  1. Now raise your hand. If you're in an uncertain place today,

  2. Uncertain what's next in your life, Uncertain how you're gonna

  3. put some pieces back together, Uncertain how some things are

  4. gonna come together for you, Uncertain whether or not you

  5. can beat what you need to be, Uncertain whether it's

  6. ever gonna change for you. Don't you ever get to

  7. the point, I'm almost forty now where you pretty much

  8. give up on you changing. Yeah, It's like in your

  9. teens and twenties, you continue to imagine this future version

  10. of yourself and future me is gonna be amazing. If

  11. I ever get to meet future me, I'm gonna get

  12. his autograph because I can picture him. And yet every

  13. year that goes by, every little birthday that I have,

  14. I kind of feel it's less and less likely than

  15. I'm ever gonna meet him. And if it's not yourself

  16. that you're uncertain about, it might be other people and

  17. whether they'll ever be able to move past the way

  18. that they feel about you. And I know some of

  19. you have relationships that are very uncertain right now. Just

  20. wave at me if I'm talking to you at all.

  21. Because I prayed about what to share, and God said

  22. I want you to speak to the ladies about the

  23. uncertain place. Now it's called a certain place because Jacob

  24. has never been here before, so he doesn't know what

  25. to call it. And the town is actually called Luz

  26. It's a little place, it's not really a big place,

  27. and he has to stop there. Have you ever had

  28. to stop somewhere where you didn't want to be? Come on,

  29. have you ever? Have you ever had a layover that

  30. you didn't plan for? Have you ever have you ever

  31. had the sunset on your situation and you had to

  32. lay down? Let's think about this. Jacob has to down

  33. in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes in our lives, God

  34. will give us the ability to rename places and things

  35. that we've been through. God gives you the ability to

  36. call things that be not as though they are. So

  37. that's how you can go through something in your life

  38. that to people it looks like an ending, but you

  39. can call it a new beginning. That's what faith gives

  40. you the power to do. Faith doesn't always give you

  41. the ability to change or determine what you go through.

  42. It always gives you the ability to determine what you

  43. call what you go through. Some of us need to

  44. rename some places in our lives, because I got news

  45. for you. Some of the people that broke your heart

  46. were actually doing you a favor, because if they would

  47. have stayed in your life, it would have limited you.

  48. Sometimes when people leave your life, it's because God is

  49. making room for an upgrade. Sometimes I to on my

  50. iPhone and it gives me a message. It says an

  51. update is available. I hear the spirit of God saying

  52. to somebody today, I know you've lost some things lost,

  53. some time lost, some people walked away from you, and

  54. maybe some of it was your fault. But the Spirit

  55. of God says today and update is available. Or you

  56. can lay down here and die and wish you were

  57. back where you have been, or wonder about where you're

  58. going to be. But the Revelation says, it's so good.

  59. He says, the Lord is in this place. Can I

  60. just get you to say that the Lord is in

  61. this place? The Lord is in this place now. Some places,

  62. it's really easy to say that I've had moments in

  63. the presence of God, just beautiful moments where everything felt great.

  64. I've had I've had moments in my life where I've

  65. seen God do things that I would have never even

  66. dreamed about as a boy. And then I watched my

  67. dad die of als, and I watched him gasp for breath,

  68. And I wonder, can I say the Lord is in

  69. this place when my dad is gasping for his last

  70. breath like I can when I'm on vacation. I wonder,

  71. can I say the Lord is in this place when

  72. I'm still only halfway there, like I'll be able to

  73. when I get to my destination. Now, the enemy is really,

  74. really tricky. He always wants to get you to imagine

  75. a place called there. And there is where Jacob was going.

  76. There is where Jacob had set out for. There is Hauran.

  77. It's the place that you're going toward in this place

  78. in your life. It is the place where your finances

  79. are finally able to support a reasonable lifestyle. There is

  80. a place where you're no longer controlled and mastered by

  81. the addiction, where you don't feel the chains of these

  82. habits that have been on your wrists and your ankles

  83. for decades and decades. There is the place where the

  84. memory of the trauma of what you went through at

  85. the hands of people who should have known better, at

  86. the hands of people who should have protected you, and

  87. not only did they not protect you, but they inflicted

  88. pain upon you. There is the place where you are

  89. no longer haunted by the memory of what they did.

  90. And when I get there, I'm going to praise God

  91. because he brought me out with a mighty hand and

  92. an outstretched arm, and nobody could do it but him.

  93. It's the red sea he brought me through. It's the

  94. pit he brought me out of. It's the lie instant

  95. he snatched me out of. It's the fire he rescued

  96. me from there. Somebody shout there, yet, this is not

  97. a message about praising God there. I came to tell

  98. you praise Him here. Here. Here. We don't like here

  99. in our modern culture very much. That's why I have

  100. so many tools to escape here. That's what Instagram is,

  101. That's what Facebook is. It's a way for me to

  102. leave here. Even if I can't leave physically, I can

  103. leave mentally. I was on vacation this week last week

  104. with my family on Instagram looking at people who were

  105. at work. Why would you leave work to go on

  106. vacation to go back to work? In your mind on

  107. your iPhone? Because I don't want to be here. I

  108. want to be there. I don't want to be here.

  109. Look how broken I am here, Look how bad it

  110. hurts here. I don't want to be here. Some of you,

  111. you don't have to wave at me. Some of you

  112. don't even want to be here. Like right here, right now.

  113. I know you're grateful and you're smiling, and you're trying

  114. your best to look like you're happy. You're not happy.

  115. This is the last place you want to be, you

  116. think Jacob wanted to be lying on a rock in

  117. a place called Luz. Nobody goes to LUs on vacation

  118. love sitting on anybody's bucket list. Jacob didn't set out

  119. for LUs. He set out for Huran and the sunset.

  120. And sometimes the sun goes down and the lights go off,

  121. and you have no choice but to stop where you are,

  122. and that's where God shows up. Hey, thanks for watching.
