  1. You know, it's a funny thing about pride. When your

  2. heart is full of pride, you try.

  3. To write your own prescriptions and you start saying.

  4. Things like, well, if they apologize, or well if they

  5. come to me, well if they this, and if they that.

  6. But what if God isn't going to heal you on

  7. your terms? What if He isn't going to set everything

  8. up to be convenient? What if the command that God

  9. gives you is to do something that to you seems

  10. insignificant and foolish and embarrassing and humiliating. What if God

  11. gives you something to do that seems beneath you. Naymon

  12. said the Jordan river, and he went away angry and said,

  13. here's the two words that get me in trouble verse eleven.

  14. I thought, do you know how many times those two

  15. words have stood between me and p I thought? I thought,

  16. you know how many times those two words have stood

  17. between me and joy?

  18. I thought? How much longer are you gonna worship at

  19. the altar of what? You thought? What if God wants

  20. to do it in a different way? What if God wants

  21. to do it in I'll process?

  22. Not in a moment, look, Namon expected it to go

  23. a certain way.

  24. I thought he would surely come out to me. He

  25. would come to me. He's supposed to come to me.

  26. I'm a great man. People come to me.

  27. And I thought he would stand and call on the

  28. name of the Lord is God. I thought he would

  29. wave hever was supposed to wave his hand over the

  30. spot and cure me of my leprosy. But see that

  31. wasn't the spot that God was aiming for. God wasn't

  32. trying to heal name and skins.

  33. Much as he was trying to create faith in Namon's heart.

  34. That's why I went off, because I misunderstood what God

  35. was trying to do in that moment. I went off

  36. because I got so much more concerned about how I

  37. looked in the situation.

  38. Than what God was trying to do through it.

  39. And the message today is for somebody who is about

  40. to go off. You're sick of it. I don't have

  41. to put up with this. Do they know who I am?

  42. Namon said, do you know my name? Man?

  43. All right, I'll retire the jokes. I'll just stick to

  44. the Bible.

  45. Are not Abana and far par The rivers of Damascus

  46. better than all the waters of Israel.

  47. I got my prejudice.

  48. I got my preference, I got my convenience, I got

  49. my thoughts, I got my plan, I got my script.

  50. Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed? So watch

  51. what Name and did? He turned and went off. Literally,

  52. he went off in a rage. And thank God when

  53. he speaks to you in those moments and interrupts you

  54. from going off and going back home, going home unhealed,

  55. because you were unwilling to be humbled.

  56. And Name and servants came to him. Look what they did.

  57. They went to him and said, my father, sir dude,

  58. if the prophet told you to do some great thing, would.

  59. You not have done it? Well, yes, because I am

  60. a great, many great.

  61. Then how much more when he tells you wash and

  62. be cleansed, can I tell you something. God's not trying

  63. to cure your condition or fix your situation. He's trying

  64. to make you hold on the inside. So this is

  65. how God showed me, Holly. He came for a cure,

  66. but he went home cleansed. And sometimes what we come

  67. for is not what we leave with. And what's what

  68. he did next verse fourteen. So Naman went down.

  69. That's the only way he's going to get healed.

  70. He went down and dipped himself in the Jordan, that

  71. muddy river that meant so much to the nation Israel

  72. of Israel, but meant nothing.

  73. To name it.

  74. And he dipped himself in the Jordan seven times. And

  75. the first time he dipped, let me assure you, nothing

  76. got better. And the second time he dipped, let me

  77. assure you, his spot looked exactly the same. And the

  78. third time he dipped, his skin didn't grow any lighter

  79. or darker. And the fourth time he dipped, nothing happened

  80. to indicate that he was doing the right thing. And

  81. the fifth time he dipped, do you get the.

  82. Point, nothing happened. The sixth time.

  83. That he dipped, he wondered, did this man send me

  84. down here to make a fool of me? Because God

  85. wants to know? Do you trust me enough to stay

  86. in the process when you cannot see the proof? Sometimes

  87. I am going to need you to go in before

  88. you go off, to go into my presence, to go

  89. into my work, to seek me for wisdom, to seek

  90. my will. And when it doesn't seem like it's working,

  91. it's going to take all seven times. But if you

  92. keep going off on the third dip. When you keep

  93. going off, when you don't feel appreciated or confirmed or validated.

  94. If you keep going off, you are gonna go home

  95. with the same condition that you came to church with.

  96. But if you go in and come into my presence

  97. with thanksgiving and enter my courts with praise, if you

  98. will go in and worship me and go through the

  99. emotions when you don't feel like it's working, and trust

  100. me and humble yourself, I'll lift you.

  101. Up, stand to your feet.

  102. And after his seventh dip in the Jordan, as the

  103. Man of God had told him, his flesh was restored.

  104. And watch this, he became clean. It was more than

  105. just his skin, it was his soul. To know, you've

  106. got to embrace God's process to experience his promise. And

  107. the Great Man, the Great Man, Namman, came out of

  108. the Jordan with his skin restored like a young boy.

  109. The Great Man became like a young boy. That's about faith,

  110. my friend, and I admired name him because he went,

  111. and I relate to name him because he almost left.

  112. There's been so many times in my.

  113. Life that God has spoken something to me that it

  114. almost seemed too simple.

  115. It was almost offensive to me.

  116. There's times where he spoke to me to let something

  117. go I was holding on too. There's been times where

  118. he wanted me to go to someone and take responsibility

  119. for my part in a relational conflict. There's been times

  120. in my life where he to me to own a

  121. dysfunction that I kept trying to justify and explain away.

  122. And I can only tell you this from experience, is

  123. that like name, and what I found is that the

  124. cleansing comes in the process. It comes when you get

  125. down in that water that seems muddy to you and

  126. start doing the dirty work of saying this is what

  127. it is, This is what it is. This is me

  128. and the way that I respond and react. I can't

  129. I can't keep blaming it on my environment. I can't

  130. just stay in this position where I'm fighting all the time.

  131. So I'm going down. I'm going in.

  132. In fact, lift your hands in the presence of the

  133. Lord right now. This is the posture of surrender, and

  134. healing only comes through surrender in the presence of God.

  135. You can't receive God's transformation on your terms. So you

  136. got to get your hands up high. You got to

  137. know where your help comes from. Today You got to

  138. know that the healing power of Jesus is available to

  139. you in every moment. It's not something you can achieve

  140. by mine or by power. It must be received by

  141. His spirit.
