  1. You've got to be very careful that you don't expend

  2. all of your energy fighting battles that are not yours,

  3. and then you don't have any energy left for the

  4. battles that are yours. And now you've gotten so tired

  5. leaving comments on Facebook posts with people that you don't

  6. know in Idaho that you don't have any strength to

  7. engage with the people who live in your own house.

  8. I'm not trying to run the White House. I'm trying

  9. to run my house. And I got my hands full.

  10. I got three people in my house who are dependents. Yeah,

  11. I know, when you're wearing yourself out swinging that stuff

  12. that's not even yours to fight.

  13. I'm bad about this though.

  14. I sometimes it's as if I don't have enough drama

  15. for my own self, so I start trying to control

  16. other people.

  17. You know how you can tell if you're fighting the

  18. wrong battles.

  19. If you are trying to control others, you're fighting the

  20. wrong battle.

  21. You can't control others past a certain point.

  22. You can only manipulate short term behavioral results, but you

  23. can't change somebody's heart. That's why even the New Testament says,

  24. as much as it is possible with you live at.

  25. Peace with all men.

  26. There comes a point where the peace of another person

  27. is not your responsibility.

  28. Your piece is your responsibility.

  29. And there comes a point where you have to say,

  30. that's not my battle, that's not my battle. I've done

  31. all I can do, but that's not my battle. In fact,

  32. let me give you a great little line to use

  33. the next time somebody tries to draw you into some

  34. gossip or draw you into some drama.

  35. Okay, And they'll usually say, what do you think about

  36. so and so? You heard about so and so?

  37. What you think about People ask me this off time

  38. about another ministry, what do you think about so and so?

  39. And I learned this from an older minister. They taught

  40. me what to say, what do you think about? And

  41. here's what you say back, I don't. It'll work for

  42. a variety of situations. It can work for a situation

  43. that you're ignorant about and you only read headlines, so

  44. you really don't have anything to say because we can't

  45. trust the information that we're given. It can work about

  46. Donald Trump, It can work about Kanye West. It can

  47. work about somebody else that drops their kid off at

  48. school next to you and they're having trouble in their marriage.

  49. What do you think about so and so? I don't.

  50. My heart is a full time drama factory. I do

  51. not need to borrow drama from anybody else's personal life.

  52. I got my own drama byod bring your own drama.

  53. I got enough.

  54. You brought your own drama to church without judging somebody

  55. else from what you think about them from ten seconds

  56. of their life compared to the entirety of it. I

  57. don't have time for it. And Jehoshaphat didn't run around

  58. looking at what other people were doing. He went to

  59. seek the Lord. He went to inquire of the Lord.

  60. And this is not just some glib prayer or this

  61. is not just getting some feeling and going with it

  62. and calling it God. And this isn't just slapping a

  63. scripture verse on something that you wanted to do anyway

  64. so that you can blame it on God when it

  65. doesn't work out.

  66. This is really seeking the Lord.

  67. In fact, the Bible says that he was shaken, but

  68. he wasn't Maybe I should say it this way. He

  69. was shocked, but he wasn't shook. Ooh didn't see this coming.

  70. M and Moab and the Edomites. That's three of them.

  71. I could fight one, but there's three of them. It's

  72. bigger than me, and it's coming up from behind me.

  73. Something bigger than you that came up from behind you.

  74. Jehosha FAST's prayer is interesting because he's praying about Ammon

  75. Moab and the Edomites from Mount Sier. But we got

  76. three different enemies. We got the world, the flesh, and

  77. the devil. That's from first John that's your enemy, the world,

  78. the flesh, and the devil that's the values that oppose

  79. your purpose. The world the flesh that's the patterns that

  80. oppose your purpose. And the devil that is the principality

  81. that opposes your purpose. And I could fight one, But

  82. how do I fight the devil when I'm fighting my

  83. own flesh? How do I fight the world when actually

  84. there's a part of me that wants to do it

  85. like the world.

  86. I could fight.

  87. One, but I can't fight them all, and they're bigger

  88. than me, and it's coming up from behind.

  89. How do I raise kids.

  90. In a call cure where the information of the history

  91. of the universe is in their pocket.

  92. How do I have a.

  93. Sex talk with kids when they don't have to go

  94. to a gas station to see pornography. They can do

  95. it right beside their Bible app The nature of the

  96. battle determines the nature of the strategy. When you don't

  97. understand the nature of the battle, you will not understand

  98. the nuance of the strategy. So you will fight the

  99. battle not understanding the dynamics of the battle, and you will.

  100. Lose the battle because you.

  101. Will wrestle on the wrong level. Can I preach you

  102. a little bit today? It's for fifty people that you

  103. are facing something that snuck up from behind. You didn't

  104. see this coming, and it's bigger than you.

  105. I don't know which one to fight next.

  106. When you understand the nature of the battle, you can

  107. understand the nature of the strategy.

  108. And that's why I got to ask God.

  109. Jehasha Fat resolved to seek the Lord, and that means

  110. he involved the priests, the levites, and they got together

  111. and he got surrounded by the right people.

  112. He's not going to Ahab this time. He's not asking all.

  113. His friends what they think about at this time. He's

  114. not looking for celebrity culture to influence his decisions. This time.

  115. He's going to the right place. But he doesn't have

  116. a plan, and I want you to see his prayer

  117. because it'll help you if you're facing a battle that

  118. is bigger than you and it's snuck up from behind you.

  119. Every day this week, I want you to open your.

  120. Bible to Second Chronicles twenty verse three, and following read

  121. what Jahasaphat prayed and then prayed it because verse five

  122. says out loud, I want you to pray this every

  123. day this week.

  124. If you're fighting a battle that is bigger.

  125. Than you and it's snuck up from behind you in

  126. God's face this week, for a few minutes every day,

  127. and pray this prayer because Johasaphat stood up verse five

  128. in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the Temple

  129. of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard.

  130. This is Solomon's temple. This is the one they dedicated

  131. to God. This is the one where God promised to

  132. pour out his presence for any problem you face. And

  133. he starts reminding God of what God said, O, Lord,

  134. God of our fathers, are you not the God who

  135. is in heaven. I love this man because he has

  136. already shifted his focus from what is coming against him

  137. to the one who rings above him, O, Lord, God

  138. of our fathers, Are you not the God who is

  139. in heaven?

  140. You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power

  141. and might are in your.

  142. Hand, and no one can withstand you, O our God,

  143. Did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land

  144. before your people Israel? Remind God of what he's already

  145. done when you're not sure what he's doing right now.

  146. Not so he can remember, but so you can. Come on,

  147. You need to remember. This is not your first rodeo, cowboy.

  148. This is not the first time you cried. This is

  149. not the first time you were sort of breath. This

  150. is not the first time you didn't see away clear.

  151. This is not the first time you were hurt. This

  152. is not the first time your heart was broken. This

  153. is not the first time you didn't have enough money.

  154. This is not the first diagnosis that came up from behind.

  155. Ylis presence?

  156. Did you not do it before your people Israel? And

  157. give it forever to the descendants of Abraham.

  158. Your friend. Watch this.

  159. He said you gave it forever. And since you gave

  160. it forever, it can't stop now. Since you promised to

  161. fulfill your purpose. No enemy from Emmin no enemy from Moab,

  162. no enemy from Mount Sierra.

  163. Oh eeda ike can take it away.

  164. And when he says it, on one end he's praising God,

  165. but it almost sounds like he's blaming God.

  166. Notice the tone it shifts in verse eight.

  167. They have lived in it and have built in it

  168. a sanctuary for your name, saying, if calamity comes upon us,

  169. whether the sword or judgment, or plague or famine, we

  170. will stand in your presence before this temple that bears

  171. your name, and will cry out to you in our distress,

  172. and you will hear us and save us. But now, God,

  173. Great God, respectfully, King Sir, the Righteous One. But now

  174. here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seer whose

  175. territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they

  176. came from Egypt. Oh Jehashaphah said, this is not my fault. Now,

  177. last time, when I hooked up with AaB, that's on me.

  178. But this one, somebody shot this one. This one, we're

  179. doing the best we can. This one, we're praying in

  180. the temple. This one we were acting according to the

  181. wisdom that we had for the situation we were in.

  182. This one. Nobody really knew how to do it. This

  183. one we.

  184. Couldn't have prevented biobedience. This one is different. This one

  185. is different. And you're going through something right now that's

  186. a little different. Sure, you've got sin, and you've got

  187. things you need to repent of, and I do too.

  188. And if you dare look at me with.

  189. An angelic face when I say that, I promise I

  190. will prophesy and God will show me something about your

  191. life that you do not want on these imax screens.

  192. I'll do it.

  193. But this one, this battle, this this coalition is three enemies.

  194. They joined up to fight me.

  195. And the whole reason they're even here is because when

  196. Moses led the people out of Egypt, you told him

  197. that he couldn't drive him out because they were the

  198. relatives of Esau. That's who the Edomites were. They were

  199. the descendants of Esau. And Esau was the son of Isaac.

  200. He wasn't his favorite son, but he was still a son.

  201. He gave away his birthright, but he was still a son.

  202. And Isaac was the son of Abraham, and Abraham was

  203. God's friend, and so God did not let the Israelites

  204. drive out somebody that belonged to his friend.

  205. When you've got a friend.

  206. Who knows how to fight, it will make you confident

  207. when you've got a friend who knows how to fight.

  208. I remember this kid we used to pick on in

  209. fourth grade called Eric Pye. But then Eric Pye made

  210. friends with Harry Walker. Eric Pye couldn't fight, but Harry

  211. Walker could. Harry Walker was seventeen with chest hair in

  212. the fourth grade. Harry Walker, I had a prison record

  213. in the fourth grade. Harry Walker said, you pick on him,

  214. you pick on me. Now look at somebody confidence, say

  215. you fight me.

  216. You gotta fight my friend. This is a pold message.

  217. This is to know it might be bigger than me,

  218. but it's not bigger than God.
