  1. I would say the leader's greatest burden is that you're

  2. always going to feel like I talked about one window

  3. at a time, like something is suffering. That's okay. The

  4. way I've learned it is don't let one thing suffer

  5. too long without your attention. Your challenge is going to

  6. be you are going to want to stay in the

  7. area if you break your job down or you break

  8. your marriage down, you are going to want to stay

  9. in the area of either extreme of doing the thing

  10. that you're seeing the most results from because it makes

  11. you feel good and you get validation for it, or

  12. feeding the thing that's the most problematic, where really most

  13. of your results are in the middle somewhere. So it's

  14. not in spending three meetings with the volunteer that really

  15. is never going to get on board that you're going

  16. to see success. It's also not in just hanging out

  17. with the volunteers who get it and who make you

  18. feel good about yourself. Is somewhere in the middle, and

  19. it's not really on the fringes that you're gonna find

  20. your growth. So if you're investing your time, write this down,

  21. don't water weeds. Once you figure out something isn't gonna grow.

  22. It's just not going to grow. There comes the time

  23. to say this isn't working out. Kindly, I love you,

  24. and you leave the priority. It's no longer a priority.

  25. Once something is really working, though, that might be a

  26. time for you to say, you know what, I keep

  27. doing this because it's easy, and this is what I

  28. want you to work with. Elijah on on piano, he

  29. plays the stuff that he can play fast. He plays

  30. the stuff that makes him feel good. He really needs

  31. to work on the music that sounds horrible where I

  32. don't go upstairs. Hey, that sounds great, man, you're killing

  33. it up there. What he needs to be playing his

  34. stuff where I go. God, how much longer are you

  35. going to be practicing? Because that's where he's learning and

  36. that's where you're growing. So notice those tendencies that you

  37. have to spend a lot of time in the area

  38. that just makes you feel comfortable or that you get

  39. a lot of praise for, and just spend the time

  40. there because it's the most noticeable, or the tendency you

  41. have to spend all the time. If you have three

  42. kids with the problem one while the two good ones

  43. aren't getting rewarded for being on good behavior, think of

  44. your priorities in those ways, and realize that most of

  45. the growth is in the middle somewhere. It's not on

  46. either of those extremes. Okay, is it? Because I could

  47. answer that a bunch of different ways. But here we

  48. are again talking about an adult life skill prioritization to

  49. know that, like Bishop Jakes told me, you are not

  50. going to you are not going to succeed in every

  51. area of your life every day. And he used the

  52. example of if you're doing too good at home, it

  53. probably means that there isn't enough money in the bank.

  54. If you're really really doing great in a season of

  55. earn or moving up that way, there may be attention

  56. liking at home. The first step is being okay with

  57. one window at a time, one area of focus at

  58. a time. You can't stay in one place too long, though,

  59. And so when I decided, for example, to invest myself

  60. in uh, you can pick anyone you want, songwriting, writing books, whatever,

  61. I had to take my attention away from something for

  62. a time that I've hopefully given good momentum to. So

  63. I got this spinning, spinning real good. Now I need

  64. to do this. Come over here, this thing, anything moving you.

  65. Oh God, this thing over here, that's life. There's life.

  66. They're not gonna you just said it. Spend Spence Fincepincenas,

  67. step back and watch it. It's gonna slow down. You

  68. just gotta be aware, know other condition of your flocks

  69. and uh and kind of know what's going on and

  70. be like, Okay, that's kind of slow over there. I

  71. got this is. I have to do this more than

  72. any of y'all because the whole thing is on me,

  73. the whole thing. If I get the social media team

  74. fired up, the campus pastors need a little something, it's

  75. always something and it's okay, and uh, I'm getting better

  76. at going well, that's part of it.
