  1. Hey, you welcome to the Generation's Church podcast. We pray you will be

  2. blessed by this message. Today I made a word of God both encouraged and

  3. challenge you to be all God purpose you to be. Now, let's dive

  4. right in. Change will cost you. It will cost you. He's now

  5. half poorer, not just half, He's more than half poorer, because he

  6. gave half of his goods away, and then those he gave four times more.

  7. So it's a lot less richer than he was before. And I know

  8. you can take my next statement and do a geological study and maybe find it

  9. to be unbiblical. I don't know. Maybe it's by at least logical.

  10. So I'll just say, if you have experience changed and he has not cost

  11. you yet, maybe you haven't changed all elephants in my mind. Now this

  12. is a you. Some of you have changed church. You've come here.

  13. Has it cost you yet? Because it haven't cost you? You've just changed

  14. addressed. Oh can begeme more real. You've just changed seats, you said

  15. in it. Oh you can choose to be happy. He is it it?

  16. Oh my gosh, you'll be happy. Don't worry again. You just

  17. change seats. Change day of meeting. It used to be Sunday morning,

  18. now Saturday after day. It what's the big difference? Man? If it

  19. hasn't cost you yet, maybe a change hasn't really happened. Maybe you're like

  20. the sexy of change. But change has un sexy side too, Because when

  21. when Zach started meeting Jesus, I don't think he's like, Okay, I'm

  22. gonna meet Jesus and after this I'll be porter. I don't think he planned

  23. that. I don't think he knew that. All he knew was this Jesus

  24. guy. He changes life. He brings miraculous into my mundane life. He

  25. makes a difference in my life. He just he knew that. He knew

  26. he needs to meet Jesus. He knew he needs to make make a change.

  27. He knew exactly what until he met Jesus and he realized, you know

  28. what, I'm not gotta give all this stuff that used to hold me down

  29. away, this thing called money that used to like it and still to get

  30. I gotta give it away now because this is no longer my lord, this

  31. is no longer my master. Change will cost you. I wanted to really

  32. think deeply about that has changed hea, have you been paying the costs for

  33. change? Or it's just a little too comfortable at the moment. Got to

  34. really think deeply about that. Real change will cost you. I know it

  35. may not be money, but you'll cost you something. It'll cost your time.

  36. Or how about this, Maybe it'll cost you your trust again? Maybe

  37. you are funny really hard to trust again, Trust your leadership, trust your

  38. neighbor. He said, good to see me around already he really, you

  39. know, really wanted to see me. There were no more seats, so

  40. he sat next to me. Now he's got to say I smell good.

  41. I know I don't smell good. Whatever. Okay, I'm just being funny

  42. now right, But hey, change will cost you? Has it cost you

  43. yet? Because if hand costs you, maybe change, real change hasn't happened.

  44. We will. We will do this all over again because we know where

  45. God has led us, and this is where God wants us to be.

  46. Way too many miracles and confirmations to look back and go a regret, no

  47. regrets. But it will cost you because if hant cost you yet, maybe

  48. hasn't. You haven't changed and you say you want change, I'm not just

  49. talking about changing address, changing seats. You get me a changing brand.

  50. That's the sexy part. There's a sexy pot up the Instagram. Oh new

  51. profile? Hey, why is that line? Nothing? A course, you

  52. just trust again. You have to trust again, which means anytime you talk

  53. about trust, there's always the risk of your heart being broken one more time.

  54. I don't think we can avoid being hurt. There is no way the

  55. people who love you will ever be able to not hurt you. No freaking

  56. way. You will be hurt. In fact, that's how you know someone

  57. loves you. This pain is real. It's a very different thing than harming

  58. you. If I hurt you, I hold you. No, I'm human.

  59. If I harm you, I'm a very bad human. Run away rich

  60. loving parent will harm their children, but proceed set traps so they'll step on

  61. glass. No one does that. But will parents hurt their children of course,

  62. like when the child wants to play one more hour of Mobile Legends and

  63. the mom says no. The child gets hurt. Oh you don't love me,

  64. all kind of strong wads and you don't love me. You don't care

  65. about me. No, no, no, no, I care about you.

  66. That's why I have to hurt you by way holding these privilege for not

  67. you get what I'm saying right. Hurt is part of relationships and community.

  68. Just learn the difficiate between harm and hurt. If people harm you, that's

  69. bad. Run away people hurt you normal. We have to find a new

  70. way to deal with hurts. Forgive better, say sorry, quicker, have

  71. more open communication, be more understanding, give a benefit of doubt. All

  72. those things you hear guru say, but don't practice but poorly for now the

  73. way. Okay, change will cost you. You want change? Change your

  74. cost you number two. Change will be uncomfortable. So in the same energy.

  75. If you have been very comfortable, you haven't fully changed yet. You

  76. move into a new house sometimes can be so comfortable you don't unpack your box

  77. because that's all you know. Resetting everything. So you bought a new house,

  78. but you haven't made a home. Changing company is changing addresses. Changing

  79. church is the same thing. You've changed home and you changed houses. Have

  80. you made it a home, because it'll be uncomfortable if you do. Zechists

  81. look at chapter nineteen, verse four. I believe for three verse four,

  82. and he sat to see who Jesus was. He wanted to change, but

  83. he could not because he's shot and you know, so what he do he

  84. has to run quicker than everybody, climb up higher than anybody. And there's

  85. a lot of discomfort. It's a lot of work. So I want to

  86. caution us. If we've been too comfortable sitting in this it's not peels but

  87. these nice coat chairs. If we've been too comfortable, and you know what,

  88. it's been seven months, it's time to grow, time to really change.

  89. Don't get scared. I'm not asking you to not every night a meeting.

  90. You know, can your sign of a fifteen ministry? We don't even

  91. have fifteen ministry? How to sign up? You know, I'm asking you

  92. to do all that. Don't worry where I want to shift my house,

  93. shift a new house, new Taman, new town, just to do everything

  94. same, of course, not so don't worry. But let's be real.

  95. If things are too comfortable, we haven't changed. So if you really want

  96. change, we really want God to refresh you and give you a new breath

  97. of life. We need to be willing to be uncomfortable. Because Zakias did

  98. that, he was a number or Kanama and a viph could have taken the

  99. front seat if he wanted to chief text collector that turns three. I don't

  100. know what his surname, whatever his title was. He could have, but

  101. this was left in the story to show us change is uncomfortable. Number three.

  102. Change will cut us. There will be some severing, there will be

  103. some cutting away. There'll be things that need to be get get gotten rid

  104. off, real change. You can't work for a new company with your old

  105. company mindset. Oh begging my whole officer. I can take the pencil wherever

  106. I want, knowing to return us. All I can photo that my church

  107. song sheets just be the worst. You know already photo saying the song sheet

  108. is ready copyright infringement. You can use a company want to photo says the

  109. more for all of your worship ministry. One hundred fet people. Worse people

  110. are do you nobody. There needs to be some severing, cut off.

  111. We will deal with them in the coming weeks. Some things to be like

  112. us. Allow Jesus the greatest surgeon, to remove those things. The extra

  113. humor, you know that, the extra cancerous whatever thing rose hurt and bitterness

  114. cut cut cut, look nineteen verse eight to nine. Then he's like your

  115. students said, Lord, look, I give how my goods to the poor.

  116. And if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, so he's

  117. taken. He's carried something with him all his life that he should not have

  118. had. Stuff he stole, stuff he carried along his whole life. You

  119. know what I'm saying, There is a last time want money, he only

  120. got bad ways to get it. He wants he wants something he only got

  121. unhealthy and why it is bad silly ways to get it. Get sam.

  122. I'm saying that is mindset. There is deep internal stuff that needs to be

  123. cut off, cut off, whatever it takes to cut that off. Some

  124. of us have to go through counseling, someone to go to therapy, Some

  125. have the prayer deliverance or whatever. I don't know. Someone have to go

  126. to fasting and prayer, whatever it takes. Those things cannot be carried forward.

  127. He applies to companies, to applies to marriage to we all carry baggage

  128. from our bringing in our history, and that we move into marriage and then

  129. we expect everything to be work the way it's supposed to work, supposed to

  130. work according to my family tradition and right. And that's why we klashma.

  131. No that has to be gotten rid off too, and exact, Yes,

  132. has to give away, cut away the things that used to define him,

  133. they used to give him identity. I am filthy rich, Yes, filthy

  134. rich. He has to get you of the filthy. And we all have

  135. filthy bro And says, we all have filty. Right, we've all heard,

  136. we've all been hurt, we've all been disappointed, we all have had

  137. experienced failure. Here there, do you really want change? It cost you,

  138. It will be uncomfortable, it will cut you. Look five thirty seven

  139. to thirty nine, and no one puts new wine into all wine skins or

  140. else the new wine will burn the wine skins and be spilled, and the

  141. wine skins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wine

  142. skins and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine,

  143. immediately desires new for he says the old is better. Don't say it won't

  144. happen to me. Because three million people called the Israelites were saved and delivered

  145. from slavery. Slavery, you understand, they didn't used to own their life.

  146. Their life used to be owned by some foreigners. They told them what

  147. they could and could not do. They are now free and complaining about going

  148. back. So, yes, it will happen, even to the best of

  149. us. I'm just calling it out together because we're gonna deal with this together.

  150. We want to live healthy. Live healthy means healthy emotions, healthy spirit,

  151. healthy mind means whatever cancerous tumor, virus, bacteria, germ de taxla.

  152. Amen. Change will cost you, change will be uncomfortable, change will

  153. cut you. God is pouring new wine. He wants to do a new

  154. thing. He wants to do a new thing. Amen, not just in

  155. this one church. In his church is his church, his body. And

  156. I believe he has seen all the mess we have created as human beings,

  157. and he wants he's his church. So he wants to pull out a new

  158. spirit, a new wine, a new annoying thing. But we cannot have

  159. all minds, old hearts, always all wine skins. Amen number four.

  160. If you really want change, briefing paid for critics and criticisms, Verse seven

  161. of chapter nineteen. When they saw it, they all complained, saying,

  162. he has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.

  163. This always happened. There's always this fall letter word th e y. They

  164. they won't understand. They will always criticize. There is way that be aware

  165. of the day. There's always a day when we want to change. Not

  166. everybody understands the change that we want. I don't think the other text collectors

  167. understood why's that case is giving money away? I don't think the understood why

  168. what's happening? What's so cool? What is Jesus? I mean one time,

  169. come to your house, one time try you are giving money away?

  170. Whoa what? What? What? There will always be critics and criticisms.

  171. Some you will choose to hear and pick the good. Because we want to

  172. learn. We won't learn right. There's a lot of it. You just

  173. got to not bother. You just got to keep your heart healthy. Amen.

  174. You want change and God wants to bring changed. That's why you're here.

  175. That's why you're here. And don't even just be in church. You're

  176. here in your job, wherever you are. You're here in your marriage,

  177. that in the place. You're here in your life, your personal life.

  178. Maybe a few months before this, you're not in a very good emotional space,

  179. but now you're you're doing something about it. Maybe you're beginning to talk

  180. to someone about it, and that's healthy. And that place you're in right

  181. now, there's a reason for that, because God wants to put in new

  182. wine, new blessings. Way too quiet, guys, Okay, go ahead,

  183. man, come on, I'm talking about wine. Who are also quired?

  184. Who? Amen? There would be critics because uh, if no critics,

  185. are you used to got as yourself? Have you really changed? If

  186. it doesn't cost you, have you really changed? If you're not uncomfortable,

  187. it means you're not growing. Have you really changed? If things are not

  188. cut away, if you don't stop talking like you used to, stop thinking

  189. that, you used to start doing that, you used to start living at

  190. used to and those things are not cut away, have you really changed?

  191. Or are we just here having changed seats and change address. That's not real

  192. change. And so be ready for the talk, the criticisms and the critics.

  193. Friends. Actually, change is inevitable. It will happen with or without

  194. you, whether you want it or not. And change is necessary for growth

  195. and progress. Amen. If your muscles to be bigger, your muscle,

  196. when it's bigger, it's not the same size as it was before. That's

  197. change. You want growth, you want progress, Expect change. But change

  198. is inevitable. The world wild moved on with or without you. The question

  199. we got ask ourself is are we changing and growing for better or for worse?

  200. Because you can change for the worst. You can become a very unrecognizable,

  201. unpleasant person to be around, or you can be a better person to

  202. be around, not a better person to be around. Amen. You know

  203. when I was in school, i'mary in school SMK lost s r K last

  204. a clang. I was in let me see, yeah, I was in

  205. the yellow house, Leo. They call it yellow house. But that year

  206. yellow house was the last house in our spots, and I thought, you

  207. know what, this cannot be my legacy. I was only in standing one.

  208. Don't tell me I'm going to be last the rest of my life aut

  209. no way. The next year I found a way to cheat the system and

  210. change my house to red house. I went to I went, changing myself

  211. red house for the rest of my school year. Last place I changed.

  212. I don't whether I'm the cause or not, but first yell pray was number

  213. one when I changed the last last, last, last, last, last

  214. last, So change would change. Why are you changing for better? Orfers,

  215. that's important a man. So three things I want to address if we

  216. really one change, and we're willing to even embrace the un sexy side of

  217. change, the cause, the discomfort, the cutting away, criticisms, treatings.

  218. Number One, cause is there a need for change? Sometimes there's no

  219. reason to change. There's no cause. There's no real good reason. I

  220. don't change phone. Why it's new? There's not. I mean, we

  221. all know, there's not real. It's not need. We say I need

  222. a new iPhone fifteen? No, no, you want you want a new

  223. iPhone fifteen or you want So we gotta ask ourselves because you simply change around

  224. like I change house. You can mess things up. So is there a

  225. real cause? Is there a real need? Or is it just a popular

  226. thing to do? Hey, friends, what is popular might not be right,

  227. and what is right might not be popular. Number One, we could

  228. ask ourselves, is there a cause? I have a cause to change?

  229. It's a good cause. I shed these two weeks ago. Why generations church?

  230. Why? And the other church? Because God wants us to reach the

  231. whole world and not there's not enough churches to do it, and so we

  232. just want to play our part. Yeah, Like you know, there are

  233. some people I just can't reach, like my young people. I don't blame

  234. my jone. You give me the putzel guys, okay, ken, So

  235. we all reach different people? And why generation church? Why why starting other

  236. church among a billion churches everywhere, so that we can play our part to

  237. finish the great commission. So I told everyone in the attendants, we past

  238. us in the crowd, I say, we are generations Church, we are

  239. your friends. We're here to work together. Right. So I have a

  240. cause and we want to reach the next generation because they are very easily forgotten

  241. and sometimes not many people know how to do it. And God has given

  242. us a grace to do it and to do it together with the family.

  243. So it's not just young people and exclusively young people, but to with the

  244. families. Amen. So is there a cause? Yes, this is our

  245. cause. I have break enough a reason to make this crazy change. So

  246. whatever change you think you are making or want to make or have made,

  247. answer this first question? Is the need? Or is this just a one?

  248. This is just a sexy thing? Is this just a popular thing?

  249. Because this will this will be the this will be the thing that will keep

  250. you together in the tough time when things are costing you and things get uncomfortable.

  251. And things get being cut away from you, and and the criticisms come.

  252. Oh mind when they come from all directions, WhatsApp, Facebook, twit

  253. turn our threats to and you hear things and all the as are coming.

  254. You need to go back to the cause because that one, that one informs

  255. you whether it's worth it, despite the cause, despite the discomfort, despite

  256. the cutting, despite all this, Cristians, it's worth it because the cause

  257. is bigger than me. It's not about me, Amen. Number two,

  258. change needs a catalyst. There needs to be a catalyst. Someone needs to

  259. someone needs to initiate it. Unless I start moving there there is no follow

  260. up, there's no follow through. Someone has to make the move. Someone

  261. has to decide and say, okay, I mean a pay the price,

  262. be uncomfortable, and then you take a first step. Catalyst. Change begins

  263. with someone. Change begins with you, with me, with us. But

  264. a catalyst is a personal thing that causes change. Whatever decisions you make today

  265. in this lifetime, in this season is going to be the catalyst for your

  266. future. But you gotta move today, amen, after you know what the

  267. cause is. Yes, there is a cause. It is no matter how

  268. it gets one day, It's worth it, and our will be the catalysts.

  269. People want change, but you want other people to pay catalysts. Right

  270. are you? You pay the price? You you you cannot embark. I

  271. just come. But catalyst change begins with somebody. The vessel. The vessel

  272. is the wine skin. Change. New wine skin cannot just be pought on

  273. the ground and put everywhere we waste it. You need to be poured into

  274. a vessel, a channel, something that will then later pour out into another

  275. glass somewhere else, a channel someone that carries this change, this message,

  276. this value. You're okay, so far good. The young people, you

  277. understand, I'm too deep. Okay, your prefer when a preci You've just

  278. okay, new wine in new wine skin. The vessel has to change.

  279. We are the vessels. We need God to renew us. Somebody say,

  280. amen, Romans twelve US two, do not be conformed to this world,

  281. but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. I'll probably address this next

  282. week about the mind. This one needs to go first. This needs to

  283. be renewed first. The Bible says, don't don't conformed, transform, How

  284. renew your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable? And

  285. perfect will of God. Friends, if you're not transforming, then you're conforming.

  286. I don't want it happening. At any given time, you're either becoming

  287. something else or you're becoming like someone else. You're either transforming or you're conforming.

  288. You need to choose to be the influence or to be influenced, because

  289. if you want to influence, and the words you think can come already.

  290. If you want to influence, then you got to be transformed. You transform

  291. beginning with your mind. Otherwise you'll be conforming. You're being influenced, You're

  292. just gonna fit in. So so, conforming is to blend in, become

  293. like just blending, mit room, Okay, blending become I wish I had

  294. that might now where you know, there's a I just learned to read.

  295. There's a switch where you can switch, and then you can say something through

  296. the mind only they can hear, and then you're cannot hear. Quite cool,

  297. right, we'll get it one day. Conform is to blending, to

  298. become like everyone else, just blending. After a while you get found out.

  299. But God wants us to be transformed, to become something else, something

  300. else. The word transform actually means to change substance, the very substance.

  301. That's why the Bible causes a new creation. Do you know the Bible doesn't

  302. call you just a better version of your old old You know? The Bible

  303. says you are new creation, brand new. When Christ gets ahold of you,

  304. when he saves you by his grace, he pours new wine, new

  305. life into you, you become a new creation. New creation means new mind,

  306. new heart. That's what I want all of us to have henceforth.

  307. If it wasn't before, then let's all go. Change is the only constant.

  308. If you're not changing, you're not growing. The fact is we are

  309. changing and being changed day by day, even if we don't realize it.

  310. The question is what or who is changing us, and what or who we

  311. are changing ourselves into. Amen. So Geasians two twenty says, I have

  312. been crucified with Christ. Is no longer I who live, but Christ lives

  313. in me, and the life which I now live I live now live in

  314. the flesh. I live by faith the son of God who loved me and

  315. gave himself for me. So change comes on the inside. So we all

  316. got to determine our attitudes, and our attitudes will determine our future. You

  317. cannot determine your future. You cannot determine what happens tomorrow. You can only

  318. determine what attitudes you want to have. How you wake up every day,

  319. how you go to sleep, how you treat people, how you treat the

  320. people closest to you, how you treat people not close to you, how

  321. you treat the people who have hurt you and backstep you and forgot your birthday,

  322. and how you treat them. You determine your attitudes, and your attitudes

  323. determine your future. What next year will look like will be the sum of

  324. your attitudes today. Amen, The words that you speak, the words that

  325. you don't speak, the mind that you have, and the mind you choose

  326. to no longer have change. You determine your attitudes and your edited in your

  327. future to change the world, which, by the way, is what we're

  328. here to do. Otherwise this is a waste of everyone's time. We're here

  329. to change the world. It doesn't have to be all two hundred over countries.

  330. I don't mean that, I mean just change the world around you.

  331. I mean walking to your office, and your office should be a new place,

  332. a better place. Walk to your classroom, and it should change.

  333. We're here to change the world. Otherwise, why waste time? But to

  334. change the world, we need to be changed. We are that vessel.

  335. Change needs a cause, Change needs change needs a channel. How does God

  336. bring change into the world through the channel? You are the channel. And

  337. if you are a corrupted, filthy, blocked bet the channel and it's not

  338. done a very good change. Your office will be affected, your families will

  339. be affected, your school will be affected. We need to change, Amen,

  340. And we can change the world if we give more than we take,

  341. love more than we hate, think before we act, and act before it's

  342. too late. We can change the world if we give more than we take,

  343. love more than we hate, think before we act, and act before

  344. it's too late. Amen. If you want to make a difference, give

  345. spad change. You can make a difference. If you want to make the

  346. difference, give until you are change. Give to your change. Otherwise continue

  347. giving speed change. You make a difference. But you want to make the

  348. difference, We've gotta give of not just one ear, just give until you

  349. are changed. Change the world. Mother phrase. I said this. It

  350. is difficult to give Jesus to the people unless we have Jesus in our hearts.

  351. You can give what you don't have. Amen, hallelujah. So I

  352. speak from a heart of a shepherd, father, pastor friend. I think

  353. it's just critical that we don't just change address and seats, we change us.

  354. And I really believe God wants to do something very significant, very new,

  355. very powerful in all of our lives. And you will have an impact

  356. on your individual life. You have an impact in our corporate life. I

  357. really believe that. But I just sense like, ah, sometimes it hasn't

  358. happened yet, because we've got all these these comforts that we don't want to

  359. let go of, and we say we want change, but we are not

  360. ready for the costs. We are ready for the costs. We won't change

  361. what. We can't handle the criticisms. But I go back to the cause.

  362. Is there a cause? Yes, it's worth it. Yes, God

  363. needs one, a catalyst, a channel. Am I it sure? In

  364. some small way? God, if you choose to use me, why not?

  365. God? Amen? So God want to use you too. You're not

  366. in your office, on your college, or your family by accident. God

  367. placed you there. God placed you there. You don't want to be a

  368. bitter route You don't want to be a toxin. Amen. Thank you for

  369. joining us. We trust you have been blessed by the word of God.
