  1. Hey, you welcome to the Generation's Church podcast. We pray you will be

  2. blessed by this message. Today I made the word of God both encourage and

  3. challenge you to be all God purpose you to be. Now, let's dive

  4. right in. Now we move on to the last two points of this message

  5. of crossing over, consecrating and conquering the land that God is given to us.

  6. Amen. Okay, So number one today or other it should be point

  7. number four. Already point number four is take the first step. Now,

  8. let's look at Joshua chapter three vers eight. There So God has been giving

  9. instructions to the people who are to cross over through Joshua. And this is

  10. the instruction you shall command the priests those days it's some people are the priests.

  11. The rest are not. Today we are the royal priesthood. Amen.

  12. So God is talking to you. Okay, josh to the three verse eight.

  13. Okay, you shall command the priest who bear the out of the governant,

  14. the priests who carry the presence of God. That's you. Today,

  15. when you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you

  16. shall stand in the Jordan. Okay. Of course, this is a story

  17. where the river Jordan, which is at that time flooded, flooded, so

  18. it's very dangerous actually, because it looks calm on the surface, but the

  19. current is very strong underneath. Okay, So God is saying, when you

  20. come to the age, and I want you to cres cross over to the

  21. other side. And here's this river between you and the other side. When

  22. you reach the age, you need to step into it. You're asking someone

  23. to like, Okay, I don't know what's is there a crocodile, Is

  24. there some trap, How deep it is, how strong it's you don't know.

  25. But God is saying, take the step and go into the river,

  26. And of course the people did. Let's look at Joshatch of the three verse

  27. thirteen to seventeen, and you shall come to pass as soon as the source

  28. of the feet of the priests who bare the out of the Lord, the

  29. Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan,

  30. that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come

  31. down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap the river open up.

  32. And so it was when the people set out from their camp to cross

  33. over Jordan, with the priests bearing the other of the Covenant of the people

  34. of the Covenant before the people I think I want them are but you can

  35. read them on yourself. Basically, they did so as the Lord said,

  36. I I paid the first guy. The first guy like, oh, I'm

  37. price number fifteen. I'm okay, I'm not the first guy. Like if

  38. if it doesn't work out, okay, bye bye PRIs number one, Bye

  39. bye Priece number two. It was nice to have you. Hope you enjoy

  40. your time in generations or whatever. Okay, bye, Like who wants to

  41. be Priest number one? And two? Flow the river. But it only

  42. happened when they took the first step. For many of us here the first

  43. step to change, which usually can be the hardest because you live a certain

  44. way so long. To change can be difficult. It can be scary because

  45. there is no guarantee that if you took this first step that things will definitely

  46. change. Yes, there's no guarantee that even though you're in a new season

  47. or a new church now, that you won't get hurt again. Can I

  48. be real, There's no guarantee that your pastor won't offend you. I'm pretty

  49. sure I've forgotten to shake someone's hand today. And I'm pretty sure, as

  50. I was being stressed out chasing after my kids that I didn't smile at you.

  51. Just now, pretty sure that happens. I hope you know. I

  52. don't hate any of you, Okay, but it's going to happen. I'm

  53. pretty sure that I'm gonna forget someone's birthday, aniversary, reply someone's text late,

  54. or something like that. It's going to happen. There is no guarantee

  55. just because you're in a new job now that things are gonna all work out

  56. right, there's no guarantee. Yet. You have to take the first step.

  57. Until you take the first step, there is no breakthrough. It starts

  58. with the first step. Amen. So I just said, I remember when

  59. I was a primary school kid. I was generally a very good kid.

  60. I I live very near the school. It's like maybe three hundred farimeters away

  61. from the school. I'm a good kid that never uses any bad words.

  62. Okay, I only use bad words one year in my life, which is

  63. standard. Two. Seriously, send one. I didn't kindergarten. I didn't

  64. send it. Three onwards, I didn't and do now I don't. I

  65. don't use bad words. But sener two, I went crazy all the tamil

  66. bedwords, can beadwords, Continese bad words all came out. Okay, you

  67. learn language, right, I learned learning all the bad words worse, then

  68. you learn them, then you learn the any more names, so you can

  69. put the bad words and anymore together. I call your friend that. Come

  70. on. Isn't that how it works? In the bad words words? Okay?

  71. Yeah, So I learned my time all that way out. I learned

  72. all the numbers in the moon and another and okay and all that la okay,

  73. but standard two, I I used all the bad words. And I

  74. once wrote a little note with my teacher's name on it. Porn Davy,

  75. I still remember. And I wrote a bad word with her name on it.

  76. And it's just this is so fun. She found it. She she

  77. pulled my ear, she twisted it, she pulled my side burns out.

  78. She really tortured me and I because of one Davy. Thank God for her.

  79. I never used bad words ever again. But I did something else.

  80. I've never pulled things scolar before. See go. So I go to school.

  81. My parents are dose style parents go to school. But one day I

  82. had stomach problems. Okay, I really needed to take a dump I need

  83. to take a dumb You know what take a dumb means, right, Okay,

  84. this is the word those like let him cook kind of expressionally take it

  85. dumb. So the thing is my school toilet. This is my smk larstile

  86. klang. I don't know what your school toler was like, but my school

  87. tolet is unusable. It is you do not go into the school dolet.

  88. It's like you just don't go there. It's dangerous. All kinds of weird

  89. things. There's there's demons in there. There's like human that behave like demons.

  90. All kind of things are okay. We always imagine that if we go

  91. to use the school toilet, some some hand will come out from the toller

  92. point and grab us and pull us down. So I was, I was,

  93. I was an eight years older. It's like, I'm not gonna use

  94. a school do. I don't care how that's where I am. And then

  95. I realized, wait, my house is less inviront of meters away I walk

  96. to school, I'm gonna walk bay home and take a dump. But to

  97. do that, I have to skip class. I have to sneak out of

  98. the class, find a way to climb over the fence and run home and

  99. do it. I did that. I sneak out of the class I went.

  100. So I went to the back of the school, past the can team

  101. because that's where the back door is. And I didn't have to climb the

  102. fence, Thank god, there was a whole. So I crawled under the

  103. fence, ran back home, did my business relief, put my pens back

  104. on, came back into school, and like nothing happened. First time I

  105. ever pointing Scholar. It never stopped after that. Those days there was this

  106. arcade pay street fighter one twenty cents pay, so we will skip school to

  107. go and do that. Okay, now, not a good example, but

  108. it's an example. And until I did it for the first time, I

  109. never dare do it. I never I would never imagine. And then suddenly

  110. I did it for one time and became easier. After that, Pointing Scholar

  111. was natural, normal, easy. Not a good example, but an example.

  112. A lot of us here bound held back by our first step the river

  113. are doing there too. Now I'm going to leave it to you to process

  114. what your first step is in this season or your life. For some of

  115. you, first step could just be I'm going to commit because I haven't committed

  116. for a while. I've just been floating around. You know, I've been

  117. dating this person they supposed to be asking me when are we gonna actually marry,

  118. and you're like, oh, let's see how as a lot leads,

  119. I'll pray about it all right. So for some of us, the first

  120. step is just too okay, I'm committed, this is it. I'm gonna

  121. stay in this job for at least two years and not every single day of

  122. the new job looking for a better job. So your heart is not there.

  123. Why you mentioned coming to work waiting for this better one to come,

  124. and you know how your heart is not there. So for some of you,

  125. the first step could be as simple as I'm just going to commit.

  126. For some of you, I don't know. The first step is to step

  127. into the unknown, to do something you've never done before, something that maybe

  128. speak to someone you're never spoken before. You said, okay, first step,

  129. what is your first step? First step? For some of you,

  130. your first step could be picking up the phone and saying sorry. You usually

  131. know who you need to say sorry to, you just can't bring yourself to

  132. do it now. Again, there is no guarantee that if you say sorry,

  133. you get your money back. There's no guarantee. Then you say sorry,

  134. everything will feel great. But it's the first step. I told you,

  135. right, Joshua, first step, River Open Cross. Still have to

  136. fight, you know, three more major military campaigns before they actually got the

  137. land. So don't be food. Oh I took my first step a day.

  138. How come have what happened yet? But if you don't take your first

  139. step, it will definitely not happen. Can I say something quick with you?

  140. I have a weakness? Okay, I have many weaknesses. Sorry,

  141. how can I be so? Said? You know I've got any waknesses.

  142. I won't tell you about one of them. I text and drive. I

  143. drive and I text and it's bad and it's wrong and I shouldn't do it.

  144. I'm taking my first step today. I'm telling you I have this problem.

  145. I endanger my family because sometimes I drive very fast and text anyway wrong.

  146. It's bad, it's a crime. I shouldn't do it. I endanger

  147. my family, my young children, my wife. Someone brought it up to

  148. me last night and said, hey, what are you gonna do about it?

  149. The question was, you know it's wrong, what are you going to

  150. do about it? This is my first step. All of you, now

  151. do your words hold me accountable. You're in my car, usually your young

  152. person. Now you're in my car. I touched my phone to text.

  153. You say, pastor, I know already make it's simple for you. I

  154. know you wouldn'tdare to say so many words. Pastor, you shouldn't text a

  155. driver. But any of you seeing my car, you see me touch my

  156. phone to text, you just say pasta or no, pastor? Who?

  157. So what's so great? Just yo, bro? This is my first step.

  158. I couldn't answer the question what do you do about it? I'm like,

  159. yeah, most of us that we realize, we realize the mistake,

  160. we realize the wrong. How to change? Is there any guarantee that I

  161. will never text again when I drive? I hope not. I'm speaking as

  162. if I'm the only person in this room that text and drive. Flower,

  163. You're all done right. None of you do right. None of you ever

  164. do right. So I'm the only one that's fine. So therefore all of

  165. you have the right to keep me accountable. This is my first step to

  166. be open with you all about my weakness and say, keep me accountable.

  167. If I have to text, I will stop my car and text, which

  168. means we may only get to you camp six hours later. No, but

  169. I have to do this. I can't think of any of the way I

  170. can say to myself. Okay, I can tell my wife I'll never do

  171. this again. I don't know. I just felt like wake up this morning.

  172. Go No. No, I have to take it to another level.

  173. I would tell the whole church this is my weakness because some of you are

  174. going to keep my car one, keep me accountable. This is my first

  175. step. I want to change. What's yours? What's yours? What first

  176. step will you take today? No, I'm not saying first step is guarantee.

  177. First step is first step, and then you cross over and then it's

  178. still a means to fight. It's a small thing, I know. I

  179. texting and driving, Yes, they are bigger issues. I just I can't

  180. watch all my detiliens. Here are just ins, just a real life illustration

  181. that I'm going through for real. I don't want to justify it. It's

  182. wrong. I shouldn't do it. She should. Why am I saying this?

  183. Because it's important to be accountable? You know why we don't change?

  184. Because all here I'm gonna change. But nobody knows about it. Who's gonna

  185. ask you, who's gonna ask you about it, who's gonna keep you accountable?

  186. It's important, do you know? It's not just a spiritual principle.

  187. As psychologists, they've done research, They have research to prove it statistics.

  188. If somebody else knows about the problem that you're facing, the likelihood of you

  189. changing is higher. And not only that, you actually feel better. That's

  190. why people want to share the problems because the just the knowledge that somebody else

  191. knows what I'm going through psychologically, it actually gives you strength to face it

  192. another day. Who created the psychology psychology? Anyway? God? God created

  193. our mind or spirital soul. Right, So of course the principle is there,

  194. Confession is good if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just

  195. to forgive us. But did you know that as a scripture that also says,

  196. I think it's the same book, confess your sins to one another,

  197. that you may be healed. Confess to one another that you may be healed.

  198. Accountability. Amen. So I'm not just saying take the first step.

  199. I'm saying take the first step. Name the first step, tell somebody about

  200. it. He says someone you need to forgive. He says something you need

  201. to let go. There's something you need to take on with courage. So

  202. we move on to the next point. We said the last instruction God gave

  203. to John Josh the three verse five, and Josh say to people, centify

  204. yourselves. Why for tomorrow, the new day? The next day, the

  205. Lord will do wonders among you. God won't bring a new day to do

  206. all things right, new wine, new wine, skin. I don't know

  207. if you feel in your spirit, but I do. God's God wants to

  208. do amazing things. But we need to take the first step. But we

  209. also need to centify ourselves. What is centify ourselves? The word centify means

  210. set apart. The words set apart means holy. I know we think of

  211. holy as if I okay, can you think of a picture? When I

  212. say holy? What do you think of? Let me maybe maybe ask the

  213. leading question, what color have you thought of? White? Right? Okay?

  214. If the color is a cloth, a badjo, is it long or

  215. short? Usually a rope a wedding gown. See needs a picture of holiness?

  216. White rope, perfection, perfection. Never had a bad thought, never

  217. Text and drive only person and d H no, none of us do holy,

  218. no wonders, So how to be holy? No wonder? Nobody wants

  219. to be holy. That's a picture of holiness that I think maybe Hollywood painted

  220. for us, because how to make a Disney movie If the bad guy is

  221. not very bad and the good guy's not very good, I have to make

  222. it very clear. So the children are bad good? Okay, follow good.

  223. But holiness just means set apart. But that's a simplified version. Set

  224. apart for what, set apart for a purpose. See, that's holiness.

  225. That means if you centify yourselves, if you make yourself you want to be

  226. holy. That means you set yourself for a purpose. Not that purpose,

  227. this purpose you get, you get a picture. I've set myself apart for

  228. this purpose, therefore not that. So if I go there, I'm unholy.

  229. Not because I use the bad word, not because I wear miniskirt or

  230. God forbid, not because I watch porn. That's that's holy too, And

  231. I'll tell you why not because porn is porn, because that's what That's not

  232. what your eyes are for. That's not what your mouth is for. God

  233. did not create your mouth to speak bad words, And so when you use

  234. bad words, it's unholy, not because of the words, like what makes

  235. the word bad? Because for example, the word bhutto over here is wait

  236. you go to Indonesia. But the past of preaching in his massare fifteen that

  237. you'll say the word buto it means what it means true, it means malalu.

  238. It's like malaluis so a bad word in one language, it's not a

  239. bad word in another language. Spell exactly the same, sounds the same.

  240. So how who is to what is bad words? So that's why it's never

  241. about the words. It's not what goes into the mouth of defouls. The

  242. man is what comes out of the mouth. Where did the word come from?

  243. That's why why is the point you f you but I didn't say the

  244. word I already say ha ha ha. I didn't say the word no.

  245. But you thought it. You thought it and God saw it. So you've

  246. got had a record. It's there. Centify yourself means holiness, holiness being

  247. set apart for a purpose. This is a microphone. I love this illustration.

  248. This is a microphone. It was designed and created for a purpose.

  249. Was the purpose amplify voice Every chip, every diode, every cable, every

  250. wire, every single part was designed for this one purpose, amplified voice.

  251. Yes, and if I didn't know better, I saw this mind I say,

  252. looks like an ice cream. Must be an ice cream. Let me

  253. lick it like an ice cream. Taste a bihun Mmmm Wow kuba because somebody

  254. else ate it just now and used it. Wow, this ice cream very

  255. nice. There is permanent it never malts. I love this ice cream.

  256. Wow, smells funky, but I love this ice cream. What have I

  257. done to the microphone? I've unholyfied it? Why because of my sliber I

  258. dirtified it? No, because I use a microphone. There is meant to

  259. amplify voice, but I used it as food instead. You got saying the

  260. dirty is not the sliver. The dirty is that I have abused this purpose,

  261. abuses, abnormal use. This is a microphone. It's meant to amplify

  262. woys And when I use it to emplify voice, then I'm making this microphone

  263. holy? What are your lives for? What is your life designed to do?

  264. Who are you created to be? God is saying, centify yourself,

  265. don't be tempted to be somebody else? To do something else. That will

  266. also mean on the passive side, that means if you have that missa,

  267. is this my if this my girlphone is meant to amplify voice, and all

  268. it does is live in the cabinet because it's so expensive. It's not like,

  269. by the way, we pot a cheap one, but you know it's

  270. so expensive, let's not use it, let's just preserve it. It's also

  271. unholy because it's not meant to be in the cabinet, is not meant to

  272. be silent. So if you have a gift that you're not using by this

  273. definition, that's unholy too. You get what I'm saying. If you're meant

  274. to love, but you will hold your love, that's an unholy act.

  275. The Bible says, husband, love your wife. So if the husband with

  276. whole love from the wife, the husband has been a holy why. Oh

  277. of course he used the bad word on her. No he didn't. He

  278. went health love, and therefore he's become an holy why because it's not the

  279. purpose he was created for. It's not the purpose why God brought this marriage

  280. together. You know what I'm saying. So Bible says centify yourself. So

  281. this word is going out to all of us here. The next thing we

  282. need to discover is God, why am I here? What am I here

  283. for? I don't just mean church, I mean what am I here for

  284. in this relationship, in this company, in this city, in this nation.

  285. But what can we do for the nation? Because God's heart is for

  286. the nation? Amen. Centify yourself. Centify yourself means also remove the unholiness.

  287. That means, oh gosh, so sorry. I've used the money you've

  288. given me for the wrong purpose. It doesn't even have to be a crime.

  289. It's just well, it was meant for missions, but you used it

  290. for something else. You just made your money. And Holy you get what

  291. I'm saying. Right, So, God, what is what is the purpose

  292. of my life? And So when you come to God and say, God,

  293. I'm about to take my first step, I'm gonna name my first step.

  294. I'm gonna tell somebody about it. I have to. If you're serious

  295. about change, you have to then take the first step. No guarantee,

  296. but take the first step, and then the next step, and then the

  297. next step. But as you go, what's happening in your heart is God,

  298. centify me, Centify me. Your heart is not meant to carry unforgiveness.

  299. It's not made for that. It's not made for that. So centify

  300. yourself means God, it's so hard to forgive. God to help me.

  301. God, to help me. God. It might take a day, it

  302. might take a week, might take three months, two years, I don't

  303. know, but go through the processing, say God, remove this from me.

  304. Why Because God wants to do wonderful things and we don't want to be

  305. a hindrance to what God wants to do. Amen, thank you for joining

  306. us. We trust you have been blessed by the word of God. If
