  1. Hello, and welcome to the Generation's Church Podcast. We're so excited to have

  2. you here today. It is our prayer that God's word will inspire and help

  3. you grow in your faith. Now, let's get right into it, all

  4. right, cool. So we've been on a series and a series is called

  5. Yes God, Yes God. Yes, Sir, Yes God. Amen.

  6. I put it to us, and I will continue on the theme. Well,

  7. I'm really really trying to say here. I'm trying to say one thing,

  8. say yes to God, Say yes to God. Please. I'm not

  9. saying say yes to meet the church, the ministry. There's all something else.

  10. I know. Sometimes pastors, preachers, churches have put it as the

  11. same thing. It's not the same thing. I'm not telling you to do

  12. the same thing. Are there times where you express your yes to God by

  13. serving the church? Yes? He said the only way. No, So

  14. what am I saying here? I'm cautioning us, encouraging us, reminding us

  15. basically, this is your life, is not your own. It is not

  16. for a moment thing. You are living for yourself, not for a moment

  17. thing. You are storing up treasures and riches for yourself to live a more

  18. comfortable life. That's not the goal of this life. Can I tell the

  19. truth? It is not. This is another concept that the world teaches us.

  20. They're sitting to the church. That's all about comfort, It's all about

  21. a better quality of life, better courity of life according to who? Who

  22. defines better? Who defines good? I just came for a whole week of

  23. classes in Bible school. Hear me flexing again talking about does God permit evil

  24. in the world because there's so much evil in the world, right, and

  25. how can a good God allow evil to happen? And then usually these kind

  26. of arguments, the person who argues you was usually say if I am God,

  27. I'll do it better. Well, what is better? What good?

  28. According to who? We must not forget who is God? In this picture?

  29. We are not God. God is God. Amen. And so while

  30. many people in this world is trying to go for a better quality of life,

  31. please nothing wrong with that. Just make sure that your definition is biblical,

  32. because if you measure it based on Warren Buffet or Elorn mask or whatever

  33. it is, or trying to define it, we are messed up. Because

  34. the Bible is the only authority, the final authority, the the ultimate authority

  35. for us to define what's good, what's bad, what's wise, what's not,

  36. what's right, what's wrong? Amen? So I'm not against going for

  37. the next nice car of I love that too, you know, all those

  38. things are good. Don't don't get me wrong. I'm saying be a be

  39. a pauper, you know, be a bag. No, but don't make

  40. that the goal of your life. God, that's not life, okay.

  41. Our life is now our owner. Your car yours, your bank account is

  42. not your, Your business is not yours, Your children are not yours.

  43. Your breath that you're taking right now, that's not yours. This is but

  44. the mercies of God, the grace of God. We live for him,

  45. and so the the real we don't really have an option. We can make

  46. our choices, but we don't really have an option. The only option we

  47. have is to say yes to Him. Yes. So many human beings say

  48. otherwise, and it's dangerous and it's mad a man say yes to God.

  49. Can I remind you by showing you a video, because I'm going to go

  50. into the next part of this message now, which is what happens when you

  51. say yes to God. Why wouldn't you want to say yes to God if

  52. you're saying yes to God is the way we're wired. Yes God, and

  53. you go and you're on this journey and you're like, oh my god,

  54. what did I just say? I just agree to something? And then you're

  55. like, you're stuck. Now, I'm in it. I can't get out.

  56. It's scary. It's all kinds of emotions. Right. Have you've been

  57. on a because before you've been to a theme park? Yeah, and you're

  58. like, oh, I gotta do this. And then while you're up there,

  59. you're like, what what did I do this? And then you get

  60. down and you're like, let's do it again, saying yes to God.

  61. Okay. So Mark to the twelve, Chapter six or twelve says they preach

  62. with joyful urgency that life can be radically different. This gospel that we commit

  63. ourselves to cause us to live a radically different life, or life that's different

  64. than everybody, or it's like getting on a roller coaster with God. There

  65. are days you feel like you're just anticipating their days. You're just whoa deep

  66. dife. Amen. I want to say to all of us, God is

  67. inviting every single person here. He's inviting us to live a radically different life.

  68. Not the same as the world, but a different life, a life

  69. that is radically amazingly and abundantly good and blessed. But you've got to define

  70. blessed. Okay, not prosperity, but blessed in God's definition. And you

  71. can only get that by saying yes God, Say yes to Him and all

  72. the has for you, all of the time. Amen. So what happens

  73. when we say yes to God next? Like what happens when you say yes

  74. to God? Number one? Our days become an adventure. God is basically

  75. inviting every single person here to an adventure. It's not a boring life.

  76. It's not a down life. He's not a man gen z not a man

  77. life. It's a It's an adventure. There'll be dragons and Godzillas, and

  78. there's ups and downs. There's mountains and valleys. It's like an iron man.

  79. And you swim, you ride, you run. It's an adventure.

  80. First quintiance, one mine, says God, who got you started in this

  81. spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his son and our master,

  82. Jesus Bruce eleven was it, says buying act of faith. Abraham said yes

  83. to God's call to travel to an unknown place that will become his home.

  84. When he left, he had no idea where he was going. How do

  85. you people believe that we are all created and built for adventure? Maybe some

  86. of us have grown too old for that. Maybe some of us have experienced

  87. too much of life because they've been disappointed too much. It's like too many

  88. downward spirals in this roller coaster, and ah, it's too scary. But

  89. we're all originally wired for adventure. Every baby, that's your clue. Every

  90. baby explores. Very few babies, if they are normal, sits in the

  91. corner and does nothing. I just have my tea here. Yeah, sure,

  92. every baby explore everything, Want to touch everything, want to touch?

  93. Right, those who have been parents before or have been parented before, how

  94. many times your mom or your dad, or your any or your grandpa grandma

  95. to say don't touch it, don't touch it, don't touch that. Because

  96. we are built for adventure, yes or no, we want to explore,

  97. We are curious. We are built for adventures. So if you're built that

  98. way, why would we want to right live a life that keeps saying no

  99. to God? Because saying yes to God makes your life an adventure. Amen,

  100. nobody here is amazed at mediocrity. Nobody here is amazed with normalcy,

  101. like, wah, so normal? I mean, you will not be impressed

  102. if I told you you know what I put this morning? Wow, I

  103. hiker, I hike, I hag uble heel make some date people. Hey,

  104. what's so impressive? If I told you, hey, this morning,

  105. huh I hang a mount Everest, I climb out evers with my bends,

  106. then you'll be like really, you probably won't believe or so because it's so

  107. out of this world. But it's the one we're impressed with. Why Because

  108. we are built for adventure. I know over here No, no, I'm

  109. a low risticker. You can say all that somewhere deep inside us we are

  110. built for that would be amazed with amazing things. I mean, if Daniel

  111. proposed to Pam a long time ago and gave her an onion ring, it's

  112. a ring, Darling, it's a ring, diamon ring. I can only

  113. afford one a ring. I can for one who books who's impressed. We

  114. will be like you crazy? Are you you proposed with what anion rings?

  115. No? Every girl one a diamond ring? Yes there, someone asks me,

  116. pasta you got married before? Can you give me some advice how to

  117. buy engage ma ring, how how to answer you gotta know your girl are

  118. right? I mean, if I told you I went to the moon,

  119. hey done before? Impressive? Man? If I told it I went to

  120. the sun, ah, then you'll be like, how do you do it?

  121. I went at night? I mean, if I told you I called

  122. a cat with my bad hands, what's so impressive? If people do it

  123. every day? If I call a tiger with my bad hands, see,

  124. I mean, it's just some things to get it going to. We have

  125. people adventure and we but you can only live that life that we are wired

  126. to live if we say yes to God, and God is inviting us every

  127. single day, every single day, take up your be a living sacrifice.

  128. Then in another scripture, he says, take up across daily. He wants

  129. you to be a living sacrifice every single day. Every single day, God

  130. is inviting you to an adventure. And the more we say no, the

  131. further we are from the adventure. We need to say yes to God.

  132. This is important, you know why, because human beings are what we are

  133. wife of adventure. The problem is, and this is mostly Asian parenting being

  134. a personal we hear more nose than yes. Don't do that, don't do

  135. that, don't leave flights on your plate, don't go to that room,

  136. don't go near that, don't run. Now, no, we say,

  137. we hear a lot no. So maybe that's why we are conditioned. We

  138. are conditioned to say no first. But there are people with different style of

  139. parenting. Instead of saying don't, don't eat rises, instead of saying don't

  140. eat rice, say hey, it is potato. It's more positive, right

  141. this potato. He's still saying, don't work cartoon. Hey, read this

  142. book. It's the same thing. But maybe we've been conditioned to be on

  143. the defensive. So everything is like nothing wrong with that. You know what,

  144. even if you did nothing, psychology can tell you this, right,

  145. we are already hard wired to survive. We already know how to defend ourselves.

  146. That's what we always think of the worst case scenario, because we are

  147. trying our bodies, our whole psychology, everything is trying to defend us,

  148. kip us alive. So already it's that that's the default. So if we

  149. don't learn how to say yes to God, I don't care how much money

  150. you have, what car you have in this world. You might look like

  151. I got it all together, but it's the most boring life. Then they

  152. say yes to God. Then they say yes to God. You know,

  153. I grew up as a kid. I don't know those days, no phone,

  154. no phone. So we find our own adventure. Agna knows this.

  155. We will round the bicycle and we will go harding cats. Today's animal abuse.

  156. You get caught for it. Those days you're like, we'll make last

  157. week. You know I should the cat and then uh, people are still

  158. not fun anymore. We use the stapler. We buy the big stapler,

  159. we fold it into some rock cat and then we shood the cat. Okay,

  160. don't catch me in that. There's many years ago. I repented,

  161. and no more. We were still don Bhutan from a friend's house. Friend's

  162. house. We still don butan because more fun to steal. Well, I

  163. got ting tong can sure they have no fun to steal. Used to do

  164. rock climbing. Now they go bordering in some shopping mall right with all the

  165. gear. Those days I climb real hills with no tools. Nearly die and

  166. I call it training informations. We all tie frocks to fireworks. Remember not

  167. type with the moon traveler. You know the fire cracker and should the send

  168. frog into space few pa and then one one one lake will fall from the

  169. sky. Hello, am here, that's our version of fun. Okay,

  170. you know the fire works. That is that one day you should fire a

  171. ball. We should ad our friends the run right next Eventuala, I don't

  172. know. As I grew older and became a teenager, I was taught to

  173. say yes to God. So someone says, hey, there's a mission trip

  174. to this place. Want to go yes God again. Don't get me wrong,

  175. I'm not asking you to just say yes to projects and events and chest.

  176. That's not it. That's not it. But there are things where the

  177. times where that's how we express oh yes to God. I went on this

  178. mission trip and my first ever summon was my pastor at twelve midnight. The

  179. next day is Sunday, midnight. Before we I was, before I lie

  180. down to sleep on my sleeping back, he says, Andy, tomorrow morning

  181. you picture. Ha. Why did you tell me earlier? This is like

  182. this is like last mining to the call. He didn't prepare me. I'm

  183. supposed to speak in Indonesia. Pontiana is the name of the place I'm supposed

  184. to preaching Indonesia. I've never preached before. Two hundred people was gonna be

  185. there. Oh no, I couldn't sleep. I stood up there and I

  186. whatever bahasa I knew came out, and I knew some of the words were

  187. not good words, because the teachers came running and said, don't say that.

  188. Don't say that because you know some words in Malay. Our Malay is

  189. like innocent words, but India version is a bad word. I was talking

  190. about mustache, but apparently the word I use meant hair somewhere else for them,

  191. and I was switching to two hundred children. The teacher really literally ran

  192. from the back to the front from done. I'm like we're doing, went

  193. on preaching, and then I gave him all the call and say, how

  194. if you want to receive Jesus in your life? Two hundred hens went up

  195. and said say, I'm oh, yes, Sus. What Maybe you don't

  196. know, but I know that's not me. It's God's grace because I knew

  197. I messed up. I knew I didn't prepare. I knew I was talking

  198. nonsense. But God's grace saved them all. But it's because I say yes,

  199. Yes, God, yes, God, Yes, God, Amen.

  200. Mission trips, after mission ships, after that my life as a teenager bro

  201. I had to deliver babies. Yeah. We went to some village, walk

  202. three hours out. Our bus came late. Our bus was not there,

  203. stuck suddenly or some women is creaming. Some villages came out and said,

  204. ah, Marie. I'm like, I don't know, like this is friendly

  205. as someone to pray, Marie, marry Marie. What happened? This lady

  206. has been in labor for many, many hours since morning until now. The

  207. baby cannot come on. Can you pray? I'm fifteen years old. No,

  208. I've never seen a woman scream of that, So I'm like, prayer,

  209. okay, God, you please deliver the baby. Then the buss came.

  210. Thank God, we need to see the baby come out. Get on.

  211. The bus went back to the village. The origin was a base.

  212. Later we get a letter from them saying the moment we left the bus,

  213. the baby came out. Whoa I was, I'm fifteen years old, deliver

  214. baby. Prayed for rain. There was a drought in the village we were

  215. in. Prayed for rain. The rain came down. Prayed for the paddy

  216. field. Had to walk hours to get to the petty field pray and then

  217. walk back. But that year the paddy was three times more than usual.

  218. I mean, we saw all these miracles. Why because I'm so great,

  219. because I'm so powerful. Now we simply sit yes, God, Okay God.

  220. It's embarrassing to me, but I'll say yes, Okay God. I'm

  221. not comfortable, but I'll say yes, Okay, God. I've never been

  222. here before. I've never done this before. But I was saying, yes,

  223. God. It cost me something, but I'll say yes. I don't

  224. know this is the old one say, but I want to speak to teenagers.

  225. You know when I was a teenager, you know what I did every

  226. Friday night. I don't know, you're thinking maybe party, maybe some kind

  227. of life. No, man, every Friday night I was in the prayer

  228. meeting, prayer meeting, bro speaking in tanks one half hours. My past

  229. to say, Okay, are you face the wall? Okay, face the

  230. wall? Okay. I want you to ask the whole spirit, what is

  231. your fre wedding? I don't even know that's proper to little training or not,

  232. but it happened now and it's how we learn to see fishers PROPOSI and

  233. so I went to a camp and there was this boy there from Epoh and

  234. never made before. And I said, brother, I was praying for you.

  235. Do you have stomach problems? How you know? I don't know.

  236. God knows. God on me. Yeah, of course also a problem.

  237. Yes, sir, let me pray for you. He gets healed. Say

  238. yes to God. Amen. That's my simple message today. Our lives become

  239. an adventure when we say yes to good. Imagine every single day you're saying

  240. yes to God's invitation because the alternative is this obedience. I don't even know.

  241. Last week I said that. Last week I said you you you should

  242. thank God you're not Abraham and God asked you to sacrifice your son. Can

  243. you imagine? You don't who got the instruction today? It gos just like,

  244. come on, pray for mom. It's canela, God diet loud,

  245. the moral presentation. Hey, can you help the church with some pecking?

  246. Can? I'm sure the wo can help, right, I am very busy.

  247. I don't know today's dead. Imagine you woke up one day say God,

  248. God tells you to sacrifice your son, or like go and burn your

  249. car, or like can you go and you know, destroy your house something

  250. like that, and Abraham brought his son on the way to maul Moriah.

  251. Someone asked him, hey, bro, where are you going? Well,

  252. bro, what you're doing is early in the morning. What did he say?

  253. Did he gives some wake kind of like, oh, Noah, I'm

  254. having some father and son time, or what do you mean what I'm doing?

  255. I'm going hiking louder? Can't you see he think he's he? He

  256. he called it what it is? What do you think he's it? I'm

  257. gonna go kill my son? No, no, no, he didn't say

  258. that either. He said I'm going to worship, knowing he's going up there

  259. to slaughter the sun. He calls that worship because child slaughtering is worship,

  260. is it? Oh that sounds some religion, I know. No, No,

  261. it's not. It's not the act. It's the fact that God asked

  262. him to do a and he is going to do a and the obedience that's

  263. worship. If God said Abraham, I want you to go up to the

  264. mountain and dance open Gandam style, and he went up there, that's worship.

  265. Do because it's a dance. No, because God said do a dance,

  266. and he did a dance. Worship is obedience. And by the way,

  267. he's not a controversy. You know, the whole whole thing about leaving

  268. sacrifices. We think it's radical, and it's actually only reasonable. So we

  269. look at Abraham and what radical radical faith? Do you know? It's quite

  270. normal those days, No, literally, quite primitive time. They quite literally

  271. a lot of them actually sacrifice their own children. So maybe we Heren go,

  272. oh so barbaric to them. He was like, oh, sacrifice son,

  273. now, okay, La, I'm not minimizing. I'm just saying,

  274. don't don't minimize or turn over fantast eyes or speculate or make it more than

  275. it is or less than it is. God's asking us to live as a

  276. living sacrifice, live a life of obedience. And so if can't ever ask

  277. you to give up your job, if he ever, if he ever's that's

  278. that, what's the right answer? Yes God, It's tough, but yes

  279. God. And then your life become an adventure because you don't know what's next.

  280. He said, the roller coaster you're going up? Okay, I say,

  281. yes, I give her the job. Brendan, whoa, what's next?

  282. You don't know? God knows, So you're continuously having to trust and

  283. depend on God. Amen, I'm asking us to say yes to God.

  284. Secondly, our lives become a miracle because after yes, it's miracle because you're

  285. saying yes by faith. Everything else after is not up to humor. So

  286. you choose that. We have to choose what kind of life you wanna live.

  287. We want to live the life where I plan everything, I worked out

  288. it all. This is I'm successful because I've done it. Sure live that

  289. life. Oh, you say yes to God and like wow, everything after

  290. that is like God, you better come true. Amen, our lives become

  291. a miracle. Eph'esis Stree twenty says, by his money power at work within

  292. us, God is able to accomplish infinitely more than we could ever die.

  293. Dare to ask or hope meant to nine to eight two thirty says Jesus ask

  294. do you believe I can make you see? And he says what yes,

  295. Rod, They told him we do we believe. Then he touches eye tear

  296. eyes and said, because of your faith, it will happen, And suddenly

  297. they could see we can. I don't live a life where we are in

  298. charge, we are responsible. We have to plan it. We have to

  299. make it work. And some people are comfortable because at least I know.

  300. At least I know because I made these choices and make these investments. God

  301. is saying, say yes to me, and you have no no. You

  302. know what happens after that, it's a miracle. Everything that happens after that

  303. is America. I'm leaving a miracle. Now sometimes doesn't make sense. And

  304. know here he knows this, he can verify when we were a band.

  305. You're making it as a band. You you you you do gieks so you

  306. can sell your albums. You most events are were weekends, right, I

  307. know. We made a decision. We said, you know what, this

  308. is how we're gonna honor God because we all everybody needs that tree, that

  309. tree in the garden, something you just don't touch that reminds you who's God.

  310. And so we say, as a band, you know what, We're

  311. all from different churches, so it's quite hard to sink conest or schedule.

  312. Got this church, got something on that, you got something. But we

  313. said, as long as one of us have something on in our church,

  314. we are saying no to the gig. Hey, how to make it?

  315. Now? All the big events on weekends. How to make it so we

  316. have to say, no, we can't do this gig, we can't do

  317. that concert, we can't do that. Why because somebody one case and has

  318. something in this church, someone in that church. We have to say no,

  319. are you? And I am I'm usually the one who gets invitation.

  320. I'm not who replied the email. I'm so painful. Sorry, Yeah,

  321. we cannot make it. Some we can say we got church. Someone we

  322. say we got church to be like you Ka. One time I was working

  323. on missa can can. We're not legalistics of course can miss but we chose

  324. not to, just choose not to because we needed something in our life that

  325. reminds us who is God? And I think we just made it too easy

  326. for ourselves Christians. We've made it too easy for ourselves. Oh nobody says

  327. Sunday is a saba. Yeah, sure, but you got to have a

  328. Sabbath the Lord's Day. Really And so although we turned down so many geeks

  329. say not to so many weekend events, we're the ones that they call to

  330. open for a big American band called Switch Food. How because if you honor

  331. God, he will honor you. You honor God, he will honor you.

  332. How does a song that says Jesus Christ is a lot of all five

  333. times in the song get on Malaysian radio? How doesn't make sense? And

  334. the radio station, upon realizing that, oh my gosh, the station manager

  335. who is from a another religion, made a big mess. They said,

  336. at band, our band from the radio station, never again will we play

  337. this band's song our dreams crush. Only for a few months later the same

  338. radio station who has a TV show invites us onto the TV show and on

  339. the TV show and remember not they requested for the song because it's the special.

  340. Hey, you got that song? Can you sing the song two times

  341. in the show at the beginning and the end? Can you sing it again?

  342. All? Lord? Oh God, I didn't keep it. Jesus Christ

  343. is Lord? How does it happen? A bunch of guys just decided,

  344. you know what, God is number one, and we say yes to him.

  345. You decide the third point and how close to this is our heart will

  346. become at peace. There will be peace because you know you've obeyed God and

  347. you're not wondering like, oh so hmmm, I hope God won't judge me.

  348. I hope No. Peace is not the absence of fear, doubt or

  349. rask. Okay us, peace is the presence of God. When you say

  350. yes to God, your heart will be at peace. You know that you're

  351. walking in the path that God has set for you. And there's no word

  352. is, no doubts, no fear. John sixteen thirty three. I've told

  353. you all day so that in trusting me, if you trust me, by

  354. saying yes to me, you will be unshakeable and assured deeply at peace.

  355. Say yes to God and you will live a life of peace. No worries

  356. were good. So okay, I'm trying. I'm trying to challenge us here,

  357. inspire us, and encourage us here to live a life that says yes

  358. to God. I don't know what that means, because for someone o us

  359. here, it's going to come at a big price. A high price.

  360. Could cost you a job, could cost you an hour with your girlfriend,

  361. could cause you I don't know, your favorite TV show or something something.

  362. But I pray when that moment comes to remember, gonna say yes. Gonna

  363. say yes, because I'm a revengure with God, and I know by saying

  364. yes right after this, this after this woman is a miracle because God's gonna

  365. have to show up because I've obeyed, and you know you will be at

  366. peace even though sometimes you don't know what's next. Abraham was at peace although

  367. he didn't know where he was going, because he knew he was going where

  368. God wants him to go. Amen. Thank you for joining us on the
