  1. Hello, and welcome to the Generation's Church Podcast. We're so excited to have

  2. you here today. It is our prayer that God's word will inspire and help

  3. you grow in your faith. Now, let's get right into it. Okay.

  4. I want to share quickly with you now from a passage in the Bible,

  5. and he's found in Genesis chapter twelve, was one to nine. And

  6. this is a story of when Abram he wasn't Abraham yet, yeah, you

  7. can get not quite Abraham, yet he was still Abraham. Where God called

  8. him to go to a foreign place he lived, well, he lived in

  9. uh went to a place called Haran, because that's where the father stopped.

  10. And then they settled there, and then the father died, and then God

  11. called him to get up from there. There's no way you're supposed to be.

  12. Turn to a neighbor and say it's no way you're supposed to be.

  13. Turn to your other neighbor and say it's not where you're supposed to be.

  14. Hah, okay, all right. So God told Abraham, Hey, there's

  15. a place where you're supposed to be. I'm asking you to go there.

  16. Now, Abraham had no clue where is this place or how to get there,

  17. all right, this is the story we're reading. He says. Here

  18. now, the Lord say to Abraham, go from your country and your kindred

  19. and your father's house to the land that I will show you. You don't

  20. know where it is yet, but I will show it to you. Amen.

  21. How many believe that while you're in this camp, God's gonna show you

  22. some things you've never seen before. God's gonna show you something. Maybe it's

  23. a part of Him you've never seen before. Maybe you think God is boring.

  24. God is anything but boring. Amen? How many I believe that in

  25. this camp God can show you a side of Him that you never seen before.

  26. Maybe for some of you, when someone tells you God is a father,

  27. can I be real with you? You actually hate that? You actually

  28. hate hearing that God is a father because maybe just maybe the father you know

  29. in your life is not so kind? Oh? Am I being real?

  30. Not so hah? If God is a father, I don't want him.

  31. Can he be a mother instead? But maybe God will show you something different

  32. this camp. I believe he will do that. Can you be open to

  33. that? And God showed Abraham I will show you this place. Just go,

  34. I'll show you and I will make you a great nation, and God

  35. gives him a promise if you were just listen to my voice and go away.

  36. I show you this is I will do this now. Maybe your promise

  37. is not exactly like this. Maybe you're not going to be a father of

  38. many nations because you're not a father, you're a girl. Ah, but

  39. there is a promise. God will give you a promise. Somebody say,

  40. promise. The thing I know about my God is he's a promise keeping God.

  41. We sometimes struggle to keep promises. Teacher, I will hand up the

  42. model, and then we don't mathille, I'll come home by ten o'clock,

  43. and then we don't. Right, Okay, I won't do this anymore,

  44. and we all right. So but but God is a promise keeping God.

  45. Amen, And so God makes these promises. I will make you a great

  46. nation. I will bless you, and I will make your name great,

  47. so that you will be a blessing. Firstry, I will bless those who

  48. bless you, him who dishonors you our curse, and in you all the

  49. families of the earth shall be blessed. So Abraham, thank God for him.

  50. He did it. He did what God said. He went he didn't

  51. know where he was going. He didn't know exactly where to stop. But

  52. God said go, and you went. So Abram went, and the Lord

  53. had told him a lot where sometimes sometimes people go with you, not every

  54. time. The point here is not is everybody coming along with me? Because

  55. in this camp there will be moments where you will be felt, you will

  56. feel like you need to go, need to take a step forward, whether

  57. it's metaphorical or whether it is real word to be for you, or whether

  58. it's like like for real you have to step forward, or just in your

  59. heart you step forward to something. You got a few moments there, and

  60. sometimes you'll you'll be tempted to see, he's my friend going, Is anyone

  61. else going? If no one's going, I don't want to be the first

  62. one. There might be moments like that, and so sometimes people go with

  63. you, sometimes they don't. Not many people in your Abraham just Lot his

  64. cousin, Okay, I'll go with you. It's fine, went with him.

  65. And then Abram was seventy five years old. He was seventy five when

  66. he started Guess what a new Adventure. The theme of this camp is new

  67. adventer Abraham at seventy five years old. None of you is. You're dead

  68. old here. Okay, you're way more qualified, way more prime, way

  69. more prepared to go on a new adventure. He's seventy five, he's the

  70. age of your grandpa. And he started a new adventure. But he did,

  71. he did. When he departed Harun, and Abraham took Sarah his wife,

  72. and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered,

  73. and all and the people that they had quiet in Haran. They set

  74. out to go to the land of Canaan. And when they came to the

  75. land of Canaan, where God led him to, Abram passed through the land

  76. to the place of Sekhem, to the oak of Moray, all these names

  77. that sounds like from Lord of the Rings. At the time the Canaanites were

  78. in the land. Then the Lord appeared to Abraham and said, to your

  79. offspring, I will give this land. So he built there and alter.

  80. Someone said alter, we'll come back to his word in a while, but

  81. say alter again. There he built an altar the place where God led him

  82. to. He built an altar to the Lord who had appeared to him.

  83. From there he moved to the hill country of the on the east of Bethel,

  84. and pitch his hand with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east.

  85. And there he built an altar. Someone said, altar. There he

  86. is again. Every time he comes to this significant place, he builds and

  87. what altar? And then he called upon the name of the Lord. I

  88. saw the Lord, and he heard, and he answered Amen. And Abraham

  89. journeyed on one adventure to another, one adventure to another. Amen, and

  90. still going toward the app Four points I want to give you, because it's

  91. not a full message. Four things. Number one, I want to encourage

  92. every single one of you, whether it's your first time in a generation youth

  93. camp, first time in a camp ever, first come in a church event,

  94. ever, these songs are foreign to you. Whatever I need you to

  95. have. Somebody say, have slip, say have these four things. Number

  96. one, Just like Abraham, we all need to have something called faith.

  97. Somebody say faith. I encourage you, I urge you, please in this

  98. camp have faith. Faith means the ability to believe in something that you do

  99. not see. If you see something and I tell you, hey, I'm

  100. handsome, and then you're like, yeah, I believe that's not faith.

  101. Thank you. I know, I'm just saying what you on your mind.

  102. I'm married, by the way. My wife is over there. Jay is

  103. my wife. This is my son's ian. Yes, that's where he God,

  104. it's good. Yeah, okay, cool? Yes, yeah, so

  105. I'm marry. I'm taken. I'm so sorry, but you gotta have faith.

  106. Most of us we want Okay, you show me, then I'll go.

  107. You show me where I'm going. Let me see whether there's any crocodiles,

  108. any random rhinos there, because you never know what you get with a

  109. rhino, right, A rhino that pushes up, a rhino that sits up.

  110. I don't know. Is it not true? Show me, show me

  111. that this works, Show me that this is there anyone else that tried this

  112. thing and then it works for them? Show me that then then now I'll

  113. take it too. I wonder how many of you here would care to admit

  114. that that's basically our attitude towards anything, especially spiritual things, especially all this

  115. God stuff, this religious stuff. Ah, the worker most of us show

  116. then I'll go. Is it safe? It's okay, but you know,

  117. but God said go, then I'll show Oh my gosh, what the ballet

  118. one? How this is so nerve wrecking, this is so scary. Go

  119. then I'll show God. Excuse me, God, hello? Is that how

  120. it works? If I'm gonna go somewhere, You're gonna show me where I'm

  121. going, then I'll go. No, no, no, God says you

  122. go, then I'll show you where to go. This is what you need

  123. to have in this camp. It's a good have faith. Can I tell

  124. you something I just realized on the drive because it was a very long drive,

  125. Oh my gosh, so long. I had a lot of time to

  126. think, and I just realized, today is eleventh November, Right, eleven

  127. November. You know what happened one year exactly one year ago? No,

  128. shoppy, let me backtrack fifty three weeks ago. They miss one week before

  129. the one year. One week before eleven November. I was at home and

  130. I had been praying for over a month for some time now God, because

  131. God was telling me this stuff last year in October. Go and I'll show

  132. you go. I'm like, go where. I didn't know it was Start

  133. Generations Church. One year ago, fourth November. I was at home and

  134. God had already put in my heart go go plant this church. I didn't

  135. know it's going to be called generations. I didn't know. I didn't know

  136. nothing. I didn't know that a year later there'll be fifty over young people

  137. in this room. Amen, you know. And there at home, I

  138. was in my heart thinking, okay, God, I'll go. Then you

  139. show me. Ah, i'll go. You better show me. Okay,

  140. okay, God, I say, I say in my heart I'll go.

  141. Then my wife comes to me and say, you don't go on not quite

  142. that way. What she's what she actually said was, dear, if you

  143. ever go, they must go from where you were. Then if you ever

  144. go from this place, I have not left that place for twenty years,

  145. quite comfortable, settled, already picked my ten, build my bungalow. I

  146. don't have a bunklow. No, I'm quite comfortable. And then my wife

  147. says, if you ever leave this place, don't you dare plan a church,

  148. don't you dare start a church? Do anything but do that? Don't.

  149. I'm like, I'm confused. God. I after the months of praying

  150. for all that, all that kind of thing, God, I thought,

  151. I thought you you sent people to tell me this is where I'm where I'm

  152. supposed to go to. What I'm supposed to do. And here comes my

  153. wife, the most important piece of the puzzle. Here comes She's she's at

  154. home saying, don'ta don't start a church. You want you go work for

  155. another church, or you start an n G O, or start a company

  156. and do, but don't start a church. I'm like, God, I'm

  157. super confused because you spoke to me through so many different confirmations, like it's

  158. like undeniable stuff that happened that tells me I've got to go. Then God

  159. show, here comes my wife said, don't go. Super confused, and

  160. then I had to I realized I haven't spoken to her about what God had

  161. shown me, all the different parts. I thought, maybe if I will

  162. share with her, then she will be convinced too, and then go with

  163. me. And then I heard a voice and some of you, you're gonna

  164. hear voice, not voices, like you're gonna hear this still small voice.

  165. It's gonna feel like it's gonna feel like you don't really know this voice yet,

  166. but it feels familiar. That's the spirit of God that will speak to

  167. you in this camp. And that their voice told me don't talk to her

  168. two times out, don't say a word, don't say, ah, how

  169. how does this work? You told me to go? My wife said,

  170. don't go. I want to try to convince her to go. Now you

  171. tell me, don't tell her. I'm like, okay, God, I

  172. will I'll just okay, I won't say anything. I'll be steady. All

  173. I told her was, dear, I'm gonna fast and pray next week.

  174. She said, oh, when are you fasting and praying? I gave her

  175. a date and she's like, okay, I'll fast and pray. But we

  176. didn't discuss what we're gonna pray about one week later, eleventh November, one

  177. year ago, exactly one year ago eleven. Remember we were sitting in a

  178. restaurant. She was having carry laxa. I still remember. And then I

  179. was like rushing back to the office. And then she took out her phone

  180. and said, Hey, before you go, can you please do you have

  181. some time to hear my proposal, my ideas for our new church? Huh?

  182. Sorry, what do you say our new church? What are you talking

  183. about? Last week you said, don't do this, don't you dare do

  184. this? I don't want to do this, and now you want to you

  185. have you? She got organizational chart, written out, schedule written out,

  186. different ministry releases out. She's like, she's got a whole plan one year

  187. ago today one you go wow, and I needed faith to do this.

  188. To that, I'm so thankful that I took this step because if you had

  189. not taken this step, I won't be able to meet all your wonderful people

  190. and hear all your crazy cheers and look at your beautiful faces right now A

  191. kelp, come on. So I want to encourage all of you to have

  192. this thing called faith. Actually you already have it, you just need to

  193. activate it. Faith. Faith means okay, God, I will go.

  194. Then you show me how it's okay to be like, okay, call you

  195. better help me because we are got children, right, but we gotta go.

  196. We gotta go even even we don't have all the data, all the

  197. details, the whole blue we don't have yet. That's faith. Secondly,

  198. is you've gotta have an altar. Someone say alter Abraham build an altar.

  199. Every time got l him to a place, he goes there, he builds

  200. an altar. Amen. An altar is a place of worship. It's a

  201. place of worship. I want you to build altars in this camp moments of

  202. worship. You're gonna have a lot of fun. Trust me, We've done

  203. camps seventeen years quite fun. Even I like my camps. So it's gonna

  204. be great. It'll be great. It'll be fun. You have a lot

  205. of fun. You're probably gonna be talking about all the all the crazy stuff

  206. happened in your life in this camp. Great, wonderful. The T shirt

  207. is nice, you let your goldie bag, the com Ludles is awesome,

  208. talk shop is amazing, your angel is handsome. Whatever, Okay. But

  209. in the middles of all that build an altar and alter is a place of

  210. worship. So when it comes to worship, give it all you've got.

  211. Amen, you could have had an altar. These are the moments that will

  212. change your life. These are the moments that will change your life. You

  213. will know what hit you, okay, God, Wow, You feel all

  214. kinds of things. For some of you will feel peace and you can't explain.

  215. Your life is in the term, or your family's messed up, but

  216. you can feel peace. Somehow can explain it. Some of you will feel

  217. so loved you never felt so loved before. Some of you will feel for

  218. the first time you're not alone anymore. I don't know about you feel,

  219. but in God's presence as you worship him, he really is gonna show up.

  220. Building an altar and all. There is a place of place of prayer.

  221. Allow yourself to pray, even you have never prayed to this God before,

  222. give yourself a chance, O man. Prayer is not a formula.

  223. Pray is not some kind of like mumbo jumbo some are you Okay, it's

  224. not one of those. Pray is just this. It's not the words,

  225. it's not the language you pray in. Prayer basically is dependency of God.

  226. We pray because we need your God. I need your help. You're bigger

  227. than me, You're stronger than I am, You're cleverer than I. So

  228. I pray because that thing called prayer shows that I depend on you, rely

  229. on you. I need you God. Amen prayer. So in this camp,

  230. allow yourself to have moments of prayer morning, nine, afternoon, before

  231. you eat, just before you fight, in water, war, whatever,

  232. pray, pray and also allow people to pray for you. Sometimes it helps

  233. somebody prays for you. Sometimes the words is given to another person for what

  234. you feel in your heart. Okay, something you're gonna experience that. You're

  235. like, you come up here and people pray for you, Like, how

  236. do you know everything? You're stalking me out? You know, it's a

  237. holy spirit who knows what's going on in your life. Gave the words to

  238. the other person, and then the other person prays for you. Can you

  239. allow yourself to have moments of prayer? Author of worship? Auto of prayer?

  240. Is that okay? And all? There is a place of remembrance to

  241. you know why they build altars in the olden days. Basically they do not

  242. have Google Maps. They're gonna Google map to pin the rappin an you know,

  243. the rappin Google mat rappin. This is the rippin those days, the

  244. opinion authors. So then when they want one day pass, you know,

  245. ah, yeah, this is where God. Hey, this is where God

  246. touched me. This is where God answer my prayer. Hey, this is

  247. where God hear me. And author is a place of remembrance. Can I

  248. challenge you encourage you to build memories in this camp? I mean significant memories.

  249. They come memories where if you maybe just one year later, we do

  250. came here again, you come back here. You remember this is where I

  251. cry my eyeballs out and let everything out like I don't care, Like I

  252. don't care who watches anymore, who thinks of what of me? Anymore?

  253. I don't care because not about I don't care who thinks one of me?

  254. I said, it's just me and God here right here, or even the

  255. stand is do there? Altars are places of remembrance. I don't want you

  256. to look batter in your life one day and have nothing to remember. I

  257. mean nothing significant. I remember the time I fell into a long gun.

  258. I remember when I hunted cats down. I remember all those things too,

  259. But I also remember where I cry my eyeballs out. I remember those auto

  260. calls. Okay, when you come up to the front, it's called an

  261. auto car. Remember those auto casts where someone said, hey, how of

  262. you believe that God is calling you to serve him full time, like as

  263. a bastard or something like that. I remember walking out there as a young

  264. person and say, yes, Lord, I am. I remember those moments.

  265. I remember those moments where you know I was addicted to pawn for like

  266. thirteen years and could not break it in my own strength, in my own

  267. way. What porn blockerls Okay, it didn't work like, okay, yo,

  268. find a way one, but it's not. It wasn't until God delivered

  269. me, and like, oh break free. Those moments are precious. Those

  270. are my altars. What's yours? You got to have these altars of remembers

  271. that okay, build moments of worship. Alters are place of beginnings. He

  272. comes to a place, he builds an alter, he starts a new adventure.

  273. Amen. So I pray that all of you here will have a new

  274. beginning. Whatever, whoever the person you was when you came, I pray

  275. you will leave this place different than you came, not in a bad way,

  276. in a very good way. Amen. Alters a new beginnings. You'll

  277. be very sad if we if any of us go home and don't have a

  278. new beginning, you wouldn't be Why we did cam. We didn't spend all

  279. this money for us to go back to same old same. We didn't do

  280. all of this so that we can oh just go back to same old same.

  281. We want to be a new person. Amen. Alters are places of

  282. beginnings. Alters is where fire comes upon it right the sacrifice. Fire talks

  283. about purpose, passion, power. These are things that you will discover and

  284. experience in this place. If you allow God to set you on fire,

  285. you become the altar. Say got here, and I'm here, worshiping you,

  286. praying to you, building memories with you, God studying you and fresh

  287. with you. And here I am or the altar. Set me on fire,

  288. Set me on fire, not literally like clambering. Set me on fire,

  289. from a cold heart to a heart that burns. Young people are supposed

  290. to be known for passion, but many young people today don't have passion for

  291. anything because it's just too tiring to a passion. Because how many times do

  292. you want to dream of something when you keep on having your dreams crushed?

  293. Right, So we get very tired at dreaming anymore, at wanting to believe

  294. a better nation, or better life, or better family. It's fair tiring.

  295. But I pray that that will all change. There will not be the

  296. case for any of you. Here go back home with this new energy to

  297. dream. I don't talk about I'm not talking about like a dream to be

  298. the best footballer, best car racer. All that is good, it's good.

  299. But I'm talking about like dream bigger things, like God, something's good,

  300. It's gonna happen in my family. Something good is gonna happen in my

  301. relationships, my friendships, something's gonna go something, something is gonna happen in

  302. my studies. Good stuff. God, you gotta do it, fi Oh

  303. God, and his power is gonna release that. Amen. Because you've gotta

  304. have faith, You've gotta have and alter and altimates all those things. You've

  305. gotta have sensitivity. Somebody says sensitivity. To do this, you need to

  306. learn to not be so distracted, especially in moments like this. I want

  307. you to tune in as best as you can and ask this a few questions.

  308. What is God saying to me? Even right now as you listen to

  309. what I'm saying, What is God saying to you through what I'm saying to

  310. you? The question is not what I'm saying to you. I know what

  311. I'm saying to you, like you know, I gonna have faith all that,

  312. But what is God saying to you in all of this? I pray

  313. through every session you're asking God, God, I want to be sensitive.

  314. What are you saying to me? What does God want to do in my

  315. life? What do you think God wants to do in your life? What

  316. does he want to remove from you? What does he want to add to

  317. you God? What are you saying to me God? What you want to

  318. do in my life? Be sensitive? Third one is what does God want

  319. you to do to change? To stop? What does he want? I

  320. pray? Be asking this question throughout this camp and be sensitive. I guarantee

  321. you God will speak. And then the final one is you could have trust

  322. and then you obey Abraham trusted completely. I don't know where I'm going.

  323. I will go. Then your show trust and obey. Just do it.

  324. Just do it. You're feel in your heart I should go out for prayer.

  325. Just do it. You're feeling how you should confess with somebody. I

  326. will tell you, oh my dear, the secrets, the way I keep

  327. my mother's shoes. Okay, just do it. You'll cry. I will

  328. just do it. We have tissoes. Don't worry, you feel like kneeling.

  329. Just do it. Good things, bad things, don't do it,

  330. just do it, trust and obey. Amen. You gotta have FATS.

  331. I want to have you remember this message. You gotta have FATS. FATS

  332. is faith, alter, trust, and sensitivity. I know I can make

  333. it fast too, but it won't be as sticky. FATS is better Okay,

  334. in this camp, fat is better than fast. You gotta have fats

  335. everybody. Faith alter one A alters A place of worship, a place of
