  1. Hi, and welcome to the Willow Ridge Church weekly podcast.

  2. This is where you can find audio for our current and past sermons.

  3. We hope that you enjoy this week's installment, and be sure to check back next week to hear

  4. the latest message.

  5. Thanks for listening.

  6. Going to open up to Galatians chapter 1.

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  7. As you do that, I want to tell everybody, Happy New Year.

  8. Glad that you're here with us as we're starting off a new series, as we're starting off a

  9. new year.

  10. For us, as we're starting off this new One Service, as we gather in here together, we are glad

  11. that you are here and that you are worshiping with us.

  12. You saw it on the screen.

  13. You'll hear it a couple more times.

  14. We want you to come back tonight, all right?

  15. There's a chili cook-off happening, all right?

  16. There's no place that I would rather be this evening than right here gathered with my closest

  17. friends and family and experiencing as many different bowls of chili as absolutely possible.

  18. And so, if you've got one and I want you to bring it, there is a competition.

  19. Not only is there a competition for chili, but there's a competition for desserts, right?

  20. So, whether you're a sweet or a savory person, we've got both of those for you, all right?

  21. So, I want to make sure that you come back, bring something, bring a chili, bring something

  22. sweet, bring one or the other, but the preference is that you would absolutely bring both.

  23. That's my preference, right?

  24. So, come back tonight as we have that time.

  25. You know what God did for us?

  26. It was summer all last week.

  27. God brought the cold.

  28. No better time for chili than when it's cold outside.

  29. So, make sure that you are here with us.

  30. Well, as we're starting off with this new service, I want to kind of remind you guys about the

  31. flow and how things are going and what we're doing.

  32. And we will, together today as a church family, take part in the Lord's Supper together.

  33. And that is going to be something that we do the first Sunday of every month.

  34. And so, if that's an important thing for you like it is for me, then you might want to make

  35. sure that you're here definitely for the first service, or for the first Sunday, not first

  36. service, first Sunday of each month as we have that together.

  37. Something else that maybe you weren't aware of, because on our first Sunday of the month,

  38. we'll have first grade through fifth grade with us in the building.

  39. And so, Dawn and the kids team has put together these kids handouts, all right?

  40. And so, they're going to help the kids track through the message.

  41. They're going to help them follow the points.

  42. It's got the scripture on the back and some extra areas where they can take notes.

  43. And so, kids, if you didn't get one today, that's all right.

  44. Next month, we'll have them available for you as well to kind of help you track through.

  45. Now, kids, here's where you can really benefit with these, all right?

  46. How many of you sometimes for the little kids, you get in the car, and your parents are like,

  47. so what did you learn today, right?

  48. And they give you the test, right?

  49. We do that with our kids.

  50. Kids, next time, next first Sunday of the month, grab one of these.

  51. You're riding home.

  52. Mom and dad are driving.

  53. Pull it out.

  54. So, dad, what did you learn today, right?

  55. You can test them, all right?

  56. This is what we're working toward as a family, but we can grab these and have these together.

  57. So, thank you, Dawn and her team for getting those out for our kids today.

  58. We're going to be studying the book of Galatians over the next several weeks and over the next

  59. several months.

  60. And it's important that we understand what is happening in this letter.

  61. Who's writing it?

  62. Why are they writing it?

  63. And what are they addressing as we go through?

  64. So, this letter is written by the Apostle Paul to the church at Galatia, to the Galatian

  65. people, which is why it's called the letter of Galatians.

  66. Now, what Paul would do is Paul would plant a church, and then he would move on from that

  67. church to plant another church.

  68. If you've ever heard of the phrase church planner, today, Paul was the first church planner

  69. that we see in biblical history as we move forward.

  70. He's the most dynamic church planner that the world has ever known.

  71. And so, what Paul would do is he would plant a church, he would stay there for a certain

  72. time, he would raise up the congregation, he would raise up another pastor, and then he

  73. would leave it, and he would entrust, like he did with Timothy and Ephesus, he would leave

  74. the authority with a pastor there, and then he would move on.

  75. But periodically, from time to time, Paul would check back in with the church, and this

  76. would happen through letters.

  77. Hey, how are things going?

  78. What are the problems?

  79. What are the successes?

  80. What are the wins?

  81. And as Paul would hear back from the church what was happening and taking place, sometimes

  82. he would write letters and he would praise them and praise God for the work that was being

  83. done.

  84. But sometimes Paul needed to instruct or correct things that were happening and things that

  85. were taking place.

  86. And that's what we're going to look at with this letter to the Galatian people.

  87. Now, there were two factors that Paul's going to address throughout this letter that we need

  88. to be aware of.

  89. This letter will address some social and racial divisions that come within the church.

  90. You see, when the church first started spreading, racially speaking, the people that were coming

  91. to faith were of Jewish race.

  92. They were of a Jewish faith, and they left the faith to become followers of Jesus Christ.

  93. And that's where the church first began and first took off.

  94. But as the church began to grow and began to expand, Gentiles started coming in, those who

  95. weren't of Jewish faith before, those who weren't of Jewish race before.

  96. And so with more and more culturally Jews and with more and more culturally Gentiles coming

  97. together, there began to be some problems and some divisions within the church.

  98. And so as Paul was going to point out about how the gospel unifies in so many different

  99. ways, Paul, throughout this letter, is going to address some social issues and some racial

  100. issues and even some culture issues that we're going to dive into.

  101. But the primary thing that Paul is going to address in this is the nature of the gospel.

  102. This is going to be the theme that overwhelmingly takes and continues on for the Galatian people

  103. for their foundation of not only their faith, but of their life.

  104. And it's why I love that we're starting off this series at the beginning of the year, this

  105. time of year, because what will be a reminder for us is the foundation for which we set our

  106. lives on, the foundation for which we live our lives on, but then the foundation for which

  107. we continue our lives with.

  108. That the gospel will infiltrate all of these aspects of our life.

  109. And it's what rings true for the Galatian people.

  110. Specifically, the issue that Paul was having to work through with the Galatian people is

  111. the concept that the gospel wasn't enough.

  112. For them, they were teaching that it was Jesus, it was the gospel, but then it was all of these

  113. other things as well.

  114. Remember, I said earlier that primarily that the followers who had largely become Christians

  115. first were Jewish believers.

  116. And so what would typically happen in their faith was they would receive the gospel of

  117. Christ, but then they would continue on in a lot of their Jewish customs or their lot of

  118. Jewish traditions.

  119. And that's fine.

  120. There's nothing wrong with that as long as it's the understanding that the gospel in and

  121. of itself only is what saves you.

  122. But not only what saves you, but what keeps you.

  123. And what is beginning to happen in Galatia is they say to these Gentile believers, look, look,

  124. it's not just enough that you're saved, but then culturally speaking, you also need to adapt

  125. these things in if you are going to be saved.

  126. And so Paul addresses that.

  127. Paul's going to begin this letter by addressing the heart of the gospel, the point of the gospel,

  128. and what we respond to the gospel.

  129. So here's going to be the foundation of this sermon series as we go through this.

  130. Number one is this, is that the gospel is how we enter into the kingdom.

  131. That's the first thing I want us to understand about the gospel.

  132. That the gospel is how everyone in the world gets saved.

  133. It's how you enter into the kingdom.

  134. It is the gospel and the gospel alone that saves us.

  135. And Jesus is himself the heart of the gospel.

  136. If you remove Jesus from gospel, it's not gospel.

  137. If you remove his birth from the gospel, it's not gospel.

  138. If you remove his crucifixion, it's not gospel.

  139. If you remove his resurrection, it's not gospel.

  140. That Jesus is and of himself the heart of the gospel.

  141. And it's why he says that he is the way, that he is the truth, that he is the life.

  142. And that no one, in all-encompassing word, that no one comes to the Father except by him.

  143. No other works.

  144. No other ways.

  145. No other gods.

  146. No other faiths.

  147. in Jesus alone. And so when we talk about eternity, when we think about heaven, when we think about

  148. the eternal kingdom of God, the entrance into that is found in Jesus, in Jesus alone.

  149. So the gospel is how we enter. But then also is this, the gospel is how we live as a part

  150. of the kingdom. And that's the other thing that Paul's going to work through in this letter,

  151. that not only is what the gospel does is to bring you into the kingdom, into the future of the hope

  152. that we sing for, of what we raise our hands in proclamation of what the future holds for us

  153. in the coming of Christ and the calling of the saints to him, but that also that the gospel is

  154. doing something here with us, that the gospel is actually working in us now, and that we need

  155. the gospel here. That not through some morality, not that through some religious rules, not through

  156. some works, but that the gospel is how we live. It's why it's so important that for those of us as

  157. believers, that we think that the gospel is for non-believers. And so we proclaim and that we

  158. teach and that we explain the gospel to them in hopes that they might be saved. But then we fill

  159. up churches all over the world that says, well, the gospel is for them. Give me something for me. But it

  160. all rests in and roots in the gospel, that the gospel for you and I as believers in Jesus Christ is how

  161. we live as a part of the kingdom. So the gospel for me is just as important now, 19 years after I got

  162. saved, as it was in the moment when I got saved. That the gospel is how I live as a part of the

  163. kingdom. That for me in my life, the gospel sets the standard. For me in my life, that the gospel is at

  164. work in us now and that the gospel is what works through us. It is the power and it is the nature

  165. of the gospel. I heard a pastor say one time that as followers of Jesus Christ, that we should be so

  166. filled with the power of the spirit and living in the gospel that when people see us, they see the gospel.

  167. that there's living evidence of the fruit within us. So yes, we look different. Yes, we do things

  168. different. Yes, we talk different. Yes, we treat each other different. Not because we're better. Not

  169. because we've done anything, but because of the gospel. Because he's so much better. And so that's

  170. going to be the foundation of this. That's what Paul's trying to impress on the hearts of the Galatian

  171. people. And what Paul's impressing on the hearts of us today is that we enter into the kingdom through

  172. the gospel, but that we also live through the gospel. And so let's start reading Galatians chapter 1,

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  173. starting in verse 1. Paul writes,

  174. to the churches of Galatia, grace to you and peace from God, our Father and Lord Jesus Christ, who gave

  175. himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age according to the will of God and Father,

  176. to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Paul says, I'm astonished that you were so quickly

  177. deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel.

  178. Not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of

  179. Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we

  180. preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone is preaching

  181. to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. And so Paul begins, he opens it up,

  182. he addresses, he greets them, and then he gets to the heart of what is taking place. I want to say

  183. this church to all of us as individuals, to all of us who wrestle with our faith, to all of us who dive

  184. into scripture, for all of us who sit under teaching, or wherever we are, what we have to understand,

  185. what Paul does as he addresses this to the church, but as the individuals within the church, is this,

  186. what you believe matters. What we believe matters.

  187. When it comes to faith,

  188. can we say that it's not just enough to say,

  189. I believe in God?

  190. When we really get down to it,

  191. it's not just enough

  192. to say we believe in

  193. Jesus.

  194. Because it's in the details of who we believe him to be.

  195. It's in the details of what we trust him with our life,

  196. that when it gets down to understanding

  197. what the gospel is,

  198. and what the gospel does,

  199. what Jesus we believe in matters.

  200. And so what you believe,

  201. and what I believe matters.

  202. And Paul's passion,

  203. and his heart for addressing this church,

  204. is to make sure that there's this understanding

  205. that the Jesus they believe in,

  206. the Jesus they follow,

  207. the Jesus they trust,

  208. is an authentic Jesus.

  209. It's an authentic gospel,

  210. and that it's not counterfeit.

  211. And the problem is,

  212. is that there are those then,

  213. and there are those today,

  214. who are trying to sell a counterfeit Jesus.

  215. They're trying to sell a counterfeit gospel.

  216. And so Paul brings it back to the heart.

  217. He says, look,

  218. there are those who will trouble you

  219. by distorting the gospel.

  220. Now he doesn't say,

  221. there are those who will trouble you

  222. by completely destroying it,

  223. and throwing it to the side.

  224. He doesn't say,

  225. there are those who will try to trouble you

  226. by trying to lead you

  227. to something completely different.

  228. See, there's something sneakier

  229. that is happening and taking place here.

  230. He says,

  231. what they're doing

  232. is they're taking the gospel,

  233. and they're just turning it.

  234. They're just modifying it.

  235. They're making it a little bit easier to hear.

  236. They're making it a little bit more simple.

  237. They're making it a little bit

  238. where it's not as harsh.

  239. They're making it a little bit

  240. where it doesn't call,

  241. where it doesn't talk about grace

  242. or the cross.

  243. He says,

  244. they're distorting you.

  245. They're troubling you

  246. by distorting the gospel.

  247. And church,

  248. when the gospel is distorted,

  249. when the gospel is distorted,

  250. it's no longer the gospel.

  251. When the gospel is changed,

  252. when we take it and we make it ours,

  253. when we move it away

  254. from the gospel laid forth by God,

  255. in that moment,

  256. it ceases to be the gospel.

  257. You see,

  258. here's the trick of Satan.

  259. Satan cannot change the narrative.

  260. Satan cannot change the story.

  261. Satan cannot change what has happened.

  262. But where Satan attacks

  263. is he attacks the narrative

  264. that's being told about the truth.

  265. And so he takes

  266. and he adapts to make it his.

  267. He sets it onto the minds

  268. of those who are evil

  269. for those who are corrupt.

  270. And they modify it

  271. and they mold it

  272. to fit their agenda.

  273. And the false gospel

  274. doesn't save you.

  275. A distorted gospel

  276. doesn't save you.

  277. Instead,

  278. the harsh part,

  279. the reality that we're dealing with,

  280. if it doesn't save you,

  281. it condemns you.

  282. And it's why this is so important.

  283. And it's what we understand.

  284. And it's why it's so valuable,

  285. kids,

  286. that you are in here today.

  287. And it's why it's so important

  288. that at every age

  289. and every language

  290. and every people

  291. that we don't hear a gospel

  292. but that we hear the gospel

  293. and that we have the opportunity

  294. of salvation

  295. because the key is the true gospel.

  296. It saves us

  297. and it transforms us.

  298. And Paul gives the severity

  299. of what he's talking about.

  300. He gives here twice

  301. what's called the threat of the accursed,

  302. that if anyone comes

  303. and tells you anything different

  304. than what's been preached,

  305. if anything different

  306. than what God has said to them

  307. in that,

  308. let them be accursed.

  309. And Paul says,

  310. look, look, look,

  311. if it's any of them

  312. who do it,

  313. if it's any of us,

  314. he says,

  315. we, Paul,

  316. in the leadership,

  317. if we do it,

  318. or in the level of severity,

  319. Paul says,

  320. if angels come to you

  321. and they share with you

  322. a distorted point of the gospel,

  323. a distorted narrative of the gospel,

  324. Paul says,

  325. if any of us,

  326. if anyone,

  327. no one rises above this,

  328. let them be accursed.

  329. It's interesting,

  330. this word accursed,

  331. it's not a word

  332. that we use very often.

  333. But the concept

  334. of what Paul's communicating

  335. with accursed

  336. is what you can read about

  337. and what you can find

  338. in Leviticus chapter 27.

    Leviticus 27 chapter mention

  339. And it deals with the concept

  340. of removal of someone

  341. or excommunicating someone.

  342. So what Paul says to them is this,

  343. if there's any of us

  344. that try to bring

  345. this false gospel into you,

  346. then it's not just a warning,

  347. it's not just a hard conversation,

  348. lead them out.

  349. They are accursed.

  350. They are excommunicated.

  351. They are banished

  352. and they are banned.

  353. An interesting part of this

  354. is in order to get

  355. the penalty

  356. of being accursed,

  357. what the person

  358. must have been doing

  359. must have been dealing,

  360. or I'm sorry,

  361. they must have been devoted

  362. to death.

  363. So what Paul says is this,

  364. if there's someone

  365. bringing a false gospel,

  366. if there's someone

  367. bringing a false narrative,

  368. then what they are devoted to

  369. is death,

  370. not life,

  371. and remove them immediately.

  372. The seriousness of what's there,

  373. of what is ringing true.

  374. So what is the true gospel?

  375. What is this that I'm talking about?

  376. And we're going to understand it more

  377. over the coming weeks,

  378. but this morning

  379. I want to give us a snapshot.

  380. A brief snapshot

  381. before we partake

  382. in the Lord's Supper

  383. of what is

  384. the true gospel.

  385. The first thing is this,

  386. the true gospel

  387. tells us who we are.

  388. The true gospel

  389. tells us who we are.

  390. Verse four

  391. says that Jesus

  392. came to deliver us.

  393. He came to deliver us.

  394. Literally breaking

  395. that word down

  396. means that he came

  397. to rescue us.

  398. How many of you

  399. in your life

  400. have ever needed

  401. to be rescued from something?

  402. Raise your hand.

  403. Yeah, yeah.

  404. Me too.

  405. I remember

  406. one time I was in fifth grade

  407. and me and some friends,

  408. we were back in the woods

  409. and we had thousands of acres

  410. back behind our house

  411. and we got lost

  412. and we couldn't find our way out

  413. and they had to send people

  414. to come and rescue us.

  415. Now, over time,

  416. eventually,

  417. could we have stumbled out?

  418. Probably, absolutely.

  419. But right,

  420. we're 10 years old.

  421. We're petrified.

  422. We're crying

  423. and it's a great moment

  424. when your parents

  425. have to send law enforcement

  426. into the woods

  427. to come bring you out, right?

  428. Those long conversations

  429. that we had

  430. with my mom and dad.

  431. Hey, kids, don't do that.

  432. But y'all would just

  433. go on your phones

  434. and call your parents

  435. to come and get you, right?

  436. Drop a pin

  437. right where you're at.

  438. Come find me.

  439. But they had to come rescue us.

  440. Here's the thing.

  441. If you need to be rescued,

  442. do you know

  443. what you can't do

  444. for yourself?

  445. You can't save yourself.

  446. You can't rescue yourself.

  447. So what the Bible tells us

  448. in the heart of the gospel

  449. is that we needed

  450. to be rescued,

  451. which means this,

  452. that you and I,

  453. we couldn't save ourselves.

  454. That what God had to come

  455. and do for us

  456. was something

  457. that we were incapable

  458. of doing.

  459. we needed to be saved.

  460. The true gospel

  461. tells us who we are,

  462. but the true gospel

  463. also tells us

  464. what Jesus did.

  465. Paul says in verse 4

  466. that Jesus gave himself

  467. for our sins.

  468. That Jesus gave himself

  469. for our behalf.

  470. Now, it's very important

  471. that we understand this,

  472. that oftentimes

  473. that we talk about,

  474. and I've said it

  475. a million times,

  476. that Jesus came

  477. as a sacrifice.

  478. And let me tell you this,

  479. in repentance mode,

  480. fully now right before you,

  481. is that true?

  482. Yes, but there's more to it.

  483. There's a part

  484. that we're leaving out

  485. that Jesus came

  486. to do more

  487. than just to be

  488. a sacrifice.

  489. That Jesus came

  490. to be a substitutionary

  491. sacrifice.

  492. That he didn't just come

  493. to do something,

  494. but he came

  495. to do something

  496. on our behalf,

  497. which meant this,

  498. there was something

  499. that we needed to do,

  500. but we were incapable

  501. of doing it,

  502. so Jesus came

  503. and did it for us.

  504. And then that was the cross.

  505. And then that was

  506. the resurrection.

  507. And then that was

  508. the power.

  509. So you see what

  510. the gospel begins to do

  511. is the gospel addresses

  512. who we are,

  513. but the gospel also addresses

  514. what Jesus did.

  515. Also within here,

  516. the true gospel

  517. tells us what God did.

  518. What God did.

  519. Think about this.

  520. The beauty of this truth.

  521. In the substitutionary sacrifice,

  522. God accepted it.

  523. God accepted it.

  524. Verse three.

  525. Grace and peace

  526. to you from God.

  527. So now,

  528. as followers of Jesus Christ,

  529. now as those

  530. who needed to be rescued,

  531. now because Jesus came

  532. and did the rescuing,

  533. that we are no longer enemies

  534. because God accepted the work.

  535. And so now,

  536. what should have come toward us

  537. was his anger

  538. and his wrath,

  539. but now what comes to us?

  540. The grace

  541. and peace

  542. from God.

  543. The true gospel

  544. tells what God did.

  545. God accepted it,

  546. but also,

  547. the true gospel

  548. tells us

  549. why God did it.

  550. This is so important.

  551. I think this is the part

  552. of the gospel

  553. that we don't talk about enough.

  554. This is the part

  555. of the gospel

  556. that we don't think

  557. about enough.

  558. The true gospel

  559. tells us

  560. why God did it.

  561. That God willed it.

  562. That we didn't ask for it.

  563. That we didn't cause it.

  564. That we didn't plan it.

  565. And that we didn't deserve it.

  566. Jesus says as much.

  567. Jesus says,

  568. look,

  569. you don't take my life.

  570. I lay it down

  571. for the will

  572. of the Father.

  573. Reread verse four

  574. with me.

  575. Jesus who gave himself

  576. for our sins

  577. to deliver us

  578. from the present evil age.

  579. Look at this.

  580. According to the will

  581. of God,

  582. our Father.

  583. That God

  584. willed it.

  585. that God

  586. set the plan

  587. in motion.

  588. That what broke

  589. the heart of God

  590. was purposed

  591. by God

  592. to redeem

  593. his people.

  594. That God

  595. willed it.

  596. The true

  597. gospel

  598. tells us

  599. why

  600. he did it.

  601. But it also

  602. tells us

  603. what he gets

  604. from it.

  605. what God

  606. gets from it.

  607. In verse five

  608. tells us

  609. that God

  610. gets glory

  611. forever.

  612. Forever.

  613. You see

  614. the heart

  615. of salvation,

  616. the focus

  617. of eternity

  618. is the praise

  619. and the glory

  620. of God.

  621. That what just

  622. happened here

  623. a moment ago

  624. and I want to tell you

  625. getting all the feels

  626. this morning

  627. standing over here

  628. when the band

  629. kind of backed off

  630. and I heard

  631. everybody singing

  632. and the hairs

  633. on the back

  634. of my neck

  635. started standing up

  636. and for some reason

  637. water kind of

  638. started filling my eyes

  639. up a little bit.

  640. Maybe I got some

  641. sawdust in there

  642. or something.

  643. I don't know, right?

  644. But in that brief

  645. moment

  646. as the saints

  647. gave glory to God

  648. and then it hit me

  649. of an eternity

  650. with that.

  651. An eternity

  652. of all

  653. devotion

  654. devotion

  655. to Him.

  656. The gospel

  657. the true gospel

  658. that you and I

  659. we need to be rescued.

  660. In just a moment

  661. we're going to

  662. partake in the Lord's

  663. Supper together

  664. as a family.

  665. We're going to have

  666. the opportunity

  667. for you and I

  668. who are followers

  669. of Jesus

  670. to take a moment

  671. and pause

  672. in gratitude

  673. of what He's done

  674. and in a reflection

  675. in our response

  676. to it.

  677. Would you pray

  678. with me?

  679. God, I thank you

  680. so much

  681. for the work

  682. of Christ.

  683. Thank you so much

  684. Lord

  685. for this opportunity.

  686. God, of where

  687. we were

  688. and we were

  689. broken

  690. we were dead

  691. in the trespasses

  692. and sins

  693. there was

  694. nothing

  695. that we could

  696. do

  697. for ourselves

  698. and so

  699. you sent

  700. your Son.

  701. Lord

  702. and we thank you

  703. Father

  704. we thank you

  705. that as you

  706. sent Christ

  707. that He

  708. gave Himself

  709. for our behalf

  710. the sacrifice

  711. that we

  712. couldn't make

  713. He

  714. substituted

  715. and became

  716. the sacrifice

  717. so that we

  718. find life

  719. in Him

  720. and Him

  721. eternal.

  722. God, we thank you

  723. that you

  724. accepted it

  725. and as a result

  726. Lord

  727. that you

  728. extend grace

  729. and peace

  730. from you

  731. to us.

  732. Lord

  733. and it's

  734. the standing

  735. that we now

  736. have.

  737. Lord, we thank you

  738. that it was

  739. in your perfect

  740. plan

  741. it was in your

  742. perfect time

  743. in the evidence

  744. of the gospel

  745. it's enough

  746. for us to trust

  747. you with all

  748. that we have

  749. and all that we

  750. are.

  751. So Lord

  752. may we live

  753. lives

  754. not just

  755. in eternity

  756. but may we

  757. live here

  758. now

  759. for your

  760. kingdom

  761. and for your

  762. glory.

  763. And it's in

  764. Jesus' name

  765. we pray.

  766. Amen.

  767. As the elements

  768. are being passed

  769. out this morning

  770. I want to ask

  771. you this question.

  772. I want you

  773. to think about

  774. this.

  775. Have you been

  776. transformed

  777. by the gospel?

  778. Has it

  779. changed your

  780. today?

  781. Has it

  782. changed your

  783. tomorrow?

  784. Has it

  785. changed your

  786. there of what

  787. awaits you?

  788. And has it

  789. changed your

  790. here

  791. right

  792. now?

  793. has the gospel

  794. fully

  795. transformed

  796. you?

  797. The reality

  798. is that God

  799. loves you

  800. and I

  801. too much

  802. to save

  803. us

  804. and then

  805. leave us

  806. right where

  807. we were.

  808. That God's

  809. been in this

  810. 19 year

  811. journey

  812. with me

  813. since the

  814. moment of

  815. my salvation

  816. to mold

  817. me

  818. and to

  819. change

  820. me

  821. and to

  822. shape

  823. me

  824. into more

  825. of a

  826. heart

  827. like his

  828. and like

  829. him.

  830. And so

  831. as the

  832. elements

  833. are

  834. passed

  835. out

  836. let me

  837. ask you

  838. what does

  839. that

  840. transformation

  841. look like?
