  1. Hi, and welcome to the Willow Ridge Church weekly podcast.

  2. This is where you can find audio for our current and past sermons.

  3. We hope that you enjoy this week's installment, and be sure to check back next week to hear

  4. the latest message.

  5. Thanks for listening.

  6. Well, good morning.

  7. It is a great privilege to get to be with you guys today.

  8. I am excited.

  9. I am, first of all, thankful.

  10. I hope that you know how grateful myself and my wife and those who are part of this new

  11. church plant are for a church like Willow Ridge, who's willing to see the value and the needs

  12. for the work that we're trusting in God to do in Utah, and to come alongside us and partner.

  13. So thank you.

  14. Thank you for that.

  15. Thank you for the opportunity to share God's Word this morning, and to share a little bit

  16. of our story and of what God's doing in Utah.

  17. I'll start there.

  18. If you have a card there, you saw a picture.

  19. I've got another picture here of our family.

  20. So unfortunately, they were not able to travel out with me, but that is my wife is Sarah.

  21. Now they're all, she's not a lot taller than our oldest daughter now, but she's the one in the middle.

  22. And Sarah is an incredible blessing in my life and to our family and to our church.

  23. And she wanted me to make sure and share how much she wishes she could be here to meet you and how grateful she is for you.

  24. We also have two daughters.

  25. Ellie is on the right side, the one that is about to be taller than my wife.

  26. She is our 10-year-old, and she is our mature, knows almost everything, beautiful daughter.

  27. And we love her dearly.

  28. She is amazing.

  29. And then Sadie on the left side is our almost 8-year-old here in a couple weeks.

  30. And she is our rotten, silly, goofball daughter.

  31. And maybe you have both of those personalities in your house as well.

  32. But as a family, God has called us to uproot our lives and move to Utah.

  33. And I'll tell you more about that in a minute.

  34. But first, I want to just go ahead and set the scene.

  35. Bo described this.

  36. So I want to tell you a little bit more detail about the place we live and a little bit about what makes this place so unique.

  37. So there's another picture there.

  38. This aerial view, this is what we call the Salt Lake Valley.

  39. So on the right side there, you see some mountains.

  40. That's the Wasatch Mountains.

  41. They're beautiful mountains full of ski resorts and everything else.

  42. And on the left side, you see some other mountains, smaller mountains.

  43. On the top left side, you see some water there.

  44. That is the southern end of the Great Salt Lake.

  45. The Great Salt Lake is very large.

  46. And it looks beautiful from a distance.

  47. It looks beautiful at sunset.

  48. There's a lot of beauty in it until you get outside and smell it or see all the dead animals that drank its water and stuff like that.

  49. But it's worth seeing, okay?

  50. Just don't get in it.

  51. But that's our area.

  52. And in the middle there, in the valley, that is home to over a million people.

  53. Close to 1.2 million people live in the Salt Lake Valley.

  54. And specifically that shaded-in area, that red area there, is the west side of a city called West Jordan, Utah, which is a suburb there in the valley.

  55. And that's where we live.

  56. That's where our girls go to school.

  57. That's where Hope Valley Church will be meeting.

  58. And that is the community that we are focused on reaching out to with the gospel of Jesus.

  59. A few things about that community, though.

  60. There are nearly 60,000 people living in that shaded area.

  61. And it is quickly growing.

  62. There is still land that is available for development out there.

  63. But that is some of the only land left in the valley.

  64. So it's quickly growing.

  65. And among those 60,000 people, only about 2.5% of those people would profess to be saved by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

  66. That 2.5% of those people, and this would be true of the whole state of Utah, that 2.5% are evangelical Christians, believers of the true gospel of Jesus.

  67. And further, in that shaded area, in that area that is home to these 60,000 people, there are zero evangelical Christian churches.

  68. In fact, the only non-Latter-day Saint church of any kind in that area is a Spanish-speaking church.

  69. There's a tremendous need for gospel-preaching evangelical churches.

  70. And that's what God's called us to.

  71. And that's why we are planting this church in the heart of this community and focusing our efforts on this community.

  72. Some things you may or may not know about Utah.

  73. You might already know that Utah is the kind of home and world headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  74. And that is very true, and that shapes the culture of our area.

  75. It's also, though, home to a growing number of just non-religious people, whether they're agnostic or atheistic.

  76. Most of our growth is coming in from California, and it's a lot of just non-religious people.

  77. And so, while we, in some ways, see that the percentage of our population that is members of the LDS churches is decreasing,

  78. it does not mean that it's becoming more evangelical, more Christian.

  79. Because, in fact, it's actually just becoming a larger percentage of non-religious.

  80. But here's what we have found, and here's what we want you to hear clearly.

  81. These people, they're our neighbors, they're our friends, they're our community members that we love dearly.

  82. And they are not an enemy, they are not a project, but that they are people created in God's image

  83. who have been separated from God because of sin,

  84. and need to hear the truth of how they can be reconciled and brought back into relationship with God

  85. and find abundant life in Him.

  86. And these people, our greatest hope, our greatest desire for them,

  87. is that, as 1 Peter 1-3 says, that because of the great mercy of God the Father,

  88. that they will experience new birth into a living hope

  89. through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

  90. That's our prayer, that's our hope.

  91. Our hope is not to build a church full of a lot of people that makes us look good.

  92. Our hope is to see people by the saving power of Jesus brought back into relationship with Him.

  93. This morning, we're going to read from and be in Matthew chapter 16 here in just a couple minutes.

    Matthew 16 chapter mention

  94. So I invite you, you can go ahead and turn over there.

  95. And as you're doing that, I want to tell you a little bit more about my family's story

  96. and what's brought us to where we're at.

  97. And so you can know more about that and see how God is working in that.

  98. For me, I have, up until July of last year, I've lived my whole life in the state of Oklahoma.

  99. I, for about the last 15 years, have served a few different local churches across Oklahoma as a student pastor.

  100. And I have always been known that I was called to do that work, and I was very content in that call.

  101. I did not view it as something I was going to do for a little while and then church plan or pastor or something else.

  102. But I viewed it as where God had me unless He showed me that He was doing something else.

  103. And what happened in our lives is that about three years ago, in the summer of 2018, God showed us that He was doing something else.

  104. And in my wife's heart and in my heart, individually, God showed us in a short period of time,

  105. God stirred us that He was calling us to be a part of church planning.

  106. And He stirred us that that was in an area that was outside of kind of the Bible Belt area where we had known most of our life.

  107. And through a course of about six months, six to ten months, God began to really give us clarity and really continue to confirm that.

  108. And through that course, He began to really show us that Utah was the place, that the Salt Lake City area was the place where He was calling us to.

  109. Now, it was a place I didn't know much about.

  110. But as He put it on our minds, and as we began to learn more about it and talk to people who were there doing ministry,

  111. and see the incredible need, and become burdened for the incredible people that are there who have such limited access to the truth of the gospel, of the true gospel.

  112. And as we took all that in, it became something we just could not shake.

  113. And so, in the middle of everything that was 2020, a pandemic and everything else,

  114. it seemed like the perfect time to go ahead and just add a little bit of change to our lives, right?

  115. So, in July of last year, we picked up and left western Oklahoma to move to the Salt Lake City area of Utah.

  116. And as we've settled in there and began to meet our neighbors and doing the work to prepare for what this summer,

  117. we'll begin the first public worship gatherings of Hope Valley Church.

  118. As we've worked towards all of that, trusting in God to work,

  119. and we've found such peace in being where God has called us.

  120. It's been hard, and it's overwhelming at times, and there's a lot of uncertainties about it.

  121. But of knowing that it is what God has called us to has been a great joy for our family.

  122. And so, today, as I just mentioned, like when we think about a task like I'm thinking about in our lives,

  123. a task of starting a church in an area where there are none,

  124. or you think about tasks that you have coming up in your life,

  125. you think about things that God is calling you to,

  126. and if you're like me, you can get overwhelmed with those things.

  127. And I can think about in my life how in those busy seasons or in those seasons where there's a lot of uncertainty,

  128. how I'm often prone to stress and just discouragement and wondering how is all this going to happen.

  129. But today, I want to share a great encouragement with you.

  130. And here's the encouragement is that the fact that God is the one who will do the work.

  131. He is the one who will build His church.

  132. He is the one who will save people, restore them into relationship with Himself.

  133. And it's not just an encouragement for a church planner or a pastor or a church staff member or a missionary.

  134. This is an encouragement that is for anyone who professes to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

  135. It's an encouragement that you are not the one in control.

  136. You are not the one responsible for the results, but our Lord Jesus is.

  137. So let's read from Matthew chapter 16, starting in verse 13.

    Matthew 16 chapter mention

  138. It says,

  139. And when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples,

  140. Who do people say that the Son of Man is?

  141. And they said,

  142. Some say John the Baptist.

  143. Others say Elijah.

  144. And others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

  145. He said to them,

  146. But who do you say that I am?

  147. Simon Peter replied,

  148. You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

  149. And Jesus answered him,

  150. Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you,

  151. but my Father who is in heaven.

  152. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church,

  153. and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

  154. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

  155. And whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.

  156. And whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

  157. Then He strictly charged His disciples to tell no one that He was the Christ.

  158. Now there's a lot in this passage that we're not going to be able to speak in detail to this morning.

  159. In fact, we're really just going to focus on verse 18 here.

  160. But before we get to that, we do want to see what is happening here.

  161. As Jesus is with His disciples, He says,

  162. Who do people say that the Son of Man is?

  163. And they say, well, some say Elijah or John the Baptist or Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

  164. And these are all accurate answers of what the people would be saying

  165. as they think about the Jewish context.

  166. But then He changes this, and He says,

  167. But who do you say that I am?

  168. And here we see Peter replies.

  169. He says, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

  170. This is this first New Testament confession of Jesus as Messiah, as the Christ.

  171. And it's such an important understanding for us to see here.

  172. And as we get, like I said, we'll focus on verse 18 and spend our time there this morning.

  173. Let's pray first, though.

  174. Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your Word, and I pray that today You reveal Your truth to us.

  175. You encourage us with it to continue in the work of the Great Commission,

  176. to continue in the work of making Your Gospel known and walking faithfully,

  177. being obedient to You.

  178. Lord, I pray that You'll speak Your truth by Your power through Your Spirit today.

  179. Amen.

  180. So, first thing we want to see in verse 18 here is that Jesus will build His church.

  181. It says that very clearly.

  182. Jesus, in verse 18, says,

  183. I will build my church.

  184. Now, I want us to understand, though, that the pronouns are not unimportant here.

  185. We see the word I and the word my, which tells us both who will do the work and who owns the product,

  186. who owns what's being made.

  187. Jesus will build His church.

  188. The church does not belong to us.

  189. We do not build it.

  190. You are not the owners of Willow Ridge Church.

  191. I am not the owner of Hope Valley Church.

  192. It is not ours.

  193. It is Jesus' church.

  194. And when we understand that it is His,

  195. we also understand and trust that He cares for it.

  196. And that He is the one who has built it,

  197. and He is the one who will sustain it,

  198. and He is the one who will come alongside His people.

  199. He is the one who's chosen to use us.

  200. We'll talk more about that in a moment.

  201. But that it's His church.

  202. That God has not called us to do what only He can do.

  203. He has called us to faithfulness.

  204. As I was even just flying in yesterday,

  205. I was reading a book,

  206. and I came across this quote from a pastor named Paul Tripp.

  207. He writes that,

  208. In a sermon from David Platt,

  209. he said it this way,

  210. he said that a high view of God's sovereignty

  211. fuels death-defying devotion to global missions.

  212. So the higher that our view of God is,

  213. the greater our faith will become

  214. to risk everything for His glory.

  215. And there's risk in it, right?

  216. There's risk in what we're doing.

  217. There's risk that we will do everything

  218. we feel like we know we're called to do,

  219. to plant this church,

  220. and that nothing will happen.

  221. That people won't get saved.

  222. That people won't attend.

  223. There's risk that it just feels like it failed.

  224. There's risk.

  225. There's risk in sharing Christ with your neighbor.

  226. There's risk.

  227. But the risk is worth it

  228. when we understand that God is in control,

  229. that He is sovereign,

  230. that He is the one who goes before us,

  231. that He is the one who wants the work to be done

  232. infinitely more than we can even grasp.

  233. Our desires, our kingdom,

  234. gospel-focused desires,

  235. those desires are given to us by God,

  236. but they're so much smaller

  237. than the vastness of those in the heart of God, okay?

  238. He wants the work done.

  239. And so in this, we understand,

  240. and it keeps us going when we feel overwhelmed,

  241. when we think about the things we can't do.

  242. Some of those things I think about

  243. is I can't create the resources

  244. and the finances needed

  245. for the work we're trying to do.

  246. I can't on my own make other disciples of Jesus

  247. decide to join us in this work.

  248. I can't grant ourselves favor among our neighbors.

  249. I can't cause people who are lost,

  250. who are dead in their sin,

  251. to know that the only way out

  252. is through trusting in the grace of Jesus.

  253. I can't do these things.

  254. But what we know

  255. and what Scripture tells us so clearly

  256. and what the faithfulness of God shows

  257. is that, but God can

  258. and that He will.

  259. And this truth is not exclusive

  260. to pastors or church staff people

  261. or missionaries.

  262. It is a truth that is for every believer

  263. in Lord Jesus.

  264. It is a truth that is for all disciples.

  265. It's that you can't do the work,

  266. but that God wants to use you.

  267. He wants to use you to do His work

  268. as we'll see now.

  269. Still in verse 18,

  270. but we'll kind of go back

  271. and look at the first part that we skipped.

  272. And we'll see this,

  273. that we'll see that He will build it

  274. upon His disciples.

  275. Talking about the church,

  276. that Jesus will build the church

  277. upon His disciples.

  278. It says in verse 18,

  279. He says,

  280. You are Peter,

  281. and upon this rock

  282. I will build my church.

  283. Now,

  284. this verse

  285. is a source of great,

  286. has been over the centuries

  287. in the church history

  288. of great controversy.

  289. Okay?

  290. For the Roman Catholic Church,

  291. this is a,

  292. from this verse,

  293. they look and they say

  294. that Peter was the first pope.

  295. And they take that from this.

  296. Often as a reaction

  297. to that teaching,

  298. which we know is not true,

  299. we often see this passage interpreted

  300. as saying that this phrase,

  301. upon this rock,

  302. is in fact only referring

  303. to Peter's confession

  304. a few verses ahead

  305. where he says,

  306. You are the Christ,

  307. the Son of the living God.

  308. They say,

  309. Well,

  310. upon this rock means that.

  311. Well,

  312. in fact,

  313. we see that

  314. he is referring to Peter here.

  315. And when he says rock,

  316. that is the meaning

  317. of the name Peter

  318. that he's been given.

  319. But that doesn't mean

  320. we have to go to this view

  321. that we talked about

  322. from the Catholic Church.

  323. We can understand it

  324. a little bit better

  325. as we look at other places

  326. in Scripture.

  327. One of those

  328. is in Ephesians chapter 2.

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  329. I'm going to read

  330. verses 19 through 21.

  331. Here it says,

  332. So then you are no longer

  333. strangers and aliens,

  334. but you are fellow citizens

  335. with the saints

  336. and members

  337. of the household of God,

  338. built on the foundation

  339. of the apostles

  340. and prophets,

  341. Christ Jesus himself

  342. being the cornerstone,

  343. in whom the whole structure

  344. being joined together

  345. grows into a holy temple

  346. in the Lord.

  347. Christ has built the church

  348. upon the apostles,

  349. the disciples,

  350. faithful believers.

  351. Okay?

  352. And so Peter,

  353. as he is the first here

  354. who has made this

  355. public confession

  356. that Jesus is the Christ,

  357. that he's saying,

  358. upon you,

  359. upon those who have believed in me,

  360. I'll build my church.

  361. And we understand

  362. that this is by his sovereign power,

  363. that he'll save people,

  364. he'll build his church,

  365. but the obedient work

  366. of his disciples

  367. is his chosen,

  368. tool,

  369. it's his instrument.

  370. God has called us

  371. to be a tool

  372. for my family

  373. in planning

  374. what we call

  375. Hope Valley Church

  376. in West Shore in Utah.

  377. God has also called

  378. Christians from across

  379. the globe

  380. to be his chosen instruments

  381. to take the gospel forward.

  382. One special way

  383. that you,

  384. as Willow Ridge Church,

  385. are doing that

  386. is through partnering

  387. with us.

  388. that even in a way

  389. that you have not been,

  390. I take it most of you

  391. have probably not ever been

  392. to Salt Lake City even,

  393. but that you're able

  394. to partner

  395. in the gospel ministry

  396. there through this partnership,

  397. through finances,

  398. through prayer,

  399. which we do not just mention

  400. as something that it seems

  401. like we're supposed to say

  402. because we're good Christians,

  403. but I mentioned it as saying

  404. that I know

  405. we desperately need

  406. your prayer.

  407. Okay?

  408. Through sending teams,

  409. as Bo mentioned,

  410. there will be students

  411. out this summer,

  412. through those things

  413. you get to partner in that.

  414. But we also,

  415. for us,

  416. I know firsthand

  417. that the one way

  418. Jesus builds his church

  419. is by calling out people

  420. to uproot their lives,

  421. to be God's chosen instrument

  422. in a place

  423. that needs his gospel.

  424. And so,

  425. it might be that

  426. while there is always

  427. great commission work

  428. to be done

  429. wherever we are,

  430. but it might be that

  431. God chooses

  432. and calls you out

  433. to use you

  434. in a place

  435. that is not

  436. your home,

  437. a place that is not

  438. where you've lived before.

  439. And as we think

  440. about all these things,

  441. we also have to understand

  442. and see

  443. a really important part

  444. of it.

  445. Okay?

  446. That this verse,

  447. and it continues,

  448. but that verse 18

  449. doesn't end right there.

  450. As the end of verse 18

  451. says that,

  452. and the gates of hell

  453. shall not prevail against it.

  454. That Jesus' church

  455. will prevail

  456. over darkness.

  457. Because as you have encountered

  458. in this life,

  459. there is darkness.

  460. As we encounter

  461. what becomes really heavy

  462. for us

  463. is when we drive around

  464. in our community

  465. and we just look

  466. at rooftops.

  467. Or when I go

  468. to my daughter's bedrooms,

  469. which are on the top floor

  470. of our house,

  471. and overlook

  472. the whole valley,

  473. and I just look

  474. at all the rooftops.

  475. And when I think

  476. about the fact

  477. that over 97%

  478. of those rooftops

  479. are represented

  480. by families

  481. that do not know

  482. the hope

  483. that we have in Jesus,

  484. it gets real.

  485. And we understand

  486. the darkness

  487. of the place.

  488. But darkness

  489. is everywhere.

  490. Hell is real.

  491. We know

  492. very clearly

  493. from Scripture

  494. that anyone

  495. who has not

  496. trusted in Jesus

  497. for their salvation,

  498. for the forgiveness

  499. of their sins,

  500. is bound for hell.

  501. We also know

  502. that Satan

  503. and his demonic forces

  504. are likewise

  505. very real,

  506. and that they are

  507. in great opposition

  508. to the work

  509. of the one true gospel.

  510. But Jesus promises here

  511. that hell

  512. will not win.

  513. We know

  514. that victory

  515. was secured

  516. when Jesus

  517. took on

  518. the penalty of sin,

  519. all of our sins,

  520. upon the cross.

  521. That he triumphed

  522. over death

  523. by rising on the third day.

  524. And in fact,

  525. we're one week

  526. from Easter.

  527. We remember

  528. we just celebrated

  529. Easter

  530. that Jesus

  531. rose again.

  532. And there is

  533. no greater testimony

  534. of God's sovereignty,

  535. of his power

  536. to save people,

  537. than the resurrection.

  538. There's nothing greater.

  539. And as we think

  540. about this,

  541. we think about these

  542. and trust

  543. in these truths

  544. that Jesus

  545. saves sinners.

  546. That Jesus

  547. saves sinners.

  548. We don't.

  549. We're powerless

  550. to do that.

  551. We're a faithful witness

  552. is what we are.

  553. That Jesus

  554. builds his church.

  555. His church.

  556. He builds it.

  557. That he uses

  558. the faithful obedience

  559. of his disciples

  560. to accomplish

  561. his glory.

  562. And that hell

  563. opposes it.

  564. But God

  565. has already won

  566. the victory.

  567. And that is,

  568. that's enough.

  569. Whatever it is

  570. that God's calling you to,

  571. whatever it is

  572. that God is

  573. speaking to you

  574. in your life,

  575. whatever the things are

  576. that you know

  577. you need to be

  578. obedient to,

  579. those facts

  580. are enough

  581. to allow us

  582. to walk faithfully.

  583. To say,

  584. God,

  585. I am yours.

  586. Use me.

  587. I know I can't do it.

  588. The greatest,

  589. the greatest

  590. source of

  591. help for me

  592. to trust in God

  593. right now

  594. is knowing

  595. that there is

  596. no way

  597. that I can figure out

  598. how to do

  599. what I'm supposed

  600. to do right now.

  601. That I can figure out

  602. how to plant

  603. this church

  604. apart from

  605. the power

  606. of God.

  607. And so

  608. when we reach

  609. that point,

  610. it's a good place

  611. to be

  612. because we can

  613. choose

  614. and embrace

  615. and know

  616. that it is

  617. all because

  618. of His power,

  619. that He

  620. is enough.

  621. He will do it.

  622. He has

  623. called us

  624. His faithful.

  625. But I do

  626. want to,

  627. I hope

  628. you're encouraged

  629. in that.

  630. I do also

  631. want to share

  632. just some

  633. specific ways

  634. in our lives

  635. right now

  636. and in the life

  637. of Hope Valley Church

  638. right now

  639. in its very infancy

  640. that you can be

  641. joining us

  642. in prayer

  643. and praying

  644. for God

  645. to do this work

  646. and praying

  647. for God

  648. to bring

  649. the people

  650. and the things

  651. and everything

  652. together for it.

  653. The first

  654. of those ways

  655. is that

  656. join us

  657. in praying

  658. for people.

  659. Be praying

  660. for other

  661. Christians.

  662. We have

  663. some people

  664. but we

  665. desire

  666. and hope

  667. and are praying

  668. for God

  669. to bring other

  670. Christians

  671. to join us

  672. in the work

  673. at Hope Valley Church.

  674. Whether those

  675. are Christians

  676. in another

  677. church already

  678. in the valley

  679. who get

  680. the vision

  681. to help start

  682. another church.

  683. Or whether

  684. those are Christians

  685. who are living

  686. in another state

  687. right now

  688. as we have

  689. people we've talked

  690. to who have

  691. come out and visited

  692. and are praying

  693. about that

  694. and we are also

  695. praying for others

  696. we don't even

  697. know of yet

  698. that might follow

  699. God's call on that.

  700. But also for

  701. people who do

  702. not yet know

  703. Jesus.

  704. People who do

  705. not yet know

  706. the gospel

  707. of Jesus.

  708. The true

  709. gospel

  710. that God

  711. saves

  712. by grace

  713. alone.

  714. Okay?

  715. That is

  716. hard in our

  717. area

  718. as for our

  719. LDS

  720. neighbors

  721. and friends

  722. they understand

  723. the gospel

  724. very differently.

  725. Praying

  726. that as we

  727. proclaim

  728. the truths

  729. of the gospel

  730. as we

  731. talk about

  732. the truths

  733. of Jesus'

  734. work

  735. in salvation

  736. that they

  737. will hear

  738. that.

  739. We were

  740. convinced

  741. that we

  742. our task

  743. is not

  744. to like

  745. argue

  746. people

  747. out of

  748. their

  749. beliefs.

  750. Our task

  751. is not

  752. whether

  753. they're

  754. an

  755. LDS

  756. friend

  757. or an

  758. agnostic

  759. or atheist

  760. friend.

  761. Our task

  762. is not

  763. to convince

  764. them

  765. they're

  766. wrong,

  767. but our

  768. task

  769. is to

  770. show

  771. them

  772. the truth.

  773. It's

  774. to show

  775. them

  776. what truth

  777. is.

  778. To show

  779. them

  780. who

  781. Jesus

  782. is

  783. and

  784. what

  785. the

  786. gospel

  787. truly

  788. is

  789. and

  790. to

  791. show

  792. them

  793. that

  794. there

  795. is

  796. hope.

  797. That

  798. they

  799. can

  800. trust

  801. in

  802. that.

  803. Because

  804. we

  805. believe

  806. that

  807. the

  808. truth

  809. speaks.

  810. Doesn't

  811. mean

  812. we

  813. won't

  814. deal

  815. and

  816. talk

  817. about

  818. hard

  819. things,

  820. but

  821. we

  822. want

  823. the

  824. gospel

  825. to be

  826. what

  827. we

  828. are

  829. known

  830. for.

  831. We

  832. want

  833. the

  834. truth

  835. of

  836. it

  837. to

  838. be

  839. what

  840. we

  841. are

  842. known

  843. for.

  844. We

  845. want

  846. any

  847. offense

  848. to

  849. be

  850. in

  851. Jesus.

  852. And

  853. will

  854. you

  855. pray

  856. for

  857. those

  858. people?

  859. Will

  860. you

  861. pray

  862. for

  863. the

  864. resources

  865. as

  866. we

  867. get

  868. equipment

  869. and

  870. things

  871. like

  872. that.

  873. We'll

  874. be

  875. meeting

  876. in

  877. a

  878. dance

  879. studio

  880. and

  881. as

  882. we

  883. get

  884. trailer

  885. and

  886. equipment

  887. and

  888. all

  889. of

  890. those

  891. things.

  892. Will

  893. you

  894. pray

  895. for

  896. the

  897. resources

  898. to

  899. sustain

  900. the

  901. ministry

  902. of

  903. the

  904. church?

  905. Will

  906. you

  907. pray

  908. for

  909. our

  910. outreach

  911. efforts?

  912. This

  913. summer

  914. we

  915. will

  916. be

  917. one

  918. of

  919. those

  920. to

  921. make

  922. sure

  923. by

  924. the

  925. end

  926. of

  927. the

  928. summer

  929. that

  930. every

  931. home

  932. in

  933. that

  934. area

  935. that

  936. is

  937. home

  938. to

  939. 60,000

  940. people

  941. that

  942. every

  943. home

  944. will

  945. receive

  946. a

  947. door

  948. hanger

  949. that

  950. allows

  951. them

  952. to

  953. know

  954. that

  955. we

  956. are

  957. here

  958. and

  959. shows

  960. them

  961. a

  962. way

  963. that

  964. they

  965. can

  966. connect

  967. with

  968. us

  969. at

  970. a

  971. kids

  972. camp

  973. and

  974. a

  975. block

  976. party

  977. in

  978. their

  979. neighborhood

  980. park

  981. and

  982. our

  983. goal

  984. is

  985. that

  986. through

  987. all

  988. of

  989. that

  990. at

  991. the

  992. end

  993. of

  994. the

  995. summer

  996. our

  997. whole

  998. community

  999. knows

  1000. that

  1001. we

  1002. are

  1003. there

  1004. and

  1005. that

  1006. through

  1007. those

  1008. things

  1009. pray

  1010. that

  1011. we

  1012. have

  1013. conversations

  1014. and

  1015. build

  1016. relationships

  1017. can share

  1018. the

  1019. gospel

  1020. that

  1021. people

  1022. will

  1023. come

  1024. to

  1025. Christ

  1026. and

  1027. that

  1028. God

  1029. will

  1030. build

  1031. his

  1032. church

  1033. thank

  1034. you

  1035. Willow

  1036. Ridge

  1037. is

  1038. a

  1039. pleasure

  1040. to

  1041. be

  1042. with

  1043. you

  1044. today

  1045. let's

  1046. pray

  1047. together

  1048. Lord

  1049. you

  1050. are

  1051. faithful

  1052. and

  1053. you

  1054. are

  1055. good

  1056. we

  1057. trust

  1058. in

  1059. you

  1060. and

  1061. we

  1062. thank

  1063. you

  1064. for

  1065. your

  1066. incredible

  1067. work

  1068. Lord

  1069. that

  1070. there

  1071. is

  1072. nothing

  1073. we

  1074. could

  1075. do

  1076. but

  1077. it

  1078. is

  1079. all

  1080. because

  1081. of

  1082. Jesus

  1083. it

  1084. is

  1085. all

  1086. because

  1087. of

  1088. you

  1089. that

  1090. we

  1091. have

  1092. life

  1093. and

  1094. Lord

  1095. I

  1096. pray

  1097. that

  1098. today

  1099. you

  1100. will

  1101. encourage

  1102. us

  1103. by

  1104. your

  1105. truth

  1106. by

  1107. your

  1108. word

  1109. that

  1110. we

  1111. will

  1112. know

  1113. that

  1114. we

  1115. just

  1116. walk

  1117. in

  1118. obedience

  1119. and

  1120. that

  1121. you

  1122. are

  1123. sovereign

  1124. to

  1125. do

  1126. the

  1127. work

  1128. Lord

  1129. that

  1130. you

  1131. will

  1132. draw

  1133. sinners

  1134. to

  1135. yourself

  1136. Lord

  1137. help

  1138. us

  1139. to

  1140. have

  1141. opportunities

  1142. to

  1143. show

  1144. your

  1145. gospel

  1146. to

  1147. walk

  1148. in

  1149. boldness

  1150. and

  1151. obedience

  1152. and to

  1153. take

  1154. risks

  1155. for

  1156. your

  1157. gospel

  1158. because

  1159. you

  1160. have

  1161. called

  1162. us

  1163. out

  1164. you

  1165. have

  1166. saved

  1167. us

  1168. and

  1169. you

  1170. are

  1171. faithful

  1172. we

  1173. love

  1174. you

  1175. Lord

  1176. Jesus
