How many have you turned with me to the Book of Lamentations? Did anybody
-
turn with me to the Book of Lamentations? There's no need to stand to
-
night so teaching. But let's look down there at the twenty second and the
-
twenty third verse of the third chapter. The Bible says, it is of
-
the Lord's mercy that we are not consumed because his compassions fell not they are
-
new every morning coldon great is thy faithfulness. Now, when I read that
-
scripture, immediately people that were burdened, whose hearts were heavy, people that
-
came into this building to night sorrowful. Suddenly your spirit was uplifted. I
-
heard, dear sister ham and say, well, praise God, that is
-
so good. That's so good that that verse brought comport and elation into your
-
life. All the benefits of the written word of God when we take the
-
time to read it, all the benefits of it. It's so beneficial to
-
us. I want to teach a lesson to us tonight, something that I
-
do not normally do. I want to take the time to teach it.
-
Let it be a counsels session. If you what there's some of you that
-
have never been privileged or blessed to sit in my office and to hear Pastor
-
speak to you as he has seated in his chair and speak to you from
-
behind the desk. I want to talk to you tonight from behind the pastor's
-
desk on Christ versus conscience, Christ versus conscience. Now, our text has
-
found in an Old Testament book of the Wholy Bible, and this book of
-
the Bible isn't read as much as some of the other books of the Divine
-
Library the Wholy Bible. In fact, I challenge you right now want to
-
cite one verse that you have memorized in this book of the Bible. I
-
also challenge you to cite the title of one message that you have heard preach
-
from this book of the Bible. For those of you that have set up
-
under my ministry, at some time you heard me preach a message. And
-
I don't know how long ago that was, but the title was, oh
-
how. And here you find in this book of Lamentations you find five poems.
-
Five poems. Have you noticed how short this book of the Bible is?
-
Yet not everybody reads their Bible, so some are probably assuming that it's
-
a very lengthy book. In the Bible, it is not. The Book
-
of Psalm is quite lengthy. You find many chapters in the Book of Psalm.
-
And in that Book of Psalm you find some chapters that are poems or
-
songs about praising the Lord. In the Book of Psalms you find some palms.
-
There's poems that are about somebody being very sorrowful. Brother Jesse, there's
-
some songs or psalms or poems, and talk to us the reader, about
-
the life of the victim, about the life of the victor. Brother Tyler.
-
I noticed that this book of the Bible, though it turns us away,
-
the title itself is very repulsive. It's not something that we want to
-
read. It goes against the grain of who we are. I mean,
-
immediately, if you're in the camp meeting preaching and you say, turned with
-
me to the Book of Lamentations, what's everybody gonna think. We're not shouting
-
tonight, because this book is a book that tells us about the funeral of
-
a city, a funeral of a big city, a capital city where God's
-
people reside. Inside of that city are the anointed people of the Lord,
-
people that were the garments that have been assigned to them. By the Lord.
-
There's priest, parishioners, and people in this capital city that say we
-
are God's children. While they're in that city they say we're shut in by
-
God's grace. Were chosen where the elect of God were the favorites of God,
-
and there's no way nothing can harm us, brother Nathaniel. They accuse
-
those that are outside of the city limits, if you would, as being
-
outsiders, rejects. While they declare their acceptance of God, they declare the
-
rejection of others by God. So when you read this book of the Bible,
-
you say, wait a minute, why would I want to read something
-
that's five poems of sorrowful things, five poems that talk about the death of
-
a beautiful city and the beautiful people of God. You see, the Bible
-
teaches us that when we sin, we must be chastised. We must be
-
chastised when we sin. You, parents, you could try your best to
-
convince your children to change their ways, and without the rod of correction,
-
if you feed them sugar cookies, you could try day in and day out
-
to try to turn that child. And you know what, You'll come to
-
me and you'll say, sugar cookies just ain't doing it. But discipline has
-
And I'm not telling anybody that they ought to beat their child mercilessly. But
-
you have to train up them children in the way they should go, so
-
that when they grow old, they will not depart from the faith. You
-
see this right here. The commandments of God have been given to these people.
-
But now, brother rodcap here's a man whom some believe to be Jeremiah,
-
although not everyone agrees that the authorship should be assigned to Jeremiah. But
-
most people believe that the prophet Jerealm is the one that wrote this through tears
-
stained eyes. But also he's looking at if you would see the windows over
-
here on the sides of the church, what do they call that stained glass?
-
He's looking through broken stained glass of what used to be of the House
-
of God, what used to be of the people of God, a temple
-
that used to stand so strong, where people came in dawn on rogue with
-
Psalm book in hand, and they saying, and the power of God came
-
by the shkin of Glory was powerful. And he realizes, now I'm recording
-
the results of God. As a disciplinarian, I look back and say,
-
what's happened? Why the rebel? Why is this that was so wonderful a
-
worship lead? Why has it become a waste lead? What has happened?
-
We were a revival church, reformers were here, the spirit of God moved.
-
What happened? What happened? What calls this? And so, Brother
-
Nathaniel, as we read this, we can't just find a spot like we
-
can't in the book of Psalm and sigh and take a deep breath and say,
-
I feel better. Now here's five more Psalms and says, praise you
-
the Lord. But there was a little verse in here that I read that
-
we're used in as our text tonight that offers a little bit of hope and
-
help. We find that Jeremiah, he turns tragedy into triumph of faith because
-
Jerema knows. Jeremiah knows from personal experience that God has never failed him in
-
the past and God will never fail him in the future. Jeremiah knows from
-
personal experience that God has never felt Israel in the past and that God will
-
not fail them in the future. And so Jeremiah, even despite what's going
-
on, he finds hope and comfort. Now that's easier said than done.
-
Sister Hammond said tonight. She said that God has prepared her for things,
-
including the death of a spouse. That's easy for a child to sit in
-
here tonight, picked their nose and wipe it under the church view and act
-
like sis to him and didn't say that, but to somebody that's facing the
-
same thing in the very near future, the Holy Goose will quicken them and
-
speak to them and say, wait a minute. This sister just said that
-
the goodness of God prepared her for a tragedy. I know that these people
-
had been prepared for this tragedy. You know, everybody that batchlides, they've
-
been prepared. They've been warned prior to the chasing hand of God coming,
-
prior to that chastisement, Brother Jesse, prior to Jerusalem being slapped to their
-
knees. Who slapped them to their knees? God did? How did God
-
do it? Who's the instrument nebucannesser? Who did he employ? Who did
-
God pay very well to come in and discipline his people? Not the priest,
-
not the prophet. The priests and the prophet were nothing more than mail
-
men, and they preach the preacher or the teacher or the church at large
-
is never intending to hurt you, to never harm you, or never intends
-
to destroy you. I was thinking a Sister Wooten was testifying to night.
-
She said, these compromisers, and that's her words, she said, these
-
compromisers. One of the first things they want to do when you challenge their
-
compromise is saying, I've been hurt. And Sister Wood said, who that
-
has ever attended God's house has not been hurt. I would say that she
-
was right when she said that Jesus has definitely been more hurt than anybody.
-
Any of his followers could never say that they were hurt like he was hurt.
-
In fact, that's one of the things that encourages us is we realize,
-
Brother Jeremiah, he's familiar with the way we heard. You know why
-
he's familiar with the way we heard, because he has compassion on us,
-
and he's been where we're at. He knows our frame, he knows that
-
we're dust, he knows what's in man, and he knows how weak we
-
are, he knows how frail we are, and so he has compassion on
-
us. But at such at that, Jesus, I'll tell you who has
-
been hurt more than anybody. It's the minister who was employed by God against
-
his will, going about his own business, trying to be successful in this
-
life and provide for his family, earning an honest living, and to be
-
approached by an angel of heaven, a messenger from Heaven that was sent bout
-
him Almighty God, to say you have received an assignment. Whether you choose
-
to obey or not is up to you. But if you choose to disobey,
-
it will be damnation and eternal lake of fire. If you choose to
-
choose to accept, you will be eternally rewarded in heaven. And so minister
-
immediately recognizes this call to help others. We encourage preachers a lot of times
-
preachers at the calling of Jeremiah. We love to talk about how Jeremiah was
-
called and how he was successful as a preacher. What beautiful, beautiful words
-
Jeremiah the prophet spoken to those people. But now you put yourself in Jeremiah's
-
position, and all you see is destruction. It's no longer chaos. The
-
tornado of chaos has ceased, and now it's the aftermath of chaos. You're
-
not in the middle of the storm. It's after the storm. The hordes
-
of Babylon Neverchadnezzar and his mighty generals and their military has come into the land
-
of Israel and destroyed them and carried many away captive. Jeremiah, he preached.
-
Jeremiah had a burden, he said. He wept as he preached,
-
he cried. He had the message, he brought it to him. What
-
was he saying, you must repent. That's the saint take John the Baptist
-
was saying, prior to the rival of Jesus, you must repent. And
-
so sister Wooton. It had to have crushed and hurt Jeremiah to have people
-
saying, I'm hurt. I'm a hurt. Look what the Babylonians have done
-
to our beautiful temple. Look what the Babylonians have done to our beautiful land.
-
Look what the Babylonians have done to my family. It is separated father
-
from son and mother from daughter. Look at what the Babylonians have done it.
-
Jeremiah said, no, you've done it under yourself. I told you
-
that God was going to use them as the chase sinning broad trying to get
-
you to turn back from your folly, get trying to get you to turn
-
back from your sin. If you'll look right here in the Bible, you'll
-
notice around the first chapter it's said in verse number eight, Jerusalem hath grievously
-
sin. Therefore she is removed. And now all that honored her despise her,
-
because now they have seen her nakedness. Yeay, she sithe and turneth
-
backwards because she is a shame. It doesn't say here that she's sorry for
-
her sin. She's a shame that she got caught in her sin. She's
-
a shame that she can no longer play church and be religious and do wrong
-
and get by. But you cannot do wrong and get by, no matter
-
how hard you try, and all how hard some of us sometimes try to
-
do wrong and get by. But this preacher had been hurt, your pastor,
-
I guarantee a sister ruting if you were to say, well, without
-
a doubt, brothers, sister, howel has been hurt by all of you
-
more than you've been hurt by them, no doubt. The prophet Jerebiah had
-
been hurt by these people. You will remember when he tried to warn them
-
of sin. They put him in the pit. I wonder why people are
-
nowhere near as tolerant with the preacher as he is with them as parishioners.
-
Why is it that the preacher can misspeak one time or sometime, let it
-
the Holy go shoot an arrow their way and it hit the bull's eye.
-
Why is it that people can pull it out of the bull's eye and hurl
-
about thirteen towns and back at the preaching. Why is that so the preacher
-
is usually the target of the arrows of rebellious people that reject the word of
-
God. And that's of our reluctancies to preach, is we know that when
-
the Holy Ghost throws an arrow out into a multitude of people, or any
-
group of people, we know that potentially that arrow was going to ricochet and
-
come back at that preacher. And so this is why we have a hard
-
time answering and accepting the call. Sometimes we don't even bother answering that call.
-
Sometimes we put our fingers in our ears. I know I did for
-
about twelve years. I ran from the call of a minister because I knew
-
of the consequences of ministry. I knew how bad it would hurt to preach.
-
You guts out literally and just see people do what they were to do.
-
I knew how bad it would hurt to see people get warned. And
-
it didn't matter how you delivered it. If you talk the warning, or
-
if you preach the warning, if you try to pull some out with a
-
fire of the Holy Ghost, or you just got done on your knees and
-
preach the love and Jesus was so much compassion and trying to pull No matter
-
how you preached it, no matter the delivery of whatever missionary, evangelist,
-
apostle, missip or preaching or prophet that come by, it's going to be
-
rejected by some people that simply just want to reject it. And so the
-
truth is the majority of God's people right here rejected the truth. And that's
-
what we see within christian and Christianity today, Brother Nathan dool As. The
-
people just don't want to accept God's word as the truth, and they don't
-
realize that their rejection of this written word is going to bring extreme consequences.
-
They don't want to imagine that they're going to have to pay the price for
-
rejecting the word of God or for not keeping the word of God. This
-
is why the man said, thy word have I hid in my heart that
-
I might not sit against you. What he's saying is, if I can't
-
get a hard copy of what is written, I need to have that hard
-
copy somehow mirrored in my heart so that I can pull the word. We're
-
responsible for this that is written. Whether we want to go by a copy
-
of this King James version of Bible and apply it to our lives and put
-
it in our heart or not, we're still responsible for what is written.
-
And Jesus demonstrated this whenever Lucifer appeared to him in the wilderness. Jesus was
-
led of the spirit, not led of Lucifer, not the consequences and the
-
fall of temptation. Jesus was led by the holy that goes to go into
-
the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. For a forty day period,
-
Jesus combated the devil not with feelings or emotions. Jesus combated the devil with
-
what is written. And that's what we have to do. And I'm going
-
somewhere right here, so you'll bear with me here, So cheer minds in
-
the middle of a bad situation, its sister one to stare. You did
-
such a great job testifying tonight, and I want this sermon to go down
-
into archives and on record, because one day I will stand in this pulpit
-
and just tell you how important it was that that you obeyed the Lord and
-
got your shout. I cannot tell you right now. I am not at
-
liberty to tell you right now just how important it was that you did whatever
-
it was that you did that got you into that outer realm and got you
-
lost into the presence, that lost in the presence of God, and that
-
got you to that place where you could give a message in tone to where
-
your prastor could be walking down the island of the church and get the interpretation.
-
One day, Sisister, I will explain to you just how miraculous that
-
was. Because there's somebody in this building that said God spoke something into their
-
heart. That's tragic, sisisteric God spoke something into somebody's heart, that's tragic.
-
While you were getting blessed and that you had shouted and got into the
-
print, God spoke some things into Jeremiah's heart. That was tragic. Concerning
-
God's people, It was tragic. Concerning the capital city, it was tragic
-
it's not suff that somebody was looking for. They weren't expecting that. They
-
didn't expect that morning to wake up and hear the preachers say, Hey,
-
never Kannazzar is coming into Hords of Babylon and they're gonna raise our city.
-
Seemingly everything is gonna fall apart. We're gonna get into despair. The people
-
of God are gonna fall into despair. Of the same people to clap their
-
hands and said, the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us. That's
-
right, But we can leave the Lord and forsake him. That is true.
-
The Lord does not desire to ever leave you. He will never leave
-
you. But as Sister Hammond said, it coincides with what Sister Sprots message
-
and Tones spoke, and the interpretation was, yes, my child, I
-
have spoken to thee. That person was wondering what meaneth this and the speaking
-
to them concerning their life. How could this be in the middle of revival,
-
talking about bellies that are full of living water, oil, holy ghost
-
power, holy ghost fire. How could somebody be praying man or woman and
-
be in the spirit and suddenly hear a whisper from heaven that says there's a
-
tragedy coming to your life. Oh thank God for preparation, Sister Hammon,
-
And so I will never forget. As real as tonight's message became to me
-
just about an hour before church and God changed my direction, I will never
-
forget walking dow them through the aisle theres the Holy Ghost spoke to me the
-
interpretation of that message and that person message me into church, said Pastor,
-
if you only knew, I was just kneeling there saying, was that you
-
God? Was it the voice of my Master? Is that my imagination?
-
Is that a demon in hell? Is that me? Is that my conscience?
-
I'm talking here tonight, Christ versus conscience? Is this a featment of
-
my imagination? Is this just something I've worked up? And immediately, Sisters
-
terit gets into spirit and she goes against her nature, and she gets loud,
-
and you hear the Holy Ghost and begin to erupt of all can or
-
robs that her voice exposed as Heaven's oracle, and it begins to just saturate
-
the place, and a holy hush comes settling down like spiritual love, and
-
everybody's hearts firing, and we're ready for the voice of God. Everybody's saying,
-
speak God, and immediately God says, yes, that was me.
-
Cheremie knew that he had been led of God to preach and talk about these
-
things that were forthcoming. But now here it is as a party. What
-
we're gonna do, what we're gonna do? Oh how, that's what lamentations
-
means. The first word in this book is how, oh, how,
-
how are we going to cope now that this has come to pass? How
-
are we going to deal with this? How are we gonna get past this?
-
And for the sake of time, I want them, I want to
-
move on. But I do want to point out that even John the Beloved,
-
when he was in the spirit, he heard Jesus speak to him and
-
the John chapter number three and verse number nineteen, and he said, as
-
many as I love Revelations chapter number three and verse number nineteen. John the
-
Beloved said, as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten, be
-
zealous therefore and repent. So God loved them people before they compromised and they
-
got hurt. A preacher can never preach anything more direct that he preaches the
-
word of God that convicts. The preacher can never preach anything more correct than
-
when he preaches the word of God that convicts. And if you'll really listen
-
to what people say, most of the time they have not fallen out with
-
the mail or the mail man. They have fallen out with a spirit of
-
Christ that is pleading with them through conviction not to compromise, not to turn
-
from righteousness unto unrighteousness. Because I could testify from personal experience as a holiness
-
preacher that's trying to preserve holiness for the next generation. Ten thousand devils come
-
to me every year telling me to be all right, to compromise in the
-
smallest ways. And so the easiest thing for somebody to do who wants to
-
compromise and to go in another direction is persecute the preacher and say I don't
-
like the delivery, I don't like the style. That's just a no greater
-
arguments. That's an excuse. That's so easy, that's elementary. They're still
-
in poopy diapers. Whendn't they do that? That has no validity. That's
-
just so illegitimate. That's such an legitimate reason to despise them. So wait
-
a minute, somebody hurt me, So I'm gonna get bitter ratter than get
-
better. Somebody preached the truth and I didn't like the way the mail was
-
delivered, So I'm going to despise the truth. I'm not buying it.
-
You can't be deceived by that. You have to realize that that's somebody that's
-
operating in condemnation. And I'm just now in my message that I'm teaching you,
-
not I'm canceling you from behind the pastor's death. So they're operating and
-
condemnation. They're not operating in conviction. In this church, a lot of
-
times I hear people stand up and they erroneously say, I thank God for
-
condemnation. What they mean to say is I thank God for holy goes conviction,
-
like brother Starrett here said tonight, because God will slap you down to
-
your knees with a word that God says, there is therefore now no condemn
-
nation to them which are in Christ Jesus. I feel like here tonight that
-
I am a victor from the spirit of condemnation. There's a lot of you
-
that did not know me as a child, continually, incessantly, without ceasing
-
day night. My parents can testify to this. I would pray at least
-
three times an hour, for at least a couple of minutes. Every twenty
-
minutes, I would say, God, I don't want to do anything to
-
disappoints or displeases you. God, I don't want to do anything at all
-
that would bring down your iron fist upon me. God, I don't want
-
to do anything at all that would cast me away from your presence. There
-
was people that supposed that was the purity of my soul. One of my
-
business partners, he recently messaged me, said I wanted to tell you something
-
that somebody said about two years ago. They said they've never met a more
-
pure soul. Because you were praying all the time. At Christian's school,
-
I got best Christian character several times because the school teacher said they walked by
-
and heard me praying. That's because i used to pray through condemnation. But
-
now I've learned to pray through conviction, Holy ghost conviction. What is the
-
difference. Well, I'll tell you this concerning Christ and the conscience. The
-
conscience is an inner feeling or a voice viewed as acting as a guide to
-
doing right. There is no doubt. Up until I got saved, I
-
had what's called an overactive or an innocent conscience, because when I was about
-
three years old, I think they say I would go to the bathroom and
-
send my MoMA out the door, and I say, you're not gonna see
-
me like this. I want to be modest. They said, Man,
-
this guy was so pure minded even when he was three years old. An
-
inner or an act of conscience, right, but overactive Jonathan. I remember
-
just a couple of years ago, standing outside of my house receiving a phone
-
call for Brother Jonathan, and he said, Pastor, how I need prayer.
-
I'm not attending your church right now, but I need prayer. I
-
said, Okay, does your pastor know about this? Is the okay with
-
it? Well, my grandpa's my pastor. I believe it'd be okay with
-
it. Well, I'm just constantly thinking that I've sinned and I failed God.
-
I live a miserable life. Do you remember this, Brother Jonathan?
-
And I went out there where I was earlier today. You saw me walking
-
up and down that road today and I did the same thing you saw me
-
doing today, Brother Jonathan, and I talked to you for about an hour
-
and I said, for God said, when our heart condemns us God is
-
greater than our heart. And they said, even as easy going as brother
-
Danny was at times, because he would get weary with Jonathan at all hours
-
of the day and coming in there and knock it on the door. Hey
-
dad, hey mob, hey dad, hey ma. I don't know if
-
I'm ready to meet God or not. I don't know if my heart's right
-
with God. Because he'd get condemned about something that he had been doing ever
-
so little, that problem that most people in this building would not have even
-
felt bad about. I mean, I would feel bad about welcome by somebody's
-
desk and taking their pencil off their desk and borrowing it without asking them,
-
although I fully intended to return it. There's some people in this building their
-
inner conscience wouldn't be overactive. It wouldn't even act out at all. They
-
put the pen in their pocket, forget all about having borrowed it, take
-
it home, and it be at the house for the rest of them the
-
school year. And so there's people in this building tonight that they have that
-
overactive conscience, and that overactive conscience will tell us continually, Brother Rick Jacob,
-
you've said against God, You've trespassed, You're filthy, you're despicable,
-
you're vile, you're unworthy, you're never good enough. Right, So we
-
thank God for that inner voice, that inner feeling that speaks to us and
-
that guides us in dueling. Right. But what do you do, brother
-
Jonathan, when you're at that place where it's an interconscious Yes, it's an
-
inner feeling, an inner voice, but it's overactive. There's people just building
-
that have no idea what we're talking about becoming realther Jonathan, is it real
-
or what is it measurable to have that? I mean, most people perceive
-
it as a blessing, but somebody that possesses that is borderline a tormented person.
-
We're tormented in a good way, but we are molested by our own
-
overactive conscious. Brother Jonathan E vold us the safe From the time you were
-
a child until you moved down here. How many times you're inner conscious,
-
that conscious inner voice, that inner spirit that Jonathan Edwards nature that's inside of
-
you when that body's going who you are as a person. If I was
-
to ask you, how many times did you beat yourself? But how many
-
times did you question whether or not you were worthy of God's mercy? And
-
grace. But whether or not there was a god, it was just waiting
-
to grab you by the neck, by the nap of the neck and throw
-
you in the hell. You'd have to say, old pastor, it was
-
twenty fifty times, like some of us building would say, you'd say tens
-
of thousands of times, because you dealt with it hours on end of day.
-
Is that correct. There's some of us looking at us right now,
-
brother Jonathan, and they're like, I do not even know what you're talking
-
about. I'll tell you when that spirit's got a hold of you, and
-
it's not a demon spirit. But whenever you have an overactive conscience, you
-
can't go to bedhart until about three in the morning because you're beating yourself up
-
because you pulled over in front of somebody. Maybe you made them feel bad,
-
so you feel bad about it. There's no way for you to apologize
-
to them. Man, I would have never done that. I feel terrible.
-
How could I get in touch with that person and apologize to them.
-
There's people in this building they just care free, careless. But brother,
-
well, we have a conscious like that like you and I have. Oh,
-
brother, how easy it is to just be so so tormented, and
-
Brother Jonathan, thank you, you could sit down. But but what that
-
was the condemnation, That was the devil, and I think Brother Danny and
-
they said one time, you finally said, listen, you gotta believe the
-
Bible for what it says. Is that, right, brother Danny. After
-
all of that hours, hours, years years years years, Hey Bob,
-
hey Dad, there lives normal. They're not dealing with an overactive conscious.
-
They're not constantly hearing themselves talk to themselves. I'm not talking about strange voices
-
or dembonic voices. I'm talking about pure hearts, people that don't want to
-
be offensive to God. But the devil gets in there, he hijacks it.
-
He puts you in the passenger seat, and the devil realizes that you've
-
got that sensitive or overactive conscious and he puts it into overdrive. So what
-
was good has now become a problem. And because you allowed the deafer to
-
operate in condemnation and you put the Holy Ghost out and you didn't respond to
-
conviction, now you're in overdrive and all you can think about is your faults
-
and your failures. You never see the hope of the opportunity for repair.
-
All you see is your condition of despair. And we see that Jeremiah is
-
trying his best in this writing by the Road Cup. He's taught, trying
-
to turn tragedy in the Triumph. I'll tell you this, when you have
-
a very sensitive conscious and it's overactive, you can be on the job trying
-
to work and it can be wearing you out. You can be playing the
-
game in high school and it can be wearing you out. I'm telling you
-
here tonight, I'm talking to somebody. You have to get victory over condemnation.
-
So our conscience brings us to condemnation, but Christ brings us to conviction.
-
Talking about Christ versus conscience. Okay, So conviction and condemnation, both
-
of these to make people miserable. When Jeremiah was preaching, they were first
-
convicted, but when they refused to repent, Sister Wooten, when they refused
-
to repent and change their ways. That's what God said, that my people
-
which are called by my name, which are these people which is us,
-
will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways. Then will I
-
hear from heaven and heal their land. So conviction Christ offers us conviction.
-
He sends us preachers and they preach a message, and we're supposed to respond
-
and we're supposed to change or y'all get in this. But when we do
-
not respond and we do not make the changes that conviction was a didn't even
-
do to us, then rather than getting better, we get bitter because carding
-
them name. Here's what's happening, whatever the preacher says. And I've been
-
hurt by this. I had a young woman playing on my platform, playing
-
Amanda, and no names were being called. Most of you would not even
-
know except for Sister Rutner said she confronted the compromisers today. I'm preaching my
-
guts out, trying to help people be spirit and led, and I just
-
in my preaching, I said, I feel like somebody's bright and vivid.
-
I didn't call any names at the church. That young girl come to me,
-
and I ain't told us publicly in years. I don't even know that
-
I ever even told her act she told me, But I will tell it
-
now because most of you don't even know who it is. But she came
-
to me and said, how did you know? I said, I don't
-
know. She said, well, I've been going down there the mamas and
-
I've been sipping on some wine. And she looked at me and with her
-
own mouth, she said, I guess I better set myself down for the
-
third time. I said, well you said it. I didn't, but
-
thank you for me and easy on me. And it was just great.
-
I mean, the correction was there. They knew I was a disciplinarian.
-
It was like the kid said, Dad, I know I done wrong.
-
Just fessed up to it before judgment came. But she did not want to
-
turn this when we got to confess and forsake. And so because she wasn't
-
willing to forsake it, she knew I'm going to continue in this. Shall
-
we continue and sin that grace may avowed God forbid? How shall them that
-
are dead any longer to sin continue therein So finally, brother Jonathan and I
-
at some point we stopped wrestling with those things, whatever they were, even
-
if they were little things, because of this, small foxes as fall the
-
while a lot of you deal from time to time with the spirit of end
-
be or the spirit of jealousy, or the spirit of luster. I mean,
-
you just deal with these spirits and you got to turn from it.
-
You got to risk. The Bible said, if you'll resist the devil,
-
he will plea from you. I believe that God that saved my soul and
-
saved brother Jonathan Saul, and it's told us how to have victory over the
-
spirit of condemnation can do for others the same thing that he did for us.
-
But the devil wants to dupe you and deceive you and get you to
-
the place where you're in disparit you where you peel like there is no way
-
this can come to an end. It can't come to an end. You
-
just followed God's plant. A sister's Derek said tonight, if God bid you
-
to shout with a loud shout, you have to shout right there, because
-
that couldn't be the key to victory. That could be that what makes you
-
a victor rather than a victim. Personally, I feel like when I answered
-
the call to preach, I finally got victory over the spirit of condemnation.
-
Now again, when I got married, I was pure Morley. I didn't
-
tell lies, I didn't steal. I was an easy going guy. I
-
wasn't a brawler. I could have met the credentials of a bishop. I
-
mean I could have been accepted and had been offered opportunities in churches as to
-
how he was sactified the Holy Ghost field just because of my character, just
-
because of who I was. But inside I was tormented because of condemnation.
-
What was it that God was telling me to do that He wasn't telling anybody
-
else to do. He was telling me to get involved in ministry, help
-
others preach the gospel. That's what Apostle Paul said, Who would to me
-
if I preach not the gospel? And so you take man, this is
-
frivolous, like sisters there it did for years. Somebody told me today they
-
listened to curse cheerleaders. They said, Jereman and brother Caleb said us to
-
He said, Pastor, They said, Jeremy said, four years ago.
-
However long ago, Brother Caleb said, four years ago? He said,
-
four years ago. You were saying things then that you've been imposing and forcing
-
and preaching to us over the last couple of weeks. God is still speaking
-
to us just like you did four years ago. He said. I wonder
-
why is he still speak to us in that manner? Because God is trying
-
his best through his prophet to his servant to tell you the key to your
-
victory has let out blood, clonel and cry. Somebody said, God's not
-
in all that holler, and God's not in all that shot. Why did
-
blind Barnabas had to get loud? Why is Jesus coming back with a shout?
-
Why? Why does the Bible say God has gone up with a shower
-
the lad with a sound of a trumpet. Why? And so here's what
-
happens when we refuse to obey God. And that's what these people done,
-
Brother Nathaniel. That's why we have a book that is nothing more than a
-
description of a funeral of a city. Because people didn't feel like what God
-
said. He meant, I mean, if God gets specific to you and
-
he tells you to take a lap around the church, and he went,
-
I mean, why would you have told the children of Israel walk around the
-
walls of Jericho. That could have just stood there, held their posture and
-
just prayed a little bit quietly and reverently, and said, God, but
-
you please take down them walls of Jericho. What about them disciples that follow
-
Jesus? What about all the manifestations of the spirit and how God used them?
-
And manifested himself. God desires for us to obey him. And I've
-
noticed that since brother Jonathan got here, there's been some changes that he has
-
made to his life that has helped alleviate that spirit of condemnation. I'm not
-
saying that it's been gone on always. I must say that it hasn't come
-
back, because when you're blessed with such a wonderful conscience as that, and
-
you have a sensitive conscience a man, that's one of them things you do
-
not lose unless you syric come on proofs to him. Are y'all following me
-
or paying attention? Okay, paying attention, so that conscious is an interfering
-
or a voice viewed as acting as a guy. You know, Hitler at
-
one time had a conscience. They said whenever he was a kid, that
-
if a dog was going without it was astray, he would go to Malma's
-
cupboard and getting that dog something to eat, take it out there and feeding
-
that dog. Did y'all know they said that Hitler one time watched the boy
-
stumble and fall and hit his head on the chair. And Hitler got down
-
there and held the boy and banged his own head on the chair and beat
-
up the chair for the boy. Do y'all know? They said that Hitler
-
would look at people that didn't have anything to eat in the city streets and
-
go out of his way to go down there and buy something from the bakery
-
or the coffee shop and take him handled to the homeless people. But brother
-
roquap he has recorded in history as one of the most evil dictators this world
-
has ever known. There was obvious was something in him that was trying to
-
make him very good. In fact, he was a blessing to society.
-
He was a people's person. He was somebody that just went out of his
-
way to make somebody else's life better. He sensitive to people. You see
-
the elderly person over there in the wheelchair trying to push themselves into the marketplace.
-
Oh they can't do that. Let me go over there and help them.
-
That's what when you have that intercost, you have that overactive conscious,
-
you think about do you see things nobody else sees? Brother johnthan that's like
-
when brother Johnathan sees things not going quite right at my house, he'll go
-
the extra mile to fix it. But it's even concerning chickens. And he's
-
aware. He has this inner feeling. I just need to do right in
-
a situation. And that's why Sister Tracy, I knew he was in trouble
-
when he was littering against his conscious. And he said, when he stopped
-
being a litter bug, he got the Holy ghost. What he was doing.
-
He was overrating that conscious. Every time he's gotter that litter out on
-
the highway. He was becoming more rebellious, Brother Jesse, until he got
-
past feeling concerning that situation. And that's what happens when we go against the
-
counture. Hey the preacher had my message tonight. Hey the preacher, come
-
right now on my road. The power of God was moving. Everybody in
-
church was shouting with a loud shout. Everybody was clapping their hands. Everybody
-
was obeying God. God had ordered the steps of the righteous man tonight,
-
and we obeyed God and we had a blessing. But instead of going home
-
as a victor tonight, I'm going home as a victim to my own conscious,
-
rather than going home as a victor to conviction. Viction. So we're
-
letting our conscious win over Christ. So condemnation leads to destruction. But Brother
-
Tyler, conviction brings with it a godly grief, and it leads us to
-
repentance, which leads us to true joy. Did y'all get that condemnation leads
-
us to destruction. Condemnation leads us to destruction. No, I don't want
-
to live holy. I want to gwine Bill and I don't want the preacher.
-
And if I do get called, I'm gonna make sure he knows he
-
caught me. The preacher starts preaching on the spirit of lust. The same
-
person come to me and said, how did you know? I said,
-
what in the word are you talking about? Said? This weekend, I
-
slipped down there to an X rated movie and watched it. How did you
-
know? I said, I didn't know. I said, I assume because
-
of the way you have a platform standard if you don't want to be playing
-
on your platform, I said, that's exactly right. But now all of
-
a sudden, I've been hurt. People that don't want to do the word
-
of God. That's the easiest thing in the world for them to do while
-
their world is falling apart, while they're living in shambles because of their compromise.
-
It's easy for everybody to point through the rubble at the prophet and say
-
he hurt me. I mean, how many people said, if you read
-
the Word of God jeralized words, hurt me. I don't approve of that.
-
In fact, you ought to be in prison for his words. You'll
-
see that happen in this great United States of America. At some point they're
-
gonna take a point the finger at the preacher that preaches against them moorality,
-
preaches against homosexuality. You what, it'll be the preacher's fault because of people
-
turning over to the spirits of Hordems and homosexuality as that preacher's fault, that
-
the preacher wasn't poking the bear. And we wouldn't have nothing in the world
-
about hey worry about Oh yes, you would. You need the profit preaching.
-
And the truth is, as long as we go against the grain of
-
the Word of God, we're gonna get splinters in our life. Condemnation leads
-
to destruction. So when they say I've been hurt, they hurt themselves.
-
And it's true. Conviction will lead you to do better, while condemnation will
-
lead you to be bitter. Say that with me. Conviction will lead you
-
to do better. Condemnation will lead you to be bitter Condemnation screams in our
-
face to y'all, here system him and say one inch in your face,
-
one inch in your face. Damnation will scream in our faces, how bad
-
and how ugly we are. Well, the only thing we did was pass
-
up a stray dog. That's me. They said, I'd bring every stray
-
animal home that I could, Brother Tyler. One time I brought one home
-
that was blind, and it ran around for three days in a circle.
-
Finally somebody took that little puppy and put it out of his misery. They
-
said, do you remember bring anything home? I should have got that dog.
-
I should have brought that home. I should have done this. I
-
found in this I should have done better. It is good to push yourself
-
to perfection. It is good to strive unto holiness. It is good to
-
push yourself so hard. But when the devil realizes you're pushing yourself. I
-
need somebody that's very athletic like I was. Come, brother, Philip,
-
know that I love you, brother, and please land good. But when
-
you're pushing hard anyway, pushing hard, there's some muscle arts. That is
-
the strategy is if you can't push against that force, then you go with
-
that force. So all of a sudden, I'm pushing, and I realize,
-
this guy has a wonderful conscience. It's overactive, it's an inner conscious.
-
So the best thing for me to do is overwork it. Now,
-
all of a sudden, I just had to push with the pressure that he
-
was pushing against. Meca, y'all see that, I'm telling you. I'm
-
teaching you here tonight. So that there's some people they repent over everything.
-
I mean, they repent for giving somebody a bad look. I thought,
-
I wish some of our holiness preachers that don't even lift the finger to get
-
in the altar and pray with somebody would at least have enough condemnation or enough
-
conscience that would bring them into condemnation to realize. They preach to us for
-
an hour and then did not even try to pray with somebody for two minutes.
-
But they don't have a conscience. They don't have an inner guide that
-
would tell them you ought to get on down there and finish what you started.
-
Are y'all following pastor out here tonight? So Christ is an inner voice
-
inside of all of us, and he is pushing us to do right but
-
Christ will never push you down flat on your face. He will cause you
-
to drop to your knees and repent, and he will allow things to be
-
the disciplinarians in our lives. But we should realize how compassionate Christ is and
-
for the sacond time will move all. But what do what happened out off
-
Hitler? What happened to him? They said he experienced a break up and
-
he never would forgive that person for what happened. And I don't know if
-
that's true or not executive what all took place in his life, But with
-
each that he was such a blessing and society, he went in the opposite
-
direction, in an extreme. And so brother Nathaniel got past the condemnation.
-
He never listened to the conviction, and then he started destroying his own life.
-
So condemnation screams in our face, how bag and bad and hell ugly
-
we are. So at some point here's what ad Alf Hitter believed. Yeah,
-
you know what, I'm very bad and not very ugly. And if
-
I'm a monster, I might as well see myself as a monster. And
-
if I perceived myself as I gonna get into perceived myself as bad and ugly.
-
Then I might as well just live it out because that's who I am.
-
That's what happens when you feel like you overlooked that person on the street
-
corner that day, and you go home and you eat a nice feel and
-
your conscience tells you you pulled into condemnation and realize you could have did better.
-
You had another ten minutes where you could have wouldn't picked up a six
-
piece chicken nugget and operate it. You see, you can see that Hitler
-
was operating in a powerful interconsciousnre There's something motivating him, brother Caleb, that
-
wasn't motivating nobody else. But the devil got a hold of that and begin
-
to beat him up and torment until he's not good enough. He will never
-
be good enough. You missed to hear you're bad. You missed to hear
-
you bad, whether you're ugly, in fact, you're worthless. Look at
-
that you're not helping people the way you should. That he gets hurt,
-
and rather than getting bitter to a conviction, he gets better. This man
-
could have been a David of his day in the land in Germany. This
-
man could have directed that passion and that love properly for a little bit longer.
-
If he'd just met Jesus and allowed Jesus to direct that in the way
-
that it should have gone, he would have been a wonderful pastor to some
-
parishioners. But instead he becomes a monster of society. One thing we must
-
never do as admit to ourselves or the devil, that we're a monster.
-
What we had to do we had to go through a book like this,
-
that is a book that describes the funeral of a city. And we've got
-
to say, wait a minute. Despite we've even been disciplined by the disciplinary
-
in Jesus, I realized that Jesus is still very compassionate towards me. So
-
hur Condemnation is screaming in my face, how bad and how ugly I am.
-
Conviction, which first in my era, how much he loves us?
-
I mean, in the midst of this rubble, Jeremiah realizes how much God
-
loves these people? Why how does he come to this awareness? Because he
-
sees the mercies of God? What y'all look at our text again? So
-
condemnation draws us further away, while conviction pulls us closer. I heard of
-
a man that had got bitter because of a father that had beat him.
-
He showed his son great love. In fact, he was seamless, and
-
his love for his child, it was such a pure love, so he
-
thought, and he was always just going above and beyond to do good things
-
for that child. And if he's gotten going pretty bad for him on the
-
job, and that he's got it going pretty bad between him and his spouse,
-
he started taking it out on the children. Pretty soon. He believed
-
he himself was a monster, but just somebody, man, My conscience is
-
telling me you're sorry. My conscience is speaking to me and telling me you're
-
worthless. And he got to the place, brother Tyler, where that kid
-
he loved so much, he would have gave his life for that kid.
-
That he knew. I will never hurt that kid the way my daddy hurt
-
me. Y'all listen now. One day come outside and his little boy had
-
a ballpeen hammer and was knocking on his corvette. That man had just got
-
that before of that, and that man reacted and took that ballpeen hammer and
-
beat every finger off of his son. You can't allow that conscience to work
-
you over until the place you accept the idea I am who I am,
-
because as soon as you accept that, or admit to somebody that you don't
-
admit to nothing right. I will never admit if I'm sitting in the asspile
-
of the city of Jerusalem, I will confess my sins and forsake them and
-
admit that I trespassed against God. But I will never admit that my life
-
is not salleageable. I will never admit that I'm unworthy because I cannot.
-
As a student of the Word of God, I realize that his mercies are
-
new every morning, and that his compassion towards me is infallible. It will
-
never fail. Every person that's committed suicide needed to hear tonight's lesson. Every
-
person that's about to commit suicide needs to hear tonight's lesson. You can beat
-
yourself proper rather than going to the word of God. You'll beat yourself up.
-
Yeah, it's true, Brother Nathaniel. I can understand how people can
-
understand just how holy God is, and I can see how people would expect
-
God to react the way he did here because he's the creator, He's the
-
one that gave us this earth. He ought to be honored and He ought
-
to be respected. We ought to respect his words. We ought to keep
-
his commandments. When God speaks, if he says shout, you want to
-
be the first one to shall. If God says take a victory lap,
-
you ought to be the first one to take a victory lap. If God
-
says, take somebody a living pound cake, you ought to be the first
-
one to take somebody a living pound cake. You know there's people in here,
-
Brother Jonathan, that don't have that sensitive, overactive conscient God could tell
-
them to take somebody a living pound cake. They won't do it for a
-
year and never feel about it, losing ounce to sleep, not one minute
-
to sleep over it. But Brother Howell, the difference of Brother how and
-
you is this, and I speak of the fool. If God told me
-
to take somebody in living parent cake, I would have a real hard time
-
sleeping at night, and about it the crack of dawn. I would be
-
at Walmart. If I didn't have the time to make it, I would
-
be buying one and showing up at somebody's house and hanging it on the door
-
knob. Because of the conscience and the voice of Christ beckoning to me for
-
obedience. That's what Jesus was doing. He was convicting these people through the
-
preacher time and again. And here's what God told me yesterday, I was
-
walking through my house. He said, I don't care how many times the
-
gates of fire force swing open. He said, when I asked somebody to
-
obey me, obedience is better than sacrifice and the heart and than the fat
-
of rams. And we said, well, God, I am obeying you
-
in every manner, are we really or is there a residue, a residual
-
in there? This shouldn't be still of ourselves, you know that temptation for
-
Brother Howard to night. You know, I'd rather preach and teach. I'd
-
rather just go all running ninety miles an hour just in case the world out
-
there needs to hear something. But no, we got to slow down to
-
night. Talk to somebody that's being handed by their conscious. Yeah, that
-
conscious is a good guard dog, it sure is. It's a good watch
-
dog. But some of y'all's barks all night. I knew what it was
-
for buying to bark all night. Sister Howe has been raising the puppies for
-
me. She does a wonderful job of that. She loves that she don't
-
care taking a road about chickens, but she loves puppies. But Brother rodecap
-
whenever she sets them up. She says them just outside our bedroom wind at
-
night and Mama and the puppies are yapping and all long long, Brother Jonathan,
-
there's people to sleep through a tornado and a whirlwind and all that.
-
But Brother Jonathan and I, we just can't sleep through it. And was
-
somebody disrespect fixing to preach a little bit here, but with somebody disrespects the
-
pastor or somebody acts out of line out in Churchill. There's some of it's
-
just like water off a duck's back, but there's some of you. You're
-
seeing bullets and you get man that gets stuck in your crawl and you get
-
so angry. That's the kind of people if we're not careful because we say
-
they ain't nobody should talking about pastor like that. I don't care how holy
-
they think they are. What we have to remember is word but flesh and
-
blood. And then He knows our praying. And I know that there's people
-
that are overriding the conscious and the boss of Christ. There are people going
-
past the fiction and going through condemnation to destruction. People are not getting better,
-
they're getting bitter. I understand all of that, but as Sister Platque
-
used to say, I'm only responsible for myself. And if you allow that
-
guard dog inside of you, that inner conscious, to bark all night long,
-
you will lose peace of mind. I'm telling you right now. I've
-
been saying, God, I need rest. And that's what happens young men
-
and young women, moms and dads. If you let that inner conscious just
-
yap and yap, and yeah, you will come out of the bed a
-
wild eyed monster and say, you know what, I'm not worthy of living
-
this way. I'm not worthy of serving God. Why bother am I hoping
-
you all to night? Yeah? And I know there's those people, Brother
-
Johnson, right now that could burn the world down to sleep like a baby.
-
You'll might not believe that there's people in this building right now. I
-
wonder sometimes of Tyler's even got a conscious. And I don't mean that in
-
a bad way, but Sister Woodness, things like things just don't bother him.
-
Yeah. I don't know if he gets that from his granddad or who
-
he gets that from, But Sister Wooton she's got one of those sensitive,
-
overactive consciousness. I know that because a lot of times she comes to me
-
and says, brother, how I've been thinking about this and I just want
-
you to know that. I want to make sure I'm good with you on
-
this end. And I think, man, she's been thinking about some things.
-
Some things have been bothering her. She's been laying into bed at night
-
wondered did I speak wrong to my brother? Did I speak wrong to my
-
sister? And she tries to make it right. There's some people I believe
-
they could get on Jordy's back with spurs and then just claw him to death
-
and didn't rake him with them spurs, Brother Jordan until Jesus come back,
-
and never feel bad about it. But there's some people. If they just
-
walked by Brother Jordian, didn't shake his hand, shake my hand, Brother
-
Jordan. And if they just didn't shake his hand, they bill some bad.
-
They couldn't wait till the next church service to get over there and shake
-
Brother Jordy's hand. You watch it, You tell God's been convicting them.
-
They're own spirits, been convicted them. First thing they do walk over here
-
and shake brother Jordie's hand. There's some people that will never feel the need
-
to shake Brother Tiler's head. Condemnation is what's made them bitter, and it's
-
what makes them say I've been hurt. I mean, Jesus got beaten beyond
-
recognition, as sister would said tonight, And she didn't know this was in
-
my notes. His old mother couldn't hardly identify him except for his wonderful spirit.
-
His interals were hanging out of his back. Then they expected him to
-
hang on across after carrying it. Now, whenever I was dealing with that
-
overactive conscious rather than listening to the voice of Christ, Brother Jonathan, I
-
remember I had this feeling that Jesus was this big bully standing on the back
-
side of a corner somewhere, just out of sight, and that at any
-
given moment, because of my misdoing, He's gonna beat me to a bloody
-
pulp with that stick. Finally I realized that he wasn't wanting to beat me
-
with that stick. He himself would climb up on a stick. He loved
-
me enough that he would allow a Roman soldier to pierce him through with a
-
stick that had a sharp, pointy obtick on the end of it until water
-
poled out of his side, so he didn't come into this world. John
-
three sixteen, one of our cover texts for God. For God so loved
-
the world that he gave his own and begot son. The whosoever believes in
-
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And that is the most
-
well known verse of scripture in the world. It always has been, always
-
will be. What is that followed by? Not? What fore runs it?
-
What follows it? John three seventeen. For God sent not his son
-
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might
-
be saved. Oh I feel good. We have to not allow the devil
-
to convince us we are not God's children. There is no way that the
-
one that climbed up on the stick would beat you with a stick. That's
-
why I climbed up on the stick. For about two weeks now, it's
-
been repetitive in my soul. All have sin and paulish short of the glory
-
of God. All have had ill temper, all have had short vieuses,
-
all have made mistakes. There's nobody in this building perfect, but we're trying.
-
That's why I said strive to be perfect. That's why I said be
-
perfect, even as your father in Heaven is perfect. If any of you
-
start being as perfect as God, I'm resigning as church and your pastor,
-
man or woman, board child of you figure that one out, you're gonna
-
be pastor. But all has said, that's cheremy howell, that's Danny Edwards
-
have fallen short of this tremendous glory of God that we don't want to miss.
-
That that doesn't mean start missing out on the glory of God. That
-
just means, because of the the priority of the human nature, of the
-
academic nature, there's gonna be times you're just gonna slip. And I tell
-
you how you beat that. Brother Johnny Platt, he taught us how he
-
beat lie and a sister who should be the only one broken by the pack.
-
That he's not gonna beat you with a stick when he Dino. See,
-
she's right now letting that conscience take her through the voice of Christ.
-
Oh, I feel it, brother Rocap. I know people right now,
-
if they had a responded to conviction, they would be among the righteous holy
-
people of God still to this day. But because they didn't positively respond,
-
but rather adverse and responded to conviction. They are now living in condemnation,
-
and you can walk by them and one of the first things they say is,
-
don't judge. Don't judge, don't judge. That's people that's condemned already.
-
We're already condemned. So for God sitting out a son into the world
-
to condemn the world. For years, for years, brother Nathaniel, I
-
lived thinking he was the God that would beat me with a stick. But
-
now my sons, it doesn't matter where they're at it. Who run to
-
the auction, or if we're at the auction you watch long enough and close
-
enough, or if we're fishing. At some point, I'll put my hands
-
up and I'll say, thank you Lord. It will happen. If you're
-
ever with me for more than an hour, Brother calib you probably seen it
-
on a mission field, driving down a mountain. At some point I will
-
say thank you Lord that I'm no longer living in condemnation. I'm gonna say
-
that that condemnation started out well, but I could tell just before the Lord
-
saved me that that condemnation, if it wasn't put in check, it was
-
going to lead to bitterness again. I'm gonna say it one more time.
-
When you have a sensitive an overactive conscience, you say, how could anybody
-
look at my dear pastor in act that way? And there's people I'll say
-
it one more time. They'll show their fingure up their nose and scratch their
-
brain and then wipe the mess on the peg and they won't even think nothing
-
about I would say, thank you God that I have something we living me.
-
It's called a pure conscience that I want things to be in order.
-
I want my ducks to be in a room. I want people to obay
-
Jesus. I want people to be model parishioners. I want people to love
-
Christ. I want people. But when those people fail you, and when
-
you fail yourself, what you have to do. You have to look at
-
the cross. You have to look at the man that's on a stick and
-
realize, Brother Jesse, no matter what, right here, Jeremiah said,
-
he's gonna help him. I know you're on your face, and I know
-
you're down and out, you're in despair. You feel like you're despicable,
-
filthy and disgusting. And he's going to help him. I know, because
-
he's God, He's Creator, and I'm so imperfect. I know I deserve
-
destruction. I know that I deserve to be punished for every time I do
-
wrong. But I do know this brother Nathaniel, that he is full of
-
tender compassion. And I know a coordinary text right here tonight, Lamentations three.
-
Jeremiah said, it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed
-
because his compassions fail or not his compassion, said, Father, forgive them,
-
for they know not what they do. Now. The man had aim
-
out of his hand and drove the knell through his risk. I say somewhat
-
knew what he was doing. But I want to tell you when people disappoint
-
you and fail you, sometimes they don't have that wonderful conscious that you have,
-
and they don't even see it the way you see it. So God
-
never changes, right, God never changes. And this is what I want
-
you. Ought to remember every person in this world. They say there's eight
-
billion people now, and every person here to night sixty five, Harem,
-
he's here. If he loved you enough that while you were in your sins,
-
he died from you. The Bible described us as the filthy and the
-
awe scaring of the earth. So if when we were despicable and in our
-
sin, when we were a drug addict, when we were an athlete pursuing
-
our own dreams. But we were just a disinterested church kid named Dillon,
-
disinterested Dillon, distracted dialon if when we were at our worst, when you
-
were a lion cook at sour Cow and the hordes of Babylon was coming for
-
you, and there was a prophet literally named Jeremy Jeremiah good Day, there
-
was preaching and saying, Jesse will hold ye. Such a woman turned aside.
-
I'm so glad that you responded to conviction. Otherwise you would be that
-
rebellious pastor's son tonight to despise his holiness and righteousness and truth. And it's
-
saying, I'm bitter. I've been hurt because the Howard boys and Tyler Wooton
-
and Brother Caleb, brother Dialing, Brother Christian and all you others. Y'all
-
heard the same message. You've been preached to in the same manner. So
-
what's the difference. Somebody listened to the conscience and not Christ. Now Christ
-
is saying I saw you at your worst. I saw you when that young
-
woman from Texas was trying her best to destroy your life. I saw you
-
at your worst, when your daddy was up at night outside your bedroom doors
-
and you didn't know, you were oblivious to what was going on. It
-
was the mercies of God and the compassions of the Lord when you were at
-
your worst. Now I feel the Holy Ghost in here tonight when you use
-
a backslid and preach your son going to the gym and given the world hill.
-
The devil's trying to make you better. Thou hast and loved to my
-
soul, the Bible writers said, when we were at our worst, just
-
before the parents made the move and them devil's was trying to lure you down
-
the path at least instruction, when you was at you worse. He loves
-
you, sister Lauren, When brother Chris and I was back there trying to
-
pull for you and you couldn't make up from down, and I knew the
-
devil was trying to tear your life apart, and I went home because of
-
that sensitive, overactive conscience that I have, and I cried and stayed away,
-
go and I said, if I could just get at their feet just
-
better and turn it. When we were at our worst, Brother Samuel,
-
when a little girl come down from Kentucky seemingly on a mission to destroy your
-
life. The only thing Daddy could do was prayed. But the mercies of
-
the Lord he loves you, then. Don't you think he loves you now?
-
Sister Alicia, you said tonight that you're living your best life. That
-
devil can come to you tomorrow and say you're worthless. What you need to
-
tell that's sorry, succoring the devil Satan is he loved me when I was
-
down low, And if he loves me when I was unlovable, then he
-
must certainly love me now. Sister Cheryl, if he loved you when you
-
came in that night the storefront, having ran from God all in you and
-
the first lady could stand up and say, I feel like singing tonight,
-
will the Circle be unbroken? What she didn't know, as her husband had
-
a sermon that night titled will the Circle be Unbroken? I showed her at
-
the church my notes. We wept and cried together. He loves us,
-
to Cheryl, when her brother Duayanne was shocking up. Now, I feel
-
like the devil fought us tonight as the only start of this message, because
-
he knows if you get a hold of it, and you will if you
-
won't to. If you get a hold of what I'm teaching tonight, you
-
will be unstoppable. His mercies are new every morning, every time the sun
-
comes up. It's just as rich, and it's just as brand new.
-
If he hung on that cross for you at your worst, don't you think
-
he's supporting you now, Sister Alicia, at your best? It's obvious he's
-
a disciplinarian, yes, And it is obvious there as consequences for our sin.
-
And it's obvious that I cannot continue and sin that grace Man found for
-
if I continue living and said, I'm gonna face consequences and he'll destroy my
-
city. I understand why he would do that. He fashioned the world by
-
his spoken word and then had to redeem it with his own very life's blood.
-
I appreciate that, and I commend that, and I understand it and
-
I respect that. But what I will never understand, that's how he can
-
have compassion on me when I was at my worst, knowing what my son
-
brought to him. And so I have to accept that whether I feel undeserving,
-
you're not the only one that's felt undeserving. The songwriter wrote the lyrics
-
so unworthy of such mercy, for when he was on the cross, I
-
was on his mind. So his compassion compassion fails not every second of the
-
day, every minute of your life. He cares as deeply for you as
-
he did when he prayed for you and gets seventies Garden? Did y'all catch
-
that he made attention every second of your life? He loves you as much
-
as he did when he prayed and get seventies Garden? Until his sweat became
-
as great drops of blood? Do you know? He prayed specifically? And
-
John the Beloved recorded at John seventeen and nine. He prays specific typically for
-
the followers that would come after him, He said, Father, right now,
-
and he's he agonized, as blood drops come out of his body.
-
He said, I pray for them. I pray not for the world,
-
but for them which thou hast given me. I'm praying for them because they
-
are thine. The truth is he cares immeasurably and equally for all people.
-
Immeasurably and equally for all people, no matter how much we feel or falter,
-
He loves us. He cares for us. He knows exactly what you're
-
dealing with tonight. He knows exactly how angry I would get because somebody disrespect
-
to my preacher. He knows exactly how I would lay awake at night so
-
upset because somebody would speak against my pastor. You can't let that inner voice
-
preach to you so hard that it destroys you. If I allowed that,
-
because of how sensitive my conscience is, I would never be able to preach
-
again, because it's very difficult to live. I'm not talking about doing something
-
dumb like suicide, but it's very difficult when you have a sensitive conscience to
-
realize you observed and noticed that that person refused correction, didn't accept it,
-
and they're not being blind, they see it clearly, but they're making a
-
bad choice and going the other way. The hardest thing, Brother Caleb,
-
is to turn loose and let them go without losing sleep. Now, I
-
hope tonight this this helps. But you could let a good thing become a
-
bad thing. And I believe one of our modern day examples of this as
-
Hitler, and I want to close with this. When I was high school
-
age, my best friend, one of my best friends, his name was
-
Jeremy Jeremy was a kid that I took under my wing. Jeremy had been
-
raised in a broken home and because his dad left his mother when he was
-
a teen and his other siblings I think there was five of them together,
-
he hated his father and he told me many times, he said, I
-
will never be like so and so, and he would stay at my house
-
and he was always talking about how it bothered him, how his father was.
-
It bothered him. It bothers me so bad to see the church people
-
do that. It bothers me so bad to see them not care. That
-
bothers me so good, bothers me. And he was always you could just
-
tell him was just eating him alive. And I would talk to him and
-
I said, Jeremy, I know it don't seem right that a man like
-
that, it makes that kind of money, would leave your mom in a
-
shanny shack and leave five kids to fend for themselves. And he would screaming
-
and saying, I hate him. I will be the best big brother in
-
this world has ever known. And sure enough, by the time he was
-
fifteen, he was under a weldinghood and he was welding and providing a living
-
for his mother, and he would bring his paycheck and hand her his week's
-
righteous I respected him and saluted him. He became even a greater friend of
-
buying. But then sensitive Jeremy, he made some mistakes, and rather than
-
forgiving himself and forgetting about things that others continue to make things hard for him
-
and his family, he got harder and harder. To make a long story
-
short, he became exactly the monster his daddy was. And about two years
-
later, after having been arrested many times, I said, dear, I
-
mean, what about all the nights you sat in my house and said you
-
would never treat your mom and siblings the way your daddy did. I said,
-
do you realize that by your leading and your direction, your mother is
-
now working and got a good job and driving a mass you to Marwell.
-
You picked her up on the despair. You encouraged her for years until she
-
got back on her feet. I said, do you realize your sisters have
-
married respectable men, and at this time he's on meth, He's on every
-
drug he can get. He's stealing from fabricators, stealing from local businesses.
-
For he called me every year and said, I just need to touch pace
-
with my friend. I've just been thinking about you every time I remind him,
-
And I'd say, Jeremy, Jeremy, wait hey, you said you
-
would never be like that, He said, Jeremy, I never intended on
-
be. I guess I just got so mad. So there, brother,
-
just now they're all living normal lives and now he's struggling. But he was
-
the one that I saw one time take the shirt off his back and get
-
it to somebody. Let's stand tonight, brother Tyler. When we were all
-
going outside to play, it's as to how it tells us to be the
-
truth as well, he would be carrying a baby on his hip sixteen seventeen
-
calls. His daddy left his mama that had little ones like this, And
-
while we were all out there playing and having a good time, he was
-
a little daddy. And there's some of you right now. You won't get
-
affected like me or Johnshon will at this, but don't tear me out here
-
now. And i'd watch that skinny linky boy. When we all got painted
-
at the fab shop. We'd go to seven stars. That's bill for somebody,
-
now, ain't it. We go to seventh Star and put our checks
-
on the counter, i'd take mine to spend it. He'd take care of
-
it, dial and go to his mama with a smile and say, Mommy,
-
here's my check. I'll be at work next Monday morning at seven.
-
And he did that for years. And in church and get around the altar,
-
he's having to be daddy. And now they're all live normal lives.
-
Some of them are religious, and he's on skid road, laid up sometimes
-
teeter totter and which lean life and death and you're pastor his old friend will
-
get a burden and say God wears jermynd All because he didn't get past condemnation
-
and respond to conviction. There was something there that God wanted him to sue.
-
Or the next time we feel like it's a trivial thing, sister stit
-
can tell your shout with a great shout, there's nothing trivial about it.
-
The truth is God is in control, and God is orchestrating our lives and
-
hip her. You didn't have to leave the world's most equal dictator. Now
-
there's about six people I have felt while I'm preaching, and I said,
-
at the only start of this message, I didn't want everybody to take it
-
for themselves. But I have felt at least six people be touched as I'm
-
teaching tonight. If you were one of those people and you really want to
-
pray and you want to say God tonight, I want to respond. I
-
see it's Christ versus conscience. And I see the condemnation will driving me farther
-
away from those I love, those that love me Jeremy, and I see
-
the condemnation's creams of my face, how bad and how ugly I am.
-
If you're one of those six, when you come to the author and pray,
-
one of the six, I see there's an inner feeling and a voice
-
inside of me has guided me to do right. And I don't want to
-
overlight it. This whole service is whispering his love for you. His mercies
-
are towards you, His compassions are towards you. Condemnation is screaming your failure.
-
Now I feel like saying this again as the pastor. There's a bunch
-
of people that go in and out of our force. And I shuddered yesterday
-
when I heard him say it doesn't matter how many times against her. An
-
old conan closed, I need simple obedience, and I said, Lord,
-
there's been a many time, me and many others have been in and out
-
of their day and night. And he said, it's all in vain when
-
you did reckon disobeyed me. But here's the thing, brother broke up tonight.
-
We see his compassions fell. Not Is there more besides one young man
-
who were coming to the altar and say, I recognize maybe it's even somebody
-
that's holy ghost field, or somebody's same sanctified. You say, you know,
-
wife, I realize tonight that I better never find myself in that snare
-
anybody else, anybody else. It's true, God's gonna have actions that sometimes
-
shocks us. It's true that sometimes God's holy actions or reactions to our unholy
-
actions. The conscience, my conscience has eaten me alive, my conscience.
-
So now we got about six up here? Is there anymore? I'm won't
-
say it one more time. It's just to stare at. One day you'll
-
see your pastor stand in this full bit and I'll tell you just how deadly
-
actured you were after you obey God in the shall. Had you not obey
-
God that night, got your experience you have tonight, somebody could have been
-
unprepared but it's just to him and tonight somebody is prepared. Is there anybody
-
else? This is a very different service because God's helping you get victory tonight.
-
We've slowed down on purpose. We'll pick right back up Sunday morning.
-
Anybody else, let's all find a place to pray. This kind of demonstrates
-
what I'm talking about. Not everybody's sensitive to what God's trying to do through
-
conviction. This is why Sister Woot says there's not many true conversions anymore.
-
This is why Brother Stit says there's not many true conversions anymore. Because God,
-
this is a sorrow will work is through pentance. For God so loved
-
the world that he gave his only begot. I'm gonna take it personal that
-
he died on Calgary and on that old ragged across he was placed for me.
-
I'm gonna take it personal. The truth is his compassion never ceases.
-
It's impossible for him to care less for you to guide than he did while
-
he hung on the cross. Compassion is more than taking it easy other boy
-
who has nothing to eat. Compassion, Let's taken it easy on yourself.
-
H take it easy on himself, take it easy on himself. Ask him
-
to forgive you from all sin and declanse you from all unrighteousness. He loves
-
you so much, He cares so much for you. He loves you so
-
much. But Preacher, you don't know how bad it sets me. All
-
give it to Jesus. Always give it to Jesus, Oh, Jesus,
-
the Holy ghost. In this place, the Bible said, at some point
-
they would see their conscious as with a hot iron. They would get to
-
the place where things just to bother them anymore. That's what happened. Dedict
-
you, God, don't let me see my conscious. Let me have a
-
pure conscious. Let me ask your Lord to help me with this matter.
-
Help me, Jesus, help me. Jesus help me. Jesus help me.
-
Jesus. Cheese, cheese, cheese. I'm not asking you to confess
-
the man anything. I'm just asking you to be convicted by Christ and be blessed.
