  1. Bibles. Will you turn with me to Saint Mark's Gospel. May I direct

  2. your attention to the second chapter and the fourth verse. If you've brought your

  3. Bible with you tonight or have located one in the back of that peuce,

  4. say amen, how many of you appreciate the Word of God? How about

  5. the King James copy the King James translation. We appreciate the King James.

  6. If you don't have King James Bible in your hand, you'll probably need one

  7. for this message tonight to make any sense. I've come to preach to you

  8. a message that the Lord gave me about five minutes before I walked out of

  9. my office. This has only happened to me a few times over the years

  10. because I'm a pastor. I'm sure if I evangelize it would happen more often.

  11. But because I'm a pastor and I have ample time to study to show

  12. myself approved under God, I try to be a workman. I try,

  13. and I strive my very best to be a workman that is not ashamed,

  14. and I try to write to divide the Word of truth. At any given

  15. time, I have probably six titles, and I feel like the Lord has

  16. given me six golden texts just about at any given time, and six sermons

  17. in development. But tonight the Lord forbade me from going in any of those

  18. directions. So I want us to look at this second chapter and fourth verse

  19. because of the Lord to steer me in this direction. At the last moment,

  20. I do not have any code text. Young preachers, we might be

  21. done in twenty minutes. Praise the Lord. Let's stand for the reading of

  22. our text against Saint Mark's gospel the second chapter and the fourth verse, and

  23. the Bible said, And when they could not come nigh unto him for the

  24. press, they uncovered the roof where he was. And when they had broken

  25. it up, they let down the bed wherein the sea of the posy laid.

  26. Notice the latter part of that verse. They let down the fed wherein

  27. the sick of the polesy lay. About five minutes before I walked out of

  28. my office, I felt like the Holy Goost whispered this sentence into my soul.

  29. When friends let you down, When friends let you down, May we

  30. pray, Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank you

  31. for the opportunity to be in the house of the Lord. I pray that

  32. you would annoy it. This thy servant, said, a God at my

  33. mouth, and help me to say the things that you would have me to

  34. say, nothing more or less, and not the years of this thy people,

  35. that they might hear what the spirit saith unto the churches. This knife,

  36. not of my words, but of your word. Through this preach word,

  37. Let it build faith God for those that need a faith increase. I

  38. pray that these says would go below the shoulders. Let it be in that

  39. heart's old, the spirit in the mind. I pray that we would not

  40. be hearers only, but that we would heed these words. I pray that

  41. we would depart this place joyfully and not sarply. In Jesus's name. In

  42. the church said heymen, as you are being seated again, Looking at the

  43. latter part of the fourth verse of Saint Mark's Gospel in the second chapter,

  44. the Bible said, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the Pauls

  45. he lay, look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, as

  46. anyone ever lets you down. I'm sure the answer to that question is a

  47. resounding yes. Our text is found in a New Testament book of the Bible.

  48. Mark is the author of this book of the Bible. It's not just

  49. an ordinary man that authored this particular book of the Bible. He is very

  50. significant. In fact, this is none other than John Mark. There's summ

  51. in this building. You do not know anything about John Mark. John Mark

  52. was the son of Mary. She was a prominent figure within the New Testament

  53. Church. In its infancy, the power House Church had powerful men and women

  54. of action, men and women that believed in preaching, and they believed in

  55. pray, and they believed in church attendance. While these active people were so

  56. busy doing the things that Christians do and not doing the things that worlings do,

  57. these people had a prayer meeting one time when the apostle Peter had been

  58. in prison. In fact, this woman Mary, the mother of John Mark,

  59. hosted this prayer meeting at her house. Saints began to gather together there,

  60. and because of the spirit of unity and the grace of the Lord and

  61. Savior Jesus Christ, the prayer meeting had great results. The great result of

  62. that prayer meeting was the freedom that Peter fell. At some point the prison

  63. house was open, the shackles and the bonds and the fetters were broken,

  64. brother Jesse, and he was set at liberty. Most of you will remember,

  65. at some point Peter left the prison house, walked through the gates of

  66. the city, and went to this house of this woman Mary, the mother

  67. of john Mark. While he stood out the door, on the outside of

  68. the door, and as he began to knock on the door, he began

  69. to petition to those that were inside. He was telling them that there was

  70. an answer for their prayer outside of the door. Their prayers had been answered,

  71. and the answer to their prayer stood on the other side of the door.

  72. How many of you tonight are thankful that your answer is just on the

  73. other side of the door. That is another sermont for another day and another

  74. hour. But as Peter knocked on that door, a damsel named Rooda,

  75. she came to that door, and she heard the voice of Peter. Actress

  76. was mistakenly thinking that it was a ghost, and she realized, this is

  77. the answer to our prayer. And so you realized that this man john Mark

  78. had been blessed in the fact that he had a god fearing mother. Not

  79. only did she believe in Jehovah or in the Lord God Almighty, but she

  80. believed in Jesus, asked the Messiah, and had embraced him as her personal

  81. Lord and Savior. At some point, this man John Mark, probably because

  82. of his mother's influence in the life of Peter and the other great Preacher of

  83. Paul, John Mark, was permitted to go on a missionary journey with the

  84. great Apostle Paul. While they're on that missionary trip, at some point,

  85. Paul's partner, Barnabas, began to speak concerning this young preacher. And while

  86. he was speaking concerning this young preacher, Apostle Paul disagreed with what was being

  87. said. And the Bible put it this way. There was no small deest.

  88. I think they both were right. I have studied that particular passage of

  89. the scriptures over the years. I've looked at that narrative, and I've tried

  90. to figure out who was right and who was wrong, and how did such

  91. a friendship get strained that the Apostle Paul and his cohort, the beloved Parnabus,

  92. the son of Consolation, that one that took the proceeds of the sounds

  93. of all of his possessions and lead them at the apostles feet, How could

  94. that man come to such an extreme disagreement with a great Apostle Paul that in

  95. the middle of a mission trip they would several times where the Bible said that

  96. because Paul did not feel that John Mark was dependable and trustworthy, Apostle Paul

  97. felt the Apostle Paul felt life John Mark had let them down at a critical

  98. moment in their ministry, and undoubtedly he had. He should have stuck it

  99. out. He went home, and so John Mark again, probably because of

  100. the influence that his mother had with the likes of Peter. I mean,

  101. who wouldn't want to bless a woman that was willing to host a prayer meeting

  102. that brought about your freedom? Who would feel like you owe somebody a favor?

  103. And so again John Mark decides I'd like to tag along with the Apostle

  104. Paul and Barnabas, and Paul said, no, I just cannot do it,

  105. and so they went their separate ways. Now I'm preaching tonight a sermon

  106. that the Holy Ghost titled when Friends Let You Down. There is no doubt

  107. that the Apostle Paul felt like John Mark had let them down at a critical

  108. time in their life. I remember early on in my ministry. As we

  109. began to go under severe persecution for preaching the truth and standing for the truth,

  110. persecution come down upon me my family, beautiful church family, and I

  111. quickly learned who was forest really. It seemed like a lot of people said

  112. they were forest, but we found out where a going got tough, they

  113. were not really forest. The Bible said that a brother is born to their

  114. adversity, and I found out who my real friends really were. I looked

  115. on my left and there was Irish Wooton and her husband, Jean Wooton.

  116. I looked a little further and there was Jackie Walker, and there was Johnny

  117. Platte and Bobby platter and a few others that I realized her. They were

  118. very appreciative for the mission that God has sent me to fulfill, and they

  119. had my back no matter what happened. Seemingly the church Itselfah was busting apart

  120. at the seams because people did not want truth, righteousness, and holiness.

  121. I could tell these real friends refused to let me down. There is nothing

  122. more unnerving for a pastor or a young preacher, or a young pastor or

  123. a senior pastor that to feel that people aren't leaving them. We can tell

  124. that despite rang true in the mind of the apostle Paul, when he recited

  125. no doubt repeatedly, team must have forsaken me, having robbed this present world.

  126. I'm sure that he said that as tears flote down his face, as

  127. his hands shrembled. There's no doubt he was wondering, will Timothy do it?

  128. We'll tired us do it? I mean, when one friend writs it

  129. down because of betrayal, it's easy to get paranoying. It's easy to get

  130. suspicious and wonder, we'll they let me down to? That's what Jesus say,

  131. is that earthly god man begin to speak the earthly halp of Jesus.

  132. He asked the question, will you betray me? Also? Will you read

  133. me also? And Peter let me know I'm not gonna let you down for

  134. thou hast the words of her. He turned on live here. What a

  135. horrible feeling is when somebody disappoint this accounts us and lets this down or tell

  136. us somebody in this ning tonight, sometimes we feel like her, we have

  137. been let down. I want to preach this message, the only girl said,

  138. tired them when friends, lets you down, it's probably not gonna go

  139. the way that you think her it's gonna go. I got to looking at

  140. this narrative, not a congregation with singing here in the second chapter of Saint

  141. Matthew's Marks Cospeland, and I realize that Jesus was wildly popular. You'll see

  142. there in the first chapter that around the thirty fourth or thirty seven Verson the

  143. Bible said that he preached in their Synagogsion throughout Galileeda, and he cast out

  144. devils. It's true that Jesus said was not letting anybody down. You can

  145. tell that people replied to be involved in his ministry. Brother Rod Kampa,

  146. it seemed like he's person in a way that must preachers would cover it for

  147. their ministry to flourish. I mean, everywhere he's going, he's a preaching.

  148. I think the Holy Guests for bringing that versa a scripture to mine.

  149. Just now, it's the thirty ninth verson of the first chapter of Saint Mark's

  150. Gospel. They said, and he preached in their synagogsa to out all Galilea

  151. and cast out devils. Now, I just noticed something significant about that verse

  152. that you will see in the first few verses of the second chapter, you

  153. will notice that the prince of preachers, Jesus felt him it was imparted to

  154. preach. How many preachers today do not feel like her. It's imported to

  155. preach. They come to church and they give us three or four illustrations and

  156. if we're lucky, we get five, and we get a ten to twenty

  157. minutes sermoneta that has no depth to a substance, and we read the church

  158. after that. We have been there, our relperens that were lost, had

  159. been there, and we think things that we do not feel the same.

  160. And we say that preacher and that minister and that church family let me down.

  161. I pact such high hurts, I pod such antssibasive. I thought about

  162. this from myself of with my prodigal's son, her daughter would tell at church

  163. with me. I thought that they would pray. But there's their suspendence in

  164. that preaching. There was no absence of annoting. There was no spirit in

  165. the house. I'm telling you that is a reason to feel let down.

  166. I'll pray that the Bethel holding this church would never talk to that place there,

  167. would not to our community died there. We not to ill considers down

  168. going put another down, that's low, I says, I've got to sing

  169. it and teach him and Russia and preaching. You don't have to worry about

  170. anybody being let down. I'm not in the business of letting people down.

  171. They're made alive in a business or turning people in. I want you to

  172. know, I feel like people how to come into their church house and be

  173. lifted up by their brother and by their sister. We see that Jesus was

  174. busy preaching. If you'll notice also in those first few verses in this second

  175. chapter of Saint Matthew's Gosper you will notice that he was performing miracles. But

  176. what I saw, Brother Jeremiah, before he performed the miracles, he was

  177. preaching. I try to this down just before I walked out of my office.

  178. Three points. That's see, when they just come down from the glowing

  179. world. And I mean they just got in my soul. And I've got

  180. a little tiny sheet of paper here, and that's all the notes that I've

  181. got on and ere these three points that I feel like the Holy Girl sent

  182. me out of my office. Wheel I will not try to read them again.

  183. But you hold on to this mental outline. Point number one, his

  184. presence was a magnet, and point number two he preached a message, and

  185. point number three he performed the miracles. Now about Jesus and his Prayersen's being

  186. a magnet. You will notice in those first few verses of Saint Matthew's Gust

  187. of the second Chapter that the Bible said he it was noised that Jesus was

  188. in the house. How many of you are thankful service after service we could

  189. come into the biding and acknowledge the presence of the Lord. And then after

  190. those services we can test the boy without reservation, without a doubt. I'm

  191. one hundred percent sure Jesus was in the house. All the magnetism of the

  192. minister Jesus, all the magnetism of his ministry, we can see these people

  193. are coming to him like her a sick capt to hot break. You can

  194. see they're trouve to Jesus. The Bible said, no man coming to the

  195. Father unless the spirit draw him. We cannot be mean spirited and hard hearted

  196. people that expect a church to be a magnetars for the lost her. I'm

  197. telling you this magnetism with a love of Croust. This agnotism with a grace,

  198. the mercy, and a piece of crost all the magnetism of this personality,

  199. all the magnetism for this person I'll want you to know, if you'll

  200. pray these things, thrill and leave it in God's handswer God will draw him.

  201. No man coming to the Father, that's the spirit drawing. I realize

  202. that I'm preaching after so many things have happened tonight. I realize that we've

  203. already been bressed. As the musicians played, and as the singers say,

  204. and the way the Holy Ghost moved. I'm all ways of armed and concerned,

  205. though when the church gets used to not having preaching. I mean,

  206. according to that first chapter and that Pretty Night verse, we see that Jesus

  207. preached. I love for somebody to get annoyed and for them to sing the

  208. song. But if Jesus is really in the house, there's gonna be somebody

  209. preaching. Let the say up the norder the God. I want you to

  210. know. They will never be the lyrical a song that will move anybody.

  211. The way the Word of God remove you. They will never be. But

  212. it's trimal the way the word God. We'll move with pop I want you

  213. to know what moved that myself? Sir, that was mysterious. Sir,

  214. what's this? Sir? Jesus was there, I said, Jesus, list

  215. there. We don't need a song book. We don't need a son and

  216. book. I'm telling you all you need is the Holy ghost and the water.

  217. Come call preach. Tell me, preacher, what do I preach?

  218. Paul preach the water? What mean this? The that Caesar all I says

  219. that if he's in the house, there will be preaching. We sing that

  220. song the old camp meeting days. Why did they say that there can't meet

  221. days. I like their old time preaching, praying, singing that show.

  222. I like the old time preaching up God's word. I steal believe in preaching.

  223. I still believe in the effectiveness of preaching. I still believe in the

  224. effectiveness of hot fire, refermament, passionate prayer. But I also still believe

  225. in annointed preaching, drawing the lost her and changing their rs of her lost.

  226. You see, these people knew that when Jesus was in the house.

  227. I don't know how big the house was, but they knew her there would

  228. be a houseful of criticizers and also people that were sincere. I don't know

  229. how many sincere people that we've got here a night, or how many critics

  230. are listening online. It does not matter to me. There will always be

  231. a critical and there's always hate that tain't pop for those that are in the

  232. house that are hearing the preacher. Preacher, we used to send a saw

  233. tain't God for a preacher who taught me about jeez? I said, I

  234. be a parent. I set that t Where was that preacher go through Galilee

  235. hold top Sif preachers not an evangelist just preaching a sermon, Yes, that

  236. was sermon specific for fifty churches, but that fifty first church it might not

  237. have been for them, neither for the seventy fifth or for the hundreds.

  238. Every preacher, every sermon I preach as a pastor as brand new because I

  239. don't have the ability if you would the availability, then evangelist has to go

  240. from point A to point B preaching the same message. And I do find

  241. it as scriptural too, if you'll listen to me, it's scriptural to go

  242. from synagogue to Seneca, from church to church. And I don't know what

  243. Jesus preached. I know he wasn't preaching the testimonies are the saints that were

  244. finding a new Testament. I don't know exactly well he was preaching. He

  245. probably wasn't really preaching about himself, but he was preaching the word. He

  246. was preaching things that people don't want to hear anything about today. He was

  247. preaching on commitment to gathering together. He was preaching on devotion of one God.

  248. He was preaching on us had another God's before us our sure if he

  249. took a text to her, he done walked us right on down the ten

  250. commitments and all of the other commitments that so many people have repeated her over

  251. and over again the others. But Jesus did not let them down her.

  252. He did not send them home without substinence, without something. He taught us

  253. in a sermon on the mountain. All of this wonderful things Son of them

  254. to be attitudes. And he talked about how people are dressed, He talked

  255. about how people are cluster. There was so much for him to say.

  256. I said, there was so much for him to say. Some people wanted

  257. to hear, some people didn't. But at this time his accotism was unmistakable.

  258. There are what people being trold to his ministry. I don't know why

  259. they came only for the lows and offices, or for the miracles, or

  260. to hear his word. Whatever their moons were, he still preach to them.

  261. We don't need to put a starbutcher in the foyer of the church.

  262. We can go there after church. We don't need a lot show, we

  263. don't need a snow screen. The tin and Jesus Christ and preaching her on

  264. Ald is enough. You see, all these gospel writers, they had one

  265. mine in one goal where they put pen the parchment. Their purpose and their

  266. goal was the point man that Jesus. They wanted to tell a story.

  267. They want to speak of this ministry. They want to speak of His ministry.

  268. And that's the way every sermon should be. At some point, if

  269. it's in the beginning, in the middle, or in the end, the

  270. emphasis should be on Jesus. And that's what we find out here in this

  271. narrative. Something that really happened. Jesus is in the house. I don't

  272. know in the missions of this structure, but I do know a little bit

  273. about houses from that day and Arabaica years ago. We never a studying some

  274. of the architectural design that was in the lantern during this time period. And

  275. I know that the houses were not exactly big, but sister, would I

  276. know they were big enough to host Jesus and some people. I guarantee you

  277. not only that was not our school, the yard was fool. I'm telling

  278. somebody in this beauty tonight. The church did not let you down. The

  279. preacher has not lets you down. Your preas have not let you down.

  280. We're doing everything we can to get to the Jesus. If we got lost

  281. her, we're gonna try to test the Father who just then. But that's

  282. what I'm dealing with. I told you I'm coming out from a different ankle.

  283. We're not trying to let you Dona, We're trying to pick you up.

  284. Every time a preacher takes a text and the Holy g gives him a

  285. title and the gold a text, he's not trying to let you down,

  286. no matter how sorry you're for you for yourself, no matter how fat your

  287. toes are. That's what he stepped over him. He's not trying to let

  288. you an her. He's trying to pick you up. Jesus was an of

  289. Republicans and the sinners. This friend was not trying to disappoint anybody, those

  290. that were unable to get to him. He wasn't deliberately trying to keep them

  291. shut out. Those that were on the front pew. There were criticizers,

  292. the scribs, the Pharisees, the Sadducees that were taking notes, trying to

  293. find a slip of the tongue, trying to find something that he said that

  294. was wrong. I don't know who else listening online, but I ain't got

  295. but just a small little slipper of paper in front of me, and I

  296. got a few notes on it with three points and a text, and I

  297. were running with it and preaching what God has got on me to preach.

  298. And I hope I haven't had a slip of the tongue or said anything wrong.

  299. I don't feel luck I have, but I do know that the mythel

  300. holding this church has spelt the presence of God in the house, and not

  301. just why God is building this church because of the magnetism Jesus. Let's not

  302. because of a personality on a charisma, a charity, a charity how them.

  303. Let's not because we got a Starbucks and are talking there. What's in

  304. the Restamile No it's because on a magnetism, on a spill, it's because

  305. of his center states it's all about Jesus. I said, it's all about

  306. to Jesus in the house. He preached a message. He preached a message.

  307. He had points. There was a point to it, not the points

  308. like we're familiar with in most modern gods and preachers messages. But he was

  309. very appointed, and he was very particular. He chose his words wisely.

  310. Sometimes with those points he provoked, and sometimes with those points he pampered.

  311. If you would. There was never a time that Jesus gave him sugar cookies

  312. when they needed man. Never a time, Brother Nathaniel, that he laced

  313. on his sugar in order to make somebody think more of himself. The day

  314. we had to have pancake breakfasts here to Holy Crown is the day that we

  315. have lost to the anorting of God and the person Jesus Christ of being present.

  316. But I do want to move on to this third point. He did

  317. perform miracles, and I believe that he's the same yesterday, today and forever.

  318. I believe the brother Philip got that good reporter from the doctor because Jesus

  319. is performing miracle that I'm not gonna stop praying and praying is working. I'm

  320. gonna pray now more that I never pray before. For brother Philip. I

  321. wants in another This church is no different than any other church. But Jesus

  322. is out. The Word of God is cooling, porka and miracle for going

  323. part do you go? Healing was included that if you told me salvation,

  324. yes, sir, but also he I want you to know you don't have

  325. to die I read or failure. Man. You don't have to die of

  326. bristless except you don't have to die of cats. You don't have to die.

  327. And I'll tell us I'll don't. We're gonna die, stuthing he but

  328. we might as well pray, put out these things and calls her. I'll

  329. tect this proof positive. That won't Jesus. He's in the house, so

  330. I can expect her. He impossible. He Jesus, he's in the household.

  331. I expect nothing more than a miraclap, nothing alsome than a mirrow clad

  332. amen who performed miracles. Praise the Lord. I'm doing this for you,

  333. Jesus would say, Father, I'm praying for them. He wasn't trying to

  334. let anybody down. Judas felt like he let them down. Thank you,

  335. hold of God. Judas expected the Lord to rule over this world as a

  336. one world king. Judas expected Jesus to go to the throne. Jesus planned

  337. to at a later date that would happen just exactly as Judas supposed it to

  338. be. So. But you know what, Judas prematurely he came to the

  339. conclusion because things are not happening on my timeline, where my schedule planning the

  340. way I plan for it to be. I'm just gonna give up, o

  341. Jesus, I'm gonna give up on my calling. I'm gonna give up on

  342. God's plan. Oh yes, God had a plan for Judas, he certainly

  343. did. But Judas felt like her Jesus let her him down. I want

  344. to get to my text here. That fourth verse spoken of some men while

  345. Jesus was preaching and just before it began to perform the miracles, there were

  346. four men. I don't know the names of these men, but I know

  347. that they knew Jesus was preaching and Jesus was performing miracles, and whether their

  348. friend woman In or Nacha, they were gonna get him. There They may

  349. have let this friend down by'm not attending a pity party. They may have

  350. let this friend down by not taking them to the position. He could have

  351. went the roots. Maybe he could have went somewhere else. And I'm sure

  352. I still have question, what are you doing? Why are you taking me

  353. to that house? It's not a doctor's office. The position does not live

  354. there. I'm telling you, whatever Jesus is, the word of cod will

  355. be felt, and the word itself will heal. I still believe that their

  356. greatest miracles are performed by the preacher. A preacher. Why don't right the

  357. harbor headn repot. Well, somebody punches me, you know, Oh it

  358. says pray Ah. I mean it's you, a preacher, the uncle reading

  359. a counsel. Well, he mean, I don't know how many times I've

  360. been here while preaching, just simply preaching. Oh he is, ay man,

  361. brother Philip, for you in the house, Brother Philip, Hey man,

  362. I'm telling you, Brother Philip has been in the thick of it.

  363. Sister Cheryl has been in the thick of it. Some of y'all have been

  364. sick and suffering. And I thought about these friends. They got tired of

  365. seeing their friends sick, and they got tired of her friends suffering, and

  366. they went and said, you know what, you can't help yourself. And

  367. apparently nobody else here, including family, is gonna do something about it.

  368. Did the text say family came forward, I'm taking ampliositve friends or closer clan,

  369. says somebody that was sorry from what we was going through. Somebody buried

  370. their brother's burdens and renally went and took care, picked him up. This

  371. paralyzed man plumping down on a car and made the track to Jesus. That's

  372. what we're trying to do for those that are sick of suffering, and the

  373. prodigal sons and daughters. We're trying to get them to Jesus. I want

  374. you to know we can say to them, I'm doing this for you.

  375. I'm not doing this for myself. I'm not letting you down. I know

  376. I'm disappointing you that I'm not taking you to the er today. I know

  377. I'm disappointing you that I'm not taking you to a natural cure and cancer.

  378. I'm I'm disappointing you center print that I'm not gonna sit in the box stool

  379. with you. I know I'm disappointed you that I want part of the cause

  380. hall Hocking, but I want you to know I'll take us somewhere where you

  381. could get help. I said, I'll take us some more where I could

  382. be disappointed with an end result. I'll take us somewhere we will get that

  383. helper we really need. We won't be able to find your buying a black

  384. here, we won't be able to get your brand chip and having them planet

  385. here. We won't be able to give you an antidote here. We won't

  386. be able to give you the witch doctor's cocktail here. We won't be able

  387. to put any sparkling powder on your here. But what we can do is

  388. take you to the right place and put you in the presence of the right

  389. person. All come on, And I thought that man probably said, what's

  390. your doing? There's no use in this? Do you know how long I

  391. have had this? And probably one prince said, trust me, he can

  392. help you, And then another one said, yeah, I believe he can,

  393. And another one said, yeah, I believe you can. And we

  394. need him to help us here tonight. We need him to help us serve

  395. us after service. You see, these men believe that Jesus would offer them

  396. assistance when this situation. They also believe that Jesus was the answer for this

  397. situation. A lot of times people get disappointed when you offer them assistance and

  398. an answer for their marital problems, for their work issues, for their health

  399. issues. You say, come to them with me the chance and start with

  400. some kind of remedy for their relody, and they get so disappointed. No,

  401. you want come to life with me. No you want take this subodo

  402. beach with me. No you want to do this, sir. When I'm

  403. telling you, when we need assistance and when we need an answer, the

  404. best thing for us to do is not train their party, even if it's

  405. a any party. Jesus, I said, I was bringing up babies.

  406. They Jesus that spends the permanent members. Let's bring them to Jesus. In

  407. the middle of this message, somewhere Jesus heard a shaking going on. There's

  408. a shaking going on. And when I studied the architectural design of them houses

  409. so many years ago, I remember seeing in that Bible dictionary that they had

  410. stairs going up the side of the house, and I remember seeing the roof

  411. double as a balcony of swords, and still to this day, that's the

  412. way it is in some of them Third world countries, Brother Nathaniel. I

  413. mean, it seems that they spent as much time on their roof as they

  414. do inside the house. And there's the various reasons for that. I'm telling

  415. you. Them climbing up on the housetop, there was nothing stranger significant about

  416. that. I'm sure whenever that man saw them haulding them hauling him up them

  417. steps, they thought, what he thought, what are you guys doing?

  418. They ain't nothing up there for me. In fact, the man is doing

  419. the preaching, and everybody's here to see. It's somewhere under the tiles.

  420. Seems like one of the gospel writers said they pulled back the tiles at some

  421. point, Brother Jeremiah, you think with me now, as that man don't

  422. what in the world are these friends of mine doing? Why are bringing it

  423. to a place like this, and why interrupt the service? Now. I've

  424. had some strange interruptions as a pastor over the years. There's been some kids

  425. wall out because Mama teached them while Mama was under conviction. We've had some

  426. strangers run in and out of the church. We've had some people that have

  427. been released from jail coming to the church, popping a few and go to

  428. sleep. Brother fill up with me preaching and people shouting and hollering. I

  429. guess there was the only place they could find some peace of tranquility and get

  430. some rest. I've seen some strange interruption, sister Whotingham. But as the

  431. Prince of Preachers was preaching now, I couldn't imagine listening to Jesus and being

  432. distracted. I mean, at twelve years of age, he had the Pharisees

  433. describes and the Saducees mesmerized as they listen to counsel are preaching. They just

  434. said, how does this kid know? All of these things were? Imagine

  435. with me Now he's thirty years old. Everybody's tuned in. His critics are

  436. trying to find fault. And suddenly there's a rustling going on in the tals.

  437. Y'all know we got talk seeing her. Imagine suddenly somebody saying, is

  438. that a lizard? That is that one of the Burmese pots? Aren'ts has

  439. had a cooon's had apostle? What's going hold up there? And sudden that

  440. Jesus is interrupted. I'm telling you by something that nobody anticipated her and nobody

  441. expected her and Foig men stuck their heads down through that and they looked and

  442. said, yeah, we guessed it right. He's right there. They are

  443. telling you you are right. That's how that Churchill that isn't such good shaper

  444. that when they do come, they could be the presidents of God. You

  445. are boys and girls to their surn and that is specifically and they could say,

  446. yes, pastor, we're right, blessing for me. Yes, sir,

  447. I brought the spear of God. Yes, I preta the draw and

  448. others present. So with CIB step by step each and every day service after

  449. service, we try to get up to the ceiling. We try to get

  450. it up high. Brother Jarmah, little sister Howld and brother Howell. We

  451. know we got six kids and now that family of aid has turned into a

  452. family of twenty four. They tell me, by the end of twenty twenty

  453. four, we'll have fourteen grand it's as including Jephtha how many not just say

  454. fourteen grandkids by the end of twenty twenty four, Sister how I was only

  455. forty seven and forty eight years of age. Brother Jeremiah, you talking about

  456. packed that's how my living room was. Well, we had twenty four people

  457. in it the other day, and I've got a pretty good sized living room

  458. and all of them presents, everybody buying, everybody presents. I'm telling you

  459. the house was filled. Now here's people sweating their shoulder to shoulder. There

  460. was no such thing as right God left God Brew Os five and none of

  461. that junk back then. And I'm telling you, brother Samuel, that's just

  462. probably slightly agitated at this point that somebody would be interrupting the teacher as he

  463. teaches. But it's miracle time. I said, it's miracle time. And

  464. that's what the Holy Ghost is welcome to do here. Any time a preacher

  465. is preaching, any time a teacher is teaching, or the saying or as

  466. saying, I know it's singing. If the singer is singing, and the

  467. Holy Ghost is welcome. The highjackal this service. And there can be a

  468. divide interruption at any rollment. Somebody with it's my friend or her family member.

  469. They can obey gard as long as that get me her in the presence

  470. of Jesus. I said, service after service, day after day, with

  471. timeless steps, and we got to try somebody bombs and Garta, It'll be

  472. working to dry them to the mountain topsa I said, it'd be working to

  473. try to the top of not Veriah. It'll be working to dry girl Creator

  474. and your family, gimber her to the root topper. If that's what you

  475. got to do. I remember when the Howards her struggling. I'd say it's

  476. time to go to church. I said, it's time to go to Tucha.

  477. You might not real life, how glad you need to be there.

  478. You might not I paralyze your long, but you need to be there.

  479. I said, we need to be there. We need to be there with

  480. the Holy girls his movement. So these men begin to let their friend down.

  481. That's the kind of letdown I want. If you're gonna let me down,

  482. do it in the presence of the Lord. If you're gonna let me

  483. down, be speaking in tongues when you do it. I'm sure that whenever

  484. Abraham let Isaac down on that altar, he was in the spirit. I'm

  485. not saying he's speaking in tongues, but I'm telling you he was in the

  486. very preasence o the Lord. In that ram that was in this thicket begin

  487. to shake and there was a substitution for Isaac. I'm telling your church,

  488. it doesn't matter how down and out somebody gets, they get down and out.

  489. And I'm talking about in the bully Grubbs sometimes just the wood, and

  490. David is familiar with that. The people felt like he had let them down

  491. and sit back, had been burned with fire, everybody saying, look count

  492. day, even let us down. Look cowt, they even failed us.

  493. And brother Jesse, they were gonna stole that man they loved so much.

  494. It's not a letdown for your parents to sit you down and tell you how

  495. things gonna be. This shouldn't be a letdown for the pastor to tell you

  496. how you could improve and do better, because you do need to improve in

  497. your situation. You do need improvement, and that's what these men knew.

  498. I can't take you to the doctor, but I can take you to Jesus,

  499. brother Philip. I may not be able to take you in the operating

  500. room and perform a surgery on you, simply because I didn't choose to go

  501. that route was goold sister Shriff. I may not be able to take you

  502. into an operating room and take one kid out of somebody else in you.

  503. But I know a man that can heal y'all in a moment, and every

  504. other person in this building in a moment, and anybody else that God brings

  505. in, not that a parent brings in by deception or manipulation. Now us

  506. trying to force the hand of God to move, But I'm talking about when

  507. that old fashioned conviction comes in, you won't be able to keep him out.

  508. When the spirit of God helps him return to their senses, they'll say,

  509. wait a minute, my dad ain't in the hot business. My dad

  510. ain't in the hot business. My mama ain't one of these women of his

  511. repute. Are feel the preacher in this place? His parents let him now?

  512. But dad and mom did not let him now. And he said,

  513. I'm gonna go back to the father's house where there's bread enough to spare.

  514. There is no need at all whatsoever for need to Paris with hunger. And

  515. I'm telling them, moms and dads, just go ahead and drag them corseats

  516. into the house of Carder, Go and talking ladies into the house of Carder,

  517. troll them in the one of the country, call come on the corner,

  518. parteaser fuck. Put them rot in the passive truck cover Lord knock them

  519. car seats down by the long time and let teens has helped them. How

  520. many times did this paralytic man say, just stop, really, it's not

  521. worth it. Just stop, really, I don't need this. Just stop.

  522. I'm gonna be disappointed. I've tried this, I've tried that. Neither

  523. worked. I've been carried here and I've been carried there. Nothing has worked.

  524. I have talked to people before about things developed and fostered friendship with the

  525. objective of getting them to church. And finally, when the situation was conducive

  526. for an invitation, I said, why don't you go to church? And

  527. they have literally said if you either wanted to go fishing, I don't went

  528. fishing. If you were to go shopping, I went shopping with you.

  529. You're a cool god. Love to hang out with you. If you wanted

  530. to go to Bass Road, we go hang out at Basket Brow. If

  531. you want to go have a stake in Lake Longmoorn, we can do it.

  532. But don't preach Tom, don't talk to me, just be my friend.

  533. And when I say no, my plan was for us to be together

  534. in church. Suddenly I let them down as we stand to be dismissed tonight

  535. after we prayed. We never know what's going to happen in a service.

  536. Tonight can be the night that you get healed. I remember my senior year

  537. in high school. I can't remember exactly the reason for the assembly, but

  538. something along these lines were stated, we need certain members of the junior and

  539. senior class, and I believe they called our names over the public address system.

  540. They said, we need you to go to room numbers so and so.

  541. I noticed that when we got there, there might have been twenty of

  542. us in that room out of how many attended at Mulboro High School. While

  543. we were in there, our class president began to talk to us about graduation

  544. and some of the extracurricular activities and some of the other things that we would

  545. be doing, including from and as we were in there, the conversation went

  546. the wrong way and those who smoked pot and used drugs begin to talk to

  547. about what they would be doing at grad night, what they would be doing

  548. at prom, what they would be doing after they graduated, and it was

  549. all geared towards partying and being loud. And I have been saved too long.

  550. I remember the Holy Ghost was grieved within me. And I had been

  551. really close with all of those people for a long time. They all loved

  552. mcderley. And as they talked about drugging and fornicate and all this stuff,

  553. I stood up. As very Jesse comes to the pen, I'll finish the

  554. store. I stood up. And it was unlike me to challenge anyone.

  555. It was unlike me to have conflict. It was unlike me to send people

  556. straight and with both hands and proast pockets, I said, Hey, there's

  557. a bunch of you that help your youth pastor of church. I know you

  558. do down there at the Baptist Church, at the Meto's Church, at the

  559. Lutheran Church Presbytent Church. Apparently those of us that are in this room were

  560. people of influence, and they want us to steer in our class and the

  561. and they've asked us to kind of set the atmosphere in the stage for what

  562. the rest of the class is gonna do, because they're gonna follow our lead.

  563. And I stood up and said, why don't we all just be Christians?

  564. Why don't we just freach the message of Jesus. Why don't we just

  565. be a good example of our fears and not lead them into drugs and illicit

  566. sex. And why don't we just be a good example. I saw head

  567. after head fall, chins hit and chest, and then I saw some just

  568. glare at me would be de wight looking eyes and Brother Jonathan. Immediately I

  569. felt betrayal. I felt they hated me. Something was in them that I

  570. did not anticipate to be there. Something was in them that I did not

  571. expect. I realized they didn't have the same plans that I had. Their

  572. ways and their thoughts or not. Akin to Bid and Brother Roquep, I

  573. realized I had poked the bear, I had opened the hornage to this.

  574. It was a good thing. I'd be leaving campus in a couple of weeks,

  575. Brother Jeremiah. For years I thought about how I let them down,

  576. how I disappointed them, how I broke their heart, how I wrocked their

  577. boat, how I interrupted their party. Finally, about ten years later,

  578. I hired one of the young men that had been in there that day,

  579. and he ended up working for me, and I asked him when the time

  580. was right, I said, let me tell you something that has haunted me

  581. and bothered me for years. I said, I was always a good reputation

  582. with u all. We were leaders at the school. We were highly respected.

  583. We ran for calendar couple, we all ran for homecoming King and queen.

  584. We just were the people that influenced our class. And I thought we

  585. were all headed in the right direction. I didn't think glorified party and it

  586. getting drunk. I said, why did that go that night? I said,

  587. Man, I feel terrible about the way I hurt you all. I

  588. said, I didn't have that intention. It wasn't my plan to make you

  589. all feel bad, I said, but I've been haunted by this for years.

  590. I wanted to ask y'all, why did y'all turn on me? Why

  591. did y'all hate me so much? They called me Jay back then, he

  592. said, Jay, let me tell you something. He said. It wasn't

  593. that you disappointed us. It wasn't that we thought you hated us. It

  594. wasn't that we thought you were preaching to us. He said, Man,

  595. we talked about it later after you walked out. He said, Well,

  596. y'all felt convicted. He said, we felt about a quarter inch tall.

  597. He said, we were ashamed of ourselves. We have friends. Let you

  598. down, y'all picture me as the cot descended through that space where that tile

  599. was, and that friend came down. He's let down in the Treasures of

  600. Jesus. And that's, young man, how you feel. You're making it

  601. out as though you're being let down, But we're doing it for your good.

  602. You don't need to be on a rocket soaring into the sky. You

  603. don't need to be on Tide's rocket ship going into high places. We're trying

  604. to tenderly let you down because if we could just get you on your knees

  605. and get you in the Treasures of Jesus. What his friend's thought was his

  606. issue wasn't even his real issue. They thought, man, above all things,

  607. he needs a healing, he needs to be back up on his feet.

  608. But Jesus showed everybody in the house what the greatest issue was, and

  609. that's what pastor has been trying to say. I'm trying to let you down.

  610. Before the preasents of Gediesus, Jesus said, your real issue is,

  611. boy, you need to be saved. And that's when people in the building

  612. they begin to say, who can forgive sins? But God only who does

  613. Jesus think he is to be telling this man after he addresses him by name,

  614. Son, your sins are forgiven. Son. Sometimes when the preacher gets

  615. on your toes, he steps and flats of board. He's letting you down

  616. for your good. When Joseph was let down into that pit his friends,

  617. if you will let him down and Brother Samuel, years later, Joseph said,

  618. don't worry about it. You didn't let me down. You hurt me,

  619. you crushed me. We don't worry about it. I realize now that

  620. what you meant for evil was meant for my good. These friends didn't mean

  621. evil for their friends. But since the how, there's been times that you

  622. and I have brought our kids to church thinking they needed this, They needed

  623. that. Little do we know Jesus want to work on their hearts. Move

  624. to Dad, You've been praying for your children about issues, and you're convinced

  625. that's the worst issue, that's the greatest need. But in Jesus, he

  626. just reaches around and just really touches them right when they need to be touched.

  627. Brother Jeremiah, Sometimes we think the issue is our lower back needs to

  628. be healed, but Jesus knows the real issues our for it needs to be

  629. touched. I have preached tonight without any notes, with three points in a

  630. scripture, and there's somebody in this building asking this question right now? What

  631. good will this do? What good will? Preach? And do? What

  632. good will church? And do? What good will a pastor do? Me?

  633. Will I never be benefited? You have to believe that in a moment,

  634. the heavens will be open for you. In a moment miracles will happen.

  635. Brother Philip, Let's bow our heads tonight, and let's pray if you're

  636. that young person tonight that i'm preaching to raise your hand one two, three

  637. four. Last week I preached on hope for the underdog. This week I'm

  638. preaching to you you found things to be a disappointment that actually are your greatest

  639. blessings, Brother Samuel. What was interesting as I read through them few verses

  640. in a moment five minutes before I walked out of my office, I noticed

  641. this man was not even praying for himself. He wasn't even putting a request

  642. and to be brought to Jesus. What you ought to be is thankful right

  643. now that there's even a message going forward, and that there's even a fool

  644. for your soul that in itself should bless you and encourage you. If you

  645. feel like praying, would you just come? Everybody will find a place to

  646. pray. When friends let you down, things are not always as we're supposed

  647. to be. The preacher he let me down. He preached little holdiness.

  648. He preach the word, He preach truth. Who treats righteousness? He offended

  649. me, He hurt me. M Did he really or did he help him?

  650. Did he hurt you or did he help him? Did he bring any

  651. John Mark apparently went to Cyprus what Barnabus Barnabas worked on him, He pulled

  652. for him, He talked him, he instructed him. Later on the Apostle,

  653. Paul said, you know that man that let me down, john Mark?

  654. Bring him to me for he's talk over for the ministry. I believe

  655. in you. Jesus believes in you. Your friends believe in you. We're

  656. trying to get you to Jesus. If somebody take me to where Jesus and

  657. his mom and dad let him down in his press, Take him to Jesus,

  658. take him into her, take him jes h Jesus, Jesus is your

  659. body. Take me where Jesus. Take me to where Jesus says what Jesus

  660. says. Me, boy, it can't be where Cheese. Take me said

  661. where Jesus. Choice tell me their fast me God mes m Hmby take me

  662. where Jesus is, where Jesus sits? You think anybody telling me where Jesus.

  663. God, take me where Jesus is, where Jesus you mean by take

  664. me to where Jesus is? You need anybody take me even where Jesus says.

  665. Where Jesus is, you need anybody take me to well Jeese? Anybody

  666. take me where Jesus where she Jesus. Anybody take me to where cheese.

  667. I heard that he can heal a broken heart, he can put back a

  668. live ton torn apart. You can mean anybody take me Jesus where Jesus says.

  669. Can mean anybody take me to where Jesus. Can mean anybody say me

  670. where Jesus is. Where Jesus said can be? Anybody take me to where

  671. Jesus is. I heard that heat can heal a broken arm, where he

  672. can put back a life that's been torn apart. To take me where he

  673. is? Oh can mean anybody take me to which GESUSI Jesuses. Anybody say

  674. me do wherees see
