Very understand that I want you to go to the book of Genesis with me
-
to night. Yeah, And I'm going to cut loose from everything else and
-
just saved plain this time to make a decision. Yeah. Genesis, chapter
-
twenty eight and verse ten. I've Jacob went out from Beersheba and went to
-
Lord around. They lied upon a certain place and terry there all night.
-
Because the sun was set. They took up the stones of that place and
-
put it for his pillows, and laid down in that place to sleep.
-
He dreamed, and behold a ladders set up on the earth, and the
-
top of it preached to heaven. And behold the angels of God ascending and
-
descending on. And behold the Lord stood above it, and said, I
-
am the Lord, God of Abraham, my father, and the God of
-
Isi. The land where all thout lies THEE will I give it. And
-
to thy seed. Thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth.
-
Thou shalt spread abroad west and to the east, and to the north and
-
to the south, and in the end, and thy seed shall all the
-
families of the earth be blessed. And behold, I am with THEE,
-
and will keep THEE in all places when thou goest and will bring THEE again
-
into this land, where I will not leave THEE until I have done that
-
which I have spoken to the other. And Jacob awake out of his sleep.
-
He said, surely the Lord is in this place, and I knew
-
it not. And he was afraid, and said, how dreadful is this
-
place. This is none other but the House of God, and this is
-
the gate of heaven. I want you to hold that place. And I'm
-
going to go back to Genesis chapter eleven. And the whole earth was of
-
one language and of one speech. They to pass. As they journeyed from
-
the east, they found the plain in the land of China. They dwelt
-
there, and they said, one to another, go to let us make
-
break and burn them thoroughly. And they had breakfast, stone and slime.
-
Had they for more, And they said, go to let us build us
-
a city and a tower whose top may reach unto him. And let us
-
let us a name, lest we be scattered abroad from upon the face of
-
the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the
-
tower which the children of men building. And the Lord said to you,
-
all the people is one, and that all one language. And this they
-
began to do, and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have
-
imagined to do. Go to let us go down. And there confound their
-
language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered
-
them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth, and they left
-
off to be able to see you. Therefore the name of it is all
-
the name of it called Babbel, because the Lord did there confound the languages
-
of all the earth. From thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the
-
face of old. One of the errors sometimes for the how that people have
-
when they read the Old Testament is they want to read it like like a
-
fable or a story of some sort. Red Yard Kipling was stationed in India
-
before World War One, and Rudyard Kipling wrote a book called Just So Stories,
-
and it was those stories like how the wh is there felled and had
-
a long trunk because of tiny rabbit holed it out, things like that.
-
A lot of people read the Old Testament, they well, that's just a
-
story of why the Chinese speak Mandarin, and the Irish speak Gallic, and
-
the Swahils are speaking u in all the languages. But there is the gospel
-
message from Genesis to Revelation. It does not change. The message of Genesis
-
is the same message as the Book of Acts. The message in the Book
-
of Genesis is the same as the docels. Amen. And as I got
-
to reading these today and I really did not know, brother, how what
-
direction this was going to go. Your brother Jesse started singing or an at
-
l and it just the title of this message came to me standing right over
-
there. Amen, I will to preach to not are you trusted in your
-
tower or are you looking for the latter? I mean, are you trusting
-
in your talent? Or are you looking for the latter? Hemen? For
-
we have a picture here of two congregations, one of them very large and
-
one of them very very very small. Amen. The one had an imagination
-
that we're gonna reach Heaven. By what we're doing, We're gonna reach Henlen.
-
We got an imagination that says, this is what it takes to get
-
to heaven, this soul it takes to get to heaven. He men.
-
He met and their imagination had nothing to do with the reality of God.
-
Amen. Amen, a God went down to see what they were doing,
-
and said, I must now confound their lad He met. The other picture
-
we had was of the tiny congregation one man whose soul ladder and the top
-
did not may reach heaven. The top reached heaven, and the angels of
-
the Lord is sitting and decending on it, and the Lord stood above it.
-
He meant, and he said, this is none other but the House
-
of God, and I must breakfast one. I'm finxing to amen, say
-
brother Damn will by saying that we hear it often it doesn't matter where you
-
go, just as long as you go somewhere. He then, it does
-
not matter what church you go to, as long as you just attend church.
-
Hemen. But may I tell you, friend, that is not what
-
the Gostel of the Book of Genesis teaches. Amen. He then, there
-
is a place, saint Man, that does not reach healing, and there
-
is a place that does reach healing. Amen. He then, And the
-
problem is we have a generation that is so hung up on trusting in the
-
Tower that they have forgotten that there is really a rider that does reach all
-
the way there. There is really a prayer that goes all the way there.
-
There is really a worship that goes all the way there. There is
-
dettitation that goes all the way there again. He then in the book of
-
Isaiah, he man asked Israel was falling into ruin. He then the question
-
was asked, well the road camp, where is he that counted the towers?
-
Where is he that trusted in that? And we're looking at a church
-
world that feels like just as long as we've got a building. A few
-
that said, on, as long as we've got a power on our hands,
-
as long as we got a song book, and they basically followed the
-
pattern. We're okay, but I'm okay you we are in the last,
-
last, last day and we must make carnante. Are we going to trust
-
in a tower that does not reach what we are needing to reach? Or
-
are we gonna start looking for that ladder that takes us all the way?
-
Ended up? Great sun up, and I said, I'm a mighty powerful
-
god. You will never get saved. He there trusted in a table.
-
But there is a ladderat in there where the angels of the Lord is said
-
that he said upon and there is salvation there. There is no salvation at
-
the top of the tower that reaches nowhere, Brother Candan, Amen, But
-
that ladder reaches a place where the grace of God is able to do exceeding
-
upon the apoch. That's where they were asked or even pay. There's no
-
sanctification at the top of the tower. That reaches nowhere. There's no honey,
-
got there's on the top of the tower. There leads us nowhere.
-
There's no healing virtue at the top of the tower. There reaches nowhere.
-
Amen. Amen, And they all say going in. It does not matter
-
how you decorate the tower. You can decorate the tower however you want to
-
decorate it. It's still just a town to nowhere. He there. They
-
talked about it a few years ago, Brother Jeremiah, he did, I
-
know, you keep up with events. But they talked about the bridge they
-
were building in Alaska, and they build a bread There was millions and millions
-
and millions of dollars in contracts awarded. He met through political manipulation, and
-
they finally asked the question one day, where's it going. It was just
-
going out into the bearing straight, but it was going nowhere. And they
-
stopped the project with an edifice that they call the bridge that goes nowhere.
-
I want a breach to not on the tower that goes nowhere. It's pretty
-
in a lot of places. They dress it up in the right guards,
-
they dress it up in the rock and pat they put the right names.
-
Ally. Hey, then, but I want to ask you to not in
-
your heart of hearts. Don't you know, friend, that there's a difference
-
in that tower. I'm the ladder that dost reach into heaven and that which
-
God's reach, the fall of God, and that dolls here from heaven.
-
That dos fo message from God. As you help me to not, I
-
wish you would help me to not. And then, and I know I'm
-
from the tamara. I'm coming up against it, amen, because we are
-
in that generation that says, let's forget about the differences. Let's forget over
-
all that purses, all that calls me all the same. It's not all
-
the same. It might dress the same, it might be the same.
-
Bible. If I've seen the Saints songs to the comic denominator, Oh I'm
-
so glad he said that the common denominator is not there. One reaches heaven
-
and the other tells not. Whatever one goes all away with the PROMI and
-
the other goes to the limits on man's imagination. One goes as far as
-
man's imagination will take him. That's imagination says, this is what pleases God.
-
That's imagination says, this is a move of God. That's imagination says,
-
put strong blocks and smoke of the boyd whatever the man, the man's
-
imagination has never reached God. He men, in fact, we are commanded.
-
He meant to put off imaginations, to cast them down. And then,
-
may I say tonight, from the Gospel of Genesis, I want to
-
say to not he men. Are you looking he meant for a ladder?
-
Or are you trusting in the tower? Amen? He me and Sister Tana,
-
Would the tower have ever got you to him? Would the tower have
-
ever got you out of where you were? He meant? Where she can
-
say, ho lot, The tower would have never caught me out of where
-
I was. It was not high enough. The tower would not and caught
-
me out of a whiskey bottle. The tower would have not taught me out
-
of my bas The tower woulda not taught me out of my way in my
-
condition. But that dog that was a ladder, that dog that was alder,
-
that was alder. Now that was something on that ladder that was not
-
man made imagination, that was God. Said amen, amen, brother,
-
how the reason that conviction is soul red it is because you're looking for it
-
on the top of the tower. And when you have that tower with an
-
imaginary all of God, we must have imaginary conviction. Amen. Amen.
-
I was preaching in a service one time in the church where I was preaching
-
out how they did a take ministry and went very very well. They preaching
-
up preaching, and he made an altar call. Here's what he said,
-
and I'm sitting He said, the sinners they're coming from the back, they're
-
coming from the middle, They're coming from all over the church. There wasn't
-
anybody. What is he talking about? What's he talking about? And then
-
dawned on me, brother, gam I'm sorry, I'm relating to the gambles.
-
He been in Bell County. So there you go, Amen, Amen,
-
I said, I said. I finally dawned on me, he's doing
-
that for the Cape ministry. He's advertising, Amen, this is advertising,
-
this advertisement for the great angers. Hemen, I've gotta come from all over
-
the place. He then we up to seventeen thousand saved last week. Well
-
what about us? Amen? I won't tell you. Friend. Amen,
-
the imaginary tower is just exactly what it is. It's an imaginary tower.
-
And you'll not lasting this last day that we're in. But ain't you grader
-
sitting in the place tonight? How many can lift a hand and say,
-
I believe the latter sits down right here? For I believe that I can
-
see if anybody can say, hey, there absolutely that this is the house
-
of dog. Amen. Amen, this is not just up killing, this
-
is not just the imagination. This is the house. I'm gone a man.
-
Know how many somebody praising hearing Roy only somebody coursing hear the right?
-
Hey mann, Amen, been gonna help. I'm being just like kidding.
-
I'm feeling so much strength right now. I'm feeling stronger right now that I
-
didn't gonna be pulled in, Amen, Amen, I preach for all was
-
way after two nights. I was worn out because I was trying to convince
-
them that that tower is not going anywhere, and now go in your imagination,
-
says heymen, I'll trust in my tower. I'll trust in it even
-
though no, even though there's no moving God, even though there's no power
-
of God, even though there's no coran God, even though there's no hope.
-
Now I'm gonna trust in it because I'll help build it. Because young
-
young preacher to them preaching in Richmond, Kentucky. Amen, Hey, elderly
-
sister came to the church one night and the revival. I mean, she
-
shouted, she hoped, she hollered, she ran, Amen, I mean
-
she's old, she's old, little old Amen. And after church, I
-
heyman, as a young preacher or not, I just she shook hands,
-
was talking. She said, I said, when do you go to church?
-
She said, I go to such She said, the Church of God
-
for that part of the country. Yeah. Maybe different down here, but
-
for that part of the country that that ship sailed long time ago. So
-
I looked at her and I said, does everybody there live like you do?
-
She said no, nobody does. To me, I said, why
-
do you stay? She said, well, we kind of helped put it
-
together, and we kind of help. I just always been there and I
-
feel a little I feel a little link, and I want to stay there.
-
Who will tell you for you? Hein't got time to trust in a
-
tower that don't don't no where and then even I'm feasting on what I'm hitting
-
down here, and they have to deal with a tower out there on the
-
road. But I could look back at the ladder and I'm down here with
-
tail could say thank God, thank God, and I was having to leave
-
the God, thank God, and I was able to come in from time
-
of God. I wish somebody who's happening you good time. I wish you
-
to do thank God. I wish you worsen here in your rail. If
-
this is a tower, then we are free that anyway you want to.
-
If this is a tower, do your taxes, work on your homework.
-
And if this is a tower, takes the best lamb. If this is
-
a tower, two Cossler puzzles. If this is a tower, tip my
-
fingernails. If this is a tower, the fifteen takes to the rest of
-
If this is a tower, do wherever you are rude, hey man.
-
But if this is a house of God, it's a house of calls a
-
house of God. There's lots that's a that's crazy. What's at the times
-
he's the eye and then alight clue. You won't find a Jeremy Howe at
-
the foot of that tower. Hosting people up. You won't find a Jeremy
-
Howe at the front of that towel trying to justify why God ain't moving.
-
You don't have to find it, just the road camp, opening the pibble
-
on a Sunday morning and giving you one hob of what does saith the word
-
of God. He the on top of the tower, We'll flip open,
-
heyman, the premeditated literature in God, and we'll just rehash what somebody else
-
said. Amen. Amen. Ay, then I'll just sit here. You
-
read the phone book. Amen. But when you're on top of the towel,
-
that's all matters. Our imagination says, this is this rich is heaven.
-
This is what gets to heaven. That's what that's it, this is
-
what the gospel. It's time to point out there is a real and there
-
is a counterfeit. There is that which does not get down. Amen.
-
It is not the fault. Hey man. You hear brother now, will
-
you hear it up in our part of the country all the time? Well,
-
ain't nobody wants holding us now? More so you blame you blame your
-
tiny little towel. You'll blame your tiny little tower. Are God's holy holy
-
world. I will tell you those folks here tonight that won't hold us the
-
thought they won't hold this. They won't hold us now. And then they
-
k there are sudden say well, their generation don't want it. I will
-
tell you him. Two young people right there, ay ma'am, we'll grab
-
on the wholeness and run with it. Wi A. So he've been sitting
-
down trusting in their towers, have two ny two pass a man of the
-
past, and now everybody else in the building, so don't know and praising
-
right now, play hard, go and take a running sabell. He then
-
hang out, think it's about timing. He then thank God to where he's
-
goodness and where's police? Say them. He then go ahead, go ahead
-
at the praise him, go ahead and worship him. He then he then
-
he then then I tell you you recognize sar war about this than a whole
-
lot of folks that ought to recognize a whole lot more about this, Amen,
-
Amen, I see redoles. When the young people started moving towards it,
-
he met a mom and dad got that, and then he then then
-
time that not that. He then he then I been there, amen.
-
He man with the young people started getting filled with the Holy Ghost and a
-
bunch of all wet blankets. He may have been. In fifty seven years,
-
I've never gotten no closer to God than when they started out. Amen,
-
get up. I have a patti Amen. Amen. You know I
-
wanta tell you tonight. This is a houseital o man a mail. I'm
-
gonna ask you again, Amen, with your immortal soul. Your soul that's
-
either gonna amen, being hell for eternity or being Heaven for eternity. Do
-
you trust it in an imaginary tower or do you trust it in the ladder
-
that reaches heaven and the head. He's up to you, ready, tone,
-
He's up to you tonight. Amen. Amen. I'm not gonna preach
-
long, Brother Luther. I'm not gonna hold it long. I'm the school
-
and preach what God's laying on my heart, and I won't ask us then
-
I is this church worth hemen? Getting behind and out the man? Amen?
-
Do you know how far let me and sister Asher when we're the brief
-
times we're home, do you know how far we would have to drive to
-
find anything even remotely like this God. I'm not talking to how or to
-
you. I'm talking a big, long drink. Amen, Amen, you're
-
blessed. And what the devil would have to do. He would love to
-
take a holy trial, He would love to take a hungry soul. He
-
would love to take a sinking soul. And if he can't teach you any
-
other way, if he can just get you to if I can just drag
-
him over that tower and get him trusting in that tower, get the rise
-
off of you don't have to go. You have to listen to that Jeremy
-
hell character. Well we got tower around here. Well we're we're, we're,
-
we're we're doing great. We were the Then he then pump the lock
-
right day a man. He said, well you keep pringshires, I'm good
-
and he now and then and then he said, well, how in the
-
world can you say that. I can say that because of what the Holy
-
Ghost lay on, whether you trusting in a tower or you looking for the
-
ladder, and better looking for the ladder, I'm ask you when you stand
-
with him right now and left your hands to Helen and say God, it
-
really doesn't matter anymore. It really doesn't matter. I'm not trying to justify
-
the tower. Amen, I am not time to Playtate don't imaginate shots that
-
seems like sister and everything in the world. And it's based on imagination.
-
The girl can imagine. She's a more impre imagine this girl. And we're
-
supposed to say, Okay, I said imagination. Don't tell me it's a
-
power dog when it I ain't. Don't tell me it's a boy till night.
-
Don't tell you some power dock you do the second the whole sus and
-
never take no wow, you know's not crazy? What do I think about
-
me? Like these turns? He's about ready to explode? Why whoa I
-
believe not only take come now when people somebody till own you and say I'm
-
tired, I'm the tired. I'm tired of the powers. I'm tired of
-
tallis believe in me loud wow m hen Timon tells us when my soul,
-
when my soul is over, well within me, leave me to lock that
-
is higher. I'm tired of the tower leading it to the ladder. He
-
man, man, Please forget how I'm not singing you all or picking on
-
you. I'm kno. Amen, Amen, you remind me so much of
-
a young Gray Asher, And at that time, the young Debbie Allen sitting
-
in church. You remind me of us, you really do, he meaned.
-
He then sitting in a place where the tower, the imaginary tower,
-
had to be accepted as this is the norm, this is the way it
-
is. It's just the way it is. And for years and years our
-
young life was marred and scarred until I was twenty nine years old, he
-
now by trying to figure out if that tower reached anything or not. But
-
thank God, one man for the hell he now doc let us a ladder
-
talking about what stub a ladder. I don't quit looking, I don't quit
-
searching. I don't give upon it. The Lord dog not give up on
-
me. I did not give up on Henny. I need not give up
-
on you. I just not give up on you. Hey now, Hey,
-
never me I till I say to Dodd, I wish I knew,
-
he never, what's holding you back? Right now? I wish I knew
-
what the obstacle was. I'll take a run and go at it and hit
-
it with everything I could hit it with and try to knock it out of
-
your way so you could step out of your pew right now and say,
-
preacher, I'm tired of the town. I'm tired of the I'm tired of
-
it, and I return out. He's talking about now, Lord leave me,
-
but a lad read me that you just leave me the pact thinking,
-
which is not satisfied, satisfied? What imaginary thing? Right, God,
-
what you will think of ann And he said, hold. I said,
-
h m hm hm hm m. You're a serday you have asked, have
-
I not? H h You can tell you you got stuff here the now
-
tired of the towers, step up on now the holy go sell the indeed,
-
the holy go sell downe the come on, neighbor, come on,
-
come on, come on, caten, come close. H you're tired of
-
the towers. Step on out, You're tired of something that's imaginary. Step
-
on out there, time of sucking a reel, step on out in reality,
-
Holy God, he's here, white man, Oh course have your wife,
-
holy ghost. M L man, my mom still what true? No,
-
thank you no
