An Address To The Afflicted - Bro Jeremy Howell 7-10-2024

I appreciate it, just that we're putting into the test to see if you

remember that, Brother Nathaniel Romans, chapter number eight, verse number thirty four,

who is he that condemned? It is Christ that died? He rather

that has risen again? Who is even at the right hand of God?

Who also maketh intercession for us? Aren't you thankful for the antecessor, Jesus

Christ? What would we do without our mediator and our intercessor? Brother the

same a Psalm chapter number thirty four, verse number nineteen. Many are the

affliction of the righteous, that the Lord delivereth him out of all of them.

The prosperity preacher forgets that verse all right, Brother Jonathan sam chapter number

one nineteen and verse number sixty seven. Before I was afflict that I went

astray, But now have I kept Thy word Verse number seventy one. It

was good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn thy

statues. And verse number seventy five. I know, o Lord, that

thy judgments are right, and that thou and faithfulness have afflicted me. There's

been a lot said about affliction already, and we're only two minutes into this

message. Problem let's stand for the reading of our golden text Exodus, chapter

number thirty three and verse number fourteen. The Bible said, and he said,

my presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Three or four of these brothers tonight talked about rest. And I sat over

there on that front for you, and I said, thank you, Lord

for confirming this message tonight. As we pray over this message, and as

you pray for me, we asked you to pray for brother Jesse and sister

Handed because it's evident they're making their way to the hospital right now for the

birth of their son. Would you pray, Heavenly Father, we love it,

We praise you. Thank you for the opportunity to be in the house

of the Lord Lord. As we preach. Recently, Jesus went into the

temple of God. Lord, I believe that this people has come into your

house. I'm thank you to that. I pray that you would have known

this, Thy servant said of God at my mound. Help me to say

the things that you would have me to say, nothing more or less or

doing the ears of this thin people, that they might hear what the spirit

of God says them to the church to not not my words, but your

words. God. I pray that these sayings would go below the shoulders,

that they would saturate the spirit and the soul. Lord, help us not

to hear only, but to heed. I prayed God that you would move

times, I say yes. Our text is found in an Old Testament book

of the Holy Bible. The Book of Exodus is a very captivating read as

the reader reads of the liberation of the Israelites from their cruel captors. They

were definitely in the hands of very cruel men. Again, they were definitely

in the hands of very cruel men. They had cruel captors. And how

many of you know that, if you're living in this life, you have

discovered already and sometimes you find yourself in the hands of cruel people, sometimes

in the form of a parent. Children have been abuse used before by parents.

Sometimes you find yourself in cruel hands, in the hands of your employer.

People have been bullied before by their employer. Secular carnal people have been

bullied by people that were superior to them. But also Christian people have been

bullied and picked on by people that were superior to them. And I'm telling

you here tonight that it remains true today that many are the afflictions of the

righteous, and we, as the children of God, we can relate to

this experience of the children of Israel. We find that these people had made

their exodus out of the land of Egypt, Brother Nathaniel, As I read

their story, it captivates me, meaning it captures my spirit. When I

begin to read their story, it's difficult for me to set this book down,

even if mister Howell has prepared and sliced a freshly baked cake, and

even if she's holding a plate of that cake. In my faith, it

is difficult for me to steer myself away from the story of the Israelites escaping

from the hands of their captors. You see the Israelites were experiencing a changing

of the time taking place in their life. God was turning things around and

having If you are thankful that God will turn things around, there's some of

you in this building tonight. You've been praying and seeking God, asking him

to turn things around for you and your family. The reason why I know

this is because last night, during my sleep, around three o'clock in the

morning, God begin to sturb my spirit to prayer. God put this message

upon my heart and spoke the title of tonight's message, and that title is

an address to the affliction. There is no doubt that these people had went

into the land of Egypt as the people of God. In fact, God

provided a land called Goshan for them to thrive him. They were not surviving

in the land of Goshen. They were thriving again. These are Israelites.

These are people that are descendants of Abraham, the Father of faith, if

you would, the greatest example of a faithful man of God up until this

time, and perhaps up until this day. We call him Father Abraham,

the father of the faith and the father of the faithful. And so these

people in time, Brother Tyler, because they're living in this life, in

this world, they find themselves under difficult circunstansus and syst the howl, that

includes being afflicted by their taskmasters. In the very first chapter of this book,

we read about these people, the children of God, that the situation

has taken a turn for the worst, and they're being afflicted by cruel taskmasters.

And while they were building beautiful, magnificent treasure houses for Pharaoh and treasure

cities for Pharaoh, they were being afflicted. The fields that they were labored

in were fields of sorrow. They were no longer fields of blessing. Whether

Nathaniel Pharaoh was literally using their blood, their sweat, and their tears to

build magnificent cities and structures through their manpower, the Hebrew people that Israelites were

being pressed upon sordid by the powerful fists of Pharaoh, the foremans and the

superintendents of Pharauh. We're making sure that they sorely afflicted the people of God.

But the more they afflicted the people of God, the greater they grew

in strength. In fact, the Bible said that the children of Israel were

made to serve the Egyptians with rigor. The Egyptians made these people's life miserable,

while they made their lives better and better staring as you testify tonight.

They could have become bitter, but they become better because somebody was praying.

At some point, somebody said enough is enough, and the chide of life's

see begin to change. You see, these Israelites really did desire change.

A lot of times we pursed. Sister wouldn't say, right here amongst this

group of people, if you do not want to change, you will not

change. But if you do want to become a new creature in Christ Jesus,

you will become that new creature, and old things will become new,

and old things will pass away. You see, these people because of obblection,

they had become better, and they would become better because somebody had started

interceding on their behalf. Every person in dispielding her that is becoming something in

God, or has become something in God. You must admit and acknowledge this

factory, that it came after you prayed, after you confess that your situation

was not confusive for your overall well being, and after you got on your

knees in those fields of sorrow with Phurroughs on your back, and warm blood

stayed in your clothes as you were there in your misery. I'm the same

pacer, not trying to make an excuse for help. Ghost has become such

a terrible place, but to admit that acknowledge I need help, that these

people acknowledge it that they were being afflicted. Now, I want you to

know here, Deny that God would not have stirred me up during the good

night's rest just for vain. That God did not do that just because he

wanted to commune with me. He's done that before. But quickly I could

desern that that it was for somebody else. And I'm beginning to pray for

ancient a sleep at all while God was wrestling with me. But as soon

as I got down and begin to pray and listen for the voice of God,

I begin to find peace and in my spirit. And not long after

your praying for me. I'm saying things about holding this field. I had

more sense than church. I was in church. I refused to leave church

because I didn't want God cutting me off forever. But when I knew there

was something mysterious, not magical, but when I knew there was something mysterious

going on in my soul when I was being afflicted, I responded, and

there's people in this building tonight, they responded. I remember when I was

preaching the Brother Nathaniel and he was struggling. He ain't always been the man

of God, he is tonight. I remember it was just in February twenty

twenty three, God put it on my heart in a service to say I

need spiritual people to pray. Brother Nathaniel and his family had been suffering an

affliction of the devil, repeated me, just to how do you remember that

the girls just kept getting sick as soon as they got better than got sick.

I mean, it's just a torment. The devil was trying to break

bron The thing was just a rachel But they kept mounting. Baptists kept praying

to come to church. Never laid out of church, accord to the Bible.

You dragged the lane to church, and that's not the answer. One

night, I said I needed spiritual people, not to pretend to be spiritual.

All I had at that time was just a handful of us holy gooes

filled people, but by the grace of God was seventy people at MeTL.

We only have besides children, just a handful that are spirit feeling. That's

unheard of. Not professors, but actual professors where the Holy goes manifest not

really faint manifestation, genuine power. But I said, just like I'm every

right now, in the same tone, I said, I need spiritual people

right now to pray. For brother day when Sister Rachel because after all these

months, his time for the devil would go. To my surprise, only

a handful of people could come, because it's just just a handful of us

that had the Holy coast. That was in February twenty twenty three. Brother

praying in the Holy Ghost, and he said, I realize I ain't spiritual.

I realized I don't have the power. I need to pray for my

own sons. I realize I'm the head of my house and I don't have

the Holy Ghost. And immediately, and I had promphesied about a month or

two prior, I said, Jesse, how them one night when you least

expect it, if you'll pray and seek and do your homework at home,

I said, one night, it'd be just as calm as it can do,

and it'll come upon you when you least totect it, and you will

be filled. I said, You're going to be amazed and your life will

be forever changed. I'm not to my own why, I'm just giving praise

to God, telling you you can change in a moment. Y'all heard how

an emptiness in that department of my soul. I remember, I will never

you'll go to where it's at. If they really want healing, they'll

go to where it's at. If they really need faith, they will go

to where it's at. If they really like holiness, they will go to

it's out. I know that God and he can take it so to be

there. But the truth is they don't want it. That's why you can

have a man heal a cancer, a man he'll have internal bleeding, a

man have a growth removed from his eyes instantly. A man have his back

and foot cure, or they would have her gold better cure. Miracle after

miracle after miracle after miracle. They're not busting the doors down. And the

problem is all of us better shake ourselves and see do we really want to

be where the tower was at? Because I used to hear this, fools.

is God and nudging us and pushing us to try to get us out of

a certain location. And I want to stay sweet, and I need to

go to the hospital right here, But if they really wanted it. I

used to drive two hours here for six years. And I told Tyler Wooton

after he turned eighteen because he used to hide behind his Bama. You remember

that night, I said, I was sitting down and shutting up. Everybody

knows I don't disrespect that woman. I love her, I said, but

I realize you're hide behind your grandma. I said, I You'll never speak

to him again about spiritual things. I'm the spiritual authority in his life,

and I won't tell every young person in this build. And your salvation is

up to you and what you do with your affliction. I'm just telling you

the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again inspect of

when we're all together, I say thank God for the afflictions. I'm

Godess still God ta Goddess, and I'm God. I go to God and

laws that I got. I tell you the affliction of this tribey. Could

a hen kill a brother? Come forget about it. I'm killing your Godness

looking at for my dead God was stucking at prod. We did not get

bidder. We got biddled. After your life, I got something better and

what we went looking at. This is a very different message tonight. But

if you don't go with the spirit, Brother Philip, I feel like there

was people in that crowd, and then there was Ray's Israelites that was lifting

up others to the Lord. Brother calebro Kept didn't know what I was gonna

preach tonight, but he said, past the reaching that that burden to lift

somebody up before the Lord to how many appreciate the intercessors I'm preaching on and

the afflictions. He is with That's what Moses had said. He had said,

carry me, not up hence unless you go with me. And God's

address to the afflicted, the people have been afflicted time and again in the

wilderness. His address was, my spirit shall go with you, and I

will give you the rest I'm preaching on and address to the afflicted, there's

people in this building. You're being afflicted. You're wondering why things aren't working

out for you. They're not going to you until you surrender to God.

We've been in some good services lately, very good services lately, but there's

some people in this building that are miserable. I feel like the hold of
