Confusing The Enemy - Bro Caleb Roadcap 10-2-2024

Yeah, we'll be looking at verses thirty through thirty two

I still have a praise to God in those load

with the Lord's tail.

But I'd like to preach on confusing my enemies. Yeah,

as I was praying in preparation for this sermon last

week because Pastor giving us a nice hands up, and

I always appreciate that because it's.

Time to really give up in that and pray. But

so it had some time and as we were praying

and we're.

Thinking this, this thought came to my mind. I was

praying and I began to pray, Lord, confuse my enemies.

And it just seemingly came out of the blue as

I was praying. And then we began to study for

the young adult and Nude Sonny School lesson last Sunday,

and we missed brother Nathaniel as well, and I came

across this portion during the Sony School lesson preparing about

it's very familiar to us about how David prayed about

turning the council the hitterfield and knot turn it into foolishness, confused.

The enemy line. Just the background here and.

This will be a review a little bit for the

youth class. But David was on the run from his

own flesh and blood. His third born son, Absolom. Absolom

rose up and he decided that he ought to be

the king. He could do better. That rebellion, that resentment

began to build. He began to belittle his father to

the people. He waited the boss forty years, some scholars

believed four years.

But he waited some.

Time, and he built up, and he planned, and he

turned the hearts of the people. And then he rose

up in rebellion against his father and led a rebellion

against his father the king. And this was actually in

a way prophesied by Nathan the prophet. We know of

David sin with Bathsheba and Uriah back in chapter twelve,

and Nathan comes and he speaks that there would be

issues in David's family, there would be problems in his

family as a result of his sin. And so coming

in to this, Absolum apps at Absolum's own character and

what he did, and coming up this is part of

that because of David's is part of the punishment that

came forth.

And our band taste. As I said, we are.

Familiar with this fortunate of scripture of David's prayer and

David's plea to the Lord.

Many of us we've probably heard a.

Sermon on you know, God turning it around or God

making away and trusting God in the middle of all

these types of circumstances and in other words, David was

entreating the Lord to confuse his enemies. Abslom had counselors.

Absolom had a plan, and he was coming after David.

And a hitter felt if in my studies, but I

remember correctly it was Bashi was grandfather or father was

somehow related and tied in. Somebody who had been close

to David at one time, had been there beside David.

And now they're counseling his son to come against him,

and David's pleading that God would turn that around and

work it out for his good. And truly, we like David,

whenever we find ourselves in any situation, should pay on

the little days as well as the biggest. We should

pray when things are going good, things should go to

find it's easy to have the praise and though in

those high times and have the high song. Is He's

gonna worship in those times? But here we find David

being a prime example that in the low times we

must calling the Lord and besiech the Lord, because only

he could turn this around. Nobody but God could move

for David in this situation, when so many people seem

to have turned and follow after Abslom.

Yes, David was still beloved by so many.

But only God could move and turn this around.

And can I say nothing should stop our worship. We

read here in verse.

Thirty two that David as he it says that he

came up he was weeping. We read there where he

was weeping. The people that were with him, they were weeping.

They came up mourning. They came up weeping. But it

says they came up to the top of the mountain,

and that top of the mountain that was a place,

it specifies here.

Where they worshiped God.

I believe they stopped the weeping, They stopped the morning,

and they begin to thank God for his faithfulness in

times past and believe in him that he would be

faith in the upcoming future. We're all aware that many

have stated that the formula for the best prayer, even

Jesus himself. It begins and it ends with the praise.

It begins and it ends with the worship. We're all

aware that our most effective prayer should be accompanied with.

Worship and praise to God.

And our worship it shows our love for God, It

shows our admiration for God, but it also shows our

trust in God. When we worship him despite what's around us.

When we worship him in spite of what's around us,

it shows our trust in Him and our dependence on him,

that even though we may not see it clearly, even though,

like the man said, Lord, I believe helped out my

unbelief him, though there.

Might be something there what our faith.

It's an exercise of faith to say, Lord, I trust you.

I know you've been good at times before. I'm trusting

you now to bring it through this. When we think

of characters in the Bible who are prime examples of

worship praise, many of us would think of David and

how he was the great Palmist of visual how he

wrote so many, the hundreds of psalms that he wrote,

and how you know on the backs that he plays

hard and worship by right. The songs meditate on the

words of the Lord and on the law of God.

So many of us we think of that when we

think of a worshipper in old tests and biblical times.

And yet we see David here in a low place,

despite being a man of such praise, despite being a

man of such worship, he finds himself in this low

time and in this slow place and in a dire situation.

But yet he's still he hasn't lost his praise.

If the devil believed that he could discourage the psalmist,

he was badly mistaken. If we felt that he could

disquiet this worshiper, he was badly mistaken. If he felt

like he could shake the faith of the man who

was truly after God's own heart, a man that.

Had seems God moved time and time again.

A man like brother Philip precied about the giants fell before.

And if the devil thought that this would come against

he's already faced so many things that David showed that

we do our.

Trust in the Lord, and that we keep pushing onto

our mountaintop. I was agreeing.

In verse number two, it talks about someone who showed

up on the scenes, and it was who Shi And

this is one of David's friends. And later on in

this story, who Shy is the one that goes back

and he begins to undermine the work of a hitterfel.

Who Sho is the one that.

Begins to offer counter counsel if you would, He begins to,

you know, help David and works for David in this

But I begin to think. David's go on to talk

of the mountain where they worship, and somebody showed up.

And I'm so thankful that every.

Time that we come and we lift our hands, every

time without fail that we offer worship. We may not

see Him at the beginning, we may not feel him

at the beginning of it. We may not feel it

him in the middle of it. But at some point

God will make himself known. God will show up on

that on that mountaintop, even in the valley. We get

to worship God in the valley as we're making our

way up, and God will meet with us. And He's

ultimately the one that puts us in those high places.

Right. I had this thought. I had this verse on

my heart.

Even before Brother getting He's preached Sunday morning in Psalms

twenty three, verse five, it says, now prepares the table

before me in the presence of mine enemies, Thou annoyingest

my head with oil, My cup run is over.

I begin to think on that part about.

Preparing a table before you in the presence of your enemies.

Like brother again, I love what he said, saying, basically,

if I got it right, basically God's gonna tell you

to sit down, enjoy this, and he's gonna want the

devil back again. The enemy they have to watch while

you're enjoying what God's done for you. And you know,

it's so confusing to the enemy when he feels like

he's put you through a family. He feels like he's

taking everything from you, and feels like there's nothing that good, nothing.

Around you that could prosper you. But yet then he

gets confused.

God confuses your enemy when he prepares a table for you.

He fosters you to sit down in funer and in

peace and enjoy the presence of the blessings of the Lord.

And it goes on to say that anoying us my

head with oil, that anoy is my head with oil,

and my cup runneth over.

Help.

But think about every time the Lord shows up and

the Holy Ghost.

Begins to manifest, how those saints of.

God that may be during the week they got bad reports,

Saints of God that have been beaten down by circumstances

and things. They come in and the annoying begins to

move through the church house, and the oil of the

Holy Ghost begins to move and to bless people, to

help people, and how it compisses the enemy, because despite

what he's thrown at you, despite what it seems to

be bothering your mind as fight, let's kept you awake tonight.

Yeah, somehow you've been Lift up your.

Hands and worship God, and have trust in God, and

have faith in God, and who annoint you with that greshold,

and come by and bless you in a.

Mighty way like only he can.

Psalms Chapter three and Psalms Chapter sixty three we're both

believed to have been written while David was on the

run from Alpsalom. I'm talking about those Psalms and brothers

stared you. In Psalm sixty three, David begins reaffirmly at

the beginning of it, Oh God, thou wert my God,

Early will I seek thee my soul thirsted for THEE

flesh long, and for THEE as a dry and a

thirsty land where no water is here. David's reaffirming that

despite his current situation, his trust is in the Lord.

He still claims the Lord God Jehovah to be his God,

and he's not lost his trust in the Lord.

He moves on to.

State his desire for God's power and his Lord to

be manifest once again as it was in times past.

Because truly, if God was faithful to do it before,

he's always faithful, and he will constantly show up and

work thanks for our good and ultimately for his glory.

Verse five, it speaks, my soul shall be satisfied as

with tomorrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise Thee

with joyful lips. How confused it would that be. David

is on the run from his own son. He's in

a terrible situation. He's had to run away from his

own home. He's being driven out of his own home,

from his own land. And yet here he is saying

he has joyfulness, right, he's being joyful. And I began

to think how people, many of us, we've had people

they're like, you're always fine, you seem so happy, you

seem so joyful, you seem so peaceful. Many people have

had had that experience of people ask for you. Our

joy comes from the Lord. Fight our situations. Just fight

the bad news and the bad reports that we may

get our joy and our peace is still and the Lord.

Our trust is still in God. Because he's never found

his people. He may not show up at the times

we think he should. He may not do everything exactly

the way we think he should, but ultimately it is

for our good, and we continue to put our trust

in him, though we may not understand it all. It's

almost confusing to someone who hasn't experienced that joy having

experienced that piece as to why someone like David in

this situation he could say, I'll praise THEE with joyful lips.

Verse six goes on, though, and it speaks of it.

I remember THEE upon my bed and meditate THEE in

the in the night watches. He's not ashamed to say

that there are knights of restless restlessness, and there's eveless nights.

He did deny the fact.

That there was those long nights where he lied a weight, thinking,

Oh God, what are we gonna do next?

Lord? Where what's the next move? God? How are we

gonna get us through this? He doesn't deny this, but

he states.

That in these times, instead of solely focusing on the issue,

instead of solely focusing on his on his problems, he

turns his focus and he turns his attention onto God,

the one who's proven himself time and time again, the

one that's proven faith on the one.

That can ultimately confuse the enemies.

To turn the situation around for is good. Our pastors

preached it and encouraged us so many times to watch

our our body language and how we manifest our you know,

disappointment and joy.

Because it's easy, it's easy in our in.

Our human selves to sometimes just focus on those bad things.

But we have to remember, and it's a mindset we

have to remember to thank for the Lord and remember

his goodness. I remember that message he preached.

I don't remember the title, but he talked about encouraging

yourself and David encouraging himself and talking to himself and

singing to himself.

And remember, I remember for that message pastor saying it's

okay to talk.

To yourself and talking about encouraging yourself and the Lord.

And truly that's something that we have to hold on to.

And I begin to think about there's anything to take

away from this. We've talked about David and how he

he's a model example to fight whatever's going on despite

the family problems, to fight despite the battle that you

might be facing with someone of a person coming against you,

or maybe the enemy himself battling you in some way.

Despite all these things, we must remember to focus on

the Lord, the trust and the Lord and.

Ultimately that he can turn it around. And it's one thing.

It's one thing to come into the church service, even

on a Midwick service. It's one thing to come into

a Midwik serge. You might have had a bad day,

but it's easy the mind with service to worship God.

While the same to the worship the praise the Lord,

to thank on his goodness.

But how about it our.

Day to day and I've had to check myself every day,

you know, taking that time to just focus on the Lord. Again,

we might not be going into service, but we're still

to worship God. We're still to offer praise, to thank

him each and every day for his goodness and his blessings,

for his benefits, because truly has benefited his people. Yeah,

good all stand Brother Roy mentioned in his preach, we

mentioned on Daniel the three human children, and as he

was preaching, I began to thankful on how these Their

reaction was truly confusing to the enemy.

If you would.

See the batloads as their enemies, they were expecting them

to just boy down. They're expecting them just you know,

to worship that image, and even Dangel they're expecting him

to stop rating. It was confusing as to why would

somebody put so much trust in the God.

That can't see.

Why would somebody put so much trust in a God

that they're not even around their people anymore, they're taking captive,

they're not in their whole land. Why would they still

hold on to such a faith. It was confusing in them,

But yet they stood and they they kept their trust

in God.

Right hold silas.

Also they chose to worship despite their prison, despite their chains,

and it was in their worship that they found their victory.

God is faithful time and time again, and through our

worship we could see him move. And through our worship

we can't tell them the heart strings of God that

he would come and confuse our enemies. And our actions

themselves will.

Confuse our enemies.

When the devil pops against this is trying to beat

us down and keep us hand no matter what it is,

our our worship will confuse him, and the Lord can altoplay,

come in and turn things around. Farkas all the great,

but just keep remember that friend who's shy you matter

where you are, we just get a worship for Ard,

just like Whosha showed up for David. God will always

show up for us. It's in him we put our trust.

It's in Him that we we believe.
