Those man joy to the world.
-
The Lord has come. Some folks don't want to accept it,
-
you know. Some people say they're still looking for him.
-
Some people still looking for the Christ. He has come.
-
Make room. Let earth make him room. Amen. Amen.
-
So good to be in the Lord's house on Christmas Day.
-
Amen.
-
I love this. I told my wife. Ever since I
-
heard about us doing this today, I've been so happy
-
and excited. It's good to celebrate Christmas in Chirk with you.
-
I told my wife.
-
I said, I'll celebrate his birth by bringing my presence
-
to his house.
-
Amen. I'll bring my presence to his house. Amen.
-
So good to be in the Lord's house on this Wednesday,
-
on Christmas morning, Christmas Day, Christmas afternoon.
-
Amen.
-
Let's look in the Book of lout quickly here this
-
morning here today, Book of Luke, chapter number one. I
-
want to read a little bit of scripture here. Thank
-
him for this opportunity to speak something he had on
-
Jesus's birthday. I know I've gotten some people at work
-
day that is not actually his birthday. We don't know
-
when his birthday is was actually, but this is whenever.
-
We celebrate it, and this is the time that we.
-
Set aside to acknowledge the birth of Jesus.
-
Amen, Amen, I tell him you're right. You're right. We
-
don't know when it was, but it's just as likely
-
on this day as any other day. Amen. You got
-
a one in three hundred and sixty five chance. Hey,
-
maybe this is it.
-
I don't know, but somebody decided this was a good
-
time of year to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
-
And I agree with him.
-
Amen, I agree, it's a good day to celebrate it,
-
all right, Luke, Chapter number one, birth number twenty eight.
-
Let's look at it. The Angel came in.
-
Unto her and said, Hell, thou art highly favored. The
-
Lord is with thee blessed, art thou among women. And
-
when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying,
-
and cast in her mind what manner of.
-
Salutation this should be.
-
And the Angel said up to her, fear not Mary,
-
for thou hast found favor with God. And behold, thou
-
shalt conceive in thy womb and bring forth the sun,
-
and shalt call his name Jesus. Annie shall be great.
-
Annie shall be called the son of the Highest, and
-
the Lord God shall give up to him the throng
-
of his father, David Annie shall reign over the house of.
-
Jacob forever and of his kingdom. There shall be no end. Amen.
-
You believe that this morning. You believe that he's the
-
final king. Amen, He's the final king. He's the final
-
authority of his kingdom.
-
There shall be no end. Amen.
-
Look at verse number thirty eight stip a few verses.
-
Mary said, behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it
-
unto me according to thy word, and the Angel departed
-
from her. Mary was no doubt a great young woman.
-
She was somebody that had kept herself holy. She had
-
someone that had kept herself pure. She was a good
-
young woman. I believe that she feared God, that she
-
was looking for his arrival.
-
Amen. I believe that she expected him to come. Now.
-
I don't know that she had her expected that it
-
would be her, But I believe that she was living
-
in such a.
-
Way that it could be her. Amen. If she wasn't
-
living that way, and she wasn't expecting him, then.
-
God would have never chosen her when God looked down
-
upon the world, when he had she choose one person
-
to carry the Son of God, when they had to
-
choose one person out of all the people that were
-
in the world across that time.
-
He chose Mary. Amen. She was a great woman.
-
She was chosen by God to carry Jesus throughout her
-
daily life.
-
Amen. The title of a child is about nine months,
-
So for about.
-
Nine months, Mary carries the gospel. For about nine months,
-
Mary carries the Son of God pouring into this.
-
World in her room. Everywhere she went, she carried Jesus. Amen.
-
She was a willing heart.
-
She had a.
-
Divine assignment to carry Christ with her everywhere she went. Amen.
-
She was divinely assigned er.
-
Divinely assigned to carry the word of God's in pardonate
-
Jesus Christ in the flesh.
-
Amen. She was a willing heart.
-
For in verse thirty eight we read that she accepted
-
the task, and Mary said, behold to the behold the
-
handmaid of the Lord. Be it unto me according to
-
thy words. She accepted the challenge. Whatever God gave her
-
the opportunity, she accepted and said, yes.
-
Lord, be it unto me, even as bell will. Amen,
-
that's up to that was up to her, That was
-
up to Mary. She was chosen, but she had to
-
accept the task. Amen.
-
All right, we see, we see the the after effect
-
and the aftermath of her accepting the challenge. Amen, we
-
see the benefits and we and we reaped the benefits
-
of Mary's decision to carry the christ Child.
-
Amen. We see that even though the challenges that.
-
She may face, despite what others may assume, may have
-
assumed about her, although they knew, I feel like she
-
was like Member Ruth whenever she came to to Beth
-
maham Boy, I said, all the.
-
People they see you, and they and they know that
-
you're a virtuous woman. They know that you're a good girl.
-
I know that there was some people down Now, I
-
know Mary better than that. I know Mary better than
-
to be on some foolishness.
-
Amen.
-
She was chosen by God because she was thoughtless man.
-
So despite what others would say, despite what others would assume,
-
despite what others would act like and what they would
-
spread on her, she chose to carry the Gospel.
-
Amen.
-
She chose to carry Jesus everywhere she went. Every Christian
-
in this place and.
-
In this entire world has been chosen to carry the Gospel.
-
God demituded to carry the Gospel into all the world,
-
to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
-
Mary had an opportunity before her.
-
Mary had chanced to say, O, Lord, I'm not gonna
-
take that require fability. You have the chance here today
-
and say all take down responsibility.
-
But what if Mary would have did that?
-
What if Mary would have said that, Amen, mark chapter
-
number sixteen to back it up. Amen, I'm almost done here,
-
Mark chapter number sixteen.
-
We're gonna back it up with scripture.
-
And he said up to them, go ye into all
-
the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
-
Amen.
-
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but
-
he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs
-
shall follow them that belief in my name. They shall
-
cast out devils, They shall speak.
-
With new cuns.
-
They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any dead,
-
they thing and shall not hurt them. They shall lay
-
hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then,
-
after the Lord has spoken unto them, he was received
-
up into heaven.
-
And sat on the right hand God.
-
And they went for and preached everywhere, the Lord working
-
with them and confirming.
-
The word with signs following Amen.
-
The last commandment that Mark ever recorded, Jesus saying the
-
last commandment that Jesus Mark ever felt like, Yeah, that's
-
was Jesus's final words to me. That was God's final words. Right,
-
go ye into all the world. The last command by
-
Mark was to each and every one of us. It
-
was an assignment to everyone in this house today, on
-
this Christmas morning, and it was an assignment to everyone throughout.
-
The world to go into the world.
-
We must carry the good news of the Gospel everywhere. Amen,
-
despite what others say, Mary carried and despite what others
-
would say, despite what others do, we must carry the
-
gospel Mary cared in despite what others did.
-
Amen. It's our duty to carry the gospel. Amen.
-
We must carry the good news in the Gospel everywhere
-
in the town. Amen, into the courthouse, Amen, into the job, Amen.
-
Into the hotel, into the end of the hospital, and
-
where we go. Let's be as married and carry the
-
blessed Gospel. Hey Amen. Amen, Let's tarry Jesus with us.
-
Let's tarry Jesus with the same.
-
Where is God?
-
Where's your God?
-
Right Loujah? Amen? Ain't you thankful for God this morning?
-
Hey man, there's an old song that says you've gotta
-
take the Lord with you everywhere you go.
-
Amen. Truly, you gotta take him with you. Amen. Where
-
is God?
-
This morning?
-
The Lord had Laida just to smoke one on my heart.
-
And I want to, amen, try to get it out
-
the best I can here. Amen, I want to look
-
over at Ephesians, chapter number four and verse numbers.
-
Will start at around verse number six and read down
-
through verse number eight.
-
There he said, one God and one Father of all,
-
who is above all and through all, and in you all,
-
but on every one of us, has given grace according
-
to the measure of the gift of Christ.
-
Wherefore he said, as when he is.
-
Sending up on high, he'll let captivinedy captive, and gave
-
gifts unto men.
-
Amen.
-
Now truly this morning, Amen, probably we've all opened some presents.
-
We've already got some gifts and received some things.
-
Amen.
-
You know a gift is a gift, whether received or rejected.
-
Amen. That meaning of the word gift means something given
-
willingly to someone.
-
Without payment of present.
-
Amen.
-
And here this morning we all experience the wonders and
-
then of the gift.
-
And here in Ephesians they would begin to write here
-
and say that there is a gift of Christ.
-
Amen, And that God would give unto men Amen, gifts. Amen.
-
So as we see a man in loose gospel, we.
-
Know Amen, we began to experience the gift of Christ,
-
and then the gift of.
-
Christ to us Amen, and to the world. And then
-
his brother Jesse said, we've got to spread of gifts.
-
Amen.
-
Now.
-
And then, while we were yet sinners, the Bible said
-
Christ died for us. And then now in all knowing
-
God could look into the future, Amen, and see the
-
pain he would endure. And then and all knowing God
-
to look into the future and know how many strikes
-
a man would be laid on his back, on all
-
knowing God would see, Amen, the amount of blood he
-
would lose. Amen.
-
From the time he was being and been to go,
-
Gods wrow ain't not yet from the foundations of the world.
-
Amen, of God.
-
A man that had never sin, that never done anyone
-
any wrong, a man would look Amen through the future. Amen,
-
from the very foundation he didn't began to form You
-
and I they meant him say I will save to him,
-
they mean despite their sin. And then we see Amen,
-
he didn't back out of it. Lauren Luke's Gospel ain't
-
been the one to move.
-
They'd been recording. Hopefully we all read this morning.
-
They made a howl that special day and meant God
-
began to fulfill now that he had set out to do.
-
He came on a mission to be the gift of
-
God and man.
-
Now the un scripture we're all familiar winsen for God
-
sow up the world.
-
But what's that word.
-
Game?
-
He game? The eyes shunner that that day ain't whether
-
received or rejected, he gave me.
-
Whether you despise him, spit all him out, esteem him lightly,
-
and then you may not find you him.
-
Awaken me too.
-
But on Christmas Day this morning, I just want to
-
take a second and say I'm thankful for the gift.
-
It's better and nothing.
-
Oh, I received the game forever will and a the
-
gift of God and man, which is a kind of life.
-
Who Christ Jesus our Lord. And then, whether received or rejected, he.
-
Gave the greatest gift, and truly friendly, it is a
-
gift that keeps on giving.
-
I looked in my life while I knelt down, and
-
then threw my minds on.
-
And then as we were praying after reading, and then
-
the one the boy men splending the can they men
-
as Luke Wilming.
-
And then then I begin to see the gifts didn't
-
stop giving. And then all those times I mean I
-
needed healing it the gift Brother would had already made
-
preparation all those times we needed a miracle.
-
The gift gave. He ain't stopped giving.
-
Hey any what he never will shun to heaven hot
-
whether you received the gift or rejected out a dozen.
-
Chains of babu on me had accountable that, hey, gay
-
under you, he can't gires son the man. They can't
-
the gift after humanity, and I love it this morning point,
-
I thank you this morning point. And then without him,
-
where would I be on Christmas Day? The day we
-
have set aside to celebrate and mean, I thank you, Oh.
-
I thank you?
-
And then there are many things, Amen.
-
We don't have kneeled down, but we still take time
-
and then to make sure we and then get a
-
man that the proper.
-
Amen alloted time.
-
Amen, right, a man like brother Jesse said, I may
-
not know amen for certain, this is his birthday and man,
-
but just because I don't know for certain to days birthday.
-
Why would I go and then all year without at.
-
Least stopping at some point to say happy birthday, Jesus.
-
I mean, I thank you for what you've done for me.
-
And then you realize that baby the late in that
-
Maine and knew where he was going.
-
Right shore, that he they hot, And then we got
-
babies here this morning, and they're oblivious to all they
-
will suffer. He lived his life knowing where he was headed.
-
He lived Amen, thirty three years knowing what he must suffer.
-
We're going high and I'm so I want to be
-
careful this morning to say that I love my Lord,
-
I love my Jesus, I love my church.
-
Amen, I love my pastor. Amen. In a happy birthday.
-
Amen to the one that changed my life. Amen to
-
the greatest sixteenth. Amen, it has ever been changed. Oh
-
will amen. I thank God this morning, Amen, that he
-
came and he gave. Amen. He gave more than just
-
himself on that day a man. He also gave himself
-
on Calvary, and he continues to give to me. Amen.
-
I thank the Lord for being there this morning. I
-
thank God for the opportunity of man. I love Jesus
-
this morning. Man, Could you raise your hands and thank
-
God for Jesus. Want to give Damen what to give. Oh,
-
thank you, thank you God.
-
Thank you Goluliah, thank you Jesus.
-
Thankful God, God, Jesus.
-
The Lord God.
-
Don't you appreciate Brother Jesua and Brother Nathaniel. I'm telling
-
you what they gave to us just now was heaven sent.
-
I felt it in my soul. I appreciate them so much.
-
I appreciate you all being here in the House of
-
the Lord on Christmas Day. We're so thankful for you
-
being willing to come this morning to.
-
The House of God.
-
I feel like it's very important that people acknowledge the
-
time of his birth, that people acknowledge his birthday. It
-
is true we cannot exactly pinpoint the very day of
-
his birth, but nevertheless we believe in the virgin birth.
-
We know that he can.
-
And that's occasion enough to celebrate. You will remember the
-
prophet spoke to the King of Israel, namely the King
-
of Israel named Saul, and the words were said to him,
-
do as occasion doth serve thee. Pretty much, the prophet
-
was saying, when the opportunity arises, when the occasion service thee,
-
do as the occasion service. So here we are doing
-
as the occasion has served us. We want to celebrate
-
his birthday.
-
Have your Bible.
-
We turn with me to Matthew Chapion number two. I
-
do not plan to keep you very long. I want
-
to say thank you so much for breaking away from
-
all of the things that you have going on today
-
in order to set aside about an hour and a
-
half to be in the house of the Lord. We
-
have come to worship him. Take time to worship him.
-
Praise the Lord. Matthew, Chapter number two, reading verses number
-
one through twelve. Mary Christmas, beautiful Bethel, Mary Christmas.
-
It's so good to see if the.
-
Bible says now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea,
-
in the days of Herod the King, Behold, there came
-
wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, where is
-
he that is born King of the Jews? For we
-
have seen his star in the east and are come
-
to worship him. When Herod the King had heard these things,
-
he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
-
And when he had gathered all.
-
The chief priests and scribes of the people together, he
-
demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they
-
sent it to him in Bethlehem of Judea. For thus
-
it is written by the Prophet, and now Bethlahem in
-
the land of Judah. Or not thou least among the
-
princes of Judah. For out of these shall one come
-
a governor that shall rule my people in Israel. Then Herod,
-
when he had probably calls the wise men, inquired of
-
them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent
-
them to Bethlehem, and said, go and searched diligently.
-
For the young child.
-
And when ye have found him, bring me word again
-
that I may come and worship him. Also, when they
-
had heard the king, they departed, and lo, the star,
-
which they saw in the east, went before them, and
-
it came and stood over where.
-
The young child was.
-
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
-
And when they were coming to the house, they saw
-
the young child would mary his mother, and fell down
-
and worshiped him. And when they had opened their treasures,
-
they presented unto him gifts gold and frankincense of mird. And,
-
being warned of God in a dream that they should
-
not return to Herod, they departed into their own country
-
another way. May we pray heavenly Father, Lord, I'm glad
-
to be numbered among those that have made it a
-
priority to come.
-
To your house and to worship you.
-
People of light, precious faith, people that share a common
-
denominator that's Jesus Christ. So love the truth.
-
You desire that in our inward parts. Lord, you desire
-
truth in the inward parts.
-
I pray that you would have know what this Thy
-
servant set of guard at my mouth and helped me
-
to say the thing that you would have me to say,
-
nothing more or less than on the ears of this
-
thy people, that they might hear what the Spirit of God.
-
Said unto a church blessed this Christmas day, God, in
-
Jesus' name, we prayed, and the church said Amen, looking
-
closely at verse number two, saying where is.
-
He that is born King of the Jews?
-
For we have seen his star in the east and
-
are come to worship him. Notice that keyword worship. Go
-
down to verse number eleven. And when they were coming
-
to the house, they saw the young child with Mary
-
his mother, and fell down and worshiped him. And when
-
they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts
-
gold and frankinsense, and merr looks to me like they
-
gave gifts and celebrated. Somebody opened gifts. Look at that
-
verse number eleven, and when they had opened their treasures,
-
they presented unto him gifts gold and frankincense and myrr.
-
Okay, So I want to talk to you just briefly
-
this morning.
-
The purpose of us being here on Christmas Day is
-
that we might worship Him. I don't understand how it
-
is that so many are so busy that they fail
-
to set aside time to worship him. Early this morning,
-
the Lord put a thought upon my heart, and it's
-
been burning within my bosom as a fire ever since
-
he did. Most of you are familiar with this expression
-
concerning Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year.
-
It depends on how things are going for you, whether
-
or not you wholeheartedly concur with that lyric. And so
-
as I was seeking the Lord early this morning, tulsing
-
and turning, God dealing with my heart, pouring something into
-
my heart, it seemed like the Holy Ghost spoke this
-
phrase and expression into my heart. The most wonderful moment
-
in time, the most wonderful moment in time, was the
-
time of Christ's birth. His birth should not be subject
-
to argument. And what I mean by that they should
-
not be arguing over whether or not the virgin birth.
-
Took place.
-
They should not be arguing whether or not it took
-
place on December twenty fifth.
-
They're missing the main theme of Christmas.
-
They're overlooking the main theme of Christmas, and that is
-
we celebrate the virgin birth of Jesus, and in our
-
celebration we should be worshiping him. The subjects and characters
-
before us this morning are these oriental wise men that
-
came from the east looking for an opportunity to worship him. Now,
-
I believe that these men were very busy. I told
-
Sister Howell, as her loving husband, and as also the
-
pastor of this church this morning, I said, you have
-
been so busy over the last couple of days.
-
Don't forget that our purpose.
-
Is to set aside time and worship him. I said,
-
I had to pastor this people, and I can sense
-
the stress and the anxiety, and I can sense just
-
the pressure that's upon you and.
-
That affects me.
-
I can sense it because of you being unsettled exactly
-
where you're at concerning families about to come over. That
-
has put an unsettled spirit inside of me. That's made
-
me a bit anxious. It's made me feel a little
-
bit unsettled and uneasy. And if that can happen to
-
your pastor and your first lady, mile, mile.
-
My, what's going on in the world today. It's the
-
spirit of Martha.
-
Jesus did tastise and wear.
-
Out that spirit.
-
It doesn't matter if it's the first lady or a
-
deaconess or an elder or a deacon or a lay preacher,
-
or an evangelist or a missionary, a governor, a police officer,
-
or whoever it is, if they've got that spirit about
-
them where they're so cumbered about doing this and doing
-
that that they failed to set aside time to worship him.
-
Jesus can scold you and correct you.
-
And if you're above chastisement, that means you're above receiving
-
the love of the Lord. Because the Bible said, for
-
as many as he loves, he chastens and rebukes me zealous,
-
therefore and repent. There is no doubt that Jesus loved Martha.
-
He loved Mary, he loved the Lazarus. There's no doubt
-
he loved the meals and Martha prepared. I don't feel
-
like he was casting a shadow upon the work ethic
-
of Martha. I don't believe he could say that the
-
taste of Martha's food was second to someone else's or
-
some par There's no doubt there was a reason why
-
Jesus grew aboitated towards the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus.
-
The Bible spoke concerning Christ's love for Lazarus and for
-
his two sisters, Martha and Mary. But what was that
-
drawing factor that kept him coming by the house of
-
those three siblings. It was the way Mary worshiped him.
-
The Bible said, God is a spirit, and they that
-
worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
-
And I want you to know there's a lot of
-
Christian people, both Pentecostal and holiness, and even those are
-
the nominal churches this morning that will have reasonings a
-
mile long if they were to be listed of why
-
they could not set aside time today or one day
-
this week, or conduct and have and participate in a
-
midweek service, There'll be many, many, many, many many reasons.
-
And for the wayfair and man and the traveler. There
-
should be a house of worship somewhere that they could
-
drop into. What the problem is in this generation, no
-
one has.
-
The light on in the room. No one has the
-
light on in the end.
-
It should be that a pastor Howell, it's just the
-
how it needs to travel to Tennessee for family Christmas.
-
It should be that we could have a consolation in
-
our heart and spirit that's somewhere in that vicinity. A
-
house of truth, a house of worship, a house of prayer,
-
would have the doors unlocked, the doors widely open, and
-
then it would be permissible to worship in there.
-
But unfortunately, we're.
-
Living in a generation and it's got so busy they
-
don't have time.
-
To worship him.
-
And I can really preach this, but I'm gonna try
-
to hold back here just a little bit. I think
-
we should take some time to worship him. When we
-
were seeing joy to the world a little while ago,
-
you could tell this church family was worshiping him. So
-
what was the magnetism of the House of Martha? So
-
she would call it, Oh, there's no doubt the aroma
-
that was in that house was splendid. There's no doubt
-
she was a great cook. If she was to live
-
in our day, what would the aroma of that place
-
be like? It be tremendous, with the smell of cinnamon
-
be in the air. Would the smell of a freshly
-
make apple pie be in the air? Pumpkin pie? There's
-
no doubt that Martha would be like sister Howe, will
-
get up early seven o'clock and work hard all the
-
way until ten thirty. There's no doubt she'd be just
-
as busy as it be as expression goes. But there
-
was a traveler coming her way, and she would be
-
too busy to worship him, too busy to worship him
-
and Jesus at some point must have had a red
-
streak going up the side of his neck. Sister Tracy
-
does when she gets embarrassed. Brother Jesse said that Sister
-
Hannah and her daughter inherited that. He said, I can
-
tell when my wife Hannah's flustered. I know she's either
-
embarrassed or angry. Yes, sweet modus meat, Sister Hannah, there's
-
a telltale sign she's flustered. She's upset about something, Brother
-
Thomas steric. Brother Jesse talked about that on wide red
-
streak that comes up. It's like a billboard to Jesse
-
saying back off, bubba.
-
Huh.
-
So at some point in the middle of this wonderful dinner,
-
in this time of excellent service, five.
-
Star service, you talk about hospitality.
-
Hospitality supreme.
-
But in the middle of that, Jesus said, Mary, I
-
need to tell you something. I mean, Martha, I need
-
to tell you something. I appreciate everything you're doing. I'm paraphrasing.
-
And surely everything Martha had done was needful and required
-
from the basin of water that had been offered to
-
wash their feet.
-
But he said, Mary has chosen to do that one thing.
-
It's very needful, that most important part, and that is
-
to worship me.
-
And I know that our brothers and sisters in Christ
-
have been off on this trend of canceling service.
-
And I'm not there, judge, but I wonder what Jesus
-
would say.
-
If Jesus was alive today, he would probably say to us,
-
it is true that you do.
-
Not know the exact day of the moment in time
-
of my birth. You know my birth year. That's reason
-
enough to celebrate. It is true. It is true that
-
you don't know all things because you're not God. But
-
somebody should have been careful when.
-
The corporate giants began to commercialize Christmas.
-
And got you all so busy working, some busy going
-
from point A to point B, an empty in your
-
purses and pocket books and bank accounts.
-
They got you so busy that you forgot and failed
-
to worship Me.
-
And I wonder how.
-
Many people will just say the name Jesus, read the
-
Christmas story in the second chapter of the Beloved Position's Gospel,
-
and say, we've done our duty this Christmas.
-
That's called being religious.
-
But I want to ask us this question, have we
-
worshiped him today? These wise men, they endeavored to seek
-
him out, and they saw opportunity to worship him. And
-
that's what we're doing here today. It's not to be
-
the church that had Christmas service.
-
Only it's not to be the church that refuses to
-
come and celebrate on the day that we celebrate his birthday.
-
Only that we're the church, as the spirit of Martha
-
would demand, that we want to do him service and
-
pay respect back unto him and do our best to
-
be hospitable. But we want to come in here and
-
worship him in the spirit of Marry. So God is
-
a spirit, and they that worship him must worship.
-
Him in spirit and in truth.
-
So Christmas is the time of year when we and
-
other Christians celebrate the very foundation of our religion, the
-
virgin birth of Jesus. Are we celebrating? Are we celebrating?
-
But the Jesse he testified along them lines about a
-
week ago, it blessed my soul.
-
I want to celebrate Christmas.
-
And the best way to celebrate Christmas is not by
-
offering a freshly baked apple pie to my neighbor.
-
That is a good way. That is a way to
-
do it in the spirit of Martha.
-
But the the best way is to set them presents down,
-
walk away from that Christmas tree.
-
Tell friends and family just give me a little while.
-
I'll be back in an hour and a half.
-
But I have to go to church in my casual
-
a tower because I've been celebrating and I've been dousy.
-
You know what Jesus was looking for. He was looking
-
for Mary to come in there and worship him, And
-
then when he realized it was only her in there,
-
he'd begin to ask the question, where is Mary? You
-
know what he was looking for for that washboard mama
-
to come in there with that apron on that was
-
saturated with oil and flower and do and spices, cinnamon, swilling,
-
apron right and worship hill.
-
Worship pill. Worship pill.
-
That's the word that I've had on my heart today,
-
worship pill meaning, don't get so busy that you've failed
-
a worship pill, Martha. Don't get so busy that you
-
create an atmosphere that is not condcent for worship. That's
-
what's happening. That is what's happening in our world today.
-
Corporate giants within America and worldwide have figured out kind
-
of get people so busy and so occupied doing this
-
or that. It is true that Christmas can be full
-
of culture. Christmas is full of culture for most Americans
-
and for most people world wide. They have their traditions.
-
Brother Tyler could say, I would like to implement in
-
my family tradition that of eating roasted duck. Several years ago,
-
sister Howell implemented into our family tradition of having prime rib.
-
That's what had her uptight today. She got everything done,
-
but got the prime rib in the oven. Everything but
-
got the prime rib in the oven. And so she said,
-
I wonder if.
-
They will be willing to wait. I know they're gonna
-
be hungry. I wonder if they'll be okay with that.
-
And that's your first lady. She is to be respected.
-
Nor am I tearing down your respect.
-
For her, or no am I trying to make you
-
think less of her. But if she gets in the spirit,
-
she worshiped God, and her children get in the spirit
-
and they worship God.
-
The metha hole in the church.
-
Family getting the spirit, worship God and get in connection
-
with God, they ain't gonna be anybody and to build
-
worried about prime rib. There won't be anybody in the
-
building asking the question did you preheat the oven the
-
five hundred they just sliding in there for an hour
-
to get the eighth of an inch thick crust on it,
-
or do you have it in the second phase where
-
it's doing the last hour cooking.
-
There won't be anybody thinking about prime rib. In fact,
-
when you really get in.
-
The spirit of God in such a way that you
-
get blessed and He gets blessed, you forget about your
-
traditions of roasted dunk and prime rib, apple pie, oh,
-
come on now, and pumpkin pie. I thank God that
-
Christmas is a time full of culture, but it also
-
should be a time of worship, a time of celebration,
-
praise the load.
-
Christmas can be a time of community.
-
I preach recently of the community surrounding Christmas, concerning Mary
-
and Elizabeth and how they came together and how.
-
They drew confirmation and assurance from one another. And there's
-
a lot of you. You've been busy.
-
Already today with friends and family, and you're gonna be busy.
-
That's why you're in the building in your casual attire.
-
That's why I'm in the building in my casual attire.
-
Christmas is a time of community. I thank God for
-
people coming together, Mary, Martha and last Risk.
-
They came together by the water buttonrth.
-
Do you know what? They didn't come together to eat
-
only that was one of the reasons. But that was
-
not the primary reason and the primary reason we gather
-
together today. It's not primarrib It is the worship hill
-
the primary You see, we can all get very busy,
-
and we can all face the temptation up.
-
Wouldn't it be better to not have Christmas service because
-
we have so much going on.
-
I don't think playing a few Christmas carols at Christmas
-
is enough. I don't think that equates to us worshiping
-
him and my scholar and sister how well this morning.
-
Absolutely not. I'm trying to tell you how easy it
-
is for each and every one of us to get
-
too busy. And Jesus told Martha, he said, you're cumbered
-
about so much doing.
-
He didn't condemn what she was doing.
-
You can't find in the Word of God where there
-
was any condemnation in the activities of the day. You
-
cannot find where Jesus cited any failure in her preparation
-
or in her product. But what you can find is
-
where Jesus found fault with her stopping in the midst
-
of her busyness to worship him. Jesus, though this seems
-
our FITSI to some and it's got that special tradition.
-
I don't need to be in church. I need to
-
finish putting the glazon on my fruitcake.
-
I don't need to be in church. I need to
-
put the whipped cream on that cherry pie. I don't
-
need to be in church. I need to put the
-
bones on my grandchildren's plansy. I don't need to be
-
in church on Christmas I'm too busy. Jesus didn't find.
-
Fault with community. Jesus didn't find fault with culture. But
-
what he did find fault was the lack of consecration,
-
the commitment and crowning. And that's what the Lord put
-
on my heart this morning. Christians should take time to
-
crown him king of kings and lord and lords.
-
And I want to tell you these.
-
Kings from the Orient, there is no doubt they were busy.
-
And sometimes you have to put the ladle down, sister.
-
Sometimes you have to set the crowns aside. Wise men,
-
sometimes you have to turn the timperature down on that smoker.
-
Men of God.
-
Oh come on now.
-
I want to preach, but I'm gonna try to keep
-
it short because I know you got to get back
-
to family. Christmas should be a time of consecration, commitment,
-
and crowning.
-
There is no doubt Martha was committed to community, she
-
was committed to culture, but she was not committed to crowning.
-
And I know that the Eastern culture is quite the culture,
-
and I know that the Eastern community is quite the community.
-
But these men stopped whatever it was they were doing
-
in order to follow His star and their purpose was
-
clear to Herod or Joseph and Mary. Their purpose was
-
Verse number two said Herod, we come to worship him.
-
We've come to worship him, And then into the eleventh
-
verse they did worship him. It's one thing to say,
-
I love my God so much.
-
I read the Christmas story before we open presents. I
-
played a few Christmas carols by charismatic worship leaders.
-
I thought about Jesus for about five minutes. I've got a.
-
Major problem with men and women canceling church on Sunday period.
-
It's Jesus' birthday. Why would somebody not show up to
-
the birthday party? What's celebrating Jesus' birthday? Why would someone
-
not want to show up to the birthday party? These
-
wise men were committed to crowning him key, and I
-
want us to stand. We'll be dismissed here momentarily. Forget
-
about that car that needs to be assembled, forget about
-
the batteries in the little cars that need to be charged,
-
forget about the pies that need to be sliced and.
-
The cats that need to be cut. And I want
-
us to worship him.
-
And it's an indictment to our brothers and sisters in
-
these blessed United States that they got so busy that
-
they could set aside an hour.
-
Or an hour and a half this midweek.
-
And consecrations in commitment and in crowning.
-
Him, kid and kids and Lord of lords.
-
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord.
-
The cause to celebrate it works the most wonderful moment
-
in time.
-
Not everybody feels like it's the most wonderful time of
-
the year, because some have lost revels, some aren't able
-
to buy the gifts.
-
That they wanted to buy, some have unexpected They found
-
it to be a time of great loss and a
-
great sorrows. For the birth of the Messiah is truly
-
the most wonderful moment in time. And I got to say,
-
craze be the Jesus, thank God for the Brds and birth.
-
Every Christmas.
-
He about us very Christmas, forrey you is born this
-
day in the city have day and a.
-
Savior which is Christ alone, which is Christ.
-
Lord.
-
Hell of.
-
A hone, Yes that you, yes for you.
-
Will you take some time alosity him always asking boys
-
an hour for an hour and a half hot about
-
Christmas celebration.
-
He is the sinner piece of Christmas. He is the
-
sexual theme of Christmas.
-
Let me too busy to praise he. That's it, brother,
-
that's it. That's I just can up here on the
-
court for a moment and worship him. Now, God, he
-
is a spirit, and they.
-
Even worship him. Must worship him, his spirit and their truth.
-
Praise God.
-
I'm thankful for the blessed babies. Or listen, I'm also
-
thank you for the crust of bad class, the houses.
-
I thankful for the old acusive sacrifice that he paid
-
as put.
-
In the family set this morning. He knew what he
-
was facing. Yeah, for the joy of the sycophomium.
-
He idused the cross despas and the same. Do you
-
think you could set us out some town to worship
-
him
