-
the fifth verse.
-
I will say, it's wonderful to be in the house
-
of the Lord with you all tonight.
-
We're thankful for the wait the Lord is blessing and
-
health of the vest of Holderness Church and all of
-
our brothers and sisters that are part of our church family.
-
God is truly doing something wonderful amongst our friends and family.
-
I'm thankful for that. Praise the Lord.
-
I appreciate every testimony that was given tonight. I thank
-
you for the prayers you pray for Sister.
-
Howell and I throughout the years.
-
I'm thankful that you're burying your brother's burdens. We appreciate it.
-
My brother Jesse, John of chapter number three, Versus number
-
ten and chapter number four and verse number one, the
-
last verse of chapter number three and the first verse
-
of chapter number four. Brother Nathaniel Joe chapter number two
-
and verse number nine, And beloved, we will be looking
-
at Philippians chapter number four and verse number five. Oh, yes,
-
that wonderful chapter in the Book of Philippians, the fourth chapter. Youah,
-
brother Jesse, Joah Champion number three, verse number ten, and
-
first number one of chapter four.
-
Would you read that, brother.
-
If God saw their words, that they turned from their
-
evil way, and God repented of the evil that he
-
had said that he would do unto them, and he
-
did it not, but it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and.
-
He was very angry.
-
Amen, how many of you are thankful that the Lord
-
has never tainted his testimony? I want to preach a
-
message the Holy Ghost title, don't taint your testimony. Brother
-
Nathaniel Job, chapter number two and verse number nine.
-
Then said his wife unto him, dost thou still retain
-
that integrity? Curse God and die.
-
Job's wife was willing to allow her testimony to become tainted,
-
but Job refuse to allow his testimony to be attainted.
-
Let's stand Philippians, Chapter number four, verse number five. I
-
will try to bring this verse to your attention tonight
-
and preach on it as the Lord leads. I don't
-
know that I've ever heard anyone teach or preach on this.
-
Particular verse of the Bible.
-
So I need your prayers.
-
The Bible said, let your moderation be known unto all men.
-
The Lord is at hand. May we pray, Heavenly Father,
-
we love and we praise you. We thank you for
-
your goodness, We thank you for your mercy. I thank
-
you for the opportunity to be in your house tonight.
-
I prayed that.
-
You would help this thy servants, set a guard at
-
my mouth and help me to say the things that
-
you would have me to say, nothing more or less.
-
An DearS with this thy people, that they might hear
-
what the spare God says unto the church tonight, for
-
they have open years. I know they do, and they're
-
willing to listen to hearken into heed.
-
I thank you for that.
-
Lord.
-
I pray that you would help us to demark this place.
-
Joe Colin, not sorrowfully in Jesus' name in the church,
-
said Amen, as you're being seated, look at your neighbor
-
and say, hey, neighbor, don't tain't your testimony. Our text
-
is found in a New Testament book of the Holy Bible.
-
This book is a Pauline epistle. Most present tonight or
-
quite familiar with how this mighty work for the Lord
-
Jesus begin in that part of the world.
-
Those of you that read your.
-
Bible, you will remember that the Apostle Paul was visited
-
by a man particular, perhaps an angelic being or an
-
actual person in the region of Macedonia, and.
-
The Apostle Paul received a Macedonian call, and when he
-
went into this area, he found a group of wonderful,
-
god fearing, godly women that were having prayer meeting down
-
by the riverside. Down by the river side, a beautiful
-
thing began. God gave these precious sisters a wonderful man
-
of God to help guide them to that celestial city Heaven.
-
Could you imagine the feeling that they felt when they
-
realized none other than the Great Apostle Paul have been
-
chosen by God to come and help them specifically. Sister
-
Wooton approached this poolpit this past Sunday night spoke to
-
me for about seven minutes. I don't know how long
-
it's been since she has required that much of my
-
time after a service, but I enjoyed every second of it,
-
Brother Jesse, she said, with tears flowing down her face.
-
Face and a trembling voice.
-
She said, Pastor, to be honest with you, I do
-
not know where I would be tonight if it had.
-
Not been for you obeying the Lord eighteen years ago
-
and coming down here and preaching to me. I'm telling
-
you she spent at least six or seven minutes crying,
-
Sister Howell, seemingly uncontrollably, and praising the Lord for what
-
God did for her.
-
She said, I so.
-
Desperately needed a holiness church with holiness people and a
-
holiness pastor, and God hurting my prayer and granted that request.
-
Are y'all feeling what I'm a feeling right now?
-
Can you imagine with that Greek woman Lydia, who had
-
converted from Paganism to Judaism, realized that the Apostle Paul
-
was present to present salvation and Christianity to them and
-
lead and guide them into perfection. Oh brother, oh cap
-
I'm sure a lot of the saints of Philippi were
-
thankful for a God that could speak to old men and.
-
Young men through dreams and visions.
-
I'm sure they were thankful that there was a spiritual
-
man whose heartbeat was beating because of God, and it
-
was beating for them, Brother Nathaniel. Apostle Paul received that
-
vision while he was in the city of True ass
-
and over the years, I'm sure there were a lot
-
of testimonies given about that particular moment in his life.
-
I preached a whole lot about this god fearing woman,
-
Lydia over the years. In fact, Lisa Byrd approached me
-
one time and she said, Pastor, you ought to write
-
a book on the woman of Lydia and the church
-
at Philippie. Truly, this woman was a blessing to the
-
people of her area, and she's also.
-
Been a blessing to me over the years.
-
I had found it to be a blessing to study
-
behind the life of this wonderful woman of God. And
-
the Apostle Paul and his fellow laborer's brother Samuel Howell,
-
they too were blessed by this precious saint of God.
-
You will remember one particular time when Lydia and the
-
saints at the Church of philip Pie wrapped a special
-
offering up and sent it by the hand of Eperditis
-
to Apostle Paul while he was in prison and a
-
Roman prison and sister Howell ed returned.
-
The Apostle Paul.
-
Gave the Philippian church this Pauline epistle. Again, this is
-
a Pauline epistle written from a Roman prison after they
-
sent a gift or a love opera to the Apostle Paul.
-
He recippocated with this wonderful Pauline epistle four chapters. You're
-
looking at him right now, some of you are flipping
-
through the pages of this book of the Bible, and
-
this is Apostle Paul's gift.
-
To the Church at Philippi. The affection that Paul had
-
for the saints of Philippi was no secret then, nor
-
is it now.
-
For this afternoon, and reading through these four chapters, I
-
found numerous evidences of his affection for these people in
-
this area.
-
The feelings were mutual. They loved Paul, and Paul loved
-
with him.
-
The Church of Philippi supported Paul in many different ways,
-
most importantly prayerfully and financially. They gave to him through
-
their courier brother Epidotus, and Paul reciprocated affectionately with this
-
Pauline epistle.
-
Or a letter.
-
One of the favorite chapters in this Bible of many
-
people in this building.
-
Tonight is the fourth chapter of Philippians. There's several scriptures
-
in this chapter that many present.
-
Tonight can recite. Since the how as a.
-
Young man I begin to memorize the most of this
-
fourth chapter of this book.
-
We could talk about the fourth chapter in the fourth.
-
Verse of this book, where it says, rejoice in the
-
Lord alway, and again.
-
I say rejoice. A lot of you could quote.
-
The Philympians chapter number four, verse number eight, and chapter
-
number four and verse number thirteen.
-
Say it with me. I could do all things true Christ.
-
Which strengtheneth me, Not who strengtheneth me, but which strengtheneth me. Philympians,
-
chapter number four, Verse number nineteen is a scripture that
-
many people can quote. And there's many others in this
-
particular chapter. But let's add one to that list of favorites.
-
Tonight shall with this fifth verse of very many people
-
over looks, mister Howell, you were the first lady here
-
at the Bethel Holiness Church, and I dare say that
-
you have. I have no idea whatsoever that particular verse means.
-
If you look at that fifth verse, it says, let
-
your moderation be known unto all men.
-
The Lord is at hand.
-
How many of you know the definition of that word
-
of moderation.
-
Before you raise your hand and before you answer me,
-
you need to hold off.
-
I looked at the definition of that word. It is
-
one of the most debated words in all of the
-
Sacred rip and sixty six books in the Bible. That
-
particular word is one of the most debated words.
-
Concerned its definition.
-
I believe the Lord has helped me understand a little
-
bit about that particular word. It can mean a witness,
-
it can mean testimony. Let your moderation be known before all.
-
Let your gentleness be known before all. Let your forgiveness
-
be known before all. Let your patience, though undeserving.
-
Be known before all.
-
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord
-
is at hand this versus telling the church people to
-
fill the power the Pentecostal and Holiness people of many
-
different generations and those.
-
That are members of the Fiftal Holiness.
-
Church to allow the spirit to be gentle to all people,
-
no matter what you're going through. Come on now, It's
-
telling us to be gentle to all people at all times,
-
no matter what we as individuals are going through.
-
Paul is telling every believer that the Holy.
-
Garst will require a Christian to possess a characteristic that
-
is gentle.
-
And fair to and one.
-
Because the Lord is literally standing beside the Christian, notice
-
the latter part of that fifth versa, the Lord is
-
at hand. This is not speaking concerning the coming of
-
the Lord. No, it is speaking that the Lord is
-
literally right beside you at all times, in the same.
-
Way that he is standing.
-
Or sitting next to the right hand of the Father.
-
You, as a Christian, you can testify that.
-
The Lord is with you all way. He said he
-
would go with you all way, and that's reason enough
-
to rejoice. Oh way, let me ask us a question
-
here tonight, when circumstances.
-
Change and what flows out of.
-
Your character or you like a coat father, all shook up.
-
And ready to spew.
-
Out, and whenever something doesn't go your way. When you
-
notice the author of this epistle, you have to kind of.
-
Repel back and think a little bit.
-
About who it is that is putting pen in department
-
and sending this message out. This is a man that
-
practices what he preaches. Sister Howell, you'll notice who wrote
-
to let your moderation be known unto all men of.
-
God figured it out yet, Paul said.
-
Paul wrote that by the Jesse, and it's our golden
-
text here tonight. When you back up to that post
-
just before go in text and said rejoice in the
-
Lord all way.
-
And again I say rejoice.
-
So these people knew who it was that had heard
-
from God, and.
-
Who it was that had showed up on.
-
Their front doorsteps, so to speak, and who it was
-
that preached to them and helped them plant that church
-
and get things started there concerning.
-
Their church family.
-
Since the who he was no strange or whatsoever to
-
these people. And they knew who wrote the letter? Do
-
you know those of labor among you? The Bible said
-
that you ought to know those individuals and intimate of
-
a special way before you get to intertwired when they get.
-
Too involved with you.
-
These people knew that Paul knew them. They knew paula
-
as good as Ruth and the love of position knew him.
-
They knew Paul is good a Silas knew him. He said,
-
what does this happen to do with me? What in
-
the word are you preaching about tonight?
-
Listen?
-
They knew that when Paul came to fill Upie, that
-
it was Paul that had been in.
-
Prisoned for obeying the Lord.
-
There's a lot of people they would have regretted answering
-
the Macedonian Carter, they would have regretted developing a princeship
-
with Lydia and the other believers. Apostle Paul poured back
-
the sweat and tears into this church family, into these individuals,
-
and they knew he was currently in prison in Rome.
-
They are sitting there, prodde us with a care package,
-
if you would, and they're looking at the letter and
-
they realize this fam was not only imprison in Rome,
-
he was in prison.
-
Right here in our land.
-
And pack of miny a sermon he has been preached about.
-
Child that's been preached about Paul insidea at the midnight hour,
-
having prayer, meeting and singing songs. You wont where they
-
being bad and fill the pie. They did it after preaching.
-
They did it after pie in the church, after trying
-
to hit somebody like an Irish Newton, they went to
-
hell and hell the hell they'll.
-
Come on now. I'm trying to preach to you here tonight.
-
I'm asking you why in the world when you see
-
all their people and they are pushing on and they
-
are preserving her, They're all salvation. Look here and trembling there,
-
They're preserving hem. They're on salvation to the power of
-
the Holy Girls.
-
How can you come to church and tain't you a testimony?
-
How can you stand outside with a sign in your head,
-
with a frown on your pace, walk in the herd?
-
He's going on in your life to cause you.
-
To take your testimony and run to the.
-
Last the dying Lord. You ain't been to be blacking
-
blue to day for their meeting.
-
It at mean, not hour, I'm telling you, Apostle Paul.
-
He said, records don't Then he.
-
Said, doty a line that test the moon it to be.
-
It's amazing to me how people can rejoice when all
-
the bills are paid, when they're getting new houses, when
-
they're getting new investment properties.
-
When they're getting paid raises, when their bank account is climbing.
-
On a daily basis, when they get a good report
-
from the family position, when Luke is saying to Paul, hey,
-
you're in good health, Apostle Paul's praying for everybody.
-
That they would be in good health and that they
-
would prosper even as their soul prosperous.
-
But if silence is looking at you, Paul, Lord and saying,
-
why or why would they beat the.
-
Man of God like that? Why or why.
-
Would they shut him up in the innermost part of
-
the prison. The Paul can say, rejoice, rejoice, What about
-
you right now?
-
If you lost your pastor to death?
-
What about you right now? If you lost your pastor
-
to the will of God we wing him somewhere else?
-
What about you right now? If your fouse drop dead?
-
What about you right now? If you're truk tad tomorrow?
-
What would your spouse food? What would your children do?
-
If you lost your job tomorrow? Would your moderation be
-
at head, which your check the spirit still be at head,
-
which a forgiven spirit still be at head?
-
Which your town spirit still be at hand?
-
Let me no wrong in in all day, get out
-
a situation. If you won't be contentment, it's not gonna
-
do a bit of good. If I preach a message
-
like this and we don't change, it's not gonna do
-
a bit of good.
-
If I preach a message like this and you don't answer.
-
We can condemn Eath.
-
And Rotate all we want to, after he's been rebooked
-
by the Lord. We can condemn Jordy Wallace all we
-
want to, after he's been repeeted by Lord.
-
But there have been other people in this building.
-
That have been repeats repeated that have you went back
-
and listened to the message?
-
Sleep proceeds? Are you still sitting in that pupil asleep?
-
Are you still not running around the church? Are you
-
still not praising God right there? Are you still not
-
looking up your mess rock a trumpet? Are you still
-
coming in the church and.
-
Everybody else in the head and wondering if your cat died,
-
wondering if you lost your job. Even when you're pasting,
-
it's supposed to be undisoldble and unrecognizable, even.
-
At for seeking God. There should be nobody knowing. It's
-
telling on me. I'll tell you so if I've been
-
notnosed with cancer today, who wouldn't have known it? How
-
to preach him? Black God preaching?
-
Now?
-
Listen, repeating party, it's not let Paul, what's an immercas too?
-
Then I'm telling you hear not? What's your moderation? And
-
knowing it been O meal right? Because the Lord here
-
is mearby.
-
Sister Howell said, she said that you know jes his
-
wife Hannah God on that peace Sunday morning.
-
I said, no, honey, God's blessed the quiry. It is
-
increased in numbers. I can't see past acquiry anymore, hard line,
-
making a habit of staring at the parishioners.
-
In the view, I'm making a habit of worship of God.
-
And let my moderation be on, Let my gentle.
-
Spirit be known, my patience be known, my forgiveness be known.
-
I know the world's done me wrong, but I forgive them.
-
I know my brother's done me wrong, but I forgive him.
-
I know my sister's done me wrong, but I forgive her.
-
Or no woman, I'm talking about church family that does
-
us wrong.
-
The customers may have done you wrong. The boss man
-
may have done you wrong.
-
When you're study this word moderation, it literally means you
-
were in a place when you could have brought somebody
-
to judgment.
-
By the letter of the law. You would have been
-
okay to do so.
-
But to step back, and you let mercy prevail, he says,
-
for son of Pie and exemplified in Jesus's handling on
-
a woman culture than the very actor.
-
Don't the little along and I gave him permission. The
-
stone are there.
-
He could have picked up the stone because he wants
-
to sinless one.
-
He asked everybody else have you seen h are you innocent?
-
And you know what? To walked away? But he could
-
have held it.
-
I'm perfects He could have held it there, perfect monciousness.
-
He could have held it a young lady. But he said,
-
kill me, Let's send them all. He didn't want to
-
slide back.
-
He never sin but he did little slide. I said
-
that had come on, not you know, holl revent to you,
-
but for you to sit there, but stand.
-
There, and my God, now these servants, what do you
-
mean to do if you don't change?
-
And we told Jordy Wallace changed, we told Heather road
-
Camp change. But brother each it ain't just your sign
-
of brother justice. And I've been preaching to you. There's
-
other people I've been preaching to you. There's some adults.
-
I've been preaching to you.
-
And Sister Howo saying, did you see Jesse's wife Hannah
-
come out up you and go up and down.
-
That center all?
-
I said, no, I did not.
-
She said, Sunday night, did you see Elizabeth run out
-
of the choir? I said no, I did not. She said,
-
they have responded to your preaching. They have responded that
-
in what God has told him to do.
-
Sister Tracy. I just say, if you never known about
-
God like you did three.
-
Or four weeks ago, your daughters could still be looking
-
at polling the souler and refuse it, to allow their
-
testimony to be untaken.
-
I want you to know, no matter what's.
-
Are going through, there's a little child. Look in the sea,
-
how you're connecting yourself. Get in the surface.
-
Don't come on now.
-
I can't tell you of one time that sister Cyril
-
Harrison Man has ever come in here. We a mad attitude.
-
They're a God spirit, and she's been a blessing of
-
my soul. The Apostle Paul said, let your moderation be
-
known unto all men.
-
Lets your patience, lets your forgiveness, let your gentleness, Let
-
your testimony of these such things.
-
Let it be evident, let it be shown, let it
-
be manifested, Let it be demonstrated.
-
And perhaps it's unlikely, but.
-
Perhaps there was one in that congregation, just like there
-
might be here, that he would clarify with a period
-
and in a short sentence, the Lord is at hand.
-
I hope you remember this fifth verse in the fourth
-
chapter of the Book of Philippians. Luck I do after this,
-
I hope. It's right there with I can do all
-
things through Christ. What strengthiness me?
-
Apostle Paul goes from the rejoice in the Lord allway,
-
and then he goals and basically says, don't let your
-
testimony retain it.
-
Amen.
-
When circumstances change, what flows out of your character?
-
When circumstances change, what flows out of your character? You
-
as an individual? Are you on your tiptoes tonight? And
-
then circumstances will change it tomorrow? Notice who wrote that,
-
let your moderation be known?
-
And to all men?
-
Oh, I feel like you're helping me here tonight. I
-
don't know that I'll be preaching much longer.
-
But Brother Nathaniel, these people remember their beginning as a
-
church family. They remember what the Apostle Paul went through himself.
-
Realize how much he has been willing to be spent.
-
They realized the murden that he carries, and they realize
-
how blessed they are.
-
Again.
-
They remember seeing Paul and Silas beaten with Roger and
-
Casta in the innermost prison.
-
They were a witness though to his joy. They were
-
a witness to his joy. There was nobody that was
-
a member of the Philippian Church having to send him
-
a letter to encourage him. Don't you backslide in jail?
-
Don't you back slid as you go through something. I
-
don't know why it's going to God have to go
-
through things, but they do.
-
Jud's wife got so diskoirtage as she went and told
-
Joe while to.
-
Go ahead and curse God and die. I know that
-
was a difficult spot for Job's wife to be in.
-
I sympathize with her ten caskets with.
-
Ten little babies in and ten young people, ten children,
-
you know what I mean.
-
And by in the tame you all, I know that
-
was hard to bear.
-
With her testimony, you hastainted recalled the fact that she
-
told Jose to curse God and die.
-
Lets me know she had probably already cursed God, and
-
she had already blamed God. How come I no matter
-
whether you're speaking or not her, your anxious needs louder.
-
They're your Lord, So you can blame God by your
-
refusal to praise him.
-
That all the time, My God, Paul knew, he knew,
-
they knew what I've been through it.
-
And brother Jesse, they knew what and he knew what
-
they had been to me, well, I want to preach,
-
and I feel like God's giving me some things the
-
same sister, how I want to say him just exactly
-
the way.
-
He would have me to say them.
-
Paul rejoiced in the midst of difficult circumstances. I said,
-
Paul rejoice in the midst of difficult circumstances.
-
While he was doing the will of God.
-
And something awful happened, while there was being obedient to
-
the heaven to call him.
-
Something offul happened, while.
-
He was responding to the Macedonian call, something happened.
-
What about Joonah?
-
Though in our co text, the Bible said that Jonah reluctantly.
-
Finely did what God told him to do, and after
-
he preached, he was such a great preacher.
-
After the city had repented in sack cloth and ashes,
-
and the Bible said God had mercy on them people.
-
The Bible said that Jonah pitched a fit. I'm telling you,
-
Jonah was upset because his people did not get what
-
was coming to them. They did not get what was
-
coming to them, and Jolah was not set about it.
-
And the end result is his testimony was tainted.
-
Oh come on, now, you ain't getting this.
-
What about the men that rudely shoved Paul and Silas
-
into the innermost part of the prison. What about those
-
that tried to slam their hands in their bron bars?
-
What about those that shackled them to the walls and
-
the floors of their prison?
-
Says?
-
What about it?
-
What about it?
-
Are going?
-
Ain't getting us? That's what the hole post has given
-
me right now.
-
That jailer that was responsible for some of that, after
-
that prison break, when the earthquake came and tore things apart,
-
when the lamps that went out, that prison guard that
-
was about to commit suicide, that prison guard that was
-
about to end this line. Apostle Paul that his federation
-
be known to every man in that house. And he
-
said to the Philippian trailer, Hey, hold on a minute, stop,
-
don't do any harm to yourself. Hey, come on, let
-
your childness bemoaned to all men. Let your forget a
-
spirit in mind to agen that's.
-
Your testing on it, to know the amen. That's your weakness.
-
You know a man that your likeness serve your Savior Jesus.
-
Oh come on now, Paul. He ran to lem and
-
the man ran to him. Then he said don't do
-
yourself any harm.
-
Oh, come on, there's some I know him personally that
-
they would have waited for the gunshot.
-
I know they didn't have a gun back then. They
-
would have.
-
Waited it for the sword.
-
The trol from the scabbard, and the body took a
-
collapser on the film, Oh what's in your heart here tonight?
-
What in the world to cause you to walk in
-
to the house of God hurting? The God put out
-
a smile that.
-
Your friends in as telling old, what's up of yours?
-
Do you thyself?
-
No harm?
-
I know of some holiness people that would probably kill
-
him in the darkness. He don't know up from down
-
Right now, I'll draw this sword out of his almost
-
cabbage and sled us through the Bible, said mercy rejoices
-
against judgment. Who are you preaching to right now? I'll
-
tell you about six and the seventy five? Who are
-
you preaching to right now? I'll tell you about six
-
of the seventy five.
-
I need to say it again, who are you preaching
-
to right now? About six? How to the seventy five
-
and everyone of them from a family.
-
I'm preaching this of people right now. Hey, your gentleness
-
ought to be known no matter what you're going through.
-
Your forgiveness ought to be known, your compassion, your kindness.
-
Jonah got angry when he saw ninabouts had repented and
-
escaped the wrath and the judgment of Almighty God. I
-
don't know about Chaull, but I'm glad that brother Jordan
-
has been trying to praise some things through. I'm glad
-
that brother Ethan has decided he's not going to cater
-
to the whims.
-
Of the speed demon anymore. I thank God for that.
-
Then the Bible, said Jonah.
-
When he realized people escaped wrath and damnation, it displeased
-
him exceedingly, and he was very angry. After he witnessed
-
the gentleness of a forgiving and a loving God. Jonah
-
told the Lord, I knew that you are gracious. I
-
knew that you were merciful. I knew that you're sla
-
ain't there. I knew that you're a great kindness up
-
goes on Jona's words.
-
So he knew that about his father.
-
I said, he'd knew that talk about his father, and
-
these people knew that about Paul.
-
It doesn't matter her if.
-
He was standing up or a ship, calling upon that
-
it didn't matter how to heep he spit up there
-
and nodding the deeper. He didn't matter if he was
-
in the Philippian jailor or rolling person up. He's gonna
-
have the jailor to the Lord because without a talk,
-
he's gonna have one straight talk with this death versus Papa.
-
Let your gentleness be known.
-
To all men.
-
Jonah didn't handle it well. One things did go his way.
-
My pastor dropped dead while he was preaching. How would
-
you handle that?
-
Right?
-
I can tell you this, my gods, Jesse, you ever
-
seen me drop dead, preacher? It won't be because of
-
God's fault. My chest is killing me right now. I
-
keep checking my left arm our. Brother Nathaniel, I want
-
you to know it won't be God's fault if I
-
drop dead right now. I've never hurt now my chest
-
while I preached, but I did Sunday morning, and I
-
am right now.
-
But if I had not had told you, you would
-
have never known.
-
And concerning about fifty of you, you're no more in
-
the spirit to desert it to know to pray for me.
-
I don't know I can fill my heart race or
-
put your hand there. I don't need no penny. I'm
-
trying to tell you a lot. You can go through
-
things sometimes. I don't know that that's a pending heart attack.
-
I don't know if that's a stroke at hand. It
-
just might be a bad case of heart burn. I
-
don't know what it is. But brother, just say, right
-
now we're having church.
-
Right now, we're in the house of God, and there's
-
nothing in the world whatsoever to bleame God, for God
-
has been goody And that's what Joab said. The Lord
-
givet and the Lord taketh away. Listen be the name
-
of the Lord. I'm here to ask you that. Now,
-
whose attitude do you possess? Joab's wife son or chops
-
Choam said, though he's sleeping.
-
Yet, will I serve him?
-
How about what a second doesn't go your way? What
-
a thing? Don't you enough the way you thought they would? Enough?
-
Are you gonna just curse God? And now are you
-
gonna go sit under the one left that wady.
-
For God and distress somebody here? I'm trying to help
-
your head and out.
-
Why won't you standing there beside a highway, let's go
-
a caromory of pay said.
-
Why would't you try to advertise Jesus I said with Nasa,
-
have a smile now, don't come on now and a
-
cost man that come mother does for the people.
-
Listen, world, No, I got my solc on. I'm telling
-
you here and not tell me. Do you sleep with
-
the nos? No, angel I s if you aren't got
-
loving everybody, do not come now. He's a jack daughter.
-
He's good of coughing as you better as nothing. I
-
feel the holy ghost sit in this place. Sweet, Why
-
my god, Jorny are you serious right now? Johnny?
-
Are you serious right now? You knew he's a kind god.
-
You knew he's a gentle god. You knew he's a
-
compassionate god. And you knew when you preaching.
-
Okay, God, Jordy.
-
Watterson, do right ethan he do right, says the charity,
-
do right, brother, area that don't prove and do better.
-
Yeah, that's right.
-
That's why we're preaching. So people that ain't doing it
-
right to learn to do right.
-
So the people that haven't had good attitudes to develop
-
good intention till you, God have been matter could become back.
-
Oh I thought a holy girl sitting this place in
-
a mighty way. Let your moderation be known, and all one.
-
The Lord is and hand. The Lord is at hand.
-
Come on her, mother, Jesse, The Lord is at hand.
-
Say I'm gonna stare. Look at that picture on photocircle.
-
That your dad or mama took.
-
That is an indictment to you as an individual, as
-
a preacher. One of the most sorrowful looks I've ever
-
seen on a person's face is on your face.
-
Look at the picture above it, sister, Stare. It's just
-
a smiling and she's a beaman. That's the same thing
-
I see on other people's faces.
-
Hitting this building tonight.
-
There's some smiling, there's some beaming for the most part.
-
About seventy of your arm. Then there's fiber six of you.
-
If that fats humility, that's fibers.
-
Six of you trying to act like you're so definded.
-
That's fiber six of you out of the time of
-
sing every day of the week or whatever.
-
It is, reviewing it condives you.
-
It's a you need to come to the hazard God
-
and let that testimony be entertained. Because the laird is
-
a hat apostle. Pause of the lid is a here
-
the parment of Philippians.
-
The madre is a here if I'm in a Roman
-
prison X. The lad is a care if every dods
-
has got sick and the man's going to be delivered later.
-
The lad is a gods in the word, he is
-
a lad if the goods they meant well. He brought
-
that care package to the apostle park Lydya of the
-
Saillar of Purple. This is just jeremy house imagination.
-
She probably had a nice little handkerchief in there, some
-
personal effect, since Elizabeth, you made that for your husband,
-
Philip Howell. Nice handkerchief. The Lord is at hand. Silar
-
Purple might have sent him a little purple cough or
-
something to remember her by, because she don't know what
-
the outcome is gonna be.
-
And Uh Paul gave him this wonderful epistol that we're
-
preaching out of here tonight. Rejoice. Let that break your heart,
-
lets you lets you a soulcle man and soaking it. Hey,
-
he's in a prison house.
-
Oh my god, oh brother Jesse, I want to preach
-
right here in this corner because it feels pretty good
-
right over here. But right now, oh thank God for
-
the healing virtue of you. Know, helping us care who
-
right here?
-
The Lord is at hand, The Lord is a hard The.
-
Lord is nearby.
-
This canouflags captain was nearby. Oh, Lord son supposing to
-
be a rock. Moses said that was cost Son supposed
-
to have been a rock.
-
And David said that was Christ will come on.
-
I'm telling you, if you're standing on the street side,
-
you have a smile over your face, and you will cross.
-
Has anybody ever seen anybody and you tell us without
-
a smile? And I call that queer? Look you, I
-
call that strange.
-
I call that weird.
-
I call that a no.
-
Somebody told me recently that a celebrity chef got old
-
of somebody for sit through his entire broadcast with a
-
frown on her face.
-
I need to look it up.
-
They said he got on with somebody pro sent through
-
his entire broadcast with a sour expression on their face.
-
I thought, my god, what if I started calling him out.
-
Because he knew he wasn't good for listening. He knew
-
it wasn't good for the kindness. The Lord is at hand.
-
If your daddy's dying with a heart attack after preaching,
-
the Lord's at hand, if that would love and have
-
me get better.
-
I'd asked him to let me buy a law I'm preaching,
-
Oh y'all, not my bother.
-
Holding out of my sort.
-
Time I sacked my sort.
-
Time I'd asked him not to let me die skin
-
of bones in a cancer ward.
-
Sister, whom you told me you've asked him nothing, lets
-
you die out of your my hand. Oh y'all, ain't fell.
-
I went on my family, because what's.
-
It going in this place as a lesson that you
-
don't got the holy ghost? You ain't got the holy ghost?
-
You can get it in the service tonight. Rejoice in
-
the Lord all the way. And again I say that.
-
Choice he raped.
-
And what happened was when Aphroditis got there, he got
-
sick with the battle said he got sick. Brother Nathaniel
-
Aphraditas was excited about taking good news back to Philippi
-
and jaygra taking good news back to Lydia from Paul,
-
and it gets dog sick whatever that means, dog sick,
-
And finally he gets.
-
Better and they get the letter. Hey, come on now, I'm.
-
Sure apostle Paul snapped his fingers and don't I can't
-
believe this.
-
I'm in prison and my buddy Effie is dog sick.
-
Then we're trying to get some good news to Idio.
-
Then we say I finally get sent. Oh, Aphrodita says
-
here it is Mama, here, it is mother?
-
Here is wrong?
-
I got what we all want him? And what did
-
he say? I can do all things through Christ?
-
What sweetes bath?
-
I can't into so yes, cite, who is this streaking
-
the usual?
-
I can't be.
-
Gentil Oh yes, cita, I can't be forgiven.
-
Oh yes, sit here, I can't be capacity. Don't not
-
sit here, hol y'all'll be more tied to yourself. I
-
said that to be more kind. Don't forgive it to yourself.
-
Sweet now on God, I'll feel the love this house.
-
Are you saying you're going I'm preaching?
-
I don't know, but I may So what.
-
So what.
-
If Samuel was crying because I heard him borning my death?
-
So what God's goods? Didn't it cross my mind.
-
That he was moorning my death? That God let me
-
hear him mourning? Yeah, because I won't hear anybody moren
-
my death. And I wondered had to because of the
-
severity of his mourning? Was he mourning my death, that
-
God let me look into the future. I feel the
-
Holy Good sent this pot.
-
He God.
-
I don't sit there and panic and pound about pray
-
about it. This ain't no time to panic, This ain't
-
no time to pout. It said, no time for penny,
-
It's time to dray. I thought, as Christians, we believed
-
a prayer changes things. I thought, Christians we believe prayer
-
prolongs life. I thought, as Christians, we believe prayer raises
-
it is. I thought, as Christians, we believe prayer cures
-
cantion or cause or Paul.
-
Believed in what he was preaching about, and that's what
-
these people knew. He's been drugged in to.
-
Prison, he's been black and blue. He practices what he preaches.
-
I'm telling some of you here and now it's about
-
time you start practicing what you're preaching.
-
What a penniful case it is for Joan to say,
-
you're gracious, you're kind, you're forgiving, you're loving.
-
Sweet, I'm a still feeling.
-
It's just a strong.
-
What you gonna do when there is nobody to preach
-
you like you're feeling right now, Paul handle things well
-
when circumstances change, When things took a turn for the
-
worse in his ministry.
-
Sister weep.
-
You go ahead, and you don't want to hold back
-
for me. It's decent in order to worship and praise God.
-
It'll be fine with me for the hole he gets
-
to take over this message. I'm gonna say it again.
-
Would you have been gentle with the jailer who would
-
imprison you? Would you be joyful that you witnessed that conversion?
-
Or would you be quit to say?
-
Man, you gave me a story. Right there?
-
Oo, Jesus Christ is standing right there next to your sister.
-
Who he's standing right there next to you?
-
Brother?
-
Justin the Lord isn't him?
-
But you know what stood out to me this evening
-
while praying in my office, God said, it's true.
-
I'm nearby.
-
He said.
-
Also, their family's nearby, He said, their spouses nearby, and
-
their children nearby.
-
I don't want to be one.
-
Of them people that people have to walk on eggshells
-
when they're around me. Jesus was gentle. Jesus had the
-
fruit of the spirit is gentleness.
-
Sake it to the last. I believe Jesus was gentle.
-
When you overturned the tables of the money changers, and
-
to seek to them that sold to us.
-
He was gentle, He went as a lamb to the slaughter.
-
He had a gentle spirit.
-
One of the things that is required for a pastor
-
of bishop of deacon is to have that kind of spirit.
-
Compassionate forgiveness, gentle, not a brawler, not soone that be
-
about to walk on eggshells when they're around, not worried
-
that daddy's reaching a holler, not worried to bonuswitching and
-
provoked the.
-
Children under breath.
-
Don't with.
-
What I'm saying is and we haven't done this.
-
If we are careful, will crucify Geordy and will stone Ethis.
-
I told brother Ethan yesterday before he left work, I said,
-
moa yard tomorrow morning.
-
First thing. He's a young man.
-
What has he got to do?
-
How could he be busy?
-
Fifteen sixteen years old? Three thirty today? With everything I
-
got going on, God brought it to my attention. I
-
was driving sister. How witness it happened? God spoke to
-
him and said, Becky's yard didn't get done today. I'll
-
mess his brother Ethan, And I knew I had saw
-
the pictures I had sought confirmation that was completed asist
-
the wood.
-
And I said, Ethan, you get the yard done with nothing.
-
Hardly going on in his life, with hooleness and grass,
-
no wife to take care of, no children are raised,
-
no bills to pay, hardly to speak of, compared to
-
what you are going through, basically with nothing on his mind.
-
Really he failed me.
-
Now, a lot of people that weren't gentle in spirit,
-
they'd have looked for a reason to firing, terminating.
-
Their real color.
-
Would have come out right then when a preacher preaches
-
holiness and he deals with hypocrites and spirits that nobody
-
knows is under the surface, and he's bold as a lie,
-
and Jesus comes in, or Paul comes in, where John
-
comes in.
-
When they act.
-
According to the Holy Ghost, with holy boldness and reprimand
-
the hyphracrit and the hypocrite that is not indicative of
-
them lacking a a gentle spirit. A gentle spirit reveals
-
itself in times like this afternoon. I message him and
-
I quote, I said, it's okay, buddy, sometimes we forget things.
-
Get it first thing in the morning. And then he
-
come back, said, Pastor, I'll go do it right now,
-
a non gentle spirit would have said, no, you forgot,
-
You ain't got a job. Just how do you have
-
a bottle of lotion in your person? Does anybody got
-
a bottle of lotion?
-
And feel the way?
-
Go speaking to me here and walking up down? I
-
see this right here, Jurgen's lotion.
-
What you really are is known by what comes out
-
of your bottle when it squeezed.
-
Brother Jesse, I'm sorry, I hold your hand down. Let's
-
see what's in here. Looks like Jergon's Lotionen to me,
-
let me smell it. Yep, that smells like your mama's hands.
-
If God squeezes you tomorrow, what comes out?
-
Right?
-
I said, If God squeezes your bottle tomorrow, what comes out?
-
I won't say it once morning?
-
If God squeezes your bottle tomorrow, what will come out?
-
Sister who when God squeeze join us bottle? Bitterness?
-
He said, it's very angry. It came out.
-
When the Lord squeeze Job's bottle. He said, when it
-
tries me, I shall come forth as gold. Sister woot
-
and I watched it that morning your husband died. She
-
didn't curse God or charge God foolishly.
-
She kissed him.
-
And sent him away, Sister Heaven, I watched him. My
-
brother Duke shocked us both and left before we were ready.
-
I said, God, where's she at? He says, she's in
-
ards home. She buried him on the other side of
-
the cemetery, but says to How, I can tell you
-
it's true. I drove right up on her clear on
-
the other side. I feel the presence of gone in
-
this place tonight. I don't know what it's gonna take
-
to keep you from taking your testimony, but it is
-
no testimony to a lost in dye world.
-
To go to the job with a.
-
Frown on your face for people out to be walking
-
around on egg shells, because you're like a ticket time
-
bomb just ready to go off.
-
The howl.
-
Children know nothing of being nervous to come in our house,
-
no matter what they've done.
-
It was a home of discipline. It was a home
-
of correction.
-
The sister how and up to the state, we've tried
-
not to tain our testimony. Let your borrow being known
-
to all men. I hope everyone feels that you handle
-
things well, says to How. No, I didn't see Jesse's
-
wife Obany God. No, I didn't see Philip's wife.
-
Obay God. But I'll tell you this, Malack, I sold
-
your wife. Obay God, a you have felt your wife
-
or a bat. But beyond that, when they ran, the
-
Lord ran with them.
-
What do you have to run about that your soul's
-
not in hell? What do you have to shout about
-
that your name's written in the lamb book.
-
Along to it?
-
When God squeezes you, what comes out? I'll tell you,
-
no matter what you're going through, when he squeezes you,
-
you ought to say, well, glory, how they leave you?
-
Brother Nathaniel, I've felt strown treasures of the Holy Ghost
-
here at all.
-
You see, Brother Roquat. When we get squeezed, it reveals
-
what's inside.
-
Our greatest witness to others comes not when everything is
-
going our way. Our greatest witness comes when they see
-
that our world has fallen apart.
-
Joe two and nine, how are you still clinging to
-
your witness?
-
And testable?
-
As she's saying, why don't you just go.
-
Ahead and curse God and die? And Joe knew, Brother
-
Jeremiah know God's nearby. Job k new My children are dead,
-
but my wife is still nearby? Are you prophesying you're
-
gonna die while preaching?
-
I hope?
-
So?
-
Is it gonna happen tonight?
-
I doubt it?
-
Is it gonna happen this year?
-
I doubt it?
-
Could it?
-
Sure?
-
I could dine in at a car accident too.
-
What would be a better testimony for you, Jeremiah at
-
Israe you papa died and head on collision or your
-
papa die want preaching?
-
But what I am prophesigning preaching is about you.
-
I gave you an example of what I was going
-
through while preaching, and I just chose to tell you.
-
But what I am prophesied is if you don't stop
-
taking your testimony, if them sleep proceeds.
-
Don't come out of the pack and get planning.
-
And if you don't start coming out of that you
-
and obeying the Lord and took a smile onto the
-
face of praising the Lord and worship of God.
-
I don't know what's gonna happen, because I knew.
-
That message, Brother Jesse, preach wasn't only for brother Geordian,
-
Brother Ethan. It was for some of us other Oneths,
-
including Miss Rebecca Howard. And you're waiting on me right
-
now to say something up. So I preach probably for
-
an hour and five minutes. And we've been at just
-
long enough to know these altars were open. We've been
-
at just lone enough to know Pastor's got a burden tonight.
-
And there's a reason I'm preaching on old Tantard testimony.
-
I've heard people say, as long as anything's going good,
-
I'll serve the Lord.
-
But as soon as things gonna go my way, I'm
-
gonna blame God. It's somebody looking for a whal Listen,
-
cut up.
-
I see, I gotta hide, funk.
-
Shine down.
-
I got a I got gota forky coutt the most
-
shot down, I kin eat most.
-
I got the hide.
-
I say to you, rejoice. And again I say, rejoice.
-
But why do you not rejoice?
-
You know it's to your strength. It's not older to
-
praise me, or to glorify me, or to lift up
-
my name or to exalt me. It is your strength.
-
It's necessary for your survival that you rejoice.
-
And I say, others are watching, not only those outside
-
of this church, but those inside. And they know and
-
you know.
-
But I say, I am near, And I said, and
-
you have offended me.
-
I take not.
-
You have offended me, says.
-
When you consider the circumstances and the conditions and others
-
in our opinions, you take your testimony. It's terrible. Don't
-
taint your testimony.
-
You come too far.
-
You've come too far. You come too far.
-
Oh my, what have you do it?
-
Right now? With me fertaining my testimony? I haven't let
-
my mother should be all into my bed. I haven't
-
had a general.
-
Spirit outside of church. I haven't had a general spirit
-
when going through difficult circumstances. I have a forgiving spirit, compassion.
-
I had been having enjoyed that.
-
Now it's a good time to start repent it. I
-
ask God to forgive you. I know this message is respecting.
-
I know that.
-
Let it be evident to all men. Let your moderation
-
should be older.
-
And let every little boy, every little girl, your employers,
-
your co workers, the waiter and the waitress, the baker,
-
car washington, the funeral home director, O God, the shaff
-
of the cook, the road construction worker.
-
Let your gentle spirit be benifested. Be gentle, be gentle,
-
be gentle. Let's pray a water to my.
-
