Amen. Don't you appreciate the Lord tonight. Amen. I sure
-
have felt the Lord in this service.
-
I appreciate the messages amen, that we've heard so far,
-
don't you Amen.
-
I believe that God is right here with us. Amen.
-
He hadn't he hadn't forsaken us. Amen. He didn't forsake them. Amen.
-
They locked the self up, but he didn't forsake them.
-
He knew where they was. Amen. Bless God. I appreciate
-
the Lord.
-
Amen.
-
Missing our pastor again, Amen, has already been said. Second Samuel,
-
chapter number six, Second Samuel, chapter number six, Amen, I'm
-
looking forward to what God's gonna do.
-
Amen.
-
This is a very very familiar scripture here. Second Samuel,
-
chapter number three were six. I'm sorry verse number three.
-
Let's read two verses. And they set the Ark of
-
God upon a new cart and brought it out of
-
the house of a Benedab that was in Gibbia, and
-
Uzza in Ohio. The sons of a Benedab drave the cart,
-
and they brought it out of the house of Abinadab,
-
which was at gibbea accompanying the Ark of God, and
-
Ohio went before the ark. Look at verse number ten
-
with me ten and eleven. So David would not remove
-
the ark of the Lord unto him into the city
-
of David. But David carried it aside into the house
-
of obed Edom. The get tight and the ark of
-
the Lord continued in the house of obed Edom. The
-
get tight three months, and the Lord blessed obed Edom.
-
And all his household was your.
-
Raise your hands towards Heaven, and now's the Lord to
-
help us for just a few minutes tonight. God, we
-
thank you for your goodness and mercy. We thank you
-
for your spirit that we have been made to feel
-
thus far. God, we ask here for just a little
-
space of grace. God, that you would touch us. God,
-
that you would heal us, Lord and give us strength
-
and give us words and wisdom. I pray, God, would
-
you let the annoining of the power of God fall
-
in this place and help us tonight. God, We'll be
-
sure to give you the glory in the art of
-
the praise. And we pray in the wonderful, lovely name
-
of Jesus. Amen and Amen, Amen. This little thought came
-
to me, Amen, on the on the way home from
-
work this evening, and I wasn't really sure why, Amen,
-
But I just got excited about studying it. When I
-
got home, I had a few minutes extra, Amen, before
-
we come to church. So I sat down and I
-
started studying a little bit. And now on the way
-
to church tonight, it all made sense.
-
Amen.
-
Why I felt that way because I because Pastor had
-
the emergency and had to leave, so he texted us Amen,
-
to be ready for just a few minutes tonight.
-
So it all made sense. Amen.
-
In God's perfect plan, Amen, just diposals fell in in
-
place there the puzzle pieces, Amen, And I appreciate what
-
God has done. Our text here that we read tonight's
-
a very familiar portion of scripture.
-
We first we first.
-
Read of the ark of God being in the house
-
of a man named of Benadab that's found in the
-
first section of vers Is that we read there in
-
chapter number six, verse number three and four. This man
-
here is the same man that we read of in
-
the first chapter of Samuel, verse number sixteen. I mean
-
the first book of Samuel, chapter number sixteen and verse eight,
-
when the man of God, Samuel was looking for the
-
future king of Israel, and he goes to the house
-
of Jesse and he looks at all the brothers of David.
-
He's looking for King David, the chosen one of God.
-
And you read there that David has a brother named Benedab.
-
This is the same man. Amen. This is the brother
-
of David. This is the brother of the king.
-
This man of Benedab is the older brother of King David.
-
Amen. So the ark of.
-
God rested in the house of David's older brother.
-
Amen.
-
And we all know that the power of God, in
-
the Ark of God, the spirit of God blessed.
-
Amen.
-
Wherever it was, if they were in a battle, the
-
ark prevailed.
-
Amen.
-
If they were if it was in the house of someone,
-
that house would flourish and amen. And the Ark of
-
God just touched everything it was around, and it just
-
and it just helped everything and everyone.
-
That was around it. Amen.
-
So the Ark of God has been here in the
-
house of a Benedab for for us for between twenty
-
and forty years, Amen, depending on how you interpret scriptures.
-
Amen.
-
So, so the the the ark of God has been
-
here in the brother, in the the house of David's
-
brother for many years.
-
Amen.
-
In Verse number three of our texts were introduced to
-
the nephew of King David. We are introduced to two
-
of King David's nephews. The name of the one is
-
Ohio and the name of the second is us A.
-
Amen.
-
So what I what I realized here is, at some
-
point in the life of a Benedab he opened up
-
his house.
-
Amen. He he opened up his heart. Amen.
-
He opened up his his his where he's lived at
-
to the spirit of God. And he opened up his
-
house to the Ark of God. And the Ark of
-
God stayed there for many years, and one day David
-
decides to bring it back to Jerusalem. The Ark of God,
-
the Ark of God was tooken there.
-
Amen.
-
But by whenever it's Saul, before Saul was king, Amen.
-
And when David becomes king there and we all were
-
not gonna get into all the the the the the.
-
Woes of the of the palace there. Amen.
-
But whenever David becomes king, he gets excited and he says,
-
I'm gonna bring the art back. I'm gonna go back,
-
and I'm gonna go get the Ark of God, and
-
I'm gonna bring it back to Jerusalem.
-
Amen.
-
I'm gonna go to my big brother's house and I'm
-
gonna pick it up and we're gonna bring it there.
-
And along the way there.
-
We read in verse number six about the tragic death
-
of uz Them we read about the tragic death of
-
King David's nephew. Whenever the oxen was pulling the ark
-
of God on the new cart, the arc began to shake,
-
and Uza so foolishly reaches.
-
His hand up to steady the arc. Amen.
-
And when he did that, God took a fense to it. Amen,
-
and he smote him dead.
-
Amen.
-
So so what they did here in that in that
-
in that situation, Amen, we read there in verse number
-
number ten, David would not remove the ark of the
-
Lord into the.
-
City of David. Amen.
-
So David carries it aside to the house of Old
-
bed Edam. David here was a little bit displeased, and
-
he was a little bit upset with what had happened.
-
Amen the Bible. So the Bible said there that he
-
was afraid Amen, the Lord that day. Verse number eight
-
says David was displeased because the Lord had made a
-
breach upon us.
-
So David wasn't too happy.
-
About the fact that that of Uza had had a
-
had sacrificed his life.
-
Amen.
-
And so David turns aside, and he takes it to
-
the house of oh bed Adam there, and David leaves
-
the ark of God there, and O beed Eaden, with
-
arms wide open, welcomes the ark of God. You don't
-
want it, David, Well, I'll take it right here. I
-
kind of wonder if he had seen throughout the history,
-
throughout the years, if he had seen the blessings of
-
God upon the house of a Benadeb. He had heard
-
the stories about the great victories that they had won
-
when the Ark of God would enter into the camp Amen,
-
and their enemies would fall before them. So I wondered
-
if o beed Aedom really kind of understood the benefit
-
that this could have on.
-
Him and his family. Amen.
-
So oh beed Aedom just opens up his arms and
-
he says, I'll take it, hey, you can set it
-
right here. I'll make a place for it. I'll make
-
a place for the power of God. I'll make a
-
place for the spirit of God in my life and
-
in my house. Amen.
-
O bet Edam had the right out of it. Amen.
-
Some people don't want to make room for what God wants. Amen.
-
Some people don't want to make room for the spirit
-
of God. Some people don't want to make room.
-
For the power of God.
-
But oh, beed Adam said, I'll take you right here.
-
I'll take the power of God. I'll take the ark
-
of God. And I wanna be like obed Edom. Amen,
-
I want to make room in my heart. I want
-
to make room in my life for the spirit of God.
-
Amen.
-
I think it would all do us a lot of
-
good if we would take the attitude of obed Edom
-
there and say I'll make room. I don't know what
-
obed Edom had to move around, Amen, I don't know
-
what furniture he had to move around. I don't know
-
if he built a new structure for it or what.
-
But obed Adam said, I don't care what the cost is.
-
I don't care what I have to do. I'm gonna
-
get the power of.
-
God in my life. Amen.
-
There should be nothing in our lives worth more than
-
the power of God. There should be nothing in our
-
lives that we were sacrificed having the Spirit of God
-
in our lives and in our families. Amen, we must
-
make room for the spirit of God. We must make
-
room for the Ark of God.
-
Amen. You can read there in Scripture.
-
First number eleven that the ark of the Lord continued
-
in the house of obed Edom. The gets tight for
-
three months, and the Lord blessed obed Edom in all
-
of his household.
-
Amen. Obed Edom's whole house.
-
Amen was blessed, and they were benefited to cause Daddy
-
Amen made sure that he had room for the power
-
of God.
-
Amen.
-
They were blessed because Daddy felt like it was a
-
priority to bring the spirit of God into the life.
-
Amen. There's a lot of respons pssibility.
-
On us as parents, Amen, for these little ones that
-
are coming around us. Amen, to make sure that, no
-
matter what the cost is, no matter what it takes,
-
us to make room for God. Amen, to make room
-
for the spirit of God.
-
Amen.
-
Our children are blessed when we make a habitation for
-
the spirit of God.
-
Amen.
-
We read there in verse number three and four that
-
ben Adab. I don't think he wanted to get rid
-
of the arc. I don't think that he was calling David.
-
Amen.
-
I know it would have been a messager on horseback,
-
I know, Amen, but I don't think he was messaging
-
David and saying, hey, you want to come get this thing.
-
I'm about tired of it being here taking up place
-
of ben Adab. I really don't think that he was
-
just looking for an opportunity to push the Ark of
-
God on someone else.
-
Amen.
-
But the truth is, baby brother, the king said, I'm
-
coming to get the ark.
-
I'm coming to get the power of God. Amen. I've
-
come in to get the ark of the Covenant. Amen.
-
So David there goes and gets it.
-
And I was, I was, I was gonna bewildered, and
-
I was amazed here.
-
Amen.
-
I really don't think it was a Benadab's desire to
-
lose the power of God.
-
I don't think it was. What a ben Adab really
-
wanted to do was to usher the spirit of God
-
out of his life.
-
But I was really just just taken back whenever I
-
realized that as soon as a Bitadab lost.
-
The ark of God.
-
Us I had grew up around the ark of God
-
and had never fell to that trap. As a grew
-
up around the spirit of God, and he had never
-
laid his hand on it. But as soon as a
-
Benadab loses the ark of God, as soon as the
-
ark of God exits the life of a Benadath, then
-
tragedy struck a Benadaf family.
-
A Benadaf's son was struck dead. That tells me.
-
We can't afford to lose the power of God in
-
our lives. Our children can't afford for daddy and Mama
-
to let the spirit of God leave their house. I
-
wonder what would have happened if a ben Adad would
-
have said, if you're taking the York, then I'm going
-
with it. Amen, I'm gonna keep it in my house.
-
Amen.
-
We cannot afford to let anything. We can't afford to
-
let anything take the place of the spirit of God
-
in our lives. Our children, Amen, are depending on us.
-
Oh.
-
Ben Eden was blessed when he received the power of
-
God when he made room for the spirit of God.
-
And a ben Adev's family, they faced tragedy when they.
-
Lost the power of God. Amen.
-
We cannot afford Amen, nothing. Nothing is worth losing the
-
power of God. Nothing is worth Jesus being in the midst.
-
Amen. Nothing in our life.
-
We should let nothing come between us and the power
-
of God.
-
Amen. At all costs, let us make sure we've made
-
a place like o bed eten. Amen. I want to
-
say this for a while. There For three.
-
Months, Dyvid went back to the king's palace there, and
-
he acted like he just forgot about it, and he
-
put it in the back of his mind, and he said,
-
I'm just I'm gonna leave it right there.
-
Hey, it was at a.
-
Been the Dav's house for these many years, so I'm
-
just gonna leave it over there, though, obed edams and
-
and I'll just leave it over there. David didn't want
-
the art after the breach was made upon hussle. But
-
after three months, somebody came to David and said, Hey,
-
have you heard what's.
-
Going on down there?
-
Have you seen the power of God that's moving around
-
a'm atting in the family of obed Edom.
-
And David said, are you serious?
-
All that happened because obed Edom made root for the
-
power of God. All of that happened because somebody felt
-
like it was necessary to do whatever it could to
-
make sure the power of God found a place in
-
their lives life.
-
Amen.
-
Whenever David saw the blessing, he realized he realized the
-
importance of having the spirit of God. Amen, of having
-
the power of God. You know, the Ark of the
-
Covenant represents the spirit of God.
-
Amen. At Wreck represented the power of Almighty God. Amen.
-
Oh Bet Edam felt like whatever he needed to do
-
to make room for the art was necessary.
-
Amen. And I hope we have some parents in this
-
house tonight. Amen.
-
That would say, I recognize the necessity of having the
-
power of God, and I recognize the necessity of the
-
power of God being available for my children to be blessed.
-
Amen. I can't afford to be like a bit of down. Amen.
-
Let's stand this evening. I can't afford my children us.
-
I can't afford for the power.
-
Of God to leave.
-
Them little babies. They can't afford for Daddy and Mama
-
to lose the power.
-
Amen. The responsibility is on us in a lot of ways,
-
especially when they're young. Amen.
-
Once they get older, Amen, then God would deal with them.
-
But it's still mama and Daddy's responsibility that they have
-
access Amen to the power of God. And I want
-
to make sure that all costs, no matter what it
-
would take, Amen, that I make sure that my children.
-
Find room for the power of God in their lives. Amen.
-
Let's pray the Sebring if you feel like pray him. Amen.
-
Let's just make sure that we've made room. Amen. Let's
-
just make sure that those little ones around us.
-
Amen, will have access to the power Amen in the
-
spirit of God.
