Me to the Book of Second Kings. May I direct
-
your attention to chapter number four. We'll be reading verses
-
number one through seven as our selected scriptures for tonight,
-
Brother Nathaniel Matthew chapter number twenty five, verses number seven
-
through twelve, and Brother Jesse Isaiah chapter number one through
-
verse number nineteen. I appreciated the testifying of everybody that
-
testified tonight. I appreciated Brother Caleb Brokecap and Sister Charity
-
Howell singing with such an anointing, Brother Nathaniel Matthew, chapter
-
number twenty five, verses number seven through twelve. Brother.
-
Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps, and
-
the foolish set under the wives, give us of your
-
old fur lamps are going out. But the wise answered,
-
saying not so, lest there not be enough for us
-
and you. But gogie rather to them that sell and
-
buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the
-
bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with
-
him to the marriage, and the door was shut. Afterward
-
came also the virgin, saying, Lord Lord, open to us.
-
Buddy answered and said barely, I said to you, I
-
know you not did y'all notice that phrase. And the
-
door was shut. And the door was shut, brother Jesse Isaiah,
-
chapter number one and verse number nineteen.
-
Brother, if ye be willing and obedient, you shall eat
-
the good of the land. I believe, if somebody will
-
be obedient to what the spirit of God says tonight,
-
you will eat of the good of the land. That's
-
what the woman in our golden text needed was a blessing,
-
a miracle. Let's stand for the reading of our golden texts.
-
Will read only verses number four, five, and six of
-
Second King's Chapter number four. The Bible says, and when
-
thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon
-
thee and upon thee sons, and shall pour out into
-
all those vessels, And thou shalt set aside that which
-
is full. So she went from him and shut the
-
door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the
-
vessels to her, and she poured out. And it came
-
to pass when the vessels were full, that she set
-
into the sun, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said,
-
unto her, there is not a vessel more. And the
-
oil stayed looking at verse number four. The words of
-
the Great prophet Elijah. And when thou art come in,
-
thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons.
-
I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled hey,
-
you better close the door on distractions. May we pray,
-
Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank
-
you for the opportunity to be in your house. We
-
pray that you would anoint this thy people, set a
-
guard at their ears, and help them to hear what
-
the spirit of God says into the church tonight of
-
your word, not of my words. God, open unto us
-
the scriptures as you did for the husband and wife
-
on the road. A mais I pray God that you
-
would anoint this I servant, set a guard at my mouth,
-
and help me to say the things that you would
-
have me to say. Nothing more or less. I pray
-
that these sayings would saturate our soul and spirit. Let
-
them go below the shoulders, don't let them just be
-
in the head. Only God, help us to get what
-
it is you're saying. And may we depart this place
-
joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus name. In the church
-
said Hey, man, as you're being seated again, we will
-
read verse number four of Second Kings, chapter number four.
-
And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the
-
door upon thee and upon thy sons, and thou shalt
-
pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set
-
aside that which is full. Look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor,
-
you better close that door. Our text is found in
-
an Old Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book
-
of Second Kings is another book of the Bible which
-
is chalk full of content for the minister who desires
-
to be a blessing to others by helping them build
-
their most holy faith. And you can build your most
-
holy faith by hearing the word of God preached and
-
by praying in the spirit. And I appreciate we have
-
seen both of those things accomplished. In tonight's service. We
-
witness Brother Nathaniel preaching as anointed by the Holy Ghost.
-
We witnessed him reading of the blessed Word of God.
-
I have seen the Saints of God pray in the
-
spirit of Sister Charity. How one Brother Caleb rodecap let
-
Us in song. And there is no doubt that God
-
kissed this service with his approval and manifested his blessings
-
upon this people. And I'm so thankful that you can
-
say you're such a peace that witnesses the manifestations of
-
the spirit of God. There's a lot of you in
-
this building who received the Holy Ghost in the last
-
three years. And I'll tell you one of the reasons
-
for the reception of the Holy Ghost was at some
-
point you managed to shut out many distractions in your life.
-
There is no doubt that the Apostle Paul lived in
-
perilous times. I feel like we as well live in
-
perilous times. I know that the Apostle Peter said that
-
we should save ourself from the perverted generation. He worded
-
it this way, save yourself, preserve yourself from the untoward generation.
-
And the people of God are serving God in spirit
-
and in truth. They are that church has been founded
-
by God. I'm thankful for everything God is doing for
-
God's people. But you know, I've been a witness that
-
the devil is doing everything he can to wear out
-
the people of God. And one of the things he's
-
doing to wear out the people of God is getting
-
them busy watching of the things that are going on
-
in this world. There's so much going on, it's easy
-
to be dangerously distracted. And brother, would I believe that
-
if we will build up our most holy faith by
-
praying in the Holy Ghost and reading the Word of God,
-
we can keep ourselves from the distractions of the devil
-
without question. These Bible characters before us tonight were people
-
that were definitely focused upon what it is God would
-
have them to do. It was this morning, very early.
-
Sister faith Robe Cap was working for Sister Howel and
-
I and they're at our business. She began to clean
-
one of my offices, and she also cleaned Brother Samuel
-
Howell's barbershop. And at some point she sends us to
-
how text and said that in a recent service, God
-
convicted her of listening to contemporary music, and she said
-
she purged her playlist, and she said she didn't want
-
anything whatsoever, whatever it could be, and for her, she
-
felt like it would be just a few songs of
-
the contemporary music persuasion that would keep her distracted from
-
receiving whatever it was the Lord had for her in
-
the upcoming days. And as sence, that were her words,
-
I don't want to miss out on anything that God
-
has for me. By being distracted. And I remember a
-
particular camp meeting when a keynote speaker among the independent
-
holding this people was preaching, and most people felt like
-
he was really preaching good. In fact, a lot of
-
people were on their feet somewhere, putting their hands together
-
doing something with clapping. Others were smiling real big, Others
-
were nodding their heads and approval. Some were jumping up
-
and down, some were stomping their feet. He had the
-
cadence right, and he was preaching. The Holy Ghost atmosphere
-
seemingly was thick. But at some point he got dangerously
-
distracted as he was preaching, and he mocked the preachers
-
that preached against contemporary Christian music. For whatever reason, something
-
rose up in him. And I have heard the recording
-
of him doing that numerous times over the last fifteen years,
-
and every time I hear it, I cringe. First, I
-
get startled, and then I cringe because he mocks them
-
with a hill billy tone and with a country cracker voice.
-
He starts making fun of the way they would say
-
contemporary Christian music, and he starts saying something like this,
-
for those of you that preacher gifts to temporary music
-
he kind of stuck back in the days to temporary
-
music or however your country bumpkins say it, are you'll
-
listening to me here tonight. I knew right then that
-
some spirit had rose up in him that was sorely
-
displeasing the God. And I could tell that he had
-
lost some of his listeners in that moment. Maybe only
-
twenty five or thirty percent of the people disapproved of
-
his actions that night. But it was not long after
-
that his son came to him and he said, hey, Dad,
-
I'm not looking for a relationship with a woman. I
-
haven't called a name, but he said, I have discovered
-
my sexual orientation. And I made that discovery amongst the
-
independent Holiness people. I am a homosexual, and I hope
-
I find the lover of my life in another male.
-
And that young man walked out of the independent Holiness
-
churches and walked off of our great camp meeting platforms.
-
And he's had many male lovers. Men are the same sect?
-
Are y'all listening to people of the same section? And
-
there was some other scandalous thing that took place in
-
that particular minister's household. I'm not giving any names at all,
-
but what I want to tell you, is the devil
-
distracted that man somehow, right in the middle of a
-
wonderful message, while the Spirit of God was moving, he
-
felt it important to pick on some sincere people. But
-
I would like to ask such a minister tonight, how
-
did that work out for you choosing to listen to
-
contemporary Christian music? How did that work out for you
-
and your family choosing to use a camp meeting platform
-
and to preach against those who sincerely felt like God
-
had convicted them not to listen to that style of
-
Christian music. Oh, come on, now, we believe that the
-
characters before us here tonight are definitely God fearing people.
-
You have the great prophet Elisha named in our text,
-
and you also have the widow of a son of
-
a prophet. You've got somebody that knows exactly what it
-
is together with the people of God and to hear
-
what the Spirit of God is saying without distraction. I
-
believe that this woman went to the right person. She
-
went to somebody that was not a stranger to miracles
-
in his ministry. I want to ask you here tonight,
-
how many mentories have miracles in them? Today? I feel
-
like there are people in this building up, who have
-
experienced a miracle for yourself, or you have witnessed someone
-
else experience a miracle. If you're a Christian, a child
-
of God, you are a miracle. You are an embodied
-
a miracle right here tonight, Hey man, how many of
-
you remember the old song that Brian Free used to sing.
-
I believe it was titled the Greatest of All Miracles,
-
and the lyrics which something like this, the greatest of
-
all miracles were when of my Jesus has saved me.
-
You must admit tonight that if you are now a
-
child of God, you came to a place in your
-
life when you rid yourself from all distractions of every
-
degree and you focus on the Lord. That is how
-
you experienced that miracle. There is no doubt the natural
-
birth of a child is miraculous. The supernatural, spiritual burthen
-
of a child of God is even more so miraculous.
-
The great Pharisee Nicodemus would shout out in agreement with
-
a hearty hey man, and every child of God in
-
this place tonight up could shout out a hearty hey man.
-
It's a mystery to the world, but you know it
-
is a miracle. You, sir, and you ma'am, are a
-
product of an act of God. In verse number one
-
of Second King's Chapter number four, we find this man
-
of God and this woman of God's life seemingly coming
-
to a halt, becaulled of some creditors. How many of
-
you have ever had a creditor show up at your door?
-
You peep through the blinds and realized who it was
-
after reading their name tag and their badge. It made
-
you feel uncomfortable, did it not? If you owed a
-
debt that you were unwilling to pay or you did
-
not want to pay. When the creditors showed up at
-
your door, it made you feel terrible. You felt anxious,
-
very concerned, and very alarmed. Early this morning, somebody in
-
this building they messaged me and they said, Pastor, I
-
have received two phone calls from the CSI. What should
-
I do about it? They said, who is the CSI?
-
I said it could be a crime scene investigator. That
-
is not the answer that they wanted to hear. Immediately.
-
They were alarmed and concerned about why would a crime
-
scene investigator be calling me? And I said, you know what,
-
there's no reason at all for us to get anxious
-
or to worry about something that may not be nothing.
-
What you need to do is do your research and
-
find out who that is. If you have to place
-
a call, call them and find out what's going on,
-
there's no need to worry about it. Well, they picked
-
up their phone evidently, and they made a call and
-
found out that it came from Collection Services Incorporated. They
-
were very embarrassed. If they had been in my company,
-
I would say they would have been a red faced
-
And because they were admitting the creditors are after me, Yes,
-
you got it right. That is the inspiration for tonight's message.
-
I felt like God began to deal with my heart
-
about how we feel when the creditors come after us. Oh,
-
come on now, the greatest time in your life was
-
the time of your conversion for your salvation, when Jesus
-
stepped in in front of your creditor and pain of
-
bill that you were incapable of paying yourself. In this narrative,
-
the wife of a deceased man of God received word
-
that the creditor is in town, and in order to
-
settle the debt, her husband so graciously gifted and lefted
-
her wis her two sons, were chosen to satisfy the debt.
-
According to the creditor, these two young men would be
-
enough to satisfy the dead. If you know the story
-
of the elder brother and the younger brother, in the
-
narrative of the prodigal son, you would see that there
-
are a lot of things that two sons would be
-
capable of doing on the family farm or even on
-
a profet's estate. These young men must not have been
-
very old for brother Jesse, I feel like them if
-
they would have had any age at all about him,
-
they would have been working and making a living and
-
providing for their mother. But how many other brothers in
-
this building tonight to feel like you are a miracle?
-
How many of you brothers in this building tonight feel
-
like you're in need of a miracle. I feel like
-
there's somebody preaching to to night. I don't know the
-
name of your miracle, but one day you will give
-
it a name. I don't know if you need to
-
be cured of cancer, or you need God to meet
-
the need financially, or perhaps it's God to currenal failure
-
or the cured diabetes. I don't know the name of
-
your miracle, but you need a miracle, and the knocking
-
on the door by a creditor at one's house, and
-
is a run your finger through your hair kind of moment.
-
If you look at Bella Jacob here tonight, he doesn't
-
have a whole lot of hair on his head. It
-
seems to me like maybe that great Man of God
-
has had a few moments such as these, a few
-
of those run your fingers through the hair of your
-
head of moments when you don't know what you're gonna do.
-
If you'll notice, after the creditors come knock owner door,
-
she doesn't call a lone man. She doesn't call a lawyer.
-
She doesn't call Mama or daddy. She doesn't call an
-
actor or an uncle. She calls a man of God
-
for assistance. The wife of the sons of the Prophets
-
calls out to Elisha. You can't call out to just
-
any person. You can't call out on her just any
-
man of God. This woman was very familiar with the
-
prophets and the sons of the Prophets, but she wanted
-
a man like Elijah, and she reachs to his successor, Elisha.
-
Come on, now, the creditor. The creditor has come by
-
and plans to make some of your spiritual son slaves.
-
He plans to make her some of your spiritual sons
-
his property. What are you gonna do about it? How
-
does that sit with you? I've looked at some mammas
-
in this church and whose children are out them in
-
this world, and I can tell that they're not okay
-
with her child being the property of Satan. And I
-
want you all to know that this woman had a
-
problem with her sons, who are sons of a prophety,
-
becoming the property of Satan. And moms and dads we
-
would preach with the House of God more if we realize,
-
if we don't get them to the House of God,
-
to the Man of God and the people of God,
-
they will become the property Satan. A man, some moman
-
needs to tell the devil here tonight, you're not gonna
-
have my boy. Some moman needs to tell the devil,
-
you're not gonna have my children. Amen. So, after the
-
creditors walked away from her door with giving her the
-
information of what would satisfy the debt, she goes to
-
Elisha and she tells Elisha about her plight, her situation,
-
and brother Nathaniel Immediately, Elisha says, what shall I do
-
for thee, And then he goes on to say, tell
-
me what is in thine house? Sister Howell, her answer
-
was obvious. Her obvious answer would be I need one
-
of those miracles, and I need it now. I'm preaching
-
that somebody tonight. You haven't told me about your circumstances
-
and or your needs. Would I have felt it today?
-
You are in need of a miracle, no wonder the
-
Lord has been saying to you, seek me. I'm glad
-
some of you sought the Lord this past Sunday night
-
and again Monday. If your hatnah, we might have a
-
funeral this week, or two or three or four, you heard,
-
But the Philip say it was on Monday the next night,
-
after the Holy Girl spoken, after we did something about it,
-
after we sought the Lord the next night afterwards, and
-
they were almosty in a head on collision. This is
-
why we seek the Lord, and this is why we
-
gather in his house, and this is why we return
-
thanks when God has done something as good as this.
-
Sometimes we find ourselves in that calamit of situation. Sometimes
-
we find ourself in a time of great need. Look
-
at the next question, Elisha asked, So the first question
-
he asked was what shall I do for thee? He
-
realized this was not his moment to shine. This was
-
this woman's time of need. How many have you ever
-
seen them preachers that are so happy to be a
-
minister that when somebody goes through a tragedy it is
-
their moment to shine. All the preachers in this building
-
that have seen that, you know it makes you sick
-
to your stomach whenever they benefit from a tragedy intentionally.
-
I've heard people stand up behind the pool pit and
-
try to benefit from a tragic situation. This man of
-
God puts on her and he says, what can I
-
do for you? Then the next question is what hast
-
thou in the house? I'm sure peace look through the door.
-
He knows there's not a whole lot to in the house.
-
Tell me you've ever heard a preacher point this out?
-
He asked the question what is in nine house? If
-
you read the Nurtive, which is a true story, you
-
will see that there is nothing else in the house.
-
And she goes on to say, well, there's nothing in
-
the house save a part of her oil. She had
-
the right thing in the house and the road, things
-
that could be sold out of the house. And I
-
want you to know when you put something out on
-
the side of the road and you put a for
-
sale side on it and you get rid of it,
-
let it be gone now. Don't go to the neighbors
-
your tall and trying to buy it back. Ay man,
-
ay man. What's in nine house? Certainly not Netflix, Certainly
-
not Red Box. Certainly not a television. She is the
-
wi of a prophet. She's the widow of a prophet.
-
What is in nine house? You're asking God for a miracle?
-
Let me ask the question again while the crickets preach?
-
What is in nine house? What is on your playlist?
-
Oh my god? What is on your grocery list? What
-
is on your shopping list? What is on your things
-
to do list? What is it that's in your house?
-
Or what is it that you plan to bring into
-
your house? The Man of God said, I will walk
-
within my house with a perfect heart. I will set
-
no wicked thing before mine eyes. Oh thank God, Brother Thomas.
-
Character hearing this narrative, the true story does not given
-
a counter of her having the purds and her house
-
of wicked things. I'm telling somebody here tonight. If there's
-
a wicked thing in your house dangerously distracting you, then
-
you need to put it out of the house. So
-
cool you, Tella Maha. Let me get with something right
-
here for you, Amen, I need a Lord to help me.
-
Let me get with something right here for a minute.
-
Let me spin some wheels right here, right now, Brother
-
and sister, you need a miracle, correct absolutely, because God
-
has spoke to me that you do need a miracle.
-
You're in need of a miracle. What is it in
-
that house of yours? We're going to back up again.
-
What is it in that house of yours? He said?
-
Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that
-
does so easily beset us. Back to the narrative, the
-
true account of what took place. You can see it
-
right here. She didn't hesitate to tell the prophet what
-
was in the else. There's nothing in here save a
-
pot of all. She had got rid of everything else,
-
She had sold everything else, and still could not satisfy
-
the dent. That's it, it's all. I have a pot
-
of oil. That's it. That's all you need is a
-
pot of all. The greatest revival this church has had
-
took place a little over two and a half years ago.
-
And the theme of that spontaneous revival, which no outsider
-
or insider preacher, there was no traveling of angelis come by.
-
There was no in house preacher come by. The Holy
-
Ghost came by and we experienced a mighty out poured
-
of the Holy Ghost that changed the face of this
-
church and the theme mussa, I must have all. That's
-
what the Holy Ghost spoke to us that Sunday night.
-
And then the Holy Ghost moved then a mighty and
-
you know what happened Now, the sons of the prophet,
-
so the sons of the preachers, the sons of their
-
church people, the daughters of the church people, they went
-
home because we walked away with oil. I'm telling somebody
-
here tonight, you don't need what this world has got, Donah.
-
You don't need to be distracted by the daughters of
-
the land. Dinah. All you need is what's in the
-
house and of God and his most prized possession. He
-
is a pot of the boil. It's the good, sweet
-
spirit of God. Everything in the house, everyone in the house,
-
depended on what happened with the oil. Oh sweet Jesus,
-
the proper news. The miracle would need to be one
-
of multiplication. The miracle would need to be a miracle
-
a multiplication that the Lord was to multiply the oil,
-
she would need every canister and container she could find.
-
The more containers and canisters she had, the more jugs
-
she brought in, the more oil she would have the greatest,
-
the greater the measure of the miracle. The more oil,
-
the more money she would have to pay off her debts.
-
The most oil she could get in the house was
-
her number one priority. What about you? Do you need
-
more oil? And every single service when we gather Bethel,
-
I tell the Lord, what we need is more oil.
-
What we need is more spirit of God. Isaiah, chapter
-
number one and verse number nineteen says, if you be
-
willing and obedient, and shall you shall eat of the
-
good of the land. If you be willing, and if
-
you be obedient, ye shall eat of the good of
-
the land. Don't you think, sister faith rope Cap is
-
going to farewell because of purging her playlist? But not
-
everybody felt impressed to purge their playlists of contemporary music.
-
But what is it that God has asked you to
-
put out of your house, know ye not that your
-
body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. We often
-
come over here to purge God's house of snotty napkins
-
that people have used and left around the altar. Most Wednesdays,
-
Sister how and I'm make an appearance over here around
-
three point thirty, and we walk around in order to
-
purge God's house of things that would be somewhat offense
-
of things like snotty rags or just things that were
-
just laying around that were uncomely for visitors or for
-
church people to see. Nothing holy, no idolatry going on
-
around here. But we feel the need to clean up
-
the house of God. But you know what, not everybody
-
feels the need to be obedient to the things that
-
God has required of them to do. You go on
-
down to reverse number twenty of Isaiah, chapter number one.
-
They said, but if you refuse them and rebel, ye
-
shall be devoured with the sword. For the mouth of
-
the Lord has spoken at to him. What would have
-
happened if this woman had not have obeyed elcious mandate?
-
What if she had not of listened and obeyed the
-
words of the Man of God, Sister Howell, Verse number
-
twenty of the Book of Isaiah would be applicable. Somebody
-
would have devoured her two sons. They would have been
-
slaves or worse, perhaps the sword would have been trusting
-
to them and they would have been killed if she
-
rebel and didn't do what God had told her to do.
-
The truth is her greatest possessions were at stake. And
-
some of you don't seem to understand this. For some
-
of you that are still refusing to seek the Lord,
-
you don't seem to understand it. Young person, your greatest
-
possessions are at stake. Now we can fold up the
-
Bible right there and go to the house and just
-
let each choose what they want to do, obey or rebel.
-
But if you go tomorrow and just have no desire
-
whatsoever to seek the Lord, and you spend more time
-
on YouTube, I hope to God you ain't spending time
-
on TV or netflex movies, on YouTube, all this stuff,
-
and you go home and choose rather than listen to
-
some preaching or some gospel music, or to pray and
-
seek the Lord to read your Bible, you willingly choose
-
to refuse to obey the Lord. Your greatest possessions are
-
at stake. What's your greatest possessions of saund mind, your health,
-
your soul. If you gain the whole world lose your
-
own soul, what are your profited besides the oil in
-
the house. She's got two sons who probably in their
-
future will be hard working men. But she's got to
-
get them to their future. She's got to figure out
-
the way to sustain them till they get to their future,
-
until they're able to become hard working young men. The
-
Devil's got a plan for your children as much as
-
you do. You need the all of the holy ghost
-
in your house for your greatest possession's sake. If I
-
gain the whole world and lose my own soul, If
-
I gain the whole world and lose my own sons
-
and lose my own daughter, what am I profited? If
-
the creditor knocks on the door of my house, and
-
he will, you owe it that you can't pay. And
-
the only way you're gonna save your greatest possessions is
-
by having all in your lamp. Give me all in
-
my lamp, keep it burning, Give me all in my lamp,
-
I pray, give me all in my lap, keep it burning, burning, burning,
-
keep it burning till the break of day. Oh, sweet Jesus,
-
you're starting to get it. Your greatest possessions. That little
-
baby you're bouncing on your knee, That little girl that
-
wraps her arms around your neck, gives you a kiss
-
on the cheek Daddy before bed. That little boy, brother Jesse,
-
that can stand flat footed and jump up on the
-
coffee table. The devil's peeking in your window, and he
-
sees he got more than a pot of all. He
-
sees you got two sons that he can use. Sister
-
haw I Phil. It's sinking in. They're starting to get it. Now.
-
You must have all. You must have oil. Unlock the
-
foolest virgins. In Matthew twenty five, this woman would see
-
to it that she had more than enough oil, I said,
-
Unlock the foolish versins. In Matthew twenty five. This woman
-
would see to it that she had more than enough oil.
-
In Matthew twenty five and nine, I said. But the
-
wise virgins answered the fool ist, saying, not so lest
-
there be not enough for us and you. But go
-
ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves.
-
These wise virgins were willing to pay the price. And
-
these wise women were willing to not be distracted. They
-
needed oil, and the window in our text knew where
-
to get it because the prophet had told her, you
-
need to have plenty, and he told her how to
-
get it. All you need is an empty vessel, and
-
the vessel itself had to be purge of anything else
-
if you're gonna pour all lit it, and you know
-
how to get your miracle. You heard when God has said,
-
worshiped me in spirit, had in truth? You heard it
-
when God has said, be about in your religion, be
-
devoted and committed to the cause of Christ and to
-
worship him. You know when God has spoke to you
-
and said, lift up your boss like a trumpet, and
-
praise me greatly. You know when God has told you
-
to purge out that vessel and make room for the
-
earl of God. Too many people are dragon full containers
-
into the House of God. Every person that went into
-
the upper room was an empty vessel. Every person, whether
-
large or small, that walked up the steps and ended
-
up in the upper room on the day of Pentecost
-
was a hungry soul, had an empty vessel. How about
-
the container you brought in the building tonight. Sister Wooden
-
says it all the time. I quote, I'm a holy
-
ghost hog. If you don't want your puss, I will
-
have it. Are there any containers in the house? I wonder,
-
are there any containers in the house. I wonder if
-
somebody could produce some containers in the house. Oh better, Philip.
-
Whenever them sons and this woman went out of the
-
house in order to procure and secure containers that they
-
would bring in behind clothes and doors. And there is
-
no doubt they ran in to nosy neighbors. I'm sure
-
nosy Nelly was present, as well as Gossipe Gwyn and
-
dramatic Debra and problematic Peter and compromise a Camella. There
-
would have been a lot of people say, why do
-
you need this a vessall? And why do you need
-
that messhaw? Let me help you with your effort, Let
-
me help you with your labor. I noticed Elisha came by.
-
It seems like you're obeying him. It seems like you're
-
doing what he and God told you to do. That
-
brother Jesse in the midst of that conversation, in the
-
middle of that communication, they would have been distracted, and
-
that's what I'm telling you. You may have good intentions.
-
God may have gave you the order for the week.
-
God may have told you what you needed to do
-
for your miracle. But you make a phone call instead,
-
and you're ask an elder of another church what you
-
should do. Preacher, you call another a bandos or another
-
pastor and ask them what they should do, or you
-
ask them what they would do. Oh, come on, now,
-
I know you're tired of idah when I'm telling you,
-
even when you're doing the work of God and the
-
will of Kaida, if you're not careful, that communication and
-
that conversation will distract you from the will and the
-
word of God. And this brings us to our title
-
and our text. You close the door. I want you
-
to see this demonstrated, Brother Jesse. Brother Nathaniel's coming to
-
get a container. I need somebody to distract him from
-
getting that container. Meanwhile, Brother Philip is coming to get
-
a jug, and I need somebody to distract brother Philip
-
the second son. Did you notice the horizon. It's a
-
little bit gray. We're expecting a storm today. It's no
-
time to be out there in the streets collecting jugs.
-
My God in heaven. Well, I'm just gonna text this
-
person for a little while. One text turns into a
-
hundred I'm just gonna call this person for a minute.
-
One minute turns into two hundred minutes, or it turns
-
into ten phone calls. And then you didn't pray. Then
-
you didn't seek the Lord. You didn't get enough containers
-
in the house. I'm telling you, every time them boys
-
would show up with a container, Mama would say, you
-
need to get something else, because if we don't get enough,
-
holl at least one of you is gonna go. If
-
we don't get enough, at least one of you will
-
satisfy the debt. We ain't got one we need to lose.
-
We don't be need to be so distracted that we
-
miss one. We don't need to be so distracted as
-
a Holiness people that we lose one Holiness church. We
-
don't need to be so distracted as a Holiness family
-
that we lose one family member. Are you all with
-
me right now? Where's your mind at Dinnah? Are you
-
dangerously distracted by the daughters of this world? Where's your
-
mind that demus? Are you dangerously distracted by the young
-
men of this world? Well, look what's going on in
-
brother Samuel's barbershop. You better not look at what's going
-
on in brother Samuel's barbershop. He ain't none of your
-
business to start with. But secondly, if you don't get
-
them containers holding the mama, and if mama don't get
-
them behind closed doors, you're gonna be working for the creditor.
-
Some have you still haven't sought the Lord. Some of
-
you still haven't been getting this much. All as you can.
-
My preacher preaches with your knowing, and you say, oh,
-
how God moves, Oh have God bless us, Oh have
-
God restores? Oh how God feel? He raises the dead,
-
he cures catcher. But what about your miracle? What about
-
your experience? I'm telling you, the creditors come in? I said,
-
God said today the creditor is coming to collect. The
-
creditor is coming to collect. And you need every vessel
-
you can get in the house. And Elisha said, for
-
a reason, you better shut the door. Don't you let
-
the observers come in. Don't you let the commentators come in.
-
Don't you let the critics come in. Don't you let
-
the skeptics come in. Don't you let the watchers come in.
-
Nobody needs to watch you work. Nobody needs to criticize
-
your work. Nobody needs to judge your work. You don't
-
need no running by nobody else. Just bring the chugs
-
in the house and pour out the bottle into every juggle.
-
And you better find every jug you can because as
-
much oil as you get, it's as much money as
-
you get. You'll be able to pay the debt offer.
-
If you get enough oil, you'll have enough money. There's
-
a few people in this building tonight. They need to
-
learn how to close the door. You set out the
-
fast and then somebody calls and says, let's go out
-
for steak, and you know what you do. You're of
-
that persuasion. I'm gonna go out for steak and start
-
with fast tomorrow. You're running out all and you're running
-
out of time. I love that when we ask for
-
containers and canisters and jugs and bowls and jars. I
-
loved that Brother Samuel went and got the biggest barrel.
-
He literally got a fifty five gallon barrel and brought
-
it in this church house. While others brought little containers
-
that hold a few fluid ounces, Brother Samuel brought a
-
container that would hold a lot of fluid ounces. I
-
liked that I could hear Mama as she said, that's right, Faith,
-
get some personal convictions of you on and let them
-
be big enough. I guarantee you that little widow lady
-
had a small pot of oil, and some of those
-
vessels she poured into were small and had just what
-
be of little value. Don't bring me any more of them.
-
I need something bigger, because I got to pay for
-
your height. If this is all we got in this neighborhood,
-
we're in trouble. And that's what I want to ask
-
in this holiness movement. Have we got to the place
-
where all we have is little vessels? Somebody better close
-
the door of the prayer closet because God said, whenever
-
you go behind closed doors in that prayer closet and
-
you do what you need to do, God will reward
-
you openly. And that's what God was telling Elisha to
-
tell this woman. You close the door on doubton, Debbie,
-
you close the door on compromising Camella, are y'all with me?
-
And you need to have revival. You need to have
-
a person of revival. There's some of you I dare
-
to say, who don't have the holy ghosts have never
-
fasted three days? And when you do it, you have
-
to do it through humility and sincerity and honesty. God,
-
if I don't have a when the creditor comes again,
-
I'm gonna be found lacking. And according to Matthew twenty five,
-
brother chif Froy, when the bride groom came, I don't
-
want to be a bridesmaid. I want to be the bride.
-
Them five wives and five foolish were bridesmaids. But the
-
truth is they got to go in there. The wise did.
-
The foolish didn't. Why because they didn't have enough hold
-
in their vessels and they were out. I want to
-
tell you off something right now. If you ain't got
-
all on that great getting up morning and that was
-
going to secure your greatest possessions. And I haven't struggled
-
preaching in that, and I haven't missed it. But I
-
asked sister how recently, I said, you can see out
-
of the seventy to eighty. That's a best way every
-
service there's about sixty five. I'm telling you they just
-
soaring and riding on jet fuel, and you can tell
-
they have old in their vessel and old in the lamp.
-
And since the how when they get low they come
-
to service and they get their vessel in their lamp refilled.
-
But there's some running on empty. I have seen more
-
preachers in the Holiness movement Pentecostal movements nowadays preaching without
-
all in their vessel than I've ever seen before. It
-
is why they have been found guilty of plagiarism. It
-
is why they would waste precious people's time at a
-
youth camp and compare our preachers to nominal preachers. I'm
-
not interested in being unwise and comparing myself to others.
-
I need to compare myself to the bridegroom. And I
-
want to say something again, I don't want to be
-
a bride'smaid. I want to be the bride. But Brother Nathaniel,
-
we come to church and we say I brought a vessel,
-
and sister, how they didn't take the time to dump
-
out the worthless content of that vessel? Sister faith, But
-
what you told me your conviction is that contemporary music
-
isn't doing any good for you. I do know a
-
lot of them. Contemporary artists of contemporary music struggle with homosexuality.
-
I can understand why somebody would be convicted of contemporary
-
Christian music, But since the how some of them come
-
up to the altar with little vessels and they say,
-
fail me, Lord, and they barely pour out the contents
-
of what's in that vessel. Pride Preacher, if you spend
-
your time listening to oneness preachers and admire them so
-
much that you want to be like them and preach
-
like them, they have become your spiritual hero. When you
-
deem their material to be more fitting for trinitarian holiness people,
-
there's no doubt they are an idol and a hero
-
under you, preacher, And any holiness preacher that would plage
-
your eyes a oneness preacher while persecuting a oneness person
-
is a hypocrite. I can't trust. But the reason why
-
you had to plage your eyes another sermon material is
-
because you have no oil. Somebody's not going behind closed
-
doors and talking to Jehovah because we get the content
-
for our messages while on our knees he pours oil
-
and vessels. And I felt like closing with this. Brother
-
Nathaniel Jesus said, I am the door, and on one
-
side of that door that you need to close that Jesus,
-
and on the other side is the world. It was
-
the same thing with the arc. God closed that door
-
and knowing his family of eight was unable to be
-
distracted by what was going on outside. And I gonna
-
admit to you, you're living in perilous times. But we
-
haven't heard in our day and now of a holiness
-
preacher having to be let down a wall in a
-
basket in these United States. In these United States, we're
-
yet to hear of a holiness pasture being stoned and
-
left for dead by physical stones, by verbal stones of
-
other holiness preachers that love the truth. No lovers of
-
the truth want stone their brother in Christ. Sister, I've
-
been praying for you, grandson. He just turned thirty two.
-
That's what he told us tonight. Right today, God reminded
-
me of when I had that minor heart attack, that
-
issue with my heart, when it stopped beating and I
-
went out of this world and laid lifeless in the
-
bed after Sister, how my family prayed. After about thirty
-
five minutes, the ambulance came and I revived without them
-
putting any equipment on me. At some point I revived.
-
I remember way waking up, reviving to my family and
-
sister how praying over me as I laid into bed immediately.
-
My heart rate was normal, my blood pressure was normal.
-
But they took me onto the hospital trying to find
-
out why did his heart stop beating. I remember when
-
it started getting real slow, Brother Nathaniel. We were sitting
-
in a restaurant in Sun City Center or in Ellington, Florida.
-
There was a ruby Tuesday. They had just served us
-
our food, and I remember feeling weak, and I told sister,
-
how sad my body's shutting down. I went out laid
-
in a vehicle, Brother Jesse. When they took me to
-
the hospital, in walked Jean Wooton. He said, Pastor, I've
-
drove nearly three hours as soon as I heard I
-
want to come to you. I find it no surprise
-
that Brother Tyler would have been telling his grandmother last
-
night that the two greatest influencers in his life has
-
been his grandpa and his pastor, because I have felt
-
that so strongly today. But Brother Tyler, if something doesn't
-
happen to you radically spiritually, you will live the rest
-
of your life just as you are now. You'll be
-
a great guy. You'll be a great friend, you'll be
-
a good church worker. But you'll live your life, but
-
just a little oil in the vessel. And this is
-
what I want to tell you all. If what you
-
got can't keep you from spending countless hours on YouTube,
-
and if what you got can't keep you from living
-
in condemnation, and if what you got does it convict you,
-
you're in trouble. Because when the bride cometh and the
-
archangel says, behold the bridegroom cometh, it's gonna be too
-
late to buy oil. When we bury Sister Whooting, it's
-
gonna be too late for Brother Tyler to say, Grandma,
-
lay your hands on me and breathe the holy breath
-
of God in them my soul, and say, receive you
-
the Holy ghost. But you can do that all you
-
want to, as long as you bring vessels that are full,
-
and you'll leave with nothing. But when you get hungry
-
and you get sick of the things of this world,
-
and you get tired of the things of this world,
-
and you get empty, and you close a hotel door,
-
and brother Caleb says me, and my daddy is going
-
to be ministering the lost people, and my Daddy can't
-
carry this burden alone. We got to hear from Heaven.
-
He closed that door, Sister Faith. He knelt on the
-
other side of that bed. He testified tonight today or yesterday,
-
last week, three years ago, he received the Holy Ghost.
-
If you listen to what Brother Kayla Brocap says was
-
when Sister Simmons was having a good time having a vacation,
-
there's no sin in that she has the Holy Ghost.
-
She wasn't thinking like he was thinking. But for brother Caleb,
-
he had to drown out to distractions and says to
-
how he said when he got frustrated at the distractions,
-
he cried out to God. God helped me to focus
-
on my need. Help me to focus on what I
-
need right now. And God gloriously filled him with a
-
holy ghost. And Brother Jesse, I've got both hands. If
-
you could see me spiritually, I've got both hands up
-
in the air. And I have asked repeatedly God in
-
the last two weeks, what else can I do? What
-
else can be done? Because the environment here is great,
-
the atmosphere here's service at the service is saturated. For
-
some of you that have refused to lift up your
-
voice and praise the Lord. As Isaiah one in twenty said,
-
is it rebellion? Because if it is, the devourer is coming.
-
And that's what I want to tell you. Forget about
-
when the cops come for you. Forget about when the
-
earthly creditors come for you. Be concerned about when the
-
spiritual creditors come to collect on your debt. When you've
-
played with the piper, you're gonna pay the piper. I'd
-
rather do this. This is what has haunted me in
-
a good way, but it should trouble you. God has
-
spoken into my heart repeatedly in the last two weeks.
-
They that sow to the wind shall reap the whirlwind.
-
May we stand right now on the other side of
-
the door of the ark. There are many distractions. In fact,
-
some people in this building tonight better closed the door
-
have distractions immediately, and they're gonna come at you from
-
every angle if you don't. Sister faith Ropcap can tell
-
you she dealt with a distraction today contemporary Christian music.
-
I can tell you again that big name holiness preacher
-
in the middle of a good message got distracted by
-
the devil and mocked good sincere holy people and talked
-
in the He'll billy a country to a temporary However,
-
you simpletons bumping and say it, sister Walker, in that moment,
-
there was a bad spirit in that man, and his
-
son is now an open homosexual. How are those distractions
-
working out for you? Here's what I had happened to
-
me in that office, brother Samuel. I was seeking the Lord,
-
and I saw a church and in it was God's people,
-
and a lot of them are in this building tonight,
-
and they had their eyes closed and squinting right now,
-
and they were praying and trying to get the mind
-
of the Lord and seeking God like they're doing right now.
-
And outside was a bunch of clowns circling the church,
-
and they formed a parade. And there was some people
-
inside of this building that was so focused on the
-
clown's parade they missed what was going on. And God said, Jeremy,
-
that's what's happened into three people at and that's also
-
happening to people that are listening to this message tonight,
-
and knows that will be listening to this message in
-
the upcoming days. They are dangerously distracted by surfing this
-
and that on the internet, looking at what this and
-
that church is doing compromising judging, comparing themselves, but not
-
having an experience for themselves. They should be dragging themselves
-
to a place that is a house of oil. They
-
should be seeing to it that their limps are full
-
of oil and that their light is shining. They're comparing
-
themselves by others. Sister, how as the Holy Ghost moves
-
on you, even now as you feel the desperation this
-
woman was desperate. Her greatest possessions are about to be
-
sold on an auction block.
