Just now, I open my Bible to this psalm. It

fell open to this psalm right now, Brother chip Roy

is excited. I'm excited. Let's see what it says. The

Bible said, Bless the Lord, O my soul and all

that is within me. Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O,

my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Who forgiveth

all thine iniquities, Who healeth all thy diseases, Who redeemeth

thy life from destruction, Who crowneth thee with loving kindness

and tender mercies, Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things,

so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles. The

Lord executeth righteous and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto

the children of men. The Lord is merciful and greatacious,

slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not

always chide, neither will he keep his anger forever. He

hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded

us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is

high above the earth, so great is his mercy towards

them that fear him as far as the east is

from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions

from us, Like as a father pitieth his children. So

the Lord piteth them that fear him, for he knoweth

our frame. He remembereth that we are dust as for man.

His days are as grass as the flower of the field.

So he flourishes, for the wind passeth over it, and

it is gone, and the place thereof shall know it

no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from

everlasting to everlasting, upon them that fear him and his

righteousness unto children's children, to such as keep his covenant,

to those that remember his commandments to do them. The

Lord has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his

kingdom rule us over them. Bless the Lord, ye his

angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening

unto the voice of the Lord. Bless ye the Lord,

all ye his host, ye ministers of his that do

his pleasure. Bless the Lord all his works in all

places of his dominion. Bless the Lord, Oh my soul.

Praise the Lord. Come on, brother chip Roy, preach to

us tonight. Amen. Praise the Lord. Thank God, I just

feel great in my soul tonight. Aren't you glad to

be saved?

Lords kin rebuke me a little bit to remind me.

I need to start preaching more on some one o three.

But I'm gonna tell you what happened, interests and story

happened on the evangelists feel the Mark. Because of that,

I have really learned to love some one O three.

I preached over in West Virginia at the church where

Brother Jason Painter pastors. And I'm gonna tell you why.

You'll see a miracle, Sister rees Painter. Oh boy, anytime

I touched divine healing, I automatically think about her. I

think about her quicker than I do Dug Cornett now,

Brother Cornett, and you know I love Brother Cornett. Anybody

knows anything about us. But anyway, I was just thinking, man.

I preached on some one O three one through three

about about the benefit of divine healing. His church was

in the afternoon. I went over to this other church

where a couple of Aays who are there will go

uh they they were ants to Brother Ron Evans over

in ash what is it Ashland, Kentucky? Just across the

river from West Virginia. And this is what happened. Guess

what Brother Evans preached on that night. P. One o

three one through five. Then wait a minute, wait a minute,

that's not all the story. I went to UH to

UH and I think it was one service, maybe not,

but I heard two preachers hit maybe they not. I

don't think they read. There's a texta that they hit

some one o three, So you know, I think I'm

gonna have to do some more preaching on some one

oh three. So I'm not. I don't mind a correction

on that, because I think that's what God God allowed

it for. Because I'll tell you what, I love Psalm

one o three. In my years of studying the Bible

and especially the psalms, I think we've all had favorites.

I wish I could get up and just say that

this one psalm was always my favorite. Would it be

Psalm twenty three, which it was at one point uh

P ninety one, which was one time my favorite psalm?

And then Some thirty four for several years because of

a trial I was facing. Now some one o three

has joined me the ranks are now my favorite psalm.

I'll Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all it's

within me. Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, oh

my soul, and forgetting all his bents, who forgiveth all

thy iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases. I have a

feeling if I really get deep enough in, I probably

will be able to quote it without even having the

Bible open to it, which I don't have it open

to it now. I'm I'm at, I'm on a I'm gonna,

I do think, Brother hal for let me preach here tonight.

I just want to say that before I go any further. Amen.

And since it's a Thanksgiving service, I'm gonna preach on

the subject of thanksgiving. What are you gonna preach on

the sin of unthankfulness? Now, I want you to pay attention.

I'm gonna rereading. I'm only gonna read two verses right now.

I've got some others marked throughout the scriptures I plan

to quote and refer to and read when I get

to where they need to be read. But my first

versus as first Thessalonians, chapter four, verse three, And so

you're gonna be saying, what, well, just give me a

few minutes I'll I'll tell you what. Why is this message?

Why this verse of all verses is actually being used

as a text and a thanksgiving message. Well, hold on,

hold on Psalm chapter I mean not Psal, I mean

first Essens, Chapter four, verse three. For this is the

will of God, even your sanctification that you abstain from fornication. Now,

brother Roy, aren't you preaching against the sin of unthankfulness?

I sure am, I sure am. Now I want you

to flip to the next chapter or look at the

next chapter. Verse eighteen. I'll start verse I'll start verse sixteen.

Read down the verse eighteen. First Essenis Chapter five, verse sixteen.

Rejoice ever more, pray without ceasing. And now this would

be considered the main text. In everything, give thanks for

this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Amen,

in everything, give thanks for this is the will of

God in Christ Jesus concerning you. What the what the

first Saloons chapter four, verse three say, for this is

the will of God, even your sanctification that you abstain

from foreignication. Both specifically say this is the will of God.

Most people would probably uh, let me pray, I'll get

I'll get right back to your heavenly father. Ask you

anoint me now, ask you to touch each and every

heart and life here, help us learn to be more

thankful in Jesus's name. Amen. You may be seated if

you feel led to, or if you're able. Now what

I was ready to say. You know most people will

agree one hundred percent, for this is the will of God.

In cray for this will of God, even your sanctification.

That you abstain from fornication, we all know, and if

you're guilty of it, you need to repent. If you

don't accept this, I'm really gonna be a little hard

for a couple minutes here because I believe we need

to abstain from fornication. And it's my understanding Greek word

here is not just including just in moral acts between

two unmarried I understand this covers adultery, homosexuality, a law

of other sex sins Amen. But this is the way

I'm ready to say. I remember reading the books some

of you probably have by doctor Daniel corner On each

denouncing eternal security. I'm gonna tell you up front, I

both loved and hated it at the same time. Why

number one, he didn't stick with the King James Bible.

And if you've ever read some of his writings, my

friend the late doctor Robert L. Sumner, who is eternal Security.

I'm sorry, I hate to say that, that was probably it.

That was probably my main complaint about My second one

was doctor Sumner, of course, was he did not believe

in the King James only view. He used the King James.

He didn't downplay it near as much as as a

Daniel Corner. In fact, I'd say ninety percent plus of

his sermons was in the King James Bible. He just

did not follow King James only is. That was a

problem with Doctor So he really was not an anti

King James or an enemy of it. But when you

read some of the literature I have read a Corner,

Doctor Corner, he sounds borderline enemy of it. I'm sorry

to say that. Here. I loved the way he was

preaching a lot of the way he said it was

very good, but once again I could not go along

with him. Now why I'm bringing up Doctor Corner. He

one time and I wish I had with me, but

I don't, you know, I can't really, I'd have to

look the page up and everything. He was talking about

certain sins that you know may or may not cause

you to go to hell. He actually downplayed the sin

of unthankfulness. I mean, he didn't denied it was wrong,

but he downplayed it, which would be a good eternal securities,

wouldn't it. But he downplayed it. I'm sorry. The Bible

upplays it makes a sin on the same level as fornication. Yeah,

that's exactly why I'm ready to say. It's on the

same level as a sin of fornication. It's on the

same level of immorality. WHOA, I know you probably don't

hear it that hard, but that's the way I believe

about the sin of unthankfulness. Amen. It is on the

same level as a sin of fornication or other immorality. Amen.

I'm sorry, but I believe that we need to be

thankful people. We need to be in all things KIV.

Thanks for this is the will of God. It's not

only on the level, but also in the Bible we

read Matthew Chapter seven, verse twenty one to twenty three.

Now every man that says under me, Lord Lord, showing

heir to the kingdom of heaven, by he that doeth

the will of my Father, which is in heaven. Many

will say to me in that day, Lord, did we

not in thy name cast out devils? Did we not

prophesy in thy name? Then we not thy name? Do

many wonderful works profess under them? I depart from me.

I never knew you. That sounds harsh, doesn't it. But

it's the truth of God's word. How severe the sin

of unthankfulness is. Amen. Has got more to say in

the Word of God than that. But I want you

to know we need to learn to be thankful in

all things. We need to thank God in the good times.

We need to thank God in the bad time. So

we need to learn even sometimes to thank Him for

the bad times, because sometimes that's when we learn the most. Amen.

We need to be thankful for our food daily. And

I'm sorry to say it, I believe we need to

be thankful in everything. Amen. It is not just a

thing suggestion from God. This verse is a commandment of

God Almighty, and it is God's will. I know people

are always saying I need I want to know what

God's will is for my life. You know, there's two

types of two things, two types of God's will. There's

the general will of God, like it says, for this

is the will of God. Even at your sanctification, you

abstain from fornication. That is a general will God that

applies all of us who believe. Come on, when it

says our shall not steal, that applies to all of us.

It's our shall not ill, thou shall bear no false witness.

They are all applicable to every one of us who believe.

It's no exception there, Amen, it's not. We can only

say we can know what the general will of God

is by this book right here. Now, what we should learn.

First off, God will never lead you contrary as cherry

to his will. Somebody says that they that they were

felt led to do something contrary to God's will. And

here I'm ready to say it. How many people have

told me after a fiery divorce, said, I feels God's

will that I marry as long as their husband or

wife's alive. According to Matthew's Gospel, Luke's Gospel, and Mark's Gospel,

you have to stay single. But thank God, if they

should ever die, then you can be free to remarry.

I believe that, because after all, here you are talking

about man hearing a man talk to you who's been

through to marriages, both of them ended in death, not divorce.

So you know what I'm still praying about number three. Amen.

I know some of my friends when they hear this

will laugh at me. Well, go ahead and laugh. But

this is the thing I'm trying to say. It's on

the level of fornication. It's on the level of it's

not even being in God's will. Back to this, well,

as I say, general will God, that's what God calls

you to do, whether a preacher, Hey, if you feel

called to be a doctor or nurse, I'm not against it. Amen.

I believe we need some good Christian doctors. I believe

we need some good Christian nurses. I believe we need

some good Christian doctors who are gonna stand against some

of the evils as are like a abortion stand against

these trans surgeries. I believe we need some good ones.

I believe we need some good Christian attorneys. I'm not

opposed to it. I believe you can be saved and

be an attorney. Wow, if I was preaching this at

give Brownhall, they'd be ready to fire me. Brother. They

did not think you could be saved and being an attorney,

no joke. I really preach pastors and people believe that,

but hasn't either here nor there. I believe God may

call you to be a carpenter. I'm not against it.

I'm not against you being a mechanic if that's what

you feel God wants you to do. In fact, sometimes

preachers will often start out with a job like a

mechanic or or a carpenter, and then whenever they feel

time to go full time, or maybe a pastor of church,

church ain't paying enough there. You can be a tent

maker by being a carpenter, by being a mechanic. Hey,

if you're a lawyer, I knew a lawyer who professed salvation.

I don't know how safe he really was, but he

eventually became a preacher. Come on, not within Iraqs, but

once again, he did become a preacher and pastor to church.

I'm not against that, not at all. As long as

he's there being an honest man preaching the truth of

God's word. I'd love to see that more often. And

sometimes as a preacher you will have to have an

other work. So I'm not here. But if you feel

lead and God leads you into full time evangelism, you

ought to go. So I'm not against full time preachers either,

But back to I was raised, say, it's on the

same level as a sin of fornication, but there's other things. Yeah,

that's pretty serious, because you know, fornicators will not be

in the Kingdom of God unless they repent and get

out of that sin. They're not gonna make heaven. Wow.

I know some people aren't going like that and this

day and age, but that's what the Word of God says,

does it not, Amen, calls adultery an abomination. It calls

homosexuality and abomination. I'm gonna continue preaching God's word. Amen.

What says about these sins? Oh? Brother, you're a hate monger.

Can I tell you something. I may hate what an

adulterer does, but I often love the adulterer. And I

even have met some homosexuals that I really like personally.

I just hated what they did, and I did not

have any hatred in my heart towards them. Amen. I

desire anything they get saved and get delivered. Amen. I'm

not out to to, you know, throw stones at them.

I'm out to try reaching them with a word of God.

Because see, we were all sinners before we found the Lord. Amen.

Back now to the well, I'm raised saying, I don't

want us get off on this too much, but I

pray will because there's two more points of this message,

and both of them will hit sin. Now let's go

the first two Timothy, Chapter three, Verse two. Yeah, some

of you already know what I'm ready to deal with.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,

proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. I'm gonna go

on redown a couple more verses verse three, without natural affection,

truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent fears, despiser of those that

are good, traders, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures, more

and lovers of God having the form of Godness, but

denying the power thereof from such. Turn away back to

verse two. Unthankful unholy. You know what, any time a

person is unthankful, they're heading to a life of unholiness. Now,

brother Roy, let me explain to you something I believe.

Whenever you become unthankful. I believe there's two main reasons.

There may be others, but there's two main reasons why

I believe born again believers suddenly becomes unthankful. Number One, Pride, pride,

Oh brother Roy. What happens is sometimes when a man

serves God for years, they look at the kingdom they built. Yeah,

I may sound like I'm quoting Nebknezra, I sure him

he definitely was a man guilty of this. Amen. You

know what, how many preachers have built great churches, run

several hundred people and become proud of it, and rather

than learning to be thankful, they talk about what I

have done, what I did, what I sacrificed, what I

had to do to get this church going. Well, I

hope you prayed. I hope you stayed humble while you

were building a church, Amen, because it wasn't you that

really built it. Anyway, God may have used you, but

you sure wasn't the one that did that. God could

have any time wanted to remove you and put somebody

more humble in. Come on, I believe this. I believe this.

I believe this. I believe that's the troubling in any churches.

I look at some of the fundamental Baptist churches throughout

the years, and I'm gonna go ahead and name a

name doctor Jack Hiles. I'm sorry. I believe he was

a boaster and proud. I believe he was one that

got up in glory, just glowed on what a great

church he built. And then in nineteen eighty nine, my

friend doctor Sumner, if you want to know, I'm on

doctor Sumner's side, came out with an article the sadest

story we ever published. I'm on doctor Sumner's side. The

only issue I can really say. I disagreed with doctor

Sumner on and the whole articles of King James issue.

But once again, he was a king. He did use

the King James very very frequently, So I'm not attacking

him and I'm not built tearing him down. Kind of

like the way I sounded doctor Corner. I hope I

didn't mean sound like I was tearing him down. But

sad to say, he was clearly anti King James. It

was rare, Doctor Sumner. He just was against King James.

Only is I disagree with him there, But I don't

think he had the harsh and hard spirit that Daniel

Corner did. But tonight pride will often happen as a

result and will cause you to be very unthankful. You'll

build churches several hundred millions, several thousand people, and you'll

think you did it yourself. What happened to what happened

to Nebu Canizzar? He became like an animal, Amen, And

for seven years he was like that. Now. I know

some may disagree with me on this, but here's what

I believe. God gave him his mind back, and I

believe God restored the kingdom. And guess what else I believe.

I believe He saved the soul of Nebu Canazar. One

of these days, when I'm preaching somewhere, both Sunday morning

and Sunday night, one the service will be dealing with

the pride of Neb can Azar. The next one be

the salvation of never Canazar, because I believe both are

very important. Amen. So ah, Yes, I do believe never

can Azar's in heaven regards how terrible a man he was,

But finally, the last two years of his life, I

believe it was he finally found the Lord. I don't

know what he had to go through being in the

Old Testament, but I don't want thing he did right.

He humbled himself, and how many unthankful people are anything

but humble? Amen, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobe the parents, unthankful, unholy. Yes,

I'll be getting ready to hit this next one without

natural affections. Ooh, because the next one. Oh wait a minute,

one more before I leave that When sorry, unthankfulness often

leads to bitterness. It leads bitterness, not just to your

fellow man, but even to God. I know we often

experienced trials, but wouldn't we be doing better if we

could be thankful. I just wish that man I could

have dealt with better years ago. He may not even

be amongst the living. But it was at some time

after my second wife passed away, Sharon, he told me,

and he was mad at God. It was clear. He said,

why does my wife of over sixty years have to

suffer terribly like this? You know, I think I was

about ready to say, listen, sir, I've never been married

sixty years, but I've been married twice, and both my

wives died of cancer. I got to see them both suffer,

and I still love the Lord. Amen. It was hard.

I'm not denying it, Amen, even now it's been years

since both of them died. It can hit me at

the wrong moment. I often jokingly say when I see squirrels,

I can actually start crying over Cindy, believe it or not.

You say, why is that? Because see, we had a

little squirrel come by our house a lot. We call

a little miss Squirrely. We let her in and feed

her and everything else, and she was just quite the

companion to us. But see now and people say, yeah,

I can cry I have a squirrel if it's at

the wrong moment. Remember, not long after she died, I

went to a place where they sold teddy bears. I

was always giving her teddy bears, and these were Indian

American Indian teddy bears. I could barely look at him

because of my grief. Amen, So I understand grief, But

you don't have to turn mad on God. I'm not

against if you're questioning for a reason, like maybe why

because is there something in my life I like to know?

Is there anything you need to deal with me about?

May not necessarily sin, but maybe I need to go

do a somew one O three notebook, do some sermons in.

I think the Lord's remind me once again tonight. So

I think I'll start on me before I get to

bed tonight. Lord will but definitely tomorrow. Definitely, but I'm

ready to tell you. People turn angry what happened back

to what this man said. He didn't even let me

say anything because I think I could have I might

God'm angrier, or I might had his heart broken. So

but I really wonder if he was a thankful man.

I'm not judging say he was, But that's how most

people who are very unthankful act. They turn on God.

I have no reason to turn on God just because

two wives have died, my father passed away, my mother

passed away. I could go through a list of friends

I've had to have passed away throughout the years. A

friend of mine, Dormant Phillips, we were very close for years.

He's gone since two thousand and seven. And I could

just go down the list of all these friends of

mine and acquaintance of mine, people I loved dear passing away.

But that's just more or less. When you get to

be past sixty, part of your life come on so

rare and getting hard on God, turning against him. Why

don't you learn to thank him, Thank Him for the

influence those people had on your life. Thank you for

even the both the good things you learned from him

and the things that would help you avoid evil down

the road. Come on, So tonight, let's be thankful, because

when you're unthankful, you're unholy. And my last verse, I'm

going to go to Romans. Won amen, I'm all to

quote something. I don't have it with me. I don't

even know where the book is, but Preacher Follies and

by Florence Shoemaker used to teach it Free Gospel Bible

Institute years ago, long before I ever heard of the school,

let alone been there. But she told us always remember

to be thankful for when people to help you. As

she pointed out, unthankfulness is one of the sins that

causes natures to turn to Heathenism. Romans, chapter one, verse

twenty one, because that when they knew not God, they

glorified them not as God. Neither were thankful. I've seen

America turn away from God because we're not thankful like

we once were. You know that even said back after

World War Two. You know there was many it came

home from World War two and we're thankful to the Lord.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical. There there's

many women who prayed for their sunny boys lived through

the war. Many of them got on their knees and

thank God when they saw that sunny boy. I like

say it like that because I've dealt with some people

probably did have World War Two veterans for children. But

suddenly it seemed like men start to get more exalted

in their cells and it started to gradually go downhill. Yes,

there was the latter rain revival of the nineteen forties,

nineteen fifties. Some of it was good and some of

it wasn't. Amen. One thing I found out recently they

even had anti semi amongst them. You've heard me talk

about Gordon Winrod. His dad Gerald was with them. I

did not know that until a few about two or

three months ago. And he had influence and they even

say he was the one that influence William Brandham with

a satan sea doctrine. Yeah, that's supposed to be. That's

some of the facts I've heard. If I'm wrong, I'm

glad they stand corrected. But there was revivals. People got saved.

Jack Cole. What do you know about Jack co Well,

I know a lot about him. I think he's done

a lot good and I can tell you some people

who I used to sit underneath who were strongly influenced

by the late Jack Cole, who's that my former pastor

and his wife, Brother ld and Sister Shirley Savage, especially

Sister Savage because that was her pastor when she was

only about twelve years of age and during her time

she was growing up. So there you have it. I mean,

I can actually tell you that I have some of

that influence leading back to Jack co Yeah, I think

I do. Amen. I may not be able to point

it out right now, but I believe I had because

I was underneath brother and Sister Savage for several years

and I still respect them highly. I think they were

great people. They had their flaws that they were great people.

So there was good and bad about the latter rain.

I don't want to get too much on it. Brother.

I'd rather you get up and say one thing way

or other, because you're the pastor and I think you know,

if you feel so important to bring some things up,

I'd rather you do it well. Like I said, I

mentioned William Brandham, a ononous man who was right in

the middle of it. I think he started trinitarian he

turned oneness. But back to his Racay. Yes there were

some revivals here there, but finally the unthankful spirit did

catch up, didn't it. I'm thankful back in the seventies

and eighties once again regards what you think, That's what

I'm trying to do when I quote somebody that some

people may differ from me, or may I may even

differ with them. In the late seventies early eighties, when

regards what you think about doctor Jerry Folwell, he started

a Moral Majority, and I thank God for that movement.

There's a lot of faults with it. I felt it

was way too ecumenical. But here's what I'm ready to say,

we need I think if we had stayed thankful like

we needed to as the Church as America, it may

not have even been necessary a group like the Moral Majority,

which had done both good and bad for this nation.

Thank God, many people, many Christians, start to vote with

their beliefs. And if you stay history, you understand our

founding fathers when this nation first came a nation? Where

did they often go to get wisdom? We say? All

then they believe in separation of church and state. If

you stay it to the way it really was, they

were not worried about the church influencing this nation. Come on,

they were actually going to preachers getting wisdom, getting knowledge. Amen,

I've heard a lot good about George Washington. I may

not liked him own slaves, but once again, I still

believe he probably was one of the better slave owners.

You had them treating bad, and you have him treat

them good. But they often went to preachers and discussed

what they needed to do, how what laws they need

to pass. Yes, it's true, it's true. And now they're

trying to kick the influence of God out this nation. Unthankful, unthankful.

Let's see some of the things that happened. They changed

the glory of the incorruptible God into an image like

to corruptible men, and the birds and the forfeit for

the beast and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them

up to uncleanness through the lust of their own bodies,

dishonoring themselves, their own bodies between themselves, who changed the

glory of God into a lie, and worshiped and served

the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this cause, God gave them up into violence, affections,

for even their women did change the natural use of

that which is against nature. Likewise, also the men leaving

the natural use of the woman, burning their lust one

towards another. Men with men working that which is unseemly

and receiving in themselves that recompense of their own air,

which is meat. I'm gonna tell you that's why the

homosexuality movements a rised up. I believe that's one of

the reasons. And the other reason because let's face reality,

people even back in the sixties taking their marriage vows

less seriously. Come on, come on, I believe when divorce

comes rampant and remarriage, I believe that's when you'll see

other sins rise up. And I think that is the

problem of America. Now. We have allowed things in that

we did not need to. I believe we have stayed

and been thankful and made up our mind to go

to church even when our boss says no, come on,

I will not work Sundays. The only time I ever

worked Sunday the first time I worked for a oh

what's that one uber? I didn't know how to do that,

and I accidentally caught an order, so I felt obligated

to deliver it. But guess what, I didn't miss church

at all that day. And then another time I accidentally

got an order from door Dash on Sunday I had

to drive from Steve Cita to Front Royal. But listen,

both of them were before church. I mightst say it.

I like doing it, but I didn't want to endanger

my job by both of them. Then he miss five

minutes of church. Amen, both of them were in the morning.

And I'm trying my best to avoid this for here

on out. Come on, you need to. I had to.

I practically lost the job. I didn't get fired, but

I actually had strife with a boss years ago over

Sunday work at McDonald's of all places. But as understandable,

you know, God did he gave me a better job

where I didn't have to work Sundays. And I'll tell

you what else. I hate saying what I'm ready to say.

I don't want to sound like I'm rejoicing that that

man eventually was demoted and he quit because he lost

his company car. I understand he's back with a McDonald's.

I'm gonna rejoice he is, why, because I don't want

to rejoice over his downfall. I'm just thankful in the

sense God did do it if he gave him a

job back. I'm okay with it. But regardless, we need

to learn to be thankful, because when think, when you

fail to thank them, these sins follow. Even as they

did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God

gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those

things which are not convenient, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covenousness, maliciousness,

full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, backbyers, haters of God, despiteful,

proud boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without

understanding covenant, bate, breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful, who

know in the judgment of God they which you commit

such things are worthy of death, not only do the same,

but have pleasure in them all because why when they

knew God, they glorified him, not as God. Neither were thankful.

I'm gonna try closing on a positive note. Now, I

may tell a couple stories, and then i'll close one

that deals with a man. He was a missionary, he

was on the mission field. He's getting very depressed, and

he kept praying and asking God to take his depression

from him, but wasn't getting anywhere. Don't you believe he

should pray? Yes, but I think he was missing something.

He was ready to leave the field. Over in China,

he walked by a sign that said try thanksgiving. You

know he did. He start thanking God and his depression

left one more thing. You know, it's sad here in America.

When we've got some of the greatest things, where this

nation has been blessed, some of us are still very unthankful.

Often when you find Christians in other nations, you'll find

how thankful they really are. I got this little devotional

writing that I don't think I could pronounce this name,

but Lena Waddy Santosi Santoso from East Lava, Indonesia understand

that can be a dangerous spot for a Christian, one

of the biggest Muslim nations in the world. But thank God,

I believe there are real Christians there. My birthday was

coming up. I really wanted to celebrate with a cake.

My problem was we did not have enough money to

buy one, and my sister knew I wanted a cake,

so she made one instead of using flour, butter, and milk.

She used sweet potatoes and coconut. First, my sister steamed

the sweet potatoes, then she mashed them. Then she shaped

the cake, shaped them into a cake, and sprinkled coat.

It was grated coconut. My sister did not spend much

money making that cake. Sweet potatoes and coconut. Was we're inexpensive,

but that cake was beautiful and delicious. I was so happy.

I thank God for my special birthday cake. This would

it'd be great if we could have that spirit again.

I'll tell one more story part of me. This came

from a former pastor. Mind He grew up in Clarksburg,

West Virginia. They were very poor. His dad worked hard,

but they were still this back in the twenties and thirties.

Mind you, they didn't have much. Guess what his sister

decided to bake a cake for them. She took a bucket,

mixed it up, and put a towel over the bucket,

and she just baked it over an open fire. I

still remember what this pastor said. Wow, over forty years

later and this is how thankful he was for that

simple little blessing. He said, that was the best cake

he ever ate. Tonight, let's be learned to be thankful,

whether for the big things or the small things. Amen.

I talked about the curse of unthankfulness. But when you

learn to be thankful, you could just rejoice over a

over a over a coconut in a sweet potato cake,

or you can rejoice over a cake made by fire,

over in a bucket by fire, an open fire. I'll

tell you what we need to learn to be thankful.

Whether you're rich or poor, you need to be thankful tonight. Amen,
