From How Shall This Be To Lord Be It Unto Me - Bro Samuel Howell 12-17-2025

How many appreciates the spirit of the Lord we felt today.

It's been powerful, absolutely powerful. That's what I love about Bethel.

Every service is it's a heaven field service. There's that

song that says, I'm just warming up. We should be

well warmed up by the time we get to Heaven.

Old Bethel should be. I love being a part of

this church. I love my pastor, and I appreciate my pastor,

and I thank you for this opportunity. Appreciate your giving,

and may the Lord richly bless you for it. Got

a new notebook here. Sorry, I'm trying to figure out

how to work.

It's a little stiff I've had.

This Probably gonna sound familiar to a lot of you

because I testified a little bit about this Sunday, but

I haven't been able to get rid of it. And

I kept thinking about it all day yesterday, and then

Pastor reached out to me and asked me to be

ready to preach tonight. We'll be looking at Luke chapter one.

Luke chapter one, verse thirty four. I pray, and I

covert your prayers. May the Lord help us here to

help us tonight to do his will. Luke chapter one,

verse thirty four. Then Mary said, unto the Angel, how

shall this be, seeing I know not a man. And

the Angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost

shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest

shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that holy thing which shall

be born of these shall be called the Son of God.

And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath gone. She hath

also conceived a son in her old age. And this

is the sixth month with her who was called bearing.

For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, behold,

thy handmaid of the Lord. Be it unto me according

to thy word, and the Angel of the Lord or

the Angel departed from her. Lift your hands and ask

God to help us here today or tonight. Lord, we

ask you right now in the name of Jesus, our

heavenly Father. We beseeched thee Lord to come down in

our presence. God, God, I ask you to pour out

your spirit upon us.

Lord God, let conviction fall in this place. Lord, let

baptism fall into place. O Lord God, meet us in

the altars. O Lord God. We ask you.

Lord. We plead with you, God, our Father and our

Savior and our King Lord, for the anointing and the

grace and the knowledge of the Lord and Savior God.

We asked that you would please go with us, Lord

and your name, we ask, and we pray, Lord, Amen

and Amen. Now this should be a very familiar passage

of scripture in the time of the year we are.

You know, a lot of people that's probably reading this

story quite often. I know, as a custom is for

the Howell family. Since I was a child, we always

before we opened any gifts, before we'd done anything, we

read the story of Jesus. And I think that's a

good way to start your Christmas off. You know, I

can remember from the time I was the first time

was I ever remember sitting in the floor or sitting

on the couch, and we were always told to have

our own Bibles as well and to read along with it.

That way, we really understood and paid attention to the story.

So it should be a very familiar passage of story.

But I wanna kind of back us up a little bit.

We're gonna go back up to verse number eighteen, and

here we have Zacharias. In verse eighteen, it says, and

Zacharias said unto the Angel, whereby shall I know this,

for I am an old man, and my wife is

well stricken in years.

Now.

This is where the Angel has come to them, to

Zacharias and to Elizabeth, and told them now that you're

gonna have a child.

This is before.

This is six months prior before the angel. Gable goes

to visit with Mary and he tells Zacharias. He says,

you're gonna have a child. This is gonna be your gift.

But Zachariace, he just couldn't understand that. You know, in

my old age, there's there's no way that I'm gonna

be able to father a son. There's no way that

my wife is going to be able to conceive. She's old,

and she's going on. She's going on, and God old.

But the Angel tells him right here in verse number thirteen,

I think it is. And the Angel said, unto him,

fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard.

That part stook out to me.

The Angel God ain't gonna send somebody down there to

an angel tells somebody your prayer has been heard if

you haven't been praying for it. I believe with everything

within me that Zacharias this is something that he prayed

for at one point, and now he's got older in

his life and he's just giving up hope and he's

saying there's not a chance anymore. But the Angel comes

into him and offers him and says, finally, you're ready.

Your prayer has been heard. You're gonna conceive a son.

But Zachariah, he just can't fathom it. He just can't

understand Hall it's gonna be. But I don't want to

ever get to the place that where I reject something

from God just because it didn't come whenever I wanted it,

just because your prayer didn't come whenever you want it.

It doesn't mean that God isn't gonna answer it. It

isn't gonna mean that it's not gonna be right on time.

Because whatever God answered, it is gonna be on time.

It's gonna be according to when you have made your

heart ready, whenever you said, all right, Lord, now I understand,

and I see what I must do to receive. It

wasn't because that he was old that the Lord decided

to give him.

It was a give him a kid.

It was finally because probably he finally done something to

make himself ready for this child. Finally, he had me

reached a point to where God that I can finally bless.

You with this gift.

But now help us God here, if we keep reading on,

Zachariah starts to have a hard time believing the possibility

of him having a child. And I really believe that

it's due to his old age. But nevertheless he begins

to doubt God. And whenever we find ourselves doubt in God,

that's when we find ourselves in a tough place and

a bad pinch. God's timing is always the right time,

no matter no matter how long ago you prayed the prayer,

it doesn't matter when it is. It's the perfect timing.

It's right on, and it's right where it needed to be.

I don't care if someone that has prayed a prayer

has passed on. God isn't gonna say that prayer that

that old time or prayed is no longer valid.

I don't care. It's still valid to God.

There's been people that have been saved because of the

prayers that their parents that prayed when they died on

God didn't say that palce that prayer is now void.

I don't need it. It's no longer in need.

Just keep on praying, don't worry about it. God's still

gonna answer it. It's not valid and valid if you die,

God's gonna honor the prayer of the old saints that

have went on. Sister Cheryl is an example of a

prayer that her parents prayed right before they passed. They

watched her come in and be a part of the

family of God. That's still prayers out there for her

brothers and her sisters. And I believe she's picked up

where a mama and dad has left. But God hasn't

forgotten the prayers of his.

Mom and dad. Oh God help me.

Zacharias doubted God because of his and Elizabeth's age. It

doesn't matter your age. If God says, let it be

so is perfect timing. Now, the part that always stuck

out to me here was Zacharias In there it says

Zacharias and Elizabeth was righteous, walking in the commandments and

the ordinance of the Lord.

Blameless.

That's something we can't say nowadays, that we're blameless. But nevertheless,

him being right, him following the commandments of God, him

being blameless, he still finds himself in doubt. It doesn't

matter how holy you are, how prayed up you say

you are, you gotta watch out that doub doesn't slip

into you because God didn't answer a prayer when you

wanted it to be prayed, or when you wanted him

to answer it.

He was praying.

I believe he was a praying man, but yet he

doubted the Archangel of God. Gabriel told him, he said,

I'm coming with glad tidings. But yeah, he's still doubted,

and kind of from where I read it, kind of comic.

Who I feel like Gabriel probably got a little bit

upset with him right there. In verse nineteen, after Zachariah says,

whereby shall I know this? For I'm an old man,

the g angel answers and says, unto him, I am

Gabriel that stands in the presence of God. God has

given us an angel that stands in the prejudice of God.

And yet you ignore the message whenever you're praying after

God to show you how it's gonna be here.

You and we have our Gabral on this day and hour.

I ain't put him.

On the same pedestal as him, but he's.

The angel of this church.

He's the one that hears from God concerning your soul.

How are you gonna doubt the Angel, the chief Angel

of the messenger, the one that's gonna blow the trumpet,

tells us come on home. He probably thought that Zacharyts

is gonna love this news. He says, I'm bringing you

glad tidings, but you gotta get to different attitude. Pastor

comes to church excited. I got their message. Well, they're

finally gonna get deliverance. But you gotta you coup with attitude.

And he feels the get back because you're rejecting the

message from the Angel.

Oh God preaching on tonight from how shall this be? Lord?

To be it under me? Moving on to our text.

Verse thirty thirty four, Here it said, and then Mary said,

unto the Angel, how shall this be? Seeing I know

not a man, Mary's wanting to hear the howl. Zachariah

is just saying it's not possible. Mary saying, Lord, I believe.

To show me how, Lord, I know you can do it.

Just give me a little encouragement if you would go

into the altar tonight with that attitude instead of coming

out to the altar and saying, Lord, it's not possible.

I've went down there time and time again.

Yes you have, and every time you have, You've been

down there with the same attitude.

You've been down there with this knock. I'm gonna get

up the same.

I'm gonna get up and change.

Try going down there tonight with their Lord being under me.

Mary ass, Mary ass, And I love what Gabriel said

said the Holy ghost shall come upon thee, The Holy

Ghost shall come upon thee, and the Highest shall overshadow thee.

That thought you gotta worry about you.

No, no, no, just that God to let the Highest

overshadow you.

This same Lord, the hord girls come down upon me.

That there, I'm sure would have been enough for Mary

to have the assurance, that would have been enough to

hear it straight from God's messenger. But yeah, Gabriel goes

ahead and gives her little extra assurance right there. In

verse thirty six, he said, thy cousin Elizabeth she Hath.

Conceived a son in her old age. Mary.

I know you're not married, but Elizabeth old, I can

still perform in an old body, just like I can

in a young body. You don't have to be old

to receive the Holy Ghost. Hit don't know of your age.

I've heard stories of young children receiving the Holy Ghost

that age of five years old.

God can still perform miraculous things in you as long

as you submit. Mary submitted. She said, Lord being me, zach.

I don't see how it's gonna happen. You say, I

just don't see it's gonna happen. I don't see how

it's gonna happen. I don't see how it's gonna work out.

It all comes down to unwillingness. Unwillingness to look beyond

the hell. Zacharias. That's all he could see. It's all

he focused on, was hell.

I'm old.

I really don't feel like dealing with this right now.

I'm almost to the end of my life.

Now. I got another mathter feed I finally retired. He was.

I know he was the priest.

But if you find yourself in that mindset, Father, you

got a little child behind you that God's put in

your trust. Don't say I don't feel like getting in

all my back hurt tonight. I think y'all standing here

because you don't want to pressure of fatherhood. I didn't

get what I got I hang on, let me make

sure I say this right. What made me what I wanted,

what made me want what I have, was my father

and my mother. Yes, I watched others hat it and

it really sparked my fire, but it was always what

the parents had.

He was always watching the power of the holy ghost.

Move on my parents, Dad, Mom, your child's gonna be

looking at you.

Mainly he got tired of behave. That was my prayer.

I probably remembered me when I testified after I got saved,

I said, Lord, I don't care who gets the holy

ghost of my house. Just let somebody get it, because

I got children that are gonna be looking to the parents. Father,

that's the man of the house, and that's the leader

of the house. They're gonna be looking to you. Your

wife's looking to you. Yeah, they may have the holy ghost,

but they're still gonna follow your leading.

Oh God, the partner scares me. Right. Ter Old Zacharias

he got smoked with dumbness.

And when I read this passage of scripture where he

was smote with dumbness, immediately, what come to mind us?

Don't make God prove it power. God's all powerful. He

wants to show you the good side of his power.

He wants to.

Show you the blessings, the joy and the love and

the mercy of being in.

The child and the half of God.

The last thing he wants to do is to fall

on you and to grind you on putting the powder.

Zachariah became dumb, but his dumbness dissolved his doubt.

His dumbness is what he said. I believe now.

When you finally find yourself in a state of mind

where your crip and the only one you can rely on,

it's God on my dad to prove his fight and

to pull you out your dumbness. We'll dissolve your count.

He was dumb until the time of John's birth.

The first thing he done said his tongue was or

mouth immediately opened his tongue loose, and he spake, and

he praised God. You find yourself dumb, spiritually, you better

when God pulls you out.

The first words out to a mouth that thank God, Almighty, I.

Cold promises that right out for the rest of his life.

Thank God on my Dad, I got my tongue back.

Thank God on my Dad, I got my voice back.

He's supposed to be a praise you. No, no, no, no, no, Hey,

God Almighty help me. He believed that he became dumb.

Mary chose the easier way, said, Lord, I trust you.

That's enough for me. God, I get to be.

The host of Jesus Christ signed me up. God's looking

for another house, the Holy Ghost.

All you gotta do is they signed me up. I

get to carry that. Sign me up, no marriage that

the son of God. Shut me up, God.

Almody, it's time you get the hard to marry.

Lose that ars or.

Zacharias, lose that attitude of how.

It's time to say it.

God, let it be so accord to that love and mild.

It's time to move on from second guessing and to

go on with the blessings of God Almighty.

Y'all give me the wind.

If you're still in the same place you were spiritually

two years ago, a year ago, I dare to say

a week ago, I'm going daily.

If you're still there because you refuse.

To go beyond how, it's time we go beyond how,

and we start saying, Lord, let it be under.

Me, God, baptize me, God save me, God, use me, Lord,

feel me. God has great things in store.

For those that trust him and love him and say, Lord,

I'm moving past the hell God in my new prayers.

Let it be.

You can't keep on saying I'm not worthy. Pastors told

us countless times none of us are worthy. But I

refuse to not give God the honor and the praise

for saving my soul. I'm not gonna keep rejecting him

because I think I'm not worthy.

He knows you're not. I know i'm not.

But nevertheless, Oh thank God, that's the attitude to have. God.

I know I'm not, but oh thank.

God, you keep rejecting him with unwillingness.

That's what it is.

You could put a fancy name on it, however you

want to call it. But the two words that fitted

to a tea unwillingness and rebellion. Unwillingness hand rebellion. That's

the real issue. It's not that you're not worthy, it's

unwillingness and un rebellion.

Mary could have kept saying no, not so not so.

I know not a man.

I could have whenever I was praying God, I'm not

worthy to be saved. God, I'm not worthy to be saved.

God's gonna get sick.

Of hearing that.

God, I'm not worthy to have the Holy Ghost. Don't

go with him that attitude. Nobody wants to go into

a house where they know there's gonna be a bad attitude.

Where they know they're gonna receive bad company.

I think the scripture says he won't give that which

is holy unto the dogs.

Some dogs have a bad attitude.

You may have a doghouse that might be the house

God don't want to go into. As Elizabeth said in

verse forty five, blessed is she.

That believed? Blessed is she? Mary? Blessed? Are you? Thank

you for bringing my Lord? She said something about that

in there? Let me find it? Help me God forty three?

And whence is this to me that the mother of

my Lord shall come unto me?

Who Elizabeth knew from a child that that baby was

her savior and that that baby was her Lord? Blessing

my to have my king at a young age and

my first as they said immediately that she was greeted

with Mary, say that text change. She was failing with

the Holy goes. God's greeting you, God's greeting you tonight.

You might have to leave. I don't know what you

gotta do. But I say get fast. How it's time

to go beyond. It's time to say.

Let it be. I only believe blessed.

Is she.

That believed every child that God is blessed.

I don't care if you've been saved and your backslide,

your backslid, you're still blessed from that first saving. You

might have fallen away from grace. Don't get me wrong,

you're still not saved, but you still are blessed because

He saved you. You're the one that walked out on him.

So don't come back to the altar and say it's.

What I've done in my past. I can't get beyond it.

I'm sure there's some people in this world that has

done far worse things than you, but they're saved, shake defied,

holy ghost, feeled forgiving child of God.

They're living at the Lord. Let it be under me.

There's something that's wanting to be born in such that's

not only going to be life changing to you, but

to those around you. Bethel will feel the effects. We're

already a powerful church. What happens at the remainder.

Ah God, I have a feeling it would be something

like heaven.

Nothing but power from God Almighty. I want to experience

heaven on earth. I experienced a lot of it in

this church. But I promised you if there were some

more that would go past the how and would finally say, Lord,

let it be under me, we would have another out

for you. Like we did two and a half years ago.

We were a jumped from one to another.

We've all heard it once in our.

Life that the Holy Ghost jump from one to another.

I've watched it in every move of God we have,

not just I'm not saying to watch every service. Lord

knows I don't get my cup for you ain't gonna

hinder me. But I've watched it before before I had

the Holy Ghost. Let me put it that way, so

you don't learn to watch. And I got my blistered

many a time for watching instead of praying, instead of seeking.

So don't take that as a ticket to watch, my God.

But I've watched it jump from pastor to Sister Hall.

The sister wooton instantaneously. There ain't nobody that could connect

dynamite to explode at the same time the way the

Holy Ghost does. I don't care if you're the best

dynamite wire. God I'm iy can ignite every single holy

ghost filled person.

At the same moment, and you can have somebody in here,

timmt and it won't be a millisecond and between you

the power of the Holy ghost. You can experience that.

If you'll go beyond the hell and you start looking

at don't let it be.

God's got great things for you. Comes down to some men,

it's time you change your prayer.

Tonight, our pastors preached too many sermons for some people

not to be changed. It took one sermon for me,

one sermon. It scared me half to death when he

preached on God's assassin. I haven't heard a message preach

like that.

To you.

There's been some powerful one, but that was pretty much

God's saying He's coming after me. I heard God say,

your time's coming.

God.

God said some scary things, but yet you remain the same.

You're still stuck at how It's time you change your prayer. Lord,

live inside of me. God, I fully surrender. It's time

I submit to you God, whatsoever you desire.

Lord, let it be under me according to Thy word. God.

I can't deal with this anymore. It's time I go through.

It's time somebody goes through. Oh God, could you imagine

being married? I know already said it, but said I

get to be the mother of the Son of God.

It's an honor and a joy and a privilege to

say all the holy ghosts lives inside of me. It

ain't something that all those holy ghosts felled people just

carry around nonchalantly. I can promise you that every time

I pray, I thank God for it. But if you're unthankful,

when you're happy with being in the in the how,

God's never gonna give you his goodness. That's not what

I'm preaching tonight. I'm preaching that you can go behind.

You just gotta finally surrender. You just gotta finally submit

fully to God. Brother Jesse, come on around tonight.

There's the holy.

Ghost for each and every one of us. But we

gotta get past the how. We gotta quit worrying about

the win. Zacharias was dumb nine months. I think that's

about the I don't know what. Maybe things change back then,

but it says this space of life usually probably nine

to ten months. I couldn't imagine our pastor any of

us not being able to speak for nine months tonight

while the service was going on. You've heard people talk

about they say their fear is going blind. That's been

one of my fears. But tonight I had a new

fear unlocked as I prayed, and thank God, I told

what would it feel like to be death at this point?

To miss the tongues and interpretations that have went forth.

We ain't gonna have it. What if God was to

make what.

It's the time when tongues and interpretation going forth for

heads bowed and eyes closed, there's not gonna be nobody

doing sign language. And if I was unsaved, how would

I hear the warning of God? What if God said

it gives you dumbness, He gives you spiritual deafness.

Because He's pulled for you many times. H I don't know.

It's time for you to go beyond the hell and

it's time to experience joy everlasting, well peace of mind.

Let's all stand. Pastor talked tonight tonight for you to

get saved. But you're gonna have to come down here

at these altars and say, Lord, I've been praying, how

how how how how well? It's time tonight you go

ahead and you pray Lord, let it be under me

according to thy word. Let's go, come and find a

place to pray tonight.
