  1. The Holy ghost title dead or Alive unto Sin, and

  2. you'll understand what I mentioned a little while ago, the

  3. chain breaker and why I mentioned it here in just

  4. a little while Dead or Alive unto Sin? Brother Nathanielphesians,

  5. chapter number two and verse number one, Brother Jesse, Colossians,

  6. Chapter number two, verse number thirteen. I want to say

  7. thank you to the men of the church. You all

  8. have been doing a great job around here maintaining the facility.

  9. Thank you for the installation of various things over the

  10. week this past week. I appreciate it so much. We're

  11. blessed to have such talented people sitting in a pewes

  12. tonight to help the church family at save the church

  13. a lot of money. So thank you for being you.

  14. Thank you for doing that for your church family. Would

  15. y all give them a handclap of appreciation. Their labors

  16. of love are appreciated. What they did for you saved

  17. us twenty five hundred dollars. I thank God for them.

  18. That makes me want to make them a blueberry cobber.

  19. So just how would you arrange that?

  20. All right?

  21. Brother Nathan, you Ephesians chapter number two, verse number one,

  22. My brother and you hathy quickened, who were dead in

  23. trespasses and sins? All I notice that phrase, who were

  24. dead in trespasses and sins? Look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor,

  25. aren't you thankful you're no longer dead in sin? Brother

  26. Jesse Colossians chapter number two, verse number thirteen.

  27. And you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision

  28. of your flesh, hathy quickened together with him having forgiven

  29. you all trespasses.

  30. Did y'all notice that phrase again, dead in sin? So

  31. here in Ephesians chapter number two and verse number one,

  32. as well as Klaws chapter number two, in verse number thirteen,

  33. we find that phraser expression dead in sin. Now, if

  34. we'll turn to the Book of Romans, turn to chapter

  35. number six, we'll be reading verses number ten through eighteen.

  36. The Bible said for end that he died, he died

  37. unto sin once, but in that he liveth he liveth

  38. unto God. Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead,

  39. indeed unto sin, but alive unto God. Through Jesus Christ,

  40. our Lord. Let not sin, therefore reign in your mortal body,

  41. that ye should obey it in the lust thereof neither

  42. yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness, unto sin,

  43. But yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive

  44. from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness

  45. unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you.

  46. For ye are not under the law, but under grace.

  47. What then shall we sin? Because we are under the law,

  48. but under grace God forbid? What then shall we sin?

  49. Because we are not under the law, but under grace,

  50. God forbid? Look at that God forbid. Know ye not

  51. that to whom yield yourself servants to his servants, She

  52. are to whom you obey, whether of sin unto death,

  53. or of obedience unto righteousness. But God be thanked that

  54. you were the servants of sin. But you have obeyed

  55. from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you,

  56. and being then made free from sin, you became the

  57. servants of righteousness. May we pray heavenly fall. We thank

  58. you for the opportunity to be in your house tonight.

  59. I thank you for any and everything that you've done

  60. for this people. We thank you for protecting brother Samuel Howell.

  61. We thank you for sparing his life and putting up

  62. a hedge of protection to shield him from that bullet

  63. that passed by his head. Thank you for a praying

  64. church that prayed in the service before this one. For

  65. preservation and protection of the saints. We pray that you

  66. would anoint this thy service. Let them hear with the

  67. spirit of God, says unto the Church, and help meet God,

  68. anoint my lips. Help me to say nothing more or

  69. less than what you would have me to say. Say

  70. to guard at my mouth. I pray we give you

  71. praise and honor and glory. May we depart this place

  72. joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus' naming, The church said, Amen,

  73. praise the Lord. Looking at verse number eleven again our

  74. selected text tonight, the Bible says, likewise, make ye also

  75. yourselves to be dead, indeed unto sin, but alive unto

  76. God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Our text has found

  77. in a New Testament book of the Holy Bible. The

  78. Book of Romans is a Pauline epistle. In this sacred writing,

  79. the Great Apostle Paul had some things that he wanted

  80. to convey to the Christians in Rome, and I believe

  81. his purpose was this to strengthen them with his understanding

  82. of the Gospel. There is no doubt whatsoever in my

  83. mind or any Christian's mind, that Apostle Paul had a

  84. great grip on understanding the Gospel. In fact, in this

  85. Pauline epistle, around the sixteenth chapter and the twenty fifth verse,

  86. we will see that Apostle Paul wanted to see these

  87. saints of God established by the Lord, and he instructed

  88. them to give heed to the preaching of Jesus Christ.

  89. In other words, whatsoever had been said out of the

  90. mouth of the Messiah should be worth hearing, and after

  91. hearing whatever it was that Jesus had said, it would

  92. be worth heeding. So some of the apostles that accompanied

  93. Jesus during his earthly ministry were going around telling everybody

  94. that would listen, and even some who did not want

  95. to listen, about Jesus Christ. They were convinced that this

  96. man and his message were straight sent of the portals

  97. of glory unto mankind. So Apostle Paul, who had not

  98. yet been to Rome, when he put pen to parchment

  99. while in Corinth, he let Roman believers know that you

  100. need to be anchored on bedrock concerning doctrine. There is

  101. no doubt ninety five percent of the people in this

  102. building tonight made the assumption that if Paul wrote a

  103. book specifically addressed to the Romans, then he must have

  104. been there. No, he had not been there yet, but

  105. he intended to go because the spirit of God had

  106. made it clear that this man was to go to Rome.

  107. And during this particular time, the time of this writing,

  108. Apostle Paul would have not heard anything bad really about

  109. Nero because the city of Rome had not caught fire,

  110. and the Christians had not been yet blamed for burning

  111. the city of Rome.

  112. In other words, the.

  113. Great fires of Rome had not taken place. So Apostle

  114. Paul is writing to Roman believers and letting them know,

  115. you need to get founded in Jesus Christ, and you

  116. need to get rooted and grounded and established in doctrine,

  117. because there will come a time whenever Nero will rise

  118. up and things will be as.

  119. Clear as mud. You won't be able to have.

  120. A clear understanding if you don't get what you need now.

  121. So Apostle Paul preached Jesus Christ. And because he did that,

  122. and because he shored up these believers in Rome, when

  123. Nero blamed the city catching fire on the Christians. These

  124. Christians were rooted and established. And I wonder how many

  125. people in this building tonight are rooted in the Gospel

  126. of Jesus Christ. We can tell that so many professors

  127. of salvation are not possessors of salvation. I know that

  128. we feel that so many people today are saved. It's

  129. almost impossible to find a center now in these United

  130. States of America. When you engage in evangelistic outreach and

  131. you try to tell somebody about Jesus Christ. Everybody that

  132. you speak to Almos says, I'm saved, I'm blood bought,

  133. I'm a born again child up God. But I want

  134. to ask this question tonight, then why are they still

  135. tethered to sin? So the apostle Paul was letting these

  136. believers in Rome know that you've got to be anchored

  137. in the.

  138. Words of Jesus Christ.

  139. After reading through this writing over the last few days,

  140. it's clear to see by this writing that he intended

  141. to visit there. In fact, he had inquired concerning the

  142. leadership of the church in that region, and throughout this

  143. epistle he called a lot of them by name. I

  144. don't know about you all. But when I was and

  145. the Lord, I love to hear a preacher call out

  146. my name. And the reason for that was I felt

  147. like the Lord was mindful of me during that service.

  148. So writing this epistle Apostle, Paul strategically used the name

  149. of some very important, prominent people in a land that

  150. he had not yet visited, but yet he had a

  151. burden for those people, and Brother Nathaniel, he felt like

  152. whatever it was they had was genuine and real, but

  153. for whatever reason, it would not keep them because of

  154. the things forthcoming. What it was that lied on the

  155. horizon would have caused.

  156. A lot of them to lose their faith.

  157. And so when I read this particular Pauline epistle, I

  158. see that Paul felt like Christians should go beyond salvation

  159. and that they should walk into greater depths or for depths,

  160. and advance into an experience called sanctification. My wife is

  161. here tonight, and I remember the time that the Spirit

  162. of God dealt with a woman that did not know

  163. the details that I've shared with you all tonight about

  164. this man Paul in this writing the Book of Romans.

  165. But the Spirit of God dealt with her early on

  166. in her Christian experience that she needed to read the

  167. sixth and seventh and eighth chapter of the Book of Romans.

  168. And then God told her to repeatedly read the eighth

  169. chapter of the Book of Romans until He filled.

  170. Her with the Holy Ghost.

  171. And my wife went into a deeper experience in the Lord.

  172. So there's no doubt that the believers that were everywhere

  173. at the time of Apostle Paul understood that God grants

  174. unto people unmerited favor, and through Godless our old most

  175. will experience them a true repentance, and there will be

  176. genuine marks of conversion. And by the ruby red blood

  177. of Jesus, through faith, after confession of sin, by the

  178. avenue of Godless Sorah, there will be a sincere changing

  179. of the ways. If any man be in Christ, he

  180. is a new creature. All things have passed away. Behold,

  181. all things have become a new In other words, those

  182. that practiced are participated in a sinful lifestyle. They no

  183. longer live to a lifestyle of sinning.

  184. We are converted from a sinner to a saint.

  185. Paul taught that believers become new creatures and that we

  186. receive rediption of salvation because of Christ the blood, and

  187. it washing away our sin. But I want to put

  188. an emphasis on something here tonight. Apostle Paul made it

  189. cleariness epistle that we are to be sactified, and after

  190. that we are sactified, there should.

  191. Be a holy life.

  192. And I wonder how many people in this building tonight

  193. could say, after that I was converted, I found a

  194. holy life to be desirable. When I lived a lifestyle

  195. of sin, I found a holy life to be undesirable.

  196. In fact, I shunned it as somebody would have. Years

  197. ago the bluebonic plagued. But after I was a born again,

  198. a child of God with a new creature, a holy.

  199. Life was something that I desired.

  200. And if you look at our Golden text again in Romance,

  201. chapter number six and verse number eleven, it begins with

  202. a word like wise, and behind that word are these

  203. words reckon ye also yourselves to be dead, indeed unto sin,

  204. but elib unto God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Notice

  205. the following verse verse number twelve. Let not sin, therefore

  206. reign in your mortal body, that she should obey it

  207. in the lust thereof Looking again at the.

  208. First word of that eleventh verse.

  209. Like Wise, we as believers are to consider what was

  210. true of Jesus Christ is to be true of us.

  211. And the preceding verse to our golden text of verse

  212. number ten tells us what was true of Jesus Christ.

  213. The first thing it tells us is he died unto

  214. sin wants. The second thing that it tells us is

  215. now he liveth unto God. And then our gold the

  216. text begins with them likewise meaning if it was true

  217. in the case of Christ, and it should be true

  218. in your case. My eldest son, brother Jeremiah Howell, is

  219. in the building tonight. He is our sound technician here

  220. after Beta Holiness Church. And each week we witnessed this

  221. man new and his dead level best to offer spiritual

  222. nourishment to people at home and abroad through Hope of Radio,

  223. through our radio broadcast through podcasts after podcast this brother

  224. tries to extend a handful of spiritual nourishment to sustain

  225. spiritual life. In fact, some of you have moved to

  226. Label Florida and made this your home church. And after

  227. first hearing the preaching that this brother podcast and are

  228. broadcast own Hope Radio, and so he does that with

  229. a dignity of grace and a reference, and a lot

  230. of people in this building respect him for what he

  231. does for our church. But naturally and professionally, on a

  232. daily basis, he does not support people that are children

  233. of God always. Sometimes they are children of this world,

  234. or to be more specific, they are children of their father,

  235. the devil. He is an undertaker, so professionally on a

  236. daily basis, he supports families with love and empathy during

  237. their time of loss of life. Simply stating, he offers

  238. a large funeral service to those that are dealing with

  239. a dead so no wonder he welcomes and embraces an

  240. opportunity to sustain spiritual life through spiritual nourishment through the

  241. Avenue of Hope Radio. And truly he must get tired

  242. of dealing with a deceased on a daily basis. And

  243. I remember the first time he went to work for

  244. wilbrit Funeral Services, and he was about ten years ago,

  245. a decade ago, when my boy said, I'm gonna begin.

  246. A career of dealing with the deceased.

  247. And I remember him telling his mama to meet unknown

  248. people because of the dirt and the ash on the

  249. sole of his shoes. He was letting us know that

  250. he had stomped over the top of some his grave,

  251. or perhaps during a cremation somebody's ash had trickled down

  252. and lighted upon his shoe. There is no doubt this

  253. man deals with the deceased tenderly. Sister Wooding, I'm sure

  254. that the people that are involved, especially the funeral directors

  255. and the loving family members, notice just how careful he

  256. is while dealing with the dead. For the jeermis responsible

  257. for disposing her or depositing the remains of people, and

  258. he's done that now for a decade. Before church tonight,

  259. I asked him, I said, how many people do you

  260. deal with on a monthly basis? Somebody take a guess

  261. on a monthly basis, he said, sometimes as high as

  262. a hundred, but on average I deal with a deceased

  263. people on a monthly basis. Sometimes that numbers a little higher,

  264. sometimes that numbers a little lower. For the mathematicians in

  265. this building tonight, you could do some number crutching, and

  266. in less than fifteen seconds you could tell us that

  267. brother Nathaniel, brother Jesse, and brother jer Miles, brother Jonathan,

  268. brother Buport, all of these men that are undertakers or

  269. have been undertakers, have dealt with thousands of deceased people

  270. throughout their career. But brother Jeer Miles dealt with more

  271. deceased people than anybody in this building. Somewhere between eight

  272. thousand and ten thousand bodies have been dealt with by

  273. the man sitting in that samboo tonight. And I want

  274. you to know, for half of his career there he

  275. lived with his mother and I, and for the other

  276. half he.

  277. Lived with his bride Leah.

  278. And I know his mother and I and as well

  279. as sister Leah, we can say there has not been

  280. a timer when Jeremiah come home from work where he

  281. brought a dead person with him. I'm preaching now you're

  282. getting it, hey mare, Come on, brother Jeremiah. Do you

  283. recall a single incident we're a funeral director or a

  284. family member of the deceased that called you and said, Jeremiah,

  285. hurry up and come over here to such and such

  286. a cemetery because either George or George Etta has dug

  287. themself out. George or George Etta is crawling around. No

  288. death is final. Are you a getting what I'm saying

  289. here to night? The apostle all what's making her clear

  290. to the Christian believers in Rome that Jesus died and

  291. the sin wat's and he lived and the God wants

  292. him And next way you're supposed to be with believers,

  293. you're supposed to be dead to sin whats Oh thank God, I'm.

  294. Telling you here to now.

  295. When I look the people that claim to be born again,

  296. new creatures, recipients of new life, and they tell me

  297. they are a Christian, I don't understand why they're dragon.

  298. The dead man around. And I don't.

  299. Understand why they're tethered or attached her to their own

  300. simple lostyle. I don't understand why they're tethered or attached

  301. her to old friends. I don't understand why they did

  302. not get to a new playlist. I don't know why

  303. they didn't die us in. But I'm looking at people

  304. in this building the night that could say the night

  305. I got saved, sain die, Jesus lived. Un to me, amen,

  306. I'm a feeling of preaching now. Recently, Sister Hawill said

  307. goodbye to her big brother, Charlie Lee Bath, and she

  308. said goodbye for the last time. It was one of

  309. the saddest things that I've ever experienced. We walked into

  310. that intensive care unit, and Brother Jesse, when we saw

  311. him lying there on the bed, we knew that was

  312. not a get well soon bed. We knew that was

  313. not thou shalt recover bed. We knew it was the

  314. death bed. And I remember after about an hour and

  315. a half long visit, for no visit would have been

  316. long enough. I remember seeing my bride up over thirty years,

  317. walk over there and look at her big brother, and

  318. her heart broke and big teardrops begin to roll down

  319. them pretty.

  320. Cheeks, and Brother Jesse.

  321. I walked up behind Jamma and put my hand on

  322. her shoulder, and I said, it's okay, go ahead talk

  323. to him, tell him you love him, tell him you're

  324. gonna miss him. Go ahead, speak your final words to him.

  325. And Sister Wounding it was her final address to her brother.

  326. And when we walked away from his death bed, we

  327. knew we would never see him again alive. Are y'all

  328. listening to me? We would never see him again alive

  329. in this life? And a golden text again Romans six

  330. and eleven. Likewise, and reckon ye also yourself to be dead,

  331. indeed unto sin did you catch it up likewise, reckon

  332. you yourself to be dead indeed unto sin. The first

  333. time I heard the expression dead as a door knell,

  334. I was a young kid, probably in middle school, brother Jesse,

  335. maybe around the age of a junior high student, and

  336. somebody said, we're gonna have the Christmas play written by

  337. Charles Dickens. I said, what is the title of this

  338. Christmas play, this poet playright wrote?

  339. And they said, A Christmas Carol. And as we.

  340. Held that little pamphlet or leaflet in our hands and

  341. we thumbed through it, saw something that stood out to

  342. me then, just the same way that praise.

  343. Stood out to me the last night, during a time

  344. of prayer. Dead as a door naill.

  345. Now I'm in the eighteen hundreds when Charles Dickens, who

  346. was alive. Everybody that knew anything about fasteners and knew

  347. that if you used a certain type of fastiener and

  348. hit the building, that that fastener and those fashioners was

  349. holding together was to be destroyed or damaged.

  350. Or even burnt to the ground.

  351. A lot of times people could go and they could

  352. gather the nails or the fasteners and repurposed them specifically

  353. reuse them as fasteners again. But when it come to carpentry,

  354. specifically setting a doorway and setting a door, they would

  355. have to install that fastener or that door door nail

  356. in such a way that it would manipulate the integrity.

  357. And just come on, are y'all getting what I'm talking about?

  358. Of that pastor, than when the carpinger set the nail,

  359. he knew it says, good as dead. I give it

  360. my final pounding, I give it my final address. Because

  361. now that has been set in the gem. Come on, now,

  362. it is as dead as a doornail. Are y'all getting it?

  363. It's not gonna be picked up, It's not gonna be repurposed,

  364. It's not gonna be reused.

  365. He says, dead as a door nail.

  366. Now, when Apostle Paul was talking to the Church and

  367. Emphasis and the Church of Colossie, he said, when you

  368. were sinners, you were dead in your sin. You were

  369. lost in your trespassesm you were dead in your sin.

  370. In other words, spiritually you had no life. You had

  371. already been sentenced a damnation in hell fire. But once

  372. Jesus saved your soul, you became alive, eternal life. It's

  373. yours instead of eternal death. And I want you to

  374. know our preaching to some people here the night, proud

  375. of your conversion. You are dead in sin as long

  376. as sin dominate your life. But as long as you

  377. figure out a way to repurpose it, along as you

  378. figure out a way to use it over and over

  379. and over again, you are not dead to it. You're

  380. dead in it. You're dead in it. You're dead in it.

  381. But when the carpenter set that now it was the

  382. last time it would be used. What remained of your past, sinner?

  383. What remains of your past? Christian?

  384. Are y'all with me?

  385. What remains in your house? What remains in your temple?

  386. Know ye not that your body is the temple of

  387. the Holy Ghost. Are y'all listening to me? God said,

  388. a man cannot have two masters. You cannot be alive

  389. unto the spirit of this world and alive unto the

  390. Spirit of God.

  391. Come on, now, somebody ain't getting it.

  392. You need to let God fasten you tonight as a

  393. nail in a short place, so that no weapon formed

  394. agets you can stand, so that when the enemy comes

  395. in like a flood, the spirit of God can raise

  396. up a standard against it.

  397. And if God.

  398. Before you are what can be against you, and no

  399. weapon formed.

  400. Against you specifically to.

  401. Your demise of or destruction will be successful. Come on now,

  402. if you are dead to sin, but if you are

  403. dead in sin, you are all ready a recipient of

  404. a death, sentence of eternal death.

  405. Come on now.

  406. I remember years ago looking at a national geographic magazine,

  407. and in that magazine even some of the tribal people

  408. in remote places could understand that the power of being

  409. tethered to something, the power of being tethered to something.

  410. So I'm gonna say.

  411. Again, I have not seen a dead man crawling up

  412. and out of a grave yet, I have not seen

  413. one tale brother Jeremiah the way from a cemetery to

  414. his house. Because once it's dead, it's dead. What's that door?

  415. Nails been set, it's dead. That's how you should be.

  416. With the lust of the flesh and the pride of life,

  417. you gotta be dead to sin. I don't want to

  418. be tethered in my old ways. I don't want to

  419. be tethered to my own way of thinking. I don't

  420. want to be attached to my own way of life.

  421. I don't want to be tethered to the pub. I

  422. don't want to be tethered to the club. I'm telling

  423. you here to not you're not getting it. But even

  424. though tribal people are supposed to be ignorant and unlearned,

  425. they knew the value.

  426. Of tethering something the something.

  427. And I remember coming through that National Geographic magazine.

  428. And looking at what seemed to be small frame tribal

  429. young people.

  430. But brother, they were controlling or manipulating very large elephants,

  431. and I wondered, how are they doing that? And those

  432. very large elephants would have the smallest of vines wrapped

  433. around their big the feet, and that small vine on

  434. the other end would be tied to the smallest of trees,

  435. a banana tree or something. And I thought, if that

  436. old elephant just knew all he had to do was

  437. pick up that foot, he wouldn't have to worry about

  438. ripping the banana tree out. I mean, this thing could

  439. rip out a cypress tree, or a bay tree, or

  440. an old tree.

  441. But he just.

  442. Snapped that little green vine like it was nothing at all,

  443. like it was a matchstick. But that elephant wouldn't even

  444. a tempt to be free from it. Wouldn't even attempt

  445. to shake loose from it. Y'all getting it now, ain't you?

  446. And I wondered, why is this? Why is this the

  447. nature this beast?

  448. Why is it not fighting? Why is it no longer struggling?

  449. Why is it not yet resisting? What's going on with

  450. this elephant? And then the article of the journalists describe

  451. this process said that whenever that elephant is very young,

  452. the tribal leaders and the hunters of them tribes, they

  453. go on a hunt and they find a little orphan elephant,

  454. or they kill mama elephant or a bull elephant, if

  455. needs be, and they harvest one or two or three

  456. of them little elephants, and bring that cute little trunk,

  457. swing and beast them into their village, and they tie

  458. it with a decent sized rope, a sizeable rope, in fact,

  459. and they anchor it to a sizeable tree, and that

  460. little elephant will pull on it, and with that trunk,

  461. it'll blow what sounds like a trumpet, and it will

  462. let mama that is deceased, and the bull ell that

  463. in no, I'm being held captive against my will. I'm

  464. being held here against my will, with somebody come to

  465. my rescue. And they said they'll pool against it, and

  466. sister how they'll strug go for freedom. But then one

  467. day their spirit dies and they no longer have the

  468. fight for freedom, They no longer have the desire to

  469. run with the elephant herd. And that's where somebody's act tonight.

  470. You can stay tethered the Jim Beam and Jack Daniels.

  471. And the Club Hoh in the pub, or come on

  472. now and the ways of this world all you want to.

  473. But I'm sayingful for every person there's still got some

  474. fight in them that are still putting up an active

  475. resistance against the devil. Somebody in this bed in the

  476. night needs to tell Lucifer, I'm done being on your lease.

  477. I'm tired of you jerking my chain. Do you not

  478. realize you are a slave to Satan when you don't

  479. have control over yourself, when you can't seize from sin?

  480. Do you not realize you're being held captain? You say, well,

  481. I'm as big Ha's that elephant.

  482. I'm strong, my will is great. I ain't on heroin,

  483. I ain't on crack cocaine. I give you that, but

  484. you're bound. I said, I give you that. What you're bound.

  485. You're still tethered to the old nature. You're still attached

  486. to the old man. Some of you are getting it.

  487. I remember being dead to sind.

  488. When I got up from the altar, I realized I'm

  489. no longer dead in sin.

  490. I'm dead to sin.

  491. There's former drug users and drug pushers in this building

  492. that could say, I remember the difference. Years I spent

  493. in vanity and pride, years I spent being dead in sin.

  494. But when I knelt, the blood felt so good, so refreshing,

  495. and it soothed my doubts, and it calmed my fears,

  496. had dried up my tears. It's given me strength to

  497. defeat the enemy. It's given me strength, Brother Nathaniel, I

  498. don't understand what is the fascination of this world to

  499. so many? Why are so many not sinsick, yet they're

  500. so sin soiled and sin soaked. Why is it the

  501. young people at the Bethelholeness Church tonight amongst eighty could

  502. be struggling with things they've been struggling with for five

  503. to ten years. Why is it, Sister Howell, that they

  504. will walk out of this church tonight, Not everybody, but

  505. four or five of us it's here tonight, we'll walk

  506. right back into the same situation, into the same scenario,

  507. and I'm gonna make this.

  508. Real clear for you.

  509. You'll go right out there with your big bad self,

  510. and you'll tie a little vine around your ankle, and

  511. you'll say, the big bad devil told me I can't

  512. go to church. The big bad devil told me I

  513. couldn't serve Jesus.

  514. The big bad devil.

  515. Elephant just had enough desire to rear up on its

  516. hind legs and just thrust its weight forward. It would

  517. snap the little gourd vine. They ain't getting it.

  518. Son.

  519. Thirty two years ago, I finally got tired of things

  520. grace that separated me from God. Thirty two years ago,

  521. like Brother Gabriel said, I wasn't having any problems. I

  522. didn't have an enemy in this world that I knew of.

  523. I had never had a drop of alcohol, I had

  524. never used any drugs, had never battled with nicotine, didn't

  525. struggle with fornication, walked out of the locker room when

  526. people viewed pornography. But there was a god's size void

  527. and a hold in my heart. And I remember thinking, God,

  528. I'm so miserable I'm so unhappy. It's not that I

  529. have an enemy in the world. What in the world

  530. is going on? And I realized, Brotherhood, I was dead

  531. in sin. And if the spirit of God can move

  532. upon a valley of dead, dry bones tonight in our

  533. mitst like it did a fifty four year old in

  534. North Alabama, a backslider running from the will and the

  535. planet of God, that the spirit of God could blow

  536. over a dead soul tonight, Ezekiel was told to preach

  537. into a valley that was full of dry bones, very

  538. dry bones. And I'm sure he wondered, what will that

  539. preach and accomplish? And the Holy Good? Said Prophesy, son

  540. of Man, Prophesy. And that's my only hope is why

  541. a fifty year old preachers preaching one more time? You

  542. grew up as a kid watching me do this. That's

  543. my only hope. That this is not falling on deaf ears,

  544. that this is not falling on dead bodies. My only

  545. hope is there's some spirit behind it tonight. I love

  546. it when sons become brothers. I love it when daughters

  547. become sisters. I love it when wives become sisters. I

  548. was thankful that night my fiance had become my sister

  549. into faith. Well, Preacher, I still struggle with the things

  550. that I've struggle with for years. Can I ask you? Why?

  551. Can I ask you why you're allowing that what is

  552. supposed to be dead to dig its way out and

  553. to crawl out of the cemetery and knock on the

  554. front door of your house and say, I'm temptation, I'm

  555. here for you.

  556. Why do you allow.

  557. That zombie of yourself in the past to crawl out

  558. of that grave and crawl through that cemetery where you

  559. tried to bury it and come to your house and

  560. knock on your heart's door.

  561. Why do you keep opening the door?

  562. I saw God begin to deal with a young man

  563. about twenty years ago, and I knew he was dead

  564. in his sin because I saw what his sin was

  565. doing to him. It was sapping every bit of life

  566. out of him. It was destroying him. And I stood

  567. in a parking lot and I talked to him for

  568. two and a half hours. I took him through the Bible.

  569. But but in the back of his mind, he had

  570. the way he wanted to do it already planned out.

  571. And here's what he said.

  572. He said, I'm gonna go talk to the Baptist minister,

  573. and I'm gonna ask him what does he think about it?

  574. He said, I'm disclose to kneeling down in this parking

  575. lot praying with you. He said, I feel almost electrified.

  576. I feel the Holy Ghost anointing. I feel conviction haul

  577. over me right now. I feel a need to pray.

  578. But I was raised Baptist, and I need to know

  579. what Baptist minister said. I said, when's the last time

  580. you've been to church? He said, oh, probably nine ten years.

  581. I said, so you need to go talk to him.

  582. I'm standing out here and love to your soul. Just

  583. spent two and a half hours. This was before everybody

  584. had a cell phone. My wife thought my guts were

  585. smeared on the highway. She didn't know what was going on.

  586. She was calling people saying, my husband didn't make it

  587. home with y'all go find him. And when they found me,

  588. I was out there pouring my life out, my energy

  589. after working a ten hour shift, talking to that man

  590. in the dark, swatting mosquitoes and trying to tell him

  591. you don't have to keep living a lifestyle of sin.

  592. He said, I'm gonna go talk to another minister. I said,

  593. you are He said, yeah, I'm a member of that church.

  594. They baptized me when I was five. I said, listen,

  595. I got saved. And when I got saved, I quit

  596. going here, here, and here and here with you. And

  597. I said that minister ain't checked on you in about

  598. a decade. I'm your friend. I'm telling you can kneel

  599. down right here and get it right now. He went

  600. and talked to his pastor and a minister, an adult

  601. class Sunday school teacher at the Baptist church. He said,

  602. when he walked in, he said, hey, you want to

  603. go down on the bulls. I in, you want to

  604. go have a beer. Well, I'll come talk to you

  605. about Jesus. Well he's thinking about going to the bulls.

  606. I in, have beer, so we'll talk about it. And

  607. so they sit down on a barstool and started talking

  608. about the Savior and that Baptist adn't class Sunday school

  609. teacher told him, Hey, you ain't got to listen to

  610. anything about what that man saying. You've got to die

  611. to sin, You've got to die to selfish desire, sinful lust.

  612. You ain't got to listen to that preacher. He said,

  613. we're all sinners. We're all sinners. I believe that we

  614. are saved by faith through grace is to get to God.

  615. I also believe in Jesus requiring godly sorrow, and when

  616. He forgives us so greatly in such a one for manner,

  617. and go in to sin and no more. But that

  618. man came to work the next day and he said, well,

  619. I went and talked to the adult class, a Sunday

  620. school teacher at the Baptist church that I was somewhat

  621. affiliated with. I said, ain't that the guy you used

  622. to drink beer with a little bit? Yeah, I said, wow,

  623. So you went and talked to him about your soul.

  624. Wrong spirit? You know, that's what they call that stuff, spirits?

  625. I said, wrong spirit. He said, yeah, I did. He said,

  626. I don't have to go to church to be saved.

  627. He said, I don't have to change. I don't have

  628. to become a new creature. This whole message is proven tonight.

  629. We got to die of selfish desires, sinful lust. We

  630. got a dire to the die of the flesh, and

  631. we had to live into the spirit of God. Well,

  632. I could give you names right now, and both of

  633. them men would allow you to call them because they

  634. know it's the truth, and they know Brother Jeremy Howe

  635. preaches the truth.

  636. Y'all want to know the end of that story.

  637. That man that I stood out there witnessing to and

  638. swat mosquitoes that that night, decided not to pray and

  639. do it the Bible way, that adult Sunday school teacher.

  640. After about five years, he took his wife. Now, you

  641. can play church all you want to, but I've seen

  642. sin take people to suicide. I've seen sin split marriages.

  643. I've seen sin bust up families. I've seen sin pull

  644. daughters out of mother's loving arms and make them addicts.

  645. We have a jail ministry. We go in there and

  646. see the results of people that are dead in sin.

  647. But the good news is we can tell them they

  648. don't have to die an addict. They don't have to

  649. die victim to suicide. They don't have to die miserable,

  650. they don't have to die lost and undone without God.

  651. The Bible said whom the Son makes free is free. Indeed,

  652. I've never heard any captives say I'm experiencing freedom without

  653. measure or freedom in abundance. You know when you're held

  654. captive by your captor. You know when you're a slave.

  655. Come on, we read it here tonight. We know who

  656. we're bound to. We know who we're enslave to. We

  657. know who jerks our chain. Oh come on, are you

  658. dad is Sin? Or dad to Sin? I want to

  659. call for an altar here in just a minute. But

  660. it's time we have a wake up call. I want

  661. to ask you here tonight, what's calling you already? Who's

  662. jerking your chain already? His nicotine calling on you already?

  663. His alcohol is I'm jerking your chain already, his drug addiction.

  664. I've seen him right out of church instead of running

  665. the altar and hide behind cars.

  666. In the parking lot and hit it.

  667. Come on now, because their master called them. Amen, Oh

  668. that I had a pray in church tonight as I

  669. pulled for their prodigals, you prayed over Oh that I

  670. headed alive church tonight there was on fire to pray

  671. victory in this house. I'm not gonna lock out a

  672. crack addict whose eyes are recessed in their color, who

  673. are skinning bulls and tell them you have abundant life,

  674. because what they will say is I am captive.

  675. So I've learned to speak truth to them. You need deliberates.

  676. You need deliberates, And I've seen people man particularly that

  677. would drink I believe a dozen beers a day.

  678. He came to that altar.

  679. Right there, knelt down and prayed we didn't have to

  680. send him the alcoholic anonymous publicly he said, I was

  681. a truck card, but.

  682. I am no longer. Dad Is said, I am dead

  683. to sin. How about you to night? Are you dead

  684. in sin or dead to sin?

  685. Because when you get truly born again, he washes away

  686. the guilt and of shame. I'm gonna say it again.

  687. That young man's sister, how that I witnessed to while

  688. you wondered, was your husband dead?

  689. On the highway?

  690. He went and talked to the Baptist church adopt sonny

  691. school of class teacher, and he used all kind of Bible.

  692. But that young man stole the adult Sunday school classes.

  693. Teacher's wife. They were two of my best friends when

  694. I was in sin. When I was dead in sin,

  695. I partied with them when I was dead in sin.

  696. They enticed me. They said, it's just a wine cooler,

  697. It ain't huh, sister, waiting to finally I have felt liberty.

  698. We got through to somebody just now, Brother Nathaniel, I

  699. remember that night I became dead to sin. I went

  700. there dead in sin, and I came out of there

  701. dead to sin. If any man being Christ, he is

  702. a new creature. If you look at that. Literally, a

  703. new creation means you go in there looking like a

  704. mangled up menace and monstrous society, and you stand up

  705. blood born again. It means the Paul Lane Epistle, Arthur

  706. the Apostle, Paul himself can say I was once Christianity's

  707. greatest persecutor, but now I'm her greatest promoter, Brother Philip.

  708. That's why I believe the prodigals are coming. This church

  709. ain't gonna stop growing at eighty. You're gonna see people come.

  710. You know what I want to see them come with

  711. tattoos from head to toe.

  712. You know what I want to see.

  713. I want to see them that are dead in the

  714. sin of homosexuality praying this altar and come clean of

  715. that death style. I'd be just fine for a murderer

  716. or an illegal to pray right here. I'd be fine

  717. with an adulter, an adulterous, a prostitute, a thief, because

  718. that's what Apostle Paul told the print in church. He said,

  719. in a list, very long list, he said, in fact,

  720. all of you I'm preaching to right now, such were

  721. some of you fornicators, idolatrs sister Wood and I wonder

  722. who who he had in print to ses huh oh idolatre.

  723. I wonder if he was to put a caption over

  724. all of our heads tonight, what it would say when

  725. we were dead in Sin.

  726. I tell you because he can take it.

  727. My adult sony school class teacher is a sweet man,

  728. one of the finest Christian men you ever meet. But

  729. the caption that nobody knows about that Jesus knew said, Well,

  730. the night he saved you was rebel drug user, raised

  731. in the home of people that what made meth drugs,

  732. sold drugs, raided your house, took your daddy to prison.

  733. You mother, come here. That was when you and your

  734. family were dead in Sin. But I'll show you the difference.

  735. Somebody get his Sunday school podium. We're in overtime tonight.

  736. We won't be this long Sunday morning and Sunday night.

  737. I don't want anybody to get discouraged and leaving. I'm

  738. not trying to wear you out. I'm trying to help

  739. some people in here that need help, that are sick

  740. of sin. This is a far cry from being in

  741. a wife beater getting body slammed.

  742. Somebody's feeling it.

  743. They barged into your daddy house, right, they pushed your

  744. daddy to the floor.

  745. Was a swat team.

  746. Swat team come in unexpected like that when your family

  747. was dead in sin. But now, Sister Woodin, I don't

  748. hold it against brother Justin. I sit in that sound

  749. booth and I hear him teach Sister Cindy, and I

  750. never think about him being a drug addict. I never

  751. think about his daddy being in prison. All I see

  752. is an upstanding Christian dead to sin because of the power.

  753. I see that tear flowing down your face because you're

  754. his mother in law. Let me wipe it for you.

  755. When he got saved, he started liking your daughter. He

  756. came into the church a sinner and started liking your daughter,

  757. and you knew he's no longer who he used to be.

  758. He can have my daughter, and I'm not worried about

  759. him slipping Our youth pastor and our youth group illicit substances,

  760. because if he was still dead in sin, I'd be

  761. scared to death, and I'd be checking the video surveillance.

  762. But I believe he's dead to that sin. Are y'all

  763. with me right now? Are y'all feeling this old? That

  764. Heaven's white team would barge in this place right now,

  765. and that Heaven's high Sheriff would arrest every soul and

  766. bring them into Holy ghost captivity and make them his

  767. love slave. As the spirit moves, these altars are open

  768. as there's somebody in this building. Perhaps you've been in

  769. church for a long time. You've been dead in sin

  770. too long, Preacher. I've been fighting against it. I've been

  771. struggling it. It just keeps coming. I'm giving you an opportunity.

  772. Come on quickly, everybody, bay your head, close your eyes.

  773. It's just like a thin vine.

  774. You've just been bound so long you don't realize how

  775. easy it is to be liberated. If I had a

  776. measure and tape tonight, I could pull it from your

  777. pew to the altar, and I could tell you just

  778. how close you are to being free.

  779. You're so close. Is there somebody? Maybe a howl?

  780. Maybe one of my grandkids, maybe one of brother rode

  781. caps kids.

  782. Is there somebody right now? You will move? Come on?

  783. Come on, I remember moving thirty two years ago. Come on,

  784. I'm not against anybody. I'm for you. I'm for us

  785. getting past this young person who's jerking your chain right now?

  786. Brother Nathaniel, do you have a chain in your office?

  787. You do?

  788. I had no idea of that. We've got one in

  789. the altar right now. Is there another? Don't act like

  790. your chain to it, Admit it and say God, I'm

  791. chained to it. He's a chain breaker, drug addiction and

  792. has got control of me. Alcoholism has taken its toll

  793. on me. Sin reigns in my mortal body. I can't

  794. cease from Sin. I can't stop with the attitude problem.

  795. Perhaps there's somebody that's so explosive. Anger is your master?

  796. Is there somebody else? Come on, come on, service is

  797. almost over. Let's give you an opportunity. Here's another. Any sisters,

  798. any young women, anybody want to come clean with Jesus tonight?

  799. Here's another. There's three? Is there another? Are you dead

  800. in or dead to you?

  801. Sin?

  802. Jesus, Jesus, I'm gonna lay this chain on this altar

  803. as a testimony that there's two more that need to

  804. be in the altar because God has showed me who

  805. they are. Here's one, is there another? There's four in

  806. the altar.

  807. Listen.

  808. I will use plainness of speech. Most preachers wouldn't dare

  809. go this far. But if pornography's calling you right now,

  810. your chain to sin is displeasing to God. If alcohol

  811. is calling you right now, you're chained to sin. That

  812. is displeasing the God. If hatred and malice and jealousy, bitterness, unforgiveness,

  813. there's one. Those are sins that are displeasing the God.

  814. Pray for me, brother Nathaniel, unforgiveness. Let's just bring it

  815. right on into the loving Church family, unforgiveness and anger?

  816. Where yet? Where yet? Come on?

  817. So we got five? Anybody else? Brother Jesse? I guess

  818. I'll have to read it. And what concord hath Christ

  819. with Beliah all? Or what part hath he that believeth

  820. with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of

  821. God with idols? For ye are the temple the Living God,

  822. as God hath said? I will dwell in them and

  823. walk in them, and I will be their God, and

  824. they shall be my people. Wherefore, come out from among

  825. them and be separate, Saith the Lord, and touch not

  826. the unclean thing. And I will receive you, and I

  827. will be a father unto you, and ye shall be

  828. my sons and daughters. Saith the Lord God Almighty. Let's

  829. continue to pray with heads bowed and eyes closed one

  830. more time.

  831. Before we pray with these? Is there one or two

  832. more that would come?

  833. Come on.

  834. You can't be dead in and dead too at the

  835. same time. Okay, this is it.

  836. May Heaven's record or record that I tried this night

  837. in the year twenty twenty six, in the month of

  838. March to pull and made heavens recorder record that I

  839. wash my hands of the matter, and that I commit

  840. what only God can do to his care, because only

  841. he can forgive sins and only he can save souls.

  842. And I want to ask praying people together around with

  843. these if you would and specifically pray for them. I

  844. don't know what bias, I don't know what it is

  845. going on inside their head. I don't know what's going

  846. on inside their spirit, their soul, but I'd love to

  847. see them set free tonight whom the Lord has made

  848. free is free. Indeed, freedom is yours if you want it.

  849. It was here, it is here.
