Who's Going To Pay For The Waste? - Bro Ray Asher 3-18-2026

I do want to say, and please don't think that

I'm I'm thankful, but I do want to thank you

for all that y'all have done for us while we've

been here. The wonderful place you provided for us to stay,

the food that you provide, the meals that you've provided,

and the just and beyond all that, the fellowship, beyond

all of that, just the fellowship to be with you,

and I thank God for it. You've made us feel

at home, You've made us feel welcome, and we love you,

and we'll be missing you and hope to be back.

Amen.

I want you to go with me to the Book of

Luke Luke chapter fifteen. Luke chapter fifteen.

Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners

for to hear him, and the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying,

this man receiveth sinners and edith with them. He spake

this parable under them, saying, what man of you, having

an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth

not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and

go after that which is lost until he find it.

When he had found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends

and neighbors, saying under them, rejoice with me, for I

have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto

you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over.

One sinner that repenteth.

More than over ninety and nine just persons which need

no repentance either. What woman, having ten pieces of silver,

if she lose one piece, does not light a candle

and sweep the house and seek diligently till she find it.

And when she had found it, she calleth her friends

and her neighbors together, saying, rejoice with me, for I

have found the peace which I had lost. Likewise, I

said to you, there is joy in the presence of

the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

And he said.

A certain man had two sons, and the younger of

them said to his father, father, give me the portion

of goods that falleth to me, and he divided under

them his living. Not many days after, the younger son

gathered all together and took his journey into a far country,

and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And we

had spent all their rolls of mighty famine in that

landing to be he got to be him wont and

he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country,

and he sent him into his fields to feed swine,

and he would faint, and filled his belly with the

husk that the swine did eat, and no man gave

unto him. And when he came to himself, he said,

how many hired servants of my father's have bread enough

in despair, and I perish with hunger. I will arise

and go to my father and will send him. Father,

I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and I'm

no more worthy to be called thy son, make me

as one of thy hired servants. He arose and came

to his father, And while he was yet a great

way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and

ran and fell on his neck and kissed him, and

the son sat unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven,

and then I sighed, and am no more worthy to

be called thy son. But the father said to his servants,

bring forth the best robe and put it on him,

and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on

his feet, and bring hither the fighting calf and kill it,

and let us ee and be married. For this my

son was dead and is alive again. He was lost

and is found, and they began to be marry. Now

his elder son was in the field. As he came

and drew an out of the house, he heard music

and dancing. And he called one of the servants and

asked what these things meant. When he said, unto him,

thy brother has come, and thy father has killed the

fatic calf, because he hath received him safe and sound

when he was angry, will not go in. Therefore his

father came out and entreated him. And he answered and

said to his father, Lo, these many years do I

serve thee neither transgresshi at any time thy commandment? And

yet thou never gave est me a kid that I

might make marry with my friends. But as soon as

this thy son was come, which had devoured thy living

with harlots, thus killed for him the fattic calf. And

he said, son, thou art ever with me all I

have is thine. It was meet that we should make marry,

and be glad for this. Thy brother was dead and

is alive again, was lost and is found. Early this morning,

the Lord got to dealing with me about this passage

of scripture. And I know that these verses, Brother Howell,

had been preached many times by far, far, far greater

preachers than I could ever even attain to, because I

looked at him today, I saw it seemingly in a

light I had never seen it before. And one made

a comment one time that why was this parable not

mentioned by Matthew or Mark or John? And my answer

to that is, simply after Luke brought it how pay

he did. What could you have added to the parable

of the prodigal Son? What could you have put in

this that would have made it any better? What could

you made it any clearer? Amen, he Man, Jesus is preaching.

He Man and mass say that Jesus knows everybody that's

in the crowd. And Jesus doesn't miss anybody that's in

the crowd. He didn't see the scribes and Pharisees and

immediately changes message to try to placate them.

He didn't look over.

There at that one center man say I'm gonna change

my whole message for you. He knew everybody that was

in that building, and he was there that preach to

all of them, just as he is here tonight, and

as he.

Preached of the Republicans and sinners describes, and pharisees murmured,

and they said, he eats with sinners, he receives them.

He's friendly with them, not like us who are holding

him at arms lenked all the time, not like us

who are continuously fault finding with them, not like us

who want to he may count them as son lower

class than us. And now Jesus starts his parable Amen,

and he starts it out by saying, what man of

you he's talking to the pharisees here, what man of you?

Having a hundred sheep? They knew what he was talking about,

and you lost one of them, one of them went

off into the wilderness.

You would leave the ninety and nine because your idea

of loss is so so absolute that you couldn't even

stand losing one sheep. You'd walk away from ninety nine.

You wouldn't thank God for the ninety nine that were left.

You're so covetous that you would leave the ninety nine

and go after that one. And when you found it,

you'd lay it on your shoulder and you'd come home rejoicing.

I don't know what a sheep is worth, Amen, but

you'd be rejoicing over it.

Amen.

And he said, I will tell you that there's more

rejoicing in heaven over one center that repenteth over ninety

than over ninety nine. Josh, who have no need of repentance.

May I tell you everybody needs repentance to be saved.

He was talking to the Pharisees who felt like they

needed no repentance for their salvation, and he said, what

what woman who had ten coins? They understood exactly what

he was talking about. Now, Amen. You can almost see

the gleam in their eye when he starts. Now we're

talking about change, We're talking about rattling money.

Now, and he.

Says, you lose one of them, what would you do?

He mean, We'd tear that house upside down. We'd do

everything we could do to find that coin. That coin

means something, That coin's got value. That coin has value, Yes,

yes it does, hemen, But what about the value of

that ciner?

What about the value he mean of that one?

He man that's lost and undone without God and on

their way to Devil's hell?

What about them? Amen?

And then, now, while they're contemplating on their sheep, and

they're contemplating on their coins.

Now he brings.

Out the message, and he said a man had two sons.

Amen.

The younger of them said, father, give me the portion

of goods that falleth to me.

Amen.

Immediately the Pharisees now hate him, hate the boy, Amen,

because there is nothing in the Jewish law that would

excuse such behavior out of a son. Nothing in the

Jewish law. He is to be taken out and stoned.

A rebellious son, brother Samuel, is to be stone till

he is dead. Amen.

Amen. A rebellious son, Amen.

Now has come to his father and said, father, give

me the portion of goods that falls under me. Nothing

falls to the younger nothing, Amen.

Amen.

They inherited his all to the elder, but the father

divided and gave to him.

Not long after, he went into a far country. And

there I've never seen it like this before, brother Tyler.

But he wasted his substance, Boy God, lost all his money,

lost all his money down in the far country.

Is a man substance? Only what's in his wallet.

Is a substance of a man, declared by his bank account.

He's a substance of a man, declared by his possessions.

He's a substance of a man declared Amen by his

sheep or by his coins.

Amen.

He wasted his substance, everything about him, everything that he was,

everything that determined what he was, everything that had described him,

every emotion, every feeling, every bit of heritage, everything was gone.

It's wasted. Now he was now an empty shell that

had been devoid of everything. Now everything was gone. Nothing

was left of him.

Amen. And Jesus said, in this one.

Who's now nothing, look how he considers his own self.

He didn't just have lost some money. He said, I've

sinned against Heaven, and in the sight of my father,

I'm not even worthy to be called his son. I

lost that substance. I lost that I'm not worthy of that.

I'm gonna go home and beg that I can be

a slave out in the field, that I can be

a field hand, that can just have a piece of

bread that want of them to let me have, because.

I'm dying where I'm mad.

I'm dying in this hog lot, I'm dying in this

mess I'm in. I'm dying in this slime that I'm walling,

I'm dying in this place and a man, and I

have nothing left.

I'm no longer even have an identity.

His father saw him when he was yet a great

way off and had compassion on him. Now the Jews

are extremely mad and ran and fell upon him and

kissed him and said, bring forth a robe and put

on him.

Amen.

They didn't put the robe over the rotten, stinking, filthy

hog lot clothes. The robe was not a cover for

the hog lot. The robe was the replacement for the

hog lot. They did not put he men new shoes

over the old ones that had rotted away. They were

not he mean, are cover. They were replacement. And then

he says, they put a ring on his hand.

Amen. He was not adornment. It was not jewelry.

It was not something to sparkle and catch the eye

of somebody. It was a signet. He declared. You are

part of the family. You have rights of the family.

Now you have rights to seal things, you have rights

to declare your sonship.

Amen. Amen.

And I can hear the Jews saying that's not permissible,

that's not permissible, that cannot happen, that cannot happen. That

cannot happen. That can't happen. He's not supposed to be

brought back in the family. He's supposed to be in shame.

He's either to be killed or be in a shame

the rest of his life.

And kill the fatty cap. Now you're rejoicing about it. Yes,

we're rejoicing because the sinner's.

Come home, a child's come home, a son's come home,

a boy's come home.

And we're rejoicing.

Amen, Amen, Brother Dylan, Amen, I's thrilled to see you, hemen,

ist thrilled to see you.

Sister Molly threw thrilled to see you all. Amen. Amen.

But I saw the look amen, Brother e Jay and

his wife's face.

Amen.

And may I tell you the joy you felt when

you came up here to this halter, the joy you

felt the other night when you came to this alter.

May I may I step out of line and say

that I believe there was greater joy felt by one

standing right over there and one sitting right beside you.

And there was greater joy felt by one standing right

up here and one setting right back there. Because we

see a value that someday even the prodigal didn't not

see the value that he had, he had lost that

in his substance, there was no more value. And when

a man no longer values himself, when a man no

longer sees value in himself, when a young lady no

longer sees value in herself, well, a young man no

longer sees value in hisself, then here's a plaything for

the devil. Amen. Amen. The young lady that we talked

to that time in revival, Amen, And she said, I can't,

I can't, I can't ever feel right. I me and

my wife was praying with her, and she lifted her

sleeve up and she said, look at this, and her

arm was just a mass of scars, one right after another,

one right on top of another one.

She said, do you know what this is?

No?

I don't.

She said, I'm a cutter. I said, I don't understand

what that is. She said, started when I was a

little girl with a safety pin. She said, I'd cut

myself to her blood. She said, as it as it

grown old, I found better things kitchen knives, razor blades,

anything to cut myself. I said, why do you do that?

She said, because it is better to feel something than

to feel nothing. That's what happens when you lose your substance.

Your identity is gone. I'm no longer even worth. I

have no longer any value whatsoever. And now the Father

has put a new robe on me, he has put

shoes on my feet. He has put a signet upon

my hand.

Amen.

He has killed the fatic calf for me. And not

only that, but everybody in the household is singing and dancing. Amen. Amen. Well,

Jesus has forgot about us. Pharisee said no, And the

elder brother was out in the field, and he came

up and stood on the porch. All that prodigal on

the porch, all that prodigal. They just won't go in,

that prodigal on the porch. It's got too much pride

to go in, too much, too much pride to walk

in there. Amen, you had this, son, this was given

to you. But yet rather than take it, rather than,

rather than rather than being part of you, you've you've

you've chosen just stay out in the field and be morosed.

You you've chose to stay out there. All that I

have is yours.

Heymen. I came unto my own, but my own received me.

Not but such as received me to them, He gave

power to become the sons of God.

Amen. I want to go back now to.

That wasted substance, and I want to preach tonight for

just a little while on who's going to pay for

the waste?

Who's going to pay for the waste? Amen? Amen.

Ever, ever, Monday, there where we're staying, I hear them

about daylight, the garbage truck's coming, and I hear the

cans being rattled, and I hear them stumping it over

there into the truck.

And amen.

And people that push that garbage out beside the road,

and we set ours out there too. He man, Really,

we don't we Once it goes into that can, what's

a garbage truck picks up, we forget about it.

It's gone.

It's somebody else's problem now. But somebody's got paid for

the waste. Somebody pays for it. About about ten miles

from where we live, there's a mountain that fifty years

ago didn't exist.

Amen. Hey man, there's a mountain there. Amen. Heymen. It's

got pipes that come up out of it.

And at night those pipes have flames shooting up in

there where they burn the methane off of it. It's

a dump. Everything in that mountain is garbage. Somebody got

rid of it. Somebody said it's of no value anymore.

Somebody said it's lost its substance. Now it has no value,

It has no it has no nothing.

It can It can't do anything for me. It can't

do anything to help me. So I'm throwing it away. Amen.

And people pay for that waste to be taken care of.

Pay for that waste to be taken care of. Wet God,

got wasted, man, We pay for that to be taken

care of, got wasted shingles, Pay for that be taken

care of, God wasted food. We pay for that to

be taken away. But when a life is wasted, who

do we pay?

Amen?

Who pays for the waste of a life? Who pays

for the waste of that child? Who pays for the

waste of that son? Who pays for the waste of

that daughter? Hey man, you say, well, Mama cries, and

daddy cries, and heymen, church cries and people cry.

Amen, But who really pays for that waste? Amen?

That wasted life, that life that feels no value anymore,

that life that feels like I know there's a God,

and I know there's a heaven, and I know there's

a hell. But I feel like I'm so far away

from every bit of it. I feel like I'm so

far away from the grace of God. Who pays for

the waste, Who is gonna pay for it?

Hemen.

So in their life of rejecting God and walking away

from God and living in misery, of knowing there's a

God and know how to have it, that's.

Pay for the waste?

Well, what can we do with a life that's been wasted?

What can we do with it?

Amen?

Amen? Well, I got to thinking about it. Hey man,

right up there and kluston. You've got the big dole.

Is it sugar factory?

Amen?

Sugar's not white, heymen. Sugar is dark colored Amen, until

you cook all of what the early sugar plantation guys

said was the impurities off of it.

Amen.

So we'd have snow white sugar to spoon out there

and put on our corn flakes.

Amen. Amen.

And then somebody one day dipped their finger down into

that that they were throwing away and.

They took past it. WHOA, what's this? I don't know?

We was throwing away?

Well?

Let's call it molasses.

Amen.

Amen, hey man, let's start selling it. Amen. So when

you buy.

A big jar of Grandma's molasses, I guess you got

that down here, or bra rabbit molasses, I guess you

got that down here. Heymen, you are paying for what

we one time wasted. He mean, somebody saw value in it.

Somebody said, there's worse. This is worse. Do you know

when they started making gasoline, you don't want to buy

products of gasoline?

Is diesel fuel. It used to get poured out on

the ground.

He used to just get thrown away because nobody said

it's worth anything.

It's not worth anything. It's it's a castaway, it's a

it's a it's a it's waste. It's a waste product.

When you break down crude al into gasoline, the diesel

is waste.

Somebody said, one day, what if we develop a motor

that can run on it? All of a sudden the

waste had value again, Amen. In fact, it's about a

dollar and a half a gallon more than a gasoline

right now.

Amen.

And if you see those planes flying over, they're not

flying on gasoline. They are flying on jet fuel, which

is derived Amen from diesel fuel.

Amen. Amen. Somebody had found no use for the waste.

But at the Pharisees and in life today some people say, no,

see no use for the wasted human.

Push him off to the side. There's no use for

him anymore.

Amen. But Jesus said, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do.

I'm gonna pay for the waste. And on the Cross

of Calvary, Jesus Christ paid for the waste of every

bit of sin, the waste that every man had had

come into his life, the waste that their life had become. Amen,

the wasted substence it was no longer. There is now

being replaced because the grace of the Son of God

on the Cross of Calvary paid to death.

Amen.

So tonight, heymen, are you glad he men? I love

what brother house said aout of testimony.

Amen. Amen.

Amen, have you got a testimony tonight, Amen, that the

Lord has saved my soul. Let me tell you why

he saved you. Amen, Because you amen, were not he Maen.

You were wasted. Amen, you were you were the waste.

Amen.

Amen.

We had nothing without him.

But one day he came by, and my dead of sin, sister,

how he paid it, and he gave me a brand

new robe, and he gave me a brand new parashoes,

and he gave me a brand new identity.

Amen.

Can I tell you for him, my identity is not

just an old sinner save by grace. My identity is

a child of God, bought by the Blood, redeemed by

the Blood.

Amen. Hemen, hemen.

Glory to God, Glory to God. He didn't have to

leave the ninety and nine and come and give me. Amen.

Amen.

He he didn't have to sweep the house diligently to

come and give me. He's the alph and o make

of the beginning and the end.

Amen. He saw the value when you were yet away,

great way off. Amen. And really right now Amen.

As brother House said, Amen, you can stand in the

House of God, and we've brought testimony down and witness

down to it must be called upon and brother so

and so, would you stand and testify?

Would you stand and witness? Amen? But Jesus said, when

the Holy Ghost has come, you shall be witnesses.

First of all, unto me, witnesses not unto the world,

first unto me. And if we can't say thank you Jesus,

thank you Lord for saving me. Thank you for redeeming me.

Then there's no sense of walking up to somebody in Samaria,

Amen and telling them about the Lord saving you. If

you can't to you Amen, he oh can I tell you, friend? Amen?

Everybody in you are to be able to thank him

for redeeming them and paying for the waste.

Amen.

You could have been in a big mountain of worldly

garbage right now, but the Lord redeemed you brought you out.

You could have been forgot about your substance, long forgotten,

but the Lord came by, he restored under you. Oh

no wonder, the writer said, he restored my soul.

Amen. Do you know when something is restored, it means.

It was worthless, It had lost its value.

Amen.

Amen, Amen, I knew a man preached his funeral. He

would take an old jealopy Amen, the pile of rust amen,

just nothing, and he would start working on it.

Amen.

He'd read too the body, He do the pain over again,

He rebuild the motor. Amen.

Amen.

And he'd make a fifty six Chevy look like it

just came off of the dealer's lot.

Amen.

He'd make a fifty seven Cadillac look like it was

something that just come out of Detroit.

Amen. Amen.

I told him one time, I said I could see

no value in that. He said, I know, but I can.

Amen.

Well, Jesus, I can't see no value in that person

that's walked away from you.

But he can, But he can. Amen.

You may not have ever seen no value in someone

like me, and I may not have seen no value

and someone like me. But you're not here tonight because

you saw value in you. You're here tonight because Jesus

saw value in you. You're not saved because you saw

something worse saving. You're saved because Jesus saw something worse saving.

You're not sanctified because you figured it out. You're sanctified

because Jesus saw something in you worth sanctifying. Oh, I

wis should praise him tonight. I wishould praise him tonight.

Glory to God, Glory to God. Have you told him lately?

Have you told him lately that you thank him for

saving your soul?

Have you told him lately? Thank you for sanctifying me, Holy,

thank you for noticing me? Lord? Amen? Amen, Amen.

I read a little article in the magazine several years ago,

Brother Jeremiah. It was talking about the faithless people. They said,

there's people that walk through the crowds of this world

that nobody ever sees them. They've completely lost their identity,

They've completely lost any value that they could have had.

I was in Cincinnati, Ohio one time doing business and

I park a long way from where I was doing

the business, and I had to walk a long way

back to my car.

As I was walking down the sidewalk as a.

Country boy, I notice nobody looks at anybody, Nobody makes

eye contact, nobody does.

As I walked down through there, there was.

A little girl leaned up against the building, setting her

legs across the sidewalk, and I watched multitudes step over

her legs and never even looked down at her, as

if she wasn't even there. She had a little sign,

and all they said on that sign was simply hungry.

I know, I know, I got you. I got you,

she said hungry. She was obviously very very far along

with child sign said I'm hungry, And I watched that

crowd step over her as if she wasn't there. That's

what happens when the substance is gone. Amen, put put

a put a glass of water and let it start boiling,

and it starts vaporizing away, and pretty soon it has

no substance anymore. It's went out, it's gone. The glass

is empty. She had no substance, she had no identity.

Nobody saw her.

She wasn't there. She wasn't there anymore. The Lord dealt

with me.

I am much, But I said, whatever I've got, I said,

Young ladies, say I restaurant right over there, they sell food.

I said, here, go get you whatever this will get you. Amen. Amen,

you said, well she probablyouldn't tooking butter drugs. That's what

you say.

When they lose substance, when they're no longer have any substance,

we look.

For a reason to avoid them. We look for a

reason not to see them.

Who cares about Dominique? Theyir way down there? Who cares

about them? Who cares about Kenya? Who cares about a mockily?

A mockily? It's not going into a third world country? Amen?

Why why would we go down there? Why why would

we go down there? Waste our time? Why would we

waste our time preaching to a to a lost person?

Why why would we?

Amen?

Will want One writer of years and years ago said

why bother the poor sinner. He's on his way to hell.

Don't aggravate him on the way every man? Was it

John Down who said every man's life is valuable to me?

And he went on to ask, say, not for whom

the bell tolds it told.

Us for thee? Amen? Amen? Amen?

May I tell you tonight I feel the presence of

God Almighty here. What a wonderful way to close revival,

What a wonderful way to close revival? If somebody had

let Jesus simply pay for the waste. Don't don't, don't

try to tell him what you've salvaged. Let him show

you what you've wasted.

Amen. I got saved at. I got saved at.

Twenty nine years old, twenty nine years of sin, twenty

nine years of rebellion, twenty nine years of being as

far out as far out could be?

Amen? Amen? Amen? What could I bring to him? What

do you bring when you've got.

Twenty nine years of baggage, twenty nine years of scars,

twenty nine years of her twenty nine years of bitterness,

twenty nine years of heartache?

What do you bring to him?

I brought a wasted substance, and he paid for the waste.

They drug her to Jesus, they drug her in there. Oh,

how oh, how holy they were. They slung her down

in front of him, rocks in their hands. And we

mentioned it the other night. Amen, the law says, killer,

What do you say? What do you say? What do

you say, Jesus? What do you say?

She has no value?

Now, she has no value, she has no purpose, she

has no there's no reason to have any pity upon her.

There's no reason to have any mercy upon her. I'm

being careful right now, I really am. But if you

can rejoice over a little Palestinian children being blown to bits,

you can rejoice over a little amen Iranian children being

blown to bits, or little tel Aviv children being blown

to bits. Godly people do not rejoice in iniquity. We

rejoice in the truth. And he did not come to

destroy life. He come to save it. WHOA WHOA going

to God his disciples. He min still had some of

that national, that national attitude about him when that said,

when he come back to Jesus and said, we told

him you were coming through town, and they wouldn't receive you.

Let's call fire down from heaven and burn them up.

That's what they deserve. What you deserve? What did you deserve?

What did you deserve? Well, I've never tasted alcohol, What

did you deserve? I've never smoked a cigarette? What did

you deserve? Ever one of us deserve to be in hell.

Neither one of us deserve to go to heaven. Let's

go fire down from heaven and burn.

Them all up. How about it?

Jesus said, you know not what spirit you are of.

You don't know what spirit's working on you right now? Amen,

I wish it prais him, saints. I wish you could

worship him with me tonight.

Amen.

I'm telling you, hemen, we may not see no value

in our own lives.

We may not see no value? Amen? Amen?

No notice what the notice? What the older son said?

How did the older son come up with this knowledge

that he's got? He said, he not only wasted his money,

but he.

Spread it on harlets. How do you know would you

get that info at well? He come out of there,

so evidently he did.

Yeah, maybe maybe maybe he did.

But it wasn't his money that he had lost. That's

not really your money he lost. He was no longer

a son, He no longer had identity.

He no longer had a character, he lost his substance,

he lost who he was.

And not only lost that, he wasted it. He wasted it.

I'm not a selfish person except for one thing I'm

very selfish about. I'm very selfish about time because I

know I have so little of it left, and so

do you. You have very little time left. I'm not

talking about this service, I'm talking about time in general.

And we wasted, we wasted, we throw it away, we

scattered to the wind, and then one day it's all gone.

One day there is no more time. An angel is

going to put one foot on the land and another

on the sea, and declare by him that liveth forever,

the time shall be no more, no more time, no

more time, no more identity. There was a court case

I used to I used to love case law I did.

I loved it, brother Jesse. The case was the state

had brought charges against a mother and father, mom and dad,

Mommy and daddy. A child had been born in their home.

From the time of that child's birth, they had locked

it in a closet. They never spoke to it, they

never communicated with him. They would give him food. The

child never knew what it was to wear clothing. The

child never knew what it was to step outside of

that closet. The child never knew what it was to

be clean. The child never knew what it was to

be loved. The child never knew what it was to

be even admonister anything. When a neighbor reported that they

had heard something in that house that shouldn't be in there,

the police did a wellness check, a welfare check, and

came in brother brother Caleb, and they found that little

child in there was probably I believe it was about

ten years old by then. When they opened the door,
