To you tonight. Amen, turn with me to the Book
-
of Jeremiah. May I direct your attention to the seventeenth
-
chapter and the ninth verse. Please Jeremiah Chapter number seventeen
-
and verse number nine. Brother Nathaniel, Proverbs Chapter number three
-
and verses number five and six, and Brother Jesse, Second
-
King's Chapter number five, verses number nine through twelve. Second
-
Kings Chapter number five, Verses number nine through twelve. I
-
want to say I appreciate the preaching that we heard
-
as we celebrated our nineteenth anniversary as Bethel Holiness Church.
-
We had some wonderful Homecoming Day celebrations to wonderful services
-
for preachers that preached with the anointing, heard the Holy
-
go speaking to my heart to preach a message chiitled
-
Christ our Compass, Christ colon our Compass. Brother Nathaniel, Proverbs
-
Chapter number three, Versus number one, five and six, My brother.
-
Trusting the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not
-
under thine own understanding in all thy ways, acknowledge Him
-
and He shall direct thy pass.
-
And Amen, how many of you want to put your
-
trust holy in the Lord. You'll be safe in doing so.
-
Brother Jesse's Second Kings Chapter number five, verses number nine
-
through twelve. Listen to this account and this narrative of
-
a man that had a problem putting his trust in
-
the Lord.
-
So Naming came with his horses and with his chariot,
-
and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
-
And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, go and
-
wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come
-
again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. But Naming
-
was wroth and went away, and said, behold, I thought
-
he was surely come out to me and stand and
-
call on the name of the Lord his God, and
-
strike his hand over the place and recover the leopard.
-
Are not Abana and parfar rivers of Damascus better than
-
all the waders of Israel? May I not wash in
-
them and be clean? So he turned and went away
-
in a rage.
-
So Nayman said, I thought, because his heart and his
-
mind told him there was a better way to go
-
about it, I thought, Jeremiah, chapter number seventeen, verse number nine,
-
thank you for standing for the reading of our golden texts.
-
The Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things,
-
and desperately wicked who can know it? Could we pray,
-
Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank
-
you for the opportunity to be in your house tonight.
-
I thank you for the men of God that's in
-
this place, the women of God, the children whom are
-
children of God as well. We pray that you would
-
bless each one, set a guard at their ears and
-
help them to hear what the spirit of God he says.
-
And to the church tonight, Lord, we pray that you
-
would set a guard at my mouth and help me
-
to say the things you would have me to say,
-
nothing more or less. Oh God, we pray these sayings
-
would go below the shoulders. May they descend into the
-
heart of mine soul bodies, saturate our beings. We pray
-
not with my words, but with your words. Help us
-
not to hear only, but to heed. And may we
-
depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus' name
-
in the church said amen, as you're being seated. Looking again.
-
In our golden texts, the Bible says, the heart is
-
deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it? I,
-
the Lord, search the heart. I try the reins even
-
to give every man according to his ways and according
-
to the fruit of his doings. Our text is found
-
in an Old Testament book of the Holy Bible, the
-
Book of Jeremiah. How many people among us tonight are
-
thankful for your copy of the King James translation of
-
the Word of God. I'm very thankful from my personal
-
copy of this Holy Bible. Amen. I am very blessed
-
to hold in my hand the Blessed Bible on a
-
daily basis. I open it and I read of these wonderful,
-
wonderful accounts of Biblical characters who found it to be
-
their cheapest desire to please the Lord, and they learn
-
that the ways of the Lord are easier kept than
-
what we would suppose them to be. But we are
-
emotional beings, and because we are emotional beings, sometimes our
-
heart deceives us, and our heart is desperately wicked. In fact,
-
our golden texts said, who can know it? I wonder
-
how many of you tonight really know just how wicked
-
that heart is, that heart that you put your trust in,
-
that heart that speaks to you sometimes even louder than
-
you allow the Word of God to speak to you.
-
I know this blessed Word of God for years has
-
had many attacks, and there's been so many haters that
-
have attacked the very words of Almighty God. Even though
-
the Bible itself is the gateway to glory. The apostle
-
Peter believe the Bible plays a critical and crucial role
-
in the conversion of all who come to Jesus. While
-
looking through his epistle today, I discovered this golden verse
-
one Peter, chapter number one and verse number twenty three.
-
He wrote these words, being born again, not of corruptible seed,
-
but of incorruptible by the Word of God, which liveth
-
and abideth forever. This book is the Word of God,
-
and it changed my life the better. That is my
-
personal testimony. And there's several people in this building tonight
-
whom have testified in recent years that this book changed
-
their life for the better. This Holy book has helped
-
each one of us become a better version of ourself,
-
and it is helping us to become more christ Like
-
the weeping prophet, Jeremiah knew the power of the words
-
of the Lord. In fact, he declared that the word
-
of the Lord was in his heart as a burning
-
fire shut up in his bones. And because of this
-
he was unable to hold back, and he just had
-
to preach. His words were these words, and I could
-
not stay, I could not refrain from speaking what thus
-
saith God. So there is no doubt in my mind
-
whatsoever that the weeping prophet Jeremiah had a great heart
-
for the word of God, and he also had a
-
great heart as a human being, because he answered the
-
call to ministry that came upon him. He received the
-
commission of the Lord gladly, and he was willing to
-
do that work that no one else would be willing
-
to do. And he made the all inclusive sacrifice to
-
be despised of contemporaries, peers, rulers, pagans, god loving people,
-
because he would preach the truth and deliver unto them
-
the mind of the Lord, and teach them the precepts
-
and the whole counsel of God. This man, though, even
-
though he had such a big heart, that before he
-
would preach to people, he would be found being emotional,
-
and his emotions would move him to great peers periods
-
of weeping, and he would preach to people through tears,
-
dimmed eyes, and through swollen eye sockets and tell them
-
what thus saith the word of God. Brother Nathaniel, What
-
a heart this man had. He was an emotional being,
-
and I have no doubt whatsoever that there were times
-
that he thought about holding back because of his statement
-
that we just read together. I had decided to preach
-
no more. I had decided not to mention his name
-
or the author of the one that put these words
-
us in this book him my heart. But because it's
-
the word of God, I must speak his word, even
-
though I don't altogether feel like speaking it to him.
-
So we know this mighty prophet felt just like you do,
-
at times of saying nothing else to somebody that would
-
not pay attention to what was being said. He felt
-
like at times his words and were falling upon deaf ears.
-
And there's no time, no doubt that there were times
-
that he decided to preach them. Even though he did
-
not feel it was right in his own eyes to
-
preach him, he went ahead and done what God had
-
told him to do. You see, it was the Lord's
-
word that superseded any other word uttered by mortals or
-
spiritual beings. And for every child of God looking for
-
remedies and answers in their lifetime, they have learned to
-
go back on to the same Bible, and they used
-
when they were first to save them. And this man,
-
even though his emotions and caused his heart and his
-
mind the times to tell him not to preach things
-
that God had told him, the preaching because God had
-
told him to do it, and because God's words were
-
burning in his heart, he would go against to his
-
own feelings, and he would go against to his own emotions.
-
And I know my boy Mintioning recently while preaching them
-
that when I was raising my children, I taught him
-
a hard life of listen. And one time I noticed
-
that when this particular person visited our children, and during
-
one of my children's birthday celebration, she brought all of
-
my children a gift, and she told each one of them,
-
I did not want you to feel left out. And
-
I remember thinking right then and there, on the surface,
-
this scenes like the right thing to do. This woman
-
is being driven emotionally, and she's trying to consider the
-
feelings of all of these other little how children. But
-
I knew that was not the best thing for my
-
little children. And so just as soon as that woman
-
who supposedly meant well, so she felt like she did anywhere.
-
As soon as she left, I gethered them gifts that
-
my other five children had received, and I put them
-
in a closet and I told them, this is not
-
your special day, this is your sibling special day. Because
-
I knew how her life of girls. I know today
-
that life is untear, and I've taught to how we're
-
chialing her. And sometimes when you expect to get a
-
pay raising, a sibling gets a pay raise and a
-
promotion to go with it. I've told people before, when
-
you felt like your loved when was gonna be healed,
-
they died while somebody else's loved when received the healing.
-
And just a day or two actor the funeral of
-
the one that died, the one that was healed, came
-
into church and they cried, and they threw their hands
-
up and praised the Lord, and seemingly without her being
-
sensitive to the other family in the building, they lifted
-
up the name of the Lord God and declared that
-
there were healing in his wings. And I don't know
-
if you're gonna get this here tonight or not, but
-
I'm telling you you have to rely totally on the
-
word of God, and never rely on your feelings, and
-
you cannot trust your heart. When Jeremiah he did not
-
feel like preaching, he had to acknowledge the word of God.
-
And because he mused her on the word of God,
-
her Bible said concerning David, the fire burn. And in
-
the case of David and Jeremiah, it unctioned them Burthen
-
to go ahead and say what God would have them
-
to say. Has been times in my ministry that I
-
have not felt like mountain this proof of and preaching
-
what God had told me to preach her, because I
-
too have an emotional men. I'm a husband with feelings
-
for my wife. I am my daddy the strong feelings
-
for my children, and I'm your grandfather with dear feelings
-
towards my grandchildren. But no matter what I think or
-
how I feel, I know that they're gonna be judging
-
by what they say. It the word of God. I
-
want you to know right here to not I don't
-
care if your heart it's misleading you away from the
-
words of truth. That's what the Holy Ghost said a
-
little while ago, that you're not listening to the words
-
of the Master, that you're not heeding the words of
-
Jesus Christ, that you're not listening to the messages delivered
-
by them, your pastor why, oh why I would a
-
mere murder this regard the words of God. I'll tell
-
you why, because a lot of times we feel like her,
-
we know better, We feel like we know what's best
-
for lesson and will follow our heart. There's been times
-
that as a father, I have brought my children to
-
church and taking a heart copy of this King James
-
Translation Bible and just sit down even before the service started,
-
as I started reading the words of this blessed book,
-
and I'd feel the fire burning him my soul. I'd
-
experience reneweds ill and brother Nathaniel. Then I couldn't help
-
but testify and sometimes endelving in the world of God.
-
I would discover a truth that would help me escape
-
a lie of my emotions and heart. Again in Jeering,
-
my chapter number seventeen, in verse number nine, our going
-
in text says the heart it's deceitful above all things
-
and desperately wicked. Who can know it? How many people
-
present to not have heard someone use this expression follow
-
your heart? I have heard that expression so much lately.
-
That might be the reason for why God put this
-
message on my heart. Listen, there is nobody in this
-
world of seven billion people that has a heart so
-
after God that they should follow their heart. It was
-
set up Eavia that he had a heart after God.
-
At one point he said, my heart pina or pen
-
attacked to thee. Her long attached to thee God, also
-
heart death a water brook. What was he looking for?
-
And he was not looking for the person Jesus Christ.
-
He was listening for the word. The Bible said in
-
a New Testament that Jesus is the word. He was
-
listening for the voice of God. He was searching for him,
-
the word of God. Can I tell you we are
-
blessing and this generation that we do not have to
-
lay on our bed at night and swim in our
-
tears asking God to speak to us. We do not
-
have to be especially chosen and dedicated five year old
-
growing up in the tipple with the name God. Here
-
are so known as Samuel and somebody that could hear
-
the word of God. I'm telling you you got sixty
-
six love letters right here in your hand. Right now.
-
You can ask God to speak to you all you
-
want to, And in this day and hour He is
-
going to speak to you through his son. He's going
-
to speak to you through his word. He's gonna speak
-
to you through his messenger, and you cannot follow over
-
your heart. The prophet deer Mine would strongly disagree with
-
that expression, haunt follow your heart, And so would the
-
wise man who put in the parchment and rode in
-
Proverbs chapter number three, Versus number five and six. And
-
he's the trust to the Lord with all thine heart,
-
and lean not to thine owner, understanding, and in all
-
thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy past.
-
And I'll tell you who you are more complicials, And
-
I'll tell you who your complicles. It is Christ. I
-
will never follow you. I will follow Christ. Jesus never
-
told anybody to follow over. Oh, come on now a man.
-
If that man is not following Christ, I'm hair lipping
-
somebody right now. I feel it. Even Apostle Paul, that
-
great Apostolic preacher of the early Church, the one that
-
persecuted members within Christen even until death, the one that
-
ended up becoming the promoter that nobody would have ever suspected,
-
the one that becomes such a prince among preachers. Even
-
Apostle Paul said, you follow me, as long as I
-
follow Christ. There's a lot of men today that would
-
just say follow me, and they would not put that
-
ladder part behind that follow me as I followed Christ.
-
Come on now, this is a pastoral message here tonight,
-
and I can tell that some of you being miscutted, misled,
-
and misdirected, not by the charismatic preacher hof to road.
-
Come on now, it ain't that true, receiving them her
-
phony maloney message from somebody on the street corner. It's
-
your own heart. You're caring and the what you wanna hear.
-
I'm telling you Jesus said follow thou me. He never
-
said follow thou That doldright. He said follow thou me.
-
I'm preaching the message the Holy Ghost titled Holy Ghost,
-
titled Holy Ghost, titled Christ our compass. Listen, no matter
-
how good our heart is, we don't need to follow it.
-
No matter how good sister Howell's heart is towards her husband,
-
her children, and her grandchildren, she does not need to
-
follow it. No matter how sweet sister Ruton is and
-
how good her heart is. It might even be gold
-
and concerning brother Tyler, But Sister Rutting and Brother Tyler
-
do not need to follow Sister Ruton's heart. The Lord
-
Jesus did not tell you to trust your heart. He
-
didn't tell you to trust your dreams. He didn't tell
-
you to trust your feelings. He didn't tell you to
-
trust your visions. He did tell you to trust your emotions.
-
He did tell you to trust your appetites. He didn't
-
tell you to trust your thoughts. Know he gave you
-
his word, and his word is to serve as your compass.
-
And David said, thy word have I hid in my heart?
-
And I might not sin against thee, meaning that the
-
word was not praisent. He was sin against God, meaning
-
that the word was not prayer. Is that he'd lose
-
his way. I'm telling you, I'm preaching to somebody right now.
-
You feel like your world she proceeds the word of God.
-
You feel like what you feel his riding right in
-
your own eyes. But I'm telling you it is wrong.
-
It is wrong. Ten thousand times you are wrong. You
-
are wrong. Let God be true, and let every man
-
be a liar. The heart is deceitl above all things,
-
desperately wicked, and who can know it? Jeremise the one
-
preaching that message. One that would weep and cry as
-
he preached to his fellow men, one that would preach
-
the under an unadulterated word of God, one that believed
-
truth mattered, and one that would tell the truth rather
-
than a lie. Listen, I'm telling somebody, your heart is
-
deceiving you. Your heart is deceiving you. I have heard
-
of serial killers whom have told people Jesus spoke to
-
me and told me to eliminate a life. I have
-
heard of people that committed mass murder who have said
-
they heard a voice and that voice declared its identity
-
as Jesus, and they did some atrocity against mankind. And
-
by the Aaron, they sit in there and they get investigated,
-
and they get interviewed, and that same boice that told
-
them it was okay to take a life, that same
-
boy that said I am Jesus, that same one that
-
gave him de tells her her instructions. He was an impostor.
-
I said he was an impostor, because anybody that knows
-
the words of God knows one of the first commandments
-
giving the mankind is this, thou shalt not kill her.
-
And I'm telling you a lot of the phony Maloney.
-
Gospel that is being preached today tells people to disregard
-
what is written in that blessed book, and I want
-
you to know her. I will hold to her what
-
proceeds out of the mouth of the Father, not after
-
of a prophet that is false. It's a pastoral message.
-
I've heard people before say, listen to what the spirit
-
is telling you. That woman was so convinced that all
-
of the Howl kids needed to celebrate their birthdays first
-
and foremost. That was a lie. It wasn't everybody else's
-
special day. And if I had to raise my sons
-
and daughter with that mindset and mentality, because somebody's heart
-
was telling them, this is what we need to do.
-
Somebody's heart was telling them walking to Brother Jeremy Howell's house,
-
who was in a long term period of praying, fasting,
-
and bring extra gifts, not for just the birthday boy,
-
not just for Brother Jeremiah, but for everybody. Then interrupt
-
Brother Jeremiah's birthday celebration and explain everybody why you're doing
-
what you're doing. And then tell them kids a lie,
-
say I know how you're feeling. I know how you're feeling.
-
She didn't know your heart. She looked at Jesse and said,
-
you're feeling left out, and Brother Jesse kind of shook
-
his head. No. This. She looked at brother Nathaniel, her said,
-
you're feeling left out, and Brother Datania said no. She
-
looked at sister Hannah and brother Samuel and brother Philip,
-
her said you're feeling left out, and he said, no,
-
we don't understand what you're talking about. She said, oh,
-
yes you do, Oh yes, you do. You know what
-
I'm talking about. Her, you're feeling nature. Hey, listen, just
-
because you're feeling something in your heart does not mean
-
everybody else is feeling the same thing. Just because you've
-
got heart problems solve, doesn't mean David it's got a
-
heart problem. Just because you've got hardest shoes and your
-
emotions are running ride her crazy. Contrary to the Word
-
of God, this not mean everybody else in the church
-
he's having heart is shoes. Concerning the Word of God,
-
I love the Lord's word. I love the Lord. I
-
love him deep down in my heart. And that woman
-
felt like she knew better than the parents. She felt
-
like she knew better than them kids, And I knew
-
her heart's deceiving her. And you know what, My children
-
grew up understanding that it rains on the just and unjust,
-
and that they were all born on different days, and
-
that they all have times of celebration and others they
-
have times of gain, while others experienced times of loss.
-
I have seen some get paid raises and promotions, while
-
some companies went out of business. And you know what's
-
never for me to question the minds or the ways
-
of God. This will help some of you right here
-
listen to the promises of God. Are yeah and amen?
-
He told you when you signed that covenant on the
-
dotted line and you become his child, he said, I'll
-
make you joint heirs over all of heaven with your
-
big brother Jesus Christ, and I will supply all of
-
their needs according to his riches and glory. I'll tell
-
you what your heart will tell you. Your heart will
-
tell you you need a promotion when your brother gets one.
-
Your heart will tell you you need a pay raise
-
when your brother gets one. Your heart will tell you
-
you deserve a Holy girls when your sister gets the
-
Holy girls. Right in the world, this wild where your heart.
-
It's a heart problem. You can't trust your feelings. You
-
can't trust your emotions. Where my brother's getting a naughty
-
while he preaches. You know what Jesus told Peter. He said,
-
if John tears until you lie, come again? What he
-
is that to you? Because Peter was worried about Roll,
-
what's happening with John? Will I'll tell you this on
-
the fliff side of that. On the day of Pentecost,
-
while John stood in the shadows of Peter, John could
-
have said, why, Ah, why here's ether preacher tonight? Wow?
-
Why his God using him to night? Trust in the
-
Lord with all thy heart and lean not into thine
-
own understanding Peter in all thy ways, acknowledge him, and
-
he shall direct thy path. I'm preaching a message Christ,
-
our compass. You can trust Christ. A person can't trust
-
their emotions. We as finite beings can't know foolly the
-
mind of God without having his word in our heart.
-
I'm gonna say it again, We as finite beings, cannot
-
fully know the mind of God without having his words
-
hidden in our heart. Child of God, hear me just
-
a little. While the prodigal son fall his heart into
-
a far country, his heart led him a great distance
-
from the safety of the Father's house. Will God use
-
this brother and he's not using me? What is that
-
to you? Well? I have to preach a pastoral message
-
tonight and not an evangelistic message. What is that to me? Hey?
-
I just have to do what God told me to do.
-
There's been times in camp meetings that there were those
-
that you could just tell they had determined in their
-
heart they were gonna preach everybody happy. You've heard them
-
say it before, preach everybody happy. But everybody could tell
-
when they got to that meeting that there were some
-
things that needed to be said in order to streak
-
them the church. There had to be something said that
-
would remind the people what does said the word of God?
-
That people were not willing to say it because their
-
hearts controlling their emotions, and their emotions was telling them,
-
you better back down, you better back away, and you
-
better leave that alone. Proca son God in his mind,
-
I deserve something better than this. I deserve something greater
-
than this. I'm not the older brother, so you give
-
me that that is mine. And right then and there,
-
the prodigal son got everything that was his. A lot
-
of people overlook this. There was nothing to come back
-
to and I pointed this out a couple of weeks ago.
-
When he came home, he was not looking for status.
-
You know why, because he knew when he left, I'm
-
taking everything that is mine, and he squandered his inheritance
-
and there was nothing to come back to. But because
-
he came back not desiring to be a son, I'm
-
telling the father I'm looking for a servants quarters. The
-
father restored him that that was not even his I'm
-
telling you, your heart will take you into a far country.
-
The same way, the daughter of Jacob Dinah allowed her
-
heart to deceive her, and it led her into following
-
into her the hands of the enemy. She found herself
-
in the strange arms of a strange man from a
-
strange land. Donna God defiled. The daughter of Jacob got distort,
-
so to speaker, because her of her emotions and because
-
her her heart let her into the wrong place. I'm
-
telling you you better be careful where that heart read you.
-
The strong man Sampson was led into the land of
-
the Philistines because of that deceitful heart. What about Judas
-
he said yes to men that sought to kill Jesus.
-
He paid no regard to the words of the Lord.
-
As the Lord spoke to the other eleven followers, those
-
that were following him, those that declared, we have no
-
one else to follow, no one else to go to.
-
You have the words of eternal life. But Judas's heart
-
was in another kingdom, Jesus heart. Judas's heart was in
-
another realm. Judas's heart had another plan. Judas had his way.
-
Judas had the way. He thought about it, and his
-
heart led him to the high Priest and to the
-
other priest. If he would, this is the way. The
-
Holy Ghost gave it to me to day, Judas's heart
-
and led him to another preacher. Judas's heart led him
-
away from the Prince of preachers Jesus Christen, and led
-
him into politics, and led him to another group of preachers.
-
Who do not feel like plagiarism is? Who do you
-
not feel like politics? He's a sin. Judas went to
-
another group of preachers. He looked him in the right
-
of the eyes, and even though he declared to be
-
doing the right thing, his heart was betraying Jesus. And
-
you can approach the platform, You can extend your hand,
-
you can shake the preacher's hand, you can look him
-
in the right of the eyes. And you can say
-
one thing and your heart means something. Answer. You can
-
say you're going one wave while your heart he's trying
-
you another ra What I'm telling you, Judas, look Jesus
-
in the writer or the eyes, and he had an
-
instrument of death in his hand. He looked Jesus in
-
the eyes, put those two lips on the cheek of Jesus,
-
kissed him and even uttered the word friend, while his
-
heart was screaming, look of ravenous beast wood. Enemy, enemy
-
of my thoughts, enemy and my plans. I thought you'd
-
set up a throne of David. I thought you destroy
-
the Roman Empire. I thought we'd have an earthly kingdom.
-
I thought I'd be your secretary of treasure. But he's
-
saying friend, but his heart screaming enemy. Oh come on now,
-
just smell the spirit of Absolom in this place among adies.
-
Oh God, you know you can look at Daddy David
-
and say you've got a right heart to watch David.
-
Let me doing the wrong thing on the fringes. You
-
can stand in the churchyard, you can stand by the
-
glass doors. You can whisper in the ears of people
-
and your heart to indicate to them it's in another sphere,
-
it's in another world, said another take. That's why the
-
man said to the man, that's recorded in the Word
-
of God. Is your heart right when my heart as
-
my heart is with thy heart? Is it? When the
-
word of God corrects you, do you try to conjure
-
up and concoct a plan to justify your sin? Do
-
you go around and say little things because you were
-
so condemned and you feel so bad or so ashamed
-
or so embarrassed, and you go around trying to justify
-
why you feel like you're okay, or why you're able
-
to do this, or why you can get bye with it,
-
or why you're the exception to the rule, rather than
-
just saying God's words. Says No, That's what I don't
-
understand about a lot of phony belonging doctrine nowadays, where
-
people seem to ignore the subject of purity and the
-
other subject of modesty. I know for sure that a
-
bathing suit and a bikini one or two, peace or whatever.
-
Bathing suit is not the attire of a modest woman
-
or man of God. I mean, they just seem to
-
overlook all these other scriptures about purity and modesty. They
-
seem to overlook for Jesus Christ in the glory world
-
where they're neither giving him marriage or well, you know
-
what I'm saying here, Hey, Jesus is clothed down to
-
the foot. I'm trying to be careful right now because
-
of my emotions what I say. But I tell you this,
-
why is Jesus clothed down to the foot in heaven?
-
And then people try to get us to believe that
-
he's okay with him walking around her? Seventy five percent
-
of clothe Jesus is not okay with it. The word
-
of God does not permitted, The word of God does
-
not validated. The word of God does not excuse us,
-
no matter what the heart of their mother says, no
-
matter what the heart of that preacher says. And it
-
is not okay, my God. But they'll tell you, I
-
feel like I'm being modest when I state sister how
-
when she was in the worldly living Church, she felt
-
immodest wearing the white piece. When Athleene Harris, who had
-
been a woman of this world God saved, the Word
-
of God and the Spirit of God were in agreement
-
that she needed to be a modest woman that when
-
that lion preacher told her to put on the bathy's suit,
-
that they had been too hard, that they had preached
-
it too tight, that they shouldn't have paid any attention
-
what this appeared of God in the Word of God
-
had said that Tolene, she fell for it for a
-
little while, and she put on the bathing suit, and
-
she walked across the beach with her tower. She threw
-
the towel down and got out there, leading up to
-
her neck, and then was so embarrassed that she had
-
to wade back out and run to get her towel.
-
While that perverted lying prophet sit there has snickered and
-
locked while her shame and nothing disappeared. That precious saying
-
of God, who had been a woman in this world,
-
told me there was a day and the hour that
-
would not have bothered her. But after she got saved,
-
after she met Jesus, after a true conversion, after reading
-
the Bible, it bothered her. And it ought to bother
-
every child of God. Im modesty ought to bother every
-
child of God. Amen, I ain't preached on dress code
-
in a long time, but I'm telling you the word
-
of God puts a high value on a virtuous person
-
man or a woman. The values beyond that that can
-
be found in the mineral deposits of this world. It's
-
priceless to be pure. Your purity is precious. It's priceless all.
-
Thank God for modesty. Where is people's moral compass compass today?
-
I know in my lifetime, in the last fifty years,
-
I've watched people's moral compass get broke. I have watched
-
them throw their moral compasses away. And you know what,
-
when they threw their moral compasses away, they lost their way.
-
That's what a compass is used for. It is to
-
help you stay on course. It's to help you know
-
one direction from another. It's to help you know when
-
you got off course. It's to help you know you
-
need to turn ninety degrees or five degrees. Oh, come
-
on now, three hundred and fifty nine point five degrees.
-
It'll help you. You need accompassing. This word of God
-
will tell us about the ministerial ethics. It will tell
-
us about ethics concerning lay it in. It will tell
-
us about attitudes. It would tell us about mannerisms. It
-
speaks to us about behaviors. It speaks to us about
-
that to become a Christian. It speaks to us. It
-
don't matter what your emotions tell you. It doesn't matter
-
the culture that you were raised in or the society
-
that has shaped you. The Word of God is designed
-
to reshape you. It is designed to break you, and
-
it is to mold you, just as Jeremiah set about
-
Israel needing to go back to the Potter's will. Jeremi,
-
I knew. You may claim to be the people of God.
-
You may claim to be this and Nata. You may
-
claim to be the son of a pastor or a
-
preacher or an evangelist. You may claim to know what
-
you know and to feel what you feel. But jeremies
-
looking know at vessels that are marred. What jeremies looking
-
at vessels and need to be put back on the
-
Potter's wheel, Those people that are messed up and need
-
to find themselves back in the Master's handle. And I'm
-
telling you what, You're heart, we will mess you up,
-
I said, your heart, we will mess you up. We
-
don't mess your life, Upper, we don't mess your family. Upper.
-
Who cannot trust your heart? Christ is our compass. I've
-
been praying about all these great preachers. I think somebody
-
told me there was twelve of them lined up around
-
here this past Sunday representing Bethel Hole in his church
-
and ministry team. And that wasn't all of them. And
-
I was thanking God for him. Just yesterday and I
-
was in the dunkin doughnut line waiting on a refresher,
-
and I heard the Spirit of God say, tell them
-
that I love them, tell them I'll use them, but
-
tell them they better always follow me. And then I
-
thought the Lord was done speaking, and he said, tell
-
them they better always follow my word and not their heart.
-
It is true the direction of your heart will determine
-
your steps. If your heart is in the right place,
-
you will reach the right place. But if your heart
-
is in the wrong place, you will reach the wrong destination.
-
Jesus Christ himself declared, for where your treasure is, there
-
will your heart be. Also. If your mind and heart
-
or stayed on the Lord, you can't help but pursue righteousness, obedience,
-
and peace. That's what I'm saying. If you love the
-
Word of God and you keep his commandments, you can't
-
help but pursue righteousness, obedience, and peace. But ask Judas
-
if your heart is in the wrong place. You will
-
pursue pleasure, pride, and self will as the prodigal Dinah
-
and Judas did. Who cares about our emotions anyway? When
-
it comes to truth, no matter how we feel, the
-
truth will liberate. The truth will set free those that
-
are bound. And let God's word be true. And let
-
every man be a liar when they start compromising and
-
they tell you why, I know what the Spirit told me.
-
And I'm telling you Jesus is walking up and down
-
in our alls. I'm telling you there's healings taking place.
-
I'm telling you God is just showing himself mighty in
-
our mists. You better hold on to the word of God,
-
because the Spirit of God and the Word of God
-
are always in agreement. Jesus never said follow your emotions,
-
brother Beufford, He said, following me. My emotions told me
-
tonight to preach something else. But the Word of God
-
told me. I better listen to God, do what God
-
told me to do, or I'm gonna find myself a transgressor.
-
And the way the transgressor is hard to be like
-
plowing a row with fallow ground. Tonight, if I had
-
to win against what God would have me to preach.
-
I told sister how I said, God is changing it
-
all together here to last minute, I said, I'm struggling.
-
I need you to pray for me. I believe she did.
-
I trust that she did. But whether she did or not,
-
I know. My helper told me to preach this message
-
to some of you here tonight, because you'll get to
-
the place where you will confront the messenger. You'll confront
-
somebody like Brother Jessey that obeyed God. Tonight, you'll confront
-
a teacher and a Sunday school teacher, and you'll say, well,
-
I know what my heart's telling me. You better go
-
back to what the word of God is telling you.
-
Why are we not teaching members of the Brewster bands,
-
which means the members of our little primary Sunday school
-
classes anymore? The words of the song to be I
-
b a Lee. Yes, that's the book for me, because
-
a lot of people now are standing on their emotions
-
and theirs and their heart and not on the word
-
of God. Should I keep preaching us? Should we go
-
to the chicken house? It's a pastoral message Christ and
-
his word will never change. His word is unchanging. His
-
word is steadfast, it's unmovable. And then Brother Nathaniel read
-
our cotext tonight and he talked about naming the Syrian
-
general a war lord that came to the land of
-
the Prophet, because the little maid had said, Oh that
-
my master would go into the land of the Prophet,
-
into the land of his God, into the land of
-
my God, into the land of my people. Were Jehovah
-
is our God, Oh that he would go. And if
-
he would go, God through his man would recover him
-
of his leprosy. And of course, because leprosy was naming
-
the general alive, naming finally went. But since the how
-
he went with the wrong motives in mind, he went
-
with the wrong heart. He came to the right place
-
and to the right man, within pure motives, with his
-
mind preset, his mind made up. I've seen people move
-
from one church to another and says, you know what,
-
I'm gonna stay, and I'm gonna be a happy camper,
-
and I'm gonna be a participant as long as when
-
it really comes down to it, I get my way.
-
As long as whenever push comes to shove, I'm the
-
one doing the pushing, and I'm the one doing the shoving.
-
As long as I get to climb up on the
-
platform and sing, as long as I get to teach,
-
as long as I get to preach, as long as
-
I get to drive the church bus, as long as
-
I get to take over the service, Everything's gonna be okay.
-
So naming, he came the stere it already with his
-
mind made up. I'm gonna get my healing, but he's
-
gonna use the strong arm of the flesh. He's gonna
-
bring his caravan. He's gonna bring his royal steeds. He's
-
gonna bring his great words of flattery, his great gifts.
-
He's gonna go to the house of the prophet. He's
-
gonna expect the prophet to come out and maybe throw
-
a little glitter and gold dust on him, or maybe
-
some dandelion dust. He expects him to kind of do
-
some spectacle of something. And the prophet doesn't even care
-
to go look him in the eyes. The prophet sends
-
the servant to him. The prophet doesn't roll out the
-
red carpet. The prophet doesn't even sweep the front port.
-
Sister Grace, it'd be like somebody coming to see our
-
sales manager and brother Jeremiah telling Ethan go out there
-
and tell them, fine one, who does he think he is?
-
But the prophet told the servant go tell it all
-
goes through the servant. I know how you look at
-
a servant, But I've been trying to tell you to
-
be humble. I've been trying to tell you to be
-
a servant. I've been trying to tell you the value
-
and honor servitude. You know, I use a little maid,
-
a little servant girl, a little captive girl, to telling you.
-
You know you're trying to save pace and act like
-
she didn't preach your message, but that you came up
-
your own accord and came up your own choosing. But
-
I've gonna remind you about the servant. So when you
-
come to the front door of the prophet, another little
-
servant's gonna walk out there and say the mess. You know,
-
the one you're burging to get ahold of God, to
-
get you healed, the one you know you've got admit
-
you need him to speak a word from the throne
-
river of God. You know the Lord has got a
-
prayer life. You know the Lord has got the power.
-
A servant boy's gonna say the prophet the seer, the
-
one you've heard about, the one that controls our military,
-
the one that hears has God's harcle he speaks. He
-
said to tell you go to the river Jordan and
-
the deep seven times and naming, because it was in
-
his heart to do it a different way. He gets furious,
-
and he goes to leave, and his old servants again.
-
Out of the mouths of servants, hank, they know the
-
mind of God, they know the words of God. They
-
know the works of God. You will never do it
-
to ray and be healed. You will never do it
-
to ray and be successful. He's being hunted again by servants.
-
Do it the Muster's way, the little maid said. They
-
come on the servant, and the prophet said, do it
-
the Muster's way. And then his own servants are saying name.
-
And if you don't do it to way he told
-
you to do it, you're not gonna be healed. The
-
name he could say all he wanted to are not
-
the mighty rivers of Abana and far apart way greater
-
than this old money Jordan. No, ten thousand times. No,
-
you're rais or not his rasor your tortsul are not
-
his tutsul. His razor. Are past finding out to do
-
it his way or lose your soul? Do it his
-
way or lose your compass, or do it his way,
-
or lose your sensel her direction, do it his way
-
or God. He rides to the river Jordan, and against
-
his will, he wades into muddy Jordan. I don't know
-
if he was cursing and cussing or what he was doing,
-
but I know how some people are in church. He's
-
probably saying this is stupid. Not everybody's an Irish wooting.
-
I can see that little Holiness woman just plunging out there,
-
whoo glory. And there's some of you that are saved
-
Sanctify and Holy ghost Field because of the pride of
-
the unowned heart. Even though I love and I appreciate you,
-
and some of you might be family to save faith,
-
you'd be giving a disclaimer right now. I'm not so
-
sure this is really what God would have me to do.
-
I'm not so really sure that that man was speaking
-
the words of the God that heals leoprosy. You just
-
be giving you a disclaimer the whole time. I'm telling
-
you some of your good people with good hearts, but
-
you would speak what's going on in your mind and
-
your emotion? How do I know? How do I know?
-
Because I hear you sometimes do it? I see our
-
sweep right now. I see old brother Nathaniel right now,
-
nothing but legs and a cotton top. I could hear
-
brother Nathaniel servants saying, Master, Master. He didn't say die,
-
he said dip. Huh, you can die. When he said
-
dip and die, he said dip. You walk out there,
-
and you take a while yourself, can't I just do
-
it once and get it fixed. No, you so late
-
up with pride. We're gonna dimp. How that feel? I
-
love it? When God starts sowing out humble pie, he says,
-
one slice ain't enough? Nay man, all right, Syria in general,
-
real Lord, you've been distreet, destroying them Jews. Huh.
-
We'll take a dimp and dip again, and for again,
-
and this again. He dip again.
-
By this time, the beard is sagging. By this time,
-
the royal garments are staying. By this time, it don't
-
matter what nobody's saying, what nobody's taking a bath. A'mad
-
we'll ain't come up clean. We'll ain't come up clean.
-
I'll tell you if you do it God's way, you'll
-
come up clean. I said, if you'll do it God's way,
-
you'll come off clean. Bless up be the name ho
-
the Lord. Do it God's way. Let's stand and throw
-
those hands up to what heavened and let old Jesus,
-
even though his heart had his feelings by command of
-
his emotions were screaming leave and do it your way.
-
His servants were saying, do it God's way. His pride
-
may have told him not to take a bath him
-
money Jordan. But as Jesus said, take a bath him
-
money Jordan, I'm telling you, humble yourself, honey, the mighty
-
hand of God, do it God's way, and what's God
-
restore you alive. I feel impressed with the Holy Ghost.
-
To end with this, he could have went back to
-
Syria and called the king and the counselors and said,
-
I was told to do this. Isn't that crazy? And
-
I have a feeling that that Syrian king, who knew
-
something about the ways of our God, would have said down.
-
For Therefore, if I was you, I'd pack my bags,
-
turn around and go do it right. And I'm telling
-
some of you in this building, all you gotta do.
-
Turn around, come to the altar. Un Let's do it right. Well,
-
I know my heart. Stop playing that game. We don't
-
know our heart, but I know what to lone of
-
God's head. If I humble myself handed a mighty hand
-
of God, He'll lift me up. He'll lift me up,
-
He'll lift me up. All the altars open. Anybody want
-
to be healed tonight? I said, does anybody want to
-
be here tonight? I won a God said, it'll go first,
-
and you will be healed. I said, He'll send us
-
word and you will be healed. Praised me to Jesus.
-
Let's just gather around the front here. Hey man, there's
-
gotta be more than two or three. Amen, hallelujah, Amen naming.
-
Use Christ and his word as your compass. Callica son,
-
Use Christ and his word has your compass. Hey Dinah.
-
Maybe you have been in the far land. Maybe you
-
did wake up in a strange land, in the arms
-
of a stranger. Use Christ has your compass to get
-
back in the center of God's will. Ask the Lord
-
right now to help you surrender your will. The lyrics said, Jesus, Jesus,
-
not my will, help my will to crumble. Help my
-
will to crumble, help my will to crumble. H he's
-
so cool. Yeah yeah, you're so cool. Yeah a nabaha
-
he is so cool yeah baah yeah he's
