  1. Heat.

  2. Man, we got one back. Come on, Miss

  3. Carla. Hallelujah.

  4. You guys ready for the word of God? You

  5. guys ready for 2026? How did that

  6. happen? Man, here we are standing in a

  7. whole new year and and uh ready to kind

  8. of make some changes in life. Uh if

  9. you're a a guest with us, my name is

  10. Ben. I have the opportunity to serve as

  11. lead pastor here and so thankful you're

  12. with us. Uh man, we're just seeing week

  13. after week uh new guest uh first time

  14. guest, second time guest. Uh and

  15. thankful uh people must like us because

  16. they keep coming back. Ain't that cool?

  17. And uh excited for what God's doing in

  18. Grace Summit Church. Uh, I want to pray

  19. and we're going to dive into the word.

  20. Father, we thank you, Lord, for

  21. revelation today, insight,

  22. understanding, Father, into your

  23. spiritual truth. Father, I thank you,

  24. God, for allowing us, God, the grace and

  25. mercy to serve you well, to be sons and

  26. daughters of the most high God. Father,

  27. to walk in freedom and victory and

  28. power. Father, you've given so much to

  29. us. You've blessed us so well. And so,

  30. Father, in this hour, we bless you with

  31. our attention.

  32. Father, we thank you that all

  33. distractions be removed now in Jesus'

  34. name. Lord, that our eyes and our ears

  35. and our hearts are turned towards

  36. heaven. And Father, we receive your word

  37. for us today in Jesus name. Amen.

  38. So, hey, we're we're standing in a new

  39. year and uh man, I I was hoping that uh

  40. Corny Joke Sunday died last year, but I

  41. but I noticed that Corny Joke snuck into

  42. the 2026.

  43. Man, I was I was uh watching online last

  44. week and I'm like, what are these guys

  45. doing?

  46. Kind of fun, isn't it?

  47. Yeah. standing in a new year and you

  48. know a lot of us use uh new years as

  49. kind of a chance to hit the reset

  50. button. We've already talked briefly

  51. about resolutions and and uh there

  52. there's this kind of sense of hope uh

  53. when it changes years, doesn't it? Uh it

  54. kind of uh feel like we can uh start

  55. some things over again and and uh in a

  56. sense uh you know sometimes our prayer

  57. is uh God let this year be different.

  58. Anyone have that in their spirit, in

  59. their heart, looking for something

  60. different in 2026?

  61. And a lot of times with New Year's

  62. resolutions, we end up with new journals

  63. that are blank. Uh we sometimes put

  64. together, if you're anything like me,

  65. man, I'm a visionary. I'm a visual

  66. visual guy. And I like the vision board.

  67. Now, I use dry erase boards. I like to

  68. get all crazy with it and draw and kind

  69. of cast it out. What What are we going

  70. to do this year? What's it going to look

  71. like? And and so some of you have been

  72. working on a vision board. Uh maybe it's

  73. just me that does crazy stuff like that.

  74. Uh some of you uh maybe renewed your gym

  75. membership.

  76. Some of you need to renew your gym

  77. membership.

  78. New gym bag, new gym shoes, right? We're

  79. going to lose some weight in 2026. We're

  80. going to start eating right. And and uh

  81. some of you kind of reset your budget

  82. and and looking at uh how to spend

  83. differently and in this year to come.

  84. And and really in the middle of all this

  85. new energy

  86. as I bow myself before God and allow God

  87. to speak to me, the uh what I receive in

  88. the spirit

  89. is the word pause. Say pause.

  90. to kind of put the brakes on a little

  91. bit because sometimes we get caught up

  92. in the new energy to move forward before

  93. we even really have received from God

  94. the instructions of where he's taken us.

  95. I want you to say this out loud and let

  96. me just build this for a minute. We're

  97. in a series called hindsight,

  98. looking back to move forward. And I want

  99. you to say this out loud. My past

  100. is not my prison.

  101. It's my weapon.

  102. That's the theme for the day.

  103. My past is not my prison.

  104. It's my weapon. Here's the revelation

  105. for your 2026. The new year doesn't

  106. change your life. A new lens does.

  107. A lot of things in the spiritual realm,

  108. our victory a lot of times is sitting uh

  109. make or break on our perspective.

  110. on our perspective. And I want to give

  111. you a lens today called hindsight. We're

  112. looking back to move forward. But how'd

  113. you guys like the '9s worship, by the

  114. way? Isn't that kind of fun, man? I

  115. didn't even have to hear the lyrics. I

  116. didn't know what all songs you were

  117. doing, but soon as I walked in, I was

  118. like, "Oh, that's trading my sorrows,

  119. baby. What's up?

  120. About to get down." Yes, Lord. Yes, man.

  121. We used to do the Pentecostal. Yes,

  122. Lord. Yes, Lord. Yeah.

  123. getting it in. Then you get the you get

  124. the hard drum stop and it would just be

  125. vocals, man. 90s worship, baby. Bringing

  126. it back.

  127. Yeah,

  128. we're going to do it. I wanted to go

  129. back to the 70s. That would have been

  130. fun,

  131. man. Maybe we should have had Bill

  132. Glover. He's not He was in first

  133. service. We should have had Petra come

  134. back and do a little

  135. Praise the Lord. All right, I'm getting

  136. off my notes. What are we talking about?

  137. Looking back to move forward. You know,

  138. we've all heard the saying, hindsight is

  139. 2020. You guys familiar with that? Uh

  140. I've noticed that uh sometimes looking

  141. back can come also with disappointments

  142. or shame

  143. or pain.

  144. Today we're not talking about the

  145. hindsight of regret. We're talking about

  146. the hindsight of Revelation.

  147. You know, I think about Joseph and just

  148. a couple of months ago, we kind of

  149. unpacked the story of Joseph and and uh

  150. it's Genesis 37, I think, through about

  151. chapter 50. And Joseph was sold into

  152. slavery by his brothers. And I kind of

  153. think about this scene. He's in

  154. Poniper's house. He's he's been in

  155. prison. And uh you know I I imagine his

  156. hindsight being kind of a raw footage of

  157. of pain and disappointment uh of

  158. injustice, right? I know that uh it

  159. doesn't sound like a good idea to have

  160. my family sell me off into slavery

  161. and sell me and I'm in prison and and

  162. all these bad things are happening. Have

  163. you guys ever had any bad things happen

  164. to you?

  165. And do you know that bad things have a

  166. tendency to shape our perspective about

  167. the future?

  168. You're a product of your past, not a

  169. prisoner of your past.

  170. But Joseph, when his brothers finally uh

  171. have an opportunity to be face to face

  172. with him in Genesis 50, this is what

  173. Joseph says. He says to his brothers, he

  174. says, "You intended to harm me, but God

  175. intended it for good."

  176. My goodness. Do you guys know that what

  177. the devil meant for evil, God turns and

  178. uses for good. And when we look back on

  179. our story, because all of us have one,

  180. and we have those moments of pain and

  181. hurt and disappointment and all these

  182. different things, we have the

  183. opportunity to have a perspective that

  184. would be raw footage and that would just

  185. continue to pull us down. Or we can look

  186. back and say, "What the devil meant for

  187. evil, God, you're going to turn and use

  188. it for my good because I'm in love with

  189. Jesus." Amen.

  190. That's what Joseph was doing. You

  191. intended to harm me, but God intended it

  192. for good. The events didn't change. His

  193. perception of them did.

  194. The Apostle Paul in the New Testament,

  195. he's praying for the church in Ephesus,

  196. and he didn't pray for their

  197. circumstances to change.

  198. He prayed for their perspective to be

  199. upgraded.

  200. He prayed this in Ephesians 1 verse 18

    Ephesians 1:18

  201. that the eyes of your heart may be

  202. enlightened.

  203. The eyes of your heart

  204. may be enlightened.

  205. It's a light bulb moment. He's talking

  206. about spiritual hindsight that you would

  207. be able to see through the revelation of

  208. the spirit what God is actually doing.

  209. what God actually did in that season,

  210. how God actually carried you through and

  211. spared your life and saved you from this

  212. and all of the good things that God did.

  213. Now, the enemy will mess with you.

  214. Oh, you've had that happen, too. The

  215. enemy will attack you and mess with you,

  216. but he has no power over you if your

  217. perspective is God, you're going to use

  218. it for my good.

  219. It's perspective.

  220. Isaiah 30:20

    Isaiah 30:20

  221. says this, "And though the Lord give you

  222. the bread of adversity," wait a minute.

  223. I thought God was a good God.

  224. I thought God was a a bless me type God.

  225. Why does it say that God would give us

  226. the bread of adversity? What else does

  227. it say? And the water of affliction.

  228. That's strange. He says, "Yet your

  229. teacher, capital T, will not hide

  230. himself anymore."

  231. Do you know that the Holy Spirit will

  232. guide you into all truth? That the Holy

  233. Spirit is your teacher. And when we

  234. allow the Holy Spirit on the inside of

  235. us to be awakened, it illuminates the

  236. truth about the circumstance you're up

  237. against.

  238. He says, "Your teacher will not hide

  239. himself anymore, but your eyes shall see

  240. your teacher." Listen to verse 21. And

  241. your ears shall hear a word behind you.

  242. Say behind you.

  243. Shall hear a word behind you saying,

  244. "This is the way. Walk in it." When you

  245. turn to the right and when you turn to

  246. the left.

  247. Verse 22 says this, "Then you will

  248. defile your carved idols overlaid with

  249. silver, your goldplated metal images.

  250. You will scatter them as unclean things.

  251. You will say to them, "Be gone.

  252. Hindsight is 2020. We're talking about

  253. spiritual hindsight. The Bible says that

  254. there is a voice behind you saying,

  255. "This is the way. Now walk therein."

  256. There's a voice behind you giving you

  257. perspective on on how you should look at

  258. things and where you should move forward

  259. into. And in this he says when that

  260. voice behind you says walk, this is the

  261. way walk therein. It says, "Now you'll

  262. you'll defile those those idols and

  263. those carved things, those other things

  264. that you worship. You'll look at them

  265. and you'll say, "Be gone."

  266. How many times I've looked back at the

  267. pain in my past and I've allowed it to

  268. hold me in bondage in my present?

  269. Have you been there?

  270. And no matter how bad I knew that it

  271. was, no matter how bad I wanted to break

  272. free from it, I felt powerless

  273. to it. Am I preaching to anyone this

  274. morning?

  275. Absolutely powerless to it.

  276. And this scripture says there's a voice

  277. behind me saying, "This is the way. Walk

  278. therein." There's a voice behind me

  279. saying, "There's a voice behind me.

  280. There's a hindsight spiritual

  281. revelation. Do you guys know that God is

  282. beyond time?

  283. Yeah, I was thinking about this the

  284. other day. Sometimes I just think about

  285. scripture and uh I was thinking about

  286. the mount of transfiguration when Jesus

  287. goes up and Moses and Elijah are there

  288. and I was thinking about, you know,

  289. Moses never made it into the promised

  290. land. I'm just talking to the Christians

  291. for a minute. If you don't know these

  292. stories, hang with me for a minute.

  293. Moses never made it in the promise. Do

  294. you know that he made it into the

  295. promised land on that day? because he's

  296. standing on the mountain with Christ.

  297. And Elijah was there. Now listen, when

  298. Moses went up and Elijah went up, there

  299. was never a break in time. They weren't

  300. in some holding place for a while. When

  301. they went up, Jesus went up and they met

  302. on that mountain together. They

  303. transcended time.

  304. Okay, maybe that was just for me.

  305. Your ears

  306. shall hear a word behind you saying,

  307. "This is the way.

  308. Walk in it."

  309. Before we dive in too far, I want to

  310. talk about the devil for a minute.

  311. Not to glorify him because he's a bum

  312. and an idiot and I think he smells

  313. funny.

  314. Not to glorify him, but to expose him.

  315. I'm going to tell on the devil. If

  316. you're taking notes, write this down. He

  317. doesn't need to destroy you if he can

  318. distract you.

  319. He doesn't need to destroy you if he can

  320. distract you.

  321. He doesn't need to frighten you

  322. if he can blind you.

  323. That's why Paul was praying that the

  324. eyes of your heart may be enlightened

  325. because the enemy is emphatic and

  326. constant and and unrelenting

  327. to blind you to the truth about your

  328. circumstances of life.

  329. Blind you to hindsight.

  330. Blind you to what God has already said.

  331. to blind you to what God has already

  332. done in your life. Blind to the fact

  333. that you already have the victory.

  334. That's the truth.

  335. See, the devil's favorite weapon isn't

  336. fear. It's forgetfulness.

  337. If he can make you forget how God

  338. blessed you in past seasons, he can keep

  339. you from receiving the faith to move

  340. into the next season.

  341. from Genesis to Revelation. I love how

  342. raw and how real the Bible is that we

  343. see uh the hardships. We see people

  344. fail. We see people fall. And it's not

  345. because they lacked power. Often times

  346. it's because they lost perspective.

  347. I think back to the original sin with

  348. Adam and Eve in the garden with the

  349. serpent.

  350. And I look at what the serpent actually

  351. attacked. He didn't attack Eve's hands.

  352. He attacked her memory.

  353. You guys remember this? Did God really

  354. say?

  355. Did Did God really Let me Let me jog

  356. your memory for a minute, Eve. Did Did

  357. God really say all those things? I mean,

  358. did he did he mean it this way or did he

  359. mean it that way? And and so the enemy

  360. comes in, starts questioning you. And

  361. the first sin really was spiritual

  362. amnesia.

  363. She forgot

  364. how good God is. She forgot what God had

  365. said.

  366. And Eve fell for lack of hindsight.

  367. If the devil can make you forget what

  368. God said, he can keep you from what God

  369. has.

  370. And I think one of the worst mistakes we

  371. can make is acting like the devil is

  372. some cartoon in red pajamas with a

  373. pitchfork.

  374. Sometimes we get this idea that that

  375. it's you have Hollywood and all these

  376. different things, but uh we think the

  377. devil is just coming out all evil and

  378. crazy and dark.

  379. But the devil actually comes whispering

  380. in your ear

  381. to challenge your memory of how you see

  382. God.

  383. The devil is strategic.

  384. He's subtle.

  385. He's surgical.

  386. Here's what I found is that the devil

  387. can't defeat

  388. what God has done. So, he makes you

  389. doubt what God has said.

  390. Let me show you how the devil gets you.

  391. James chapter 1 says it like this, that

    James 1 chapter mention

  392. each one is tempted when they are

  393. dragged away by their own desires and

  394. enticed.

  395. tempted when you're dragged away by your

  396. own desires

  397. and enticed.

  398. Temptation is very rarely about what's

  399. in front of you. It starts with what's

  400. inside of you.

  401. Man, you can write that down.

  402. You know, God has brought me a mighty,

  403. mighty long way.

  404. Uh to even be standing on this platform

  405. is a miracle. And I look back on my

  406. testimony, right? And I have I have a

  407. past and my past is probably worse than

  408. yours.

  409. M maybe uh Pastor Dan's the only one

  410. that'll give me a run for the for my

  411. money.

  412. You were you worse than me?

  413. >> Pretty close.

  414. Couple of bums.

  415. If you're new, you may not know this,

  416. but man, I got delivered out of some

  417. wild stuff. crack cocaine and heroin and

  418. and running the streets and in jails and

  419. institutions and and rehabs and and just

  420. an absolute train wreck, right? And and

  421. I can look back on that and I can go,

  422. well, uh, addiction just runs in my

  423. family. I can look back and say, "Wo was

  424. me." And all these different things. Or

  425. I can look back and see how far God has

  426. brought me. Now, I want to share this.

  427. Uh, you guys might not know, but Pastor

  428. Dan and I go back a little ways,

  429. 20 years. You know what that means?

  430. You're getting old.

  431. >> But working with him early on in my

  432. ministry experience, uh, there was a

  433. guy, man, and I'm I'm just my my

  434. mentality was this when I first got

  435. saved, it was kind of preached to me

  436. this way that you stay away from people,

  437. places, and things. And so, so, you

  438. know, coming out of my extreme

  439. addiction, I I would feel some feelings

  440. that I didn't like sometimes. And I

  441. remember being out in public and

  442. smelling something that would that would

  443. start to stir up that old addiction. And

  444. I remember standing in public with cold

  445. sweats and it had been months since I

  446. had used anything. And the enemy was

  447. playing off of those desires. And and

  448. man, I remember hearing a song. Matter

  449. of fact, I took a a student to the

  450. doctor and I'm sitting in the waiting

  451. room and I hear this old song from my

  452. old sin life that started stirring all

  453. of those old feelings. And I remember

  454. just feeling like I was still in

  455. bondage, almost like a dry drunk. I

  456. mean, I had been away from the

  457. addiction, but the addiction hadn't got

  458. out of me yet.

  459. Amen.

  460. After serving for a while and really

  461. being serious about pursuing God, Pastor

  462. Dan called me in his office one day and

  463. said, "Hey, uh, so and so is uh, in a

  464. bad way, and I want you to go with me to

  465. rescue him." Sounds good. Let's go. So,

  466. brother So and So is in the worst motel.

  467. You know that motel?

  468. Yeah. the the the really crummy one and

  469. he's been held up in there for days

  470. using and doing all of his crazy sin

  471. life stuff. And so so Pastor Dan and I

  472. are going marching into hell for a

  473. heavenly cause. We're going to deliver

  474. to get this guy out of here and bring

  475. him back to Teen Challenge and and get

  476. him stable. And I remember walking in

  477. there and seeing all of my pasts laying

  478. out

  479. all of the things that would normally

  480. just wreck me. And I remember the Holy

  481. Spirit on the inside of me feeling

  482. grieved about the atmosphere I was in

  483. and seeing my friend which once was a

  484. brother in Christ hurting in such a way

  485. that man I just we just wanted to get

  486. him out of there. But I wasn't tempted.

  487. Can I tell you that the that the

  488. opposition, the temptation is very

  489. little to do with what's on the outside.

  490. It has everything to do with what's on

  491. the inside of you.

  492. That wasn't in my notes. That was free

  493. this morning.

  494. The devil's trying to use your desires

  495. against you. And here's the tricky part.

  496. A lot of times temptation looks like

  497. opportunity.

  498. It doesn't look like evil. Doesn't look

  499. like a guy with a pitchfork and horns.

  500. Sometimes it looks like this. Uh maybe

  501. this will make me happy.

  502. Maybe this will finally prove that I'm

  503. enough.

  504. Maybe this will fix what's broken inside

  505. of me.

  506. I like to look within myself and figure

  507. out the why. Why am I doing what I'm

  508. doing?

  509. And is it from some pain or insecurity

  510. or trying to prove myself?

  511. Or is it under uncction and prompting

  512. and leading of the Holy Spirit? Because

  513. I want to tell you friend, there is a

  514. voice behind you that is saying this is

  515. the way. Now walk therein.

  516. Let me give you the power of hindsight

  517. today. This is my personal game plan on

  518. for 2026.

  519. I'm going to give you three hindsights.

  520. Number one is the hindsight of his word.

  521. The hindsight of his word.

  522. Matthew chapter 4. Many of us are

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  523. familiar with the story, but that Jesus

  524. is fasting for 40 days and 40 nights.

  525. The Bible says that he's hungry. That's

  526. a gross understatement. After not eating

  527. for 40 days and 40 nights, I would

  528. assume that he's tired. He's out in the

  529. wilderness. And do you know that's right

  530. when the devil shows up to tempt him? Do

  531. you know that the enemy of your life has

  532. strategic timing? He will find you when

  533. you're wore out, when you're weak, when

  534. you're just not in the mood to handle it

  535. right now. Whatever that is, that's when

  536. the enemy will pounce and go, "Oh, oh,

  537. look, she's tired. He's Oh, look, he's

  538. already upset. So, I'm going to I'm

  539. going to pounce on him right now." The

  540. enemy did this to Jesus. When Jesus

  541. hasn't eaten anything for 40 days and 40

  542. nights, and he's hungry and he's tired,

  543. the devil shows up and says, says,

  544. "Jesus, I I can tell you're hungry. Why

  545. don't you just turn those stones into

  546. bread? you'll be just fine.

  547. Playing off of a desire. Jesus has a

  548. desire to eat food after 40 days of

  549. starving himself.

  550. What does Jesus say?

  551. He reaches back into what God has

  552. already said into hindsight.

  553. He says, "It is written, man shall not

  554. live on bread alone, but every word that

  555. proceedth out of the mouth of God.

  556. Take that, devil.

  557. Do you notice that Jesus didn't come up

  558. with some new insight,

  559. some new revelation, some new power?

  560. Do you realize that Jesus, our Lord and

  561. Savior, God in human flesh, reached back

  562. into the written word, hindsight, and

  563. said, "Devil, it is written. It's

  564. already been set. It's already been

  565. established. And the word of God has

  566. power to destroy you. It is written.

  567. Devil doesn't give up because he's an

  568. idiot.

  569. I want you to hear this. The word of God

  570. is not just information. It's

  571. ammunition.

  572. You can write that down for your 2026.

  573. You know, atheists, agnostics, different

  574. ones, historians, archaeologists, they

  575. look at this as just information.

  576. But I got to tell you, it's the sword of

  577. the spirit. This thing is sharp as a

  578. double-edged sword, piercing to the

  579. dividing aunderder of spirit and soul,

  580. joint and marorrow. It's a discerner of

  581. the thoughts and the intents of the

  582. heart. This word is alive. This word is

  583. powerful. And whenever the enemy comes

  584. against me, all I have to do is stand on

  585. it and say, "It is written, devil.

  586. It is established."

  587. The devil goes on verse 6, Matthew 4:6,

    Matthew 4:6

  588. he says, "If you are the son of God,

  589. throw yourself down, for it is written,

  590. he will command his angels concerning

  591. you." Do you notice that the devil now

  592. uses the written word against Jesus, the

  593. Savior?

  594. He goes, "Oh, you want to play that

  595. game? I know the word of God, too.

  596. And he says, "Throw yourself down."

  597. Really, what he's saying is, "If God

  598. loves you, prove it.

  599. If God's really for you, he'll take care

  600. of your budget. If God's really for you,

  601. he'll heal you. He doesn't want you to

  602. be in pain. If God actually loved you,

  603. and if you ever had this dialogue going

  604. in on inside of you, if God really loved

  605. me,

  606. maybe God had nothing to do with it.

  607. Maybe it's your own junk and God's

  608. waiting for you to catch perspective, to

  609. receive him, to gain freedom.

  610. If you are the son of God, throw

  611. yourself down.

  612. Jesus says again, "It is written, you

  613. shall not put the Lord your God to the

  614. test."

  615. Jesus doesn't try to prove himself.

  616. He stands on hindsight, the written

  617. word. Listen, validation doesn't come

  618. from proving yourself.

  619. Someone in here needs to hear that. It

  620. comes from positioning yourself in him.

  621. Again, the devil comes in verse 8, he

  622. says again, the devil took him to a very

  623. high mountain and showed him all the

  624. kingdoms of the world and their glory.

  625. And he said to him, all these I will

  626. give you if you will fall down and

  627. worship me. The devil is such an idiot,

  628. >> ain't he?

  629. >> Fall down and worship you. What an

  630. arrogant, selfish thing to say

  631. when he's a created being.

  632. God's the one to be worshiped, not him.

  633. Verse 10. Then Jesus said to him, "Be

  634. gone, Satan." Catch this. For it is

  635. written, "You shall worship the Lord

  636. your God, and him only shall you serve."

  637. Then the devil left him.

  638. Then the devil left him. Then the devil

  639. will leave you

  640. when we stand on the word. It is

  641. written. Hindsight is 2020.

  642. Then the devil left him and behold

  643. angels came and were ministering to him.

  644. I love it that Jesus doesn't negotiate.

  645. Jesus doesn't debate. He stands on that

  646. it is written.

  647. There's one thing that I want you to get

  648. for your 2026. That's begone Satan. It

  649. is written.

  650. Get the devil off our lives.

  651. Number one is the hindsight of his word.

  652. Number two is the hindsight of his

  653. works. Say works.

  654. Revelation 12:11 says this. And they

    Revelation 12:11

  655. overcame him. Overcame the devil by the

  656. blood of the lamb

  657. and by the word of their testimony.

  658. They overcame the devil by the blood of

  659. the lamb and the word of their

  660. testimony. That word testimony in the

  661. original language, I love studying

  662. original coin a Greek for some reason.

  663. It's uh maturia

  664. means evidence.

  665. It's not just your story.

  666. It's the evidence of God in your life.

  667. Evidence. that's used as a legal term in

  668. the first century.

  669. See, when the enemy comes in,

  670. he attempts to build a case against you.

  671. He's much like a spiritual prosecuting

  672. attorney in your trial.

  673. You'll never be good enough.

  674. You'll never break free from this.

  675. You'll never you're not able.

  676. Comes and builds his case against you.

  677. And your testimony is the evidence. It's

  678. ex exhibit A of God's faithfulness, of

  679. God's breakthrough, of freedom in your

  680. life. It's Jesus stepping in as your

  681. defense attorney.

  682. Somebody needs freedom in the house of

  683. God.

  684. Your testimony is sharing the evidence

  685. of what Jesus has done in your life.

  686. God before me, who can be against me? Do

  687. you know that your hindsight is a

  688. weapon?

  689. Freedom. The devil isn't afraid of your

  690. goals for 2026.

  691. He's terrified of your memories of what

  692. God has done in your life.

  693. Oh my goodness. That's the good stuff.

  694. Hindsight of his works.

  695. David, King David in Psalm 77, it's a

  696. psalm that starts out, David's in very

  697. deep distress. Verse 2 and three, he

  698. says this. He says, "My soul refuses to

  699. be comforted." Have you been there?

  700. I remember you, God, and I groaned.

  701. I meditated and my spirit grew faint.

  702. There's the woe is me perspective of

  703. King David. You read it down a little

  704. bit further in verse 11. And he says

  705. this. He says,"I will remember the deeds

  706. of the Lord." In other words, the works

  707. of the Lord. Yes, I will remember your

  708. wonders of old. I will ponder all your

  709. work and meditate on your mighty deeds.

  710. Your way, oh God, is holy.

  711. What God is great like our God.

  712. You are the God who works wonders. You

  713. have made known your might among the

  714. peoples.

  715. David moves from meditating on his pain

  716. to meditating on God's power.

  717. It's what God is calling us to. The Old

  718. Testament, there's a lot of times that

  719. God commands his people to remember. Uh

  720. when we take communion, we remember. God

  721. commands us to remember. Why does God

  722. tell his people to remember?

  723. The Hebrew word for remember

  724. means to bring the past into the

  725. present.

  726. To bring it into present tense.

  727. And so when I look back at how God

  728. brought me through here and how God

  729. brought me through here and I look back

  730. to the written word and I say it is

  731. written, it is said, is established. I'm

  732. pulling all of that into my present

  733. tense. I'm looking back so that I can

  734. move forward. Because how many times

  735. have I looked back and stood gripped

  736. with fear and pain and hurt and been

  737. stuck in bondage.

  738. Spiritual hindsight is 2020. It says

  739. remember bring that power from the past

  740. into your present.

  741. Your testimony is bringing into present

  742. the evidence of God in your life.

  743. Deuteronomy 8 says, ' Remember the Lord

  744. your God, for it is he who gives you

  745. power. Deuteronomy 15:15, you shall

    Deuteronomy 15:15

  746. remember that you were a slave in the

  747. land of Egypt, and the Lord your God

  748. redeemed you.

  749. Remember,

  750. remember, it's hindsight

  751. of his works.

  752. It's kind of like showing the devil a

  753. receipt.

  754. It's already been paid for. It's already

  755. been set. It's already been established.

  756. And the enemy will come to you in 2026.

  757. He will come and try to tempt you and

  758. lure you and mess with you.

  759. But when you remember, when you step in

  760. hindsight, it's pulling out that receipt

  761. and saying, "Uh-uh, God seen me through

  762. here, and God will see me through here."

  763. It's your living record of the works of

  764. God. Look at David when he was young.

  765. This young shepherd boy facing the giant

  766. named Goliath. You know, the entire army

  767. was frozen in fear.

  768. But David isn't looking at the giant in

  769. front of him. He's looking at the lion

  770. and the bear behind him.

  771. He tells Saul this. He says, "The Lord

  772. who rescued me from the paw of the lion

  773. and the bear will rescue me from the

  774. hand of this Philistine."

  775. He pulls out the receipt. He says, "Man,

  776. I was out in the wilderness and this

  777. lion tried to kill me and steal all my

  778. sheep. And God, you showed up and I was

  779. able to kill this lion. I was able to

  780. kill that bear under uncction of the

  781. Holy Spirit. And God, I knew that I

  782. couldn't do it on my own strength. You

  783. brought me through and you killed that

  784. lion through me. And I'm standing face

  785. to face with this giant, nasty, stinky

  786. Philistine that's trying to kill me and

  787. all of my people. And I'm not I'm not

  788. looking for something new now. I'm

  789. standing on the God that I know has

  790. carried me through. Amen.

  791. Hindsight is 2020.

  792. Write this down. Your past victory is

  793. the down payment on your future

  794. deliverance.

  795. David didn't have confidence in his

  796. slingshot.

  797. He had evidence in his story.

  798. He's saying, "This giant is just a lion

  799. in different armor."

  800. Here's what we need to remember in 2026.

  801. We're not facing a new problem. We're

  802. facing an old enemy with a new costume.

  803. Hindsight of his word, number one.

  804. Number two is hindsight of his works.

  805. And number three is hindsight of his

  806. wounds.

  807. Revelation 12:11 again says this. And

    Revelation 12:11

  808. they overcame him by what?

  809. The blood of the lamb.

  810. The blood of the lamb. And by the word

  811. of their testimony. So we have the

  812. evidence of God working. But can I tell

  813. you that your testimony is only your

  814. story until it's covered with the blood?

  815. It's the receipt that says paid in full.

  816. When the enemy accuses you, comes

  817. against you, you pull out that blood

  818. stained receipt. You look at the devil

  819. and you say, "Case closed. Get out of

  820. here."

  821. Man,

  822. that's good news. That's good news

  823. because the blood of Jesus Christ

  824. completely disarmed all power of the

  825. enemy. He has nothing to use against

  826. you.

  827. No legal rights. On the cross, every

  828. accusation, every ounce of shame and

  829. guilt was destroyed. Every chain, every

  830. bondage shattered. Colossians 2:13 says

    Colossians 2:13

  831. this, "And you who were dead in your

  832. trespasses and the uncircumcision of

  833. your flesh, God made alive together with

  834. him, having forgiven us all our

  835. trespasses." Listen to verse 14. and by

  836. cancelling the record of debt that stood

  837. against us with its legal demands.

  838. This he set aside, nailing it to the

  839. cross. He disarmed the rulers and

  840. authorities and put them to open shame

  841. by triumphing over them in him.

  842. That's the it is written devil. Amen.

  843. There's no authority, no ruler, no power

  844. of darkness that can overcome you. You

  845. have freedom. You have victory. You have

  846. power in Christ through the blood of

  847. Jesus.

  848. That's the it is written.

  849. The devil's greatest weapon is

  850. accusation. And Jesus's final answer was

  851. crucifixion.

  852. When the enemy comes against you and

  853. digs up your past and hurls accusations,

  854. you don't have to flinch. You don't have

  855. to hide. You just point to the cross.

  856. say the judge already declared me not

  857. guilty.

  858. Awtoer said this. He said refuse to be

  859. intimidated

  860. by the propaganda of the devil. The

  861. blood of Christ is still powerful to

  862. save, to cleanse, to restore,

  863. and to overcome.

  864. You might be in here today carrying some

  865. old accusations, some old labels.

  866. something that calls you failure,

  867. broken, not good enough,

  868. damaged goods.

  869. I'm here to tell you that the cross is

  870. God's receipt.

  871. It's the bloodstained proof that your

  872. freedom has been fully purchased.

  873. As we stand at the starting line of

  874. 2026,

  875. let me give you a new resolution to take

  876. with you.

  877. Rehearse the receipts.

  878. Rehearse the receipts

  879. of God showing up in your life.

  880. Write down what God has done.

  881. Journal the victory. Screenshot the

  882. answered prayers. Whatever you got to do

  883. that you remember the goodness of God in

  884. your life. Amen. I wrote this down. It's

  885. it says this. What you rehearse you will

  886. remember and what you remember you will

  887. repeat.

  888. That's good news.

  889. I'm not entering 2026 hoping that God

  890. might do something.

  891. I'm entering 2026 knowing that God has

  892. already done everything that we need.

  893. And we just stand in him.

  894. I want to challenge you as we're

  895. standing at the beginning of a new year

  896. to pray and receive a word from God for

  897. your life.

  898. I'll go first.

  899. Philippians chapter 1 and verse 6. Being

    Philippians 1 chapter mention

  900. confident of this very thing, that he

  901. who hath begun a good work in you will

  902. perform it until the day of Jesus

  903. Christ.

  904. I've received that as my word for the

  905. year.

  906. God started a good work in me

  907. and I believe he's going to continue to

  908. perform that until we make it home to

  909. see Jesus face to face.

  910. Stand to your feet with me all over this

  911. house.

  912. If God before you, who can be against

  913. you?

  914. If God before you, who can be against

  915. you?

  916. If God before me, who in the world could

  917. be against me?

  918. We don't have to come up with some new

  919. strategy,

  920. some new idea.

  921. You guys ever get sick of all the

  922. salesmen?

  923. Lose weight with three easy steps.

  924. Financial freedom. Do this. Do this.

  925. Shut up.

  926. I'm not trying to come up with some new

  927. strategy for 2026. I'm standing on the

  928. foundation.

  929. The ancient of days, the alpha and the

  930. omega, the beginning and the last, the

  931. one that transcends time. I'm standing

  932. upon the foundation. I call him Jesus.

  933. I want to speak a declaration over your

  934. life and over your year.

  935. And if you would receive this

  936. declaration, just raise your hands

  937. towards heaven and posture yourself in

  938. prayer before God.

  939. This year 2026,

  940. you will not move forward with spiritual

  941. amnesia.

  942. You will march into your future

  943. with holy hindsight.

  944. The memories the enemy tried to use to

  945. shame you

  946. will become the sermons that you preach

  947. to others.

  948. The tears you cried in the dark

  949. will become the testimony that leads

  950. others to the light.

  951. Your past will not be a weight on your

  952. back

  953. but will be a wind at your back.

  954. You will look at every giant and say,

  955. "My God is a giant slayer."

  956. You will face every red sea and say, "My

  957. God is a way maker."

  958. You will walk through every fire and

  959. say, "My God is the fourth man standing

  960. with me."

  961. 2026 is your year of freedom,

  962. of victory,

  963. and power.

  964. If you receive that declaration, say,

  965. "Amen."

  966. >> Amen.

  967. Praise you, Jesus.

  968. I'm going to ask the worship team to

  969. join me up here.

  970. In just a moment, we're going to close

  971. with worship. Our prayer team is going

  972. to be up here. And if you need to

  973. receive prayer for anything, whether

  974. that's a physical healing, an emotional

  975. healing, if it's a blessing prayer over

  976. your 2026,

  977. if it's for an unsaved loved one,

  978. whatever your need is, I want to invite

  979. you to an altar of prayer as we worship

  980. together. Pray with me. Father, we thank

  981. you, Lord, for the spirit of the living

  982. God dwelling on the inside of us. And

  983. Father, we pray that in this season,

  984. your spirit would overwhelm the system,

  985. God. that you would rise up on the

  986. inside of us in this 2026, God, pushing

  987. out all powers of darkness, all powers

  988. of the enemy. Father, we pray that this

  989. would be the year that the lion roars

  990. through us. Father, we thank you for

  991. revival in our personal lives in 2026.

  992. Father, I thank you Lord

  993. for you using our lives that others

  994. might be saved and come to the knowledge

  995. of Jesus Christ be forgiven their sins

  996. and make heaven their home. Father, I

  997. thank you for blessing us in Jesus name.

  998. Amen. The altars are open. Won't you

  999. come?
