  1. Heat. Heat.

  2. Hallelujah.

  3. >> Hey guys, we made it.

  4. >> It's resurrection Sunday.

  5. >> Isn't that the good news?

  6. >> You guys ready for the word of God

  7. today? Amen.

  8. >> Hey, if you're a guest with us today, my

  9. name is Ben and have the opportunity to

  10. serve as lead pastor here. And uh man,

  11. it's just a good day to be alive.

  12. >> You know, historians uh a lot of

  13. historians, there's a little bit of

  14. division in it, believe that today is

  15. actually the day uh all those years ago

  16. to remember this is the the calendar

  17. lined up this year uh that today is the

  18. day of the resurrection. And so, we have

  19. a lot to celebrate. Would you bow your

  20. heads and bow your hearts as we open

  21. with a word of prayer?

  22. Father, we thank you, Lord, for revival

  23. living on the inside of us. Father, for

  24. the resurrection power of Jesus Christ

  25. being in this space, in this room, Lord,

  26. we came, Father, to hear from you,

  27. Lord. We pray that we wouldn't simply

  28. hear words from men, but God, Lord, by

  29. the spirit of the living God, that we

  30. would receive divine

  31. understanding and revelation,

  32. divine impartation of grace. Father, I

  33. pray, Lord, that you preach today, God,

  34. that you deliver to your children the

  35. word that you have for us today, God.

  36. So, Lord, I thank you for every soul in

  37. this room. Lord, I do not believe in

  38. accidents. I believe that we are all

  39. every one of us in this room on purpose

  40. for this moment in time. And Lord, you

  41. have our attention.

  42. We thank you for it, Lord, in Jesus

  43. name. Amen.

  44. >> Amen.

  45. >> You know, it's always a fun time of year

  46. to be in church. And today, we're not

  47. just celebrating Easter. Uh we're

  48. celebrating so much more than that. It's

  49. historical. Uh, it's the physical

  50. undeniable events of the resurrection of

  51. Jesus Christ. Amen. Yeah. I think about

  52. uh I love history. I kind of geek out on

  53. it sometimes, but uh I think about that

  54. he appeared to 500 after the

  55. resurrection. He's he's dead. He's in

  56. the tomb and then three days later, this

  57. is the good news, right? He raises from

  58. the dead and then he appears to 500

  59. individuals. Do you know that a lot of

  60. them were beaten, imprisoned, and

  61. martyed just because they wouldn't deny

  62. that they saw the risen Jesus? Do you

  63. know that sane people don't die for a

  64. lie?

  65. >> Amen.

  66. >> Uh they don't I'm not going to be

  67. separated from my family and be put in

  68. prison for a length of time uh to to

  69. confess a lie.

  70. We lie so we get out of jail. I wasn't

  71. always saved. You know what I'm talking

  72. about. We lie so we don't get in

  73. trouble. We don't tell the lies so we

  74. can get into trouble. So man, we're

  75. celebrating the historical, physical,

  76. undeniable event that Jesus Christ

  77. though on Friday he died on a cross, was

  78. crucified to take away the sins of all

  79. mankind.

  80. That three days later, say three days

  81. later.

  82. >> Oh my goodness. This is the reason we

  83. have church. This is the reason we have

  84. something to believe in. That three days

  85. later that man Jesus got up out of the

  86. grave and rose again.

  87. >> Amen.

  88. >> Thank you, Jesus.

  89. >> Matthew 28 and verse one

  90. says this. It says, "Now after the

  91. Sabbath,

  92. toward the dawn of the first day of the

  93. week, which would be Sunday, Mary

  94. Magdalene and the other Mary went to see

  95. the tomb."

  96. Have you ever wondered why we worship on

  97. Sunday and not Saturday?

  98. This is why. Right here, first day of

  99. the week, Mary Magdalene and the other

  100. Mary went to see the tomb. And behold,

  101. there was a great earthquake.

  102. For an angel of the Lord descended from

  103. heaven, and came and rolled back the

  104. stone, and sat on it.

  105. His appearance was like lightning, and

  106. his clothing was white as snow.

  107. And for fear of him, the guards

  108. trembled,

  109. became like dead men.

  110. But the angel said to the woman, "Do not

  111. be afraid, for I know that you seek

  112. Jesus, who was crucified.

  113. He's not here, for he is risen, as he

  114. said. Come see the place where he lay."

  115. I want to kind of help paint the scene a

  116. little bit. This was very early Sunday

  117. morning. Uh, still dark out. These

  118. women,

  119. Mary Magdalene

  120. and the other Mary,

  121. are walking to the tomb

  122. carrying their items. They're not

  123. walking with faith and expectation that

  124. Jesus has rose from the dead. They're

  125. bringing items to prepare the body for

  126. burial.

  127. They're not walking in faith. They're

  128. walking in grief.

  129. They just watched him die on Friday.

  130. I can't imagine standing at the foot of

  131. that cross.

  132. Jesus marred beyond the image of a man,

  133. watching him after all the miracles, all

  134. the signs, all the wonders, all of the

  135. love, watching him die on that cross.

  136. Three days later, they come just like we

  137. would go to a cemetery to remember our

  138. loved ones.

  139. But as they show up,

  140. an earthquake,

  141. an angel that appears like lightning.

  142. I would have liked to seen the look on

  143. the Roman soldiers. Those guards says

  144. they were like dead men. They were

  145. paralyzed.

  146. What is going on? What happened? Right?

  147. There's an angel sitting here in an

  148. earthquake.

  149. The stone is rolled away. And the angel

  150. looks at these two women and says, "Do

  151. not be afraid.

  152. I know that you're looking for Jesus.

  153. He's not here. He is risen just like he

  154. said he would."

  155. The tomb,

  156. it's empty. That's the good news. What

  157. they came to grieve was gone.

  158. And what they thought was the end of the

  159. story, catch this, was just the

  160. beginning of the story. I want to tell

  161. you this morning, whatever God's doing

  162. in your life, somebody in here thinks

  163. it's the end of the story for you.

  164. Thinks that uh the struggle is too much

  165. for them. There's this mindset that we

  166. get at when we're walking in our own

  167. humanity, our own flesh, that we go,

  168. "Well, I just settle because because

  169. this is the best that I can do." C can I

  170. tell you this is today the beginning of

  171. your story?

  172. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes

  173. everything. 1 Corinthians chapter 15,

    1 Corinthians 15 chapter mention

  174. a couple of scriptures.

  175. Verse 55 says, "Oh death, where is your

  176. victory? Oh death, where is your sting?

  177. The sting of death is sin, and the power

  178. of sin is the law.

  179. But thanks be to God who gives us the

  180. victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

  181. Yeah, I love the Apostle Paul. He's

  182. echoing some Old Testament stuff here,

  183. but he's writing a church uh writing a

  184. letter to the church of Corenth. And my

  185. goodness, in this uh he's standing face

  186. to face with death and trash talking,

  187. right? Death, where is your sting? Hey,

  188. death, where is your victory? Because

  189. the death, the reality is is that death

  190. is chasing us all. The devil came to

  191. steal, kill, and destroy you and me. I

  192. don't know if you felt it, but I have.

  193. The devil is trying to kill us.

  194. And Paul says, "Hey, death, I got a

  195. couple questions first." He starts

  196. interrogating death. Death, where is

  197. your victory? I I believe this. We need

  198. to be asking the same question that Paul

  199. asked death because the enemy will not

  200. relent trying to chase you down to

  201. steal, kill, and destroy. And and when

  202. the enemy comes in, the Bible says, when

  203. the enemy comes in like a flood, the

  204. spirit of the Lord raises a standard

  205. against it. And when the enemy comes

  206. into my life, I stand face to face with

  207. it like Paul did. And I and Hey, death,

  208. I have a few questions to ask you.

  209. Where is your sting?

  210. Where is your victory?

  211. If Jesus was still in the grave, death

  212. wins.

  213. But thanks be unto God who gives us the

  214. victory

  215. through our Lord Jesus Christ. The truth

  216. is on that day, death lost

  217. and it's been losing ever since.

  218. >> Hallelujah.

  219. >> I'm preaching to somebody this morning.

  220. On that day, death lost and it's been

  221. losing

  222. ever since. I believe this for the life

  223. of a believer. I believe it for all

  224. people. It's time to start interrogating

  225. the death that's in pursuit of your

  226. life.

  227. I want you to say this out loud. Say,

  228. "God, you're right on time."

  229. >> You ever had that feeling?

  230. You're running late for something.

  231. >> You know that feeling?

  232. >> Carla, have you ever felt it?

  233. >> They know you, too.

  234. >> We like to pick on Carla. She's going to

  235. be late for her own funeral.

  236. >> I hate being late. I hate running late.

  237. I hate that feeling. U I'm getting old

  238. enough now where I leave way too early

  239. for stuff. Old guys, where are you? Come

  240. on.

  241. Yeah. I'd rather get there and wait in

  242. the parking lot than be feel that

  243. feeling of, you know. Yeah. Feeling of

  244. rushing around. And why is it every time

  245. that you're running late, you can't find

  246. your keys?

  247. >> Or now it's your cell phone. It's like,

  248. where in the world? And and and every

  249. time it's right where I left it. That's

  250. where I find it. It's right exactly

  251. where I left it. But somehow that

  252. anxiety, that that emotion, it's like,

  253. man, I'm running late. I feel this this

  254. urgency. Have you ever been running late

  255. and having all of that and you drive

  256. like a maniac through traffic and while

  257. you're driving it's like every old

  258. person in a Buick happens to be right in

  259. front of you.

  260. You're like you're doing 15 miles an

  261. hour under the speed limit. I have to

  262. I'm running late.

  263. You're watching the light turn from

  264. green to yellow and you're hoping you

  265. can make it, but of course you don't

  266. >> because you're running late.

  267. You ever been running late like that and

  268. you finally get to the place that you're

  269. supposed to get and you walk in and it's

  270. like you're right on time like it's no

  271. big deal and you're like what was this

  272. chaos for the last 20 minutes but what

  273. was that feeling? I want to prophesy a

  274. little bit to you this morning.

  275. There's somebody in here that you think

  276. you've been running late for God.

  277. You might have thought that you've

  278. missed it. You're late getting free.

  279. You're late getting serious about God.

  280. Here's the word of the Lord today. God

  281. says, "You're right on time."

  282. Look at your neighbor and say, "You're

  283. right on time."

  284. Somebody walked in here today with

  285. something heavy on their heart. Heavy in

  286. their life. Something very real.

  287. Situation that you've been sitting with

  288. for months, if not years.

  289. You have that question that God hasn't

  290. answered yet.

  291. and that struggle that you can't seem to

  292. break free from.

  293. Can I say this? If you're struggling

  294. with addiction, God says today

  295. is a way out for you.

  296. If you're struggling with depression, if

  297. you're struggling with suicidal thoughts

  298. or tendencies,

  299. if you're struggling with that weight,

  300. there's a solution in this room. His

  301. name is Jesus. The Bible says, "He who

  302. the Son sets free is free indeed."

  303. All you have to do is believe it. All

  304. you have to do is receive it today. God

  305. says, "Now is the time.

  306. Now is the time." Not because it's

  307. Easter.

  308. It's because the same God that

  309. circled that Sunday a couple thousand

  310. years ago circled that Sunday on the

  311. calendar and said, "That's the day for

  312. my son to rise from the dead. That's the

  313. day for the sins of all mankind to be

  314. washed away." When God circled that on

  315. that calendar, he also knew you and

  316. thought of you and thought of this day

  317. and circled this day on your calendar

  318. that you can leave this place free

  319. through the blood of Jesus Christ.

  320. H

  321. devil keeps whispering you're not ready

  322. that dumb devil.

  323. You know what I hope? This isn't in my

  324. notes.

  325. I hope on our way to heaven when we pass

  326. from this life into the next. Um I I

  327. hope we get to walk right past Lou

  328. Cifer.

  329. I hope we get to walk right. I hope we

  330. get to take a couple of good swings at

  331. that guy.

  332. >> I mean, all of the death, all of the

  333. murder, all of the evil, everything is

  334. because of that punk. That's

  335. >> right,

  336. >> man. I remember I'll date myself a

  337. little bit. When I was young, I used to

  338. like that movie Kickboxer.

  339. Yeah. And they would wrap their hands

  340. and they would dip it in like something

  341. sticky and then they would dip it in in

  342. the glass. Anyone know

  343. >> before they'd go and fight? Man, I want

  344. to I want to walk right up and dip my

  345. hands in the blood of Jesus and be like,

  346. "Come on, devil.

  347. Yeah.

  348. >> Tell you this. If you're going to stay

  349. saved, you need a backbone in the

  350. spirit.

  351. >> If you're going to stay saved, you got

  352. to walk in the victory that was already

  353. won for us. The blood of Christ, the

  354. resurrection of Jesus.

  355. The devil will whisper in your ear even

  356. today. You're not ready.

  357. You look at your life and you go,

  358. "You're right, devil. I don't feel ready

  359. to make any decision like this.

  360. You know what I've learned is that

  361. you'll never feel ready.

  362. >> You'll never feel ready because ready is

  363. not a feeling.

  364. >> Ready is a decision.

  365. >> Somebody needs to write that down and

  366. take it to the bank.

  367. >> Heard it so oh so many times over the

  368. years. I just don't feel ready. You're

  369. never going to feel ready to do the

  370. right thing in Christ.

  371. you're never going to feel ready because

  372. unsaved, we're driven by our own

  373. humanity, our own flesh, our own will.

  374. Making a decision for Christ isn't

  375. saying, "I'm finally ready. I think I'm

  376. good enough now." It's saying, "Lord, I

  377. I'm not ready. I'm a train wreck. I'm a

  378. mess. And I need you to save me."

  379. So, death is defeated. The tomb is

  380. empty. The stone is rolled away.

  381. Title of the message today is God is

  382. always on time.

  383. God is always on time. Number one in

  384. your notes,

  385. everything hangs on this moment.

  386. Everything in all of humanity,

  387. everything in your life hangs on this

  388. moment. You know, the Apostle Paul, he's

  389. one of the most powerful men who ever

  390. picked up a pen, wrote most of the New

  391. Testament. He sits down and writes

  392. to the church in Corinth and he gets

  393. brutally honest.

  394. I'm sure the church was uncomfortable.

  395. He says this in 1 Corinthians 15 verse

    1 Corinthians 15:17

  396. 17. He says, "And if Christ has not been

  397. raised, your faith is futile.

  398. It's empty. It's in vain.

  399. Your faith is futile and you are still

  400. in your sins."

  401. Then those also who have fallen asleep

  402. in Christ have perished.

  403. If in Christ we have hope in this life

  404. only, we are of all people most to be

  405. pied.

  406. Hear this. He says, "But in fact, in

  407. fact, Christ has been raised from the

  408. dead." Do you know that those three

  409. words changed everything?

  410. If if Jesus Christ didn't get out of

  411. that tomb and didn't raise from the

  412. dead, our faith is empty. Coming into

  413. this room and singing those songs,

  414. it's just making noise. We might as well

  415. be at the bar doing karaoke.

  416. Reading this book, empty, vanity,

  417. worthless.

  418. Joining a good church like Grace Summit

  419. Church,

  420. letting people love it, it's all vanity.

  421. He says, "If Christ wasn't raised from

  422. the dead, your faith is futile."

  423. But in fact,

  424. but in fact, Jesus Christ did rise from

  425. the dead.

  426. >> I'm a testimony of a risen savior. Do I

  427. have any other testimonies in this

  428. house? I am a testimony of a risen

  429. savior. I I was dead in sin, but now I'm

  430. alive unto God. I was overwhelmed and

  431. steeped in addiction and hatred and and

  432. depra. I was I was in this camp. AND

  433. BECAUSE I PUT MY FAITH IN THIS risen

  434. savior, he crossed me over from death to

  435. life.

  436. >> I got a testimony.

  437. You have a testimony.

  438. My faith isn't worthless.

  439. Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

  440. See, before the resurrection,

  441. death had dominion.

  442. After the resurrection,

  443. death was declined. Say declined.

  444. >> I've been broke a few times in my life.

  445. Anyone in here ever been broke?

  446. Yeah.

  447. Still not too far from it. Hallelujah.

  448. four kids and pastors pay.

  449. >> You ever had this experience where you

  450. got you got the cart full of whatever.

  451. You're going up and scanning the items

  452. and then it comes time to pay.

  453. You're feeling pretty good about life.

  454. Put the card in and it says declined.

  455. Isn't that the worst feeling on earth?

  456. You ever had it happen? You're like, I

  457. know I got money in that account. Well,

  458. obviously you don't. You bum.

  459. And it says decline. And what do you do?

  460. You scr You look for the second card.

  461. You know the second card's worse than

  462. the first. What are you even looking

  463. for?

  464. Yeah.

  465. Standing there, man. It's so

  466. embarrassing. And you just feel like an

  467. absolute dork. Look at your neighbor and

  468. say, "Dork." Didn't think you'd do that

  469. on Easter Sunday, did you?

  470. Ma'am, can you run it again?

  471. She looks at you like, "Okay."

  472. Declined.

  473. Declined. You want to know what my

  474. ambition is in Christ? Is to make the

  475. devil have that feeling over and over

  476. about my life when he comes to cash in

  477. on my life and run the charge of guilt.

  478. Declined.

  479. >> Amen. Amen.

  480. >> Decline.

  481. Decline. The devil came to steal, kill,

  482. and destroy, but Christ came that we

  483. might have life and have it more

  484. abundantly.

  485. >> When the devil tries to kill you,

  486. card says decline.

  487. Enemy brings up your past, that

  488. addiction that you can't shake, that

  489. shame that you've been nursing for

  490. years. He's trying to run a transaction

  491. on a closed account.

  492. Man, you can write that down. The

  493. devil's trying to run a transaction on a

  494. closed account. It was closed 2,000

  495. YEARS AGO. DEVIL, WHY ARE YOU EVEN

  496. STANDING HERE WITH YOUR STUPID LITTLE

  497. CARD?

  498. >> DECLINE,

  499. MAN. We got to get that in us.

  500. >> Devil comes in, he's not going to stop.

  501. He's going to keep coming in like with

  502. that confidence like this thing's going

  503. to work. Blood of Christ, resurrected

  504. Christ. Decline. Devil declined. You got

  505. to get some declined on the inside of

  506. you.

  507. Almost started preaching right there.

  508. Hallelujah. Carl, I will do a victory

  509. lap. Mhm. Somebody's watching online.

  510. I'll end up in their living room if I

  511. get two. Ah,

  512. yeah.

  513. Jesus Christ rose from the dead. That

  514. means that your faith has value.

  515. That means that your card in heaven

  516. >> has worth. Amen. Hallelujah.

  517. >> Yeah. I was thinking about that thief on

  518. the cross next to Jesus.

  519. I'm preaching. I didn't even preach this

  520. first service. I'm just preaching to

  521. you. Is that okay?

  522. >> I was thinking about that thief on the

  523. cross next to Jesus. And uh the guy

  524. didn't have a whole lot of time,

  525. you know, and uh I just picture that

  526. moment. Jesus says, you know, today

  527. you'll be with me in paradise. This

  528. guy's just hanging there, you know.

  529. But I picture them going into heaven. I

  530. think Jesus made it there first. I don't

  531. know. But I just picture that

  532. whoever's gatekeeping up there. Is it

  533. Peter? That's what everybody thinks,

  534. right?

  535. Go. Hey, who are you?

  536. Who are you? He goes says his name. We

  537. don't even know his name. I'm the thief

  538. on the cross.

  539. Why are you here? What?

  540. What are you doing? you can't

  541. by what right do you have to come in

  542. here and he says I don't know the man on

  543. the center cross said I could come in

  544. I don't know that I think they called

  545. him Jesus he said I could come in I tell

  546. you that your faith has value to open

  547. doors man that guy was never baptized in

  548. water he never spoke in tongues he never

  549. joined a church

  550. he's a thief hanging on a cross that

  551. looked at Jesus and believed he was who

  552. he said he was

  553. and he made it into paradise.

  554. Today you can make that same choice and

  555. as a life of a believer you get to make

  556. that same choice day by day that today

  557. I'm just going to believe on Jesus.

  558. Luke 22:31, Jesus speaking to Simon

    Luke 22:31

  559. Peter. He says,"Simon, Simon, behold,

  560. Satan demanded to have you that he might

  561. sift you like wheat,

  562. but I have prayed for you that your

  563. faith

  564. may not fail."

  565. You I read that my hope is,

  566. "Hey, you know, Satan came and said, I

  567. want to take you out, Simon." My hope

  568. with Jesus would be like, "Hey, I I

  569. stepped in front. I took the bullet for

  570. you. I I I kicked him out." And Jesus

  571. doesn't say any of that. He says, "Satan

  572. has demanded to have you, to sift you

  573. like wheat." And Jesus says, "I stepped

  574. back and I pray that your faith would

  575. not fail." Do you know that your faith

  576. is power?

  577. >> Your faith is valuable. Your faith alone

  578. in Christ is enough to demolish the

  579. powers of darkness.

  580. faith in Jesus. It's believing in the

  581. finished work of Jesus Christ. It's

  582. believing in the resurrection power of

  583. Jesus Christ.

  584. Here's what I've learned. I've served

  585. God a long time now.

  586. If I believe God for nothing,

  587. I will 100% of the time get nothing from

  588. God.

  589. Amen.

  590. What's the risk of trusting God,

  591. believing God?

  592. If I consistently don't trust him for

  593. anything, believe him for nothing,

  594. you'll get nothing.

  595. What do you believe in God for?

  596. Number two, in your notes, this moment

  597. changes your name.

  598. This moment changes your name.

  599. Galatians chapter 4, Paul uses a word

    Galatians 4 chapter mention

  600. that I really want us to grab hold of

  601. today. He says this in Galatians 4:4,

    Galatians 4:4

  602. "But when the fullness of time had come,

  603. God sent forth his son, born of a woman,

  604. born under the law, to redeem those who

  605. were under the law, so that we might

  606. receive adoption

  607. as sons."

  608. That word for fullness of time is

  609. playma.

  610. It means the appointed exact god-ord

  611. ordained moment in time. We're stuck in

  612. this calendar timeline here. There's a

  613. whole different calendar and timeline in

  614. heaven. Amen. God has an appointed time

  615. for your life. God had an appointed time

  616. for Jesus to come. Not approximate, not

  617. close enough, not almost the right time,

  618. the precise moment. And man, we talked

  619. about this Friday that uh this

  620. crucifixion and resurrection wasn't

  621. God's plan B. It wasn't God doing damage

  622. control for the devil. Before Rome ever

  623. forged a nail, before they ever took

  624. trees and shaped it into a cross, before

  625. the tomb was ever carved out of the

  626. rock, before Pilate ever showed up, God

  627. had already circled that Sunday on his

  628. calendar for his son to remove the sins

  629. of the world.

  630. I think there's some in this room that

  631. God has circled this Sunday on your

  632. calendar

  633. to remove your sins and redeem you that

  634. your name might be written down in the

  635. lamb's book of life and that when you

  636. cross over just like that thief on the

  637. cross, we get to enter in with him

  638. forever.

  639. Amen.

  640. I don't want you to miss the why behind

  641. the what

  642. the fullness of time had come. What's

  643. what's the reason why Jesus did all of

  644. this at that moment?

  645. He didn't just come to rescue you. He

  646. came to adopt you.

  647. It says so that we might receive

  648. adoption

  649. as sons.

  650. We see a very similar

  651. scripture in Romans chapter 8.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  652. receiving the spirit of adoption. Let me

  653. put this in context for you.

  654. Paul isn't talking about our modern

  655. version of adoption.

  656. We have the idea of infant adoption,

  657. young child adoption. Uh Roman law was

  658. of adoption was for adults

  659. 13 and older.

  660. Teenagers don't get any ideas. In that

  661. culture 13 was grown.

  662. Our culture is a little different.

  663. There were some laws around it.

  664. Roman law said that the adopted son's

  665. old family and old debts were dismissed

  666. and cut off from the adoptee.

  667. That whatever debts your father had, you

  668. didn't carry on. When you were adopted

  669. into the new family, you owed nothing.

  670. He stepped in fully under his new

  671. father's name,

  672. authority and inheritance.

  673. The moment that we trust in the risen

  674. Jesus, our old debts are gone.

  675. Your new father's name is on you.

  676. The cross paid your debt. The

  677. resurrection gave you his last name.

  678. Also in Roman law,

  679. very bizarre. They had this idea in Rome

  680. at the time that you can't choose your

  681. family. Sometimes we live with that,

  682. right? Go to the family reunion, you're

  683. like, "Uncle so and so's at it again."

  684. Can't pick your family. They had this

  685. really strong idea in Rome at that time

  686. that you can't choose your family. So

  687. Roman law said that a father, a

  688. biological father could disown his own

  689. biological son if the son didn't meet

  690. the standards of the father.

  691. somewhat of a common practice of the

  692. day. But Roman law also said that the

  693. adopted son that was now put into the

  694. family could never be disowned

  695. because you chose him. Isn't that

  696. interesting? Do you know that when

  697. you're adopted in as a son of God,

  698. you can never be disowned? You can never

  699. be removed.

  700. Romans 8:37 says this,

    Romans 8:37

  701. "Know in all these things we are more

  702. than conquerors." Man, that's a good

  703. word right there.

  704. More than conquerors through him who

  705. loved us. For I am sure that neither

  706. death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,

  707. nor things present, nor things to come,

  708. nor powers, nor height, nor death, nor

  709. anything else in all creation will be

  710. able to separate us from the love of God

  711. in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  712. I want to get personal for a minute.

  713. Some of you think you came to celebrate

  714. the holiday Easter today.

  715. Might have came for the music. Man,

  716. Pastor Mark worship team has some good

  717. music.

  718. Some of you came just because grandma

  719. made you

  720. came because it's tradition. We do this

  721. every year around this time. And I love

  722. that you're here.

  723. But I need you to understand something.

  724. You're here today because God circled

  725. this Sunday on your calendar.

  726. His greatest desire for you is not that

  727. you would become more religious. His

  728. greatest desire is that you would be a

  729. son or a daughter of God. That you would

  730. be adopted. Salvation is not praying a

  731. prayer. Salvation is a legal spiritual

  732. adoption from heaven.

  733. It's forsaking all of the other things.

  734. is forsaking the old fleshly worldly

  735. name

  736. inheritance because in that camp our

  737. inheritance is eternal death. It's

  738. leaving all of that behind and accepting

  739. Christ in such a way that we receive the

  740. new name, the new authority

  741. and the new inheritance. It's from

  742. orphan to son,

  743. from outsider

  744. to family.

  745. Look at your neighbor and say, "Now is

  746. the time."

  747. Christ came. It was the fullness of

  748. time. God-appointed, God ordained moment

  749. in history,

  750. resurrection of Christ. As far as

  751. history is concerned, everything hangs

  752. on that moment.

  753. Everything in all of history hangs on

  754. that moment.

  755. I believe this that every moment in your

  756. life

  757. hangs on the decision of making Jesus

  758. Christ savior. I believe it hangs on

  759. that moment of receiving the fullness of

  760. the resurrection power of Christ. Your

  761. marriage hangs on it. Your mental health

  762. hangs on it. That thing that you've been

  763. carrying,

  764. that you brought right in here that

  765. nobody else knows about

  766. hangs on it.

  767. Paul said, "If Christ has not been

  768. raised, your faith is futile."

  769. Let me flip that for you. If Christ has

  770. been raised, your faith is not futile.

  771. It has power. Number three in your

  772. notes. This moment changes your life.

  773. This moment changes your life. You can

  774. believe that he rose from the dead and

  775. still be living like he didn't.

  776. You can celebrate on Easter the

  777. resurrection

  778. and never experience the resurrection in

  779. your own life.

  780. Believing that the resurrection happened

  781. and living in resurrection life are two

  782. completely different things.

  783. Do you know that the power of God is

  784. available for you?

  785. Romans 6:11, Paul said this. He said,

    Romans 6:11

  786. "So you must so you also must consider

  787. yourselves

  788. dead to sin and alive to God in Christ

  789. Jesus."

  790. So we consider ourselves dead to sin.

  791. But there's a second piece of that. We

  792. consider ourselves resurrected with him,

  793. raised with him.

  794. That's not a feeling that you wait for.

  795. That's a faith move that you make that

  796. you decide.

  797. So, you've been waiting for a feeling

  798. to move you toward God.

  799. God is waiting for your decision so he

  800. can move toward you.

  801. Resurrection

  802. of Jesus Christ is the most important

  803. moment in human history.

  804. But the most important moment in your

  805. history is choosing to receive him as

  806. savior.

  807. Before the resurrection, death had

  808. dominion.

  809. After the resurrection,

  810. death was declined.

  811. The devil comes knocking on your door

  812. with death.

  813. We look at the devil and say, "Dec

  814. serve an amazing God."

  815. Anyone in here, Ben? Most most of you

  816. have

  817. been to a place that has long lines like

  818. Disney or Cedar Point or DMV.

  819. I want you to picture with me a scenario

  820. like that.

  821. You have your little ticket and you're

  822. waiting in your line and the line's long

  823. and

  824. finally line keeps moving up and keeps

  825. moving up.

  826. Finally, your opportunity to get into

  827. this thing that you're excited about.

  828. The man takes the ticket and looks at it

  829. and says, "Whoop! This is the wrong

  830. ticket.

  831. You have to go over there."

  832. You know, there's so many that are going

  833. to be crossing from this life into the

  834. next. And we have this anticipation

  835. because we did good and and man, we we

  836. were okay at this and we weren't that

  837. bad. We weren't as bad as that guy. We

  838. have this anticipation that that when we

  839. die, I've been to a ton of funerals.

  840. Everyone thinks they're going to heaven.

  841. But there's going to be this moment when

  842. we're standing at the gate and you

  843. either have your ticket or you don't.

  844. And what I never want to happen is for

  845. you to think you have your ticket

  846. to make it up there for someone to look

  847. at that ticket and say, "Uh-uh, it's the

  848. wrong ticket.

  849. Good works doesn't get you in.

  850. Nice guy doesn't get you in.

  851. You have to go that way.

  852. You can see all the splendor and all the

  853. glory of heaven on the other side. those

  854. loved ones that have passed on before

  855. you and you have to about face and go

  856. the other way because you have the wrong

  857. ticket. I don't want you to miss heaven

  858. today, saints.

  859. God spoke to me very clear. Somebody has

  860. this Sunday circled on your calendar to

  861. give your life to Jesus Christ.

  862. Let's stand to our feet all over this

  863. house. I'm going to ask the worship team

  864. to join me up here.

  865. John 5:24 Jesus said, "Whoever hears my

    John 5:24

  866. word and believes him who sent me

  867. has passed from death to life."

  868. Would you pray with me? Father, we thank

  869. you, God.

  870. We thank you, Lord. Father, we know that

  871. this life is very short, very brief.

  872. That tomorrow isn't promised to us.

  873. Father, we know that this life is but a

  874. midst or a vapor in the eyes of

  875. eternity.

  876. And Father, I pray now over every soul

  877. in this room, God.

  878. Salvation, deliverance, and healing to

  879. be theirs now in Jesus name. Father, I

  880. thank you that you've called us for such

  881. a time as this.

  882. Thank you for freedom.

  883. Thank you for power.

  884. thankful that we're no longer under the

  885. clutches of sin.

  886. Saints, could you just begin to say

  887. thank you to your Jesus?

  888. Thank you, Jesus.

  889. Thank you that you're a risen savior.

  890. Thank you, God, for pulling me out of

  891. that mess. Thank you, God, for the life

  892. that you've given me today. I say,

  893. "Thank you, Father.

  894. Praise you, Jesus.

  895. Thank you, Lord. Father, we honor you

  896. today.

  897. We're going to continue with eyes closed

  898. and heads bowed. If you're in this house

  899. and you're the one that God has been

  900. speaking to today

  901. and you know that today is the day for

  902. you to surrender your life to his

  903. lordship, to confess that Jesus is Lord,

  904. to lay down the past and walk in newness

  905. of life. If that's you today, I'm not

  906. going to embarrass you. I'm not going to

  907. call you up front.

  908. I'm going to ask you to simply raise

  909. your hand and say, "Pastor, pray for me.

  910. Thank you.

  911. Thank you." There's hands going up all

  912. over this room.

  913. And I don't want you to miss this

  914. moment. And I want you to leave here

  915. with regret.

  916. There's others in this room. Raise your

  917. hand now. Say, "Pastor, pray for me.

  918. Thank you.

  919. Thank you." Wow.

  920. Wow.

  921. Praise you, Jesus. You can slip your

  922. hand down.

  923. Father, I thank you for those that took

  924. a step of faith and raised their hand.

  925. Father, I thank you, Lord, for those

  926. that you're speaking, ministering grace

  927. under their spirit right now.

  928. Father, I thank you for the authority

  929. you've given me through the blood of

  930. Jesus Christ. Father, that nothing would

  931. hinder divine, authentic, born again

  932. experience for every hand that was

  933. lifted in this space.

  934. Lord, we're thankful even now as the

  935. band of angels prepares themselves to

  936. rejoice over a sinner coming home.

  937. Praise you, Jesus.

  938. In just a minute, we're all going to get

  939. saved again because we're all going to

  940. pray a simple salvation prayer together.

  941. And if you raised your hand and you

  942. really believe it in your heart today

  943. when you pray this prayer,

  944. you're being saved by Jesus.

  945. The Holy Spirit will fill your your

  946. heart and your mind

  947. and your life will be new.

  948. Saints, could we all in this room pray

  949. this prayer together? Would you follow

  950. me and say this? Say, "Father in heaven,

  951. >> Father,

  952. >> I'm a mess. I'm a mess.

  953. >> I confess

  954. I'm a sinner.

  955. >> I fall short.

  956. >> I'm thankful

  957. >> for the blood of Jesus.

  958. >> Today,

  959. >> I make Jesus Lord of my life. Lord of my

  960. life. I take the payment of the cross

  961. >> for my sins. And when I die,

  962. >> I get to be with you.

  963. >> So, Father,

  964. >> receive me now.

  965. >> Receive me

  966. >> as your son

  967. >> by legal adoption

  968. >> in the spiritual realm.

  969. >> In Jesus name. In

  970. >> Jesus name.

  971. >> Amen. We celebrate the work of the Lord

  972. today.

  973. Praise the Lord. Just after this

  974. service, our prayer team is going to be

  975. down front here. If you need prayer for

  976. anything on this resurrection Sunday, I

  977. want to encourage you to come forward

  978. and let us pray with you. If you prayed

  979. that prayer today, I want to say,

  980. "Welcome to the family of God." Amen.

  981. Can we celebrate those that prayed that

  982. prayer?

  983. Praise the Lord.
