  1. Heat. Heat.

  2. Oh my goodness. Grace Summit Church,

  3. how's everybody feeling today?

  4. Hallelujah. Man, you guys are you guys

  5. are awake today. Are you ready for

  6. Jesus?

  7. >> Praise the Lord. Well, hey, uh if you're

  8. a first- time guest with us, my name is

  9. Ben. I have the opportunity to serve as

  10. lead pastor here at Grace Summit Church,

  11. but man, I'm not preaching today.

  12. >> That was I I didn't I don't know. Let me

  13. Let's try it again. I'm not preaching

  14. today.

  15. >> A There it is. It ain't about me. It's

  16. about Jesus.

  17. But hey, for those of you that don't

  18. know, um, Grace Summit Church is

  19. connected to a larger family of churches

  20. called Link. And, uh, we have one of our

  21. Link pastors here with us. He's actually

  22. a board member for Link. And, uh,

  23. excited to hear what God, uh, is going

  24. to communicate through him. And, and

  25. man, you guys like my t-shirt? Check

  26. this out. Right here. Look.

  27. Okay. So, our whole leadership team was

  28. at another link church. We were in

  29. Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday, Friday,

  30. Saturday, and uh at Pastor Jared's

  31. church. Some of you might remember Jared

  32. uh when he spoke here not that long ago.

  33. And uh man, it was powerful. Uh Holy

  34. Spirit was moving, people getting

  35. freedom and and just just some good

  36. stuff. And today uh we've got Link

  37. coming to us from Big Rapids, Michigan.

  38. And uh Pastor Ross Shear is here. Could

  39. you guys help me celebrate Pastor Ross

  40. as he comes?

  41. Right.

  42. Thank you. Thank you. I uh I told Ben uh

  43. this one might be like first service. It

  44. might not. I might surprise you. No, I

  45. plan Hey, it's great to be with you

  46. guys. Um it I I always talk about our

  47. church as a family and I when I get to

  48. travel and come do something like this,

  49. I just say I get to be with uh my family

  50. in a different house, right? because

  51. we're all part of God's family. Amen.

  52. And uh and so my name's Ross. I'm a

  53. pastor uh in Big Rapids, Michigan. Most

  54. people know that uh that city. If they

  55. know that city, it's because of Fris

  56. State University is there. F State is

  57. national champions in football, D2 four

  58. out of the last five years. U a lot of

  59. people know I I don't know why I'm

  60. telling you this, but I might as well.

  61. Um that uh that a lot of people follow

  62. college football remember quarterback

  63. last year for Old Miss, Chambless. He

  64. like came out of nowhere and became a

  65. superstar. He was our quarterback first.

  66. Won the national championship with us.

  67. Got notice went there. Uh we have a lot

  68. of pro players that come out of our our

  69. uh our school. Anyway, um so we get the

  70. opportunity to serve uh our community

  71. there. It's interesting. Our city is

  72. unique. I again I don't know I'm telling

  73. you this, but I don't have a time

  74. restraint. This is second service and I

  75. like to do this in my church too. Um is

  76. we our so our population of our city

  77. 7,000 people. So it's not not big. um

  78. population of the college when they're

  79. in session in person is 8,000 people. So

  80. we are actually uh have more college

  81. students in town than we have residents

  82. of our town. Um God has done incredible

  83. things. Um counting with the college

  84. students in involved, you know,

  85. population of our city, our church, we

  86. have uh 15% of our city comes to our

  87. church. Um so we have we have a very

  88. large church in a very small area. God's

  89. done incredible things and we have this

  90. opportunity to to sew into the lives

  91. that we consider our college students

  92. missionaries because we get the

  93. opportunity to teach them about Jesus,

  94. help them grow in their faith and then

  95. we pray over them that they would go out

  96. and be missionaries in the new cities

  97. they go to when they graduate. So, a

  98. transient city. A lot of people come for

  99. for school and a lot of not just

  100. students but untraditional students,

  101. families move to our city because of

  102. school and then they move on and so it's

  103. an opportunity we get. So, we love that.

  104. We love our city. We love what God is

  105. doing. But I also really love coming and

  106. getting to share with other churches and

  107. and see the, you know, the house of the,

  108. you know, I've known Ben uh and his wife

  109. and for a little while here and getting

  110. to come and see all of you is is it's

  111. exciting for me. I love it. I'm I'm a

  112. talker and so if you come up to me after

  113. service, we're going to be stuck for a

  114. while and I think we have lunch

  115. reservations, so don't go too long. You

  116. know, I'm I'm getting hungry. Uh but

  117. I've been a pastor there uh for 13

  118. years, but I've been in ministry since I

  119. was a fetus. Um, and so my dad was a

  120. pastor. I grew up in church my whole

  121. life. Uh, I was a worship leader uh

  122. before I was a pastor and and so I've

  123. been in ministry doing ministry stuff

  124. for a long time. But I I'll be honest

  125. with you, I never wanted to be a pastor.

  126. Always said no. My whole life I I was

  127. told, you know, I was always and you

  128. you'll hear why today, but I was always

  129. told as a young kid, I was always told,

  130. you know, by every guest that would come

  131. to my dad's church, "This boy has a call

  132. of God on his life." And I'd be like,

  133. "Whatever. Come on." Like, like, and

  134. this is horrible. But I grew up in as a

  135. pastor's kid, so I'm jaded, right? And I

  136. was like, "This guy just wants a bigger

  137. check."

  138. Can I say that? Is that okay to say?

  139. Like, like, he's just buttering my dad

  140. up, telling his, "Oh, he said my son's

  141. anointed. Like, let's, you know, add

  142. some to the offering at the end." Like,

  143. uh, but anyway, I grew up thinking that,

  144. like, you know, why would they say that

  145. to me? You know, there was a reason.

  146. I'll tell you the reason today. Um,

  147. but I didn't want it. I didn't want to

  148. be a pastor. I actually thought if I

  149. could just play my guitar and sing and

  150. be a worship leader that I could have

  151. the title of pastor, but I don't want to

  152. actually be the pastor.

  153. Um, I've been doing it for 13 years and

  154. it's greatest joy of my life. It's I I

  155. love it. I live it. I It's It's

  156. I just love it. Um,

  157. you know, I think I wanted

  158. God to do something great with my life.

  159. I we all that we all want God to do

  160. something great with our life, right?

  161. Like, so they would say that to me and

  162. I'd be like, "Whatever, dude." And then

  163. deep down it's like, "Well, okay. I

  164. mean, that would be it would be cool if

  165. God did something with my life." Um,

  166. that's what I want to talk about today

  167. really is I believe that God wants to do

  168. something great through your life for

  169. his kingdom, for his glory.

  170. >> I believe I I say it every Sunday. I

  171. want to say it at the end of the service

  172. today that God has a purpose and a plan

  173. for your life and you can't you it's

  174. people try to do it on their own and

  175. they're left empty, right? But I believe

  176. that God wants to fill your life with

  177. his goodness. And he wants to produce

  178. things in your life that for his glory

  179. that are going to be incredible. That

  180. you would look back on your life at the

  181. end of your life and go, "Wow, look at

  182. what God did." Right? That's what I want

  183. to talk about today. Let's bow our

  184. heads. Let's pray. Just prepare for the

  185. word. Father, thank you so much for

  186. today. Thank you that for the honor of

  187. being able to be here and share with

  188. with my family here. God, I just pray

  189. that uh that as you help me navigate

  190. what I've got in my notes, that it's not

  191. about my notes. It's about what you want

  192. to say today. God, I pray that my

  193. stories and the things that I talk about

  194. that you just filter those out of our

  195. minds by the end of today. And what

  196. would stick to our hearts is your word,

  197. the truth of your word, and that that's

  198. what we would live by and we would trust

  199. you because of your word and because of

  200. what what you're going to do and what

  201. you're doing in our lives. So God, just

  202. give us ears that hear you speaking and

  203. hearts that understand what you're

  204. saying to us. God, give us minds that

  205. desire to live out the instruction we

  206. find in your word today in Jesus name.

  207. Amen. Amen. All right. So, I'm going to

  208. go right to the word. Well, pretty quick

  209. here. I'm going to go to the word. So,

  210. if you've got your Bible with you, get

  211. it out and start turning to Ephesians

  212. chap 20. Um I'm obsessed uh with my with

  213. Bibles, not just cuz I'm a pastor. Um

  214. but I I I think it's important that

  215. every person has a Bible. Everywhere I

  216. go, I say this. Um and and if I ever

  217. come back here, I'm going to say it

  218. again because I think it's important.

  219. You need a Bible. Turn to your neighbor.

  220. Say, "You need a Bible."

  221. >> Like a real Bible, not your phone. You

  222. can use your phone today because you

  223. weren't expecting me to say this, but uh

  224. but a phone is not good enough. The

  225. Bible app is not sufficient. You need a

  226. Bible. This is an approved reading

  227. device in this building. You can use

  228. this. Okay? Um I my name is Ross and I

  229. approve this message. All right? Like

  230. Like listen,

  231. the B the word of God says that a good

  232. man leaves a good inheritance for his

  233. children. And this is what I'm so hung

  234. up on. I don't believe that's talking

  235. just about money, right? You can't serve

  236. both God and Mammon or money, right?

  237. It's not about money. It's about a

  238. spiritual inheritance. I think that

  239. happens in the life you live with your

  240. children or those that you mentor. But

  241. what an incredible inheritance to have

  242. if you had a Bible,

  243. a real Bible, and every time that you

  244. get into it and God speaks to you, you

  245. highlighted or wrote in it what God was

  246. speaking to you, and someday you handed

  247. it to your children. or if you don't

  248. have children to somebody that you

  249. mentored, you're passing on an

  250. inheritance of the things the Holy

  251. Spirit has spoken to you over years. You

  252. can't give them your Bible app,

  253. but you can give them Bible. This I'm I

  254. I wore out my first one with all my

  255. notes and things in it, and I'm working

  256. on number two. I got five kids. I got

  257. some work to do.

  258. And four of them are here today with my

  259. wife. And I love having them here.

  260. They've heard me teach this message

  261. already today. And they corrected me in

  262. between service so that I would get

  263. things right. So that's why I keep them

  264. with me. So Ephesians, no Ephesians

    Ephesians 3:20

  265. 3:20. We're going to go there. And uh

  266. this is a scripture you'll know actually

  267. so funny because this bumper video that

  268. they had I first service I was like

  269. what? That's my scripture, right? What's

  270. the Lord's? Uh so we're going to go

  271. verse 20. It says this. Now to him who

  272. is able to do immeasurably more than all

  273. we ask or imagine according to his what?

  274. Power that is at work within us. This is

  275. stuff. This is Paul the apostle writing

  276. to us that he wants us to experience

  277. God's power. Everybody say power.

  278. >> Power.

  279. >> All right. He wants to do it through

  280. who? It says within

  281. >> us. He wants He wants his power to work

  282. through you and he wants to do things

  283. that will blow your mind. Let me tell

  284. you a story.

  285. when I was a little boy. When I was a

  286. young wartthog, I saw The Lion King

  287. yesterday on Broadway. Just popped into

  288. my mind. Squirrel. Uh anyway, so a

  289. couple things you need to know about me.

  290. I do that. Uh and the other thing is I

  291. love response. So if I ask you to say

  292. something or do something, say it loudly

  293. or I'm going to make you do it again and

  294. again until I feel like it's sufficient.

  295. Okay. Um when when I was a when I was a

  296. little boy, when I was nine months old,

  297. my like I said, my mom and dad uh my dad

  298. was the pastor of our church, lead

  299. pastor, and of course, my mom was

  300. leading there, too, with him. And they

  301. were visiting a family uh that lived out

  302. in the wilderness. Now, I haven't

  303. traveled around here to see like how

  304. close you are to actual wilderness. All

  305. right? But I grew up in northern

  306. Michigan about an hour from the Meno

  307. Bridge. Some people know the city of

  308. Gaylord. I grew up in Gaylord my whole

  309. life. Um and so did my wife. Anyway,

  310. there there's huge areas of national

  311. forest like like hundreds of thousands

  312. of acres. Okay. And so, uh, so, uh, this

  313. family lived about 20 minutes out into

  314. the the the woods, um, into the national

  315. forest area. There were some communities

  316. out there. They lived there. My parents

  317. went to visit them, have dinner with

  318. them, and they brought me. I was nine

  319. months old, and they had dinner, and

  320. then, uh, it was my bedtime. They didn't

  321. have a pack and play, and or, you know,

  322. I don't even know if there were pack and

  323. plays back then. I don't know. Anyway,

  324. they didn't have a crib and so they put

  325. me on the bed and they put like towels

  326. and coats and stuff around me so I

  327. wouldn't roll off the bed and that's

  328. pretty normal practice. Um, so the night

  329. went on and they were fellowshipping

  330. with this family and and it was like two

  331. hours later and my mom just had this

  332. feeling I need to go check on the baby.

  333. So she gets up and she goes into the

  334. room to look and and see, you know, how

  335. I was doing. When she gets in there, I'm

  336. not on the bed. And of course this is

  337. terrifying, right? Um, and so she goes

  338. in and when she finds me, I had the bed

  339. was pushed up tight against the wall and

  340. I had somehow rolled over and wedged

  341. myself between the bed and the wall and

  342. I had suffocated to death.

  343. You're like, "What? That doesn't make

  344. sense. You're standing right in front of

  345. me." So, I was blue. I had already

  346. vomited and expelled myself for for full

  347. muscle release of death.

  348. She starts screaming. She pulls me out

  349. and she starts doing CPR. She yells,

  350. "Call 911." 911 is 20 minutes away.

  351. Dispatch is 20 minutes away. So there,

  352. you know, they're on route. My mom is

  353. doing CPR. My dad's praying that there's

  354. no cell phones back then. So they're

  355. they're calling all of the church

  356. members that they could get a hold of on

  357. landlines and saying, "You need to pray.

  358. We think Ross has had the worst thing

  359. happen and he's going to be gone and we

  360. need to pray that God can bring him back

  361. to life." And uh and that's a pretty big

  362. prayer.

  363. And so 20 minutes later, EMS comes in

  364. and they see my mom and she's doing CPR

  365. on me. Now, you know, CPR has changed

  366. over the years, right? It used to be

  367. that you'd breathe and then you do the

  368. compressions, you breathe and and so

  369. they come in, they go, "What are you

  370. doing?" And she's like, "I'm doing CPR."

  371. And they so they said, "Stop. Look at

  372. his stomach. It's all distended. You

  373. blew way too much air into his little

  374. lungs and you blew him up into little

  375. pieces. There's nothing we can do.

  376. There's no way we can res resuscitate

  377. him."

  378. And of course, this crushes my mom. And

  379. they said, 'We need to take him right

  380. now. They picked me up and as they're

  381. going out of the room, my dad kind of

  382. pushes his way past him. And he said, he

  383. put his hand hand on my head and he

  384. said, "In in the name of Jesus, we

  385. command that life come back into Ross

  386. and that when it does, he has no brain

  387. deficits or anything like that, that he

  388. grows up totally fine." And they said,

  389. "Sir, you need to let us go right now.

  390. We have to get him to the hospital."

  391. Said, "Put me in the ambulance."

  392. They drive to the hospital. My parents,

  393. I don't know why. Um my I was talking

  394. with my dad about it. Um but they they

  395. didn't like let anybody ride in the

  396. ambulance. So they had to ride in the

  397. car after and follow him. And they get

  398. to the hospital and they wheel me in and

  399. I'm just dead on the gurnie. They

  400. haven't done anything. They said on

  401. route they said he he was averaging uh

  402. in the first 10 minutes about one

  403. heartbeat a minute. But they believe

  404. that was just electrical response of

  405. like reflexes which is normal, right?

  406. One a minute. No breathing. And the

  407. doctor says there's nothing I can

  408. nothing we can do. He's gone. And they

  409. had called me in debt on arrival. Um,

  410. and

  411. you know, every church has that that

  412. lady who's like the loud, you know, I'm

  413. not going to take no for an answer kind

  414. of lady. Our our lady's name was Sally

  415. Anne. And she ran across the room. My

  416. dad says he grabbed the doctor by his

  417. collar and pushed HIM AGAINST WHAT?

  418. WE'RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU HAVE

  419. TO SAY. GOD IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THIS.

  420. AND THE GUY'S LIKE, "WHOA, LADY." You

  421. know, and and my dad's like, "I'm not

  422. going to believe what you say. I need a

  423. second opinion." He goes, "Well, the

  424. nearest children's, you know, pediatric

  425. unit is is 40 minutes away. We can put

  426. them in an ambulance and drive them

  427. there." And uh and if you want to pay

  428. for it, my dad's like, "Let's go." And

  429. so they did and uh they drove uh the 40

  430. minutes uh there and my parents actually

  431. went past them because they went no

  432. lights or sirens. Um, and my parents

  433. were in the emergency room entrance as

  434. the ambulance pulled in and the doors

  435. open and they open the back of the

  436. ambulance and they heard a baby crying

  437. and they wheel me in and I'm crying and

  438. the the EMS workers go. Well, he didn't

  439. touch it. We just got a couple miles

  440. from the hospital here and he started

  441. crying. And of course, my parents are

  442. like, "Praise the Lord. Oh my goodness."

  443. you know, and and that everybody's

  444. celebrating that I'm alive, and the

  445. doctor says, "No, you don't understand.

  446. This is not something to celebrate." He

  447. hasn't had oxygen to his brain for an

  448. hour. We figure an hour and 45 minutes.

  449. He will be in he he he will be

  450. incapacitated his entire life. He'll

  451. never know who you are. He'll never see.

  452. He'll never talk. You will take care of

  453. him in a vegetative state for the rest

  454. of your life. And when you die, he will

  455. go to a home where he will die. And my

  456. dad's like, "So, when can we take him

  457. home?" Right? My dad's like, "Whatever."

  458. So, I ended up in the hospital for

  459. another two days. They observed me and

  460. my dad and mom took me home and they

  461. just watched. And they watched as I grew

  462. up. And my dad says, "That's why I'm

  463. just a little bit off today." And so, he

  464. does. He loves to rub that in. But, uh,

  465. but literally

  466. that. So, of course, every new person,

  467. new guest that would come to my dad's

  468. church, they'd have to tell the story,

  469. right? By the way, I have the medical

  470. records in my safe at home. Like, I've

  471. told my story on TBN, the Bible network.

  472. I' I like it's I've had the opportunity

  473. to share it number of different times.

  474. And when I go to a church for the first

  475. time, I'd like to share that story, work

  476. it in somehow in what I'm going to talk

  477. about. But just because um it's an

  478. incredible story, right?

  479. And I would say that, you know, because

  480. of that story in my life, um, my whole

  481. life I've said I there's no way I could

  482. ever deny that there is a God, that he

  483. that he's real, you know, and and I over

  484. the years I wanted to make sure I got

  485. the details right and all of that stuff

  486. and having them just a couple years ago

  487. my mom's like, you know, we have the

  488. doctor's records. I was like, could I

  489. have them? Like please, you know, u

  490. because that that to be able to say here

  491. it is, right? This is this is the line

  492. by line of what happened. Um is is

  493. powerful. So you know I would say that

  494. I'd say you know

  495. anytime somebody would question whether

  496. God was real like I can't deny it. He's

  497. real and I believe that.

  498. >> Amen.

  499. >> You know until I wasn't sure

  500. until I got to a point in my life where

  501. I wasn't I let me just say this. I never

  502. I don't think I've ever been in a place

  503. in my life where I thought God didn't

  504. exist. But I've been in a place in my

  505. life where I wondered if he knew I

  506. existed. Anybody ever feel that? Right.

  507. Like you, you know, cool God, you're

  508. there. And and people people go, "How

  509. could you even say that?" Like your

  510. story, it's incredible. Let me just say

  511. this. It's not my story. It's my mom and

  512. dad's story.

  513. I was nine months old. I don't remember

  514. any of it. I I I know that story because

  515. I've been told it because I have

  516. records, you know, that I can look at

  517. and see it. But but it's not my story.

  518. It's my dad and mom's story of faith,

  519. right? It's incredible for them, right?

  520. But for me, it it it's tough. My I don't

  521. remember anything. My dad's always like,

  522. "Come on, Ross. Did you see Jesus? Like,

  523. did you have an experience like that?

  524. They made a movie about another kid who

  525. did that. We could get a movie deal."

  526. And I'm like, "Dad, listen. No, I

  527. didn't. I don't remember any of it. I

  528. none of it. I only know that what you've

  529. told me and and the records and all that

  530. stuff." And he's like, "Fine." You know,

  531. whatever. Um,

  532. but but you know, I didn't get to a

  533. place where I didn't believe that there

  534. was a God. But I did get to a place in

  535. my life where I wondered I wondered if

  536. this whole Christianity family of God,

  537. experiencing God, does he really see me?

  538. Do I really matter? Do I really have a

  539. purpose? I got to that. I I started

  540. asking those questions. If you're in

  541. that place today, that's okay. I say it

  542. at our church all the time. If you've

  543. never questioned, if you've never

  544. wondered that, how do you know? Right? I

  545. want to talk today about how you know.

  546. I want to talk about how you know,

  547. right? The truth is I don't just want

  548. you to know.

  549. The Apostle Paul wanted you to know. In

  550. fact, this scripture that we're talking

  551. about, this immeasurably more scripture.

  552. It starts out by Paul telling us, I want

  553. you to know, like really know the power

  554. of God in your life. So, let's go to the

  555. word. If you've got your Bible or your

  556. app with you, you can you can use that

  557. today, I guess. Okay. Um verse 14 is

  558. where he starts out this whole talk.

  559. Okay. I mean, it's not the first it's

  560. not verse one, but verse 14 is where he

  561. gets into the subject. And he says this,

  562. "For this reason I kneel before the

  563. father from whom every family in heaven

  564. on earth derives its name." He's opening

  565. up by saying, "This is why I'm praying

  566. for you." Okay, he let me give you a

  567. reason why I pray for you. Verse 16. I

  568. pray that out of his glorious riches, he

  569. may strengthen you with what? Power

  570. through his spirit in your inner being,

  571. so that Christ may dwell in your hearts

  572. through faith. And I pray that you being

  573. rooted and established in love may have

  574. what? Power to grasp how wide and how

  575. long and how high and how deep is the

  576. love of Christ. He This is what he's

  577. saying. I want you to experience the

  578. power of God in your life. I want you to

  579. experience it in such a way that you

  580. understand just how big he is.

  581. Right? That's what he's trying. That's

  582. what that's what Paul's saying to you.

  583. Okay? Verse 19, it says this. And to

  584. know this love that surpasses knowledge

  585. that you may be filled to the measure of

  586. all the fullness of God. How many want

  587. to be filled with the full measure? All

  588. right. Like I think about this. I was

  589. drinking coffee earlier today. My son, I

  590. asked my son to get me coffee. He filled

  591. it right to the edge. This is actually

  592. after last service. So now I can

  593. actually tell this story. It happened to

  594. me. Is you've never really experienced

  595. coffee until you've spilled it on

  596. yourself, right? Like like when it talks

  597. about full measure. I I think it's

  598. talking like brimming to the lid where

  599. anytime you move it just a little bit,

  600. it's going to spill out. You know, if

  601. you if you go to a restaurant, we went

  602. to a restaurant with the kids last night

  603. out out to eat. This didn't happen last

  604. night, but it's happened way too many

  605. times. You, your kid gets a full Pepsi

  606. and then elbows that drink, you're going

  607. to experience Pepsi like you've never

  608. experienced before. You are going to get

  609. the full measure of Pepsi. Right? I

  610. think when we're talking about the full

  611. measure of the power of God, it's not

  612. just fill my cup, Lord. It's fill it to

  613. overflow. There's scripture. There's a

  614. scripture that says that, right? Fill it

  615. to overflowing. Right? And Paul here,

  616. his desire is not that we would just

  617. look at Paul and go, "Wow, look at how

  618. God worked in Paul's life."

  619. Paul's saying, "I want you to experience

  620. the same fullness I experience.

  621. How deep and how wide,

  622. how great God's love is." And in his

  623. words, it says, "The way that we'll

  624. experience that is by experiencing his

  625. power." Everybody say, "Power."

  626. >> All right. Um, how do we get to a place

  627. where we experience the full measure?

  628. Okay, I want to talk about that. Is it

  629. for me? Is it by my parents telling me,

  630. "Hey, by the way, this happened. You

  631. need to trust God." So many people have

  632. left the church because their parents

  633. said they needed to follow God.

  634. And yet they watched their parents not

  635. follow God.

  636. So many people refused to ever go to

  637. church again because they had to go to

  638. church every Sunday with their parents,

  639. but their parents left their their Jesus

  640. at the door when they got home. Right?

  641. That's not the fullness of God.

  642. Attending church on Sunday is not the

  643. fullness of God. The fullness of God is

  644. experiencing the power of God in your

  645. everyday life every day.

  646. >> Okay? That that's that's the full

  647. measure. Okay? But you know, we live in

  648. a world where seeing is believing.

  649. Anybody, you know, hear that statement,

  650. seeing is believing. Like, and and you

  651. know, I think that people go, "Well, you

  652. got to have faith. It's not about

  653. seeing." No, I think we can ask God to

  654. show up, right? I mean, as you do know,

  655. this is filled with promises, right?

  656. and that it says that he there in the in

  657. here it says that there's no shadow of

  658. him turning from his promises which

  659. means there's not even a hint that he

  660. might be like nah right like so it's

  661. he's going to fulfill them but and so I

  662. don't think it's wrong to say seeing is

  663. believing but it does take a a little

  664. bit of faith to start out with um I'll

  665. give you an example um anybody in this

  666. room ever heard of Bitcoin

  667. okay unless you live under a rock you

  668. know what Bitcoin is right Bitcoin is

  669. invisible money. Okay, which is easier

  670. to comprehend now with debit cards and

  671. credit cards and stuff like that. Except

  672. for credit cards is money you now owe

  673. and owe and owe and owe, right? It's a

  674. gift that keeps on giving. Um, but

  675. Bitcoin, uh, I remember when Bitcoin was

  676. first the thing is like it's right

  677. around 2009. Um, I remember driving in

  678. the car. I was listening to something on

  679. the radio. Yes. Not Spotify, the radio.

  680. and and they were talking about this

  681. invisible money and that it's going to

  682. be the new thing and you could go in,

  683. you could buy coins that you can never

  684. actually hold in your hand or see. Um,

  685. and that those coins would be worth

  686. money in the future and that you could

  687. use them for all this stuff. And I'm

  688. like, what kind of crazy people would

  689. believe this crap? Sorry, I shouldn't

  690. say crap. I said idiot in the first

  691. service. I got yelled at by my wife. And

  692. so now I've said, if this is online, I'm

  693. really sorry. I'm not the normal pastor

  694. here.

  695. Uh, so I I I minister to college

  696. students. What can you say? Uh, but uh I

  697. remember it came out and I just thought

  698. it was crazy. Like a TW If you've ever

  699. bought crypto, you have to your wallet

  700. has to have a a a chain of words that

  701. you have to remember as your pass key.

  702. If you forget those words, you lose it.

  703. Gone. Right? Some of you are like, I

  704. only have one password I use for

  705. everything. You should change that, too.

  706. Um but uh but anyway, um in 2009,

  707. Bitcoin was $1 a coin. I looked it up

  708. this morning before I came to church.

  709. Today, one coin is worth $75,000.

  710. 75. uh in the spring uh because I I

  711. don't have Bitcoin, but I kind of

  712. watching it and I was remember working

  713. out in the gym and seeing it come up on

  714. the on the screen that it was at

  715. $110,000 a coin. But we'll use 75,000

  716. for today's uh example. Um if you'd have

  717. bought a hundred just a hundred coins in

  718. 2009, today you would have $7.5 million.

  719. Don't you wish you believed in something

  720. you couldn't see in 2009?

  721. Because if you did,

  722. it would have paid huge dividends today.

  723. See what I did there?

  724. If today you would choose to believe in

  725. something you can't see

  726. and you make a small investment,

  727. what could that investment turn into in

  728. your life in 20 years

  729. or in one year

  730. or in one month?

  731. Because listen, God's uh investment

  732. banking s uh scheme is better than

  733. anyone in the world can provide for you.

  734. It'll produce more in your life than

  735. anything else. But you got you got to

  736. you got to take that first step. Um I'm

  737. a big hunter. Um I come to your state to

  738. shoot your deer because in my in my

  739. state they're all small. Um and so I we

  740. go into my office and because it's like

  741. a trophy room uh because my wife won't

  742. let me put them up in my house and uh

  743. and I'm like like Illinois, Ohio,

  744. Indiana, all this all these places. So,

  745. if you have land, I'd love to come.

  746. It's just so good. I'm not joking. Um,

  747. but we I have a big group of guys. We

  748. all hunt. We all hunt all over the

  749. place. And, you know, inevitably deer

  750. season comes around and somebody te

  751. texts, you know, big buck down. And my

  752. response now is always picture or it

  753. didn't happen. Like, I got to see it or

  754. else because you know these guys,

  755. they'll shoot at one and then they'll

  756. say I got a big buck and turns out they

  757. go to they missed it, right? or they

  758. didn't find it or whatever. I'm like, so

  759. like if I before I even text big buck

  760. down, I take a selfie with it and I send

  761. the selfie with big buck down. Um, but

  762. uh but anyway, the picture or it didn't

  763. happen. I think it's okay to say to God,

  764. picture, show me. I want to experience

  765. it. Like, I'm going to I'm going to I'm

  766. going to try God. I'm going to I'm going

  767. to take a step

  768. and I want you to show up. I think it's

  769. okay to do that. Gideon did it. You

  770. remember that story? He put the fleece

  771. out on the ground and said, you know,

  772. God, make it all soaking and wet and the

  773. ground all around it dry the next day.

  774. And if if that works out, then I'll go

  775. do what you want me to do. Lead the

  776. army, you know, against this huge enemy.

  777. And God does it the next day. He's like,

  778. I don't know if that's good enough, God.

  779. I think I Let's do the opposite. You

  780. know, make make it so it's dry. And I

  781. might have got those out of order. I

  782. don't care. Uh you get the gist. But,

  783. you know, the next day he wants the

  784. opposite. Ground wet and the f the

  785. fleece dry. And God does it, you know.

  786. Picture it didn't happen. God, show up.

  787. God, I want you to show up. Ephesians

    Ephesians 3:20

  788. 3:20 is the next verse. We ended on 19.

  789. Now to him, we've read it already, who

  790. is able to do immeasurably more than all

  791. we ask or imagine, according to his

  792. power that is at work within who? Us,

  793. right? Meaning Paul is telling you God

  794. wants to do amazing works through your

  795. life.

  796. >> He wants to. Okay. So, um, fast forward

  797. in my life, I'm in this bit of crisis.

  798. I'm not sure. Like, I I believe there's

  799. a God. I'm a worship pastor and I'm

  800. having this feeling. So, no one is

  801. exempt,

  802. right?

  803. I'm leading I remember like it was

  804. yesterday. I'm like 20 years old. I'm

  805. leading a night of worship. Yes, I was a

  806. worship. Well, we'll call me worship

  807. leader at 20 at the church. And um I'm

  808. leading this night of worship and I'm up

  809. there now. I got I got to tell you this.

  810. I'm a skeptic. I grew up in my dad's

  811. church is very much Pentecostal, Holy

  812. Spirit, you know, praying for people,

  813. falling out in the spirit, stuff like

  814. that. I was real jaded. Real jaded,

  815. right? So, like if I was ever in the

  816. line, I would just courtesy fall before

  817. the person got to me. Like I just I is

  818. that okay to say? I don't like like

  819. they'd be coming down the line. I was

  820. like, "Oh geez, here we go again. I just

  821. wanted to come up and confess, you know,

  822. that I'm a sinner, you know, and now now

  823. they're going to, you know, on me and

  824. I'm like I don't that's gross, right?

  825. The co era now you don't breathe in

  826. somebody's face. I saw somebody do that

  827. the other day. I was like and uh and so

  828. I'm not against that. I mean fall out

  829. spirit real thing. I've had had those

  830. experience anyway. So, but they'd be

  831. coming. They'd be on the person next to

  832. me like the glory is so good, you know,

  833. and I just go back and then you're

  834. laying on the ground. How long do I need

  835. to stay? You know, should I cry? Uh so

  836. so problem is growing up in that you get

  837. kind of jaded by that and you and then

  838. you're wondering if everybody's courtesy

  839. fallen like is it is it real? You know

  840. all this stuff and and that's what I

  841. grew up in. Um and all those those moves

  842. of God are incredibly uh incredibly

  843. powerful. If you've experienced those

  844. kind of things they they're real. That

  845. happens. It's incredible. Um when you

  846. see it every Sunday

  847. you grow up in it. You start to go here

  848. we go again. Sally's up, you

  849. and so, uh, so anyway,

  850. I kind of grew to have this aversion to

  851. stepping out in that, right? I didn't

  852. want to I didn't want to do it and have

  853. it be fake. So, it was night of worship.

  854. I'm playing and something comes in my

  855. head. I was like, not doing that. Not

  856. doing that. We're in the next song and

  857. it comes to my head again. I feel like

  858. the Lord's telling me to say something

  859. in the microphone. I'm like, "No,

  860. you know, and it happens again." I'm

  861. like, "Okay, I guess I'll do I guess

  862. I'll do this." And so we get to the end

  863. of the song, keys are playing, you know,

  864. it's and I'm like,

  865. well,

  866. I feel like the Lord's put something on

  867. my heart, people,

  868. that there's somebody in this room who's

  869. has pain in their knee and they've gone

  870. to all the doctors and there's nothing

  871. they can do and it's just horrible and

  872. you're really struggling with it.

  873. And I guess God wants to heal you

  874. tonight.

  875. you know, no no hand goes up. No,

  876. nobody's like jumping over. No, there's

  877. nobody doing a glory run around the

  878. building. And I'm like, "All right,

  879. cool. Let's next song." You know,

  880. so we go on the whole night and I'm not

  881. like down about it. I'm just, you know,

  882. it is maybe a little bit like I didn't

  883. see it happen. I was like, you know, I

  884. guess that was nothing. And I remember

  885. it like it was yesterday. I pack my

  886. stuff up. people have kind of filtered

  887. out of the room and I'm and I go down

  888. the right side of our room, my right,

  889. your left. And as I'm about halfway

  890. back, there's an exit door, right?

  891. Emergency exit door. I remember I'm just

  892. about to the exit door and this lady

  893. goes, "Pastor Ross." And I look over and

  894. she's right here. And I'm like, "What?"

  895. And and she goes, "It was me."

  896. I'm like, "What do you mean it was you?"

  897. She's like, "The leg thing.

  898. I've like I messed my right knee up and

  899. I've been to every specialist and they

  900. can't they can't figure it out. I've had

  901. surgeries. It's just the worst pain.

  902. She's not a not a She's a young lady in

  903. like her late 30s and she's like I just

  904. excruciating pain and I they're like

  905. you're going to be stuck with this for

  906. the rest of your life. She it was me.

  907. She said and you said that

  908. and all the pain went out of my knee.

  909. And I was like, "What?"

  910. Really?

  911. She's like, "Yeah." She's like, "I

  912. couldn't I I like I had to use a cane

  913. most days. Like, I can't walk. Like,"

  914. and she starts walking around like this.

  915. And I'm like, "No way." And she's like,

  916. like, I'm healed. This is crazy.

  917. And I'm like, "All right,

  918. that's amazing." That lady was at our

  919. church for like eight more years. Never

  920. walked with a cane, never walked with a

  921. limp, never had an issue with her leg

  922. ever again. And I'm But that night, I'm

  923. like

  924. I'm like I had a 40-minute comm. I'm

  925. like calling everybody I KNOW LIKE,

  926. "DAD, DAD, you're not going to believe

  927. it. This is happening in the thing."

  928. He's like, "Cool, SON." I'M LIKE, "COME

  929. ON." HE'S LIKE, "YEAH, GOD DOES THAT ALL

  930. THE TIME." I CALLED my aunt. She was a

  931. pastor. And I'm like, "And Chris, you

  932. got to hear this." And she's like,

  933. "That's amazing, right?" Like, it it

  934. changed the course of my life because in

  935. the moment, God gave me the picture I've

  936. been looking for. I got a chance to see

  937. his power on display. I wasn't amazed

  938. that I prayed. I I didn't even pray. I

  939. said, "God wants to heal you." And I

  940. moved on. Right? What was amazing is

  941. that I experienced the power, the

  942. healing power of God. He did something

  943. great because I said, "Okay."

  944. because I said I would do it, right?

  945. Because I said yes.

  946. I think there's a lot of people who go

  947. to church every single Sunday and they

  948. believe that Jesus is their savior,

  949. right? But like Paul writes in Ephesians

  950. 3, you're not experiencing the fullness.

  951. You're not experiencing it. It says that

  952. you may be filled to the measure of all

  953. the fullness of God. Everybody say all.

  954. All

  955. >> and according to other scriptures, all

  956. means overflowing.

  957. It means I want to pour out so much that

  958. you can't even have a place to store it.

  959. There's scripture. It says he wants to

  960. do this in your life. Right? That night

  961. changed the course of my faith. It

  962. changed the course of my life.

  963. It was where I realized that if God

  964. wanted to do something, all I had to do

  965. was say yes. It turned me into a yes man

  966. for the Lord.

  967. Maybe you should be a yes man or a yes

  968. woman for the Lord. Men, go to the

  969. conference.

  970. >> Beat them women.

  971. >> Come on.

  972. >> No offense, ladies. There's there's just

  973. about nothing more powerful than a man

  974. on fire for God. He'll change the whole

  975. course of your family, your life, your

  976. future, your legacy.

  977. >> Right? Become a yes man. Become a yes

  978. woman. Right? What more fullness could

  979. there be in life than to know you said

  980. yes to God and he did an amazing

  981. miracle?

  982. What more fullness could there be?

  983. So, how do we do it?

  984. You got to take a step of faith.

  985. You got to try.

  986. Do you remember when Jesus walked on the

  987. water? Jesus wasn't the only one that

  988. walked on the water. You remember Peter

  989. walked on the water? That had to be a

  990. thing, right? That had to be cool. I

  991. mean, I know he was afraid of the waves

  992. and eventually he went down. But for a

  993. few seconds, he had to be like, "Whoa!"

  994. Right? Like, I don't know anybody else

  995. who's ever walked on the water. If

  996. you're in this room, let's go to the

  997. lake right after this. I want to see

  998. this. Can I hold your hand? Does that

  999. transfer the power? I want to stand on

1000. the water with you. Okay? Like that had

1001. to be unbelievable. You notice none of

1002. the other disciples got to experience

1003. it. And I know we look at Peter and we

1004. say, "What a what a loser because he

1005. ended up sinking and all that stuff."

1006. But for a few pretty awesome moments, he

1007. experienced something no other human

1008. other than Jesus has ever experienced.

1009. Because he was willing to try.

1010. You got to be willing to try.

1011. But what if I put it out there? What if

1012. I try something and it doesn't work? Who

1013. cares? It's not on you. It wasn't about

1014. you in the first place. It's about the

1015. Lord. You pray for healing and you don't

1016. see it happen. That ain't on you. If it

1017. was on you, then you'd be thinking

1018. you're doing it by your power. Listen,

1019. you're not very powerful. Neither am I.

1020. Neither am I. Right? It's his power.

1021. It's his plan. It's his purpose. We have

1022. to be willing to try. We got to take a

1023. step of faith. Right? Got to do it.

  1024. There's one more verse in Paul's

1025. teaching about experiencing the power of

1026. God. There's one more in this section.

1027. Now, he talks about it all over the

1028. Bible, but verse 20 we already read.

1029. We'll read it again. Now, to him who is

1030. able to do immeasurably more than we ask

1031. or imagine according to his power that

1032. is at work within us. It says this, to

1033. him be the glory, right? In the church,

1034. which means in our lives and in Christ

1035. Jesus throughout all generations forever

1036. and ever. Amen. the to God be the glory,

1037. right? It's got to be about God and not

  1038. about you.

1039. It's got to be about what he wants to do

1040. and not about what you want to do. It's

1041. about bringing glory to him, right?

1042. Interesting today the songs that we had

1043. uh that last one the it ended with all

1044. glory and power and honor, you know, to

1045. to I think it was honor at the end.

1046. Maybe it wasn't. Um but I've not heard

1047. that song. In fact, I didn't know any of

1048. the songs today, but it was awesome to

1049. learn some new songs. Um, that's odd for

  1050. me. Um, squirrel. Um,

  1051. so many people

  1052. I'm going to I'm and I'm going to I'm

1053. going to speak to you today. So many

1054. people are going through life going,

  1055. "What

1056. what does God want to do with me?" Or

1057. we're looking for our purpose.

1058. I I talk to people all the time. They're

1059. like, you know, I just I'm trying to

1060. figure out what God wants me to do. I

1061. just I'm trying to figure out my purpose

1062. in life. What did God create for me? I

1063. know that the Bible says I have a

1064. purpose. What did God create for me? And

1065. I think it becomes about me and more

1066. about me and less about him. Right? It

1067. needs to be what does God want to do

  1068. today?

1069. How does God want to work today? How can

1070. I say yes to God today? If because the

1071. problem is is when we think what is my

1072. purpose, it it kind of puts a finish

1073. line somewhere. Listen, the I don't even

1074. know what my purpose is yet. I'm doing

1075. what I've got in front of me and what

1076. the Lord's put in front of me today. I

1077. don't know what a few years from now

  1078. looks like. I I have thoughts. A man

1079. without vision perishes, right? So, I

1080. have thoughts and visions and and

1081. thoughts about what my future will be.

1082. But if God goes, "No, you're going over

1083. here." I will go, right? I will say yes

1084. because my finish line isn't in my

1085. purpose. My finish line is in heaven. My

1086. finish line hopefully is well done, my

1087. good and faithful servant. Right? And

1088. so, so we have to stop looking at once I

1089. figure out my purpose, then I'll get be

1090. able to go. You just need to go now.

1091. >> And eventually he'll work lots of

1092. purposes out in your life, right? Lots

1093. of things. But you got to try. You got

1094. to try. You got to you got to want to

1095. give him, you know, the glory, right?

1096. And and so it's funny that video is so

1097. perfect. It was like he wants to do a

1098. measurably more and at the end it says

1099. so pray or it said something like pray

  1100. you got to try

  1101. pray

1102. for stuff start praying you you might be

1103. surprised what happens right so I I'll

1104. end today with a couple stories but what

1105. I really want to land on for for you

1106. today is that you don't have to be a

1107. pastor for God to do awesome works in

1108. your life and through your life. You

1109. don't have to be something special. You

1110. don't have to try to reach some goal.

1111. You don't have to know the Bible enough.

1112. All you have to do is ask the Lord to

1113. intervene. Ask him to come into

1114. situations. Invite him to heal people.

1115. Invite him to bring provision into

1116. people's lives. Ask him to do crazy

  1117. stuff.

1118. Why not ask him to do crazy stuff? So,

1119. um I've prayed for lots of people over

1120. the years and I've seen nothing happen.

1121. I've seen crazy stuff happen. Um there's

1122. a couple in our church for years. Um the

1123. husband was a a Assembly of God pastor

1124. and then in retirement they moved to our

1125. community and he still traveled and

1126. spoke he he had spoken all around the

1127. world. He for the Assembly of God

1128. ministry but for God and like thousands

1129. of people in Africa and India and in

1130. Asia all over the place. Um I saw

1131. pictures of him and stuff like that. His

1132. wife traveled along with him all that

1133. stuff. Well, she got real sick and u she

1134. had an autoimmune disease that was

1135. basically well it was going to kill her.

1136. They doctors had said she had 2 weeksish

1137. to live and uh she had gone down to like

1138. 75 lbs or 78 lb, hadn't been out of bed

1139. in like 3 months. And um so because they

1140. got the report that she was going to

1141. die, um they they said, "Hey, could you

1142. come pray one more time?" So me and

1143. another one of our pastors went out

1144. there were like, "Yeah, we'll pray for

1145. her." So we go in the room and we're

1146. just like, you know, Lord,

1147. heal her. If it's your will, heal her.

1148. simple. We left and the next day um her

  1149. husband Steve calls. He's like, "She's

1150. out. I came around the corner. She's out

1151. of bed. She hasn't been out of bed in

1152. months." And I'm like, "Oh, okay. Well,

1153. we're going to just pray that God's

1154. going to complete his healing in her."

1155. And so, sure enough, uh two weeks later,

1156. she went to the doctor still alive. And

  1157. uh it's okay. We've all been there. I've

1158. been there. I have five of them. Look at

  1159. them. Look at how

  1160. Stop. Stop it.

1161. You're okay. No big deal. Um, and so,

1162. uh, so anyway, they go to the doctor,

1163. like all of her numbers are totally

1164. normal. Can't figure it out.

1165. She ends up totally healed. She's, she's

1166. got this incredible ministry right now

1167. that she travels around the country

  1168. ministering to widows

1169. because a few years later, her husband

1170. got sick. We went to the hospital and I

1171. prayed a very similar prayer. We even

1172. stood on the faith that what we saw

1173. happen in her would come to happen in

  1174. him.

1175. And about a week later, he went to be

  1176. with Jesus.

1177. I don't know. But it's not up to me.

1178. It's up to me to invite God into the

  1179. situation.

1180. >> It's up to me to say, "God, come to it."

1181. Listen, I've seen crazy stuff like that

1182. happen. I got a sty in my eye. I've been

1183. praying for it for three months and it's

1184. still there. COME ON, GOD. That's an

  1185. easy one.

1186. Come on. You got to be kidding me,

  1187. right? I don't know. Maybe it's like

1188. Paul, a thorn in the flesh to keep you

  1189. humble. I Whatever it is, I don't know,

1190. right? But I know that if I don't invite

1191. him into the situation, I make it so

1192. there's no chance for him to do his

  1193. work.

1194. >> So, let's invite him into the situation,

1195. right? Let's ask him to do it. I got one

1196. more story and then I'll end. Can I give

  1197. you one more? I know it's I'm a

1198. long-winded preacher, but Ben told me I

1199. could. Anyway, so we're going to

1200. So this last spring, um we got four of

1201. the five kids here today and um we're we

1202. this last spring it was uh all you know

1203. all the school things going on. We got

1204. the spring concert for our youngest kid

1205. and so you know where kids get up there

1206. and sing and it's great. Um, and so we

1207. ran home real quick after school and

1208. then we had to go back to the school for

1209. the performance and we had about 40

1210. minutes at home and we live on about 10

1211. acres of land out there and uh and we

1212. have a go-kart and that thing is

1213. awesome. I mean it goes like 45 miles an

1214. hour and and it's got the roll cage and

1215. it fits me. It's awesome. And but the

1216. kids love ripping through the trails on

1217. our property. Our whole property is

1218. wooded and so if you go off the trail

  1219. that far you'll hit you'll catch a tree.

1220. Um and there's it's just you know trails

1221. just wide enough to fit it. They're

1222. crazy. Like, you want to like have a

1223. near-death experience? Ride with my

1224. kids. And so, they so they're going off

1225. into the woods and I thought, you know,

1226. this would be a really bad day for them

  1227. to have an accident.

1228. So, I go upstairs and I was getting

1229. ready to, you know, changing clothes to

1230. get go on to the concert thing. And I

1231. come downstairs and Allison's not in the

  1232. kitchen. The kids aren't there. I'm

1233. like, "Where are they? We got to go."

1234. Right? And so, my phone rings and it's

1235. her and I'm like, "Why is she calling

1236. me? We're at home." and she's screaming,

1237. "The kid, the boys have rolled the

1238. go-kart." And it's our youngest two who

1239. are sitting over here. Um they they've

1240. rolled the go-kart and it's bad. You

1241. need to get back here right now. And so,

  1242. um I I I'm like start running back

1243. there. I'm like, "What am I going to

1244. do?" Like, "Right, they're in the clear

1245. back of the property." So, I went and

1246. got a vehicle and drove back down the

1247. trail to get to them. And when I get

1248. there, uh, Luke is standing there

1249. holding his elbow like this and his arm

1250. is like like it's like one of those

  1251. moments, right? I'm like, "Oh, that's

1252. broken. That's not good." And, you know,

1253. just crying and there's pain and

1254. everything and like they they they had

1255. rolled it and he put his arm out and the

1256. roll bar came down on his arm and broke

1257. his arm. Turns out very common go-kart

1258. injury. Uh, but anyway, so I'm like,

1259. "Well, I'm not going to the concert. I'm

1260. going to the to the urgent care, you

1261. know. So, we get him in the car and

  1262. Allison's like, "I've already prayed

1263. over him. Let's pray again." So, he's

1264. sitting in the back seat before we go

1265. and we pray over his arm and I said,

1266. "How bad's it hurt? He's got a very high

  1267. pain tolerance."

1268. And I know that from experience. Uh and

1269. and so anyway, I said that I I remember

1270. him saying 10. He corrected me. He said

1271. it was an eight, Dad. But anyway, um

1272. what's the pain, you know, out of 10? He

1273. said eight, apparently. and he's but

1274. he's balling. He can't move his arm and

1275. it's all bent, all wonky, you know. I

1276. was like, "Well, let's go." So, we're

1277. driving. My heart's breaking for him. Um

1278. because that that stinks right on the

1279. right on the front end of summer and all

1280. of the things going on. And um and so

1281. anyway, we're we get to the to the

1282. urgent care. We go in and the

  1283. receptionist lady's there. She's like,

1284. "How can we help you?" And he goes like

1285. this. And she's like, "We're the doctor

1286. will see you now." And and that's

1287. broken. And so we get in there, doctor

1288. comes in, just looks at it, goes, "Wow,

  1289. that's broken. that's really broken. Um,

1290. and he's like that we're not going to be

1291. able to help you here. You're going to

1292. have to drive him to Grand Rapids, but

1293. before we send you, let's get his X-rays

1294. and we'll send them ahead so that they

1295. can have a plan ready. He's probably

1296. going to need some rods or pins or

1297. whatever cuz that's, you know, it's not

1298. good. Um, can you handle it if I put a

1299. picture up of it of his arm? You guys

1300. handle? Okay. So, you get let's get the

1301. picture of his arm here. Okay.

1302. >> Yeah. So, he's sitting there. the

1303. doctor, you know, how's it hurt? He's

1304. like, "It's an eight." And the doctor

1305. tries to touch his arm and, you know,

1306. he's, you know, in pain. And they said,

1307. "We'll send you for x-rays and then

1308. we'll get you on the road." And so he

1309. goes out of the room and I turn to Luke.

  1310. I said, "Luke,

1311. do you want to see a miracle?" And he's

1312. like, "Yeah." I'm like, "Me, too." Um,

1313. and so I said, "Let's pray one more time

1314. before we go in the X-rays and let's

1315. pray that God is going to make it so

1316. that when we see the X-rays, there's no

1317. broken bone." And he's like, "Okay." And

1318. so I put my hand up on his arm up here

1319. where it wasn't, you know, bent. And um

1320. simple. I just went, "Lord, we know that

1321. you're the healer and that your word

1322. promises that you would heal." God, I

1323. just pray that you would heal Luke's

1324. arm, Luke's arm, and that when we go

  1325. into that X-ray,

1326. it looks good. Amen. And so we go out,

1327. we get in there, and they they let me

1328. go, you know, and they put him under the

1329. X-ray machine. go behind that wall where

1330. the screens are, you know, and they do

1331. the thing and you get to see it and and

1332. so the girl standing next to me, X-ray

1333. tech, and it and it pops up on the

1334. screen and I was like,

  1335. I'm not an X-ray technician or a

  1336. radiologist, but I don't see a broken

1337. bone. She goes, no, it has to be broken.

1338. So, she goes out and she repositions his

1339. arm and takes eight more pictures and

1340. comes back. And every time she's like, I

  1341. just don't I don't know. And so I was

1342. like, "This is awesome." And so she's

1343. like, "We'll take you back to the room."

1344. I'll send the doctor back in. And as

1345. we're walking back to the room, I said,

1346. "Hey, in your professional opinion, do

1347. you did you see a break there?" She

1348. goes, "Well, I'm not supposed to say

1349. anything or I could lose my job. So I'm

1350. going to tell you, I didn't see

1351. anything, but you can't tell anybody."

1352. So I'm telling everybody. Um Um So we

1353. get back to the room and I said, "Luke,

  1354. what's the pain?" He's like, "I don't

1355. know, like maybe a two." And the doctor

1356. asks, and then the doctor starts pushing

1357. on his arm and moving his arm, asking

1358. him to move. And he goes, "Listen, sir."

  1359. He's like, "You know, I if a kid's arm

1360. is broken and you start touching it,

1361. they always pull it away from you." And

  1362. he's like, "I I just don't know." He's

1363. like, "We'll have you come back in five

1364. days and see if it's broken then."

1365. So, they gave they gave him this little

1366. sling thing, which he probably went home

1367. and took off and played volleyball with

1368. his sister in the backyard. And uh and I

1369. was like, "Dude, we just saw a miracle."

1370. and his eyes were like this big, you

  1371. know,

1372. and I thought in the moment I thought,

1373. you know, I didn't have to pray. We had

1374. already prayed. I didn't have to pray.

1375. And we could have went to Grand Rapids

1376. and they could have put a cast on them

1377. and done all the things that needed to

1378. be done. And we could have, you know,

1379. and I'm not nothing against doctors,

1380. nothing about modern medicine. I do

1381. believe God uses pe gave those people

1382. gifts and talents, too. Amen. Right?

1383. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm not

1384. telling you not to go to the doctor. I'm

1385. saying, would you involve God in every

1386. one of those situations? Because he just

1387. might want to do a miracle

1388. and you might just be able to be the

1389. vessel that he uses to work through. And

1390. when he does stuff like that, you go,

  1391. "Wow,

1392. God does want to do immeasurably more

1393. than we could ask or imagine." Amen. And

1394. he wants to do it through you, but you

1395. have to try. You have to step out of the

1396. boat if you want to step on the water,

1397. if you want to experience it. So, I want

1398. to challenge you to do that. I think

1399. that this world needs more believers

1400. who are willing to invite God into

1401. unbelieving situations. I think one of

1402. the ways that we as Christ followers, as

1403. children of God, can make an impact in

1404. this world for him is to invite him into

1405. those situations. We need to stop being

1406. quiet. Now, I'm not saying we need to go

1407. pick it. I'm saying we need to go and

1408. say, "God loves you. Can I pray for you?

1409. If you feel in your heart, if there's a

1410. moment where you go, man, I should pray

1411. for that person. Don't hesitate another

  1412. second, just do it.

1413. Turn to your neighbor and like Nike

1414. says, tell them just do it, right? Like

1415. just do it. Like just you just have to

1416. do it. It seems crazy. You're like,

1417. "What if they think I'm crazy?" Who

  1418. cares?

1419. Who cares? Because he doesn't think

  1420. you're crazy.

  1421. He doesn't think you're crazy.

  1422. He thinks you're a royal priesthood, a

  1423. holy nation.

1424. >> He wants to fill you to the full measure

1425. of all of his goodness. He wants to fill

1426. your cup to o overflowing. And he wants

1427. to do immeasurably more than you could

1428. ever ask or imagine. Amen.

1429. >> All right, let's pray together. Father,

1430. I just pray over each and every person

1431. in this room. I pray that today out of

1432. what we talked about, and I know I told

1433. a lot of my stories of my life, God, is

1434. is that none of the takeaway would be

1435. about me. It would all be about that you

1436. want to do more in each one of our

1437. lives. So much more. And God, that if we

1438. would just be your children who would

1439. carry your name well, who would invite

1440. you into the room in every sit situation

1441. that we can, God, that you would do

1442. more, that you would show us the picture

1443. to prove that it would happen.

1444. And God, that we would walk around with

1445. stories and testimonies of your

1446. goodness. Your word says that we

1447. overcome the devil by the blood of the

1448. lamb, by Jesus and what he did, and by

1449. the word of our testimony. God, we need

1450. more testimonies. So God, we invite you

1451. to fulfill your promises in our life.

1452. God, every time we pray, we invite you

1453. to fulfill your promises so that we can

1454. share more testimonies of your goodness

1455. and lead more people to know you. So

1456. God, I thank you for every believer,

1457. every person, every child of yours in

1458. this room. And God, I pray we would be

1459. motivated to try to step out of the

  1460. boat.

1461. With everybody's eyes closed, if if

1462. you're here in the room right now and

1463. you've not made Jesus Lord of your life,

1464. I would love to have the opportunity to

1465. introduce you to him. If you're watching

1466. online, same thing. You don't have to be

1467. in this room to choose to follow Jesus.

1468. God has a plan and purpose for your

1469. life. His book tells us all about it.

  1470. All about you.

1471. A lot of people know they have a purpose

1472. and they try to get there on their own.

1473. The truth is the God purpose that he has

1474. for you is only attainable by letting

1475. him be the one to lead you there. By

1476. letting him to be the one that that

1477. works through your life to see it

1478. happen. If you're here and you want to

1479. choose to make Jesus Lord, you want to

1480. begin. This isn't the finish line. This

  1481. is the starting line.

1482. If you want to begin a life with Jesus

1483. and to begin a life living out the

1484. purpose you were created to fulfill with

1485. nobody looking around but me. If you

1486. want to make that decision today, just

1487. lift your hand up high. Is there anybody

1488. that knows they want to do that? I see

1489. your hand. I see your hand. See your

1490. hand. Okay. See your hand back there.

1491. Okay. You can put your hands down. But

1492. if you raised your hand, would just you

1493. look up and make eye contact with me. If

1494. you raise your hand, I see you. I see

1495. you. I see you. There's one over here.

  1496. Back there.

1497. I see you. But it doesn't matter that I

1498. see you. It matters that God has always

1499. seen you. that he's been calling your

1500. name since the day you were born. And it

1501. says in the word that all of heaven

1502. celebrates when even one person chooses

1503. to f become part of the family of God.

1504. Today, there's multiple in this room.

1505. And praise the Lord, heaven is going

  1506. wild because you've joined God's family.

1507. Your name is being announced in heaven

1508. right now. So, we're going to say a

1509. prayer together as a church family.

1510. We're going to pray and invite Jesus to

1511. be Lord of your life. But let's be

1512. honest, talk is cheap. It's very easy to

1513. say this today and to leave and go out

1514. of here the same. So when when pastor

1515. comes back up, he's going to give you

1516. the steps you need to take to do the

1517. next steps here at the church and

1518. online. There's got to be a way for you

1519. to connect. I'm not the normal pastor

1520. here, but they want you to to to do what

1521. they say to do so that they can help you

1522. take the first steps in God's direction.

1523. You need support. They're here to do it.

1524. Okay. So, we're going to pray together.

  1525. Let's close our eyes together. Let's

1526. pray. Say this with me. We're going to

1527. declare that Jesus is Lord. Say, Lord,

1528. >> thank you for loving me.

1529. >> Thank you for loving me. Thank you for

  1530. sending Jesus.

1531. >> Thank you for sending Jesus.

1532. >> To die on the cross.

  1533. >> To die.

1534. >> So that I could be forgiven.

  1535. >> So that

1536. >> Thank you that he defeated the grave.

  1537. >> Thank you.

1538. >> So that I can go to heaven.

  1539. >> So I can go.

1540. >> And thank you that he rose to life.

  1541. >> Thank you.

1542. >> So that I can have new life.

  1543. >> Today I choose

  1544. >> to make Jesus

1545. >> the Lord of my life.

1546. >> Lord of my life.

1547. >> And I invite the power of your spirit.

  1548. into my life

  1549. >> into my life

  1550. >> to lead me

1551. >> into the life you created for me

1552. >> in Jesus mighty name.

  1553. >> in Jesus name.

1554. >> Let's all say it together. Amen. Amen.

1555. Amen. Come on, let's celebrate those

1556. people. Thank you so much for having me

1557. today. It was an honor. Thanks.

1558. Praise the Lord. Can we celebrate the

1559. word of the Lord today? and Pastor Ross.

1560. Hey, listen. If you gave your life to

1561. Jesus right there, um there's going to

1562. be a number on the screen behind me uh

1563. that you can text save to. And we want

1564. to connect with you. We want to walk

1565. with you uh because like Pastor Ross

1566. said, salvation is the starting line,

1567. not the finish line. And uh disciplehip

1568. and just get you uh loved on and

1569. connected well in the body of Jesus

1570. Christ. Um, I'm going to ask our prayer

1571. team to come forward. And for all of us

1572. in this room that you've been uh maybe

  1573. stirred a little bit, God's been

1574. ministering to you in this hour. Uh, I

1575. believe there's some people in here uh

1576. that on the inside of you, you're

1577. saying, "God, I want to see it.

1578. God, I want to see it." And I'll just

  1579. I'll just be vulnerable for a m moment.

1580. I spent uh 25 years in Pentecostal

1581. charismatic circles and we've had a lot

1582. of seasons of some incredible miracles,

1583. things that are unexplainable that that

1584. only God could have done it. And I've

1585. had some seasons, man, where uh we've

1586. been even around the charismaniacs where

1587. it got a little weird sometimes.

  1588. God bless him.

1589. And many of you know that last fall I

1590. was in Israel and the week before I left

1591. I was in the hospital uh with

1592. excruciating back pain assuming that I

1593. wouldn't even be able to go on the trip

1594. and and just pray that God would make a

1595. way and doctors and X-rays and all the

1596. different things. And I'm standing in

  1597. Capernaum

1598. hearing about all the miracles just like

1599. we heard today. I'm hearing about all

1600. the miracles. I'm standing looking at

1601. the Apostle Peter's house in the temple

1602. where Jesus taught and we're going

1603. through the Bible and and standing at

1604. the locations of all the all the

1605. miracles and my back is on 10. I can

  1606. barely stand.

1607. And a buddy of mine, he's actually an

  1608. assembly. He's a God pastor, had a

1609. little intermission and and he says,

  1610. "Man, you're hurting, aren't you?" I

1611. said, "Yeah." He says, "Well, let's

1612. pray, man." I said, "All right, we'll do

1613. it. can I sit while we pray because I

1614. heard? And he called another brother

1615. over and he just did a simple prayer.

  1616. Nothing nothing extravagant.

1617. And uh the word that he gave along with

1618. it, a prophetic word is he said, "I'm

1619. just seeing a few minutes, a few hours,

1620. a few days, a few months, a few years,

1621. God's going to continue to heal you." Um

1622. we didn't make it back to the bus and

1623. we're getting on the bus and he says,

1624. "Man, how you feeling?" So about 20

  1625. minutes later, I said, ' Man, I I don't

  1626. have any pain.

  1627. I don't have any pain.

1628. God healed me. Can I tell you what I did

1629. this week? Uh for a guy that has

1630. struggled with back pain for all those

1631. years, uh my daughter Zoe and I, we went

1632. to Red River Gorge and climbed a

1633. mountain. This was this was hike number

  1634. four out of five.

1635. and uh 322 foot incline on rock and I

1636. had to get behind Zoe and put my

1637. shoulder and get I mean this thing was

  1638. scary. We're we're 1,200 feet above and

1639. I got up there and I go only God because

1640. I wouldn't have been able to do this

1641. unless God healed me. Amen. And it's

1642. amazing even with ministry and all the

1643. different things uh that even I get

1644. still surprised by God. I'm like look at

1645. that. I'm healed in Jesus name. Praise

1646. the Lord. So, I want to encourage your

1647. faith. And if you're in that place,

1648. we're going to end with some worship

1649. here in just a moment. But our prayer

1650. team is up here. And if you're in that

1651. place, you're saying, "God, I want to

1652. see it." And maybe you need that

1653. miracle. Whatever that need is, I want

1654. to invite you to come and let us agree

1655. with you in faith. Would you stand to

1656. your feet all over this house?

1657. Father, we thank you, Lord, for a

1658. stirring faith. God, we thank you, Lord.

1659. God, that you've called us for more. And

1660. God, we're we're thankful for church on

1661. Sunday, but God, we're we're praying on

1662. Monday and on Tuesday and on every day

1663. of the week, God, that we would be

1664. filled with the power of God, Lord, that

1665. you would speak and minister not only to

1666. us, but also through us. And Father, we

1667. pray that your miracles would be

1668. abundant in our life. And Father, I'm

1669. praying for those individuals in this

1670. room that need a miracle, that need a

1671. fresh touch of heaven, God, that you

1672. would meet them right where they are and

1673. bless them. And Father, we want to see

1674. more. We want to see you God. So your

1675. will be done now in Jesus name. Amen.

1676. The altars are open. Won't you come?
