  1. Hallelujah. Grace Summit Church. How we

  2. feeling today,

  3. man? We are in the presence of God.

  4. Amen.

  5. >> Uh you guys ready for the word?

  6. >> All right. Half of you. Are you guys

  7. ready for the word of God?

  8. >> Man, that's a good reason to get up in

  9. the morning. Amen.

  10. >> For the living word of God.

  11. >> If you're a guest with us, uh my name is

  12. Ben. I have the opportunity to serve as

  13. lead pastor here. And man, I hope you're

  14. ready for power.

  15. >> Amen. Yeah,

  16. >> God has a word for you today. Pray with

  17. me. Father, I thank you, Lord, for

  18. revival loosening on the inside of every

  19. soul in this room. Father, we didn't

  20. come to play church. Father, we didn't

  21. come just to uh hear words from men. But

  22. God, we came, Lord, for divine

  23. revelation and impartation of grace from

  24. your throne room. Lord, I thank you,

  25. God, for the anointing in this house,

  26. breaking the yoke of bondage.

  27. And father I speak to every bondage in

  28. this room right now to be broken in

  29. Jesus name. Father I thank you for

  30. freedom in this house to not only

  31. worship you but to also hear you. So

  32. father give us ears to hear and eyes to

  33. see what your spirit is communicating to

  34. your people on this day in Jesus name.

  35. Amen. Amen.

  36. >> Last week we kicked off a new series

  37. called Designed and we're going to

  38. continue this week.

  39. You are designed by God

  40. on purpose and with purpose.

  41. On purpose

  42. and with purpose. Last week we unpacked

  43. a little bit of that design that you are

  44. designed by designed for power. The same

  45. spirit that rose Christ from the dead

  46. now dwells in you. You're designed to

  47. have the power of heaven flowing through

  48. you. Number two was you're designed for

  49. presence.

  50. When you walk in the room, God walks in

  51. with you. Amen.

  52. And you're designed for passion.

  53. Passion. I think of that warning

  54. about the lukewarm church.

  55. He says, "I wish you were either hot or

  56. cold, but because you're lukewarm, I'm

  57. about to spit you out of my mouth.

  58. Passion.

  59. Start a fire. Light a fire on the inside

  60. of you." Let me say this. If you're

  61. going to be saved, be saved. If you're

  62. going to worship, worship. If you're

  63. going to pray, pray.

  64. power, presence, passion. Today, I want

  65. to go a little bit deeper with you.

  66. And here's the question that gets left

  67. on the table a lot of time when we're

  68. talking about

  69. the design that we have.

  70. Talk about having power and passion and

  71. presence, but what's the assignment?

  72. Look at your neighbor and ask them. Say,

  73. "What's the assignment?"

  74. Can I say this? Every hammer needs a

  75. nail.

  76. >> Amen.

  77. >> I'm a car guy.

  78. >> Actually, I'm just an engine guy. I like

  79. things that I like things that rumble a

  80. little bit. Man, I like a good good V. I

  81. don't want a little four cylinder.

  82. What am I going to do with that thing?

  83. >> I want American muscle, man. I want a

  84. V8. I want that thing to rumble when I

  85. touch that gas pedal and I'm getting on

  86. 69.

  87. I'm not tucking behind the semi. No,

  88. sir. I'm getting out in front of that

  89. semi.

  90. >> That's right.

  91. >> Yeah.

  92. Sit on my motorcycle. Pastor D. Oh my

  93. goodness.

  94. 1200cc. Got that thing rumbling between

  95. my legs.

  96. I like power.

  97. >> Amen.

  98. >> It's another reason why I like the Holy

  99. Ghost. It's another reason why I like

  100. the word. But let me say this. Every

  101. motorcycle needs a road. Amen.

  102. >> We got to have a destination. We got to

  103. have an assignment. What am I doing with

  104. this thing? Every weapon needs a target.

  105. You were designed by God on purpose

  106. and with purpose. If you're taking

  107. notes, you can write this down. Design

  108. without a destination

  109. is just decoration.

  110. M

  111. design without a destination

  112. is just decoration.

  113. You know, God cleans us up, but he

  114. didn't clean us up in such a way as to

  115. be a piece of jewelry hanging on the

  116. church wall.

  117. >> Cleaned us up to use us for something.

  118. >> Oh, what is that something?

  119. >> Matthew chap 28 and verse 19,

  120. Jesus said this. He said, "Go." Say,

  121. "Go."

  122. >> Go.

  123. >> Go therefore and make disciples.

  124. Make

  125. disciples

  126. of all nations, baptizing them in the

  127. name of the Father and of the Son and of

  128. the Holy Spirit. Catch this. Teaching

  129. them to observe all I have commanded

  130. you. And behold, I'm with you always to

  131. the end of the age.

  132. The commission is to go and make

  133. disciples. The word make there is

  134. interesting in the original language. It

  135. has the idea of forging from raw

  136. material.

  137. Forging from raw material.

  138. You have any fishermen in here?

  139. Anyone ever been fishing before?

  140. >> We'll help you out a little bit.

  141. Jesus called us to be fishers of men.

  142. Amen.

  143. >> Fishers of men. Uh Lincoln and I like to

  144. go fishing in the summertime. And uh

  145. man, we come back uh all excited because

  146. we have a nice mess of fish. And then uh

  147. we upset all the girls that live in my

  148. house because we bring them right into

  149. the kitchen and put them on the counter.

  150. I'm in there with my knife. There's

  151. scales flying everywhere. We got a

  152. bucket full of guts and bones and and

  153. all the mess. And my wife was just

  154. talking to me yesterday. Maybe we got a

  155. little outdoor patty. Can we can we uh

  156. set up a little outdoor sink area

  157. >> so you boys can keep your stinky mess

  158. out there?

  159. Yeah,

  160. absolutely. We can do that. Yeah. I'm

  161. going to need about 500 bucks for a good

  162. outdoor sink though. Work a deal.

  163. And man, even after we clean, cuz boys

  164. don't clean real good. There'll still be

  165. scales stuck places.

  166. >> You guys know what I'm talking about?

  167. >> Yeah. And then and then I go, man, I I'm

  168. kind of a neat freak. I like to be

  169. clean. And you go clean really good and

  170. then it still smells and you're doing it

  171. again. You can't get it out from

  172. underneath. It still stink a little bit

  173. like the fish.

  174. Go and make disciples.

  175. Jesus said, "I'll make you fishers of

  176. men." The issue in the church world, and

  177. we're going to talk about evangelism

  178. today, your assignment, your calling,

  179. not just my calling, but your calling,

  180. >> is to go find some stinky fish that live

  181. in a different atmosphere than you.

  182. We're in the air. They're in the water.

  183. And fishermen use bait. The church in

  184. America likes fish,

  185. but we like to go right down the frozen

  186. food aisle.

  187. >> That's right.

  188. >> And get us some prepackaged fish sticks.

  189. Mhm.

  190. Yeah.

  191. Sometimes they're already breaded.

  192. >> What you do is take them out of the Oh,

  193. it smells so good.

  194. >> Take them out of little package and put

  195. them in there. We went fishing.

  196. The church likes those well-kept,

  197. clean-cut fish to come rolling in the

  198. church.

  199. >> I tell you this, fisherman stink like

  200. fish.

  201. >> I I don't know uh where you came from. I

  202. don't know what you got delivered from,

  203. but I was one stinky, nasty fish.

  204. >> Amen.

  205. >> I cursed like a sailor. I smoked

  206. everything I could smoke. I stunk.

  207. I still had dirty jokes in my mind that

  208. I thought were funny

  209. coming out of crack and heroin and meth.

  210. And I am thankful for a church that

  211. didn't need me prepackaged before they

  212. accepted me.

  213. >> I'm thankful for some men and women of

  214. God that used a little bait to say,

  215. "Son, you can come this way a little

  216. bit. Let me let me reel you in because I

  217. need to get you in the boat of Jesus

  218. Christ." Amen. Amen.

  219. >> I'm thankful for A CHURCH THAT

  220. UNDERSTOOD the assignment.

  221. >> Almost started preaching.

  222. >> Dennis Ball caught me after first

  223. service. He goes, "One of these days

  224. you're actually going to do it, aren't

  225. you?"

  226. He says, "You warn us about it every

  227. Sunday.

  228. I don't know if I'll get through these

  229. notes. I started preaching.

  230. He says, "Go therefore and make

  231. disciples."

  232. Make disciples, fashion them from raw

  233. materials. Do you know that the

  234. fisherman smells like the fish? It's

  235. okay to smell a Christian. It's okay to

  236. get a little bit dirty. It's okay to

  237. smell like the world a little bit. Amen.

  238. >> Amen.

  239. Man,

  240. I have had some of the most powerful

  241. engagements with sinners in places that

  242. the old religious legalistic church

  243. world would say, "You can't go there."

  244. >> I'll tell on myself.

  245. I'll tell on myself. I go to places that

  246. the old church, my pastor would be so

  247. upset with me.

  248. He wouldn't go to a restaurant that

  249. served alcohol.

  250. We had to go on date nights to one

  251. location

  252. with my pastor and his wife. Man, I'll

  253. go sit right at the bar.

  254. You want to know why? Because I'm saved

  255. and delivered and healed. And if I'm so

  256. weak that the world's going to influence

  257. me that quick, I have an issue.

  258. I I wouldn't have recommended that to

  259. myself year one of salvation because I

  260. was coming out of a mess. I needed

  261. myself to get discipled first. But but I

  262. got discipled. Amen. I got the power. I

  263. got the passion. I got the presence of

  264. God. And and I'm NOT GOING TO KEEP THAT

  265. just inside the four walls.

  266. Preach the word. Acts 14:21

    Acts 14:21

  267. says 20 years after Christ ascended into

  268. heaven. says, "After they preached the

  269. good news in that city and made

  270. disciples," this was common practice.

  271. Listen, thousands were being added daily

  272. to those that were being saved. They

  273. didn't have church programs. They didn't

  274. have buildings and budgets and and they

  275. didn't have any of this stuff. It was

  276. just solid believers that had the

  277. conviction of the Holy Spirit. They had

  278. the commissioning of God to say, "Man, I

  279. got to go tell somebody about my Jesus

  280. because I've been translated from the

  281. kingdom of darkness, FROM BONDAGE, FROM

  282. SLAVER. I've been yanked out of that and

  283. now I'm over here with the peace of God

  284. that surpasses understanding and I got

  285. to go tell somebody

  286. >> about Jesus.

  287. Preaching isn't just for the preacher.

  288. >> That's right.

  289. >> It's for the believer.

  290. >> I'll mess with your theology a little

  291. bit.

  292. the word pastor

  293. one time in the New Testament.

  294. Ephesians 4, one time

  295. the commissioning is for the followers

  296. of Christ, the believers of Christ.

  297. Romans 10:14 says this,

    Romans 10:14

  298. "How then will they call on him in whom

  299. they have not believed? And how are they

  300. to believe in him of whom they have

  301. never heard?

  302. And how are they to hear without someone

  303. preaching?

  304. And how are they to preach unless they

  305. are sent?" How beautiful are the feet of

  306. those who preach the good news or preach

  307. the gospel.

  308. >> John chapter 20 and verse 21 Jesus said

    John 20 chapter mention

  309. this to those that believed in him. He

  310. says as the father has sent me even so I

  311. am sending you.

  312. I am sending you. That's the voice of

  313. God. I am sending you

  314. with power, presence,

  315. passion. The title of the message today

  316. is designed for the rescue.

  317. You're designed

  318. for the rescue.

  319. Proverbs 24:1 says this, "Rescue those

    Proverbs 24:1

  320. rescue those who are being taken away to

  321. death.

  322. Hold back those who are stumbling to the

  323. slaughter."

  324. That's pretty serious language.

  325. see a non-believer and they're going to

  326. run right off the cliff into hell.

  327. They're holding back, man. They're get

  328. in their way.

  329. Say something. Rescue those who are

  330. being taken away to death. Verse 12

  331. says, "If you say, behold, we did not

  332. know this."

  333. Oh, I'm about to preach.

  334. >> Behold, we did not know this. Does not

  335. he who weighs the heart perceive it?

  336. Does not he who keeps watch over your

  337. soul know it? And will he not repay man

  338. according to his work?

  339. You know what that verse tells me? You

  340. can't plead ignorance.

  341. >> You can't plead ignorance with this

  342. thing.

  343. >> We're not called just to sit on a

  344. Sunday.

  345. >> We're called to rescue the perishing.

  346. Everyone in here, you know people that

  347. are stumbling in the darkness. You know

  348. people that are hurting and broken and

  349. in bondage.

  350. You know their names.

  351. God says, "Don't tell me you didn't know

  352. that you were supposed to tell the truth

  353. and share the good news.

  354. You were designed by God to rescue the

  355. lost.

  356. the broken. Let me put it to you this

  357. way. Uh, every once in a while in the

  358. news, we'll hear about someone lost out

  359. in the mountains. They went hiking and

  360. can't find them. Everyone's worried. And

  361. so, they pull together the rescue team,

  362. get out there. What if the rescue team

  363. went to the the parking lot where their

  364. vehicle was before they went up in the

  365. mountain? What if that rescue team went

  366. out to the to to that last location and

  367. and and put up a sign that said, "Meet

  368. me here Sunday morning at 9:15 and 11:00

  369. a.m. If you're lost, meet me right here

  370. at 9 and 11 and we'll help you get

  371. found."

  372. >> What do they do, man? They're they're

  373. designed for the rescue. They have

  374. weapons for the warfare. Amen. They have

  375. the heart and the desire. And I think

  376. about uh when Jesus talks about

  377. searching for the lost coin and

  378. searching for the lost sheep, leaving

  379. the 90 and9 to go find the one.

  380. THE HEART OF CHRIST IS TO GET OUT IN THE

  381. MESS AND TO GO FIND THAT SINNER that's

  382. lost

  383. and tell them about Jesus.

  384. The church continues to hold up their

  385. little sign.

  386. If you're lost, meet me here at 9 and

  387. 11. on Sunday morning.

  388. >> I just got to say it's time to get

  389. saved.

  390. >> It's time to know what you're designed

  391. for. Power, presence, passion, and it's

  392. time to know the assignment.

  393. The time is short.

  394. People were asking me after first

  395. service about my trip to Israel that got

  396. delayed because of the war. They said, '

  397. Do you know when you're going?' I said,

  398. 'Well, let's push back to October

  399. if we don't get raptured first.

  400. >> Russia's talking to Iran.

  401. >> I'm not preaching esquetology this

  402. morning, but

  403. time is short. better go tell somebody

  404. about Jesus

  405. because that's what you're designed for.

  406. That's the purpose.

  407. Jesus said, "As the father has sent me,

  408. so I am sending you." That's your

  409. assignment. And I want to give you some

  410. new confidence to be effective in that.

  411. In other words, I want to give you a

  412. little bit of rescue gear today. Is that

  413. okay?

  414. >> Look at your neighbor and say, "Get

  415. geared up."

  416. Matthew chapter 16 and verse 18

    Matthew 16 chapter mention

  417. says this. Jesus said to Peter, he says,

  418. "And on this rock I will build my

  419. church." Catch this. "And the gates of

  420. hell shall not prevail against it." He

  421. says, "I will give you the keys of the

  422. kingdom of heaven. And whatever you bind

  423. on earth shall be bound in heaven, and

  424. whatever you loose on earth shall be

  425. loosed in heaven.

  426. I want you to say this with me. Say, I

  427. am the church.

  428. >> I am the church.

  429. >> And the gates of hell,

  430. >> the gates of hell

  431. >> shall not

  432. >> prevail

  433. >> against me.

  434. >> Number one in your notes, you're

  435. designed to storm the gates of hell.

  436. You're designed

  437. to storm the gates of hell. He tells

  438. Peter, he says, man, I'm going to build

  439. my church. gates of hell won't prevail

  440. against it. A lot of people have read

  441. that verse and thought, "Well, uh,

  442. that's our our little Christian circle.

  443. We get together and the gates of hell

  444. won't prevail against it." I got to tell

  445. you this, gates don't move.

  446. >> That's right.

  447. >> Gates are set and established. Gates are

  448. designed in such a way as to keep people

  449. in and to keep other people out.

  450. >> Amen.

  451. I don't know about you, I've never been

  452. chased by a gate.

  453. Oh, the devil's after me. I just don't

  454. pray for me, pastor. The devil's just

  455. chasing me.

  456. Gates of hell shall not prevail against

  457. it.

  458. We've interpreted that text and others

  459. and built our own legalistic religious

  460. structure in Christianity to say that we

  461. don't go to the places of darkness. We

  462. don't hang around the sinners.

  463. Devil keeps whispering in our ear, stay

  464. in the building.

  465. >> Stay with your people. Stay safe.

  466. >> Stay safe, everyone.

  467. You know what the religious leaders of

  468. the day, the Pharisees and the s what

  469. they call Jesus?

  470. They said, "How in the world can you f

  471. He calls himself a rabbi and he's a

  472. drunkard and a glutton." You want to

  473. know why they said that? Not because he

  474. was a drunkard or a glutton, but because

  475. when they saw him, he was hanging out

  476. with drunkards and glutton.

  477. >> Man, this guy hangs out with tax

  478. collectors and the stinky and the filthy

  479. and the dirty.

  480. You want to know the only criticism I've

  481. ever got from my type of evangelism

  482. is from overly legalistic Christians.

  483. Do you know that there's people in this

  484. room right now that I met in what many

  485. religious Christians would say is

  486. questionable atmosphere?

  487. Oh, look. He has his hand up.

  488. lost as a ball in high weeds, man.

  489. >> And he's sitting here saved today.

  490. >> Do you want to know the biggest ploy of

  491. the enemy, the strategy of the enemy

  492. against the church is to keep the church

  493. inside the church.

  494. We're called, catch this, to let the

  495. light shine in the darkness. But why is

  496. it we get in our little Christian huddle

  497. us for and no more and we have our

  498. little light and we only shine light

  499. where the light already is

  500. when the Bible says Jesus said to let

  501. your light shine in the darkness like a

  502. city on a hill.

  503. >> I'm going to preach it from the

  504. rooftops.

  505. >> Amen.

  506. >> I'm not going to go sin with the

  507. sinners, but I'll go hang with the

  508. sinners.

  509. And if I'm not saved enough to do that

  510. and not be negatively impacted,

  511. then I have the issue.

  512. I better get back to my notes. We're

  513. going to be here till two.

  514. Pastor Dan, we got to beat the Baptist

  515. to the restaurant.

  516. The devil is not afraid of your Sunday

  517. services.

  518. He's afraid of your Monday at work,

  519. your Tuesday afternoon,

  520. your Saturday morning.

  521. He's perfectly happy

  522. when you only let your light shine where

  523. there's already light.

  524. I think of that old phrase to march into

  525. hell for a heavenly cause. I think of

  526. the idea to take back what the devil

  527. stole.

  528. The gates of hell are a defensive

  529. structure.

  530. They don't attack you. They don't chase

  531. you.

  532. They don't come for you.

  533. They are set and established to hold

  534. others in bondage.

  535. And Jesus says those gates won't prevail

  536. against you.

  537. In other words, the gates are defensive

  538. and the church are supposed to be on

  539. offense.

  540. We got the ball, man. We're running it

  541. down the field.

  542. >> We're gaining ground. We're pushing the

  543. darkness back. The gates of hell shall

  544. not prevail against me

  545. >> because I am a carrier of something.

  546. >> Amen.

  547. >> I am the temple of the Holy Spirit and I

  548. have an assignment and devil,

  549. you better back on up.

  550. >> Gates of hell won't prevail against me.

  551. That means you're supposed to go in and

  552. that everything that hell has built is

  553. not strong enough to stop you.

  554. And the gates aren't the point. The

  555. people behind them are.

  556. >> Isaiah 61:1

    Isaiah 61:1

  557. and Jesus echoes this in the New

  558. Testament.

  559. Jesus said, "The spirit of the Lord is

  560. upon me because he has anointed me to

  561. proclaim liberty to the captives,

  562. to set at liberty those who are

  563. oppressed."

  564. And Jesus identified that as his job

  565. description

  566. and he handed it to you.

  567. He handed it to you.

  568. Proclaim liberty to the captives

  569. to set at liberty those who are

  570. oppressed.

  571. Revelation 1:18 talks about Jesus having

    Revelation 1:18

  572. the keys of death and of Hades.

  573. And when Christ was crucified on that

  574. cross and died before he ascended back

  575. to the father, when you study and dig a

  576. little bit, you see that Jesus went to

  577. the center of the earth

  578. and stole the keys of death and of hell.

  579. And Jesus didn't just

  580. go to hell, he robbed hell.

  581. >> Man, I picture that moment. Jesus got

  582. down there and said no. Grab those keys

  583. right out of your hand. Enough is

  584. enough.

  585. >> Hallelujah.

  586. >> And echoes what Moses said. Let my

  587. people go. Amen.

  588. That's the voice that we have.

  589. We have the keys.

  590. People are dying. People are stuck in a

  591. living hell.

  592. Hell is the fortress and we're designed

  593. to storm it. Can I say this? The church

  594. was never meant to be a bunker.

  595. >> You guys know the bunker mentality,

  596. right?

  597. >> Yeah. Church is meant to be a battering

  598. ram that destroys gates.

  599. Nothing will stop us from getting

  600. through.

  601. Jesus didn't rise again

  602. so that we could build us a really nice

  603. bunker

  604. and manage our comfort from the inside.

  605. just holding on till Christ returns.

  606. Come, Lord Jesus. Come,

  607. man. I got I got an assignment.

  608. There's still sinners out there that

  609. need to hear the message.

  610. He says, "On this rock, I will build my

  611. church, and the gates of hell shall not

  612. prevail against it." Listen to verse 19.

  613. Jesus said, "I will give you the keys of

  614. the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you

  615. bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.

  616. Whatever you loose on earth shall be

  617. loosed in heaven." What are keys for?

  618. Keys are used to open up what is locked

  619. or bound.

  620. It's not God's responsibility to unlock.

  621. He says, "Hey, I went and stole the

  622. keys, man. I've got them now. I'm giving

  623. them to you and you go use the keys. The

  624. problem is is we have millions of

  625. Christians on the planet that have the

  626. keys and keep them right in their pocket

  627. and walk around all sheepish.

  628. >> I don't want to offend.

  629. I don't want to I don't want to make

  630. waves.

  631. The gates of hell are on defense. I'm on

  632. offense.

  633. >> That means I'm offensive to darkness.

  634. I want to offend the devil.

  635. >> Matter of fact, it's a joy that I have.

  636. >> He's an idiot. I don't know if you guys

  637. know that. It doesn't take much to

  638. frustrate him. He I mean, gets all

  639. scrambled, upset.

  640. You have the keys.

  641. Number two is you're designed for

  642. authority.

  643. You're designed for authority. Luke 10

  644. portion of scripture where Jesus sends

  645. out 70 disciples.

  646. Catch this. It's not the 12. It's not

  647. the inner circle.

  648. 70 regular people. He sends them out two

  649. by two into every town. And then they

  650. come back with a report. Luke 10 and

  651. verse 17.

  652. They said this. They said, "Lord, even

  653. the demons are subject to us in your

  654. name."

  655. 70 ordinary people.

  656. Jesus sends them out and they come back

  657. like, man, it it worked.

  658. It worked, Jesus. I mean, you you said

  659. that you you all authority in heaven.

  660. You said to go and preach. I mean, you

  661. said it and we went out there and the

  662. devils, the demons are freaked out by

  663. us, man.

  664. Do you know what you carry?

  665. Do you know the authority that you have?

  666. Not just Peter, not just John, not the

  667. super elite 12. Let me say this. It's

  668. not just Pastor Jack. It's not just

  669. Pastor Dan. It's not just Pastor Ben.

  670. >> Not just Pastor Jessica.

  671. You have an assignment and you carry the

  672. power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  673. He said, 'Lord, even the demons are

  674. subject to us in your name. Verse 18,

  675. and he said to them, he says, I saw

  676. Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

  677. Behold,

  678. I have given you authority to tread upon

  679. serpents and scorpions,

  680. and over all the power of the enemy, and

  681. nothing shall hurt you.

  682. Nothing shall hurt you.

  683. One of my favorite scriptures,

  684. Isaiah 54, is that no weapon formed

  685. against me shall prosper.

  686. >> No weapon formed against me shall

  687. prosper.

  688. Every once in a while, I like that

  689. scripture so much I start walking around

  690. singing, Israel, hope, no weapon formed

  691. against me shall prosper. I ain't going

  692. to sing for you right now.

  693. But man, that's powerful because the

  694. devil keeps coming to tell me that

  695. that's going to mess you up. That's

  696. going to throw you off if you go there,

  697. if you do this, all these things. And

  698. the devil will not relent at weapons

  699. aimed at you, Christian.

  700. But no weapon formed against me shall

  701. prosper. I've been given authority over

  702. all the power of the enemy.

  703. No weapon formed against me shall

  704. prosper.

  705. So why are you scared to share your

  706. faith?

  707. If you believe that if all authority in

  708. heaven has been given to you, why are

  709. you so scared to share a testimony?

  710. Why are you nervous

  711. about starting a conversation in public

  712. with a non-believer?

  713. Oh, no. You'll talk to him about the

  714. weather. That's not what I'm talking

  715. about. But I'm talking about being the

  716. hands and feet of Jesus and sharing the

  717. good news of Jesus Christ. I can talk

  718. I've never met a stranger, man. I talk

  719. about the weather to anybody. I remember

  720. those early days, man, when when I'm

  721. starting to feel something. And I got to

  722. man I'm feeling like I'm supposed to

  723. tell this person maybe a little piece of

  724. my testimony. Maybe it'll speak a little

  725. life into them because the tongue has

  726. the power of life and death. So I'm I'm

  727. talking myself into it and man that

  728. anxiety starts coming and my head starts

  729. telling me

  730. who no no no no. We don't do that

  731. because the moment you talk about Jesus

  732. something shifts in the atmosphere

  733. doesn't it?

  734. >> That's right.

  735. >> And it's right where the enemy wanted

  736. me. Can I tell you, man, when I realized

  737. what I carry and what I'm designed for

  738. and I started walking in that to go

  739. therefore and make disciples of all

  740. nation to be a fisher of men to go and

  741. let my light shine in the darkness when

  742. I begin to just preach and teach and

  743. talk and testify when I be man I it

  744. feels like I'm the I'm the I'm the in

  745. the perfect fit. It's what I was made

  746. for. It's what you were made for.

  747. Romans chapter 1 and verse 16 Paul said,

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  748. "For I am not ashamed

  749. of the gospel."

  750. I am not ashamed

  751. of the gospel.

  752. I'm not ashamed

  753. of the gospel. You say, "Well, I'm I'm

  754. not either."

  755. What about in those certain

  756. circumstances, in those certain rooms

  757. when you're afraid to say what's

  758. supposed to be said?

  759. When you're afraid to stand up for

  760. Christ, when you're afraid to stand up

  761. for righteousness.

  762. Paul says, "I'm not ashamed of the

  763. gospel, for it is the power of God for

  764. salvation to everyone who believes, to

  765. the Jew first, also to the Greek."

  766. I'm not ashamed.

  767. I hold the keys. I have the authority. I

  768. storm the gates of hell.

  769. I preach the gospel.

  770. Number three in your notes is you're

  771. designed to demolish strongholds.

  772. You're designed

  773. to demolish strongholds.

  774. I want to go a little bit deeper

  775. on what we're actually storming.

  776. When we talk about storming the gates of

  777. hell,

  778. 2 Corinthians chapter 10 and verse

    2 Corinthians 10 chapter mention

  779. three,

  780. for the weapons of our warfare

  781. are not of the flesh,

  782. but have divine power to demolish

  783. strongholds.

  784. We say we

  785. >> we

  786. >> we destroy arguments and every lofty

  787. opinion raised against the knowledge of

  788. God and take every thought captive

  789. to obey Christ.

  790. Well, what's a stronghold? This is our

  791. assignment.

  792. Stronghold is a lie or a practice that

  793. you've believed so long that it feels

  794. like truth.

  795. It feels like truth.

  796. Somebody, whether it was a stepparent, a

  797. teacher, or the devil himself, told you

  798. you were worthless,

  799. and somehow you believed it so long that

  800. when God comes along and sends

  801. messengers to say, "Man, you're worthy.

  802. You're worth salvation. You're worth

  803. being loved. You're worth there's value

  804. there. You just simply cannot believe

  805. it. That's a stronghold.

  806. You're called to demolish strongholds.

  807. That's what I'm talking about when we

  808. storm the gates of hell.

  809. And you'll see those gates. If you're in

  810. tune with the spirit, man, you'll just

  811. be chatting with people and meeting new

  812. people and interacting with with

  813. different ones and you'll see that gate

  814. of hell.

  815. And that person's on the other side in a

  816. type of bondage.

  817. How do you

  818. demolish strongholds?

  819. Weapons of our warfare are not of the

  820. flesh,

  821. but they have divine power.

  822. Divine power.

  823. You're not going to intellectualize

  824. somebody out of the gates of hell.

  825. We've all tried.

  826. Divine power. We talked about it last

  827. week.

  828. power, the presence, the passion to

  829. demolish strongholds.

  830. We destroy those arguments and those

  831. lofty opinions raised

  832. against the knowledge of God.

  833. Those

  834. that are addicted,

  835. who've tried maybe several times to get

  836. free from addiction, but because of

  837. their lineage, because of their

  838. experiences, they just have taken that

  839. on as their identity.

  840. I'm just this. This is just who I am.

  841. And God says, "No, you're not."

  842. And so we demolish those strongholds

  843. with the power and the authority with

  844. the key to unlock them

  845. with the truth of God. Amen.

  846. >> Be a battering ram against the gates of

  847. hell. You're not an addict. You're

  848. loved. You're delivered. You're healed.

  849. You're set free. Tongue has the power of

  850. life and death. Speak life over them.

  851. There's people in this room right now

  852. that

  853. hearing all of this evangelistic talk

  854. going, "Pastor, that might be for you,

  855. but I don't think that's me.

  856. I think I'm scared to death to go do

  857. that."

  858. Or I'm too far gone or I've got my own

  859. stuff in my life. God can't use me.

  860. Those are gates.

  861. Those are walls that God wants to

  862. demolish in your life.

  863. So you know who you are and why you're

  864. here.

  865. Those gates and those walls aren't built

  866. out of concrete.

  867. They're built out of lies.

  868. Our weapons have divine power to

  869. demolish them.

  870. Not church power, not willpower,

  871. not positive thinking or your self-help

  872. book that you found on Amazon.

  873. Divine power.

  874. >> Amen.

  875. divine power.

  876. Evangelism is not sharing facts. It's

  877. demolishing lies.

  878. Preach the gospel.

  879. Tell the truth. You don't have to quote

  880. chapter and verse.

  881. You know the truth.

  882. Somebody starts to tell a lie about

  883. themselves, you tell the truth about

  884. them. You're loved by God. Yeah,

  885. >> God's right here with you. God's for

  886. you, not against you.

  887. >> Start to start to bring the battering

  888. ram to the conversation and begin to

  889. destroy those lies. And I got to tell

  890. you, it might take 20 years. It might

  891. take three seconds.

  892. >> Amen.

  893. >> I've had different ones that I was

  894. working on for years and years and

  895. years. just believing this sitting under

  896. this cloud of lies and this bondage and

  897. I just keep b using the battering ram

  898. and battering ram and battering ram and

  899. when you least expect it they'll call

  900. you because the Holy Spirit will

  901. minister to them and all those words

  902. that you spoke that were cracking the

  903. foundation of hell that was busting

  904. through the chains all of a sudden it

  905. began to click and the gate fell open

  906. and they'll come to you and say man you

  907. were right all along

  908. >> introduce me to this Jesus

  909. Isaiah 59-19. I'll close with this

  910. verse.

  911. Maybe the worship team should get up

  912. here.

  913. Get Pastor Mark a shepherd's hook. He

  914. can just yank me off.

  915. Isaiah 59:19 is a favorite text of mine.

    Isaiah 59:19

  916. It says when, say, when.

  917. >> When the enemy shall come in,

  918. when

  919. the enemy shall come in like a flood,

  920. the spirit of the Lord shall raise a

  921. standard against him.

  922. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit.

  923. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

  924. And when the enemy comes in like a

  925. flood, the spirit of the Lord raises a

  926. standard against it. Like a fly. Think

  927. of that book, Acts chapter 2, when the

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  928. Holy Spirit showed like a rushing mighty

  929. wind.

  930. And we're so in tune with God. We have

  931. right relationship with God. We've been

  932. seeking God and chasing after God and

  933. reading the words of God

  934. that when the lie comes, when the enemy

  935. comes in, there's this thing on the

  936. inside like a flood. We just raise a

  937. standard against it.

  938. We don't get tossed to and fro with

  939. every wind of doctrine.

  940. We've been through some things.

  941. We have a foundation of truth.

  942. Look at your neighbor and say, "I

  943. understand the assignment now.

  944. Praise you, Jesus."

  945. When the enemy comes in like a flood,

  946. the spirit of the Lord will raise up a

  947. standard against him. Every time you

  948. speak truth into a lie, you're tearing

  949. down a wall.

  950. You're breaking your battering ram.

  951. You're demolishing strongholds.

  952. Praise you, Jesus.

  953. I just think we were made for more. I

  954. told you last week, I get bored in

  955. church

  956. when church is just church.

  957. We just got our little programs and our

  958. systems and our neat things. And

  959. I think we have that in us

  960. because the church is designed for more.

  961. Amen.

  962. >> I think we're designed for more. And I

  963. got to tell you, Grace Summit's doing a

  964. great job.

  965. >> We're doing a great job.

  966. There's a power on the inside of you.

  967. And we've had enough plastic

  968. Christianity. We've had enough seeker

  969. friendly movements. We've had we've had

  970. enough systems and programs. Well, what

  971. God's looking for is a few good men.

  972. Amen.

  973. God's looking for somebody to say, "Man,

  974. I I I get it. I I know this. I'm going

  975. to send me, Lord. I'll go tell them.

  976. Man, you wrestle with whatever you got

  977. to wrestle with to get your flesh to sit

  978. down and shut up so that you can go tell

  979. people about Jesus.

  980. Amen.

  981. Let's stand to our feet all over this

  982. house.

  983. >> You were designed by God on purpose,

  984. with purpose.

  985. You're not designed just to survive as a

  986. believer, but you're designed to advance

  987. the kingdom.

  988. You're not designed to just be

  989. defensive, but offensive.

  990. You're not designed just to feel the

  991. power.

  992. You're designed by God to use the power.

  993. >> In just a moment, I'm going to open this

  994. altar.

  995. And today is a little bit more of a

  996. commissioning than anything else.

  997. You don't need Bible college.

  998. You don't need certificates on the wall.

  999. Master of divinity,

1000. finally qualified to tell somebody, get

  1001. saved, man.

1002. I I'll just say it. Most MD MDs that

1003. I've ever met are the least effective in

1004. the kingdom cuz they sit with their

1005. other scholars and theology and they're

1006. splitting hairs. I go, "Man, get saved.

1007. We have a job to do, man.

1008. >> We got places to go."

  1009. people to see.

1010. >> It's okay that you got education, but do

1011. you have the power? Do you have the

1012. heart of Jesus Christ? Do you know the

1013. assignment? Are your feet getting out

1014. there going and making disciples of all

  1015. nations?

  1016. Today's a little bit more of a

1017. commissioning much like you would see in

1018. the early church. If you got saved, then

  1019. go.

1020. And we're going to close with worship.

1021. But I want to invite you if you're in

  1022. this place going, man, I don't I don't

1023. think I knew the assignment yesterday.

  1024. Or if you're going, I don't think I have

  1025. been fulfilling the assignment.

1026. I want to invite you to come to an altar

1027. and our prayer team's going to be up

1028. here and we're going to lay hands on you

1029. and pray a simple prayer to commission

  1030. you and send you.

1031. Maybe you're in this place and you're

1032. going, "Man, I think I'm the one behind

  1033. the gates of hell.

  1034. I I think I'm the one with some

1035. strongholds and some lies, and I know

1036. I'm not real sure how to get out, but

1037. but but I got to tell you, if you come

1038. to this altar, there's a few good men up

1039. here that can help kick down the gates

1040. of hell and get you out of that.

1041. Jesus is in this place,

1042. and I refuse to shrink back. I will walk

1043. in the authority of heaven."

  1044. >> Amen.

1045. storm the gates of hell. And the third

1046. person in this room, you might be

1047. listening to this and you go, "Man, I

1048. don't even think I know Jesus after

  1049. listening to that."

1050. If you're in this place and you need to

1051. give your life to Jesus Christ,

1052. in just a moment, I'm going to ask you

  1053. to come forward.

1054. >> And I'm going to be standing up here.

1055. Pastor Jack's going to be standing up

1056. here and Pastor Dan's going to be

1057. standing up here. We're going to do it a

1058. little bit different this morning, this

  1059. afternoon.

1060. And if you're in here and you need to

1061. give your life to Christ, whether it's

1062. the first time or the 500th time, I'm

1063. going to ask you to come find

1064. either Pastor Dan, Pastor Jack, or

1065. myself and say, "I want to give my life

1066. to Jesus." And we're going to pray a

  1067. simple prayer with you

1068. to make Jesus Christ Lord of your life.

1069. Pray with me. Father, we thank you,

1070. Lord, for your Holy Spirit.

1071. Father, I thank you, God, that you've

1072. called us for more, God. That you've

1073. called us more than conquerors.

  1074. Lord, I'm thankful that you've called

1075. us, equipped us, and now you send us.

1076. And Father, I pray that we would bear

1077. fruit for the kingdom of God. Lord, that

1078. this house would be a house of prayer.

1079. That this house would be recognized as a

1080. place where sinners become saints.

  1081. Saints become disciples

1082. and disciples make other disciples.

  1083. >> Praise you, Jesus.

1084. >> Thank you, Lord. Father, I thank you,

1085. God, that you're taking the elitism off

1086. of ministry. That all of us are called,

1087. all of us are being sent by you, all of

1088. us have the same power.

1089. the uniqueness of what you've called us

1090. to. God, I pray that you would allow us

1091. to be effective for the building of your

  1092. kingdom.

  1093. Thank you, Lord.

1094. Father, I'm praying that a whole lot of

1095. gates of hell are demolished this week

1096. and next week and next month and next

  1097. year, God,

1098. that we storm the gates of hell and

1099. knock it over and let the people out

1100. under the authority of Jesus.

1101. Father, we thank you for it, Lord.

1102. Pray that every person that needs this

1103. altar makes their way to this altar and

1104. that you do in them what only you can

1105. do. God, thank you for it in Jesus name.

1106. Amen. The altars are open. Won't you

  1107. come?
