Let's lift our bibles up, say this together, say heavenly Father, I'm glad to be here.
-
I rejoice at the power of God, at the love of God, at the faithfulness of God.
-
Today I'll be taught the Word of God.
-
My heart is open to receive revelation upon which my faith is built, and my faith is growing exceedingly, and so are the good results.
-
In Jesus' name, amen, praise God.
-
Let's turn in our bibles to the book of Acts, and I've been reading in the book of Acts recently in my normal reading, and I wanna read out of Acts 27.
-
I could read the whole chapter but I won't.
-
Just I'm gonna pick and choose a few verses through the middle of it, gonna give you the where we're headed with it.
-
I believe it'll help you, help all of us.
-
Acts 27, verse one.
-
And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy this is talking about Paul.
-
He's a prisoner arrested by the Romans.
-
Under false pretenses they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners under one name, julius, a centurion of Augustus, band, verse six.
-
And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy and he put us there on.
-
And when we had sailed slowly, many days and scarce, would come over against Nittus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmonae and, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called the Fair Havens Nigh, where unto was the city of Lacea.
-
Now, when much time was spent and when sailing was now dangerous because the fast was now already past, paul admonished them and said unto them sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the leading and the ship, but also of our lives.
-
Nevertheless, the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship more than those things which were spoken by Paul Verse 13,.
-
And when the South wind blew softly, supposing they had obtained their purpose, loosing from there, they sailed close by Crete, but not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind called Eurachladon Verse 20,.
-
And when neither sun nor stars and many days appeared and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away Verse 27,.
-
But when the 14th night was come, that's a long time to be in a kind of condition like that.
-
14 days of not thinking you're gonna make it, that's a long time.
-
And when the 14th night was come and we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight, the shipment deemed that they drew near to some country and they sounded and found it 20 fathoms.
-
And when they had gone a little further, they sounded again and they found it 15 fathoms.
-
Then, fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern and wished for the day.
-
Everybody say four anchors, and so that's what I wanna talk about tonight.
-
Today, rather, and give you a message entitled Holy Ghost Anchors.
-
And, of course, if you keep reading and I sign that as homework today just keep reading the whole chapter.
-
And they did survive.
-
And it was a miracle, tremendous miracle.
-
And we're saying that song.
-
He's a way maker.
-
I'm telling you he's a light in the darkness.
-
I'll tell you he's a light in the darkness, holy Ghost Anchors.
-
You know, paul was sailing to Rome and he was appointed that by the Holy Ghost.
-
Jesus himself appeared to Paul in Acts 2311 and said be of good cheer, paul, for thou must appear before Rome.
-
As you've given your testimony in Jerusalem, so shall you bear witness in Rome.
-
And it was God's will for him to be a witness to Caesar, the ruling emperor of the entire known world at that time.
-
And well, I thought that would have been a Jesus anchor.
-
Well, the Holy Ghost is the one that if Paul saw Jesus, it was a gift of the spirit.
-
See, we live in the New Testament.
-
So if you ever saw Jesus, if he ever appeared to you, it would be 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, the gift of discerning of spirits.
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
And so everything that he received, he received by the spirit of God, and you know.
-
That brings me to the question.
-
I mean, whenever God speaks to you or God has something for you to do, you can expect a whole lot of opposition and the most more spectacular something, I mean some of you, your prayer warriors.
-
We have a lot of great prayer warriors in this church, you know, and sometimes they see things out ahead of time.
-
You know, like Paul, he said I perceive that this void is gonna be with great danger and hurt, not only of the cargo but of our lives.
-
Hey, guess what?
-
The cargo didn't make it to Rome, the cargo is in the Mediterranean Sea somewhere, and the ship, but the 276 people all survived.
-
And so he picked up something he didn't say.
-
The Holy Ghost told him.
-
He said I perceive.
-
Well, who's I?
-
Well, that's his spirit.
-
All of us are supernatural beings, we live in a body and we have a mind, we have a will, we have an intellect, we have our soul and our body.
-
But your body is not you.
-
Your spirit is you, and your spirit can pick up things from the Holy Spirit that also lives on the inside.
-
And that's why he said I perceive something bad, wrong, and you know, women call it women's intuition.
-
Well, maybe I don't know, but really, if you have that, it's because the Holy Ghost lives in you.
-
And so you know we have anchors.
-
What is an anchor?
-
Well, an anchor will stabilize you.
-
They were so tossed with this huge storm they threw four anchors out and it stabilized the ship until they could figure out where they were and what they were gonna do.
-
They had some instructions that I didn't read.
-
We'll talk about them later.
-
But Paul heard from an angel during the voyage that they were gonna be cast upon a certain island.
-
So they were looking for that land and they found that the ocean wasn't as deep.
-
There was 20 fattoms.
-
Then it was 15 fattoms, and so they decided to stick right there, unless the wind would blow them further out away from that.
-
So they stabilized.
-
Everybody say stabilization.
-
See, we need Holy Ghost anchors in our lives, to stabilize us.
-
That's what I'm talking about today, and so I've got four of them here.
-
They had four.
-
We've got four that I wanna talk about.
-
You know, hebrews, just keep your place there at Acts and turn over to Hebrews real quick.
-
Hebrews 6 talks about an anchor.
-
Hebrews 6, 17,.
-
We're in God, willing more abundantly to show under the airs of promise.
-
Everybody shout, that's me.
-
The immutability or the unchangeableness of His counsel confirmed it by an oath that by two immutable things say His promise and His oath.
-
God made a promise and then he swore by Himself and that's an oath.
-
In other words, he said if I don't perform my covenant, then I'll cease to be God.
-
Well, guess what?
-
He's still God, isn't he?
-
He didn't leave, he didn't die.
-
What was it?
-
Look magazine said in 1960, god died, god is dead.
-
Put it on the front cover God is dead.
-
No, got newsflash Look magazine.
-
They didn't.
-
They did, they died, but anyway.
-
So he said that by two mutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation.
-
Who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us, which hope we have as an anchor of the soul.
-
See, your mind is squirrely.
-
Your mind is going to think all kinds of thoughts, especially if you're out on the ocean, like these guys were.
-
But see, that's not you.
-
You know a lot of times people they get fearful.
-
They watch 24 hours of television and all they want to talk about is the most horrible things that they can find.
-
Why do they do that?
-
Because they find that that attracts viewers.
-
And if they attract viewers, then that means that they'll have a lot of sponsors.
-
A lot of people will sponsor the broadcast.
-
If nobody watched your newscast, guess what?
-
You're not going to have any sponsors.
-
So it's all about money.
-
Have you wondered why everything is about the COVID-19?
-
Up until there was riots and looting.
-
Then everything was stopped and all you're read about was the terrible, horrible stuff.
-
Every cop in the world is a murderer.
-
Defund the cops.
-
That's all you heard for an entire two weeks.
-
I'm against that.
-
By the way.
-
We're going to fund our police and they need to be protected.
-
I've forgotten how many have died in the last.
-
They've been ambushed.
-
They're being slaughtered Because politicians throw them under the bus.
-
They're the convenient scapegoat.
-
A little while later, we're going to pray for our police officers.
-
We have them in our congregation.
-
I'll tell you, they do a great job.
-
I know there's some bad cops, just like there's a bad den.
-
You know, I went to a bad dentist one time.
-
It wasn't a lot of fun.
-
He used a hammer and a chisel to take out my wisdom tooth and here's this pill.
-
Now you take this pill when you get home.
-
Well, by the time I got home I thought my jaw was going to fall out of my and I still had 18, 20 miles to go and my jaw is going like this because he that was a bad dentist.
-
You know, well, I still go to the dentist just because I had a bad dentist.
-
I've had bad attorneys.
-
I've had bad they're bad 8 CPAs.
-
We I've been a home builder 25 years.
-
We've been pastoring this church 26 years.
-
Across that time A 50-some-odd years of business experience you come across people that are just bad.
-
But you don't condemn everybody on the force of one thing, right?
-
Amen?
-
Well, I'm off of my subject, but anyway, praise God, we need an anchor, he said, whose hope we have is an anchor to our soul.
-
And just because your mind is afraid, just because your knees are knocking and you've got sweaty palms, that doesn't mean that you are fearful.
-
You are a spirit being.
-
God didn't give you the spirit of fear, so learn to.
-
That's a whole other message.
-
Learn to lean on your spirit.
-
That's what Paul did.
-
He leaned on his spirit.
-
He didn't go by anything.
-
He didn't go by the south wind blowing softly.
-
He didn't go by the circumstances.
-
He leaned on his spirit and in his spirit he picked up that there was danger ahead and he spoke it out.
-
And I believe that's the reason why God was obligated to save all those people, because he did warn them.
-
And the angel came and appeared to him and said well, you know, paul, be a good chair.
-
God has given you all those that sail with you.
-
See, he was actually the captain of the ship.
-
They didn't know it, but he was the captain and they were sailing with him.
-
276 people were sailing with him.
-
So, anyway, we're talking about these Holy Ghost anchors that will stabilize you, and so we've been talking about the very first one already, that number one the Holy Ghost will show you things to come.
-
Jesus said in John 16, 13, the Holy Spirit, the comforter, will show you things to come.
-
Does it make you a prophet?
-
I mean, it doesn't make you some special thing.
-
All of us have that special third person of the Godhead on the inside.
-
Learn to lean on your spirit and on him, because he'll show you things to come, he'll give you warning, he'll alert you, he'll give you warning, direction, confirmation.
-
We seek so many times the opinions of men when we have the most expert being in the universe, living on the inside, he's the genius.
-
The Holy Spirit is a genius.
-
He knows about everything, he knows all about it and he can help you.
-
Paul said I perceive.
-
And then, after all, the hope was gone.
-
It said an angel came to him.
-
That's a gift of the spirit.
-
He saw an angel.
-
An angel is a spirit being.
-
If you ever see one, that means the gift of discerning of spirits is operating in your life.
-
First Corinthians, chapter 12.
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
And then he heard the angels and said you know it's going to be okay.
-
You're going to be a lord of wisdom, future, future.
-
So he told him the fear.
-
You're going to be okay, but you've got to stay with the ship.
-
Don't let him get off the ship.
-
Stay with the ship, but you've got to be cast upon a certain island.
-
So he gave him some hints of what they needed to do.
-
The angel did Fear not, and everybody was afraid who wouldn't be.
-
So this storm wasn't God's will, but he invaded the storm.
-
You know, whatever you're going through, you didn't send it, but he can invade it and turn it for your benefit.
-
I don't know who's going through what today, but I know in my spirit people are facing some things in their lives and you're almost at your wits end.
-
You've been praying, you've been trying to find exactly what you're supposed to do.
-
You know God's got a way of escape for you, and so the Holy Ghost will show you things to come.
-
The storm was invaded by God and he stabilized Paul.
-
To carry out his will, he had to get somebody on that ship that would get out of their fear and start listening for the instructions that they needed.
-
After that, some of the sailors said we're getting off this boat and they threw the life rafts overboard.
-
They were going to get in the life rafts.
-
He said no, don't leave.
-
You can't be saved unless you stay with the ship.
-
So they cut the ropes and let the boats fall off of the.
-
He said eat, you guys are starving.
-
You've been fasting and everything else.
-
Eat, you need to eat.
-
You need to.
-
You're gonna need some strength for the next part of this story here.
-
He was running them like the captain did.
-
They had a captain, they had a centurion, but Paul was in charge.
-
I tell you, god can put you in charge when you are connected with the Holy Ghost.
-
It's an anchor which leaves me to the second part of this.
-
The Holy Ghost will impact those around you.
-
The Holy Ghost will impact those around you Many times.
-
The instructions that you're hearing for yourself are gonna impact and help other people around you and that are connected to you.
-
In Paul's case, it was 276 people that were sailing on that ship.
-
There was a captain, there was a centurion, there were other prisoners and there were the ship crew total of 276 people and, as it turned out, all of their lives depended on Paul.
-
Depended on him hearing and him obeying and him following instructions.
-
Are you with me?
-
So you know, listen, this is absolutely critical to be filled with and controlled by the Holy Ghost.
-
It's not even arguable.
-
A lot of the trouble that we have in the church is because people have thrown away the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
-
They're too dignified to speak in tongues.
-
They're too dignified, you know.
-
They don't wanna be identified with the Holy Rollers.
-
Most people don't even know what a Holy Roller is.
-
But you know, I've been one.
-
I've done a little role in myself.
-
And I'm not talking about rock and roll.
-
I'm talking about when the Holy Ghost comes on you.
-
Sometimes you'll do kinda strange things.
-
Some of you are looking at me like a cow at a new gate.
-
Well, if you've been stuck in a church that talk that speaking in tongues is of the devil, we still have people saying that today, right now, I thought that that kinda went away, but no, it didn't.
-
They're still around saying that people who speak in tongues are giving themselves over to demonic powers.
-
Actually, it's the other way around.
-
It's you that are listening to the devil and you're disseminating what you're getting from the devil as if God is saying it.
-
But God didn't say it.
-
So just mark them.
-
Whenever you come across a preacher like that, don't read any further.
-
Do you dive into a garbage bin to find a piece of fried chicken?
-
No, you go to Popeyes.
-
Hopefully they have something a little fresher than down at the back of the store.
-
All were saved.
-
Who sailed with Paul?
-
All of them?
-
Just think about that.
-
276 people.
-
You got this storm raging and I mean they're just knowing they're gonna die and they all survived because of Paul.
-
The Holy Ghost will show you things to come.
-
The Holy Ghost will impact those around you.
-
I like what Smith Wigglesworth said at the one time.
-
He said it seems that I've gone through a lot of things for the benefit of others and I read that it really set me free, because as a pastor you do go through some things and not all of them are fun, not all of them are just lovely and wonderful and make you go dance and twirl and everything else.
-
I mean some of them are kind of tough and heavy and but when I read that it helped me because you know a lot of things that we go through, we go through for the benefit of others.
-
We're connected.
-
Your victory is not just for you, your victory is for everyone that's watching you closely and they know a little bit of they don't know it all, but they know a little bit about what you're going through.
-
And when suddenly your head pops up above the storm and you're victorious over that man, I'm telling you what I mean.
-
They are watching.
-
Are you with me now?
-
A lot of things now.
-
God didn't send it Now, don't get, don't say well, all things happen for a reason.
-
No, that's a no.
-
The devil sent it, but God invaded it and God won't waste it and God is going to lift you up and God is going to make you a witness, give you a testimony.
-
Just think of Paul's testimony after this.
-
Think of the fearlessness that he had.
-
Man, he didn't back up and he's made just like you and I.
-
He had the same apprehensions.
-
He had the same thing in the pit of his stomach.
-
He had the same temptation to be afraid.
-
Of course he did.
-
You'd have to be insane not to be afraid on a sea like that and not to be afraid of how it was going to happen.
-
But he had been stabilized by a Holy Ghost anchor.
-
All right, number three the Holy Ghost will show you a way out of the storm.
-
It's one thing to be strengthened inside the storm, but you know, everybody wants to get out of it and the Holy Ghost showed him away.
-
And so in verse, have you still got Acts 27?
-
Verse 26.
-
Verse 22.
-
Paul is talking to him, verse 21,.
-
Let's look at this.
-
This is funny.
-
I like this.
-
He's saying I told you.
-
So See, it's okay, sometimes you can tell.
-
I told you so.
-
So Paul gets up and says in verse 21, after long absence.
-
Absence means that they didn't eat meat.
-
If you're a sailor and you're working that hard, these are sailing vessels and everything it takes a lot of energy.
-
So when you're not eating any meat, I mean you're weak.
-
So after long absence, they were trying to fast their way into the favor with the God.
-
I mean they were not the God of Paul, but they were just trying to be worthy of deliverance.
-
A lot of people like that today.
-
They think they can fast their way to get a healing or fast their way to get a blessing.
-
No, you don't have to do that.
-
Believe God's word.
-
Fasting has gotten a totally different purpose.
-
But after long absence, paul stood forth in the midst of them and said sirs, you should have harkened unto me and not have loosed from creed and his harming laws.
-
I tried to tell you.
-
You wouldn't listen.
-
It's not my fault.
-
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer.
-
Now they didn't be of good cheer, are you kidding?
-
All hope that we've been saved has been taken away.
-
What do you mean?
-
Be of good cheer?
-
You think we have a death wish?
-
For there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
-
For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve, saying fear not, paul, thou must be brought before Caesar and lo, god hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
-
I just love, I love the way that's put.
-
God has given you all them that sail with thee.
-
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer, for I believe, god, that it shall be even as it was told me.
-
Man, how many times have I said that?
-
I've had to say that in the face of the most contrary circumstance.
-
Well, you know what I believe, god.
-
It'll be just like he told me.
-
I just believe, God, it'll be just like what he told me.
-
The doctor said you have cancer.
-
Well, I tell you what I believe, god, that it'll be just like what he told me.
-
He told me himself bear my sicknesses, took mine for me, and so, albeit, we must be cast upon a certain island.
-
See, that was a key.
-
That was a key.
-
That was a place where it was not as deep.
-
So that was a key.
-
So they started sounding how deep it was and sending out the measuring rod and finding it out.
-
And then he had told them to stay in the ship no life boats.
-
And so the Holy Ghost stabilized Paul to bring him and those that sailed with him through the storm there again.
-
Not only did he get out of the storm, everybody that sailed with him See, they're at that impact.
-
I said that impact.
-
We have a tremendous impact, more than we think.
-
There's a lot of people, when we try to talk to them right now, that roll their eyes.
-
They might even befriend you or unfriend you on Facebook when you try to give them some facts.
-
People don't want facts right now.
-
They just want to make every decision based on emotion and on fear and on anger and everything else.
-
This is the most you know, but we've been through terrible times in this country before.
-
If the church will rise up and be a leader, like Paul was, there can be some stabilization come to our nation and Lord knows we need some stabilization, we need some anchors.
-
We need maybe more than four.
-
Praise God, the Holy Ghost will show you a way out of the storm.
-
First Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 13.
-
Paul said you know, there's no temptation, test or trial or storm taking you, but such is common to men.
-
But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted, tested or tried or stormed on above what you're able to bear, but will, with that storm, make a way of escape.
-
Way maker, make a way of escape that you may be able to bear up under it.
-
The devil is limited to things that are natural to man, and God's answer is is is common to God.
-
We have supernatural answers to natural storms.
-
Are you with me now, years ago, when Gladys Dyer was still at Lakewood?
-
We were still at Lakewood, we were very busy, and Claire had gone off to college A&M, and so left Jay and Jay with us at home.
-
And so we were coming back from church on a Sunday morning and we stopped by a restaurant over in Greens Point called Fajitas, and obviously they don't serve lobster there.
-
It's Fajitas is what they have, but Fajitas boy, they had really good.
-
I don't think they're in business anymore, but anyway Fajitas.
-
And so it's right there down from Greens Point, and so we had a really great meal.
-
Some people at Lakewood were there too, and I've waited on the check and sent Jay and Jay took my keys and went out to the car to start the car, get it cooled down.
-
Gladys then went out to the car and I waited for the check and a few minutes later check finally came.
-
I'm fixing to leave and Jay comes.
-
Oh, dad come.
-
Mom fell, hurt herself.
-
So I went out in the parking lot and Gladys was laying in the parking lot and she had come off the curb out of the restaurant into the parking lot and she had stumbled and fell on her left knee and broke her kneecap half into.
-
I mean, it broke it in too, and so I prayed over first thing, laid my hands on her knee and I put that kneecap back together.
-
It just snapped right back in place and at first I started praising.
-
God looked like an instant miracle and I kept feeling it and I couldn't feel any crack in it or anything.
-
It just went right back together and so I picked her up and it separated and so I put her in the car and we went to the emergency room in Tombaul.
-
I tried to figure out where to go.
-
Tombaul, holy Spirit just said Tombaul.
-
So I went to Tombaul.
-
I've never been there before and it was no wait.
-
We walked right in doctor, looked at her, x-rayed her yeah, you're gonna have to see an orthopedic surgeon.
-
You're gonna have to have surgery to put that back together.
-
So there's a real clean break.
-
You should have a successful surgery because there's no jagged edges, it'll go right back.
-
And I said, doc, we're ministers and we're believers.
-
We believe in supernatural healing.
-
How long can we?
-
I wanna give God a chance to heal her supernaturally without surgery.
-
How long do we have before that is not gonna work.
-
He said we got three weeks to a month, because after that the bone is gonna start putting little feelers out and it's not gonna go back together cleanly and you're gonna have problems.
-
I said, thank you, I just that's all I needed to know.
-
And so we did believe God.
-
But it just didn't happen and she had to have the surgery.
-
Well, we had no insurance, we had no money because I mean, when I paid the, I think the emergency room wasn't at $400.
-
I don't know what it'd be now 4,000, but it was just $400, which is a miracle, and we could pay that.
-
And then it emptied my bank account.
-
We had nothing.
-
And so she had the surgery and I just I didn't know.
-
I don't even remember how we paid the bill.
-
We put it all for a good while and the doctor and all of that doctors, the surgeon, the.
-
It was an outpatient surgery and so I started praying and God says you know, find out who owns the building and talk to their insurance company.
-
So I went to the restaurant, talked to the manager.
-
He remembered me, felt so bad.
-
I said I'm not blaming anybody, I'm just saying we don't have insurance and I want the insurance company of the building because I know they do carry insurance and I'm pretty sure they'll pay our expenses.
-
He said well, my insurance only covers our footprint and so it'll be the owner of the strip center.
-
I said who is that?
-
And he gave me the name and they office to cross there in one of those big buildings in Greens Point complex.
-
So I made an appointment, went up there and talked to them.
-
They didn't like it.
-
They didn't, you know, thought I was a typical deadbeat.
-
So you gotta humble yourself.
-
You're gonna find you can't be.
-
You gotta have a thick skin and a tender heart.
-
But I knew I was right.
-
I knew that the Holy Ghost put this plan.
-
I said I want your insurance company.
-
Please, if you make me go hire an attorney, I will.
-
I'll sue you and I'll sue everybody.
-
I don't wanna do that I just want our medical bills paid.
-
That's what I want.
-
So she gave me her insurance agent or insurance company, so it was in Minnesota or something I start calling them.
-
It took months.
-
I finally got a little check here and a little check there and finally by the time the second surgery she had the surgery, wired it, but station still wired.
-
I'm talking about Holy Ghost anchors now.
-
I had to have an anchor.
-
Glad I had to have an anchor.
-
Are you with me now?
-
I mean, god didn't send that storm, it was just an accident, but it impacted our finances, it impacted her health.
-
And here she is, she had.
-
We just barely paid the surgeon in the hospital.
-
I don't know how we paid them Finally got a little money, part of payment, and that helped us a little bit.
-
And so by the time the second surgery came around, they just said no, we're not doing anymore.
-
And it's like pulling tea and you'd call and they wouldn't be in and then they wouldn't call you back.
-
You know it was the same old thing.
-
I learned a lesson, by the way.
-
This, this impact you because if you ever have something like that, just save yourself time and find you an attorney, because it's a big.
-
They have attorneys, and so attorneys talk to other attorneys, but you talk and do an attorney, you get nowhere.
-
So you need somebody to be your advocate.
-
So, anyway, I was to that point.
-
I said, well, god, they haven't paid all of it and we're still got a second surgery to pay for.
-
The second surgery was to pull the wire out and you know, and also she never had any, wouldn't have money for rehab and to this day her leg is affected, and that's the same leg that she broke a hip years later after that, and that was part of the reason that leg has always been weak.
-
It's impacted her health for a long, long time.
-
That's what I'm saying.
-
Listen, don't put up with the devil stealing from you.
-
There's a way out.
-
And so I said, well, god, we need an attorney.
-
I have absolutely no idea, but we need a personal injury attorney.
-
I don't know any of them, but I need a good one.
-
I need a junkyard dog.
-
See, I've already got that revelation.
-
You don't need a Christian attorney, because you're not suing people in the church or suing them down at the courthouse, so you need a junkyard dog.
-
Do you know what junkyard dog does?
-
It bites and it doesn't let go.
-
Do you know a good Christian attorney?
-
I'm sure there are some great Christian attorneys, but for this purpose I need a junkyard dog.
-
Thank you, if he happens to be a Christian, fine.
-
So anyway, I didn't know who to call.
-
I didn't know what to do.
-
I looked in the phone book.
-
Back then we had yellow pages.
-
Anybody still have a yellow page?
-
Go ahead, fess up.
-
Now You're still looking the yellow pages.
-
Come on, it's 21st century, come on, it's 2020.
-
Anyway, so I'm just joking, go ahead.
-
So there's just so many attorneys I don't know who to call.
-
So that night I had a dream and in the dream I was building houses in West University at the time.
-
So in the dream I'm jogging down a street that I looked I think it was Buffalo Speedway Jogging.
-
Yeah, I know it sounds crazy.
-
I thought it was a pizza dream at first, because it's unlike me to ever jog.
-
I don't like wasting my legs on jogging.
-
But I was jogging in West University and I don't remember what street.
-
But anyway, I came up on a cross street and the cross street had a sign.
-
It was named Cruise C-R-U-Z Cruise Street, and there is no Cruise Street in West.
-
So I turned on that street and went down the street and it turned into an alley, it turned into a dark little tunnel, I think, and I'm still jogging.
-
And then there's this ATM machine and it's blaring something out with a video screen and there's voices on it and I stop and it's an advertisement for something, but I'm not sure what, and in the ad it says contact David.
-
And then I didn't hear the last name.
-
So now in the dream, I've got Cruise Street and I've heard David and I woke up and I'm sitting there in the dream and I'm thinking is this a pizza dream?
-
This is a nutty dream.
-
I said well, what have I got to lose?
-
Like Trump told the blacks in 2016,.
-
What have you got to lose?
-
Why don't you vote for me?
-
What have you got to lose?
-
And that's kind of what my what have I got to lose?
-
Now my hand started sweating.
-
I'm nervous.
-
I'm opening the yellow pages, I'm going down the attorney section and I go down Cruise and I find one, david.
-
There's a lot of Cruises, but I found one, david Cruise.
-
His office is on Buffalo Speedway, which is right there in Westview, right across from West University.
-
And I'm blinking and I'm nervous.
-
I call his number.
-
I said can you connect me to the secretary of David Cruise?
-
Yes, hold, and then the lady gets on.
-
Yes, I said are you a David Cruises secretary?
-
Yes, I said, may I ask, is he happened to be a personal injury attorney?
-
Well, yes, he is.
-
I said, thank you, I need an appointment.
-
And I got an appointment.
-
A couple of weeks, gladys and I show up at the appointment right there across from Westview, on the other side of the freeway from West University, and we go into his office.
-
He ushers as a big old guy, a big, tall, good-looking guy.
-
We sit down across from him.
-
He has a corner office.
-
I'm looking through the glass, I'm seeing where I'm building houses it's all right there through the picture windows and I start grinning.
-
I'm just grinning because I know the Holy Ghost has been an anchor for us.
-
He has stabilized us and he has given us the right person and I can't wait.
-
I have a whole folder full of information, all of my invoices, all of my conversations with the insurance company, the people that I talk to and all of this pictures of the curb.
-
I went out and there wasn't any yellow paint on it.
-
It was kind of a dangerous situation.
-
I was going from every angle and but he didn't even want to hear that.
-
He said well, may I ask you a question?
-
He said how did you come to choose me?
-
Don't you love it?
-
When that happened and I really started grinning and I said are you sure you want to know?
-
He said, well, absolutely so.
-
I told him the whole story and halfway through my story his eyes welled up with tears and he was dobbing his eyes with a handkerchief.
-
It touched him so much and, come to find out, it reminded him when he was a child, four or five years old.
-
His mother would send him next door to the little grocery store.
-
Back then you could buy groceries on credit, so you'd just sign for it and come back.
-
So he's just a little boy, four or five years old, but his mother would send him to get a sack full of groceries and he'd just X and that was on credit, and a little man that owned the store would wait on him and he and that old man kind of got to be friends and he would always make sure he had the right groceries to take home to mama.
-
And then one night he had a dream that that man had died and his mother said well, go next door.
-
And mama, I had a dream that he died.
-
Oh no, just go.
-
And when he got to the store he realized and he found out the guy had died and he felt so.
-
And when I told him this dream, it reminded him that God loved him enough to give him advanced warning as a little boy of something that would going to upset him.
-
And he never really quite understood.
-
You know, he's Catholic, but he didn't really understand.
-
But when I told him that dream, I mean it really hit him Because he knew that he was chosen from God to represent.
-
You can't hardly do better than that, folks.
-
I mean, not only did he represent, not only did he get all our bills paid, but we got a lot extra on top of that.
-
I say a lot.
-
Our part of it.
-
He had 40%, we had 60% because he took it on consignment, on a percentage basis, so it didn't cost us anything.
-
I think we got 15,000 extra out of it, which was a lot of money for us.
-
And those, come on, lift your hands, praise God.
-
I'll tell you God, the Holy Ghost is an anchor.
-
He's an anchor in time of trouble.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And lastly, the Holy Ghost will protect you, he'll protect you.
-
See, because those guys wanted to get off of the boat early, he said don't, if they actually stayed with the ship, you can't do it.
-
And so the waves, you know the story.
-
So, before they got off the ship, some of the ship crew wanted to kill the prisoners.
-
They were afraid that once they jumped off the ship the prisoners would kill them.
-
There were more prisoners than there were crew members, so they approached the captain and in the centurion we need to kill those prisoners because they're going to attack us.
-
And the centurion, the captain, wouldn't let that happen.
-
So God protected Paul and the prisoners from death.
-
And then you know the story the waves tore the ship up and they all floated to land on pieces of broken pieces of the ship.
-
And they were all alive on that island.
-
And then, if you keep reading which I suggest to read chapter 28,.
-
Once you read chapter 27 and you're invested, then you find out that it was cold, it was really uncomfortable, it was a rain raining.
-
So they lit a big fire.
-
They gathered wood and a viper out of the wood that they had gathered.
-
When they threw the wood on the fire, a viper came and fastened himself on Paul's hand and all the crew members.
-
They looked and said, ah, he escaped the sea, but now fate has got him.
-
He's going to pay the price.
-
Now he's going to drop dead.
-
And when he should have swollen and fell down dead, he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm.
-
Then they decided he was a God and wanted to worship him.
-
The Holy Ghost will protect you.
-
Hallelujah For Holy Ghost anchors to stabilize you and preserve you to accomplish your purpose.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands and receive Praise God.
-
Thank you, lord.
