Victory Highway 2

So let's just lift our bibles up and wave them around, make Jesus glad and the devil mad, and let's say this together so, heavenly father, I make this confession of faith tonight that I have the word of God and I'm high to get in my heart.
-
I'm building a foundation against the times to come.
-
I must have this strong word of faith foundation and I will overcome every obstacle in Jesus name, amen.
-
All right, uh, let's look at first Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 13.
-
It may sound familiar because we had this same one last Wednesday night.
-
Uh, paul is writing to the Corinthian church and he said there have no temptation.
-
That word temptation means tests and trials.
-
Also.
-
Sometimes we see the word temptation thanks in temptation, test or trial taking you, but such as common demand.
-
But God is faithful, who will not suffer or allow you to be tempted above what you're able.
-
But with the temptation also make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it.
-
And, uh, and so that way of escape I'm calling victory highway.
-
You know that's exactly what it is it's a victory highway.
-
God wants you to be victorious in all of the affairs of life, and so this is the second message on this subject.
-
You know, years ago, uh, just right after we moved into this building, uh, he spoke to me.
-
He said teach what you take for granted, and uh, and so these truths, uh, I've known about.
-
Perhaps you've known about them for many years.
-
And so if you've heard, uh, this message before, or something like it, well then, let it be water to the seed that you already have.
-
It needs to be refreshed, it needs to be renewed, rekindled the flame, and uh and so forth.
-
And then, if it's, uh, something that you it's new, that you really haven't heard this particular perspective, well then it's seed.
-
It's seed for your faith you planted in your heart.
-
Don't let the devil steal it out of your heart, because we all go through trouble.
-
Jesus said in John 16 33 in the world you shall have you can't get more directive than that you shall have tribulation.
-
That word tribulation means trouble, trials, anguish, betrayals.
-
I mean bad things happen to good people.
-
And uh, and as I said last week in brother Mark, uh, hankins, uh, uh, echoed that Sunday.
-
He wasn't listening Wednesday night, but it sound like he was.
-
He said don't spend time asking why.
-
Just find out who.
-
Now, who is God and where isn't the devil?
-
It's in the Bible.
-
And uh and so, uh, so some, uh, some folks that are new, you know, some they need to hear this message, some that that have been around a while, they've slipped a little bit.
-
So this, let it serve as an encouragement for your faith to know that God is faithful and that he has a way of escape out of any and everything you're facing.
-
And, uh and so the devil is limited here to things common to man, in other words, things of the natural.
-
Uh, he has, no, he has no real power to touch your spirit.
-
He has no real power to touch the supernatural part of you.
-
But the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through God.
-
What are our weapons?
-
Well, you have the word of God, you have the name of Jesus, you have the Holy ghost.
-
These are powerful weapons to use against any uh problems that come your way.
-
And, uh, the thing I mentioned last week that I want to emphasize this week and brother Mark again said something about it You're not going through whatever you're going through, you're not going through it alone, you're not by yourself, and that's what the devil does.
-
He'll attack people and then make them feel like they're the only ones.
-
Uh, you know, he did that to the prophet Elijah.
-
You know, elijah told God I'm the only one left.
-
And God listened to him, gave him some assignments and he said oh, by the way, there's still 7,000 haven't bowed their knee to bail.
-
So you know we're.
-
You know, listen, you're not alone, you're not alone.
-
And Hebrews 13, 5, and 6 says that he has said I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee, so that we may boldly say the Lord is my helper, I'll not fear what man will do unto me.
-
Amplified, I like it says I'll not leave thee, I will forsake thee, I will not, I will not, I will not.
-
You can't get more direct than that.
-
And so God is able to give you power or ability.
-
His ability, not your ability.
-
It may seem like what you're going through is beyond your ability, but no, god won't allow you to be sceptic.
-
Above your ability, god will add to your ability enough of his power so that you will get through it.
-
And so, and he pray, he provides a way of escape.
-
I call it victory highway, because that's exactly what it is.
-
And so last week, we gave you three things God is bigger than your trouble, I said.
-
God's bigger than the devil.
-
Same thing Trouble and devil are both the same.
-
Receive God's ability to help you and then stay on victory highway until final victory.
-
Don't get off.
-
Don't get off the highway, don't take an exit too quick.
-
And so tonight I wanna talk about finding the victory highway.
-
Finding victory highway, you know many prayers.
-
When we're attacked we tend to wanna get out from under pressure.
-
We tend our flesh wants it to end right away and we send up nervous prayers.
-
We pepper the atmosphere with just scriptures coming out of our head, and many people want lots of people to know about their trouble.
-
So they get a lot of people praying.
-
They seem to think that the more people that pray, the quicker their deliverance.
-
And I like what the Mark said this past Sunday.
-
He said what happens next depends on what happens now.
-
And so if that's true and I do believe that, and what happens next is depending on what happens now, let's not waste our time praying these kinda empty-headed.
-
These are prayers of the head, these are prayers of the emotion.
-
Now listen, we need a spirit-inspired pathway, we need a spirit-inspired word to combat the devil.
-
And so you know, one good thing you can say when you are attacked is you say look, this is not gonna stand.
-
If I can't make it through you, I'll make it around you.
-
And if I can't make it around you, I'm gonna make it over you.
-
If I can't make it over you, I'm gonna make it under you.
-
But one thing about it, devil, I want you to know I'm gonna get past you.
-
You know that's a good thing to say, that's a good thing to say, to let him know that you're not asleep, to let him know that you now he jumped on the wrong donkey, amen.
-
And so you know, find God's victory highway.
-
You've gotta find it.
-
It's not hidden from you, it's hidden for you.
-
And the unique path God has that's charted just for you.
-
You know you've got to draw near to God.
-
You've got to in the Word, in the prayer.
-
It's going to take a little time.
-
Don't get in a hurry to just address these demon powers that are attacking you.
-
Don't get in a hurry to do that until you've heard more fully about how God wants you to respond.
-
You know, for instance, I mean, if I'm going to go to Dallas and I'm in a real big hurry and I get on the freeway and I wind up on I-10, well, guess what?
-
I-10 goes to San Antonio.
-
You're not going to get anywhere near Dallas.
-
You're going to have to turn off I-10 and maybe take the back roads.
-
You know, it's just useless to go trying to create our own pathway, our own highway.
-
God has got one for you and let me tell you the victory highway.
-
Victory is the utter defeat of an enemy in battle.
-
That's the definition of victory, the utter defeat of an enemy in battle.
-
So don't settle for a ceasefire, don't settle for a cessation of hostilities, don't settle for a peace treaty.
-
No, get him under your feet and keep him there, tread on him, amen.
-
You know, a great example of this is found in 2 Samuel, chapter 5.
2 Samuel 5 chapter mention
-
David has just been crowned king of all of Israel.
-
You know, he was king of the southern kingdom of Benjamin and Judah and then he had long war with House of Saul and they resisted him being the king over the 10 tribes.
-
But eventually the kingdom was reunited after seven years and he became the king, the king.
-
And when the Philistines heard about it, they didn't man, they attacked him.
-
See, the devil will always attack your good report.
-
The devil will always attack your growth.
-
I used to think if I could just get enough faith, I would prevent attacks.
-
Well, the opposite is true.
-
He always opposes a growth in faith.
-
He always opposes a breakthrough.
-
Paul said you know, a great door and effect has been opened unto me.
-
But there are many adversaries.
-
And that's exactly how the devil operates.
-
He's not going to lay down and let you just march over him.
-
He is going to come against every growth.
-
He's going to come against every breakthrough.
-
He's going to come against every good report.
-
We have to be ready that when we have a victory today, that can mean an attack tomorrow.
-
And so David was like that.
-
I mean, the Philistines camped against him here in 2 Samuel, chapter 5.
2 Samuel 5 chapter mention
-
They came and spread themselves in the valley of Raphael and David inquired of the Lord.
-
See, he didn't go off half-cocked.
-
He inquired of the Lord and said shall I go up to the Philistines?
-
Will you deliver them into my hand?
-
And the Lord said unto David go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hands.
-
See, here's the king.
-
He's used to being the king, he's used to winning.
-
I mean, this guy was a winner.
-
He didn't get defeated in battle.
-
As long as he stayed under God's protection, he was invincible.
-
And yet he went to God to pray.
-
Should I go out?
-
Do I confront this enemy and see?
-
This is the thing we need to find out from God what's Victory Highway look like, where is it?
-
Where is it and get some more information.
-
You can stand to ask God a few questions when something begins to start coming unraveled in your life.
-
You know, always take this attitude.
-
It's not as bad as it looks.
-
I picked that up in Brother Copeland recently.
-
You know they had the freeze and they had a lot of damage in their buildings.
-
It looked terrible up there in Dallas, even worse in Houston, and they went through the building and said you know what?
-
It's just not as bad as it looks.
-
That was their faith.
-
They didn't deny the damage, they just said, oh, it's not as bad as it looks.
-
I've been saying that about all kinds of things.
-
You know we get a bad report from the doctor.
-
It's not as bad as it looks.
-
So anyway, he acquired of the Lord.
-
God told him yeah, go up, I'm going to hand him into your hands.
-
And so David came to Bail Parasim and David smote them there and said the Lord has broken forth upon my enemies before me as the breach of waters, and therefore he called the name of the place Bail Parasim, or the Lord of the breakthrough.
-
The Lord of the breakthrough, I tell you, jesus is the Lord of the breakthrough.
-
He wants you to have that victory and it's at the end of Victory Highway.
-
That's where it is.
-
It's not on your highway, it's not on something you dream up and so.
-
But I want you to get this.
-
And there they left their images and David and his men burned them.
-
I mean, they lost all their idols.
-
He burned all their idols.
-
I'm telling you, he spoiled them and he ruined them and he tore down their false gods.
-
And the Philistines came up yet again.
-
See, the devil, he's not going to just leave you alone, he's going to come again.
-
And they did.
-
They came again and spread themselves in the valley of Refaim.
-
And when David inquired of the Lord, see notice, david didn't just go out and say, well, he gave them to me the first time, he's going to do it again.
-
No, he inquired of the Lord the second time.
-
He inquired of the Lord and he said thou shalt not go up, but fetch a compass behind them and come upon them over against the mulberry trees, and let it be.
-
When you hear the sound of a going.
-
Some verses say the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees.
-
Who's that?
-
The angels.
-
When you hear the angels marching through the top of the mulberry trees, then thou you'll bestow yourself.
-
Then shall the Lord go out before they and smite the host of the Philistines.
-
That's exactly what happened.
-
And they did not call a ceasefire, they didn't call a cessation of his hostilities, they cleaned their clock.
-
And that's what God wants you to do.
-
He wants you to clean out these nests of demon powers that are afflicting your home, afflicting your, your children, afflicting your marriage, all of this COVID stupidity that's going on right now.
-
Did you know?
-
Our death rate is the lowest since this thing started?
-
And they're they're all ready to shut everything down and mask everybody up, and the death rate is way down.
-
I mean, this is just listen, let's, let's, let's, let's inquire of the Lord and find the right highway.
-
It's so important.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands.
-
Lord, I thank you that you've got the highway for my victory right now.
-
This is the place where I'm going to clean the devil's clock and I'm not going to stop short.
-
You know, brother Smith-Willsworth said in his experience all those years ago he said most Christians stop short.
-
They just don't, they, they give up too soon.
-
They give up too soon.
-
Let's not give up, let's, let's press through.
-
And then when we're attacked again, after we get partial victory, we're attacked again.
-
Let's not melt, let's, let's be expecting him, he's.
-
Sometimes battles are several battles in one, there are several stages in one, and don't give up too soon.
-
So, finding I know many of you are wondering well, how do I find it?
-
Finding victory highway.
-
You know one thing about tests and trials God doesn't send them, but he won't waste them.
-
You know God doesn't send the test, he doesn't send the trial, he doesn't send the trouble, but he won't waste it.
-
Why?
-
What do I say?
-
Because if you will treat it correctly, you'll draw near to God.
-
And so my first, the first point is understand his way is not hidden from you, but it's hidden for you, in other words, just not immediately apparent.
-
What you should do, I mean, don't just again, don't grab the first thought and start trying to act, act out against the enemy just on your first inkling.
-
Let's, let's do some praying, let's draw near to God in the word of God and in prayer.
-
So let's look at Psalm 77 and and see an example of this in the Bible.
-
You know the story God had delivered Israel out of Egypt.
-
They had the great Passover supper and they, they marked the doorposts and and the, you know, with the blood of the lamb, and the death angel passed over every house where he found the thresholds.
-
He passed over every one of those houses in Israel, but he went to the firstborn of every Egyptian and even the animals firstborn of the animals died.
-
There was great death and destruction and at that great judgment they let, they finally let Israel go.
-
And and they went through the wilderness.
-
They marched out like an army, you know, they didn't march out just straggling along.
-
There was not one feeble among their tribe.
-
They went out rich with silver and gold.
-
They, they didn't look like.
-
You know, have you ever seen pictures of the Jews that were in the Holocaust?
-
And they survived and didn't actually have to go through the ovens.
-
But they were there at the time.
-
Just, they just hadn't, hadn't been burned up yet and they were so skinny.
-
It had, you know, had no weight on them.
-
They had been just starving to death.
-
It was a horrific sight.
-
Well, that's not how Egypt saw them.
-
I mean Egypt, saw an army leaving.
-
He saw Israel marching out of there in victory.
-
And as they're marching out, what was going on?
-
Well, a pillar of fire by day and a cloud by night was leading them and it led them to a place where there was no way to cross the Red Sea.
-
No way to cross why?
-
See why?
-
Well, they didn't understand why.
-
Why don't be asking why?
-
Why is irrelevant, why is a waste of time for you?
-
And so you know, moses got on his face and here comes Pharaoh and his army, 600 chariots and horses, and they're gonna come and kill all the Israelites.
-
But the pillar of fire by night moved around behind the children of Israel where they were camped, and it was a light and comfort to Israel all that night.
-
But it was fear and dread and terror.
-
You know, god is known as that great, terrible one, and that's what Pharaoh and his army got to wrestle with all that night.
-
And in the meantime, god said stretch out your rod and command the waters to part.
-
I think about the rod that Moses had.
-
He had stretched out and turned.
-
You know, loose a lot of the judgments.
-
He turned the Nile River into blood.
-
He turned, he released the frogs.
-
He released the lice, he released all kinds of things with that rod.
-
Well, what?
-
I don't have a risk you do.
-
You've got the rod of his name, you've got the name of Jesus.
-
You can stretch out over your difficulty.
-
And God says that God sent an east wind all that night.
-
I don't understand how an east wind can part water.
-
I don't need to know why, I just know it did.
-
The east wind blew all that night.
-
And what if it blew there?
-
It blew on the Egyptians.
-
I mean, they not only had that pillar of fire to deal with, they had this heavy wind and everything else blowing them all night long.
-
I'm sure they never slept a wink.
-
And in the morning, here is this highway with all the wet mud in the bottom of the red sea dried completely up, so that the children of Israel passed over on dry ground.
-
The pillar of fire, the cloud turned into a cloud and it moved down in that sea and led them through the red sea, and that became their pathway to victory through the red sea.
-
I mean, if God has got to lead you, maybe differently than the last time, well, let him.
-
He's God.
-
You're not smarter than God.
-
Let him lead you how he wants to.
-
He doesn't have to use the same methods as he did last time.
-
Oh, this has happened to me before.
-
I know he's going to do it this way.
-
And well, no, you don't know that until you pray and read your Bible and ask and inquire.
-
So the blessing of trouble is that it makes you draw near to God, it makes you dependent on hearing from God, and then you learn how to hear from God.
-
During these tough times we have to get much more skilled, as the church of Jesus Christ, at obeying God's witness and obeying God's signals that he gives us.
-
He's not always going to give us dreams.
-
He's not going to always speak words to us.
-
Much of our guidance comes in the form of a witness green light, red light.
-
Last week I talked about the penalty of running a red light.
-
I saw a guy on the news run a red light.
-
He was being chased by the cops and he died at that intersection.
-
He was T-boned, and so running a red light that the Holy Ghost gives you can be detrimental to your life.
-
So let's learn to heed his guidance.
-
All right, and so, again, the way of escape was not apparent.
-
It was not apparent, but it was sure it wasn't.
-
It was a sure way of escape.
-
In fact, it says, when Pharaoh tried to use that and tried to follow him, that God looked out through the glory and through that cloud and he despised them.
-
He lost respect for them and all of a sudden the waters closed in among them and they all drowned in the Red Sea Horses and men and Pharaoh himself.
-
I mean, what an ending to Pharaoh's life.
-
He drowned All right.
-
So understand his ways, not apparent.
-
Number two they were led there by the cloud and that's a picture of the Holy Ghost type in shadow.
-
They pass through by doing his word.
-
God said stretch your rod out and pass over on dry ground.
-
So God gave them a word.
-
Well, I don't know if I see God can give you a word, but if you'll just open your Bible, start reading it and start praying in the Holy Ghost, god can give you a word.
-
God can illustrate what he wants you to do through his scripture, or he can speak to your heart, or he can give you a witness about something.
-
And so how did they pass through?
-
They passed through by doing his word, which they heard.
-
So you can hear.
-
You can hear from God.
-
I'm not saying that he's gonna talk to you with speech.
-
I'm talking about use your equipment.
-
You have supernatural equipment.
-
The inward man hears from God.
-
Your inward man is a spirit.
-
God is a spirit.
-
He's able to communicate.
-
And that brings me to number three.
-
Obey your inward man when he communicates to that inward man.
-
Your inward man, if you pray much in the Holy Ghost is gonna.
-
Finally, the knowledge of what God is saying is gonna get to your mind.
-
It's gonna travel from your inward man into your mind and you're gonna know.
-
You're gonna have a knower and you're gonna know in your knower.
-
Listen, I know some of you are not real schooled in this.
-
I know some of you've made mistakes.
-
Listen, here I've got both hands and both feet.
-
Well, I would raise my feet but then I'd fall down.
-
But listen, I've made plenty of mistakes, not quite identifying the witness of the spirit.
-
You're gonna have mistakes before you learn how to be more accurate about it.
-
But this is the day we're living in right now, when we've got to develop and these things.
-
God expects us to grow up.
-
God expects us to be mature.
-
So obey your inward man.
-
Your spirit will let your mind know, whatever it picks up from your spirit what the way out is.
-
So there is a way out, right Cause God said there was.
-
Well, I just don't see it.
-
Well, god said that there was a way out.
-
Well, I don't know, but I can't.
-
God is faithful and he said he'd provide it.
-
See, if he provided the way, don't you think he'll show you what the way is?
-
What is that Psalm?
-
It says oh, show me thy ways.
-
Oh Lord, lead me in that truth.
-
Teach me for the out, the God of my salvation, on thee do I wait all the day?
-
Thanks, psalm 25.
-
I pray that prayer real, regular.
-
I mean we all need to be taught his ways.
-
His ways are higher.
-
His ways are beyond our natural thinking.
-
They're not apparent.
-
They're not apparent.
-
So tap in.
-
And then, finally, number four stay on that road until the enemy is vanquished.
-
I keep thinking about World War II.
-
I'm a student of World War II and Great Britain was trying so hard to avoid a war with Nazi Germany and Hitler and his.
-
He was asking to be given, you know, certain territories that he felt like were German and they were given to other people groups after World War I, and he was trying to avoid a war with Nazi Germany and he said give me the Sudan land I want and let me have that.
-
And so Neville Chamberlain, which was the prime minister of Great Britain, met with him and he basically just gave those people over to Hitler and said we won't do anything about it, we will not protect those people, even though they had a treaty, even though they had an agreement after World War I.
-
He just fed them to the lion, so to speak, and Hitler occupied Sudan land, and that wasn't the last one.
-
Then he wanted Jekyllis Vakia and Neville Chamberlain said we have had peace in our time.
-
Well, no, he had a lie.
-
He had a lion dog that he was talking to, which is a lot of what we're talking to in Iran.
-
You can forget about Iran.
-
They're liars, they hate us and they hate Israel.
-
So you know, if you're you know the items, that negotiating with them, trying to come up with some kind of an agreement, it's just a complete waste of time, and even the people in Iran know it because they've been protesting against the Ayutthola.
-
So, but my point about this is stay on that road until the enemy is vanquished.
-
Don't leave any trace of the trouble.
-
Don't leave any trace of the trouble, don't leave any trace of the trouble.
-
I think about the Damaniac.
-
You know a legion of demons, a legion, you know that's more than one, a Roman legion, what is it?
-
6,000?
-
If they all had a name, how could you name all the demons?
-
I mean, what were their names be?
-
6,000 different demons and all their different names.
-
And Jesus got rid of every single one of them.
-
He didn't leave one behind, he didn't leave a half a dozen.
-
He didn't leave that man and he completely cleansed the guy so that he was sitting at his feet in his right mind.
-
And then he went and he told the 10 cities of what great things the Lord had done for him.
-
Hallelujah, that's what God wants.
-
He wants a complete vanquishing of the enemy.
-
He wants you to remove every trace of the mountain.
-
You know that's what Mark 11, 23 says.
-
If you'll speak to this mountain, not doubting your heart, believe those things which you say shall come to pass, you'll have whatever you say.
-
Where do you throw them out?
-
Into the sea, cause that way it won't come back.
-
It won't ever come back.
-
And so again, let's not give up before the job's done.
-
Let's vanquish the enemy.
-
Let's not.
-
We can celebrate all along, but let's not celebrate to the fact that we're all done.
-
I think about 9-11, everybody rejoiced.
-
It seemed like we, you know, we had some kind of a victory when we conquered Iraq.
-
Well, guess what?
-
We didn't really do anything.
-
He kept stirring up a wasp nest, made it worse and we didn't repent as a nation.
-
We did not repent for our arrogance and our idolatry, and this which is why we're where we are right now, and so we just kind of, we let the immediate, we let the immediate govern over what was important, and that's your flesh.
-
Your flesh wants to get something immediate.
-
Your flesh wants to have relief.
-
Oh, I need relief right now.
-
I can't stand this.
-
Oh, I'm just devastated.
-
Quit using that word.
-
You're not devastated.
-
I mean, that's the word of the week devastated, word of the year devastated.
-
I'm just devastated.
-
I've heard Christians say devastated.
-
No, you're not.
-
Do you look up devastated in the dictionary?
-
You're not devastated If you're in one piece and you got a blood and you've got a pulse.
-
You're not devastated.
-
So don't settle for solving the immediate at the expense of the important.
-
Praise God, victory highway.
-
Come on, lift your hands and receive the word of God tonight.
-
Let's pray, father.
-
I thank you for everybody, under the sound of my voice, that they've heard the word tonight, and they've heard it a little bit different shade of meaning, a little bit differently denied.
-
And so, father, they're taking it to heart and we just believe that everybody that watches this, whether it's tonight or tomorrow or whenever they watch it, that they're gonna take hold of this word of God and as a sharp, two-edged sword, it pierces and divides and cuts both ways.
-
In Jesus' name, amen.
