Just Like Jesus, Part 2: His Mission

But let's go ahead and get into the word tonight.

You know, on Sunday night a couple weeks ago I believe it was the 18th of July I started a series called the Just Like Jesus series, and so tonight is part two of that series, and in part one I just talked about how you know, we are the body of Christ and we are supposed to be just like Him, and we'll get right into our foundation scripture with that.

It's out of 1 John 4, verse 17.

1 John 4:17

It says Love has been perfected among us in this, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world.

So as he is, so are we.

We are His representative in the world.

And then in Ephesians 5, chapter 1, it says Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children.

Have you ever seen the way a little kid imitates his daddy?

Or a little girl will imitate her mama or somebody else.

You know that she really loves.

Imitation is a sincerest form, a flattery, and so we've seen the way children imitate, and that's the way God he wants us to imitate Him.

And then in verse two it says Well, and walk in love.

So be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us and offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet, smelling aroma.

So that's our series foundation.

We represent Jesus in this world.

We are the body of Christ and so last time we talked about how the body of Christ, we can grow like Jesus grew, and in Luke 2, 52, it tells that he grew in wisdom and stature and he had favor with God and man.

He grew in that favor, and so we talked about all of the things, how we can grow in those things.

We ought to always be growing because Jesus grew and the body of Christ here on earth.

We need to grow in faith.

We can always grow in wisdom.

We can always grow in stature, in the way people see and maturity in Christ, and we can always be growing in favor, not just with God but also with man.

And so we talked about that and we want to be just like Jesus in the way he grew, and tonight we're going to focus on we want to be just like Jesus.

His mission is our mission.

His mission is our mission and it never, ever changed.

So turn with me, if you would, to Luke 19.

That was Jesus' mission.

And I, you know my dad, always says teach what you take for granted.

And so this is one of those messages tonight.

There might not be anything new for you, but I pray that there will be the touch of God on it, that you will receive a revelation about something that will help you, that will help give you a new perspective, that will help lead and guide you.

And so Luke 19, verse 9.

Luke 19:9

Now this is in the middle of the story of Zacchaeus.

Remember who Zacchaeus was?

Don't make me sing that children's ministry song, because I always accidentally sing it with an Irish accent.

I don't know why I do that, but now y'all really want me to sing.

I'm not going to sing it.

I'm not going to sing it.

So.

But Zacchaeus was a tax collector.

He was looked upon with scorn and everybody, all of his peers, hated him and he was short and he couldn't see Jesus.

He heard Jesus was coming through town and he wanted to see him so bad.

So what did he do?

He climbed up in a sycamore tree and he was waiting for Jesus.

And Jesus, we know the story.

We know that Jesus said hey, I'm coming to your house.

You need to hurry up and come down.

Make haste and come down, because I'm salvation is visiting your house today.

And, of course, he repented of all his sin and he made restitution to everyone he'd stolen from.

And this is what Jesus said in verse nine.

He says today, salvation has come to this house because he also is a son of Abraham, so Zacchaeus was a Jew, for the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Jesus' mission was to seek and save the lost, and it still is.

He's the same yesterday, today and forever.

And his mission is now our mission to seek and save the lost.

So I looked up that word save and I learned some.

I mean, we know that's the Greek word sotso, s-o-z-o, and so much.

I mean we think of that word in one particular way, and it's a common word used throughout the New Testament.

So let's look at how, what it really means.

It encompasses so much more than just getting us into heaven by the skin of our teeth.

Yes, yes, jesus came to get people into heaven.

Yes, he came to undo the burden of sin and take it away.

And yes, he came to redeem us, to get us out of the kingdom of darkness, rescue us and translate us into the kingdom of his dear son, god's dear son.

He came for all of those things.

But listen to what the word sotso.

He says salvation has come.

Salvation, this is what salvation, he says.

He came to seek and save the lost.

So that's what it means to save, to keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction.

So there you have protection of, so you have okay, so you have protection.

There.

It says to save a suffering one from perishing he saved us from perishing from our sins and to save one suffering from disease to make well, to heal, to restore to health.

So anytime, virtually anytime, in the New Testament, when you read the word saved, that is, it's talking about not just salvation from sin, but salvation from sickness, protection from your body.

So listen to this to make whole.

To make whole, so wholeness, wellness in your body, soul, mind and spirit, wholeness, financial wholeness.

God does not want you poor and suffering.

He has come to rescue you from that.

His salvation is real to you.

And so, freely we have received, freely we give.

That is our mission to bring that kind of salvation to others.

Well, that is a big mission.

How are we going to do that?

What is my particular role in saving the planet.

Let's change the saving the people of the planet, which is more important than saving the planet.

What is my role in saving people?

What is your role in saving people, man?

That is a big, big role.

But, jesus, if we'll just do what he did, if we'll, just because we have what he had, he gave us His name, he gave us His Spirit.

The Holy Spirit that was on Him is on us.

He gave us all the tools and so, if we'll just do what, if we will just dare to obey His Word and bring Him into our situation, into whatever part of life, then we will have the success that we have.

And greater works than these shall you do?

He said so.

So, jesus, how did he?

What did he physically do every day?

Well, matthew 4, 23.

It says Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

All kinds, all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

Can God heal COVID?

Yes, can someone's on a ventilator?

Yes, god is a healer.

Can he heal?

Oh, even something that's genetic, even something that all kinds, all kinds.

He healed, he taught, he preached and he healed.

All right, so that's in Matthew 4, 23.

If you go to Matthew 9, 35, you're going to see a common theme.

It says Jesus went about all the cities and the villages.

So in Matthew 4, he just, he was just about Galilee.

He stayed in Galilee.

Then now he's going around all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease, every sickness and every disease among the people you know there is.

This is surprising to me, but I was made aware this week of a controversy in Christendom that apparently it's heresy.

Some people consider this so blasphemous and heretical to say that God wants to heal everyone.

It is God's will to heal everyone.

How many of you would agree that it is truly God's will to heal everyone?

He loves us, he sends salvation to you.

He's paid for your salvation, which includes your healing.

He healed every sickness and disease among the people.

He did not pick and choose.

But some people would say no, you can't say that because otherwise people, we would just go through and clear out all the hospitals.

Why are there any sick people at all if it's not God's will?

Because the devil is a law breaker.

That's why Because maybe it's dependent upon you and upon me to get ahold of the revelation of God about healing and make it so real and so many of us everywhere going out, teaching, preaching and healing.

First, it's going to take information the light has to turn on that, somebody, that somebody realizes, oh God, this is how God heals, this is, oh, this is available to me, I qualify for this.

And then preaching, just knocking the lie of the devil off of people with the pure, unadulterated truth of the Word of God.

And then the healing comes.

And so we just have it.

The church has not taken authority over these things in our regions and we haven't seen the level of healing that Jesus did.

But just because we haven't seen it yet doesn't mean we can't ever see it, amen.

And because my God is a healing God and I don't see anywhere in the New Testament where he differentiates, where he will heal some people but it's not His will to heal someone else.

I don't see anyone that came to Jesus and asked for His healing that he didn't immediately heal.

I don't see anybody.

There's one guy that came to Him blind and it took a minute.

Jesus prayed for him.

He had to pray for him again because he said, oh, I see men as trees.

And then Jesus had to pray for him again.

He didn't get healed.

I mean, everybody got healed, everybody got healed and Jesus is the same.

So, my Jesus and your Jesus, he's desires to heal everyone.

It's up to us to let the light turn on and take that revelation and really live it.

It is God's will to heal you and to heal everyone, and it's God's mission on us to take His healing power and His love and, yes, the gospel of healing from sin.

All of these things are part of His mission and he did it so well and it takes all of us working together to do it as well as he did.

But we're going to do our part.

Amen, we are going to do our part.

So teaching, preaching and healing, that's what Jesus did.

He went around doing that all the time and it took.

He had to break off the unbelief, the lies off of people, and where there was unbelief there he could do no mighty work.

It said so only in areas where there was unbelief.

It would hinder the power of God from moving.

That's why teaching and preaching are important and you would say, but, claire, but I don't.

I'm not a preacher, I don't have a microphone and I'm not the kind of person to really speak out on things.

You know what God.

He'll use you where you are.

You do not have to be loud, you don't have to have a forceful personality.

You start with what you know and the Word of God is true.

And how has it worked for you.

You can just say the truth, that you know.

There's power, the gospel.

I'm not ashamed of the gospel the apostle Paul said, because it's the power of God and to salvation.

Every time you just speak the Word to someone, you look them in the eye and you say, well, this is what God did for me.

I took the Scripture and I applied it in my life and he healed me.

He answered my need, he helped me on my job, he healed my marriage.

He, whatever God did.

You take what you know and you just start there and you just start helping people who are like you.

That's the easiest little step.

It's not hard.

You just follow the leading of the Holy Ghost.

You know Jesus had compassion on people in Matthew 935.

He healed every sickness and every disease and he saw, he looked at them with compassion.

And when you have that compassion, then it's time for you, just like Jesus.

He saw their need and His compassion welled up and then His power followed.

And so just follow that.

You don't have to do anything, that you know Jesus will stretch your comfort zone, the Holy Spirit will stretch your comfort zone a little bit, but it's not going to be so crazy.

And out of you don't have to force anything, just let the fruit of the Holy Ghost rise up on the inside of you and say what you know.

And so, preaching, teaching and healing the healing just follows naturally.

And because he told us to do the same thing, he told us to do the same thing.

Matthew 2818.

Many of you know this, but I'm going to turn there because this is called the Great Commission and it's repeated again in a different way in Mark 1615.

But let's just go there and read both of the Great Commissions and see if we can't find these three things preaching, teaching and healing.

I'm going to show you that they're there right here.

Jesus told us to do the same thing that he did, and if we'll do what he did, we can have His same results.

And so in Matthew 2818, I should have just quoted it all authority, all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

So he has all authority.

And then he turns around and he gives it to you and to me.

He says go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you.

And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

You are not alone.

You are not alone.

Jesus has already gone before us.

He has already done these things and he has sent us the Holy Spirit to live on the inside of us, to help us.

It is so fun to serve Jesus.

It is so fun to carry on his mission.

Have you heard people talk about?

You know, this is a phrase people use.

It's my mission in life, I'm going to make it my, and usually, when they're mad, I'm going to make it my mission in life to put you out of business, because I tried to order this thing off at your menu, oh, restaurant owner, and it came and it was cold or it was.

But I'm going to make it my mission in life.

And so what do they do?

You don't want to hear those words.

I guess if you're a business owner, they're going to put it on Yelp, they're going to give you a one-star review, they're going to do this or that and they're going to tell all their friends never to come to your restaurant.

Well, you know, it's usually negative.

How many of us would really say we made it our mission in life to spread the gospel?

I mean, we might say it, but when we, when we look in practice, have we brought?

Have we brought Jesus just where we are and the people around us?

Let him come with you, let he's with you.

Mark 16, 15.

These signs shall follow them that believe.

Let's just go there.

I'm probably starting too late in the chapter Mark 16, 15.

Oh yeah, go into all the world and preach.

The gospel Said there's our preaching.

Go into all the world, into every facet of society, so you don't have to have.

You know, but Clara haven't been vaccinated.

They might not let me on a plane, that's okay.

You can go to every facet of society.

Maybe you're not supposed to go to, you know across the world right now, but maybe you are, and how God will make it make a way.

But we go into every facet of society, all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

In other words, just declare the good news that we have good news.

We have good news to share.

Okay, so we we take that we share with every creature.

He who believes in his baptized will be saved.

He who does not believe will be condemned.

And these signs will follow those who believe.

And here comes the healing in my name.

They will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents.

If they drink any deadly thing, it will not by any means harm them.

They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

They will recover.

They will recover.

Will we dare to believe it?

Will we dare to stir up our faith?

And really, and again, we don't have to always make a big deal out of it, it doesn't have to be, you know, a Benny Henn service where we, you know, we lay.

I'm going to lay hands on you now and I will pray.

It could just be, you know, hey, the sick person I'm going to, I'm going to gently, I'm going to pat them on the shoulder and they may or may not even know that you are praying for them at that moment.

Or you might just say you are healed in Jesus' name, and you might just you know, you might just look them in the eye.

It could just be a conversation.

It doesn't have to be a, you know, a weird experience or anything like that.

It could just be so simple just declare healing over them and if we'll be faithful to do it, god is faithful to back up His Word with signs following.

Go into all the world, preach the gospel, and then what happens?

Then here come the signs and wonders, people speaking in tongues, people laying hands on the sick, and they'll recover.

And then, but, but, claire, I tried that.

I laid hands on somebody once and they didn't.

They didn't get healed.

Let me ask you this what is more true?

Is the Word of God true, or is your past experience that didn't work for you?

Is that true, and which will you choose to believe?

Because I think there are a lot of reasons.

You know, healing is something we learn about here in the church.

A lot we study because there are many.

There's role.

There's a role we have to play in our own healing, in our faith.

The miracles that Jesus did by the Holy Ghost, those were done on people.

Some of them had faith to be healed, and some of them had no faith whatsoever, and so Jesus can work with either kind.

We just know that it is His will to heal everyone, and so when we put our hands on Him, we believe that we put them on a pathway to their healing and it's up to them to follow on that pathway.

Amen.

And sometimes God will help, give us something to say to help them get on that pathway.

But have we seen miracles?

Yes, we have in this church.

Yes, we have.

And so the Word of God.

Will we dare to trust Him?

Will we dare to say His Word is more true?

I know that my God heals, and so he may.

You know, if it's not God's will to heal everyone, how come we're?

I mean, why do we respect any doctor at all?

If a doctor?

We respect doctors why?

Because we see that they're helping people.

They are helping people, you know, and we're thinking okay, they're here to help people get well, and so we respect doctors.

If it's God's will for some people to be sick and others to be healed, but other people to be sick, wouldn't we be mad at doctors?

Oh, they're working against the will of God.

No, no, there are lots of ways to get healed.

If your pathway is on the medical route and that's going to save your life and preserve it until your faith can grow for something a little bit bigger, hey, let's take that path.

That's a pathway to healing in life, and that's God's will.

We know it.

Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Third John 2 says prosper and be in health.

That's God's will.

He wrote that to the church.

That's His will for every believer.

There was no feeble among their tribe when they left Egypt.

Instead of the children of Israel who left, god's people were not sick, and he doesn't want us sick either.

So he wants us healed and he wants us saved from sin.

And how do we get saved?

So let's go back to that word.

So-so, so-so.

Let's go to Romans 10.

And let's start in verse nine.

These are all very familiar and if they're not familiar to you, I want you to go back and listen to this a lot of times and go back and read these scriptures, because these are this is a Christian textbook.

This is almost like a basic textbook of things that you need to have these scriptures in your arsenal every day to help you minister the word of God to other people and to give you boldness when you do so.

But Romans 10, 9 and 10,.

If you don't know any other scripture, if you have never led someone to the Lord, if you have never helped them become a born again believer by praying with them this, if you only knew one scripture in the whole Bible that would help you do that, this is that scripture, and so it's Romans 10, 9.

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

You will be so so.

You will be delivered from all suffering and peril.

You will be rescued.

You will be and I'm gonna go back to that in a minute.

You will be delivered from the penalties of messianic judgment, woo.

You will be delivered from all penalties of sin because of what Messiah did for you.

You will be saved from all the evils.

This is another word, that another thing that so so means you will be saved from all the evils which obstruct the reception of the messianic deliverance.

Let me put that in English Anything blocking Jesus's deliverance over you.

You're gonna be saved out of that and that blockage has to go and God's deliverance can come straight to you without sin crusting over in the way.

And so you will be saved.

How?

If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes under righteousness, but with the mouth, confession is made into salvation.

For the scripture says whoever believes on him will not be put to shame.

And then verse 13 says whoever calls, whoever, whoever, whoever there's our good news.

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

But, claire, they were wearing a rainbow t-shirt, or they look like this, or they look like that, or they smelled like this, or they were doing that Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Whoever there is a message of hope right there for every person.

There is your gospel right there.

Whoever calls on him will be saved.

We'll experience the his saving power, just like you did.

And you did it by believing something but also saying something, and I think that's where we miss it.

I mean, pastor Mark Hankins was just here teaching about what to say, how to use our mouth, one of the things he says a lot you never run at your giant with your mouth closed.

You know, because he's talking about David and Goliath, how he was telling Goliath all along I'm gonna cut you down, I'm gonna cut your head off you, I'm gonna have you for dinner.

And he, but he was saying what God put in with boldness.

He was saying so what are you saying against your giant?

What are you saying against your mountain?

What are you saying against your problem?

And so we've got to help people understand that salvation comes by what you say.

Salvation comes by what you say.

So teaching, preaching and healing man, we're gonna teach people.

Teaching people, the word of faith is so important.

This is the word of faith and actually that word, that phrase, is actually used right here.

If you back up verse eight, what does it say?

The word is near you and in your mouth and in your heart.

That is the word of faith which we preach.

What do we preach?

The words can save you.

Words.

If you just make your, you can't do it.

You can't be saved quietly, just like you can't praise God quietly.

You can't praise God, you know.

You can meditate on the Lord and that's good.

You can be quiet and be still and meditate on the Lord, but that's not praising him.

Praising him is loud.

Praising him is gonna make a sound and other people are gonna hear it.

Preaching and teaching, that's gonna make a sound.

You're gonna have to be on record here preaching and teaching and telling somebody something.

It happens with your mouth.

Being saved happens with your mouth, be it, say, salvation from sin or sickness or any other peril, salvation comes from your mouth.

I often tell this story.

I was camping one time and I heard I was sleeping in a tent and I was backpacking in Yosemite.

This is when I was a person, and now I am a mom of three and I stay home and if we go on vacation we stay in a hotel or something with walls.

But I was sleeping in a tent and I heard.

I knew there were bears and we had done the best to put.

My friend and I, we had put all of our stuff inside of a bear canister and hoisted it up in a tree way up high to keep anything that might smell good to a bear.

We put it away and so we were just man.

But then in the middle of the night I heard this, the sound, and I knew that there, I just sounded to me like a bear.

Maybe it was something else, but to me it sounded like a bear, and so I could have just laid there.

But what am I saying?

I am saying something out of my mouth.

I am speaking my own salvation.

I am saying he that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, and I will say, of the Lord.

He is my refuge, am I fortress, my God, and him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver me.

And so I'm saying something.

I'm saying it very quietly, I do not want the bear to hear, but I am saying something.

And what are you saying?

What are you saying?

The bear did not eat me.

I lived till the next morning.

I never even saw a sign of the bear.

Maybe it didn't even exist, but I didn't have a heart attack either.

I was not eaten by a bear and I did not have a heart attack.

So God saved.

It worked.

I had salvation.

Right, I had salvation.

But what are you saying?

What are you saying to?

I mean, it's salvation comes from what you're saying.

So we've got to help teach people, man, they are saying the wrong thing, and I just have a lot of examples of this right now, but I just know there are members of our church Some of you are.

You're actively helping your loved ones or your friends because they are in the fight of their life, and maybe you're in the fight of your life.

You can apply this to you.

But maybe you're the person helping because you're helping bring the gospel that was Jesus' mission right and you're being the hands and feet of Jesus by helping people through their turmoil and you're trying so hard and you are like and they'll say stuff like oh, this is killing me over here.

And when you hear him say that, you're like oh, please don't say that, please don't say that.

So you're going to help teach them here.

Let's say this instead because you're making it true.

You're making it.

Every time you say something, you're either adding to your problem or you're lifting a piece of your problem away.

And that is a big takeaway I had from Brother Mark Hankins being here.

What are we saying?

And so, man, that's part of just teaching people.

You're bringing them salvation just by the word of God.

Every time the word of God comes out of your mouth, you're bringing salvation to somebody and you may not get to see the result of it, not always in this life, but sometimes you will.

The apostle Paul said one man plants and another waters, and God brings the increase.

So your job today in the grocery store might just to be to plant a little seed, just to speak something positive, happy, something, word based out of.

I mean to somebody's really gripey or whatever you know, somebody's in a bad mood, somebody's waiting too long in the Jason's Deli line, like happened to me on Sunday, oh, oh, and they were really men.

People in front of me were so cranky and I said well, maybe you know, maybe it'll speed up here.

Maybe this girl right here is just she learned on the first two people.

She's going to get really fast, you know.

Wow.

Well, you're in a good mood.

Well, you know, why would a Christian be sad?

Why would anybody come out of church and then be depressed in Jason's Deli?

I'm not going to.

I'm it's not going to ruin my day if I have to wait another 10 minutes for my order.

You know, normally they're very fast.

We like Jason's Deli.

I didn't know disparaging them, but my point is let's be, let's spread joy, let's be, let's be the voice of goodness to people and carry that and just lift their day.

There might be other ways we can build in, where we can really get down and deep with people and help guide them with the word through their difficulty.

You know some people.

They don't think they need it, they don't want to hear, they're not hungry enough.

Focus on the right harvest.

Focus on the people who really ask for your help, who really or who are just so hurting and they've they've.

Maybe you just met them, but, man, they're pouring out your, they're all of their problems on you and you're thinking why are they telling me this Anytime?

You think, why are they telling me this?

You have an opportunity.

You have an opportunity.

The Holy Ghost on the inside of you can stir up.

You have an opportunity to share.

They are hungry, they are ripe harvest and so you can rush in with.

If you're ready that day, if you've been prayed up, if you're ready and know that you're on the mission, that Jesus is on and he lives on the inside of you, then you're ready.

Boom, something great and great can happen, hallelujah.

And so, jesus, we can speak the word like he spoke Lazarus come forth.

You know he didn't.

You won't see Jesus when he prays.

He's not praying for someone, he's praying to the Father.

He prays a lot, he prays for the disciples to have strength.

But when he heals people, he's not begging God to heal somebody, he just says be healed.

Then later, peter's mother-in-law Peter's mother-in-law had a fever.

Do you have a fever today?

Some people have a fever these days, it happens.

But Jesus rebuked the fever and it left.

He rebuked it and it left.

Did he beg God to please heal?

No, jesus, his healing has already been poured out and so that so-toe has already been poured out on us, and so we have the word of God on that.

But it takes more than just the word.

It takes the Holy Spirit.

And Jesus had the Holy Spirit and he wants us to have the Holy Spirit.

And in Luke 4.18, if you want to turn there, luke 4.18, this is something we say all the time around here and this is a good confession to say over your own self.

Jesus said this about himself and it's true about his body, the church today.

He said the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

Now listen to all the things that Jesus was anointed to do.

These are things that you were anointed to do and you can just say don't say, oh, I can't, I know I'm not.

Oh, I'm not a speaker, I'm not a, I know.

Don't say that, say this, I'm anointed.

He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

He has sent you to do those things because he was anointed to do those things.

And you're the body of Christ, you're anointed to do those things and most of those things.

Notice how many times it uses preach, proclaim, proclaim, proclaim several different things and preach and proclaim.

And it does say heal and it does say set at liberty.

But the rest of it is all about saying something to someone.

Do not let the devil keep you silent.

He has kept the church silent for too long and it is time for the church to speak up and proclaim liberty to the captives, to preach the gospel to the poor, to have recovery of sight for the blind and to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

You know, there really is true oppression in our society.

Lots of people are using that word today I'm oppressed, I'm oppressed, I'm oppressed, I'm oppressed.

Well, they can be set free by the power of God, just by the truths of the gospel can set them free.

If they wanna be set free, they can be set free.

We have good news for people.

Why are you oppressed?

Why are you don't be oppressed?

You don't have to be oppressed.

Praise God, there is the saving power of the gospel, the salvation.

Salvation has come to your house today, and that's our good news.

We are anointed by the Holy Spirit.

You know Jesus.

Everything he did, everything he did.

Yes, he is God, but he did not do it as God.

He did his good works as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit.

And that's how you will do your good works.

You're just a man or a woman, but you're anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit, like Jesus was, and you have his name, and so you can do the greater works.

I'll simplify it even more.

Acts 10, 38.

Acts 10, 38, here's Peter.

Peter is preaching the apostle Peter in the early church history.

He is preaching to a whole family of a man named Cornelius.

Cornelius is a good man.

He is a Roman soldier higher up in the Roman army and he, but he's not saved and he knows he's missing something.

And now he's had an experience with the Holy Spirit that tells him there's somebody named Peter that's gonna come and tell you how you can be saved, saved.

And so here's Peter to come tell him how to be saved.

And he's preaching about Jesus and he's telling him how he.

And he says how.

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God is with him.

And then Peter went on to explain how Jesus was crucified and but then he was buried and rose again the third day, and how his blood brought salvation for all of us.

And then, of course, cornelius and his household and all his cousins and aunts and uncles who he'd gathered there that day.

All of them got saved, all of them got filled with the Holy Ghost.

All of them were filled with joy and excitement because they heard the gospel, the good news, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God is with him.

God anointed James of Tomball.

God anointed Tara also of Tomball.

God anointed Gosh.

Everybody here denies from Tomball, but anyway we got.

We got Rob from Cyprus.

How, god anointed Rob from Cyprus who went about doing, went about, traveled around.

Everywhere he went, he was doing good and healing people who were oppressed.

The devil bringing healing, bringing sotso, bringing salvation from sin, healing from sickness.

Doing good and healing what is doing good?

The word doing good means bestowing benefits.

So you know what, it's okay, it's a good day if you sometimes you know, maybe nobody gets healed or delivered or set free or saved on that particular day.

Maybe you just sprinkled a little bit, but maybe you just got to do something good.

What was the good thing you did?

Today you have completed your mission for the day.

If you've done something good, if you've bestowed a benefit I mean a real God-given benefit have you freely received of God's mercy?

Have you freely received of his sotso?

In your own life?

I have received.

I am full of his saving power.

He has saved me.

I'm telling you, I was teaching the children on Sunday and I asked them you know, what has God done anything good for you?

I mean, when has he really?

I mean really, when has he helped you?

And so they were thinking about me and what it would God.

And so one of them said well, I used to not be very good at saccharine, I was really nervous on my team and then God helped me to be better at that.

Or I wasn't nervous to do this or I was.

In their little lives, that's what they had seen God help them do.

And it was so sweet.

And I got to thinking, man, I could spend all day, starting from when I was their age to the things God helped me do, the salvation, what he saved me, how I should have been, how I should have been.

According to the devil's law over my life, I should have been on a path to absolute destruction.

And he saved me.

And the devil must feel so robbed.

The devil must feel so robbed when he looks at your life and all of the things God has done for you.

And so that's the kind of salvation you're bringing.

Your mission in life is to bring that salvation to other people.

Jesus' mission is our mission.

He's the same yesterday, today and forever, and he will empower you.

You don't have to be intimidated, you don't have to be worried that you're not doing enough.

You don't have to try to work it out and gin it up and make it up yourself.

God's spirit is alive in you to make you a witness.

He will.

The Holy Spirit is in you to overflowing and you are doing the mission of Jesus.

Bringing salvation to people, that is Jesus' mission, that's our mission, and so we're just growing like him.

We're more and more like him every day, and that is our, that's our calling.
