Church I am so grateful to be gathered

here with you today and even though

we're not gathered together in person I

do want you to know that this is

intentional uh we do not do this often

and quite honestly we don't want to make

a habit of doing this uh but this is

something that we have done over the

past several years where we have looked

at that final Sunday coming out of one

year and going into another year as a

Sabbath that we want to reflect on all

of the great things that the Lord has

done in our midst and if you've been

with us over the course of the past year

you know that there has been plenty that

the Lord has done we talked about it as

we went through all of our different

collections throughout the year uh

starting with how we were talking about

different things that people believe

that tend to be uh lies that we think

are true in scripture something that we

called Truth Decay that we walked

through uh all of these different

realities as we move through Rome R

chapter 8 about what it is to have the

Assurance of a believer in Christ Jesus

that more recently we found ourselves uh

going through Resurrection stories that

we found ourselves discussing uh things

about uh our finances into infinity and

beyond that we walk through how God has

blessed our church with uh more people

that have been a part of our church but

that there's also been more resource and

opportunity for us to do more things for

the kingdom of God so we're grateful uh

to be gathered here with you on this

sabbath kind of reflecting with this

grateful attitude on everything that

he's done uh but then look forward with

some expectation about what it is that

the Lord is going to do uh one thing

that we've often quoted over the past uh

3 to four years uh is a passage in

Isaiah in Isaiah uh in particular in

chapter 43 in verse uh 18 and 19 we see

that the Lord is uh speaking about some

things that uh we need to let go of and

then some things that we need to look

forward to and the thing that I would

say over the past several years is that

we've used that verse kind of uh in a

way to look forward to the future with

an expectation of what it is that God is

going to do that we have sensed deep in

our hearts that the Lord has taken our

church through some in incredible ground

and we've seen the Lord give us some

incredible ground but now as we move

into 2025 I want you to know that we

really believe that 2025 is a pivotal

year in the life of our church we

believe that 2025 is a year where uh

rather than just sensing that the Lord

wants to do something new we believe

that we're stepping into the new in 2025

and so I want to read Isaiah

43: 18-19 with you and just reflect on

this for a moment it says this do not

remember the past events pay no

attention to the things of old now I

think some of that obviously we know is

uh it's it's hyperbolic in the sense

that paying attention to the things of

old saying no longer paying attention to

the things of old it doesn't mean that

uh you you discount or you you don't at

all understand things that have happened

in the past but but what it means now is

that stepping into something new we're

not paying attention to the old we're

not dwelling on it we know what has

happened we know all of the great things

that the Lord has done and all of the

difficult things that the Lord has

brought us through but now we see that

it says we're not paying attention to

them we're not dwelling on those things

any longer Lord says look I am about to

do something new even now it is coming

do you not see it indeed I will make a

way in the wilderness and rivers in the

desert we believe that 2025 is a year

where our church is going to step into a

whole lot of new that we're really

excited to share with you on January 5th

and we also want you to know we're

believing that for your families uh

we're believing that there are some

incredible things that the Lord is

bringing you into as a family alongside

our church we believe that the Lord's

eye that is heart that is hand is on the

city of Orlando and where we're at in

windir and that as we find ourselves

being grateful and reflecting on all of

the things that the Lord has done in

2024 we also know that there's some

things that moving forward into the new

year that he's going to do that are

quite honestly going to blow our minds

uh we want to have a high expectation of

what God is going to do we see that the

Lord is specific he says I'm going to

make a way in the wilderness rivers in

the desert things that seem impossible

uh that those are things that you would

look at the landscape of that situation

and say there is no possible way that

that could actually come to fruition and

yet the Lord says that is exactly what

I'm going to do so here's what I would

ask of you would you pray with us over

the course of this sabbath break that we

would be a people that have a high

expectation and that people that come

into the house on January the 5th are

people that are filled with joy about

the things that the Lord is going to do

we have said before in our time together

as a church uh that Faith prays in the

past tense uh that that Faith thanks God

in advance for what hasn't even happened

yet and does that mean that we're trying

to pray what it is that we want to

happen into the will of God no not

necessarily we we believe that we're

already in step with the will of God

that the Lord has shown us the things

that he wants to do and so we have

worked around that and said Lord we want

to go Downstream with you that you've

made a river

in the desert and we want to be a part

of that great work and so will you join

me in praying now for 2025 will you join

me in having a high expectation of

everything that the Lord is going to do

because if 2024 was any indication of

what he wants to do we believe that 2025

is quite honestly going to blow our

minds that he will make that way in the

wilderness that he will make that River

in the desert and we believe that we

will see those things that the Lord has

promised in 2025 Lord we thank you right

now for the opportunity to gather in

your name even from afar God I thank you

for rest I thank you for the fact that

we have a people that have en enjoyed

hopefully uh an incredible holiday

together uh that have stepped into a new

year here shortly together and that we

not only step into a new year

recognizing that there's some

resolutions that we can make but that

there's an expectation that we can have

Lord we are believing that 2025 is going

to be the best year ever in the life of

our church church and we believe that

you have already made it clear what that

needs to look like Lord as we share

together what that's going to look like

as a church would it be something that

we are filled with joy over and that we

are just uh incredibly incredibly

humbled to be a part of Lord I believe

that you are doing something in the life

of our people and in the life of our

church uh that 2025 is going to be a

defining year that we look at and we

recall and reflect as we go into 2026

just how pivotal it was Lord thank you

you for the body that you have put

together here in windir and beyond for

the glory of your name and your Renown

Lord we love you we praise you and we

thank you we ask these things in Jesus

name amen
