  1. I think I'm going to go ahead and share the word with you tonight and then, if you have a need, I believe that while I'm preaching, you're receiving.

  2. Amen, you're going to receive what you came here for.

  3. That's how the anointing works, hallelujah.

  4. If you don't know who I am, I'm Jay Griner.

  5. I'm Pastor John and Gladys Griner's son, and I've been that for 45 years.

  6. Now.

  7. We're in our 27th year here and it really is.

  8. It's been a lot of fun and God is faithful.

  9. Well, father, we just thank you for your word.

  10. We come before you tonight with thanksgiving in our heart and, lord, we just thank you that you're giving me utterance to speak your word Exactly.

  11. We believe in supernatural hearing in the positive sense, and so we know that, as I'm preaching, lord, that you're able to invade people's hearts and to give them exactly what they came here for, that they'll hear exactly what they need to grow to the next level in you.

  12. In Jesus' name, amen, I just want to preach a message and title tonight.

  13. My title is Winning the Battle of the Mind, and I know Pastor preaches that a lot.

  14. I was not here last Sunday night.

  15. I was in youth, like we always are.

  16. My wife, selena, is the youth pastor and so I help her on Sunday night so I'll play in here and then sneak away back there and lead praise and worship back there as well, and then.

  17. So that's where I am on Sunday nights.

  18. But I know he preached a really good message last Sunday and Ms Irma came in Monday morning all bragging about it, and so I have no idea if this is repetitive or not.

  19. I'm not afraid of repetition and so, but I do know that that's a title he's used in the past, and so the Holy Spirit kind of gave me my own message.

  20. But I just winning the battle of the mind, and so it's really all about our thought life.

  21. The devil really is trying to get in.

  22. He's trying his best to steal, kill and destroy.

  23. But Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

  24. You know, last Sunday was 10, 10, all day was 10, 10.

  25. So growing up at Lakewood, pastor John and Dodie, osteen and Dodie I don't know if prayer time was always at 10, 10.

  26. But every Sunday morning she'd get up at 10, 10 and she would say, no, you don't devil, and we would all repeat that no, you don't devil.

  27. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly so.

  28. And so I think I was like in the eighth grade and it was a Wednesday night and I worked at Lakewood back with Joe Osteen in the television department.

  29. But on Wednesdays I worked upstairs and ran all the graphics and the announcements and the words on the screen and it was not like it is today, is very low tech and had to type everything in and I wasn't the best speller, but anyways.

  30. But I mentioned to Sister Dodie backstage.

  31. I was like you know, I've had to write on my paper 10, 10 all day and I was thinking of you and I kept saying no, you don't devil, every time I wrote 10, 10.

  32. But you know, ricardo Chavez, you know he, my dad talked about him this morning.

  33. He was rushed into.

  34. He had two surgeries right, there was two surgeries this week.

  35. They didn't get it all.

  36. The first surgery had to rush them back in to save his life.

  37. And so here it was 10, 10 last Sunday, and the devil was trying his best but his best was not enough.

  38. And so you know, ricardo was not here for my dad's word last Sunday night, the word of knowledge about someone having dead tissue, but he was here that morning and he volunteered early.

  39. He came in early for our faith foundations class.

  40. He was moving tables, he was working really hard, not realizing that he had a cantaloupe size growth on the inside of him killing him.

  41. And so, man, god spared his life and we're so grateful and thankful and we can't wait to see the Chavez family back with us here soon.

  42. But if you'll just continue to lift Ricardo up in prayer for strength, supernatural strength and supernatural recovery, because his family needs him.

  43. Amen, miss Diane, I hope I didn't say too many details.

  44. I didn't show the picture, that's for sure.

  45. That's just Whoo.

  46. Anyways, you know there's a Smith-Wigglesworth quote that says If the enemy can capture your thought life, he's won a great victory.

  47. And so we don't want to give the devil one place in our minds.

  48. We don't want to give him not an inch, not a millimeter right, so we want to take our thoughts captive.

  49. So let's read the very familiar scripture in 2 Corinthians 10.

  50. That's going to be 2 Corinthians 10, starting in verse 3 in the New King James Version, lee, if you don't mind putting that up.

  51. It says For, though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments or imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

  52. And so point number one tonight of winning the battle in the mind is just to recognize that it is a battle and you are in a battle and the devil, like I said before, he's not just trying to give you a bad hair day.

  53. He's trying to steal all of your influence, all of your ability, all of your influence that you have on the job, your influence that you have with your friends, with your neighbors, and mostly he's trying to steal your voice that you have with your family.

  54. So we need to recognize that we are in a battle and we need to take authority.

  55. We need to take captive every single thought that goes against the knowledge of God, that exalts itself higher than the knowledge of God, the knowledge of who you are in him, who you are in Christ, the knowledge of your inheritance, of what you have in Christ, anything that tries to exalt itself above that or make itself more important than that, pride, arrogance, seeing yourself bigger than you are, seeing your, you know we get our influence, we get our personality.

  56. Is God's characteristics right and we have that working.

  57. God's love has been shed abroad in our heart and so we have God's love working on the inside.

  58. So when we have thoughts of thinking too highly of ourselves, boom, we need to put those down.

  59. We need to take those thoughts captive, thoughts that you're not good enough.

  60. So the opposite of that thoughts of disobedience, thoughts of sin, thoughts of lack, thoughts of fear, thoughts of doubt, unbelief.

  61. You know, if you don't exercise your authority in these areas of taking those thoughts captive, the devil is just going to wreak havoc in our lives, amen.

  62. So I'm not preaching to you, I'm preaching to myself as well.

  63. Tonight we need to take every thought captive and make it obey the Lord.

  64. So we do that with our words, we do that by our confession.

  65. And if our confession doesn't match what's being said in the Word of God, then, like I said, the devil's going to wreak havoc in our lives.

  66. And so again, the devil is trying to take over all the territory that you'll let him, that you'll allow him to have, and we say no, we say you ain't going to have any.

  67. Back it on up, back it on up Because he has no authority in our lives and over our lives.

  68. Amen.

  69. And so from here let's just turn over to 1 Peter, chapter one, and I'll begin in verse 13,.

  70. And I'm reading out of the New Living translation First Peter 1, 13 and the New Living.

  71. And well, real quick, I'll grab it in the New King James, just to quote it, because you all probably have the New King James or a King James version in your lap.

  72. It says therefore, gird up the loins of your mind and be sober.

  73. That means be alert.

  74. See, we have no time left to waste, time to live life for ourselves, no time to get off of our calling.

  75. That God's called us to do.

  76. We need to gird up the loins of our mind, and that speaks to the creative side of our mind.

  77. But let's read about it in the New Living translation.

  78. It says I like the way it says.

  79. It says so prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control.

  80. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

  81. So you must live as God's obedient children.

  82. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires.

  83. You didn't know any better then, but now you must be.

  84. In other words, it's not optional.

  85. You must be holy in 22.2% of things you know.

  86. It says everything, and everything you do, literally everything you do must be holy, just as God, who chose you as holy, for the Scripture says you must be holy because I am holy.

  87. And so, before we keep reading, I just wanted to point out that it's not optional, so we must be holy.

  88. So what are our biggest issues as Christians?

  89. Is slipping back into our old way of thinking, our old way, our unredeemed, whether it be thoughts, whether those thoughts turn into action every time?

  90. Right, if you just allow yourself to think about bad thoughts, think about sin, thinking about whatever it is?

  91. You know, bad things that I think about are not, are not like.

  92. I've never struggled with alcohol.

  93. I was trying to come up with an example.

  94. You know, my dad was well on his way to being an alcoholic.

  95. Obviously not just because being a minister or growing up, not just because I was a Christian, but seeing what that did to his life, even though I was only five, I could definitely see the effects of alcohol before he got saved and I don't want anything to do with that.

  96. So I'm never going to show up at a bar and say, well, you know, I've never had a beer, but maybe just this one time, maybe just this one night, hey, we don't have anything else going on, I think I'm going to go out drinking.

  97. No, that's, that's never going to be an issue.

  98. But maybe you know that's something, maybe that's something that you struggled with before, and it starts with a thought you know you're, you're redeemed and you have to take a those thoughts captive of you know, like again.

  99. So I'm stuck on this example, but, like, I remember this used to happen more.

  100. But you like, you go get a to-go order.

  101. It was always at the bar until COVID, right, and now they have fancier ways to get your to-go food.

  102. But you know, you come up to the bar and I would always say, man, that I can smell the margaritas, I can smell, like, the sweet fragrance of some of those drinks, and they do smell good, right, but they're not tempting at all, like no, and so, but again, with those taking captive those thoughts, because those are trying to exalt themselves above the will of God for your life, which is to be alcohol-free, right, and to be sober, to be awake and to be alert, we have no time to be drunk.

  103. We have no time to be out of it.

  104. We have no.

  105. Jesus is coming soon.

  106. We have a job to do.

  107. We have a purpose.

  108. He has a plan for our lives.

  109. He has a calling.

  110. Each one of us is called and we're walking in that calling Amen.

  111. We're going to talk a little bit more about that later on, but let's keep reading, because I want to talk about the blood of Jesus, verse 17,.

  112. And remember that the Heavenly Father, to whom you pray, has no favorites.

  113. He will judge or reward you according to what you do, so you must live in reverent fear to Him during your time here as temporary residents, for you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors, and it was not paid with mere gold or silver, but which lose their value.

  114. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

  115. God chose you as your ransom.

  116. God chose Him as your ransom long ago the world began, but now, in these last days, he has been revealed for your sake, thank God, we've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

  117. We've been bought with a price, a precious gift, and so we need to honor that gift.

  118. We need to live our lives in accordance to the value of that gift, and so it's not about what you deserve no, you didn't deserve it, but he gave it anyways.

  119. And so we need to act like we have a covenant with God.

  120. We need to act like we're redeemed and not just say words that we are redeemed.

  121. Our actions must line up with the Word of God, with what I'm talking about tonight, and so, in order for our actions to line up, our thoughts must line up, amen.

  122. And so my point number two tonight was to prepare your mind for action.

  123. You know we're going to talk a little bit about this later, but this verse in verse 13, again in the New King James, it says to gird up the loins of your mind.

  124. It's really speaking to, if you studied it out in the Greek, to the creative side of your mind, the creative side of your thinking, and so creativity begins in your mind.

  125. Yes, you can have an idea that bursts and comes forth, that's revealed to you, spirit to spirit.

  126. So how we receive things from God obviously is through our spirit.

  127. But then that moves, that idea moves from our spirit into our mind.

  128. God requires your brain, your brain power.

  129. So if we went through some of the greatest inventors that give credit to God for their ideas, you would see that that God reveals things to their spirit, and so, preparing your minds for action, you need to set up your thought life and open yourself up and be open to the ideas of creativity that come from the spirit.

  130. And so we do that by knowing who we are in Christ and having this daily devotion with the Lord, pulling things out that he needs to communicate to us through his word.

  131. He communicates to us through his word, and so if we're not spending time with him, if we're just allowing ourselves to jump right on social media as soon as we wake up, there's a brand new feature in the latest iOS, and every morning, if I grab my phone, it'll tell me what I normally do first, and it's almost always turning the clock.

  132. You need to open up the clock and turn your alarm off.

  133. But I was listening to a good leadership thing here a few months back and it was actually Pastor Aaron at youth camp, and so he was pointing out to the kids to go old school, to get yourself an old school alarm clock and don't use your phone, because what does that do?

  134. Every morning, when you grab your phone, man, you're tempted by every text message that you missed overnight, or that Facebook or Instagram or whatever.

  135. It is that alert that happened.

  136. And so, boom, you waste the first 20 minutes of your day going through junk.

  137. That really doesn't matter.

  138. And so, anyways, how do we get around?

  139. That is by having a disciplined thought life, amen.

  140. And so, right away, we're going to the word.

  141. We're hanging all of our dreams and desires, everything that we're all about, our entire human personality.

  142. We're leaning back onto him out of his word, amen.

  143. So we're preparing our mind for action.

  144. We're not lazy, we're not holding things back, we're setting up an environment of success by allowing ourselves to be open to the creativity that comes from our spirit.

  145. And so and again, it's revealed from his spirit to our spirit.

  146. And so you say, man.

  147. Well, jay, that's way above me.

  148. I don't, I'm not a creative person, I stink at ABC and D.

  149. No, the Lord wants to is giving you fresh insight, fresh revelation every day, right, revealed to your spirit, right out of your word.

  150. If you'll just make room for it, if you'll just open up your mindset, if you'll just open up your thinking, he wants to move you and and influence the ones around you through the creativity that he's placed on the inside of you, amen.

  151. So we need to prepare our minds for action, and so we need to gird up the loins of our mind, amen.

  152. And so it, like I said it, it speaks to the creative part of our mind.

  153. You know, you say well, god's thoughts are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are, are higher, but we can think his thoughts, and so we have direct access to what he's thinking.

  154. What he's thinking is right, written right into his word, like dad preached this morning about what a rama word is.

  155. And so the difference between the logos and the rama.

  156. And when you receive directly from the Lord, when you're reading, and all of a sudden you make it personal, and what you're reading, he's speaking directly to you, man.

  157. It's changing your entire future, it's changing your.

  158. He's revealing your destiny to you right then, right there, right out of his pages.

  159. But, man, if you, if you're distracted and you're paying more attention to the news or the fact that you're late, or this and that and this problem's going on, and and that problem's going on, then you're going to miss it, and so we need to aim all of our priorities at receiving more from him, amen.

  160. And so, if we'll, well, I was going to go ahead and tell you what number three is before we read the scriptures.

  161. But if we're really soldiers in God's army, we need to meditate on the training manual.

  162. That's all I'm talking about is meditating on God's word.

  163. His training manual is right here, and it's really clear what we're to do.

  164. And so we need to immerse ourselves in the word.

  165. And so I remember, back in November of 2009, tl Osburn got to preach on this stage and it was incredible, the wonder of our witness.

  166. And so then, on Sunday evening, my dad got to interview him and he began to tell his testimony.

  167. I'm sorry I forgot most of the details, but he was specifically talking about languages and how he immersed himself in the language he learned.

  168. Does anybody know Like more than six languages?

  169. Yeah, like yes, just just from being so.

  170. He started with an interpreter.

  171. He would be wherever in Africa, somewhere preaching with an interpreter, and year after year after year, he was immersed in their language.

  172. And then, all of a sudden through the power of the Holy Spirit as well, helping his mind boom, he could speak their language.

  173. And it kept happening and it kept happening.

  174. And that takes a really smart, sharp person.

  175. But it wasn't just his natural brain, it was the power of the Holy Spirit on the inside of him.

  176. But it came from immersion being immersed.

  177. So that's what we need to do we need to meditate on God's Word and immerse ourselves in the Word and then boom, we're speaking God's language, we're thinking God's thoughts.

  178. It's all right here, it's all laid out in front of us.

  179. And so we do that by through Psalm 1, and I shared that for our offering scripture this morning.

  180. So I'll just go ahead and skip down, since we read most of this this morning.

  181. But our delight and desire in the law of the Lord and on his law I'm sorry, lee, I'm reading in the Amplified Psalm 1, verse 2, and on his law, the precepts, the instructions and the teaching of God.

    Psalms 1:2

  182. He habitually meditates, ponders and studies by day and by night, night and day, day and night.

  183. We're meditating on God's precepts, on God's laws, on God's instructions, on his teachings.

  184. And he shall be like a tree, firmly planted and tended by the streams of water, ready to bring forth fruit in its season.

  185. Its leaf also shall not fade or wither, and everything he does, shall prosper and come to maturity.

  186. He doesn't leave you halfway.

  187. There's no like doing something halfway.

  188. No, he's gonna prosper.

  189. Everything that you have set your hand to, everything that you set your hand to, he's gonna finish to maturity.

  190. It's done, it's a done deal.

  191. When you start to do something, the Holy Spirit comes up underneath you, grabs ahold of your elbows and helps you.

  192. He's our helper and he helps us in the direction, all by being blessed, all by doing the steps right here listed in Psalm 1 and studying and meditating on God's word.

  193. So it's referencing in my Bible.

  194. Let me go ahead and turn there, but it's Jeremiah 17, verse 7, 17, 7,.

    Jeremiah 17:7

  195. Most blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

  196. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river, and it shall not see and fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall always remain green.

  197. It shall not be anxious or full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.

  198. And so, man, that's an advantage when we meditate on the word.

  199. It doesn't matter what's going on around us.

  200. It does.

  201. It may look like there's a drought around us, it may look like financing is drying up, it may look like our economy is out of control and stagflation is here to stay.

  202. But we say no, and either way, we're like a tree planted and we remain green.

  203. We're not withering, we're not filled with anxiety, we're not full of care, we have peace, we have patience, we have calmness, and that calmness can be felt and seen by everyone around us.

  204. Amen, it's not just for us, it's not just to get our family through this situation.

  205. No, it's to be a witness of the goodness of God.

  206. We see the goodness of God in every direction.

  207. Amen, we get to experience the goodness of God.

  208. And so that word meditate back in Psalm 1 in I might have to get my glasses for this don't nobody make fun of me, call me old.

  209. That Greek word is Strong's number 1897, and it says it means to reflect, to moan, to mutter, to ponder, to make a quiet sound such as sighing, to meditate or contemplate something.

  210. As one repeats the words, higai represents something quite unlike the English meditation, which may be a mental exercise only, but in Hebrew it's thought.

  211. To meditate upon the scriptures is to quietly repeat them in a soft, droning sound while utterly abandoning outside distractions.

  212. From this tradition comes a specialized type of Jewish prayer called davoning, that is, reciting texts, praying intense prayers, or getting lost in communication excuse me, getting lost in communion with God, while bowing or rocking back and forth.

  213. Evidently, this dynamic form of meditation, prayer, goes all the way back to David's time, amen, and so other cultures in the Jewish faith and even Muslims.

  214. You know, they're taught to meditate, they're taught to pray.

  215. They teach their kids, obviously with a lot of effort, how to pray, and so we need to be teaching our kids how to meditate on God's word.

  216. I remember when I was a kid, my mom would get me with scripture and help me memorize scripture, and, yes, she did it in her prayerful way, but it was really similar to flashcards, you know, she would make me close my eyes and see the words with my.

  217. You know, use your imagination and see the words and just and help me meditate on the word of God.

  218. And so that's really important for us to teach our kids how to meditate, how to pray.

  219. And we do that through example, but we also do that through instruction, and so let's not forget how to do that and why to do that and why we do that.

  220. But you know, there's nothing wrong with getting lost in communion and fellowship with the most high and really, looking back in my life, that's been a powerful thing in my life.

  221. When I give myself over to having enough time to prioritize that in my life, man, I'm telling you it's always beneficial, and so God's used me the most after situations of intense prayer, of intense meditation.

  222. And so go ahead and prioritize that in your life, go ahead and honor that way of praying in your life and see what God does in your life.

  223. Amen.

  224. And so it's really important that we meditate on the training manual, that we meditate on his word.

  225. And so I also wanted to read there's a version of that that means to cultivate, and so when we cultivate God's word, we're getting the weeds out, we're getting all the distractions out and we're allowing the life of God and the revelation of God to grab a root, you know, to root deep inside of us, and that never goes away.

  226. I mean, the devil can try to steal it, but no, it's engrafted in our hearts and we have that word, we have that revelation and we're not letting go of it.

  227. Amen, amen.

  228. And so I wanna read right out of the dictionary.

  229. The word meditation also means to talk to yourself.

  230. And so you say well, jay, that's not godly information that you're just reading out of the dictionary, but if you think about to talk to yourself, you know David.

  231. The Psalms are filled with him saying my soul, my soul.

  232. He was always talking to himself, he was always telling himself how to think, how, you know, pay attention, he was shaking himself, to pay attention to what God had for him.

  233. And so that's not wrong.

  234. It means to mutter.

  235. That's the same definition that we read out of the Hebrew to conjugate to the inward and outward conversation, to chew or to study, to think over, to ponder, to moose, to reflect, to mull over, to speculate.

  236. But this is what I wanted to get to, which goes back to 1 Peter 1, that we were, when I was telling you that, about the creative side of God, prepare your minds for action.

  237. I talked about how that means the creative side, but this word also means to think deeply, to think up, to dream up or to hatch, to invent or to create mentally.

  238. And so you know again, the Hebrew pointed out that the word meditate in English is just a mental exercise, but in Hebrew is taking it and making it a spiritual exercise.

  239. So again, this definition is a mental exercise, but I promise you and guarantee you that you're hatching God's the plan of God for your life.

  240. You're hatching, you're inventing, you're creating.

  241. It's coming right out of your spirit.

  242. It's a spirit, it's a spiritual exercise, amen.

  243. It's not just a mental exercise.

  244. And so meditation allows you to possess everything God has for you, seeing yourself with the promises of God.

  245. So it's a tool, but it's a powerful tool that you don't want to ignore.

  246. And you don't want to ignore, you want to honor it, you want to prioritize it in your life, amen.

  247. And so, just in closing, for my last thing, we need to meditate on the ministry that God's given us, and we'll read that out of 1 Timothy 4.

  248. We all know this scripture is very familiar, but Paul is telling Timothy, he's encouraging Timothy.

  249. You know Timothy was his son in the faith and they had a wonderful relationship and Timothy was a wonderful servant.

  250. When Paul needed him most he was always there.

  251. And so that's our attitude towards the Lord amen.

  252. When he needs us, we're there, we're quick to obey.

  253. But in 1 Timothy 4.13, I believe this is in the amplified still Lee Till I come, paul is telling Timothy till I come, devote yourself to public and private reading, to exhortation, to preaching and personal appeals, and to teaching and instilling doctrine.

  254. Do not neglect the gift which is in you, that special inward endowment which was directly imparted to you by the Holy Spirit, by prophetic utterance, when the elders laid their hands upon you at your ordination.

  255. Practice and cultivate there's that word cultivate and meditate upon these duties, throw yourself wholly into them as your ministry, so that your progress may be evident to everybody.

  256. Look well to yourself, to your own personality and to your teaching.

  257. Look well to yourself.

  258. You know what that means.

  259. That just means to guard your reputation.

  260. You're always looking to yourself, you're always checking yourself.

  261. You're even checking your own personality, and obviously you're looking over what you're teaching, what's coming out of your mouth, what kind of influence are you having?

  262. And it says preserve in these things, hold to them, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

  263. And so it was really important for him to meditate on his calling, to meditate on his duties.

  264. Paul is telling Timothy hey, man, don't ever forget what happened when you, when the Holy Spirit spoke, when you got prophesied over, when elders laid hands upon you and so practice and cultivate that.

  265. So you're getting out of the weeds.

  266. You're pulling all of anything that could distract you, anything that could overtake your thoughts, anything that could overtake your life.

  267. You're ripping those negative thoughts out, the bad way of thinking, the negative mindset, a victim mentality.

  268. You're pulling all of those things out and you're focusing on the calling and the gifts that God's given you and your purpose and the plan that he has directly for you.

  269. You know I say this every time I preach.

  270. But God has something specifically ordained just for you to do that you, that only you can do.

  271. I can't do it, selina, can't do it, pastor can't do it for you.

  272. We'll pray with you, we'll believe with you, we'll teach you, we'll mature you into what God has for you.

  273. But you've got to make the decision to do it.

  274. You've got to change your mindset and begin to see yourself actually accomplishing and doing what God has for you and not allowing yourself to be shy.

  275. Not, you know, our theme in youth right now is bold as a lion, and so Selina is really drilling into those young people the need, the importance to be bold, that God called you to be bold.

  276. He didn't call you to be.

  277. That's not what meek being meek means.

  278. James preached a good message about that, maybe a year or two ago.

  279. It was really good.

  280. But just the word meekness and what that means.

  281. It doesn't mean to be weak, it means to be bold and stand up for the truth, stand up for righteousness.

  282. And so it starts with our mindset, it starts with how we think, it starts with our thought life.

  283. And so again, number one, we need to realize and recognize that we are in a battle, that the devil really is out to get us, but we have the victory, amen.

  284. But know that we're going to you, know we're going to put on the whole armor of God it's a prayer armor and we're prepared for battle.

  285. And then we're going to prepare our mind for action.

  286. Then we're going to meditate on the word of God, and then we're going to meditate on the promises of God and the calling of God that he has for each one of our lives amen.

  287. Individually.

  288. And then pray that, calling out over your kids, pray that calling out over your spouse.

  289. I encourage you to do that.

  290. We do that a lot in our house.

  291. We pray over each other all the time, just encouraging one another in our gifts, and so, like that's really the conversation.

  292. Going home in just a little while We'll be like, hey did I do?

  293. Okay, I know I have.

  294. I'm fishing for a compliment, maybe, but my wife is really good at encouraging me and finding something that I said that was good and lifting me up and likewise, and so like, be a good encourager to your spouse, be a good encourager to your kids, whether it be through sports, whether it be through music instrumentation.

  295. You know, just looking back over, you know, both my kids are adults now and we're so proud of both of them.

  296. You know, talking about your mind, I had this example.

  297. I didn't use it.

  298. So I don't know, a month ago, ethan's my son.

  299. He plays the drums, just in case you didn't know.

  300. And so about a month ago, we were coming on the way to practice and he's like, hey, dad, will you help me?

  301. I'm gonna switch the whole drum set around and I'm gonna play left-handed.

  302. I said what You're gonna do what?

  303. And so it took like 30 minutes.

  304. We only had like 30 minutes and literally everything had to come off and switch all the microphones around, and so everything just reversed and I'm like, can you even play this way.

  305. And so we started practice and thank God, it was one of those practices where we talked a lot, where I talked a lot, so we had like an extra 20 or 30 minutes to finish putting it together and then we started practicing and I forgot that he even did that and so he's just playing everything's backwards.

  306. You realize, it's like me reversing my guitar and playing left-handed.

  307. There's just there's no way.

  308. But he so he's been playing that way for a month and I'm telling you, nobody noticed, right, like he's just as good as ever.

  309. Okay, james, just because the louder cymbals are further away or everything's, yeah, you just notice everything's backwards.

  310. What's wrong with it?

  311. So that makes it impossible for anybody else to come in and play.

  312. It's like we would have to spend an hour putting everything back.

  313. But so I'm like, why did you do that man?

  314. That sounds incredible.

  315. But he just so literally everything that your right brain and your left brain, everything swaps.

  316. And he just did that for a brain exercise so that he didn't get bored, and it pushes him to be better and to get better, and so I was just so impressed.

  317. It's like only a genius would do that.

  318. But anyways, we really are proud of our kids in every area and so.

  319. But you really do, you have to encourage one another how to think, and it's not, it's something you can't just talk about.

  320. You have to live, you have to be that example.

  321. And you know, everybody's working on their thought life, everybody's working on their love walk and everybody's working on their confession, me included.

  322. So I know, if I ever let a bad confession come out of my mouth, my family's going to be right there to tell me with it Amen.

  323. But you know, let's meditate on God's word, let's be more Christlike in everything that we do and everything that we say, because, like I said earlier, we're running out of time.

  324. He's coming back soon.

  325. Let's get to work, let's remain faithful, let's remain.

  326. I was going to give y'all.

  327. That was what was on my back page.

  328. I had a whole lot of meditation scriptures.

  329. How about we just hit like just a handful of those instead of all 20 that I had?

  330. But you know, really, let's just, let's just go over the Psalm 119 one.

  331. You know, psalm 119 is when you get to that Psalm in your daily reading, normally I save that for the 31st day and just attack it.

  332. It's the longest chapter in the Bible and I know all of y'all have it memorized from start to finish, but it is filled with good meditation scriptures Psalm 119, 15.

  333. I will meditate on your precepts and contemplate your ways.

  334. I will delight myself in your statutes and I will not forget your word Verse 119, 23.

  335. Princes always sit and speak against me, but your servant meditates on your statutes.

  336. In other words, hey, let them talk about you.

  337. You're not worried about that.

  338. You're meditating on God's word.

  339. Amen.

  340. 119, verse 48.

  341. My hands also, I will lift up to your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes Verse 78.

  342. Let the proud be ashamed, for they treated me wrongfully, with falsehood, but I will meditate on your precepts Again.

  343. Hey, people are going to talk bad about you.

  344. No big deal, you're not worried about it.

  345. You're meditating on the word of God.

  346. You're meditating on these scriptures.

  347. Maybe I can send these out to anybody who's interested.

  348. But really you can look up the word meditate and your concordance, and it's good to meditate on meditating.

  349. You know scriptures about meditating right and so really helps our thought life.

  350. Amen.
