Let's pick up our Bibles, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad.
-
Let's get into the Word tonight.
-
Let's say this together say Heavenly Father, I'm so glad to be in church.
-
I know it's Super Bowl Sunday.
-
Oh, I'm so glad to be in this church on this 27th anniversary.
-
I have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to me tonight.
-
I have a teachable spirit.
-
I'm not just a hearer, but I'm a doer of the Word in Jesus' name.
-
Let's look at Romans, the eighth chapter, and we'll get into some meat.
-
How many of you can chew and cut some meat?
-
Three people, all right, thanks God, and we'll have a blender after the service.
-
We'll blend it up for you.
-
Add a little milk.
-
Glad that she has to have to add maple syrup to the kid's breakfast.
-
They wouldn't eat anything unless they had maple syrup on it.
-
Cook this big old breakfast, have sausage and eggs and toast, and about six ounces of maple syrup made it to where it would go down.
-
So if we have to sweeten it up a little tonight for you All right.
-
Romans, chapter eight, verse one.
-
Now, of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum.
-
We have such a high, that's Hebrews.
-
What am I doing?
-
I know, see, y'all thought what in the world have I made a mistake?
-
No, pastor made his only mistake he's made in the last 15 years.
-
All right, here we go.
-
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit, for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
-
See, I have now over the first part of that verse for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus and I'm putting now there If you can't write in your Bible, put it under glass, it'll go, get you a Bible you can write in, and then I have has made me free for the law of sin and death I put yesterday.
-
So what I had you know, you don't ever pay for things that you did yesterday, that's under the blood Made me free from the law of sin and death For what the law could not do and that it was weep through the flesh.
-
God, sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemns sin in the flesh.
-
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.
-
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the spirit, everybody shout that's me, mind.
-
Mind is understood, verb there, mind the things of the spirit.
-
In other words, pay attention to the things of the spirit.
-
Because the carnal mind, say the fleshly mind, the death doomed mind, the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed, can be.
-
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
-
So I'm talking about being spiritually minded.
-
That's the title of this message.
-
Everybody say being spiritually minded.
-
So verse six.
-
For to be carnal minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace, those words life.
-
There is the Greek word zoe, which is the God kind of life, or life as God lives it.
-
That's what Jesus came to give us.
-
He gave us.
-
He came to.
-
He didn't come to make bad people good, he came to give, make dead people live.
-
And how do we live?
-
We live the God kind of life or we live the life as God lives it.
-
Just think about it.
-
We live the life as God lives it.
-
We live the life as God lives it.
-
Just think about that.
-
We live the life that God lives, which is eternal.
-
That's our life.
-
We get so caught up in this world and the carnality and the flesh and all of that and that's gonna do what that's gonna keep us from life and peace.
-
Life and peace belongs to the spiritually minded person.
-
So spiritually minded means that you have life as God lives it and peace and peace, which in the Hebrew piece was Shalom.
-
Now, we know that that wasn't written in Hebrew, but I mean, you know Paul is a Hebrew of Hebrews, he's a Pharisee, so I mean he's thinking in Hebrew.
-
You know he's thinking in Hebrew.
-
He's thinking about Shalom.
-
So you know, a spiritually minded person has access to shalom, which is really when you look it up in your concordance.
-
The Hebrew word shalom means health, prosperity and peace, being able to sleep at night.
-
A lot of rich people can't sleep.
-
A lot of Democrats can't sleep.
-
Their agenda is falling apart right before their ears.
-
I bet the squad can't sleep.
-
Everything they ran on is completely falling apart.
-
Pelosi can't sleep.
-
You know she's good as dead.
-
She'll never be speaker because the Democrats are going to lose the house and she'll be too old.
-
Two more years she'll be, probably, or teeth will be falling out.
-
She won't be able to run for the speakership.
-
Pastor, you're being so ugly.
-
So everybody say spiritually minded.
-
So spiritually minded, in other words being controlled by the Holy Spirit, being filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit, affects your thinking, affects your mind.
-
If it doesn't, then you're not really spiritually.
-
You know you're not really filled with the Holy God.
-
What does it mean to be filled with the Holy God?
-
Well, you know it means more than just speaking in other tongues.
-
It just means that you're filled to overflowing.
-
You just you know you just filled to overflowing, and that takes time.
-
It takes work to stay that way.
-
Why?
-
Because you're always giving out.
-
If you're a believer in today's day, you minister to people without even really realizing that you're ministering.
-
I was talking to James.
-
You know he, you know he's got a political office, but it's all ministry.
-
He's always ministering to people.
-
I mean he's got they.
-
They seek his counsel.
-
He's giving them the Word of God.
-
I mean he's ministering to their needs, he's praying for them.
-
He is giving out and giving out and giving out.
-
Well, you know what, on the flip side, if he, if he's not careful, he could empty out and then he wouldn't have really anything of value.
-
So what?
-
He's got to stay full of the Holy Ghost.
-
And when you do stay full of the Holy Ghost, then you are going to be spiritually minded, be spirit ruled and spirit dominant.
-
And I can say it this way your human spirit will rule you and your human spirit will dominate you.
-
Be spirit dominant, yeah, full of the Holy Ghost too.
-
But your own spirit starts to get more dominant, your own spirit, which is the part of you that lives forever, that's the part of you that there is no condemnation, that's the part of you that is blood bought.
-
Then your spirit starts to take control over your mind and your flesh.
-
Your, when you get full of the Holy Ghost, you become spiritually minded.
-
Now then you start making decisions from God's perspective.
-
You know G, you know God said in Isaiah 55, he said my thoughts are higher than your thoughts, my ways are higher than your ways.
-
He didn't just stop there.
-
He basically showed us how that we can have.
-
What are his thoughts?
-
Well, this is his word, this, this is these thoughts, these are his ways.
-
So when you renew your mind and the Word of God, you start to think like God thinks.
-
I like to put it this way you start to get God's perspective.
-
If you can get God's perspective about things, you're going to go a long way toward life and peace.
-
You're going to live God life as God lives it, and you're going to have shalom all the way down the line.
-
Does that mean that you're not going to have trouble?
-
No, you'll always have trouble.
-
You'll always have trouble in this world.
-
Jesus said in the world you shall have tribulation, but when you got the life of God, living life as God lives, it, has God intimidated ever?
-
Do you suppose the Holy Ghost in you is like?
-
I asked this question a while ago.
-
But do you think he gets upset?
-
Do you think that he's worried.
-
Do you think that he doesn't understand what to do next?
-
Has he ever at the end of his rope?
-
No, never.
-
So when you're tapped into that, your spirit then takes on the characteristics of the Holy Ghost.
-
I tell you the Holy Ghost, if you listen to him, he'll make you look smart.
-
Amen.
-
I'm talking about being spiritually minded tonight.
-
And so everybody say God has a perspective.
-
We say it like this God has a side, god has a side.
-
You've heard me say that, but I like to say it this way too God has a perspective, we adopt his perspective, we're automatically on the right pathway, right there.
-
I mean, it aligns us that we don't have to pray about blessing.
-
Oh God, bless me on this thing.
-
Oh God, give me with.
-
Listen, when you've got his perspective on any subject, you're lined up, you're living your life as God lives his and you've got shalom health, prosperity and peace.
-
Glory to God.
-
Let's look at 1 Corinthians, chapter two now, and where Paul talks about I like what brother Mark said, one of his.
-
I can't remember the preacher that he talked about, can't thank the preacher that said this, but I believe it's true that the epistles that Paul wrote were the thoughts of Christ that went unuttered and went with him to heaven, that he never got to preach and teach, and so it was given to Paul by revelation.
-
When he went to heaven he said, you know, it happened to me.
-
I can't say whether I was in my body or out of my body, I just don't know.
-
But he had the visitation of Jesus and he actually saw about communion.
-
I mean, he, you know, jesus, taught him about communion and what, what it means to receive communion, all of that.
-
And so he went to heaven and received of the Lord's hand the message that he wrote in his epistles.
-
And I do believe that's right, that these, that these epistles contain the utterances that Jesus didn't get to utter on earth.
-
He, he, he left the earth before he said them.
-
So Paul got to say them and we get to read them, amen.
-
So let's look at 1 Corinthians, chapter two.
-
Let's see, let's well, we'll start with verse six.
-
Whatever, you know, we don't care what's going on with the game.
-
I mean, you know this is more important than the game.
-
All right, how?
-
Verse six?
-
How be it?
-
We speak wisdom among them that are perfect or mature, yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world that come to not, but we speak, the wisdom of God and a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory, which none of the princes of this world knew, for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
-
But, as it is written, I have not seen nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for them that love him.
-
But God hath revealed, see, if you stop right there, you just say, oh well, you can never know.
-
You know, god has so many good things, but I just don't know.
-
No, he says.
-
But God has revealed them unto us by what His spirit?
-
For the spirit searcheth all things, yeah, the deep things of God.
-
For what man knows, the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him, even as the things of God knows no man but the spirit of God.
-
And we know this that the spirit of man and the spirit of God are co-mingled on the inside of us.
-
You really can't even tell where the spirit of God ends and the spirit of man begins and vice versa.
-
They're all in there together.
-
So whatever the spirit picks up from heaven.
-
Whatever the spirit knows about God in heaven and what's going on is going to get communicated to your human spirit.
-
So when you become spiritually minded, you're going to automatically know things that you wouldn't ordinarily know.
-
He's going to show you things that you wouldn't have known were belong to you.
-
That's why this church is what it is, because God showed me some things that I had no idea belonged to me.
-
I had no idea that it was in my inheritance.
-
Brother Osteen passed away.
-
I knew I got something, but I didn't know what it contained.
-
I knew I was left something of great value, I just didn't know what it was.
-
Well, look around.
-
This is it the influence this church has.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Yeah, now we have received not the spirit of the world verse 12, but the spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given us of God, which things also, we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but with the Holy Ghost teaching, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
-
But the natural man or the carnal man receive it, not the things that are given to us.
-
Receive it, not the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him.
-
Neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
-
See, there again the advantage of being spiritually minded.
-
You'll never know.
-
You'll never know what belongs to you.
-
You'll never know what really you're here to do.
-
Why did God select you to live in the last days?
-
You'll never know it unless you're spiritually minded, are y'all?
-
With me now Amen.
-
But he that is spiritual, everybody shout that's me.
-
See, quit looking at yourself in the natural and quit thinking about yourself, perhaps how you've been treated by others.
-
Maybe you haven't been respected, Maybe people don't really recognize who you are for what you are.
-
They just kind of hit the high spots.
-
Well, that's on them.
-
You don't have to worry about how they you know.
-
And that can be at home.
-
I mean your own parents.
-
Sometimes parents don't really realize what type of person you are, especially if they're not with where you are spiritually.
-
Or maybe your siblings don't.
-
That's very common, I said that's very common that siblings don't understand where you are.
-
They don't know what you know.
-
They haven't paid the price you've paid.
-
They cannot possibly.
-
They're currently minded.
-
You're spiritually minded.
-
You're on a different wavelength, are y'all with me now?
-
This is your family right here.
-
Amen.
-
But the natural man received not things of the spirit of God for their foolishness unto him.
-
Neither can he know them, because they're spiritually discerned.
-
But he that is spiritual verse 15, judges all things.
-
My margin says discerneth, disserneth all things.
-
Yet he himself is judged or discerned of no man.
-
In other words, you don't care that much about what people think.
-
You just want to know what is it that God has for you, what does he expect from you?
-
And you're gonna leave what other people think of you up to God to give you favor in the direction that you need to go in.
-
I mean, he gave me favor with Brother Osteen.
-
I never could have done it myself.
-
I couldn't have devised a way to approach him.
-
I could not have ever been next to him.
-
There's no way I could have gotten anywhere close to him.
-
He had scared it.
-
If I'd have tried to just do it, you know, but just because I wanted to, it never would have happened.
-
Somehow, some way.
-
God gave me favor with that man.
-
I'll tell you, god can put you right next to where you need to be, amen.
-
But he that is spiritual, judges or discerneth all things, yet he himself is discerned of no man.
-
For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?
-
But we have the mind of Christ.
-
That's where I was headed with this whole bunch of verses.
-
We have the mind of Christ.
-
We have the mind of Christ.
-
Why?
-
Because we've got the Holy Ghost living on the inside of us and we have determined that we're gonna be spiritually minded.
-
We're not gonna be carnally minded.
-
It's a choice.
-
I said it's a choice.
-
I mean who wouldn't wanna choose life and peace?
-
Glory to God.
-
I'm gonna choose life the way God lives it.
-
I'm gonna choose a shalom.
-
But you can't have it being carnal, you can't have it being emotional.
-
I mean, really modern Christianity is just a big old ball of emotion.
-
The more emotional people can get you, get them whipped up into a frenzy Boy this morning.
-
That wasn't emotional.
-
I mean, the spirit of God hit this service this morning.
-
You could just I'll tell you what I thought.
-
The rapture was gonna occur.
-
I mean we just we took off.
-
People were standing up.
-
It was Sunday morning.
-
This place has had more people in it than I've seen in a while and man, I mean they got their money's worth.
-
They had a lot of nothing at the Super Bowl, but we had the real Super Bowl, we had the supernatural bowl here.
-
Everybody say I got the mind of Christ.
-
Say you have the mind of Christ.
-
When you're spiritually minded, you have the mind.
-
Just think about this.
-
You have the mind of Christ.
-
You see how little the church has settled for.
-
You just settle for much of nothing.
-
You settle for a bunch of baloney, a bunch of theories.
-
I like what Brother Hagin said about theories.
-
Theories is a supposition based on ignorance of the subject under discussion, and that's how most people get at church.
-
They get the preacher's theory that he got from his cemetery I mean his seminary, that's as dead as a cemetery.
-
Are y'all with me now Talking about the being spiritually minded?
-
How amazing.
-
And so I've been thinking of a lot of these things.
-
These times they said oh, it's early yet.
-
How many of you got an appointment?
-
You need to hurry out real quick.
-
Praise God, it might take me a little while to get this out, but it's worth listening to Because it's our anniversary.
-
It's our anniversary.
-
When I went to Galveston last month, I spent some time meditating on how we got where we are and went over a lot of things that God had given me over the years.
-
I was rereading some information God gave me in my dream life.
-
Gladys and I had taken a little time off a few days, went to San Antonio see my brother and then we drove over up to Bernie, texas, and just kinda walked around the square and looked at the antiques and stuff and it was getting late and we were gonna have to drive back to the hotel and then next day we're gonna go back home.
-
We'd been gone just a few days, two or three days, and the kids were working.
-
So they called us on the phones.
-
That Dad the lender called and they've approved us for a loan, but it's lower than what we asked for and so at that stage this was 2002, we had moved into the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the church down the street which was Champion Forest Baptist.
-
At the time We'd leased that for 13 months and then, when they sold it out from under us, we had to move real quick and thank God that we were able to lease the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
-
They were there on Saturday, we're there on Sunday and Wednesday, and so that's where we were.
-
But we had this property down the street, which is now Champion's Crossing, right down the street here, 92.7 acres.
-
We had bought that land, we owned it, we were making payments on it and we had planned on building a church there and we had applied for a loan and the loan was just not enough to pay what we owed on the property and then build the building.
-
We owed $600,000 on the property, on the price, and then we had to build the building.
-
So you had $600,000 to what it cost to build a building which we estimated at the time it was too cheap.
-
It was too cheap, but at the time we had estimated 2.2, so we had pried for 2.8.
-
And they turned us down and you know they're just so.
-
It was disappointing news.
-
My point I was really, really tempted to become discouraged because I mean, you know, here we are kind of like vagabonds.
-
We're stuck in this seventh day church.
-
They're not a real happy to see us.
-
They weren't happy to see us down the street.
-
They had spies.
-
We'd have a service, like we had this morning, and they'd see it.
-
They didn't like it, they didn't, and they'd go back tell the pastor oh, it totally goes.
-
People, they're right down there.
-
I mean, religion is.
-
You know, religion sucks.
-
You know it really does.
-
It sucks so well, I had a dream.
-
I mean, I got back home, had a dream and in the dream I entitled it.
-
I entitled my dream.
-
Someone's in the kitchen with pastor, someone's in the kitchen.
-
I know Someone's in the kitchen with pastor and I know it's the holy ghost.
-
So I'm in this dream, I'm in my kitchen and there's a young man and he is working like a house fire.
-
You've never seen anybody move.
-
It's kind of like Superman.
-
He was moving everything out of our cabinets, pulling the dishes all out of our kitchen cabinets, putting on.
-
We had an island He'd be pulling everything out and rearranging to everything and clattering and man, it's loud in there and I'm standing around.
-
I'm just amazed at what he's doing.
-
I'm impressed with what this young man's got blonde hair sticking out of a gimme cap, you know, looked like he had a work shirt on, looked like a, you know, a construction worker of some kind.
-
And then on in the kitchen window, right by the kitchen window, I see Gladys' car pulling in and she's going on her side of the garage.
-
I thought, oh, I better meet her at the door.
-
She's not.
-
She's not going to understand.
-
Somebody in her kitchen rearranging everything in it.
-
She's very particular about where she has everything.
-
How many of you women can relate to that?
-
You don't want somebody moving the spoons and the knives and changing the cups and the saucers and the anyway.
-
So she came in the back and I said honey, honey, now just give it a chance.
-
What are you doing?
-
If I catch it?
-
She was really not a happy camper and you know, I tried to calm her in the dream and tried to calm her down.
-
I said it's all going to be better, you're going to like it and she did.
-
Somehow in the dream she wound up like it.
-
And then I woke up from the dream.
-
I said what's in the kitchen?
-
Well, there's vessels, vessels.
-
And this has been several years since we had had a big church blow up.
-
When we moved out of the Baptist church into the seventh day, about half our church left us and I mean I was, I mean I was lied about and our family was, it was.
-
It was a tough time and I, you know, you think you know that you did the right thing.
-
But you know, sometimes, after I got turned down for that alone doubt started trying to eat at me and try to think well, you know, maybe I, maybe I miss God somehow better, I'm going to have to find out what happened.
-
God didn't want me to waste any time.
-
Because I?
-
Why?
-
Because I had his perspective all the way through.
-
I was on his side.
-
He wasn't on my side, I was on his side.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
God gave me that dream.
-
To comfort me.
-
He said I've rearranged all the vessels.
-
It's going to work a lot better.
-
All the ones that weren't working for you are gone.
-
How, you've got the right people at the right place, you can grab a vessel and use it anytime you need to Glory to God, everybody say I'm a vessel of honor.
-
You know, he's not looking for gold vessels and silver vessels, he's looking for yielded vessels.
-
So then, so you know, we got back in contact with the lender and, and you know, five days later I had another dream and I call it my caboose dream.
-
So in the dream I'm in a caboose, I'm in the bathroom and the bathroom is located on the very back end of the caboose.
-
So if it's a typical caboose, a caboose is the last car on a train.
-
So you know, typically you don't have the bathroom way back there.
-
You've got windows and all that You've got to be able to see out of the caboose.
-
I would think the bathroom would be someplace else besides in the back of the caboose You've got to have.
-
You know, you've got a little stairway and the guy you know with the lantern and all that stuff.
-
So but I'm in the bathroom and then I mean this caboose is rocking back and forth like this.
-
It's man, it is rough and I'm alarmed.
-
I come out of that bathroom and I turn the corner out of the little short hallway into the main room.
-
You look straight ahead and you see this panoramic window and right here to my right is a metal rod with a big three-foot metal steering wheel and this same young man that was in the dream cleaning out our cabinets is driving the caboose and he's got a railroad hat, you know, one of these striped, black and white, striped railroad hat, and he had blonde hair sticking out from underneath his railroad hat.
-
See, it's the Holy Ghost.
-
Again.
-
He's driving the caboose like this.
-
Now, I'm not thinking that in the dream, I'm just looking at this young man and he's going like this.
-
He's not at all disturbed, he's just, you know, he's just going with the flow and we're going back and forth, rocking back and forth.
-
And I look out those panoramic windows and there ain't no tracks and there ain't no training in front of us.
-
We're either by ourselves or we're dragging cars behind the caboose.
-
How can that be?
-
The last shall be first and the first last.
-
When I woke up, that's what I thought about, and so I looked off to my right and here's this huge train.
-
It had engines that disappeared in the distance.
-
There were so many engines locomotives, diesel locomotives Boy, the smoke was pouring out, all of them.
-
They're maxed out and you couldn't see very far back.
-
But I mean, I figured it must be a real long, long train because they had so many locomotives pulling all those and they weren't making very much progress.
-
We were past them like they were standing still.
-
They must have been going about 20 miles an hour.
-
We're going about 50 in the dream.
-
And then I looked off to my left and I saw another set of train tracks and I kept looking and way in the distance.
-
A mile down the track I see smoke and the train had derailed and crashed and all the cars were piled up like you'd see a massive destruction of a train derailment.
-
And I woke up and God was showing me that I didn't have to be alarmed, that the Holy Ghost was driving the train.
-
It's a little rough, but we're not confined to any train tracks.
-
The train on the right was the type and the shadow of churches that have adopted all these programs.
-
They got a program for everything, a program for this, a program for that.
-
I mean if God spoke to them to change direction.
-
They can't change anything.
-
They can't even slow down, they can't speed up, they're so overloaded.
-
All they can do is maintain what they're doing, and they've got to go where the train tracks are laid.
-
We can go anywhere we want to go.
-
The Holy Ghost is driving our little caboose, and off to the left was the church that.
-
All those people that lied about us and left the church and left us when we needed them, we needed their help.
-
They weren't willing to be yielded vessels.
-
They decided not to stay in our cupboard, stay in our cabinets, and so the Holy Ghost is the one that removed them.
-
They think they left, but no God, the Holy Ghost removed all of them.
-
They all landed 20 or 20 something odd families landed at a church where the pastor was arrested for raping his staff member.
-
So they traded me for a rapist.
-
He was guilty.
-
I said he was guilty.
-
He took advantage of this poor woman and she had marriage trouble and she went to her pastor and he took advantage of her and he plead out and was able to plea bargain, which he had done before in his history with a 16 year old girl in his youth group 20 years before.
-
See, none of those people knew what they were doing.
-
They left our church and that church shipwreck.
-
He left with all of the tithe and went to Dallas and started another work and all the tithe money that they stole from us.
-
What do you say?
-
They stole it.
-
Well, they should never have left.
-
I mean, god didn't release them.
-
They left because they didn't like our plans.
-
They didn't like the fact that we're a regional center.
-
They didn't like the fact that we didn't buy the Baptist church.
-
They all wanted us to buy the Baptist church.
-
Well, I didn't have a witness to buy the Baptist church.
-
I'm going to go buy the witness.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
But you know, all that together within five days was a comfort.
-
It was a reinforcement that we were right on what God wanted us to do not to be dismayed about the loss of that loan.
-
So I just took my hands on.
-
I said well, god, you know we've done all we can do.
-
Now it's up to you.
-
Just, whatever the next move is, I'll be glad to take it, but I don't know what's next.
-
I mean, these guys are kind of their ex preachers.
-
The lender was, you know, they're all ex assembly of God preachers, kind of religious.
-
They're not professional lenders.
-
They don't know what they're doing.
-
They don't know when a when a deal should work or when it shouldn't.
-
I'm here, I'm a real estate professional, 25 years home builder.
-
I've bought and bought a lot of money.
-
I know something about borrowing money and they were silly.
-
What they wanted and what they were.
-
They were skinny on the, on the amount they were lending.
-
How can you hamstring us on the front end of a project?
-
We can't even build anything for that kind of money.
-
So a couple of months went by.
-
Oh, no, excuse me, just a few days later.
-
Let me see when.
-
It was later that month.
-
So that was June.
-
Later that month, after this these two dreams, five days apart, I got a call from our ex landlord and the in the, in the person who held the note on our 92.7 acres, and that was the land deal.
-
He said John, I've got a big tax problem.
-
I didn't know it at the time, but 9, 11 it occurred.
-
Remember, the stock market fell after 9, 11.
-
I mean that had just happened a few six, seven months before then.
-
He was shorting the stock market.
-
He made $20 million.
-
While the stock market went down.
-
He had a tax problem.
-
He said Listen, john, I need you to give me that land back.
-
Deed it over to me, I'll forgive the 600,000 you owe and I'll give you the $9.7 million down on the corner, free and clear.
-
Double miracle.
-
I said a double miracle.
-
See how did God do that?
-
Because I stayed spiritually.
-
I'm not bragging on me, though, but I'm just an example of staying spiritually minded instead of letting my flesh get in the way and instead of getting all upset about that loan being denied.
-
You know when that deal, when that deal happened, let me tell you.
-
Those lenders heard about it.
-
We called them, said hey, guess what happened to us?
-
By that time, they had hired a real professional that I had known before when my home building career.
-
I knew him, and he came and visited and said Pastor, what do we have to do to do business with you?
-
I said Give me the money I need to build a church.
-
Well, that sounds like something we can do.
-
I'm glad to hear it, because I haven't heard it so far.
-
And so, instead of 2.7, it wound up being $3.7 million that we borrowed to build the first phase of this building.
-
Glory to God.
-
Spiritually minded.
-
You know, I have not seen, neither ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love him.
-
But if you stay spiritually minded, you're going to find out what God's perspective is.
-
You're going to find his favor and wherever it is that you're supposed to be going, amen.
-
And I'm telling you, god did it.
-
God did it.
-
So three things, real quick being spiritually minded.
-
Number one meditate on the Word.
-
I just stayed in the Word of God the whole time.
-
You know, the whole time I'm preaching every service, having prayer meetings, going to prayer meetings and everything else.
-
We just kept on doing what we were doing.
-
We didn't stop meditating on the Word.
-
Joshua 1-8,.
-
You know, he said this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night.
-
Then you shall make your way prosperous, then you shall have good success.
-
God wants you successful, he wants you prosperous.
-
Meditate in the Word and then second your prayer life, especially praying in thumbs.
-
I'm telling you, praying in the Holy Ghost Prepared me to have spectacular guidance.
-
That's what I call dreams and visions.
-
Those are spectacular.
-
I'm willing to go on the witness of the Spirit alone.
-
I never asked God for a dream.
-
I never asked God to visit me in visions, and all that Never.
-
I'm prepared to go on the witness alone.
-
But you know, when you pray much in the Holy Ghost, I mean you just open the door for God to guide you any way that you need to be guided.
-
And in this case he was merciful to me to give me a couple of dreams back to back.
-
That helped me and it's helped me all these years later.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Romans 8, 26 says let's read it.
-
Romans 8 is such an important chapter 26,.
-
Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what to pray for, not how to pray.
-
We know not what to pray for as we ought.
-
But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered An intelligible speech, really.
-
Basically, that word groanings means you're glossolated, means you're prayer language.
-
It doesn't mean that you have to groan and cry on your.
-
You know some people go into groanings and all of that that's included in that.
-
But I don't do that very often.
-
That's only a couple of times in my life that I've ever had that come upon me.
-
Anybody know what I'm talking about Groanings in the Spirit, people that are intercessors, who do a lot of interceding for others.
-
I mean, they develop that gift.
-
But what it's talking about is praying much in the Holy Spirit.
-
When you do, you're edifying your Spirit, you're building your Spirit up, you're becoming spiritually minded, you're getting yourself filled with the Holy Ghost, and so then the Holy Spirit can use you to pray in the proper way that your mind cannot conceive of.
-
I couldn't conceive of my former landlord and my present note holder making all this money in the stock market.
-
I mean, everybody I knew was losing money making money.
-
That guy he bought all this property out around here during the 80s that we had this real estate crash that hurt my business.
-
Back in that day I was here when all that happened.
-
He took advantage.
-
He started buying property from the Resolution Trust Corporation, which is the FDIC.
-
When banks had loan money on a bunch of land all out in here, thousands and thousands and thousands of acres right here in this whole area, they started taking it from banks.
-
The banks went broke.
-
One of the major banks that I had done business with for years went belly up, fired their bank president because he made some bad loans A lot of people made bad loans in the 80s.
-
I mean that's when everything went crazy.
-
Oil went down to $6 a barrel.
-
I mean you can't make a living in the oil business with $6 a barrel of oil.
-
Everything went upside down.
-
It was catastrophic.
-
Houston had a depression, not a recession, and I lived through that.
-
So this guy did too, but he made bunches of money.
-
What did he do?
-
He got on their list and he bought money.
-
He bought property for pennies on the dollar.
-
He bought the subdivision I live in right now.
-
He bought it for pennies on the dollar.
-
It was bankrupt subdivision.
-
The water district had been belly up.
-
He bought the subdivision and he owned the subdivision and all the vacant lots.
-
He built his own house there.
-
Then he got builders in there and one of the builders that he got wound up building my house for me.
-
It was amazing the connection.
-
And so that guy has made a ton of money.
-
He's still out here.
-
He's still out here in the real estate business and he's still not saved.
-
I'm just believing the seed he sown is gonna get him saved.
-
We just count him, we just believe he saved, amen, amen.
-
So prayer will get you into the mind of the spirit.
-
And your spirit will be so built up by praying much in other tongues that it will be able to communicate to your mind what it knows.
-
So much of what I know is because I pray much in the spirit and that knowledge comes up Somehow.
-
I can't explain it, it just comes up and there's a knowing.
-
There's a knowing in my mind what God wants.
-
God doesn't talk to your mind, god is not talking to your mind ever.
-
He's not a mind, he's a spirit.
-
He's talking to your spirit.
-
But you, when you pray much in other tongues, your spirit can communicate what it knows.
-
Amen.
-
And finally, the last one is just doing the word.
-
You have to be a doer of the word, not a hearer.
-
Only.
-
You have to forgive people, you have to love people and be a blessing, be a tither, be a giver.
-
Sow your seed, boy.
-
We sowed seed during those years.
-
We moved into that seventh day church.
-
God said, okay, I want you to give some money.
-
First thing we did was we cleared the land over there.
-
Anybody remember us?
-
We hired.
-
God told us to clear the land and get it so we could even walk on that property down the street.
-
So we had just moved into this seventh day Adventist church in November and then in January the next January we hired $32,000 worth of caterpillar dozers.
-
Two of them Cost us $32,000 to use them.
-
All the month of January they ran all over that property.
-
They cleared all the little scrub brush, piled it all up and I mean you could look at it, you could.
-
We used to have picnics out there and then in April all the weeds started growing and they grew up this tall and I was out there and I was thinking, god, I knew this would happen, but I thought it'd last a little longer than just two bucks.
-
And God said what are you gonna do about all these weeds?
-
I said what do you mean?
-
What am I gonna do?
-
He said what are you gonna do about it?
-
You can't leave it like this.
-
So we had to go buy a tractor and we bought a $28,000 Kubota tractor and somebody in the church wrote us a check for that $28,000 tractor I'm talking about.
-
I has not seen nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those that love Him, but God has revealed them to us through His Spirit that is in us as long as we can stay spiritually minded.
-
Come on, lift your hand and receive tonight Hallelujah.
-
How many of you like life and peace.
-
Isn't that a better deal?
-
Life and peace.
-
Everybody say life and peace, amen.
-
Praise God, did you get anything out of this?
-
Was this worth coming to church tonight?
-
Amen.
