Let's all stand back up, wave your Bibles around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad.
-
Let's say this together say Heavenly Father, I'm so glad I was here today.
-
It's been so great and it's not over yet.
-
I've got ears to hear what the Spirit is gonna tell me today about my life, about my ministry.
-
And I will improve, I will grow.
-
I'm going from one level of faith to the next, one level of strength to the next.
-
In Jesus' name, amen.
-
Let's look at two places First John, chapter two, and also Luke, chapter four.
-
First John, we'll start with that one.
-
First John, 2.27.
-
And this is the apostle John writing to the church to believers.
-
He said but the anointing which you have received of him abideth in you.
-
So believers have received, when you get saved.
-
You received an anointing that abides within Everybody.
-
Say the inward anointing, all right.
-
And then let's look at Luke, 4.18.
-
Jesus is speaking in his own hometown, at his home synagogue where he grew up, and he said boldly in verse 18, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to five groups of people the brokenhearted, the blind, the bound and the bruised.
-
That's what I like to say.
-
We could read it all, but I just wanted to emphasize that he said the Spirit of the Lord was he's anointed.
-
The Spirit of the Lord was upon him.
-
Everybody say the anointing upon.
-
So we have the anointing within and Jesus had the anointing upon and we also have the anointing upon.
-
I wanted to talk today and start a series entitled Understanding the Anointing.
-
Understanding the anointing.
-
First, corinthians 12 said that we should not be ignorant concerning the things of the Spirit, and a lot of people get confused about the anointing.
-
They get confused about the Holy Ghost and of course we talked about Overcomer, we talked about the fact that the greater one lives on the inside of us, and it's also called the anointing.
-
You know the word anointing is in the Old Testament, the New Testament.
-
It just simply means.
-
An Old Testament means grease or oil, and when you see the word anointing in the New Testament, it means smearing, it means like we're marked, and so it just means that every believer should have and be sparkling with the supernatural.
-
Every believer not just you know what we call the five fold ministry Apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist, teacher and all that we're supposed to.
-
Every believer has the inward anointing by virtue of the new birth, and then there is available an anointing upon you which you receive when you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with evidence of speaking in other tongues.
-
Now, I'm not saying that people that aren't filled with the Holy Ghost don't have an anointing.
-
I mean, they do have an anointing, but it's much less of a measure than if they just follow the Bible prescription for these things.
-
You know, jesus said it in Acts 1.8, you shall receive power.
-
After that, the Holy Ghost has come upon you.
-
Well, the Holy Ghost was already inside of them, so he's talking about a different thing.
-
See, we've got to rightly divide the word of truth.
-
Anointing means one thing in one way and anointing means something else in another way.
-
So I like to say the inward anointing or the anointing within either one of those is true has to do with your personal relationship with God, because where does God live?
-
See, our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost which you have a God, so he's inside of us.
-
And where does our spirit, where does our spirit reside?
-
In the same place.
-
And so, ideally then, if we pay more attention to the inward anointing, then we will be in a place where communication with the Holy Spirit is much more sure and much more clear to us.
-
I didn't say voice, I didn't say listening to voice.
-
A lot of folks are just waiting to hear a voice and God is communicating with them all the time, but they're unable to realize that it's God communicating to them.
-
Why?
-
Because they're inward anointing.
-
They haven't paid enough attention to it.
-
Brother Hagin used to talk about people that don't walk by the witness of the Holy Spirit.
-
You know they're always listening for voices.
-
They're always looking for somebody to give them a word.
-
You know we gave some words this morning, but those are rare.
-
You might have two or three of those in a whole lifetime.
-
You know, I mean, if you wait for to have a word from God about your situation, well, you might be waiting a long time.
-
You might.
-
You know you might go die and go to heaven before you ever realize.
-
And all the time he's communicating.
-
So the inward anointing has to do with your personal relationship with God and he wants a rich fellowship.
-
Everybody's coininia You've heard that word.
-
Coininia it's fellowship, it's partnership with God Almighty, and that's the inward anointing.
-
Everybody say the inward anointing, and so next week I'm gonna talk about the anointing upon, because that has to do with ministry.
-
It has to do with how you, and so every one of our volunteer ministries when you step into your volunteer ministry, then you're functioning in the anointing upon, hopefully.
-
I mean sometimes people that aren't taught, maybe they come here just in the flesh.
-
Well then you can kinda tell when people just do things in the flesh, because it's not that effective.
-
You know the anointing upon, you know I like what brother Mark Hankins says you know, tap into the Holy Ghost, he'll make you look like a genius.
-
Amen, you might not be a real genius, but you can act like a genius.
-
You know the Holy Ghost can say things and do things through you.
-
So, and that's how we ought to minister to others, we ought to minister with the anointing upon.
-
But the anointing upon is so dependent upon the anointing within, because when you have a weak anointing within and you can have an anointing upon I'm thinking about preachers now.
-
Sometimes preachers, they get so busy.
-
This is the message that I've been all over the world.
-
I've taken it to the Philippines, I've taken it to India, taken it to Canada, I've taken it to Mexico.
-
I've taken it a lot of places and my message usually is to other ministers, because that's what I feel like I'm called to do is to go and add value, to help wash the feet of other ministers and not, you know, just to give them what I have and then they can take that and add to what they already have and then they're better off.
-
You know, I'm not there to change everything about them.
-
I'm there to add.
-
I'm there to add my perspective, add some of my experiences, add an anointing that they may lack, and when I leave, then they're better off, amen.
-
But my message to them is don't get so busy working for God that you don't spend any time with God.
-
I mean, you can work, work, work, work, work.
-
And I know a lot of do-gooders.
-
They just do good, they're do-gooders, do good.
-
Oh, I wanna do good, I wanna they don't spend any time with God.
-
You know what?
-
It's just doing everything in the flesh.
-
They're doing everything just in the natural.
-
No, the church has got to be sparkling with the supernatural and these messages on understanding the anointing is the key for the church to step in to the supernatural, amen.
-
So we're gonna talk more today about the anointing within, and so you know we've got.
-
I can just jump over here to three points.
-
I'll leave you Because we had a demonstration of the anointing upon this morning.
-
I mean, you know that's a demonstration, yeah, so the anointing within see a lot of that demonstration is because and I'm bragging, I'm just reporting I spent a lot of time on the inward anointing.
-
I spent a lot of time early this morning on my inward anointing, pray it in the Holy Ghost, reading my Bible, getting ready for the service.
-
And while I'm doing that, all of a sudden I'm seeing Cindy and I'm seeing Bryce and I'm just seeing the ricochets and God starts charting what he wanted to do.
-
You know what he wanted to do, and so there may be some things we left off of the plan, I don't know.
-
Or there's some people we could have prayed over, some things that we didn't talk about.
-
Well, you know we'll get to them, amen.
-
But I want the Holy Ghost to have his way.
-
It's always the best way to go.
-
So increase the anointing within.
-
How many of you interested in knowing how to do that Say there's a way for that anointing to grow on the inside?
-
The Holy Ghost doesn't grow.
-
The Holy Ghost is the Holy Ghost.
-
He's the greater one.
-
All the time he was the greater one the minute you got saved, he took up residence on the inside of you.
-
But the part of us that grows is our spirit.
-
Are you with me?
-
We're all born as babies, aren't we?
-
We're born as babies and so we're born again as babies.
-
Our spirits are infants, our spirits just don't know much.
-
Our spirits are brand new.
-
And so I remember when I first got saved and I was 33 when I got saved and I, me and I, me, and all of a sudden, and even before I got baptized in the Holy Ghost, I started hearing God's voice.
-
He started talking to me about things.
-
He talked to me in the shower.
-
He talked to me.
-
He talked to me and talked to me, just blabber, blabber.
-
I was just amazed and then one day he quit talking and I thought I was backslid.
-
What happened?
-
Well, he's expecting now for me to grow up enough to quit relying on him talking to me.
-
He wants me to walk by faith.
-
He wants me to read my Bible.
-
He wants me to open my communication, the channels of my communication.
-
It's not always hearing a voice Talked about that earlier.
-
So some people have never grown enough in their inward anointing to get past the babyhood stage of Christianity.
-
And just like a natural baby.
-
Natural babies need a lot of attention.
-
They want what they want.
-
When they want it, they cry and moan and groan until they get it and they're ungrateful once they got it.
-
They don't say a word of thank you, they just take it for granted that this is what I'm should have.
-
That's a baby right, and the church is filled with babies that should be teaching others.
-
Hebrews, chapter five.
-
You know when, for the time you ought to be teaching others, you have need of people that need milk.
-
You need milk all over again when you should be eating meat.
-
Amen, all right.
-
So to increase the anointing.
-
See that.
-
Let's do our part, god.
-
We have a part to play.
-
God has a part to play.
-
We have a part to play.
-
If we don't play our part, god will be satisfied with you staying a baby your entire life.
-
Some people never develop in the inward anointing.
-
They live and die and go to heaven with their spirit locked up, as it were, in prison.
-
They don't take advantage of the inward anointing.
-
They don't take advantage of the communication that we have with God.
-
Everybody say the inward anointing, all right.
-
So the first thing is our prayer life.
-
You're gonna increase in the inward anointing with your prayer life, a dedicated prayer life.
-
If you show me a person whose prayer closet is empty, I'll show you somebody that they mature.
-
They might have been mature over here, but you know, the thing about spiritual growth is there's only two places to be.
-
There's either growing and increasing or there's decreasing.
-
There is no status quo, there is no tread and water, there is no arrival.
-
I've graduated now, thank you.
-
Yes, I'm a graduate of Holy Ghost Academy.
-
I've learned everything there is to learn.
-
I know it all.
-
There's nothing.
-
See, that person has already gone down, cause you can never, you can never arrive, you can never graduate.
-
Amen, there's always more, and if you don't realize that, then you quit seeking for it, don't you?
-
So if your prayer closet and I like to tell people, the greatest thing is praying much in the Holy Ghost, the baptism of the Holy Ghost gives you a prayer language, and we like to say well, the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for the outward anointing, it's for others, and salvation is for us.
-
Well, that's true in a sense, but the baptism of the Holy Ghost also, though, gives us a supernatural communication, prayer language that goes beyond our brain tissue, where we can speak when you pray in other tongues.
-
Your spirit prayeth Amen, and your understanding is unfruitful, which is why the devil will fight you so hard to keep you from praying in other tongues for more than about a minute, or having the habit of having emergency tongues, only praying in tongues when there's an emergency, when something has already exploded, the landmine has gone off, the shell has landed, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
-
But you train yourself.
-
Part of discipline and discipleship is training yourself to do things that, with your mind, it just seems unprofitable.
-
Well, it is unprofitable for your brain.
-
He that prayeth in an unknown tongue.
-
His understanding is, he doesn't understand it, but his spirit prays.
-
His understanding is unfruitful, and so you know.
-
You're tempted, then, to start answering the emails.
-
Well, I got a text message.
-
I better find out who that is.
-
The phone is ringing, I've got to check that.
-
I've got uh-oh ding Facebook message and, before you know it, your time has been eaten up by the cares of this world and you haven't spent any time in your prayer closet, which is where you need to be in order to develop your communication with God Almighty, I mean the greater one.
-
I would rather know what he knows than hear all this other noise.
-
Most of it's just noise anyway, amen.
-
And then, of course, praying the word.
-
You can pray the word.
-
I believe in reading the word and meditating on the word.
-
Really, when you pray the word it's kind of like meditating the word.
-
So let's look at Ephesians, chapter one, and there are numbers of what I call Holy Ghost prayers in the epistles that Paul prayed for the churches, and Ephesians chapter one is just one of those.
-
Powerful.
-
Ephesians one and two, and verse 14, or verse 15, excuse me, ephesians one, 16,.
-
I cease not to get thanks for you making mention of you and my prayers, and then he tells you what he's praying for the Ephesians.
-
Well, we can pray the same thing, and this is a prayer I pray for myself every day.
-
I consider it part of what I do to increase the inward anointing.
-
I'm asking God for three things in this prayer, and I'll tell you what they are.
-
I cease not to get making mention of you and my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of him.
-
We can pray to know God better.
-
The spirit of wisdom and revelation.
-
Revelation knowledge is the cornerstone.
-
It's the cornerstone, it's the cornerstone, it's the foundation.
-
You know, when Jesus said who do men say that I am?
-
And Peter said thou art the Christ, the son of the living God, blessed art thou.
-
Simon Barjona, flesh and blood didn't reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.
-
Now your name means little stone, but upon this rock, the rock, what Rock of revelation knowledge I will build my church.
-
So revelation is a foundation, revelation knowledge.
-
And you can pray for revelation knowledge.
-
It doesn't do you one bit of good to pray for faith.
-
That's not how faith comes.
-
Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God.
-
But you can pray for revelation or understanding.
-
And when you pray for understanding of God, then you're praying for understanding of the Word.
-
That's a scriptural prayer.
-
Now, you're not going to get much praying at one time.
-
You're not going to get much praying at it for a week.
-
But if you pray it every day for a year, let me tell you something God will open up the Word of God and you'll see things you never saw before.
-
Now I'm talking about increasing your inward anointing.
-
And the Word of God is in prayer.
-
See, it came from prayer and spending time in prayer.
-
Pray these prayers, I'm telling you they're powerful.
-
You can pray them for yourself, you can pray them for your spouse, you can pray them for your children, you can pray them for others.
-
But again, one time shot in the dark is not much.
-
You've got to stick with it.
-
So you're praying, then, for a revelation of who God is.
-
You know.
-
You're praying for that revelation of God the Father.
-
Some of us didn't have very good fathers.
-
Some of us didn't even know who our earthly father was.
-
He left.
-
My mother never knew her father.
-
He was killed in a train wreck before she was born.
-
And so when you grow up without a father, or maybe your father is not that good, you know what you need to get really acquainted with God the Father, amen.
-
So that's what this prayer does.
-
And then it says pray that the eyes of your understanding begin to lighten.
-
I like one version.
-
It says be flooded with light the eyes of your understanding, in other words your spirit eyes.
-
Your spirit has five senses.
-
It's got the spirit, it's got the sense of sight, and they can be, and your spirit eyes can be, enlightened to know what, to know what is the hope of His calling.
-
You know God has a call for every one of you.
-
You're outward anointing relates to your calling.
-
Well, guess what you're not going to know what you're outward anointing is for until you pray and get a revelation of what your calling is?
-
A lot of people just are just floundering.
-
They're moving around, they're flopping here and flopping there.
-
They really don't even know what their purpose is.
-
Well, if you'd pray, god would show you.
-
He would show you what you need to be busy about, your calling, the hope of your calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
-
We talk about our inheritance.
-
God has an inheritance in us.
-
God has created us to bear fruit.
-
He's looking for the fruit in our lives.
-
I saw that so clearly with Bryce.
-
I saw the fact that he had had fruit on his tree and here he is.
-
They took him out of his position, they set him over here and God's got this hole he's going to set him into and he's already got fruit that's going to benefit the future company, wherever he's planted.
-
That's God's inheritance in him.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe?
-
Everybody say that's me.
-
See, we're praying for a revelation of that greatness, of that power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at His own right hand in the heaven and the places far above.
-
So the great power of our authority, the believer's authority, is so necessary in the church and there's so little teaching on it.
-
So little teaching.
-
That's why I teach on it all the time.
-
God told me years ago teach what you take for granted, because we have new people that show up.
-
They've never been taught their authority.
-
They don't know that they have.
-
They don't have to beg God to do stuff.
-
Do you have authority in the name of Jesus?
-
Kick the devil out of your house, kick him out of your body.
-
Tell him to leave your finances alone, your career alone.
-
Say, we talked that, we teach that.
-
What do you got to wear?
-
You got to keep on the whole armor of God, got to make sure of that.
-
We've talked about all this recently here, about overcoming and about the power of the blood, and this this started relates to the, to that whole issue, and your inward anointing hat is to how you can relate to God and how you can receive information and communication from God, cause he was to communicate his will to you.
-
So you pray the word of God, see, and you pray in the Holy ghost, and you pray every day.
-
You pray, for you know, a lot of times we just cut ourselves short and we, god bless Aunt Sally and God bless uncle Joe, and God bless.
-
Well, you know that's not very effective.
-
You're just wasting a lot of time.
-
Hey man, start looking at your prayer list and find out who authored it.
-
I mean, you're always praying over people that are deadheaded.
-
They've been the same for 50 years.
-
Why don't you get over into the ripe harvest and find out from God what it is that you need to be praying?
-
I would pray these Ephesian prayers for a while.
-
Ephesians, chapter three.
-
Here's another one that I pray every day, verse verse 16,.
-
I pray that, father, that you would grant unto me, according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might by your spirit and my inner man.
-
That Christ may dwell in my heart by faith.
-
That I, being rooted in, grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints whether it's the length and depth and breadth and height.
-
Know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge Now unto him that is able to do, exceeding abundantly all that I dare ask or think, according to the power that worketh in me.
-
To him be glory in it.
-
Church throughout all ages, world without endowment.
-
How many of you know, I've prayed that a few times and there's prayers and Colossians, there's prayers in Philippians, there's prayers in Philemon, there's prayers all through the epistles that we can pray over ourselves and others.
-
And we're doing two things we're praying it and we're meditating on it, which is my second point.
-
If you wanna grow in the inward anointing, you need to read it.
-
In the inward anointing, you need to read your Bible and meditate in the Word, especially in the epistles.
-
See, the whole Bible is for you, but it's not all to you.
-
Right now I'm in the book of Job.
-
I read two chapters in the old, I read Psalm, five Psalms and one proverb.
-
So that's a lot of Old Testament every day.
-
Then I don't read just two chapters in the new, but if I do that, then I'm reading through the Old Testament about once a year, the New Testament three times a year, psalms and Proverbs once a month.
-
That's a pretty good balance of diet.
-
That's my intake and now that I've done this for decades, I'm not religious about it, I don't just, sometimes I just camp out.
-
I probably won't camp out in Job.
-
Job is hard to read.
-
Why?
-
Because it's just a bunch of baloney.
-
Most of it it's God's Word, it's Holy Spirit.
-
Well, you gotta understand about Job.
-
See, people quote Job all the time.
-
Well, I'm just like Job.
-
Oh then you're a double portion man.
-
You're gonna have twice as much, You're gonna have a new family.
-
Wow, that's your Job.
-
That's pretty good, you're healed.
-
Hey, job was.
-
See, you gotta remember that.
-
About Job, let's not count him out.
-
His wife said cursed God and died.
-
Thank God he didn't.
-
He blamed God, though for a long time After chapter of blaming God Ba, ba, ba, ba ba ba.
-
It's hard to read in all these friends.
-
Who needs friends like that?
-
But see, the thing that sustains me through reading all of that is that I need to see it, I need to know it and I need to know the end from the beginning.
-
The end is it.
-
At the end of it, god shows up and heals Job when he prayed for his friends to get healed because they all got sick.
-
Every one of them got sick messing around with Job.
-
Now I pray for your friends and I'll heal them.
-
And when he did, god healed Job of all those sore boils and all that nasty stuff.
-
He was fighting and God gave him twice as much as he had before and God gave him a new family Boy with a wife like that.
-
He needed a new wife.
-
Man curse God and die.
-
Really, the whole thing happened.
-
See, you've got to understand that Job is the oldest.
-
Most Bible scholars say I don't know why I'm on this this morning, but if you're going to just do a Bible study on Job, be prepared You're going to meditate on a lot of junk.
-
Well, it's good work.
-
Well, I know it's in there, but it's not for you.
-
But anyway, getting back to Job, it's one of the.
-
It's the oldest book in the Bible and the Bible is progressive revelation.
-
So when they wrote Job, they didn't know anything about what the devil did.
-
They didn't know anything about what God did.
-
They didn't know anything about the covenant.
-
And the key to the whole thing is the thing that I greatly feared has come upon me.
-
That's number one he was afraid he let the devil in.
-
Number two he did not correct his worthless family.
-
He had boys and girls that were rich, rich, rich, and all they could do was party, party, party, and all he would do.
-
He knew what we were doing wrong and all he could do was offer sacrifices so that somehow God wouldn't judge them.
-
Well, he should have put all these sacrifices down and went over to their rancho and said the gravy train is over.
-
There's not going to be any more distributions from the family.
-
Trust until you get right with God.
-
No more partying.
-
If I hear about another party, I'm trying your well up.
-
You get out here and make some money on this wealth that you've been given.
-
See, this is the thing.
-
They were rich, they didn't have to work, so they partied and he let them and they died, right, remember?
-
I mean, they all died.
-
That's kind of sad.
-
Well, the devil did it, not God.
-
Well, god allows everything.
-
We allow when we're afraid, we open the door for Satan to steal.
-
So if you're gonna talk about Job, talk about it from a revelation of the New Covenant.
-
Somebody needed this.
-
This morning, anyway, you know, I talked to a guy who used to sell me clothes and I finally just got rid of him because he was good at selling clothes.
-
He was a Jewish guy, really good at selling clothes, but he was a drunk, and so he would call me at night, when he was drunk, you know, and he would leave me an hour long voice back in those days, had the cassette tape, voice message deal and on and on, blah, blah, blah.
-
You haven't been the same way, I gotta say.
-
I gotta say I gotta say drunk is Cougar Brown, see?
-
And so I quit going to him.
-
So then, a couple of years later I run into him and I said, oh no, I thought I was done with him and he had gotten saved and he's going to first baptism.
-
And I mean, then, now he's every time I see him, you know he's got some kind of terrible trial and some kind of problem with his home life.
-
I won't get specific, but I try to help him.
-
But it's like trying to help a grasshopper.
-
You know, the grasshopper is hopping over here, hopping over there, and he just didn't know anything about the Bible.
-
And you know, here he is, he's a Jew.
-
He got to know the Old Testament.
-
And so I said, well, let me ask you something.
-
I mean, you go to church every.
-
Yeah.
-
I said, well, what has your pastor been teaching you?
-
So, oh, we're on a study of Nehemiah.
-
We'd been in Nehemiah for six months.
-
I don't know.
-
I don't know.
-
I mean he'd been studying the Old Covenant Nehemiah that's only slightly easier to read than Job Six months, oh, I said, are you going to Bible school or something?
-
Look, you need to get somewhere where it'll teach you who you are in Christ.
-
You're a new creature now.
-
What I'm a what?
-
What'd you say?
-
He'd never heard a second for anything's 570.
-
He never knew.
-
He didn't know who he was in Christ.
-
He didn't know he seated it at the right hand of the Father in heavenly play.
-
He doesn't know squat, or where you go to church matters, amen.
-
So pray much in other tongues.
-
Pray the word of God, pray, have an active prayer life.
-
God is waiting for you to hear your voice and that will enable your spirit to grow and where you can have a communication with Him.
-
You may not hear His voice, but you will know what he wants.
-
You know.
-
You had no doubt.
-
In your knower Number two, you read and meditate the word.
-
It just, it expands your communication with the Father.
-
And then, finally, the last one is be a doer of the word.
-
You know when the Bible says walk in love, then you're gonna have to check up on your love walk.
-
You know how easy are you to get along with?
-
Say, how easy.
-
That's a good thing to ask yourself.
-
See, if you don't ask yourself that question, then you're really not Let the word.
-
When you read it, you can ask yourself a question how am I doing on this one?
-
Right here, and most of the time, if we're honest, we can find places to improve.
-
We can find the gaps between what we knew, what we know and what we're doing.
-
See, there's always a we know to do right, but we're doing not that much.
-
So there's a gap.
-
If the gap is like this two feet you ever try to walk upstairs with two foot, you know in between the steps I mean you're gonna stumble.
-
So they got to.
-
Let's pull those gaps down now.
-
Let's get those gaps down.
-
Let's require more of ourselves.
-
See, that's what the word will do for you.
-
Reading your Bible will grow.
-
The inward anointing, and everybody say the inward anointing.
-
See, this is where you're connecting with God.
-
And so when I go around and I talk to preachers and I say you know, don't spend so much time working for God, don't spend any time with God, the reason I say that is because it's so vain.
-
You're just doing a bunch of do good stuff.
-
Holy Ghost is not offering your ministry, the Holy Ghost is not really anointing your ministry and what you're doing is mostly vain.
-
And I'll close with this illustration.
-
Brother Hagen talks about a preacher during the voice of healing days back in the 60s, I believe it was, and back when they had tents, healing tents Brother Roberts had one different ones had these big tents and this guy had a 10,000-seater.
-
Can you imagine?
-
I was watching an old film on Ringling Brothers, barnum and Bailey and what it took for them to erect their tent.
-
And that tent wasn't near as big as this preacher's tent but they had 18 wheelers, they had cranes, they had these drills.
-
They drilled down, augured down in the ground to put the center poles.
-
It took an army of people just to erect the tent.
-
I mean it was a big and I got to thinking about this preacher.
-
So we had a lot of people working for him, he had a staff, he had all this big army of people to help him do what he did and he had the most amazing anointing upon him.
-
He had miracles like you couldn't believe.
-
People just never saw anything like it.
-
One service, if this is the wheelchair section, 16 people or something like that in that section were in wheelchairs and during the service and he was preaching, they all got up and walked out of their wheelchair.
-
Gordon Lindsey, who was kind of the head of that voice of healing movement, he tried to keep all the preachers in relationship to each other.
-
So they're, you know, they've got egos, you know They've got pride and stuff.
-
So he's got to try to keep them humble and keep them in relation with each other and keep them where they're not competing and all is a challenge.
-
And so Gordon Lindsey, which he started Christ for the nations in Dallas.
-
So he once said about this guy he just got more faith than I've ever seen.
-
Well, it was the gift of faith.
-
It wasn't faith that he had of itself, it was the gift of faith to do the miracles.
-
That's the gift of the spirit.
-
So anyway, the Holy Ghost came on Brother Hagin, who was functioning as a prophet, and he didn't look for this.
-
But the Holy Ghost said I want you to go visit with so and so I want you to tell him he needs to judge himself in these three areas.
-
If he doesn't, he's going to be coming to heaven.
-
He didn't say I'm going to take him.
-
He didn't kill him.
-
God doesn't kill people, but when they die he receives them and but he doesn't judge himself.
-
You read 1 Corinthians 11 about communion and how we need to judge ourselves Unless we be judged.
-
Say judge yourself.
-
He needs to judge himself in three areas.
-
Number one he needs to judge his love walk.
-
He's arrogant and rude and he mistreats his staff.
-
Number two judge himself on his diet.
-
He's gluttonous 400 pounds, huge guy, just mm, mm, mm.
-
Look, we can't feed our flesh like that.
-
And when you're gluttonous and you just ignore it, you give yourself permission to just do whatever you feel like doing.
-
Well then your body's not your own, it's the temple of the Holy Ghost.
-
You can't do that.
-
You're violating God's temple.
-
So judge yourself on that.
-
And judge yourself on money, because when that 16 people got up and walked, he shut the service down and received an offering.
-
He would receive offerings on the heels of miracles, which is making merchandise.
-
Yes, now he was a rich dude and God's not against him being rich, god's not against him driving a nice car and having the best tent and all that stuff.
-
But you know he had gone beyond and started taking advantage of people's desperate need to be healed and they would give their entire life if they could get healed.
-
You can't do that.
-
You can't trade the anointing for money, you cannot.
-
And God comes to brother Hagin Now.
-
Why would God do that?
-
Because this preacher had ignored the inward anointing and he was not on speaking terms with the Lord anymore.
-
He wasn't reading his Bible, he didn't have a prayer life, he was just walking in his anointing outward, living by it.
-
You can't do it.
-
You can't do it because I'm telling you, when you do that, then you're going to come up and you're opening the door to Satan to steal your life.
-
And so he said I want you to go, tell him to judge himself, otherwise he's coming home.
-
Well, you know, brother Hagin didn't want that, he didn't want to hear that, he didn't want to have to do that.
-
But he attempted to obey and he saw him.
-
Finally there are paths crossed.
-
He saw him across the parking lot.
-
He started over there before he could get there, another car came up to him and started talking to him and then they left and he never got to talk to him until he heard that he was injured in a massive car wreck.
-
Guy's 38 years old.
-
He's near death.
-
Did God send the car wreck?
-
Well, he opened the door to Satan.
-
Why did God tell brother Hagin another person?
-
See that's judgment.
-
All by itself that means that you're not doing what you should do.
-
If a man of God comes up now, see some believer come up to him and tell him that that wouldn't be in order, but another person of equal or greater anointing comes to correct you.
-
That's why I have relationships with other ministries.
-
They know that they can tell me anything.
-
They see something they don't like, they tell me I receive it.
-
That's what's necessary.
-
Are you with me now?
-
And so he hears about the car wreck.
-
So they have a big prayer meeting.
-
Everybody's there.
-
They're going to pray over this.
-
Oh, brother Hagin, come up and pray for our dear brother.
-
And brother Hagin gets out in the aisle and he starts up.
-
And then the Holy Ghost says what are you doing?
-
I told you Don't you dare pray, he's coming home.
-
And so somehow something happened.
-
Brother Lindsey, just you know, brother Hagin, come on up.
-
You know brother Hagin standing there with his feet glued to the floor.
-
He did never take another step and so I don't know if the service just ended and he never did break.
-
So Aretha, his wife, says Kenneth, I want you to tell me what the Holy Ghost told you.
-
I saw that I want to know what's going on.
-
Well, he didn't tell them.
-
He didn't tell them that preacher.
-
He didn't even tell his wife he had.
-
He told her after the fact, but he went on to be with the Lord.
-
So later on he talked to brother Gordon Lindsey.
-
He said Gordon said I don't feel bad.
-
He felt bad that he hadn't been able to tell him.
-
And Gordon Lindsey said don't feel bad, I told him several months ago and he didn't receive it.
-
I told him the same exact thing, the same three things, and he would not hear me.
-
He said all things are going well.
-
I don't believe that God's mad at me at all.
-
He wouldn't be blessing me like this.
-
Oh, the inward anointing is so important.
-
Amen.
-
Let's major on our inward anointing and let the outward anointing take care of itself.
-
Come on, lift your hands and receive today.
-
Understanding the anointing.
-
Did you get anything out of this today?
-
Oh, hallelujah, this is the days that we're living in, where the church has got to rise up in the sparkling supernatural power of God.
-
The hallelujah, glory to God.
