Pick your bibles up and wave them around.

Make Jesus glad, the devil mad.
-
Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father glad to be here on Sunday night.
-
I'm one of the Sunday night fanatics.
-
I'm a fanatic over the word and over the spirit because I'm not satisfied with what I have.
-
I know there's more available and I desire more.
-
My name is Jimmy.
-
I'll take all you give me.
-
We thank you for it.
-
In Jesus' name, you got a brand new name tonight.
-
All right, let's look at first Corinthians, chapter two.
-
In verse one, paul is preaching too, as I mentioned this morning, a very carnal church, a church that had sin.
-
We don't have a sin problem because God took care of the sin.
-
Jesus took care of the sin, amen.
-
All we gotta do is confess our sin.
-
He's faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us.
-
And so you know, sometimes we get all hung up on what's wrong and we forget about what's right.
-
The blood of Jesus has just cleansed us.
-
And so here's this church.
-
It's carnal, it's immature, it's got factions, it's got people that are kind of clannish, with one group and another group, and I'm a Paul and I'm a Bapolos and I'm this and I'm that, and they even had kind of a scandal with a situation with a man and his stepmother coming to church and sin, and things were just kind of out of order.
-
That's why he had to.
-
He not only wrote one letter, he had to write two letters, two letters, two letters, two letters, yeah, yeah.
-
So I mean they're far from perfect, but he said you come behind in no good gift.
-
I just love the way that Paul saw it.
-
I mean, yeah, he didn't excuse the wrongdoing, he corrected it, but he didn't condemn.
-
See, the Holy Ghost never condemns, and I know there's a lot that we see around us in the world that's wrong.
-
But I'll tell you, god's got a space to move if we'll just believe him, amen.
-
So let's look at what he had to say here in the chapter two.
-
He said I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God, for I, determined not to know anything among you, saved Jesus Christ and him crucified, and I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling.
-
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words my margin says persuasive words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of power.
-
Why?
-
So that your faith should not stand or be in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.
-
And so tonight I wanna share a message entitled the Demonstration of the Spirit.
-
I wanna talk about it a little while because I want more of it.
-
You can have what you preach.
-
The more you preach about things of the spirit, the more you have them.
-
It creates a hunger in you Can't do it by yourself, can't do it I can't bring it by myself.
-
The worship team they get prepared, they practice, they prepare.
-
They can't bring it by themselves.
-
It takes a corporate effort, it takes a desire, it takes a hunger.
-
You can't fast and pray for demonstration, can't beg for it, but it comes by the Holy Ghost and it comes to people who are yielded, who don't care about looking a little foolish.
-
Amen.
-
I mean, I know that some of you you wanna prophesy, but you stifle yourself because you're.
-
You know, I've read where you know public speaking is one of the greatest fears most people have.
-
They can't stand the idea of ever getting up in public and saying anything in public because it just mortifies most people.
-
And so when you get up to prophesy, well, it's kind of nerve wracking.
-
I understand that.
-
I know the first time I ever prophesied at Lakewood Church.
-
It was mortifying.
-
My knees were having fellowship one with the other.
-
It was pretty nerve wracking but I determined, say, sometimes you have to determine some things.
-
Paul determined that he was not gonna use his education.
-
This man was a listen.
-
This guy was brilliant.
-
He wrote two thirds of the New Testament.
-
He was a doctor of letters.
-
Listen, he sat at the feet of Gamaliel.
-
He was a Pharisee of Pharisees.
-
He knew the Bible backwards and forwards and he said I was determined to know nothing except to bring a demonstration of the spirit and of power.
-
I only wanted to preach Jesus Christ and him crucified.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
-
So he brought a demonstration.
-
That's the only place in the Bible where that word is used, apodexus, and it means from a root.
-
That means showing's off.
-
So we could say, without really being wrong, that he brought a showing off of the Holy Ghost and of power.
-
That word power is dunamis, supernatural power, from the root word.
-
Where we get dynamo, where we get dynamite, amen.
-
So he brought the showings off of the Holy Ghost.
-
In other words, you know, the glory of God is the demonstration of the spirit.
-
We talk a lot about.
-
Glory is in our name glorious way church.
-
You know, I'm dumb enough to have argued with God about the name because I just thought it was hard to spell, it was hard to say and it was long.
-
I wanted something a little punchier.
-
You know you name it glorious way church.
-
I said Lord that's.
-
You get tongue tied saying that real fast.
-
Glorious way church.
-
Glorious way church.
-
But it speaks of the word and the spirit.
-
And so if any place is gonna have the glory, we're gonna have the glory in what is glory.
-
Glory is demonstration, demonstration of the spirit out of power.
-
Everybody say demonstration.
-
Demonstrated Demons are gonna be in dire straits when we get through with them, when the Holy Ghost is free to move.
-
I'm telling you right now, when the Holy Ghost is free to move and do whatever he wants to do and I'm not talking about just the preacher, I'm talking about the church Can I have a better amen?
-
Why?
-
Well, because so faith can rest and be and consist.
-
Our faith can be in the power of God rather than the wisdom of man or in the human philosophy.
-
That's what we get a lot of right now in the church Human philosophy.
-
Be enough that you don't know home or me.
-
It's mental.
-
I call it fluff and bluster.
-
It sounds like a cartoon show.
-
Yeah, tune in to fluff and bluster on Saturday morning.
-
That's about what it is Just a bunch of, you know, hermeneutics, a bunch of oratory None of that.
-
Paul was well able to do it.
-
I mean he debated with the Stoics and the different ones there in Athens, greece.
-
I mean, you know he's an intellectual, let's face it, he can hold his own with apologetics and he didn't choose to preach that way.
-
He chose to bring a demonstration.
-
Everybody shout demonstration.
-
Now how many of you want a demonstration of the Spirit in this church?
-
Well, that means you're willing to be part of it.
-
Then.
-
Demonstration is proof that God is present.
-
It brings transformation for believers, it brings conviction for the center.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-
The Word and the Spirit bring growth and it glorifies God.
-
You know, over here in 2 Corinthians 12 and his second letter, because they this young man that had brought his stepmother to church and open sin, everybody knew about it.
-
They said you know, you need to turn him over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, that his spirit might be saved in the day of judgment.
-
We don't understand that in modern church we don't understand how that can be.
-
But he hadn't repented.
-
There wasn't enough demonstration in the church as it was for him to feel any kind of feeling like he was doing wrong.
-
So churches, a lot of churches, are like that.
-
They allow cohabitation, they allow all kinds of things, they allow homosexuality and all this wokeism, they allow it and they even encourage it.
-
Well, you know, guess what?
-
The Holy Ghost isn't there.
-
He will not allow that, he will not be in there.
-
So he said look, you know, for him to repent, he's going to have to suffer a little bit.
-
Turn him over to Satan, don't have any fellowship with him, cut him off, don't let him come to church, don't have any fellowship with him.
-
And when he, he's truly saved.
-
Now he's saved.
-
But if he keeps going the way he's going, he's going to eventually get so hardened that he could turn away from God and he could get unsaved.
-
You know, once saved, always saved.
-
I only believe that for me.
-
You see, I was once saved and I'm always going to be saved.
-
But I can't say that about you.
-
That's your decision.
-
And when we don't have demonstration, people, just they go through life and they, they get off in ditches and they get off in the things that they shouldn't.
-
And you know, instead of being up here trying to tell people that don't do is and condemning people that that are doing wrong, hey, let's just let the demonstration of the spirit take over.
-
So in this case, they, they did they, they, they did their job or they're they're good at shunning.
-
And so I mean he did repent.
-
And in the second letter it says okay, enough, already he's repented.
-
Let him back in.
-
Love on him.
-
God leave, you've taken it and he's already repented.
-
Now don't, don't keep doing this.
-
Let the man back in the church pray over him.
-
Love on him, oh, glory to God.
-
You know, they didn't even know how to stop the process.
-
So in the second letter, listen to what he says.
-
He says surely the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, and in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.
-
The signs of an apostle were wrought among you.
-
Glory to God.
-
In all patience, patience, that's what he had.
-
He had patience with these people.
-
I mean they.
-
They were so far off, they had so many squirrely people in there.
-
I mean they had all these.
-
You know, and you know he had such patience with them.
-
And God mightly used the Corinthian church, and so I mean, just think about shaking off the viper into the fire and getting a whole isle of malta in a revival.
-
That's kind of a sign and a wonder and a mighty deed.
-
How about getting stoned outside of town and his staff praise around him in a circle and he rises up off a death you know and walks back into the same place that stoned him?
-
And we could go on and on.
-
How about preaching all night long until the boy falls out of the third loft and dies out on the parking lot, hits on the parking lot and he has to go and fall on top of him and raise him from the dead.
-
How about that?
-
One Glory to God.
-
The church needs signs and wonders and mighty deeds.
-
The church needs a demonstration of the spirit and of power.
-
Do we need teaching?
-
Well, sure, we need teaching, but we need the demonstration.
-
Everybody shout demonstration.
-
So we can either help or hinder the demonstration, and I'm not talking about just me.
-
I could, I can hinder.
-
I let pastors first on the list.
-
I mean the pastor, if he's just determined to make all three points of poem in the office voluntary and all of that, you know, and mention everybody's birthday and anniversary, and he's not.
-
He's determined that he's going to do everything on the list to do and he's not going to let the Holy Ghost get a foot into the service.
-
Well, you know, he's handling it already.
-
What's more important, the points.
-
I mean surely I like to give people two or three points to leave with, to have something to put in their notes, have something to take with them.
-
But you know what, if the Holy Ghost wants to interrupt me?
-
I've had to learn how to yield, I've had to learn how to shut it down and let him take over.
-
But then, on the other hand, so is the, you know, so is the congregation.
-
You can either help or hinder the demonstration of the spirit.
-
I mean, if you're determined not to be embarrassed, if you're determined not to do what the Holy Ghost has got in your heart to do Amen, amen Then you can kind of quench the spirit.
-
And if enough people do that, well, you know, if you don't respond, everybody say I'm a responder, everybody say I'm a first responder.
-
I mean, just learn to be a first responder.
-
I mean as soon as you feel the Holy Ghost moving across.
-
You know how many of you know what I'm talking about.
-
I mean, the spirit of God will just move across here and just you know it's what.
-
Respond to it?
-
You can stand up, you can twirl around, you can do whatever you need to do.
-
Sometimes, you know, people run, sometimes because the Holy Ghost comes upon, but sometimes people run just because they're thrilled.
-
Have you ever been thrilled in a service?
-
Amen.
-
So I, you know.
-
I just want to preach this to this, this crowd, because I want to see this happen Sunday morning.
-
I want to see the uninitiated see and experience demonstration of the spirit.
-
I want the church to move into a more consistent mode of demonstration.
-
I don't care if it's popular in the church at large or not.
-
We are a leader, we're a regional center, we're an example.
-
We're doing things that are rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.
-
Let's go ahead and rub Jesus the right way, let's rub the Holy Ghost the right way and he'll help us even more.
-
Amen, be a bunch of people pleasers.
-
Now, the kinds of manifestations that I'm talking about.
-
There are two kinds.
-
They're spiritual.
-
The spiritual demonstrations, or the spiritual gifts, are listed in 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, nine gifts of the spirit, and we break those nine gifts into three broad categories the vocal gifts, you know, the gift of tongues and interpretation and the gift of prophecy.
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
Vocal gifts the vocal gifts are the doorway into demonstration.
-
Without the vocal gifts you don't have them, much of anything.
-
And then you've got the revelatory gifts the gift of the word of knowledge, the gift of the word of wisdom, the gift of discerning of spirits.
-
Those kinds of gifts we routinely have here on Sunday nights.
-
Sometimes Sunday morning we have the other.
-
We had a gift of prophecy this morning.
-
We used to have more prophecy Sunday mornings than we do recently.
-
I don't really know what the reason is.
-
I think sometimes people, since we started preaching first, people don't know when to jump in.
-
Brother Dwayne jumped in right at the right time this morning after I preached.
-
He stood up and was recognized and I'm willing for that.
-
I want that to happen.
-
I want those of you that prophesied a prophesied and I think all of us ought to prophesy Amen, everybody say.
-
Vocal gifts, revelatory gifts, and then the power gifts, the gifts of healings, gift of working on miracles, the miracle operation of the gift of faith.
-
The gift of faith goes with miracles and healings.
-
It's different than laying on of hands, just regular.
-
You know that's the believer's ministry.
-
But the gifts of healings is different.
-
It's a gift of the spirit.
-
So it's a manifestation of spiritual manifestation.
-
And we've had spiritual manifestation for quite some time, but not as many physical.
-
The second kind of manifestation is physical manifestation running, leaping, we've even had rolling in the first building.
-
I mean we had people roll all across the front of the building.
-
I thought one lady was going to roll up on the platform.
-
It wasn't one step, but I mean it would have been a sign of wonder.
-
How did that happen?
-
You know, with the Holy Ghost, they just didn't care how they looked, they yielded.
-
Now are you trying to get that to happen?
-
I want it to happen.
-
I'll just tell you right now.
-
I want physical manifestations to happen laughter, drunkenness.
-
We've had smatterings of that.
-
We've had a little of that from time to time.
-
Brother Mark comes.
-
You know he'll bring a demonstration, but you know we ought to have that on a regular basis and we can have it if we just go ahead and decide that we're going to yield and that we're not going to quench.
-
Amen, the Holy Ghost.
-
Well, what if people get out of order?
-
You know we can always correct people sweetly.
-
I just.
-
We've been around a long, long time.
-
We've had all kinds of these at times.
-
At different times in this church, in every building we've been in, we've had the both sides of the physical and the spiritual and, I'd have to say, more spiritual than physical manifestations.
-
But really, you're not going to have a full manifestation unless you have a balance of both.
-
A balance of both is a, then what I call a full.
-
Brother Hagin taught this a full manifestation.
-
I'm after that.
-
I'm after a full manifestation of the Spirit of God because it's going to.
-
If we're going to have a revival, we're going to have to have manifestation.
-
It's not going to be the Billy Graham kind of revival.
-
I'm telling you right now, the Billy Graham type of preaching is gone.
-
Forget it.
-
It's going to take miracles, it's going to take the Holy Ghost.
-
Besides that, how many of the million of people that answered his altar call really got saved?
-
Anyway?
-
I'm not criticizing Billy Graham, I'm saying where are they?
-
Brother Osteen and I used to have some real good conversations about that subject and listen, I'm telling you, we need this last end time.
-
Revival is gonna have a full manifestation.
-
It's not gonna just happen.
-
We have to be willing to be the participant.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands right now.
-
Lord, I'm willing to yield myself, I don't care how I look to other people.
-
I'm willing to run, I'm willing to roll, I'm willing to laugh, I'm willing to be drunk in the Holy Ghost.
-
Man, I used to get drunk on a regular basis.
-
It's no fun the next day, man, it's horrible.
-
You get drunk on the Holy Ghost.
-
You feel great the next day.
-
In fact, you feel great the whole time.
-
You mean just to get drunk, to get drunk.
-
Well, you get full of the Holy Ghost.
-
That's what it means getting full.
-
We're told to get full.
-
We're just obeying God.
-
It's a whole lot better, it's a whole lot easier to drink with your friends.
-
You know, drinking alone that's pretty sick, you know, to drink alone.
-
I had some builder friends of mine that were alcoholic, bad alcoholics, I mean.
-
They drink by themselves.
-
They drink with us during the day and we'd drink up.
-
You know, I don't know how much beer we'd drink, but a whole lot of beer kegs.
-
But I always went home.
-
I did not go out.
-
They'd go home and get drunk at home.
-
I knew better because I knew I'd die early.
-
It was plain old fear that kept me, not the fear of God, the fear of Gladys kept me in line.
-
We're going to have an end time revival.
-
What about a revival?
-
Well, a revival is for the church.
-
You can't, you know, the world can't have a revival.
-
They're dead.
-
You don't, you know they're already dead.
-
They need reformation, but the church has got to be the.
-
You know, we are the instrument, we're the ones that are going to bring the fruit.
-
Amen.
-
So the revival is for the church.
-
I like this definition I heard a number of years ago Revival is the inrush of the spirit into a body that threatens to become a corpse.
-
You know, like when you're laying on the slab, you know, and your heart stops and they get the paddles out and they go, whoop.
-
That hasn't happened to me.
-
I did get a shock to get my heart in regular.
-
The last time, let's see, was the last time I was in the hospital, wasn't it that they had to convert my heart?
-
And they shocked me.
-
And I had a nurse that didn't know what she was doing and she put a bite thing in my mouth, in the center of my mouth, like that, right here.
-
Like that, you know it's supposed to go in your jaw, you're supposed to have this piece of a bite.
-
You bite down and so when they shock you, you know your mouth is going to contract.
-
Well, she put it right here, broke both of my cats off right here.
-
It cost me $3,800 worth of dental work to get out and when I got out of the hospital I had two broken teeth right here.
-
Well, you know, the shock of the Holy Ghost is painless.
-
You know it won't break your teeth.
-
Praise God, the inrush of the Spirit will make you feel good.
-
Revivals bring back what has waned, what has been de-emphasized.
-
Human beings, I say, you know we get, we get.
-
We get revival, we get.
-
You know, every revival has had just where everybody just gets on fire and everything's working, just great, people are getting saved, people are getting healed, and all of a sudden, just little by little by little, it just sort of wanes and wanes and wanes and everything that they were doing during revival they quit doing so, like, for instance, the Pentecostal revival.
-
They're speaking in tongues.
-
Well, they quit speaking in tongues because it was embarrassing.
-
People didn't like it, it's not dignified.
-
And they were rolling.
-
They were called holy rollers because they were rolling on the floor and maybe people I mean you know people I mean the banker, the president of the bank he comes to church.
-
He don't want to see people rolling on the floor, he's too dignified.
-
So, little by little, these things kind of die off and the Holy Ghost is quenched, quenched, quenched, until finally you can't find enough Holy Ghost to fill a thimble.
-
So God and His mercy will bring revival back and it starts happening and a lot of people try to fast and pray.
-
You know, get all these ideas about praying for it and all of that kind of thing, but really and truly the thing to do is yield to the Holy Ghost because he's already been poured out.
-
It's not something you can fast and pray because it's as the Spirit wills.
-
But do you will?
-
Do you will See.
-
I mean, when he comes upon you and you know that you need to run and you don't, or you know you need to prophesy and you don't, and you know you're getting drunk, but you quench it because you don't want to laugh anymore.
-
You're afraid to laugh too loud, because when you laugh real loud you snort.
-
Are you a snorter?
-
See, that's the key, that's the acid test is when people start snorting, you know they're drunk.
-
Oh, I've been in some meetings, man, I'm telling you right now, and some of them been right here in this church.
-
I mean I had some amazing, amazing meetings.
-
I've gotten drunk watching other people get drunk.
-
I was in Brother Sam Carr's church in Lake Charles no, not Lake Charles, not Lafayette either, it's Shreveport.
-
Brother Sam Carr's church in Shreveport.
-
Rodney Howard Brown was there and there was this dignified preacher.
-
You know I had a three-piece suit on vest and all that all dressed tie and all that kind of stuff.
-
And I mean, you know he looked like he was going to be up there on the you know the preacher, or something.
-
You know.
-
Here's Rodney in a Hawaiian shirt or something.
-
You know a big old Rodney, he could wear a moomoo.
-
You know he's huge.
-
Back then he's lost a lot of weight.
-
But Rodney and man, I mean the Holy Ghost was moving.
-
We were all just people were getting drunk, they were laughing and I watched this guy in front of me and he just slowly, you know he was trying to resist, but he just slowly got drunker and drunker and drunker and then he kind of got off of the pew and had on one knee in front of me and he had this comb over and the comb over got messed up and it was sticking up, you know, and he looked like a chicken, he looked like a and I just imagined, and he started.
-
He started kind of doing something with his finger like this, like in the air.
-
I don't know what he was doing.
-
He was like pecking or something I don't air pecking, maybe that's what it was, I'm not sure.
-
Exactly Like this.
-
He kept doing this, you know, and he was kind of doing his head and his hair was waving around and I got so drunk watching him that I was under the pew and so I was glad both of us were under the pew and Channel 22 was there filming all of it and Brother Osteen saw the replay.
-
He called me.
-
He said John, was that you under the pew?
-
Did you really get that drunk?
-
I said, brother Osteen, do I look like a faker?
-
I said the Holy.
-
He said my, my, everybody say, physical and spiritual.
-
So revivals come back.
-
They bring back doctrines that used to be taught, that are no longer taught.
-
Word of faith is brought back.
-
Word of faith teaching in the seventies brought back.
-
Of course Brother Hagin was teaching it in the forties, by himself pretty much.
-
Go teach my people faith.
-
And he did.
-
Thank, aren't you glad he did.
-
Forties and fifties, you had a healing brought back into the church, mighty healing manifestations in those big tent meetings.
-
Why were they in the tent meeting?
-
Cause the churches wouldn't accept what they were preaching.
-
See, in spite of the split, in spite of the disc, you know the, the, the lack of unity, god I mean God in spite of that, god can move, you know?
-
Just think where.
-
That's why God gave me that little phrase love plus unity equals miracles.
-
That's why we we've got to love one another, we've got to have unity.
-
I think the more we preach on this, the more hungry we're going to be in, the more realized we realize that that we can participate in bringing revival to this generation.
-
Our children need this.
-
Coming back from camp, those kids got so filled with the Holy ghost and I was talking to Jay and Selena and they just see a difference in some of the kids.
-
They're just different.
-
Well, we don't let that, let's not let that wane.
-
If they had that in regular service, we don't have to let it go.
-
I think the youth group and Alexandria brother Hankins church, his son and daughter-in-law church there and Alexandria.
-
I think that youth group is going to other youth groups and they're going to keep it going.
-
Wouldn't that be cool to have our kids keep it going?
-
We're regional center and we ought to have some of those kind of meetings.
-
Well, we need it right in here just as much as they do it out there.
-
I mean, it's not just for them, it's for us.
-
In the 60s, of course you know, they had the charismatic revival and the Holy Ghost spilled over into mainline denominations.
-
And when I was a member of full gospel businessmen I got to meet all kind of guys coming out of church.
-
One of my best friends church of Christ got filled with the Holy Ghost still went to the church of Christ.
-
Nobody liked him.
-
Everybody knew he spoke in tongues.
-
They'd go like this, get away from me.
-
And of course the 70s, the teaching and the teacher, even ministries came back.
-
Yeah, the teacher was gone.
-
All you had was evangelists and you had pastors.
-
That's it.
-
There was no such thing as apostle, there was no such thing as a teacher and so, prophet, you had evangelists and teachers and pastor.
-
No teacher, evangelists and pastor.
-
You didn't have the apostle, you didn't have the prophet.
-
And suddenly that started coming back and you started seeing shades of it in the 40s and 50s and then finally, in the 80s, the prophetic and the prophets raised up.
-
The 90s, the apostolic and the apostles raised up, and so let's just lift our hands.
-
Thank God for the Holy Ghost.
-
So brahmatah sa te vede ke te.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-
Well, I started hearing about some of this.
-
You know I'd read a lot.
-
Brother Stain was we had a move of the Holy Ghost in the whole building.
-
There were regular times when we would get in back before they went to two services.
-
I remember when they went to two services on Sunday morning, but before that that was in the old building, the one that they tore down, and in that building.
-
I just remember back in the mid to early 80s, you know, we would regularly have services where the Holy Ghost would move and I mean people would have holy laughter, people would come around the altar and they would kneel and they would weep.
-
I mean the spirit of God would settle over that big old crowd, 5,000 people, the atmosphere.
-
You cut it with a knife.
-
Now, there wasn't a lot of drunkenness that I saw, but there were beginning to.
-
They were beginning to have some manifestations of the Holy Ghost.
-
You know, brother Stain was Baptist.
-
Now most of the other ministers and ministries, like Brother Hagin, was Baptist but he spent more time around the assembly of God people than he did Baptist people.
-
He came out of the Baptist church because they didn't accept, you know, the Holy Ghost at all.
-
So he hung out in fellowship with Pentecostals and specifically assemblies of God.
-
So they were had that more of that flavor.
-
They were more used to that brother.
-
You know, brother Hostain I mean he's kind of conservative.
-
I never saw him drunk in the Holy Ghost.
-
Now he'd get happy, but I never saw him get into holy laughter and so he didn't really know, I don't think, how to manage that.
-
He loved the, he loved, he loved healing, he loved the word of knowledge.
-
I mean he would flow in part of the manifestations, the of the spirit side, but not the physical so much.
-
But we have a smattering of it.
-
But when we went to two services I remember that all ended because you had 830 and now you had to get out of there.
-
You couldn't have just.
-
You couldn't just let people just do anything.
-
You couldn't.
-
You had to have an end.
-
You had to have an end point, because at the 11 o'clock service people start showing up at 10 to park out there and now there's no.
-
You're going to have a parking mess, you're going to have people trying to get in the church.
-
It's still full from the early service and so you know, you had we start gently and just started.
-
It started getting less and less manifestations of the spirit.
-
Listen, I'm telling you right now I want the manifestation of the Holy Ghost.
-
I don't care what.
-
That's all well and good for us to get out at 1130 on Sunday morning, but you know what, if you know if is it going to kill somebody If we go to 1230, just to let the Holy Ghost do whatever he wants to do?
-
Maybe we don't do that every week, but you know, at some point in time we're going to have to let the Holy Ghost do what he wants to do.
-
So I had to go outside of Lakewood to find out some of this stuff.
-
I read my books and I went to other meetings and stuff.
-
I went to a meeting here in Houston friend of ours having a meeting and invited us to come.
-
We came on a Saturday.
-
We were both pretty tired.
-
We'd been in, I think, the convention or something at Lakewood.
-
This was a Saturday, we were free, so we went and she had a guest.
-
He happened to be a prophet, a guy from here in town Later got to know him, good guy, and he was ministering and he had an altar call.
-
How many of you are here?
-
I just know some of you here are just really tired and you need a refreshing and glad as I went up.
-
We don't ever get prayed for.
-
At Lakewood we did all the praying.
-
We were the ones sitting up front and we were praying for people all the time.
-
I never went up for prayer for anything ever, but we decided, we looked at each other and said let's go up there and let him lay hands on us, we'll get refreshed.
-
So we did.
-
We laid his hands on us and we got refreshed and by faith I didn't feel anything necessarily, but I just got back to my chair and sat down and he kept on praying for a line of people and it was quite a line that kept coming up there.
-
And we sat back there and he started singing in tongues and he sang to the tune of skip to my loo, my darling, and when he shifted into shoe, fly, don't bother me in tongues, glad as I both got so tickled.
-
We started laughing and laughing and we fell out of our chairs and rolled on the floor.
-
We were sitting on the front row way on the side and I couldn't get up and I was laughing so hard.
-
My sides and my jaws started cramping and the more I laughed, the more I laughed, and I laughed at myself for laughing and I laughed at her for laughing.
-
She was laughing at me and we were the very few.
-
I mean, it wasn't, it wasn't all over the whole place, it was just, you know, we were just laughing and laughing and I was rolling and I saw somebody way across, it's like from looking from here to the back corner over there, and a couple that we knew from Lakewood was looking at us and pointing at us, like that, and I laughed even more.
-
I kept laughing because they weren't laughing like we were.
-
They were laughing at us but they weren't drunk.
-
We were both drunk.
-
We both got drunk as a skump.
-
That's the first time that manifestation ever hit me.
-
Oh, thank God for the manifestation of the Holy God.
-
How many of you would yield to the laughter if you?
-
I mean, you know you have to stir it up.
-
You have to let it happen.
-
You can't just be there like this.
-
Paul talks about joy, unexpressible and full of glory, if the glory, the glory and joy go together.
-
You, you can't have joy without shouting and laughing and leaping and running and dancing and dancing.
-
I don't mean the boogaloo, I don't mean you know the square dancing, I don't mean amen, ballet.
-
Hey man, I don't know when the Holy Ghost gets on your, in your feet.
-
I'm more of a leaper than a dancer, but I've been, I've done my share of leaping.
-
Who was a brother that used to sit in front of us at Lakewood?
-
He was Indian.
-
Huh, brother span, brother span, brother, span, brother, span, brother span.
-
He would get tickled at Lakewood, especially in the first building, and he would.
-
Just the Holy Ghost had come on him and of course he's, he's, he's an Indian, and he would turn beat red, and he would.
-
He would start making noises like a choo-choo train, like a, like an engine, like a locomotive, and he'd go like that.
-
He'd go, take off across the front of the church and I mean the Holy Ghost would fall and I mean he, oh, brother span, glory to God.
-
He didn't care what anybody thought of him.
-
He yielded to the Holy Ghost.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands right now.
-
Let's, lord, thank you for the Holy Ghost, thank you for the demonstration of the spirit and of power.
-
The world needs to know that the Holy Ghost is real, that God is real, that he's present.
-
The foolishest of things is wiser than men.
-
God uses the foolishest things of the world to confound the wise.
-
Hallelujah Woo, rejoice First Peter 1-8,.
-
Rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
-
Amen.
-
I guess the earliest time that I ever ran Lakewood, you know, I had a job that was front and center and people knew who I was, and I'm in front of thousands of people on a regular basis and I just told God I don't need to do anything other than what you tell me to do.
-
If you want me to prophesy, I will, but I'm the Holy Ghost.
-
You've got to come on me and I'm not going to do anything to draw attention to myself.
-
I don't mind being a fool, but I want to be in the spirit whenever, whatever it is that I do, if I'm going to prophesy, because I have a chance to say something to everybody there when I close the service or when I open it, and unless brother those things tells me just to close in prayer.
-
Then I just pray, that's it.
-
And so one time 1992, I think it was we were having a special service Sunday night.
-
It was just I don't know.
-
It's one of those special services.
-
It's a new building and when we moved into the new building everybody was so impressed with the building they forgot about the Holy Ghost, and so it took a while for us to hit our stride.
-
If you don't mind me saying it, I mean it was kind of dry in there for a while and people just didn't know how to respond.
-
I mean we just, and we we didn't have a regular worship leader.
-
We had a rotation of worship leaders and we just found the place that the cross on the ball.
-
And so it was a little bit until we settled on.
-
Somebody like Brother Gary showed up and became Brother Osteen's son-in-law, married his daughter and so he became the worship leader.
-
So it kind of stabilized because we had one person.
-
But before that happened, you know, it was just a little bit or it might have been.
-
After that happened, I think it got better.
-
Holy Ghost started moving a little bit more, and that's particular night Brother Osteen got up there and he'd try to get started, and then people would just start hollering and shouting and everything, and so the band would get back up, started and start playing and everything.
-
And it was just at a high pitch and I saw myself running around the building.
-
I'm sitting right in the front, right in the middle, right in front of the thing, and I saw myself running.
-
I said, well, holy Ghost, and it started coming back down.
-
Before I decided I'd do it, I said God, if you want me to run, they gotta start back up.
-
If they start back up, I'll hit the aisle.
-
And I was sitting right next to a pastor that I knew from San Antonio.
-
He's sitting right next to me, I'd preached in his church before and so, sure enough, it came back up.
-
And, man, I hit to the left, I hit the aisle.
-
I went right up the aisle, my coat was flappin' in the breeze and I hit that center portion and started running and the ushers had their eyes, their eyes were bugged out.
-
They didn't know what to do.
-
They'd never seen anybody do that and I couldn't.
-
I mean I was running full blast all the way around the lower part of that building, which is a long way, and I was so exhilarated I can't.
-
Joy, inexpressible and full of glory, that's what I had on me when I was running and I went all the way around and of course then it just it released something in the building and I mean it got really high and I think a brother Osteen could've let it go on.
-
We would've had quite a Holy Ghost service.
-
But anyway, I got back to my seat and I realized I was not even breathing hard.
-
I was not out of breath, not even a little bit.
-
Let me tell you something I should've been out of breath, I should've been really, but I was not.
-
The Holy Ghost had come upon me, like he did.
-
The prophet Elijah, who outran the cherry at 20 miles, didn't go 20 miles, but I went a long way and I experienced the Holy Ghost coming upon me.
-
I'm talking about physical manifestation.
-
You know.
-
We know about the spiritual manifestation, and they need to increase too.
-
We need to have more vocal gifts.
-
I believe we have more vocal gifts.
-
We'll have more revelatory and power gifts, but we're gonna have to have more physical manifestations, more yield into the Holy Ghost, yield into what he wants us to do.
-
Amen, praise God.
-
So I'm believing for notable miracles, been talking about those for years and years and years.
-
We've had a few.
-
We're gonna have some more.
-
I said we're gonna have some more.
-
I believe we're gonna be in a time when there's not gonna be one sick among us, not one sick person among us.
-
I'm not gonna rest until we have that manifestation among us.
-
Amen.
-
We talk about it all the time.
-
You know, I believe that we can have a manifestation of the power gifts so that we can have faith for people that don't have any faith.
-
You know what, if somebody has got stage four cancer, they don't know what we know about the Holy Ghost, they don't know what we know about healing.
-
And you know what, if we can have faith for them to get healed and they get healed just on our faith?
-
You know we can have that.
-
We can see that.
-
Amen.
-
Can I have a better?
-
Amen, Amen.
-
I don't.
-
You know, there's nothing too hard for the Lord.
-
I believe God can heal all timers.
-
I believe God can get people that are in the edges of dementia and make them in their right mind.
-
Brother Hagen tells the story of a lady.
-
Now, she was an immigrant and she had her mother.
-
I don't know what country they were from.
-
Her mother was in an insane asylum.
-
She was not in her right mind.
-
All she could do was kind of mutter and talk crazy talk and most of the time just sit there and, you know, didn't have any kind of a look on her face and she didn't even recognize her daughter most of the time.
-
And the state authorities called the sister and said look, we can't do anything more for your mother and she's stable.
-
We don't expect that she's gonna live much longer, cause people like this don't live long and she's just not in her right mind.
-
There's nothing more we can do.
-
But she's not violent and we will pay you to take care of her, but we need the bed here in the state state institution.
-
So back in those years, so they took her home and the daughter kept her.
-
The sister of this lady that was going to Brother Hagin's church kept her and she would come and visit this daughter that was part of Brother Hagin's church and said would you, brother Hagin, would you come and pray for my mother?
-
She just you know, and told her the situation.
-
And so he and Ratha went over there to their home and she just over there, muttering to herself, just not making any sense and they were talking about the situation.
-
She hadn't even prayed for her, he didn't have anything to say, and I mean, she's completely out of her mind.
-
And suddenly she cleared up and she looked at Brother Hagin and she said will I ever be any better, just like that?
-
Will I ever be any better?
-
And he said you sure will, in the name of Jesus, you're gonna be a lot better.
-
He just spoke it by faith.
-
He just decreed it.
-
He never laid hands on her, he never said any, he never did anything other than that.
-
And so you know.
-
And then she just kind of went back to being herself.
-
And so her daughter says oh well, mom, we've got to go home, I've got to cook my husband he's dinner, let's go.
-
And so they left and he said in a month or so, he asked Oritha.
-
So I wonder whatever happened to?
-
Margeen was the lady's name.
-
I wonder whatever happened to Margeen's mother?
-
He said I don't know.
-
Oritha asked Brother Hagin.
-
So I wonder whatever happened to Margeen's mother?
-
He said well, I know one thing she's getting better.
-
Well, how do you know?
-
I just spoke it in Jesus' name.
-
Mark 11, 20, see Mark 11, 23 is all he had.
-
He didn't have any gift of the spirit.
-
He didn't have any.
-
He didn't cast any demons, any demons out of her.
-
He just spoke by the spirit or by faith and decreed it over her.
-
And finally he called, they moved to another church, started pastoring other church, this lady.
-
They got in contact and said well, we just wanted to know whatever happened to your mother.
-
Well, my mother got totally.
-
Well, she's completely in her right mind now.
-
Now this is a revival of 40, 50 years ago.
-
I believe we're gonna have that type of thing.
-
We've got the teaching, we've got the anointing, we've got the knowledge of the Word of God where we can declare and decree over people that don't have any faith.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands right now.
-
I want that type of manifestation in this church.
-
Every one of us should be able to speak over people like this, what the world would call hopeless cases.
-
People are blowing their minds on fentanyl and all kinds of drugs.
-
They're hopelessly addicted to all kinds of terrible drugs that are coming across the border.
-
I read late this afternoon where they've got such an overcrowding, and all in the Eagle Pass sector, that's the Del Rio sector of the border.
-
The border patrol had to withdraw.
-
They've got to go back and watch over all of the people that are jammed into the shelters and they're not watching the border.
-
People are coming across the border and the real grand right there is dangerous because of all the rain they had.
-
Just last week they had all that rain right in that area.
-
People are drowning and they don't have any emergency, anybody watching, answering the emergency calls.
-
People are dying at the border because of it.
-
Thank you, biden.
-
Oh, I tell you we need what the Holy Ghost is want to pour out on the church.
-
Come on, let's lift our hands right now, demonstration of the spirit and of power that our faith would not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
-
Glory to God.
-
Hallelujah, thank you Jesus.
-
Everybody say I'm willing, I'm yielding myself to the Holy Ghost.
-
I don't care what it looks like to other folks, I care more about what Jesus thinks.
-
Amen, hallelujah.
-
Well, I'm seeding you with it.
-
I just believe.
-
You know I didn't feel any big unction tonight to do anything else, but I just wanted to start with that and I want us to just begin to turn ourselves more in that direction.
-
We got people from all kinds of backgrounds in here and they need what we've got.
-
Hallelujah.
