The Power Of Prayer 1

make Jesus glad, the devil mad.

Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, I'm in the right place at the right time, with the right people for my miracle to occur.

My faith is in Jesus.

I bring everything to your feet, jesus.

I do everything in your name, jesus.

And today I'm going to be instructed in a better way, a higher way, so that I can receive all you paid for in Jesus' name.

Amen.

You can be seated, turn your Bibles to James, chapter five.

I've been doing a series on prayer, been preaching about joining for prayer, joining forces with God.

Today I'm going to move into the power of prayer and James, chapter five, which we've been using previous to this.

I want to read it again, verse 16, the last part of the verse and the King James.

It says the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man or person, of valeth much, but I like the amplified and let me read it to you.

In the amplified it says the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous person makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working, or the word dynamic means multifaceted, it means varied.

You know there's one kind of power that you need for one thing and you need a different kind of power for another thing.

So, whatever it is, whatever the need is there's, there's tremendous power available when we pray, and so the power of prayer now joining forces with God.

We wanted to emphasize the absolute necessity of our corn and Nia, our communication partnership, relationship with God Almighty and with, you know, with the father, with his son Jesus, with the Holy Ghost, with each other and with our pastor.

These five aspects of corn and Nia are absolutely vital in our getting results in our prayer life.

Corn and Nia communication partnership, relationship, distribution, contribution is an interplay.

It's a give and take.

You know, it's not about God looking down and say do this and do that.

I talked to you.

I talked to you about the guy that used to work for me, named do dad.

He said how did you get that name?

He said, well, I was around here and they said do this and do that.

I'm the do that guy.

I'm the guy that had to do that.

No, I'm telling you we're, we're, we're sons and daughters of the most high God.

We're on the, we're on the board of directors of God and sons, unlimited.

We're sitting around the family business table.

Yes, god is the CEO, but you know what?

We're not chopped liver.

We can get to a place in prayer where we name our what it is that we want.

Now you don't start out in in graduate school, you start out wearing kindergarten and you go to first grade and then you just you know.

But look, it's time for the church to grow up and we're living in the last days.

The book of James is a book of the last days.

This is a picture of what we're going to have to step into if we're going to accomplish what the church has got to accomplish.

And and so tremendous power is available when we pray and when we know how to pray.

That's why I'm teaching this.

I want to get, I want us to get out of kindergarten.

Kindergarten says oh God, do something.

Oh God, notice, notice the situation to do something.

Well, you know that's not what prayer is.

Prayer is not trying to get God to do something.

Prayer is not trying to get God's attention.

He's already knows all of it.

So that's not what prayer is.

So so much of prayer that I hear going on.

Or for the country oh God, come and heal our land.

We're your people.

We humble ourselves and pray Come and heal our land.

Well, he's not going to do it.

We're the change agents.

We're the ones that are on the earth, we're the ones that have authority.

See, the ignorance of the authority of the believer is the root of why we're at the situation we're in in this nation Lawlessness, corruption, fecklessness, stupidity and some of its own purpose.

It's not as stupid as it looks.

It looks stupid, but really it's on purpose.

Borders on purpose.

They don't care how many people drown in the river.

They don't care how many people drown in the desert.

Out there I get snake bit, heat exhaustion.

They don't care.

Oh, they're the champions of life.

Oh, women's choice?

No, they don't care about life.

Amen.

Why is that?

Why is that?

Because the church has not inhabited its place of prayer with any kind of revelation of what God said in His Word.

So when I see that tremendous power is available when we pray maybe you don't think this way, I guess it's the engineer in me, I don't know I think about the converse Then, when there's a lack of prayer, there is a power vacuum, and that describes where we are in America, where we are in the church.

There is a power vacuum because people have not occupied their prayer closet, consistently, fervently, amen continually, or with any kind of Bible knowledge or any knowledge of their covenant, or are y'all with me now?

So we're talking about the power, prayer.

We're moving out of this.

We don't want to forget it.

We need our relationship, cpr.

I call it communication, partnership, relationship, distribution, contribution.

It's give and take on both sides and we need that.

That's the center of it.

But then we've got to go on beyond that into the power of it, and that power is resurrection power.

That power is, it's unmatched Nuclear power.

Don't say nuclear.

See, when you say nuclear you sound like Bush 43.

And that's what you know.

It's a pet peeve of mine.

People mispronounce the word nuclear.

That's how you say it.

It's not nuclear.

Bush 43, god, just to drive me up a wall.

And then when they were surprising me, it looked like Mad Magazine.

You know what me worry?

You know, that guy, you know, had that surprised.

Look on his face.

Now he wasn't dumb, he just looked dumb.

That's all Nuclear?

No, it's nuclear.

And guess what?

The power we've got, man, nuclear is nothing to what we have available.

So then we need to make ourselves available, don't we?

If it's available, then we need to be available right, and it's a choice on our side.

It's a choice on our side that has not been exercised enough in the church, and so we find ourselves with the power vacuum.

And anytime there's a power vacuum, bad actors occupy the vacuum.

America is absent on the world scene.

So we've got bad actors, we've got China and we've got Russia doing all kinds of stuff and everybody else doing Iran doing all kind of stuff.

Bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom bom.

Anyway, that's what needs to happen, but we're not gonna do it.

All we have to do is send one cruise missile in the center of Tehran and be all over.

Don't have the guts in the White House to do that.

Instead, they're gonna give them another bunch of billions of dollars to go along with everything they left out there in Afghanistan.

Why is it?

On purpose.

They somehow think they're smarter than the Ayatollah and I think the Ayatollah's smarter than the stupid Democrats, or we could call them the degenerates.

All right.

So the power?

Everybody say power vacuum.

See, the church has gotta rise up and drive out the bad actors, but we've got more power than they do.

Amen.

John Wesley, you know the one who basically founded Methodism and that was a revival.

How far they've fallen.

I know it's not.

You know it's not the same Methodist Church as it was under John Wesley, that's for sure.

If you've got loved ones in the Methodist Church, tell them to get out.

I mean, the candlestick's been removed from a lot of these church disciples of Christ, methodists.

What do you mean?

The candlestick I'm just talking about?

The Holy Ghost isn't there.

When people start compromising God's Word and ordaining LGBTQ plus plus clergy and recognizing ungodly relationships as marriage and wanting to ruin our children at a tender age with all kinds of drugs, the Holy Ghost isn't in there.

Episcopal said they're there for gender change.

Well, if they're Episcopal, if you've got loved ones in Episcopal, tell them to get out.

Well, they're not gonna.

They're gonna get mad.

Well, at least you don't have it on your conscience.

We have to look.

It's right now we're trying to play nice, but we can't play nice anymore.

We have to be bold in God.

We have to speak the truth, speak it in love.

You love them.

Do you want them to go down the line of contributing to the power vacuum?

That's what they're doing.

And so the Democrats?

They look at Methodists and they look.

You know, killery cleans a Methodist?

Yeah, I think she's ordained, if I'm not mistaken, nuts.

Amen, all right.

So John Wesley said it seems that God is limited by our prayer life.

He can't do anything for humanity unless someone asks him.

We're all waiting on God.

God's waiting on us.

He's waiting on us to pray it out.

Why?

Because we are in charge.

Jesus, when he appeared to the disciples right before he left the earth, he said all power in heaven and earth has given unto me.

Go ye, therefore.

So he delegated all the power in heaven and earth to the church to go and preach the good news and to demonstrate that good news.

So it's, you know it, you ever play it when you were, when the kid.

I mean, you know, you're it and we're it.

It's on us.

God's not coming back here to do anything until he comes back and takes us off the earth.

Jesus have come and raptured the church, but until then he's not coming to heal the land, he's not coming to intervene, he's not coming to do a thing.

His change agents are here with authority.

And so when we occupy that place of authority in our prayer closet, or when we come together corporately, oh I tell you, tremendous power is made available.

And so let's look at Luke 18.

I want to get into the power of prayer today.

I want to get it into your spirit so deeply that when we begin to have some power hour pluses, we're going to have some.

I don't have a schedule yet, but we are going to be praying for the election before election day.

We're going to dedicate Sunday nights probably you know in well, we just have to look at a calendar.

I've been away from the church of you know more about that later, but we'll we're dedicated to having power hour plus.

And what is that?

Well, that's just corporate prayer on Sunday night.

Instead of having a service, we're going to, you know, like we normally didn't teach the word and lay hands on people, we're going to just basically turn it into a prayer meeting.

Now we have prayer here on Thursday nights, but I want the rest of the church that maybe don't have an opportunity to come Thursday night, I want some of you that have never been in a Holy Ghost prayer meeting to know how that is conducted and know how that works.

That's how I learned.

What I learned is being in prayer meetings with people who knew how to pray.

There's no substitute for being in a prayer meeting with people who know something about how to reach God, and I just know that the kind of praying that this church has done for decades now is effective and it's being heard, it's having tremendous effect.

I can't spit, I know we're not the only ones.

I'm not saying it in an arrogant way, but I just.

The only one I can speak for is this church and I know what I get to when I see things when we're praying like that in the spirit realm.

Luke 18, did you find it Verse one?

And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint.

The word faint means to turn coward, lose heart and give up.

Smith Wigglesworth said in his experience in his ministry most Christians quit before the answer shows up.

They run out of Spizarinctum lack of a better word.

My dad used that word.

It's not in the dictionary so I don't know where it came from, but it sounds complicated.

Spizarinctum so everybody say spizarinctum, five times real fat.

No, I'm just joking.

In other words, faith doesn't quit.

So we gotta have faith when we pray.

We have to have the knowledge, and the faith will know that when we speak and pray that he hears Amen, amen.

You don't have that, you don't have anything.

And faith begins where the will of God is known.

So you have to know what the will of God is when you pray.

I heard somebody some goof us on Facebook said well, you know, god always answers prayers, just sometimes it's no.

He never says no, never.

When you pray according to his will, you always have the petition.

You have no business praying about something without knowing what his will is.

That's the whole thing James says.

In James four, he said you have not because you ask not, or else you ask and have not because you ask amiss.

That's the only time it's no because you're off base.

So from that standpoint, thank God, god, it's not a matter of God selling no, it's a matter that God doesn't even hear it.

There is no response.

Are you with me now?

Yes, all right.

So he tells the story of the parable.

There was in a city a judge verse two which feared not God, neither regarded man.

Now see, that's not a type of God.

Okay, that's an unjust judge.

Fear, and we've got a whole lot of those right now.

Hold a lot of those.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

A guy out here in this neighborhood, northwest Harris County, had a guy that fell through his skylight.

He got a skylight in back.

Some 30 years ago we built houses with skylights on there and this guy was tying drugs or something, was up on his roof trying to find a way into the house, was up on the roof and fell through the skylight into this guy's house and he heard this crashing and all this going on and he got his pistol and he came and he found this guy and he wasn't making any sense and they called the cops.

The guy was arrested and he was out on $100 bail and the guy just happened to be at home.

He works nights and he happened to be home.

He was off that night, otherwise his wife and daughter would have had to confront this goofball high on drugs, no telling what he was taking.

No, I mean, sometimes these guys have superhuman strength.

Again, how many of you know he was not up there for a social visit?

Yeah, and he goes to jail and they give him $100 bail anyway.

That's the guy right here.

There was in a city a judge which feared not God, neither regarded man, and there was a widow in that city and she came unto him saying avenge me of my adversary.

And he would not for a while.

But afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man.

Yet because this widow troubled me, I will avenge her.

Let's buy her continual coming.

She weary me, she troubled me.

The word trouble means pummel, it means to beat on him.

That doesn't mean physically, you know.

I'll tell you some women, they can come, and if you say no long enough, you're gonna finally feel like you've been in the dog fight Glad, it's just kinda like that.

I mean, when she's got something that she wants and I'm not in a, you know, I'm not of a mind to agree with her.

I know that it's just a matter of time, because she is going to continually trouble me, trouble me Until I get an agreement with her.

Are y'all with me now?

Now, the record was that she had only come one time, so she must have had a way about her that.

Let him know.

You better say yes, buster, but she only came once.

Are y'all with me now?

She didn't come over and over and over.

He was afraid that she would.

Are you getting this now?

This is Jesus talking, and he's talking about prayer and the kind of attitude you've gotta have, not a quitter, not somebody that's gonna faint, lose heart, give up, you know, just because it takes a while sometimes.

You know, not everything's instant.

Waterburger doesn't always have it your way Just like you like it.

Sometimes it takes a while and you've gotta drive up to the other side and wait there for like 10, 15 minutes and then they finally bring it out to you.

Other people have gotten theirs and they've left and you're still sitting there.

Don't tell me you're not fuming.

Don't tell me that you're happy.

That's just how it is right now.

We're instant society, all right, all right, so let's buy her continual coming.

She weary me.

Another place it talks about shameless persistence.

See, you're not afraid to come to God.

You're not ashamed to offer your life.

You're not afraid to offer your life.

You're not ashamed to offer your asking and your intercessions and your yeah, and you know your prayer.

There's all kinds of prayer.

Praise is a prayer.

We leave off the praise a lot of times.

Supplication is asking, but sometimes it's intercession for someone else.

We're asking on behalf of someone else.

Supplications, intercessions, giving of thanks that's prayer.

We leave off the giving of thanks.

We leave off the praise.

Are you with me now?

Yeah, so said the Lord.

Said here what the unjust judge said.

What did he say?

Well, he said I'm not going to do it.

And he didn't for a while.

But then he said you know what?

This woman is not going to leave me alone.

She's going to beat me up.

She's going to come down here every time the court's open.

She's going to be here in front of me.

I don't want to have to see that woman again.

Ah, go ahead.

I'm going to give her what she's asking for.

I don't like it, but I'm going to do it just because I want to be.

I don't want to be inconvenienced.

I don't even agree with her legal argument, but I'm going to give it to her anyway.

I'm just going to give it to her because I know.

I know what she's made out of and she's trouble for me.

So here what the unjust judge said and shall not God avenge his own elect, which cried day and night unto him?

Though he bear along with them?

I'll tell you that he will avenge them speedily.

Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

So faith doesn't quit.

Faith doesn't look at the country the way it is.

It doesn't look at Harris County the way it is.

It doesn't look at this neighborhood the way it's gone downhill.

It doesn't look at how things are right now.

I'm telling you, day and night we cry against evil.

Day and night we hold up the standard of righteousness.

We're going to keep our elected officials held to that standard and when they don't meet that standard, we're going to get rid of them, we're going to primary them, or we're going to have a recall or something we're going to keep.

We're going to be their dreaded, we're going to be their worst nightmare when we show up down there at the school board meeting.

Are y'all with me now?

Y'all act like you're shocked.

This is prayer we're talking about.

This is Jesus talking.

Woo, glory to God.

So faith doesn't quit.

Faith puts pressure on.

Now listen to this real carefully.

Faith, your faith, when you pray, puts pressure on the word.

Remember what it says in John, chapter one in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

And in verse 14, in the word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

So when we pray according to the word and according to the spirit, when we entertain the idea of going to God, about a petition or about a situation based on God's word, inspired by his spirit, we're putting pressure on the word.

Who is Jesus?

And what did he do to the devil?

He stripped him of all of his authority.

He led him as a train of vanquished foes through all of the regions of hell and heaven and everywhere, and said this is the one that's giving you so much trouble.

I just took all of his power from him.

I took from him the keys of hell and death and I'm giving them to the church.

So when we put pressure, just think about staying.

Have you ever done this?

See, I've had to do this before.

Now I'm standing on your word.

I'm standing on your word.

I've had to do that.

It's kind of silly, but you know, I just had just preached myself an illustrated sermon.

I have the word of God.

I'm standing on the word.

Well, I'm standing on Jesus.

I'm standing on what he said.

And guess what he did?

He stripped the devil of all his power.

So when you put pressure on the word, you're putting pressure on the devil.

That's why we need to pray.

Let's put pressure back.

Let's answer this power vacuum.

I'm telling you we've got this great, awesome power.

Hallelujah.

Are you getting anything out of this?

Come on, let's lift our hands right now.

Hallelujah.

You know, I almost feel sorry for the devil, poor devil.

So God has already sent his word to us.

He sent his word, isaiah 55,.

You know, as the rain comes down, the snow from heaven waters the earth, and so that it may bring forth and bud and returneth not thither, but you know it brings forth fruit.

You know, so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth.

What did his word go forth?

Yeah, jesus came.

He's the word.

So he's already sent his word.

We have his word.

What will it do?

The word in his mouth?

Prosperous is the thing where to it sent.

It accomplishes what he pleases.

Well, it's the same way when we speak it, when we speak the word through prayer, it accomplishes what we please.

It prosperous in the thing where we send it.

We send our word to the Harris County election for County Judge.

I'm telling you it's going to prosper in that situation.

We're going to replace that doofus.

I mean, she's not even a good Marxist.

She's not smart enough or old enough to even know what the root of Marxism is.

She's just a puppet.

She's a placeholder for people that are more evil than even she is.

We're going to get rid of her.

I kind of like an army captain Used to defuse bombs.

That's kind of cool.

She can defuse a whole bunch of bombs in Harris County now.

So I like Jeremiah, let's turn real quick there.

I want you to see this.

Oh, we just need to pick up, see, because if you get a revelation of how important your prayer life is, you won't be tempted so much to skip it and relegate it to some other.

You've got other priorities and so you don't see yourself, as your prayers, as that valuable.

You know, if I got to get over to you how valuable and necessary your prayers are to all of it.

Jeremiah, chapter one, verse nine.

Well, verse eight, he told Jeremiah be not afraid of their faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

I mean, they hate our guts and we still got representatives that reach across the aisle and do and try to compromise with the devil.

They hate us.

They never compromise, never.

Why are we being so nice?

Let's be hard, give them a time of day, let's defeat them at every turn.

Nothing they want is good, not one thing they have is anything we need, and we got to have politicians like that.

We've got to have people that've got a backbone.

It's not enough to be well, I just want to get along and just meh, meh, meh, meh, meh, meh.

That's what I liked about Donald Trump.

He didn't get along with anybody.

He was a junkyard dog.

That's what we need more of.

We need more junkyard dogs.

Have you ever tried to get along with a junkyard dog?

Forget about it.

Make sure you don't get too close.

It's on the end of that chain.

If it's tied with a rope, run, because a rope won't hold one.

A chain's the only thing that'll work.

All right, be not afraid of their faces.

I'm with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth.

And the Lord said unto me behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

See, I have, this day, set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms.

To do what?

To root out, to pull down, to destroy and to throw down.

Don't stop there.

To build and to plant.

Woo.

Glory to God.

When God wants to change somebody, he touches their mouth, he puts a word in their mouth.

I don't know how many words God has put in my mouth over all these years.

He's put a lot of words in my mouth.

Then I teach him to you.

I mean, he's put a word corporately in this church's mouth and I'm gonna tell you something it's to tear down, to root out, to destroy and once we've done that, then to build and to plant.

And that's what I got to do the last eight years of my building career.

I got to act this scripture out.

God put me in West University Place and the only houses that are only lots that are available have a house built on them, built about 50, 60 years ago, what we call tear downs.

Most of the ones that I bought were elderly folks that had gotten old and either died or moved into a nursing home.

And so here's their house and sitting there, and it's, you know it's just two bedrooms, one bath or something up on blocks, you know not if energy efficient, it's on decline, it looks bad.

And here's a brand new house next door that you know was built, and here's this old house.

I felt like I was doing the neighborhood a favor, and I was, and so what I got to do is I got to build a buy.

My very first house I ever bought in there was on an oversized lot 60 by 100.

Standard size of 50.

I bought that house, 60 by 100.

I paid $140,000 for it.

I just thought how can I do this?

This is crazy.

I mean, I used to sell houses for $140,000, a brand new house out in the suburbs and here I am paying for an old junk house $140,000.

Then I got to pay somebody $10,000 to tear it down.

So I rooted it up, I destroyed it, I got rid of it and then I built it.

I planned it and I built it, built a brand new house on that.

I drove by it the other day.

It's still as pretty as it was, you know, 30 years ago when I built it.

It's been in there, let's see, in 1988.

How many years is that?

34 years.

It looks like a brand new house.

Right now, 34 years old, it looks like a brand new.

I'm not bragging on me, I'm bragging on him.

It's a beautiful house, beautiful house.

It's an asset to the neighborhood and when it sold it set a record for that end of University Drive.

It's on University Drive and it's one block from the railroad tracks With.

Back then that was a big negative to be close to the railroad track and that house broke records at the time when I sold it.

So I practiced this scripture and so this is what we do in prayer, especially corporate prayer.

But you can do it in your individual prayer life.

You don't like what's going on in your marriage.

You don't like what's going on in your house.

You don't like what's going on in your body.

You don't like what's going on in your neighborhood.

You don't like what's going on in your family.

You don't like what's going on in your finances.

Listen, you can root up and destroy and get all of that out of there and build and plant something brand new.

If you don't quit, everybody say I'm not a quitter.

So it says here the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous person, of valeth much brings much power to bear, dynamic in its working.

The word continual doesn't mean just 24 hours a day, it just means consistent.

Inconsistency lies the power.

A lot of times we'll pray along a certain line and then we just let it slide.

There are certain things that we have to pray over in consistency and I don't mean give it to me, give it to me, give it to me right now, god, give it to me, give it to me, give it to me.

The Bible says ask him, keep on asking.

I'm asking, I asked yesterday, I asked the day before yesterday, I'm asking again today.

Oh God, give it to me, give it to me.

No, I'm not talking about that, that's not the asking I'm talking about Consistently.

What does that mean?

Consistent?

Well, shameless persistence.

There's another one about the guy that's in bed, you know, and the neighbor comes and says hey, I've got guests that have showed up.

I need some bread.

He said I'm sorry, my kids are with me in bed, I cannot get up now, but because of his shameless persistence, he gives him all he needs.

He gets up and gives him all he needs.

Remember that one.

So Jesus put it this way, and Luke 11, ask and keep on asking, you shall receive.

Seek and keep on seeking, you shall find.

Knock and keep on knocking and it shall be given unto you.

So there's that element, then, of persistence.

There's that element, but it's not repetitive.

It just means that you're keeping it before him and there's.

You ask once, but you give praise over and over.

You don't ask God to heal somebody.

They're already healed, according to the Word.

So what do you do?

You go to God and say, oh Lord, I thank you, I thank you, they're healed.

Let's see who we're going to.

Doug Norman, norman, I heard you, norman, you're somewhere.

Where are you?

Norman Doug's, his brother, doug's going to have brain surgery tomorrow, move tumor out of his brain.

So we're going to pray for Doug in a little bit and now Norman's not going to go back and pray again, you know, and he's not going to pray again and keep praying until this whole process.

Oh God, I ask you to.

No, he's, we're going to pray one time and he's going to thank God for healing his brother.

And that's the persistence, the shameless persistence.

That's the consistency.

Inconsistency lies the power.

It's when we're inconsistent, when we, when we pray about something and just let it drop.

Brother Hagan, one time I heard him speak about, oh, back in the I think it was the early 60s, 63, 4.

He was in prayer at Ramah.

No, it was before Ramah, before Ramah, before he had Ramah Bible Training Institute, because that started in the 70s, so it was in 63, he was praying and God showed him three frogs coming up on the west coast of California and these three frogs hopped all the way across the country and he knew that these were demon powers and he said you need to stop those.

So they would their ministry.

They prayed against that.

They prayed and after a while you know you get busy and you just drop that somehow.

Some way it gets replaced.

God never told you to stop, you never.

I mean something like that.

You don't know when the when it's done or when it is, and so you have to be consistent.

So in 73, when Watergate happened Watergate, if you want to know a historical fact that is the day when everything changed in this country and no longer is there any reaching across.

So forget about it.

I mean, you had a unified country during the depression, even though there were Republicans and Democrats that differed.

They basically loved this country.

They had different ideas, but they worked together.

That ended because the demonic power was allowed power vacuum.

Are you with me?

And that thing hopped all the way and got into Washington DC and as soon as he saw the headlines, the Holy Ghost said this is on you.

You stop praying.

Oh my God, what would you do if the Holy Ghost told you something like that and you had to bear the shame?

He said man, I had a long.

I had to really, really work to receive my forgiveness for that.

I felt so guilty, I felt so bad about it.

I think I heard him talk about it one time and then I never heard him talk about it again, and I'm glad I heard him say it because it helps me to understand how absolutely vital our prayer is.

Sometimes we think, oh, somebody, no, no, not somebody.

You body, you body, not somebody, you body, you're it.

Everybody say I'm it.

Maybe y'all didn't play it All right.

Well, whatever, I had a stick horse too, and I had a cap gun.

It looked like a real gun.

All right, everybody say shameless, persistent, consistent in prayer.

You know, last week we talked about John 15.

Y'all getting anything out of this?

I'm not in a hurry today.

I just this is so important going into the season we're in, this is end times.

This is end time praying.

And you're living in the end times and you're in a church that is a regional center that has been assigned regional authorities and responsibilities.

That's gonna take this kind of praying by more than just me.

I've got to share this burden with you.

I can't carry it All right, lord.

I'll tell you the story about a woman that I didn't know personally about.

I sat in some meetings with her.

She was a prayer warrior.

She loved praying and she was effective at it, led prayer and she got to praying over Israel and I won't be more specific than that, but she got to praying over some revelation she had about Israel and Israel's enemies and it was.

I heard her teach on this particular and I can't be more specific because I don't want you to figure out who it is.

It's not a port about who, it's important about what happened to her.

But she I knew this about her, that she, her husband was a pastor, but he really wasn't.

He's just a do-gooder.

I knew that about him.

He's an important businessman, but I just didn't think he was much of a pastor.

You know, pastor is an office you can't elect yourself to.

You can't appoint yourself, people can't vote you in, no such thing.

You have to be called and you have to be qualified and you have to be anointed by God and then you have to be called qualified commission.

Those are the three things that have to happen for any ministry, like five-fold ministry.

You have to be called number one, number two, you have to be qualified.

God is the qualifying entity, he will put you through your paces and then you have to be commissioned, which is set into that office, and the only thing men have to do with it is that men can recognize what God has already done.

So if you look at Acts, chapter 13, it says separate me.

The Holy Ghost said in a meeting separate me, barnabas and Saul, for the work were unto.

I have called them.

So the church didn't call them.

The Holy Ghost called them.

What ministry was that Apostle Paul was already a noted prophet it talks about.

There were certain prophets and teachers among them and it should name five people.

The only two that survived that group was Barnabas and Saul.

The other three you never hear about again, you never read any more about them.

I'm not saying they weren't good, I just the Bible doesn't say anything about them.

But Barnabas and Saul, they were noted prophets and now they're going to be sent out in the ministry of the apostle.

Well, who did that?

Did a pulpit committee elect them?

No, did they just decide to print up some court?

Well, you know what I feel like.

I'm an apostle today.

I'm gonna be an apostle.

Just call me apostle, call me bishop.

I'm a bishop, I'm Bishop John.

See, we got a lot of that kind of craziness.

So I knew that her church, she's a pastor's wife.

She's noted in her own right.

I loved her teaching.

I thought it was revelation there.

I got a lot out of it and she led a prayer meeting over this subject of Israel.

Then, and it wasn't very long.

I heard that she had brain cancer and four months later she's dead in her fifties.

And the Holy Ghost said you just didn't have enough covering.

She took on a bigger assignment than she had feet for.

You know, sometimes the Holy Ghost can teach you at somebody else's expense.

She cost her her life.

She was full of zeal but she didn't have a pastor over her to cover her.

When she goes out in this arena, are y'all looking at me kind of crooked?

But this is serious business here.

We don't go swat yellow jacket nests and wait around like we're standing on a 20 foot ladder.

Oh, I see that yellow jacket.

Now I'm over on 20 foot ladder.

I'm gonna swat that thing right up here.

Yeah, that's kind of dumb, isn't it?

I know a guy that fell off that 20 foot ladder and died six months later.

I knew him very well.

He's on a 20 foot ladder.

When you know my age I thought why are you on a 20 foot ladder, boy?

What are you doing?

He's a businessman.

I mean, you hire somebody to get on a 20 foot ladder.

You know, I had my trees trimmed the other day and those guys got up there, like I mean they're like professional monkeys.

I mean they skate around up there with a chainsaw and one hook, you know, and they're trimming those lens.

They didn't know what.

You couldn't.

You don't have enough money to pay me to get up in that tree.

I'm not going up there, I'm gonna hire you.

I'm assuming you know what you're doing, because I don't.

Anyway, what I'm saying is she was up on a 20 foot ladder and fell.

Listen, we got to have the right kind of ministry.

Covering this type of prayer takes the anointing where we're hearing okay, this is your assignment, we're gonna.

God gave you the assignment, he's gonna give you the wherewithal to stay protected and of course I know the whole armor of God.

Of course I know that.

But beyond that is the covering above it, which is what I supply.

Are y'all with me now?

So when we're praying about these things, we don't know, always know what details.

Our brain doesn't know everything.

We don't know all about these politicians.

We don't know all about the government.

We don't know about the judges.

We don't know about this, we don't know about that.

But we don't have to know everything.

The Holy Ghost knows everything and he helps us pray.

Romans eight.

We need the baptism of the Holy Ghost in order for us to do this job that we have at glorious way church.

Everybody needs to be filled with the Holy Ghost, verse 26,.

Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought, but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, in other words with tongues, with our prayer.

Language Doesn't necessarily mean we're gonna groan and weep.

Some people do pray that way when we're praying.

Sometimes, when we have a corporate prayer meeting, some of our members are sensitive in that area and they'll get on the floor like they're giving birth.

They'll get on the floor and weep.

That's prayer.

I've had it happen to me maybe I don't know two or three times in my whole life.

That it doesn't happen very often at all.

I don't try to make it happen.

I can yield to it.

But what's important is letting the Holy Ghost help our infirmities.

Okay, the word help means to take hold together with us against.

A lot of times we're praying against things.

See, I get a little tired of the oh, did you pray for Biden?

See how I'm saying no, I'm not going to.

Amen, I don't have time to pray for his salvation.

Come on pray.

Forgiveness is between him and God.

I don't.

You know.

I'm here to arrange for the meeting, if possible.

Amen, I'd like to arrange for the meeting.

Amen, wow, that's cruel.

No, it's not cruel, it's realistic.

He grew up in America.

He's heard the gospel rejected it a hundred times over.

There's no praying for his salvation.

That's not what we're to do.

You pray for your relatives and all of that.

You don't pray for these godless politicians.

Amen, stop it.

Stop this religious baloney.

See, when the devil can get the church to start praying wrong and praying in the wrong area, then he can keep getting by with murder.

He just keeps sneaking by, going through the, trying to find the skylight.

I can't, still can't, get over that guy falling through a skylight.

I mean, what happened to the front door, I don't know.

All right, so he help with our infirmities.

He takes hold together with us against.

And what is the meaning of infirmities?

Well, it means feebleness of body and our mind.

Feebleness of body and our mind.

It means malady, it means moral frilty.

It also means disease, sickness and weakness.

So what does that have to do with, like the world, and what we're going through in this country?

Well, we don't know how to pray as we are, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but the Holy Ghost that knows everything does, and we don't have to know it.

We don't even have to touch it with our carnal mind, as long as we're baptized in the Holy Ghost and we all get together in one place, in one accord, and we start praying together and together.

I mean then the power of unified speech starts to come into play.

What do you mean by that, pastor?

Well, I'll take you back to Genesis, chapter 10, where the tower of Babel, they were beginning to attempt to build a giant tower to heaven, and they started building it and everybody on the earth was of one language and they all had a same goal.

And God went down to investigate what was going on.

He says we can't allow this to happen, because they're all speaking the same thing and nothing shall be impossible to them.

And these are ungodly pagans.

They don't worship God, the God of creation.

In fact, they're in rebellion to Him, and they're saying we're gonna get all the way to heaven.

Ha ha ha.

And God basically shaken their fist at God and God said nothing would be impossible to them.

Because of what?

The power of unified speech.

This is what we're up against with the Democrats and this Marxist ideology that has attacked our language.

They're shutting us down and they're spilling the airwaves with lies and they're changing our young people and nothing's gonna be helped.

They're gonna be able to do a whole lot of evil if we don't stop.

Well, you know what?

We've got more power than they do, and the power of unified speech is when we're all, we couldn't possibly all agree perfectly in English or in our language.

So what do we do?

We all pray in tongues and the Holy Ghost is able for all of us to speak.

The power of unified language, unified speech.

Oh, glory to God, come on now.

So what's next?

Well, you need to receive baptism in the Holy Ghost.

You quit thinking that.

That's not for you.

I don't know where all of you went to church, but I'm familiar with all of the error that's out there.

You've got some groups that say I'm speaking in tongues of the devil.

I heard John Bazzanio, pastor of many years of first Baptist church, say that on television in the 80s.

I heard him myself.

Nobody can tell me he didn't say it.

I heard him say it.

If they still say that they're wrong and if, bordering on blaspheming of the Holy Ghost, you say that Speaking of tongues of the devil, when did that happen?

Paul said I speak in tongues more than you all.

Why would we put that in there if it wasn't scriptural?

When did it fall out of being scriptural and being demonic?

You stupid thing.

I get pretty excited about it because I'm tired of all the yeah, yeah.

You know what it is?

Just plain old pride, capital P.

People don't want to be seen speaking in tongues.

And young people, if you're in here, you know, quit letting the devil make you ashamed of speaking in other tongues.

Speak out loud in other tongues so your parents can hear you speaking in tongues.

It's wonderful, it's a supernatural language and you're praying the perfect will of God.

How can you do that in your natural mind?

Well, you can't.

The answer is you can't.

But when we all get together praying in other tongues, well, I'm telling you right now, the power of unified speech makes tremendous power available.

So he helpeth our infirmity.

He entreats, he confers with, he deals with, he makes intercession and all of those words are in effect, with help us and we need help, don't we?

What are we doing?

We're filling the power vacuum.

We're reversing it, we're tearing it down, we're dismantling it, we're rendering it ineffective.

We're issuing eviction notices Amen, right here at Gloria's Way Church, eviction notices to all these degenerates that call themselves Democrats.

The things that they're for right now, just 10 years ago we could not have even conceived of what they're for right now.

They're bold about it.

The things they're doing with our young people are just make you turn red.

Well, we got to get over that.

We got to get over and start ripping it up out of there, praying in the Holy Ghost, amen, glory to God.

And so I won't get into all the other wonderful things that happen when you pray in tongues in your personal prayer life, but just a few.

You edify yourself.

That means you build up from a foundation, construct repair.

We've told you all about that.

Your spirit prays.

So when you pray in tongues, it's spiritual activity.

The more spiritual activity you engage in, the more sensitive you are in the spirit realm, the more that God can show you in the spirit realm.

You verily give a thanks.

Well, verse 17, chapter 14.

You speak mysteries Verse four in 14, first Corinthians 14,.

You speak mysteries, hidden things, hidden for us.

You magnify God, acts 1046.

It's a way to magnify God.

You ever want to just praise Him and magnify Him and you run out of English.

We'll start praying another time.

It's wonderful, amen.

We don't always know what to pray for as well, but the Holy Ghost always knows and He'll help us.

One of the main things we do, like Brother Hagin not praying against those demonic powers that he saw while he was praying in other tongues, god told him to pray against it.

We process the plan of God.

That's why we have to consistently pray.

We can't just pray one time and be done with it.

We can't just pray for our country one time and oh, I believe it's, everything's changed.

Well, no, we have to process the plan of God by praying in the Holy Ghost, because there's, it brings much power to bear, dynamic in its working dynamic.

We have to give it a chance to go into different places and be manifested and drive out the demonic powers that occupied the power vacuum.

They occupied a power vacuum in the unelected bureaucracy.

That is.

The biggest danger we have in this country is unelected bureaucrats have more power, and they can.

They can put all kinds of of restrictions on us from which there is no appeal.

The FBI can do all kind of things to us.

The IRS has been empowered right now.

They're going to come after you and me.

Forget about the rich people.

They, if the every rich person got, if every rich person in this country that makes a million dollars or more had to pay a million dollars, it wouldn't even come close to taking care of what they're warning.

So they have to come and get us, and they will.

I'm not afraid.

No, I'm not afraid, but I'm going to tear it down.

We're going to pray and we're going to dismantle the thing.

Are y'all with me?

Now?

Process the plan of God.

You know the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Most of the time when people have an objection to it, they get confused between praying in tongues as a prayer and what do you mean praying in tongues?

Well, when you pray, who you're praying to?

Right, you're praying to God, aren't you?

So when you pray in your prayer language normally, then you're not speaking under man, you're speaking under God.

That's what it is.

But then in 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, it talks about the gift of tongues and the gift of interpretation of tongues and the gift of prophecy.

1 Corinthians 12 · chapter mention

Those are also known as the utterance gifts.

Those occur as the spirit wills.

So it's not in order then for me to communicate with you in tongues.

Why 1 Corinthians 14 says don't be trying to talk to people in tongues.

They won't understand you, they think you're crazy.

Well, keep reading the whole chapter, don't just read one or two sentences and make draw conclusions.

This is what happens to people that have Baptist backgrounds, church of Christ backgrounds, disciples of Christ backgrounds.

They've been taught wrong.

They've been taught by people that believed theory over truth, and we all know what a theory is.

A theory is a supposition based on ignorance of the subject under discussion.

They're trying to talk about something they don't squat about.

They've been taught wrong from seminary and they're teaching you a bunch of baloney.

So here's the deal.

In other words, tongues and interpretation is a gift of the spirit.

When I have a tongue, it is a message in tongues for the church, given it's an inspired utterance in other tongues that no one is going to understand unless there is an interpretation of that tongue.

So that's what it's talking about.

Don't be giving messages in tongues if there's no interpretation.

That's what it's talking about.

It's not talking about forbidding to speak in tongues.

In fact, it says forbid not to speak with tongues.

Speak to who.

Speak to God.

I don't speak to you in tongues.

Why would I do that?

But if I'm inspired to, if I have an inspired utterance in tongues for you, I would give it, because I know there's one that can interpret it, and that's me.

I can interpret my own tongues.

Are y'all looking at me crazy, aren't you?

See, you get these ideas.

You get it mixed up between praying and other tongues to the Lord, like when we pray in tongues.

We pray out loud, everybody hears each other praying in tongues, and all that.

Well, we're not speaking to each other.

We're speaking to Him.

Power of unified speech.

But now, if we have a message in tongues, so so, so, so, so so.

Now you didn't get a thing out of that and I was talking to you.

I'm going to give the interpretation.

Yes, says the Lord.

I want all of my people to be baptized in my spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and I want you to delve into the gifts of the spirit whereby you can exhort, edify and comfort each other with these inspired utterances.

I want you to be able to pray with the power of unified speech in these days, for I've set this gift in the church especially and specifically for the end days in which you are living.

So rise up and possess all of my promises, say of the Lord and speak together my wonderful works, hallelujah.

Come on, lift your hands and receive.

Glory to God.

Now you got something out of that last part right.

See the difference.

Now you know the way I roll is prophecy.

I typically don't do that.

Why'd you do it this time?

I heard myself do it this morning when I was praying.

Another time I saw myself doing that with you to teach you by precept an example.

And of course, you know, whenever the Hankins come, they they flow in that a lot.

When a trainer will give a message in tongue, and sometimes her messaging tongue starts out in English and then she lapses over in tongues.

You know I love the way they flow together and then he just picks it up and they'll go back and forth, back and forth and instead of him just getting up and prophesying all by himself.

It's the way that God uses them together, you know, in their ministry.

Come on, let's lift our hands right now.

Father, we thank you for the power of prayer, we thank you for the power of unified speech and, father, we, we absolutely are committed to moving into those things that you've called us into and we're going to root out, we're going to drive out and we're going to build and plant in these days the things that need to be done before your return.
