Victory Mindset: Qualities Of A Giant Killer

Praise God.

Who needs to hear a good victory message tonight?

I do so.

I'm preaching it myself and I hope you leave here 10 foot tall and bullet proof, because my Bible fell open this week, just fell open to 1 Samuel 17.

How many of y'all know what famous victory stories of 1 Samuel 17?

David and Goliath.

So I just want to start out with something from the New Testament, just reminding you.

1 John 5, verse 4 says this For whatever is born of God, everybody say that's me whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world.

1 John 5:4

Our faith, our faith.

So everything we hear tonight, I want you to put yourself right there in that battle because we win.

And then we're just going to get right into 1 Samuel 17 and just open up a can tonight and just pick through it tonight for the nuggets that we can, because my title tonight is Victory Mindset Qualities of a Giant Killer.

And you're going to be a giant killer.

God put us here at the end of days and he put victory on the inside of you.

He put his power on you, he put his name on you and brought you into his family.

And so let's just look at the characters in this mighty, epic, enduring, prophetic account.

I wouldn't call it a story because then that sounds like it's made up.

It's a prophetic account that played out, that prefigured the victory of Jesus on the cross.

So it prefigured that and it also prefigured the victory of Jesus, the prince of peace, over the anti Christ, over the beast and over all the devil and demon powers, and his ultimate victory at that battle of Armageddon.

It is woven throughout history and so we've got to live this today.

We are God's arm today to live this same kind of triumph every day.

And so who was David?

Who was David?

If you look back just one chapter, you can see that this is the same David who was a young boy.

He was the youngest of his father's eight kids.

His dad was really old now, really old but David was already anointed king because God.

He saw all the brothers, the tall, handsome brothers that were so skilled, and God just passed over them and over them and over them, and he landed on David and he said to the prophet, samuel, who was there.

Samuel came knocking on Jesse's door, knocking on that daddy's door.

One of your sons is going to be king.

And Jesse just thought it was going to be any other son.

But Samuel looked at those people.

He looked and he looked at one son and the next one and he said well, do you have any other sons?

Where was David?

He was out in the field keeping his father's sheep and so when Samuel saw David, he knew that's the one.

And the Lord said to Samuel do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have.

I'm sorry he saw the older son.

I have refused him, for the Lord does not see as man sees.

Man looks at the outward appearance, the Lord looks at the heart.

So David was a man chosen by God, not for his outward appearance but for his heart, after God.

And he was now who.

And Jesse he's the son of.

David was the son of Jesse.

Jesse was the son of somebody named Obed.

Obed was the son of somebody named Boaz who was married to Ruth.

So Bo and if you know anything about the Bible, you might want to read the book of Ruth Sunday Ruth is pretty special and so David was Boaz and Ruth's great grandchild.

So he, he carried a genealogy with him and so that was behind him.

Now, looking forward, you know, david, right there in his body had the seed of both Mary and Joseph.

So he was the Messiah.

He was carrying the seed of the Messiah on the earth in his day, and so there was a demonic attack against him and against all of the people of Israel, because the devil did not want Messiah to be born in the earth.

The devil did not want to be beaten, and he still doesn't.

All right, so that's who David was.

Who are you?

Who are you?

Romans 8.16 says you're a joint heir with Christ.

We know that you are.

You are so your, your brothers with Jesus.

Everything that he bought and paid for, everything that he is now, we get to buy into that.

We were adopted into his family, all right.

And then we are.

We are the glorious bride of Christ, ephesians 5.

That, and Jesus is coming back for that bride without spot or wrinkle.

And you say, claire, that's weird.

How can I be Jesus's brother and his wife?

That's weird.

That's, that's weird.

But all I can say is there are these.

God uses these relationships, these human relationships that people can understand, to show all the different ways that God loves us and has connected us into his family.

We are solid in it.

So when God sees you.

He loves you with every kind of possible human love that you can imagine, only on God's level.

It is unconditional, it is awesome, and he has brought you into his family in every possible level and he loves you.

And so we.

We got to know that we are wrapped up all in everything Jesus did and, by extension, what David did.

We've got, we carry that, we carry that on the inside of us, that victory that he had.

So so David, here he was.

He was anointed at a young age as king.

Samuel the prophet came and poured an entire horn of oil on his head and said you're going to be king and not Saul anymore.

Saul was the very first king of Israel.

Prior to, prior to Saul, israel didn't even have any kings.

They were ruled by Jesus, or God himself was their king, and they were organized and ruled by various judges, who were usually valiant warriors or wise people who would just bring and remind the Israelites of the, the covenant that they had with God, and that was their form of government.

But then, no, that wasn't good enough.

They wanted to be like the other nations of the world and have a king, so they chose Saul.

Saul was good looking, he was tall, he was very handsome and they thought he would be a great leader.

And.

But then Saul was rejected as leader.

Because he, he was shown, he started out good, but then he disobeyed God.

He began to take the credit and the glory on himself and he then he disobeyed God and then God rejected him.

But then Saul, in this story, where, where we come in here, saul is still the king of Israel, but he does not have the anointing to lead anymore.

The anointing has been transferred to David and all Saul is left with is a troubling spirit and he has no peace and no rest on himself.

He is vexed at all sides.

So that's Saul.

We got David, and now we got Goliath, the other major force in this account here.

And who is Goliath?

Well, let's read about it.

I'm going to start Goliath verse.

Let's just set up the story.

We'll just read it from starting with the verse one.

Now the Philistines gathered their armies.

Philistines were enemies of Israel and they gathered their armies together to battle and were gathered at Sukkah, which belongs to Judah, and they encamp.

So they're in Judah's land.

They are trespassing.

Does the devil ever trespass on your land?

Yes, every time you have trouble and tribulation and problems on this earth.

They are illegal because God has told us that we have a promise to combat that.

But the devil does come and he trespasses All right.

And so they were trespassing and Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together and they encamped in the valley of a law and drew up in the battle array against the Philistines.

And Philistines stood on a mountain on one side and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side, so we can see the two mountains, and then there's a valley between.

And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath of Gath.

His height was six cubits in a span.

Some people say that's about 10 feet tall.

Anyway, from nine to 11 foot tall is how I've heard it, but that's about twice as tall as I am.

And so just for some perspective there.

And he had a bronze helmet on his head and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was 5,000 shekels of bronze.

So it's heavy, it's expensive.

It has shown that the entire Philistine society has placed all of their trust in this one really physical specimen, I mean.

And he's got a.

He has got a bronze armor on his legs, a bronze javelin between his shoulders and the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam.

A regular guy couldn't probably even lift a weaver's beam and this guy carries one around with him all the time and uses it.

So he was intimidating.

Is the devil sometimes intimidating in your life?

Does it look like he's got all of his armor on?

And just what we're fighting in our society today?

It looks like the devil got this thing locked up.

And I'm just telling you there is a God factor we're about to see and we are living it right now.

We are living it right now.

So this is Goliath and he is a.

He's a dread champion.

And and not only did he have an armor, but and the iron spearhead weighed 600 shekels and a shield bearer went before him.

So in K like he probably didn't even need the shield bearer, it was just really there for show, because he's got all.

Every part of him is covered with some kind of humongous armor, and he didn't, but the shield bearer was just there Just to look good and so, and so he's yelling.

And who is Goliath?

He represents the devil and demon powers.

Literally, he represents the devil and demon powers and here so he is the devil's guy and David is God's guy.

And there is them.

They're on their mountains looking down, all right, but David's not even.

Actually, david's not even there yet in this story.

So let's keep reading.

And and David is just, is just really humble.

So that's actually point number one is the quality of a giant killer.

David was most of all humble.

He had, yes, he was anointed king and he was carrying an anointing to be king and in fact, while carrying that anointing, unbeknownst to Saul, saul didn't know that he was, that David had been anointed king.

And Saul was just dealing with this distressing spirit from, you know, he, he, he, the anointing left him and now he's really vexed.

And so he said who can play me some music up in here so I can feel better?

And he, and then one of his court said well, and I think Samuel said well, you know, david, david plays the harp.

There's this shepherd boy out in Bethlehem, you should get him up in, you should get him.

And so already Saul begins to have this relationship with David and already starts.

And so David's comfortable in the court.

Saul really likes him, I mean, takes a shine to him and and David, but David still goes back and forth.

He does not stay in the court all the time.

Dad, I'm sorry, I can't watch your sheep anymore.

I have been promoted to the palace now.

No, he's still happy to watch his dad's sheep, and and he never will.

As we read, you'll see, he never takes credit for himself.

It's always about the Lord.

He's always fighting on behalf of the Lord.

So he stays humble, and and he was faithful over his father's house, even when he leaves.

Well, let's just read Um, so, so he stayed humble, and then um.

And then point number two is you got to value the word of God.

You got to value the word of God and not the word of critics.

So we're going to keep reading here.

What are the word of critics?

Well, the critic number one against, against all of Israel and later against David, is Goliath himself.

So let's read what he says.

So he stood verse eight and cried out to the armies of Israel and said to them why have you come out to line up for this battle?

Am I not a Philistine and you, the servants of Saul, choose a man for yourselves and let him come out to me, come down to me, and if he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants.

We know later that this is not a genuine statement here.

Oh yeah, just send me some guy and if he beats me, will all of the Philistines will all serve the Israelites.

Well, no, no, that was a lie anyway.

So we will, though.

We will be your servants and if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.

And the Philistines said I defy the armies of Israel this day.

Give me a man that we may fight together.

And then listen to the, the, the reaction.

When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistines, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.

So here is this covenant people, god's people, I feel so like this is what I see this happening today.

Why are church people afraid?

Stop being afraid.

Saul was afraid because he didn't have the anointing on him anymore.

The people of Israel were afraid because they didn't know their covenant anymore.

They forgot about God's covenant.

But thank God, there was one guy.

There was somebody who knew who he was, who knew the covenant of God and was not going to stand for this giant spouting off talking trash to God's people.

All right, so David valued, but David hadn't even come on the scene yet.

So we'll get that in a minute.

So let's keep reading Now.

David was a son of Jesse, and we already know about that, and but his three older brothers were there on the battlefield.

They were right there listening to that that Goliath was saying, and David occasionally went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem and the Philistine drew near and presented himself.

This is something I had never seen before.

Verse 16,.

He presented himself 40 days, morning and night.

Goliath didn't just shout out one time and then David came and killed him.

No, no, no.

This.

Had this battle lasted, it had to draw out every morning, every night, 40 days.

We already read that thing.

That Goliath would say he had a speech and he would just belt that out every time.

And imagine the intimidating factor that it had.

It worked.

It worked on every scared Israelite who did not know their covenant, and it still works today.

But it will not work on you, hallelujah, it will not work.

And so, immediately so Jesse told his son David take now over yourselves for your brother and effa of dried grain and these tin loaves, so you're gonna get bread for the brothers, cheese for their captains, and I want you to take them down to the battlefield.

So finally David comes, and for 40 days Goliath's been spouting his words and finally David shows up and he's the first.

When he first hears it, he knows immediately this.

No, this can't stand.

And so so, and they're just making conversation.

David's there now, on site, and so the men of Israel said have you seen this man who came up?

Surely he has come up to defy Israel.

And it shall be that the man who kills him will the king and rich with great riches, and give him his daughter and his father's house exemption from taxes in Israel.

So there's a reward for anybody who's gonna fight against this guy.

And it just noticed that they said surely he has come.

They said Goliath has come to defy Israel.

And I noticed that today the battle that we're facing is against its good versus evil.

It is not just America versus communism, it is not just straight people versus gay people, it's not just all the races fighting against each other.

It is literally good versus evil.

And when we define the battle in any other way, we are less powerful than that.

We are susceptible to fear and an intimidation from the devil.

You notice how?

That's how the men of Israel.

That's how they saw it.

He came up to defy Israel, whereas David said who are you that you would defy the armies of the living God?

And it is, this spirit of darkness is defying the living God and the Holy Spirit in the church today, and we can't let that.

We just Hallelujah.

It's a different battle, all right.

So then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying what shall be done for this man who kills this Philistine, who takes away the reproach from Israel?

Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?

I want y'all to get that in your thinking right now.

Who is this person with no covenant that would defy the armies of the living God?

Hallelujah, that's the battle, right there, all right now.

There was a naysayer, and there always are naysayers, and in verse 28, you can read about his jealous older brother, eliab, or Eliab, I don't know, I don't speak Hebrew yet.

Maybe Tara can tell me how to pronounce it.

But Eliab, his older brother, heard when he spoke to the men and Eliab's anger was around against David I would say it's jealousy and he said why did you come down here and with whom have you left these few sheep in the wilderness?

Well, actually David thought of that already.

He left them with a keeper.

He was faithful over his father's house.

But the accusation was you're a lazy slugger.

You left those sheep all by themselves.

And I know your pride and the insolence of your heart that you have come down to see the battle.

You're just nosy and you're just prideful.

And how many times has the devil made it look like?

There's always a naysayer that say oh well, you're just arrogant, you're just prideful, you're just nosy to see what's going on.

No, no, but I know the plan of God and I wanna see it play out on the earth and I know I'm his instrument and I'm gonna help him everywhere I can, in my own way and in your own way, and we're gonna together.

We all have the pieces and we can fix it.

We can with the power of God.

All right, but there was a naysayer and it came from jealousy and I see this actually coming now from other churches, other, I mean, the glory of God.

Blessed is the man who delights greatly in his command, greatly to be envied.

Blessed means greatly, greatly to be envied, and there will be some envy and jealousy and people naysayin'.

And David did not care about him at all, but that's my older brother.

I can't believe who cares.

He did not listen to him, and we can't listen to them either.

All right, so David answered him, and we gotta answer them.

What have I done now?

Is there not a cause?

Wait with me, is there not a cause?

And so he turned him toward another and said the same thing.

And these people answered him as the first ones did.

And so here's David spreading his fire among the people.

Now, and Alright, so now he's got to convince Saul to let him be the guy I'm going to be the guy that's going to fight this giant.

And so let's read in verse 34.

David said to Saul your servant, that's me.

David used to keep his father sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took the lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it and delivered the lamb from its mouth, and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard and struck it and killed it.

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear, and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

Moreover, david said the Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear.

He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.

Hallelujah, hallelujah.

So what I see here is the giant killer.

Test his weapons.

He test his weapons.

He used what God gave him his two hands, his slingshot.

He was faithful in service to his father, keeping the sheep, and when he did that, god backed him up.

He used his weapons that he had and he grew and he got more and more confident and more and more confident.

Let's just take this on a real, personal level.

Let's say you have a stuffy nose or a headache or some minor symptom of something.

Well, what do you have that you can use?

Oh God, I'm healed.

The same faith, just what Jane said tonight, same faith that got me saved.

I believe that I received my healing and I am healed and I'm going to use my faith against that thing and I, until I completely, am able, and I don't care what the doctor says about it If the test still shows that.

You know there's an infection in my nose and that's why I'm still sniffling, or I don't care what the test says.

I know that I'm just going to power through that and I'm going to not let it stop me from accomplishing the plan of God.

I don't care if the devil, I don't care if the test shows I don't have a pancreas.

I have.

I, literally my cousin does not have a pancreas.

I don't know how she lived, because that's a vital organ, but she somehow lives and and and thrives and prays and serves the Lord.

She goes to cornerstone church and in San Antonio, texas, and her name is Christina Martin and she does not have a pancreas.

I don't understand it.

I have no clue, how it were.

I haven't asked enough questions.

I guess I needed to ask them.

But she is just fine and dandy, thank you, and you know what she just, um, we just, I don't care what the test says, I care about the function.

I care about, uh, I care about, I don't the cancer.

Oh, what the test said.

The cancer came back.

Uh, we have a lady fighting cancer right now.

She's been fighting it for years.

Uh, the doctor said there wasn't anything to do for this.

She could do.

She's just as healthy.

I don't know what the tests say today.

I don't care, because she is living her best life.

She's strong and able.

She drives herself to church from across town every single Sunday and praise and just has a great life.

And um, praise God, the test might show she has cancer for the next 10 years.

I don't care what the test shows, she's living, she's a living proof, all right.

So, anyway, we got to use our weapons.

We got to use them and then they grow and we're, when we're faithful over little, god will make us ruler over much.

But we don't get there overnight.

We just keep using our faith.

Our faith is a muscle.

It will grow when we use it.

All right, so he tested his weapons.

And um, in second Corinthians, chapter 10, you know I have to go to the New Testament sometime tonight Verse three, it says though we walk I'm going to read it in the Amplified for though we walk or live in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

2 Corinthians 10 · chapter mention

For the weapons of our warfare warfare I'm going to take my trays out so I can talk are not physical, they're not weapons of the flesh and blood, but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.

Haha, I love that overthrow and destruction of strongholds in as much as we refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God, that we lead every thought and purpose away, captive into the obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one being in readiness to punish every insubordinate for his disobedience when your own submission and obedience as a church are fully secured and complete.

Amen, we are.

We are not fighting a physical war, uh God, though if we were led into one, I pray that we're not.

So let's just talk about the spiritual side.

We are fighting a spiritual war.

It is a spiritual battle.

It is not even a political battle.

It is not a physical battle.

It is against darkness.

We all have our own darkness that we're fighting every day in our own lives.

We fight.

So you can apply this in your life, uh, but we do have some people who care about our country right now and care about um are just the crime in our own city, and we have different fronts that we're facing on this.

But I want to encourage you.

This is literally, uh, there there's evil, there's, there's evil perpetrated every day, and we've got to fight that.

It's not just uh, it's, it's a demonic power, it's a Goliath.

So, anyway, we're, we're anointed to defeat it.

All right, so we're just testing our weapons.

And uh, and one of the weapons is, is, is armor.

And this is interesting, saul.

Saul starts to feel sorry for David.

Look, I can see you're kind of a short guy and I'm about to send you out against this 10 foot tall guy giant.

And um, don't you want some armor?

And um, and so, uh, saul clothed David with his armor Everybody say Saul's armor.

So he put a bronze helmet on his head.

So David's now trying on the armor.

Okay, and I'm sure it's very expensive, very nice, it's the Armani suit of armors.

And, uh, bronze helmet, uh, coat of mail, uh, had a Saul sword and all the armor.

And David tried to walk, for he had not tested them.

And David said to Saul, I can't walk with these, I have not tested them.

So David took them off.

If you have not tested the armor, you can't wear it.

It doesn't mean.

I mean, david didn't need somebody else's armor, he didn't need a title, he didn't need anything fancy from anyone else, he just needed the anointing of the Holy ghost.

And you've got that.

You have that, and no one and that is itself an armor and no one else can see your armor.

But you got it on, you have the full armor of God, ephesians 6, 10.

Hallelujah, so we have armor.

It might not show, and actually that worked in his favor, didn't it?

All right, so, um, and then we look at the sword versus the sling.

Let's read in verse 40.

When he took his staff, that's, david took his staff in his hand and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook and he put them in a shepherd's bag and a pouch that he had, and his sling was in his hand and he drew near to the Philistine.

So you can see the contrast of the awesome weapon of Goliath versus the slingshot of David.

And the Philistine came and began drawing near to David and the man who bore the shield went before him and when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him.

Have you ever felt disdained?

For he was only a youth, ruddy and good looking.

You know, some people say that David was about 16 when this happened.

My son is almost 16.

He kind of, he's a little pink.

And so the Philistine said to David he's not here to be embarrassed or mad at me.

He would be mad at me and said to David am I a dog that you come to me with sticks and the Philistine cursed David by his gods, his useless, worthless gods.

But who cares about your gods?

Goliath?

And the Philistine said to David, come to me and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field.

Oh, intimidating factor Was David.

Did it work on David?

No, no, he just spoke the word of God.

He spoke who he was, he spoke why he was fighting.

So David said to the Philistine everybody say.

David said I'm going to quote Mark Hankins here y'all know I got to say it Never run at your giant with your mouth closed.

You have to have some words in your mouth when you are fighting.

In fact, the words, the words were the whole battle.

The word bespoken before.

Yes, he had his weapons ready, but his words were what wins?

You know, you can tell in a boxing match.

I'm not a, I just have only watched with my daddy because he likes boxing.

But they say you can tell the one at the beginning with the most confidence is likelier to win.

He just has that confidence.

He has that eye of the tiger.

I was talking to a lady on the phone recently who does not attend the search, but she had many, many life problems, many, many on multi fronts.

And so it's like whack-a-mole and you can start talking to a minister or two or one thing that should say, oh, but this but grasshopper, and and then and everything.

But she didn't have a lot of wiggle room.

Like she had this situation that like she needed to get some stuff in control or the devil is going to take her down.

So I told her, I said you need the eye of the tiger.

She said I had a tiger.

What's that?

Have you all never saw?

Have you never saw Rocky?

I don't know the eye of the tiger.

You know where.

You know you're going to win before it ever happens.

How can you even have that?

Because you read the word, because you spent time meditating on your covenant, because you spent time with the, the dread champion, jesus, the master of our salvation, because you spent time with him, and then you will understand that you are the winner.

You really are the winner before the battle ever started.

So David knew that.

So he goes in there and listened to his words.

Ha ha ha.

You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts and the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defiled.

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will strike you and take your head from you.

He did not even have a sword, he had nothing to do that.

But he said I'm about to take your head off.

This day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth.

And all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

I feel the anointing.

All the earth will know there is a God in Israel.

All the earth will know there is a God in Alex.

All the earth will know there is a God in Irma.

They will know that there is power.

Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hands.

There's God.

And so it was when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David that David hurried and ran not sculpt, not snuck, not eeked.

He ran toward the army to meet the Philistine and David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and he slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead.

I don't know how he got it through that giant helmet, but he did right there, so that the stone sank into the earth oh, sank into the forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

So how did he fall in his face if he was hit from the front?

So Goliath must have been running toward him, had some momentum forward, momentum going, and so David prevailed.

Everybody say David prevailed, everybody say I will prevail over the Philistine with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine and killed him.

And there was no sword in the hand of David.

Therefore, david ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of the sheath and killed him and cut off his head with it.

Hallelujah, the same weapon that the devil tried to use against you, that he intended and built to make you scared and afraid and to use against you to kill you.

You are going to grab it and give it right back to him.

It will be the same way, because Jesus did this.

This is what he did.

The cross Are you kidding me?

Are you kidding me?

Now we wear it as a symbol of victory.

It was a symbol of defeat and death and shame that only criminals would die that way.

But no, we use it.

It's our victory, hallelujah.

All right, so the very weapon.

And then, then the Philistines saw their champion was dead and they said, oh, let's serve the Israelites, because we said that's what we do, right, we're always going to keep our word.

No, no, they did not keep their word.

They fled, they ran away.

And now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron.

In other words, they went all the way back home.

We chased them all the way back home and the wounded of the Philistines fell along the road all the way.

All the places and the children of Israel returned from chasing the Philistines and they plundered their tents.

So now the wealth of the wicked was laid up for the jest.

Now the entire spoils of war have now come into the kingdom of God to be used for the kingdom of God, and they have been taken out of the gates of hell and used for righteousness.

I believe there is a transfer of wealth coming, hallelujah.

Do I see it with my eyes?

No, I don't.

I don't see it yet, but I see it in the word and I know that my God shall supply all our needs.

Amen, all right.

So then what happened?

And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem.

Now, jerusalem was about 20 miles away.

Why would David carry the giant must have been a giant head of Goliath.

Why would he carry it?

And there have been really cool paintings of this very subject.

I have seen one in, I think.

Did I dream that?

I think I saw it in a gallery in Italy?

But anyway, that this gruesome, you know, here's David smiling.

He's carrying this gruesome head of Goliath, but he carried it 20 miles back to Jerusalem.

And so now I'm in speculation mode.

Okay, I'm not in word mode, I'm just the word said.

He carried it to Jerusalem, but would he have been able to take it into the city?

No, because it would have been.

Everyone would have been unclean, right?

Because they Jewish law did not allow dead things in the city.

You cannot have dead in the city.

So they had to leave it outside the city.

And so there is historical speculation and some proof maybe, that the head of Goliath was displayed on a certain hill outside the city of Jerusalem, that Goliath of Gaff was just his head was displayed on Golgotha just a speculation, and that it was there.

And then it was then later buried on that hill, named the hill of the skull.

And so then, jesus.

But whether it's true or not, the symbolism still holds David the natural king to be killed, the natural evil force, and Jesus, the king, forever killed the demonic, spiritual evil force and that, and secured that victory for us forever.

And then turn with me to Revelation 19.

Y'all are going to, this is going to.

I know I've probably shared this with y'all before, but I love, I love.

The word is so layers of goodness.

One time I was reading my Bible and I saw this for the first time, verse 17, 1917,.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven Now, this is, this is now when, when Jesus, the king of kings and Lord of lords, is about to beat the beast, the, the anti Christ, the beast and he says he was crying the angel cried with a loud voice to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven Come gather together for the supper of the great God that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses.

In other words, I'm going to feed you to the birds, just like David said to Goliath I am going to feed you to the birds.

Come on, birds, come eat.

Okay.

And then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse?

That's Jesus, and against his army that's you.

And then the beast was captured and with him the false prophet who worked signs in the presence, by which he deceived those who were, who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.

And these two were cast alive, every day alive, into the lake of the burning, with the lake of fire burning with brinstone.

And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of him, jesus, who sat on the horse.

You know he has that double edged sword that is the word of God that proceeds from his mouth, and it's sharp and it's powerful, and so it kills every force of darkness that comes against him.

And all the birds were filled with their flesh and verse chapter 20, then I saw an angel coming down from heaven having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand, and he laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old who was the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up.

Everybody say shut him up.

He shut him up, hallelujah, all right.

And that's for a thousand years.

And then the story goes on.

But I just wanted y'all to see the end of the book.

I'm telling you we're feeding the devil to the birds and then we're going to watch Jesus.

We're going to be there to watch Jesus.

Shut him up, shut him up.

And so we're shutting him up right now.

Every time we get any kind of victory over any force of darkness, any time you get a victory in your personal life, over your health, your finances, your kids, any time we can bring the light to our community and help someone else get deliverance, get set free from, and anytime we can keep kids from having to get somebody talking them into having a hysterectomy when they're seven or whatever, if we can save the future of our kids, if we can save that, whatever we do to advance the kingdom of God.

Every time we do that, we are reliving this victory.

We are reliving this victory and we're beating the giant.

We are killing giants every day in Jesus' name, and we're not going to ever be afraid of no giant, because we are the covenant people of God and down with his name and his power.
