Sending The Word

Let's lift our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad and the devil mad.

Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, I've tuned in on purpose because I'm hungry for the Word of God.

I know the Word and the Spirit are the remedy for those things that come against me.

I am an overcomer and I overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of my testimony.

That is my testimony of what the blood has purchased for me.

Hallelujah, amen.

All right, let's turn to Isaiah, book of Isaiah, 55.

And we'll start reading with verse 10.

Also Jeremiah, the next few pages over to the right.

Jeremiah, chapter one.

Isaiah, verse 10,.

For as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven and return is not fither but water at the earth and maketh it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth.

It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it.

And then Jeremiah, chapter one, verse 12,.

Then said the Lord unto me, thou hast well said, for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Oh.

So tonight I wanted to just share encouragement with you, sending the word.

Sending the word, you know, back just about this time of the year, all the way back in 2003,.

So that's been a long time ago.

That was when we were pouring the slabs in our this slab had been poured on this building, we were already starting to raise the balls and then we were had just finished the slab on the, on the lobby and on the children's church, and I came over one day and the Spirit of God spoke to me that day and he said there's a dearth of the word.

And I said, lord, I don't understand that.

I said how could there be?

A dearth means famine, it's an Old Testament word means famine.

I said how could it be?

There's more churches.

I know some of the churches are dead and some of them don't preach the word, but I mean, as far as as numbers, I mean there's more of the word preached now than ever before.

And he said your children don't know what you know.

And of course, when he said that, I knew he wasn't talking about my kids, but he was talking about the next generation.

And you think about how we've awakened now, in 2022.

It's 19 years later and we we do have a huge gap in the generations and it's it's beginning to put pressure in families, pressure in our society.

Your children don't know what you know.

So I redoubled my efforts to make sure that we were teaching and preaching the words.

Matter of fact, I met with children, church teachers.

I had a, I called a meeting and I had them all come in and I said, okay, we've been, we've been having, you know, some fun in there.

But I said I hear kids saying so, and so is my favorite teacher, so, and so is my favorite teacher.

And I said you know, we're not in a competition to win a favor with the kids.

What we need to do is teach them the words.

So we're going to have a curriculum, we're going to teach the word, we're going to make sure these children are taught the word at their level.

And I had about most of my children church teachers resigned and leave.

They'd rather give away bicycles and pizza and all that kind of silly stuff.

I mean you know, look, you can bribe kids to sit, you know through something, but you know, look, they need the word on their level.

So I began right where I was.

I write in my church, I began to teach the things that I take for granted.

I mean, god delivered me from fear of repetition.

I've preached this, this particular message, a numbers of times, but I just know that we need it, especially now.

And then, just a few months later, in August of I actually July of 2004, dr Orle Roberts had a visitation from the Lord, and the Lord basically said there's a wasting of power in the church.

Among other things, he also said that the church needed to be awakened, that it was not ready for the second coming of the Lord, and so what a waste to fail to send the word toward trouble, toward situations, toward our bodies, toward our marriages, toward our children.

I mean, we, we have this wonderful word that's been written down so it could be spoken or sent.

You know, we send letters, we send emails and we send texts.

We ought to send the word, and I know most of us do that, but this is just, you know, to kind of keep you energized in that direction.

Here, in Isaiah 55, we read that God sends His word.

He sends it and he sent it.

You know, he sent His word and healed us, delivered us from destruction.

He sent Jesus the word.

Jesus was a sent one and he didn't go back to heaven not prospering.

He prospered in the thing, where too he sent it.

Who was he sent to?

He was sent for us.

He's raised up many sons under glory.

He's healed us.

He sent His word and healed us, delivered us from destruction.

And.

And so God changes and creates by sending the word.

You know you can.

You can create something new or you can change something that is it's both seed and water.

According to this word, it's, it's, it's water, it's like snow, it's like rain, it's also seed, it's two things at once.

So if you've already sent the word towards something where you can water it by sending the word again and it won't come back void, and you know you're gonna have a lot better results than Elvis.

Remember Elvis had that song Return to Sender.

He sent a letter to his love when it kept coming back.

Return to Sender.

Well, you know, god's word doesn't return back.

It prospers in the thing where to it is sent.

It accomplishes what he pleases.

And God's word in our mouth does the same thing as God's word in his mouth.

It prospers where we send it.

It accomplishes what we please, amen.

And it doesn't return to boy does.

And so, and then, and when I was reading here Jeremiah 112, just of such a powerful, you know, we can just kind of read that it's the second part of the verse 12.

I hasten my word to perform it.

The word hasten means he'll be sleepless, he'll be tireless, he'll be relentless over his word to perform it.

In other words, he's busy to carry it out, he's busy to make it come true, he's busy to put it into effect.

He's busy to do it.

See, let the word do the work.

You know, we don't have to do it.

God's word will do a work all by itself.

All we have to do is believe it when we speak it.

That's the part we have to think about.

We have to believe what we say comes to pass and we shall have whatever we say.

Mark 11, 23.

I know you're a pastor, you've how many times I'm gonna keep saying it.

I'm gonna keep saying it because we're in the minority in the church world.

Very few people practice this and we need to be examples to everyone that we're around about the word and what comes out of our mouth.

You know, as I said, god sent Jesus to the earth and he didn't return to God void.

He did everything he was supposed to do and he thoroughly finished it and perfected it.

And so let's look at James here just a moment.

Here, james, chapter three, the power of our words.

And you know I like James.

James is the Lord's brother and he was kind of late to the party.

I mean, he didn't believe in his brother, he didn't believe he was a Messiah, he was one of the doubters.

We don't know exactly his whole testimony, I don't know exactly when he turned, but he really was the head of the church in Jerusalem, not Peter.

James is the head of the church in Jerusalem.

And here in verse five, he says even so, the tongue is a little member and boasteth great things.

Behold how great a matter.

A little fire kindled.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.

So is the tongue among our members that it defileeth the whole body and seteth on fire the course of nature and is set on fire of hell.

The NLT says it can set our whole life on fire.

Our tongue, or in other words the words that we speak, can set our lives on fire, can set your marriage on fire, can set your kids on fire, can set your finances on fire, just like burning up money.

I mean, the wrong words can do great damage, even though your tongue is a small little thing.

And so he's coming at it from the negative side.

But the positive side is where I want to come from.

Speaking God's Word seems like such a small thing, but what a powerful difference it makes.

All the difference, makes all the difference in what happens is what we say about it.

When we speak the Word and send the Word to these circumstances and it just seems like as an insignificant, as a match.

You know you've got one match.

You can lie to match and throw it.

You know, in a forest and it can get on that dry pine needles and get in those dry leaves and it can set an entire forest on fire.

Just a little match that big.

And so he's using that as the negative side of how powerful the words are.

But I want to turn it around and say this is significant.

Sometimes it seems that speaking the Word is toward this huge problem.

This problem has gotten so big and you've been thinking about it and you've been sleepless over it and you've been thinking about how you can solve it and all of that.

Listen, send the Word to it because it might seem so insignificant, but one word from God can destroy what the devil is trying to do, can turn everything around.

Just one word, one believing word out of your mouth, and so and it's the Bible says that God watches over his Word to perform it.

Let's look at Hebrews, just a few pages over to the left here we were in James, over to Hebrews, chapter three, and I want to remind you of the present day.

Ministry of the Lord is a lot of things that you think about Jesus being in heaven, seated at the right end of the Father, but he's busy all the time.

I mean he's busy.

He's busy greeting people that come to heaven.

He's busy and notice what it says here in chapter one, chapter three, verse one, wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider, that is, don't forget, remember the apostle and high priest of our profession, christ Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our profession, or our confession of the word.

Remember him, don't forget him.

He's the apostle.

What is an apostle?

It's a sent one.

He's been sent and now he's sent to be our high priest.

Now, you know, as Christians we're not real familiar with high priest ministry, but the high priest his specifically, he administers, executes and implements and carries into effect His word that we send.

Say again, jeremiah one 12,.

He watches over, he's sleepless over it, he is busy about it.

He's watching over and administering and executing and implementing and carrying into effect the words that we send.

Oh, I mean, he's not out of touch with us.

He hears every word and he is immediately sleepless over it.

Why should we lose any sleep Once we've sent the word?

We can go to sleep, we can rest all night If we are believing.

Our faith is working all night long, and our high priest, who is faithful, says in the next verse who was faithful to him that appointed him is also.

Moses was faithful in all his house.

So Jesus was appointed to do this by the Father and he is faithful to do it.

He's sleepless over the words that we speak.

When we speak his Word, praise God.

He is the Word, and so I like this in Acts 10.

Let's flip over there real quick.

Just give you an example of how instant it is.

This is Peter preaching to Cornelius's house and you know, peter was just a little bit reluctant to go because Cornelius was a Gentile and Jews didn't.

You know, they still had a lot of Judaism hanging over him.

See, god had to give him a vision of the you know, the sheet with the full unclean animals don't call what I've cleansed unclean.

And so he went go with them, nothing doubting.

So he did.

And in Acts 10, 44, he's preaching to Cornelius and all of his kinfolk and all of his near friends.

And it says, while Peter yet spake these words, what was he speaking?

He's speaking the gospel, he's preaching the gospel.

And while he was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all of them which heard the word and they have the circumcision which believed, were astonished as many as came with Peter because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Right in the middle of his preaching.

He got, they all got baptized the Holy.

Not only were they saved while he was preaching, they got baptized in the Holy Ghost.

So what we're seeing is that that Jesus, as the apostle and high priest of our profession, he watched over that word and he went right into those believing hearts and they just there was no effort, I mean, they all got saved and they all got filled with the Holy Ghost.

I mean, praise God, he didn't have to send it but a few feet.

I don't know how close they were to Peter.

They didn't have a sound system, so they had to be gathered together in one room.

But boy, I'm telling you from the his mouth to their ears boom, the apostle and high priest of our profession watched over, he carried into effect his word and they all got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, hallelujah.

So let's send the word, let's remember, let's, let's stir ourselves up, especially during the Christmas season.

You know we've got all these busy things are going on and, and you know I don't realize the news is not always well.

You don't hear the news, you hear narratives all the time.

So you have to keep that in mind.

But the first one I want to say is sending the word.

Number one send the word in prayer, pray the word, and I believe in praying.

I think prayer is important, but let's pray the word as well.

I mean all those Ephesians prayers Ephesians chapter one and two.

Ephesians chapter three.

Philippians one nine.

Colossians one nine, these Holy Ghost inspired prayers that were prayed by Paul.

I mean God gave these prayers to Paul to give to the church to.

If you wanna pray something, pray something.

That's man.

I mean it's already anointed, it's all greased up and ready for our high priest to watch over that word, to perform it.

He's sleepless until it comes to pass.

He carries it into effect.

And you know, really, when you pray the word, it's like you're confessing the word at the same time.

It's amazing what happens.

You get that multiplying effect.

So send the word in prayer over your lost loved ones, over your children, over your marriage, whatever it is.

Send the word in prayer.

Number two send the word to your flesh.

I do this all the time.

I have to text my flesh and tell it things.

I have to rule my flesh.

Paul said I keep my body under subjection.

Who's the eye?

He's talking about his spirit.

See I, paul, a spirit man, a spirit being, keep my flesh under subjection to my spirit.

Less, while having priests to others, I myself should become a castaway or be disqualified.

So you rule your flesh.

Cleanse your flesh, make it, obey you, make your.

You know, make your flesh do the right thing, yield your body as a temple of the Holy Ghost, you know.

So these are all valuable.

I like to go over a health checkup.

You know, years ago I had a partner that had a small plane, a single engine plane and we would often, you know, fly that thing to places you know, just make a quick trip somewhere.

I remember first we were going.

We went to college station one time and we just landed and we did made just I don't know what we did.

We did it at the airport and we turned around and came home.

I really don't remember the circumstances, but this is what I remember.

We checked the plane, did a whole checklist, went through the whole route.

Everything on this checklist is a long piece of it was encased in plastic, laminated plastic, and he would go through all of the gauges and he'd go all the way around the plane.

He would check the gasoline there's little bow that he would look and put it in a cup to make sure there wasn't any water and the fuel.

And we didn't fly long enough to refuel it.

We almost full just between here and college station.

So he didn't fill up and nobody did anything to the plane.

I mean, we landed, we got out of the plane, we met somebody.

He talked for a while, we got back in the plane.

He went through the entire checklist all over again.

I said what do we do?

Nothing's happened.

Why are we doing that.

I just do it every time.

I don't ever.

I don't ever make an exception.

If you do it every time, then you never give yourself chance to take a chance.

You know you take a chance in a plane and you're gonna die about nine times out of 10.

You come out of the air and you're gonna die.

You know it's not gonna end well.

And he was just thorough about that.

And so I think it's good to have a checklist on our health.

Let's go down the list.

I go down the list every night when I take a shower and I just I text every bodily system I have and make sure that it's performing right, and I demand that every system works the way it's designed.

So send the word to your flesh.

Send the word number three to your mind.

Tell your mind what to think about.

When you catch yourself, when you catch your mind thinking thoughts that are not complimentary of someone, you're thinking negatively, you're thinking bad.

You're thinking poor me, poor, victimized me.

Listen, stop yourself.

You take a charge.

I'm talking about your spirit man.

You say look, mind, you're gonna think this way.

Stop thinking that.

Think positively.

Give your mind what to think about, think the word and then finally send the Word to your circumstances.

I know it sounds obvious, but so many people I believe in prayer, but many times, instead of asking God to do something about the situation, except instead of asking God to do this, asking God listen.

He's giving you authority, he's giving you his name, he's giving you the blood, he's giving you the Word.

We really most of the things.

If you'll really transform the way you think about circumstances, you'll never ask God to do anything Again.

You'll just take authority.

You'll take your place of authority and demand certain things to occur or not to occur.

You'll bind and loose.

You know, this is the way we're designed to operate.

We're not designed to be like little babies.

Ask mama to open the ice box and give us a.

You know, give us a cold drink.

I mean, let's go to the refrigerator, let's go to our own self.

We've got.

We've got.

We know where the refrigerator is.

We know how to open the door.

We know how to get our own drink right.

That's grown up.

I mean we can even cook something for ourselves.

We don't have to have mama do it all.

We can do it.

It's the same principle.

Let's grow up and send the Word to our circumstances.

Now, remember, I do believe in prayer, but praying is not begging.

Praying is not asking God to do everything.

Praying is more about worshiping and praising and thanking and that type of prayer than it is all this asking God to do all these things.

Find out what belongs to you and and make a demand on your covenant, for instance, and you will see.

As you send the Word to circumstances, they begin to change, just like they always did with God.

God never put up with anything.

He would send the Word and circumstances would change.

He said light be, and light was Amen, and so we're designed to operate the same way.

So, sending the Word, let's lift our hand and receive tonight.

Praise God.

Father, I thank you that people are sending the Word in this holiday season.

We send gifts, we we send cards.

We're going to send the Word in the name of Jesus, hallelujah.

I hope you got something out of this simple word tonight, the Word of faith.

I, just every day that goes by, I'm so grateful for the background in the Word of faith.

It's changed my life, it's changed my family's life, it's changed this church.
