Lift our Bibles up and wave them around.
-
Make Jesus glad the devil may.
-
It's great to see all our families.
-
We've got some children in here today, had some great families last night.
-
Some of you came back for a second nose.
-
Isn't that great?
-
And let's all say this together Say Heavenly Father, it truly is a merry Christmas for me because I'm changed.
-
I remember how you came into my life.
-
You changed everything and you continue to change me through the Word and through the Spirit.
-
I've come to honor you today, but also I've come to change some more, to receive information that is eternal.
-
Truth is undeniable and I stake my life on it.
-
I cannot be persuaded otherwise.
-
In Jesus' name.
-
Amen, amen, hallelujah.
-
Well, let's read out of Luke chapter two.
-
I love the Christmas story and we can glean some things out of it today.
-
Luke, chapter two, verse one I mean the first verse.
-
It talks about taxes.
-
I ought to tell you something about autocrats, democrats they always raise taxes.
-
All right, verse one and it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
-
This is the Roman Empire.
-
They're worldwide.
-
This is pre-lead to the Antichrist spirit.
-
Let's read the Bible with knowledge.
-
Let's read the Bible like it's right now, because it's right now, and this taxing was first made with Serenius, was first made when Serenius was governor of Syria and all went to be taxed, everyone to his own city.
-
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, under Judea, under the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be taxed, with Mary, his espoused wife, being great with child.
-
And so it was that while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered, and she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
-
And there were, in the same country, shepherds abiding in the field keeping watch over their flock by night.
-
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were so afraid.
-
And the angel said unto them fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, for unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a savior which is Christ the Lord, and this shall be a sign unto you.
-
You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
-
And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying glory to God in the highest, and on earth, confusion and judgment, no shalom.
-
Peace, peace on earth, goodwill toward men.
-
And it came to pass.
-
As the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another let us now go, even unto Bethlehem and see this thing which has come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
-
And they came with hasten, found Mary and Joseph and the babe lying in a manger, and when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child, and all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
-
But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart, and the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen as it was told unto them.
-
And so look at verse 11,.
-
The angel said for unto you, say unto you, talking to the shepherds, unto you is born this day, this day, and so I just wanted to give you a simple message the day when everything changed.
-
There was a day and everything changed, and heaven and in earth and under the earth, everything changed on that day, oh, hallelujah.
-
That's why we celebrate, that's why you know it's not wrong to have Christmas trees and Santa Claus's and stuff, whatever you do to celebrate Christmas, but let's not lose the real meaning.
-
I'm telling you, it's fast disappearing before our eyes.
-
Thanks to Donald Trump, we went back to Merry Christmas.
-
He wouldn't have it any other way.
-
There's no happy holidays around here.
-
It's Merry Christmas.
-
The White House had a Christmas card.
-
We just take everything away.
-
We failed to recognize the good things that Donald Trump did in his short time four years.
-
All he had and he didn't really have that.
-
He was always fighting with everybody trying to take him out.
-
This is the anti-Christ spirit, folks.
-
It's not political, it's anti-Christ.
-
We have to hold on to Christmas because if we don't hold on to Christmas, christianity is going down and it can't go.
-
I'm telling you Jesus wins and the devil loses.
-
If you go to anything else out of this message, that's the theme, really the underlying theme of this message Jesus wins and the devil loses.
-
We're here to ensure that.
-
Amen, amen, praise God.
-
And so the day when everything changed Now Christmas comes around, the time of the winter solstice we just had it a few days ago.
-
The first day of winter is the winter solstice, which is the longest night.
-
The shortest day, the longest night in the year is the winter solstice and Christmas.
-
That's prophetic, because it was a long, dark night.
-
The world had lived when Jesus appeared.
-
When Jesus was born in that stable in Bethlehem, laid in that manger, it had been 400 years since we'd had a prophet.
-
400 years there was no prophet.
-
There was really no king.
-
They lost their king.
-
Israel was under the heel of the Roman Empire vicious, wicked, violent rule.
-
We don't really understand, but I mean, they're the ones that made up these laws like crucifixion.
-
They invented torture to cause people to be subjected.
-
Talk about slavery.
-
You talk about slavery and you want to burn down all of the things that were in the Confederate South.
-
You ought to go over to Italy and burn down it in Rome.
-
How about that?
-
Knock it down, because that is the center of slavery.
-
They enslaved the whole world.
-
That's what despots do.
-
We ought to get some credit that we ended slavery, that we fought a bloody war 600,000 young men died to get rid of it.
-
Where is that honor?
-
See, look, folks, we've got the stand for the right.
-
Now we can't let these people hijack our history, our Jesus Christianity.
-
We can't let them do that, can't?
-
We have to stand up and at the same time, god loves every one of them.
-
He died for them.
-
Now, you know, paul got caught in that enigma, paul, he said you know enemies for the talking about the Jews.
-
He said they're enemies for the gospel sake, but they're beloved for the father's sake.
-
So he had to.
-
He had to, he had to get that all figured out.
-
The people that gave him the biggest trouble the thorn in his flesh, if you were were Jewish people.
-
They hated these guts, and they did, and they made life miserable for Paul and he did not rail on them, he did not scream at them, you know he.
-
He kept preaching.
-
What the good news, the glad tidings of great joy which is for all men, no matter what color, what creed, what dead religion, what false religion they are of.
-
There is good news, there's great joy, hallelujah.
-
But 400 years, what was the last prophet Malachi?
-
What was his message to Israel 400 years before?
-
You've stolen from God in your curse with a curse.
-
Good news.
-
You can imagine how much darker it was, how much poorer they were after 400 years no king.
-
So see, in the Old Testament the anointing was only on the priest, the prophet and the king.
-
Well, you had no prophet, you had no king, no anointing.
-
Who wasn't anointed?
-
Well, you know, theoretically the priests were anointed, but what were they doing?
-
They were preaching for doctrine.
-
The commandments of men, the traditions of men ruled the Israel in those days.
-
That's all they knew.
-
They didn't know the real God, they didn't know his principles.
-
That's what Jesus had to come and reacquaint them.
-
If you've seen me, you've seen the Father.
-
He preached to them things they had never heard.
-
They didn't know the God he was talking about.
-
God had a bum rap under the priesthood before Jesus showed up.
-
He was mean, he was surly, he was random.
-
You couldn't depend on him, except to smite you.
-
That's what they thought about God.
-
They didn't know God, they didn't know him.
-
Oh, but thank God for Jesus.
-
He came to reveal the Father in his love.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Let's not get caught up with all the bad stuff.
-
But we can't, well, we lose the basic message.
-
Amen.
-
So you know, I can just imagine what the devil said to God.
-
You know, god, this human experiment has failed.
-
You might as well just quit.
-
You've lost and I've won.
-
The devil said that he's full of pride, he's full of himself.
-
He thinks he's so hot, he thinks he's so smart.
-
He said that to God.
-
He said to God you'll never knock me off the throne.
-
He said, ah, you'll never knock me off the throne.
-
Get ready, devil.
-
You've already been knocked off the throne.
-
You're fixing to go a lot lower.
-
Are you with me now?
-
Are you with me now?
-
But then came the day when everything changed.
-
Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
-
Even in such darkness, we can kind of relate to that darkness now, can't we?
-
I know as little as maybe 20, 25 years ago.
-
I don't think we really could catch on to how dark it was.
-
America's so blessed yeah, we have our troubles and so blessed that the darkness just didn't seem to touch us everywhere else.
-
Europe is pretty bad, and they're in a post-Christian age in Europe.
-
I mean, they had the gospel before we did, and yet they're just hardly any Christianity left.
-
Some of those great cathedrals have been turned into gambling casinos.
-
They've been changed into discos or if they still have those, I don't know what they call them and you know, have neon lights in the arches here.
-
These things took 500, 600, 800 years to build these craftsmen.
-
What were they doing?
-
They were glorifying God with their craft, and now they've turned them into places of iniquity.
-
So it's dark in a lot of places and now, you know, the darkness is caught up with us.
-
Now we're celebrating darkness.
-
Our newspapers celebrate darkness.
-
Our television celebrate darkness.
-
Hollywood celebrates darkness.
-
White House celebrates darkness.
-
Biden gives a Christmas message without Jesus' name even being mentioned.
-
How do you have a Christmas message with no Jesus?
-
Well, he managed, oh, but he's Catholic, yeah, and I'm an astronaut, I'm an astronaut, I'm an astronaut, I'm an astronaut.
-
Come on, catholics, get a brain.
-
You got a pope.
-
That's a Marxist.
-
Get out of there.
-
I know some of you are here in Catholic and you're gonna throw rocks at me maybe, but I was Catholic longer problem than you've been, so I can say it.
-
I have a right to say it.
-
I went to Catholic school.
-
I was the nun's favorite.
-
I know in and out about Catholicism.
-
It's a dead religion.
-
You need to get a living Jesus in you.
-
Some Catholics are saved.
-
There's no question about that.
-
I've met plenty of Catholics that really know the Lord, but they need the word preached.
-
They're not getting that.
-
So, even in such darkness, there were people looking for him.
-
We're looking for him to come back, aren't we?
-
So Kings from the East saw his star and they followed that star all the way and found him Simeon and Anna.
-
We didn't read about them, but they were in the temple and they were looking for Jesus, and when he showed up to be dedicated, they were there to greet him.
-
They were looking for him and angels announced his birth to, and a potential birth to, some, like Zacharias, elizabeth's husband, who was struck dumb because he started touching it with his mind trying to figure out how that could possibly happen that his wife could have a baby when she's past age.
-
He'd forgotten his Bible.
-
That's how backslid they were.
-
He forgot about Abraham, and so the angels struck him dumb so he wouldn't undo God's plan and speak against it.
-
That's how powerful our words are.
-
Okay, you're gonna talk wrong, bam.
-
I wonder how many of us will be walking around going mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm.
-
Thank God he didn't strike us dumb, amen.
-
Mary got some inside information.
-
She said how can it be, I know, not a man.
-
She was okay.
-
It wasn't unbelief.
-
She just didn't understand.
-
He said oh, power of the most high shall overshadow.
-
The Holy Ghost shall come upon you and that holy thing which shall be of you.
-
That's how it's gonna be.
-
He couldn't be a natural human.
-
Just through and through he is human, but he was fathered by the Holy Ghost.
-
So he's God and he's man.
-
He's all God and he's all man.
-
He's just as much God as the Father, he's just as much God as the Holy Ghost.
-
But he's us too.
-
He is us and we are him.
-
Amen.
-
Oh, what a magnificent plan.
-
The devil didn't have any eye.
-
Nobody had an idea.
-
Only God can pull this off.
-
Jesus wins and the devil loses.
-
He told Joseph you gotta give Joseph some credit.
-
He was gonna put her away.
-
He didn't want to embarrass her here.
-
She's gonna be a young Jewish virgin that's pregnant outside of wedlock.
-
Ooh, nowadays there's no big deal, no big whoop.
-
Hollywood does it when they're 45 years old.
-
They're out of you know, have babies out of wedlock 50 years old.
-
So proud of it.
-
They're even prouder when they have an abortion.
-
They wear a funny hat and brag about it and testify how important it was to their career.
-
Oh man, I tell you it's dark, but you know what we're here.
-
Amen In this.
-
Shepherds, blue collar workers.
-
You know the angel said, for unto you this day is born a savior.
-
He didn't overlook anybody.
-
He wasn't sent here to be the savior of the rich people.
-
He wasn't here to be the savior of the kings and the political class and all of that, the elites.
-
He came for every single person.
-
Amen.
-
Now they're working the graveyard shift.
-
That means midnight to eight.
-
For those of you that have never worked shift work, I work shift work all the way through college.
-
So when I worked every other semester going through college, every other semester, instead of going to school, I went down to Corpus and worked in a plant, an aluminum plant, and I worked shift work and that was, you know, for a long semester would be four months or so, three and a half to four months of shift work, and so you know you'd be on days eight to four, then you'd roll into nights four to 12.
-
But that graveyard shift, man, I mean you don't feel human, you don't feel like a person, I mean I just I mean about the time you can maybe sleep a little while in the daytime you have to sleep in the daytime and about the time you get used to sleeping in the daytime you've got to go back on days again.
-
It's a rotating shift.
-
I mean, whoever devised that must have been a Roman.
-
They must have.
-
It was torture.
-
The same guy that did the crucifixion.
-
He invented shift work.
-
What was he doing before?
-
These guys didn't have a sleep number bed.
-
They were up all.
-
They didn't just, they were up all the time.
-
They work 23 hours a day.
-
I don't know how they slept honestly, standing up, I guess.
-
But I tell you what they woke up when that heavenly host started singing glory to God in the highest and shalom to all of you down on earth.
-
Yeah, we're giving glory to God in the highest, but we have got something for you down here.
-
We've got shalom for you down here.
-
We still got shalom through Jesus.
-
Yes, yes, yes, health, prosperity and peace, peace on earth.
-
What is that word?
-
Peace?
-
It's shalom.
-
It's not just the absence of conflict, it's not just being able to sleep at night, it's health, prosperity and all that other.
-
Come on, lift your hands right now.
-
Oh, yes, he did.
-
Everything changed the day when everything changed.
-
It was not available.
-
Really, it was available in the Old Testament, but they just didn't.
-
They were blind to what they had.
-
Even after Jesus came and preached to them, they still most of them were blind.
-
The Bible says after his resurrection he appeared to over 500 people at one time and only 120 showed up at the upper room.
-
So that's what 24% Last I heard that's a pretty low percentage of people that saw Jesus face to face after his resurrection and they didn't show up for the party for the Holy Ghost to be given.
-
People are not always gonna hear your message, but yet it's our job to give it to them.
-
So the message of great joy, good tidings of great joy to all people, amen.
-
And this will be a sign unto you.
-
They got a sign.
-
The shepherds did.
-
This will be a sign.
-
This is a billboard.
-
You've seen these electronic billboards got a whole video on there.
-
You know If they'd have had those back then, that's what they would have had.
-
But they didn't have those.
-
The angels gave them a sign.
-
This will be a sign.
-
They're gonna be a baby in a cave lying in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes.
-
Now you know it took some faith to believe that that was momentous.
-
It took some faith to believe.
-
Yeah, there had to be glory associated with that announcement, there had to be that heavenly host.
-
I mean, if they'd have just had a normal guy come up, hey, you just get over there and see that little baby, and they wouldn't have believed it.
-
So what?
-
This is another poor Jewish kid.
-
But he wasn't poor, it was just there because there was no room in the inn, no room in the Ritz Carlton, so he had to stay in the cave.
-
That's all that was available Because he could afford the Ritz.
-
So some of you looking at me like I'm crazy.
-
They weren't poor.
-
Get that out of your thinking.
-
That's religious thinking, religious teaching, which is error filled with error.
-
Besides that, not very many days after that, the wise men brought them their treasures.
-
That was his endowment for his ministry.
-
But besides that, they had plenty of money.
-
They could pay their taxes.
-
Some people can't pay their taxes.
-
And so he said a babe in a cave, laying in a manger, wrapped and swaddling clothes.
-
Now, what do we do with newborns?
-
Well, we wrap them tightly.
-
It's been found that when babies are just new mothers, you know, you got to learn to wrap your baby around real tight, because the baby, when it first comes out of the womb, is discombobulated.
-
It's left the safety and security of the womb.
-
The amniotic fluid has surrounded it.
-
It's safe in there.
-
When it moves around, it doesn't feel like it's out of control.
-
But when it gets out into the atmosphere, away from mommy and laying somewhere, you know what do babies do?
-
Well, their legs go this way, their arms go this way and they start going, you know, start wailing, crying, and they just need to be wrapped up like a little tamale.
-
Wrap them up, wrap them tight and they calm right down.
-
They like that.
-
Now, to me, I wouldn't feel that good to get wrapped up.
-
Some people like to sleep that way.
-
I'm not one of them.
-
I like lots of room.
-
Glad it said amen.
-
Oh, I'm sorry, honey.
-
So he's a human being.
-
See, he's just like we are.
-
He's subject to human temptation and yet, without sin, he was tempted in all points, like as we are.
-
He's gone through everything we've gone through.
-
He's been our pioneer.
-
He's been our scout.
-
He went ahead of us.
-
He showed us how to have victory in this life.
-
Are you with me now?
-
He was the Word, but he spoke the Word while he was here.
-
He was big on quoting scripture.
-
Here he is the Word made flesh, but he quoted the scripture in every circumstance.
-
He gave us the way to have victory.
-
These is wins and the devil loses.
-
Let's say that out loud Jesus wins and the devil loses the day when everything changed.
-
So what can we say to our friends that are lost and undone, the ones that are voting wrong, the ones that have all of their compassion misplaced on people that are just?
-
They were born with a mental disorder and they won't write, says, if you know that this is how they were born?
-
Well, they weren't born normal.
-
They've got something that needs to be fixed because they're never gonna ever get what they think they want.
-
They wanna change their life.
-
They wanna, you know, one way or the other.
-
They wanna change their gender, they wanna change their, and they want you to accept that as normal.
-
Well, it's not normal, it's abnormal.
-
It's a disease, a mental disorder.
-
They used to call it gender dysphoria.
-
And for the, you know, for the medical, you know, the medical just sold out.
-
They sold out.
-
You can't depend on anything.
-
They had to tell you now, but, thank God, we have something we can build our life around right here.
-
See, jesus is available to people that are just hungry for something and they don't know what it is.
-
What they're hungry for is not available except through Jesus.
-
They're misidentifying the gap, the gap, the God shaped vacuum inside of them.
-
They're trying to fill it with some other thing and they're trying to turn the entire world around this silliness that they're talking about.
-
No, we can't allow that.
-
In the name of love.
-
In the name of love, we've gotta preach them.
-
Hey, jesus is the answer for your trouble.
-
He can give you peace.
-
Are you hungry for something to fill this gap?
-
He'll fill it.
-
Oh, glory to God.
-
What great news this is for everybody.
-
Are you hungry?
-
He's the bread of life.
-
He's laying in a manger with a feeding trough.
-
He's still feeding us today.
-
Are you sitting in darkness?
-
He's the light of the world.
-
Confused, don't know any.
-
He's the light.
-
He'll turn the light, switch on for you and let you see.
-
Praise God.
-
Rejected, scorned, that's a well.
-
A lot of these people are rejected and scorned, no question about it.
-
When they started living that kind of lifestyle in public, they got rejected and scorned.
-
Some people, you know they're Neanderthals, they're ugly and mean.
-
They make fun of everything.
-
They have no honor for themselves.
-
They don't have honor for other people.
-
So, yeah, there's people that misdo, evil things and violence.
-
I don't subscribe to that at all.
-
They need this message, like the other people need the message Amen.
-
But if you're rejected and scorned, it's not reparations that you need.
-
You need Jesus, you need his love for you.
-
Glory to God.
-
Life, light and love have come down on the day when everything changed.
-
So briefly, here three things that Jesus wants to do.
-
He still wants to do this.
-
Number one he wants to be born in our hearts.
-
He was born into this world so that he could come into each individual human being and have them born again.
-
You know, he said it, I didn't say it, he said it John 3.16,.
-
You must be born again.
-
If you wanna see God, if you wanna go to heaven, if you wanna be where he is, you must be born again.
-
You have to be born again, born of the spirit.
-
We were all born of the natural means, but now we have to be born again and he wants that, he desires that, but he won't force his way in.
-
We have to say yes to it.
-
When he comes in, everything changes, changed my life, I mean.
-
I was in church.
-
I said this last night.
-
I say it again today I was in church really all my life.
-
I got called in a little Catholic church, our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Galena Park, texas.
-
When I was four years old I got the call to preach.
-
I said I'm not gonna preach.
-
South American missionaries were there to give a report.
-
I didn't understand anything.
-
They were saying I'm four, but I, my little heart burned, my little Catholic heart burned inside of me and I knew that God wanted me to be a minister.
-
Well, as a Catholic, what does that mean?
-
It means be a priest.
-
That was my idea.
-
But his idea was what I'm doing right now.
-
I just couldn't conceive it.
-
I just couldn't understand it.
-
And that mark was on me all my life.
-
All my family recognized it.
-
My brothers, my sisters, my parents recognized that call.
-
The nuns recognized that call, even when I was running away from it and I didn't really want to obey it because it meant, after I saw Gladys laid eyes on her in the sixth grade.
-
I was the seventh grade.
-
I'm not joking, I mean that's really what happened sixth grade.
-
She was sixth grade, I was the seventh grade.
-
I looked at her.
-
I said there's no way I'll ever be a priest, forget it.
-
And I ran from that until 33.
-
Aren't you glad God finally called up with me?
-
I'm sure glad, because when he came into my heart everything changed.
-
Hallelujah, he wants to be born in our hearts.
-
Number two he wants us to grow.
-
He wants to grow in our hearts.
-
In Luke two, verse 40, it says the child grew.
-
This is Jesus now.
-
The child grew and waxed strong in spirit and filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.
-
So he didn't start off with all the equipment instantly there.
-
He was God in Christ child, he was God.
-
But he had to grow, and so do we.
-
We're not too old to grow.
-
We're always growing.
-
We're always closing the gap between what we know and what we do.
-
You can know way up here and do way down here not very pleasing to God.
-
We've got to close the gap between what we know and what we're doing.
-
That's called growing.
-
And he wants us to grow and increase in strength and wisdom and stature.
-
And finally, I read this in the opening, but in Luke 1.49, mary said for he that is mighty hath done to me great things, and holy is his name.
-
You know, the greatest thing he could ever do for you is bring you into the new birth.
-
That's the greatest miracle of life.
-
Nothing compares.
-
But beyond that, once that happens, he doesn't want us to stay there.
-
He told the disciples in John 14, right before he was crucified, he said the works that I do shall you do also, and greater works than these shall you do, because I'm going to the Father, but you're gonna stay here and be my representative.
-
See, they didn't understand that either, really, and most of the church right now doesn't understand that.
-
Most of the church right this morning, on Christmas morning, most of the church and I'm not saying they're not the church, I'm not saying they're not safe, I'm just saying they don't have they have about that much understanding of God's plan for their life.
-
They're not doing anything alike what they should be doing.
-
So that's my job is to make sure that you've got information that'll grow your faith to where you can actually accomplish what God sets you on the earth to do.
-
Greater works than these, jesus said, greater works.
-
I don't think there's anything greater than getting somebody saved.
-
It's great when blind eyes open.
-
It's great when people get healed of cancer.
-
It's great when people are raised from the dead.
-
It's great, those are great things, but let me say, nothing can touch the new birth.
-
When people get saved, that is the greatest miracle we can be in.
-
On Hallelujah, the day when everything changed, jesus wins and the devil loses.
-
Now let's just bow our heads for a moment.
-
And because I don't know where everybody here there might be somebody like me.
-
I was describing where I went to church all the time, and yet I didn't really, I hadn't been born again.
-
I thought I didn't hear that the priests didn't preach, that Monsignor didn't preach, that the Catholic church didn't preach the new birth.
-
They preached the sacraments first Holy Communion, confirmation, and there's certain truths to all of those sacraments, I guess.
-
But I didn't connect the dots.
-
I never really gave my heart to Jesus till I was 33 years old.
-
So simple and yet it escaped me.
-
So simple that I was called, and yet I had the idea of what my call looked like and he had a different idea.
-
I didn't know how to reconcile the call with reality.
-
There's so many things that happen when we stay lost, but when we ask Jesus to come in our hearts and we're truly born again, the light turns on and God starts to deal with us in ways that we can understand.
-
He doesn't want you lost.
-
He doesn't want you wandering around in darkness.
-
He wants to turn on the lights, but he won't come in unless you ask Him.
-
Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
-
Jesus said in Revelation.
-
He's knocking on hearts, might be knocking on your heart this morning.
-
I'm not gonna give an altar call.
-
I'm not gonna have you come up on Christmas Day and go through all of that.
-
I never did go up front and do anything.
-
I did get saved.
-
In fact, I got saved by myself in my living room at home.
-
I'm just as saved as anybody that ever got saved at a Billy Graham crusade when he's saying come, I'll wait.
-
Well, you know that's one way to do it, but it's not the only way to get saved Really.
-
If you'll say this prayer and mean it from your heart, say it out loud where you can hear it, in your neighbor, right behind you, in front of you, on either side of you, you can hear it.
-
You can get saved this morning.
-
Or if you're away from God, sometimes people are saved, they really are saved.
-
Sometimes people are saved, they really are, but they're backslid.
-
They're not serving God the way they should.
-
They don't go to church anymore, they don't hang out with other Christians, you know.
-
They just don't pray, they don't read their Bible those four things when they're all present in the same time no church, no fellowship with other Christians, no prayer, no Bible reading four things.
-
I call that a backslider.
-
I mean you're on your way to denying the faith.
-
If you keep going down that road, there's coming kind of pressure in our society that's gonna separate you from Jesus, and I'd hate to see that happen, because you've got an opportunity today to interrupt that pathway and get on the pathway where Jesus wins and the devil loses.
-
So you can say this prayer too maybe you are saved, but you're not going in the right direction right now.
-
Let's turn it around.
-
It's up to you.
-
Let's lift a hand to heaven, keep your eyes closed.
-
Let's say this together say heavenly father, I believe Jesus is your son.
-
I believe he died for my sins, but God raised him from the dead.
-
Jesus, come into my heart, make me the kind of person you want me to be.
-
I give you my life and I make you my Lord.
-
Father, I turn away from the world, the flesh and the devil.
-
I'll not serve the enemy, I'll serve only God.
-
Through your grace, thank God, I'm saved, not trying to get saved, I am saved right now.
-
Now come on, let's rejoice right there.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
-
That tells you good to say the sinner's prayer, even when you don't technically need to say the sinner's prayer, because, number one, it gets in you and you can lead others in a simple thing you don't always have a lot of time to say a big, long prayer, not about a long prayer.
-
You can make a prayer long or you can make a prayer short, but you do have to make the.
-
You gotta make sure that Jesus is Lord and that they believe God raised him from the dead.
-
Those are the two main issues.
-
And so if you said that prayer for the very first time you're gonna tell somebody, I'd advise you to tell somebody before you get out of here.
-
You know I said the sinner's prayer this morning.
-
I'm saved.
-
It'd be good to tell somebody.
-
If you really meant it, you're gonna wanna tell somebody.
-
I couldn't wait to tell my friends.
-
Some of them looked at me like I was from another planet and some of them were really genuinely happy, say I mean, you know sometimes that separates and so I'd buy.
-
And if you're a backslider, the same thing.
-
If you've been back slidding, you say well, you know, I took a step in the right direction this morning.
-
I've repented, I'm going the right direction now this morning, and let somebody know that.
-
And so, if it's a loved one, that way they can know that you made a big decision and they can help hold you accountable.
-
It's good to have accountability.
-
That's why church is so valuable.
-
Being a what we call a lone ranger Christian I know that's going back to, you know, back in the 50s.
-
And the lone ranger in Tonto.
-
You know one of my favorite Western series on television, the lone ranger.
-
See, it doesn't work.
-
We need to be in church, we need to have other believers around us and that way we have fellowship.
-
Amen, praise God.
-
Did you get anything out of this this morning?
-
Merry Christmas to everybody.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God, amen.
