-
Let's wave our Bibles around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad.
-
Let's say this together say heavenly Father, I'm so glad I'm starting out 2023.
-
The earliest days of this year, just two weeks in, I'm starting this year outright, in the presence of my Holy Spirit, with a word of God.
-
I'm hungry for the Word this morning.
-
My spirit needs to be instructed, my mind needs to be renewed and my life will be transformed in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
-
You can be seated turning your Bibles to our scriptures that we're using as foundation scriptures.
-
That's in Romans, chapter one, and Romans, chapter eight, and we are preaching a series of prophetic series of messages that God spoke to me about 2023, the year of God's power.
-
You know it's always the year of God's power, it's the day of God's power, it's always that way.
-
But you know, god just underlines and it's what he did for me, underlined the direction this church has taken in the last number of years, things that God has spoken to me at other times and just confirm for me that we're on the right track.
-
So I wanna give these things to you.
-
Romans, chapter one, verse 16, for I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
-
You know it's time for the church to quit being ashamed of the good news.
-
My goodness, you know, when you start speaking the good news, some people are gonna call you a hater, they're gonna call you all kind of names.
-
Listen, we're not ashamed.
-
I don't apologize for the gospel, I don't apologize for Jesus, I don't apologize for the Word of God.
-
You know, if I'm rubbing the wrong way, let the cat turn around.
-
I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power, the dunamis, the explosive, supernatural power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believe it, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek or to the Gentile.
-
And we've discovered that salvation is the Greek word social rea.
-
It's not just going to heaven, that's the most important thing, but it's not the only thing that Jesus died for.
-
The Greek word, when you look it up in your concordance, it means deliverance, preservation, healing and soundness.
-
I mean, he did the whole job.
-
He didn't do some of the job.
-
Everything the human condition demands to have.
-
What abundant life.
-
That's what he came to give.
-
He came to give us life more abundant, super abundant in quantity, superior in quality.
-
And so then, in Romans, chapter eight, verse 11, the other foundational scripture.
-
But if the spirit of him, the raised up Jesus from the dead dwelling you, and he does.
-
He's not saying if, like he's wondering about it, no, he's making a point.
-
See it, he really the better word would be sense.
-
The spirit of him that raised up Christ from the dead dwells in you.
-
He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken or make alive your mortal bodies.
-
Hallelujah, by his spirit that dwelleth in you.
-
So, 2023, the year of God's power, and don't have time to go over all the previous couple of weeks, but just to remind you, in week one I went to Galveston to pray specifically about what direction God had for us, if he had something he wanted to say about 2023.
-
And generally, he gives me something that I've never seen before.
-
I tell you, I'm just amazed.
-
I'm always kind of sitting on the edge of my seat see what God's gonna show me when I go to Galveston.
-
He often just shows me things I've never seen.
-
And this time I rode by the port of Galveston there and there were some sidetracks right next to the street, between the street and the port.
-
And I've seen railroad cars there before and at this time there were about 100 diesel locomotives just to sit in there.
-
And I mean, as soon as I saw those locomotives I knew that was a prophetic something he's showing me.
-
I'd never seen that before.
-
This is crazy.
-
What in the world are all these locomotives doing?
-
Sitting here idle?
-
Each one of them is capable of pulling a train and they're not pulling a train.
-
They're not doing anything and they all look serviceable.
-
There was a few that looked, you know, had graffiti on them and they looked faded, they looked old and they looked like they were headed to the scrap heap.
-
I did some research and found out that's exactly.
-
You know.
-
The BNSF railroad had them there and said three years ago, said well, we just got a few there, we're trying to decide whether to sell them or scrap them.
-
Well, that was three years ago and they've added to it.
-
I saw a picture three years ago.
-
There's just maybe a dozen there, now there's a hundred.
-
And God spoke to me, said this represents the churches that allowed government to classify them as non-essential and every one of them that allowed that they're on the sidetrack and they're headed for the scrap heap.
-
That's what he told me.
-
If you're in one of those churches that just bowed down to some county official or some local yokel and just decided, you know, to shut your doors and go mask up in your house and be it on live.
-
Some of them never did open back up, they just live stream all the time.
-
You're not a church, you're not a pastor, you're a nothing burger.
-
And if you're under that, get out of that.
-
Now there's plenty of people that did close for a little while, but they opened as soon as they possibly could.
-
There's different conditions across the country, so I'm not trying to paint with a broad brush, just tell you what God told me.
-
We're not in that category.
-
I'm telling you right now, there's no wasting of power.
-
You know, brother Robert, so I told you about that all the week one.
-
If you weren't here, get the media for week one and week two last week, because it can't re-preach at all.
-
It's all very valuable for you to know and get on the same page what we're talking about, because God wants you to believe something right now, and when you believe, believe is not just agree with your brain tissue, it means you're gonna act like it, you're gonna put some action in.
-
See, I'm talking about New Year's resolutions.
-
All the New Year's resolutions you can perform.
-
They're nothing equal to these right here.
-
These right here are the most important, not that the other can't be done.
-
Oh, you know, you wanna lose weight or you wanna go to the gym and all that.
-
I'm not saying anything about that, that's fine, but this is more important.
-
So I mean, I'm not gonna be on the sidetrack and I'm not becoming sidetracked, we're gonna stay on the main line.
-
Praise God.
-
God's plan is an unprecedented display of His mighty power in the earth.
-
And then so then the of course, jesus wins and devil loses.
-
Come on, let's say that out loud.
-
See, let's keep that in mind every time you're tempted to think that we're on the losing side.
-
We're not on the losing side.
-
I don't care what it looks like, I don't care what it feels like, I don't care.
-
There's a lot of disappointed Christians right now because the elections didn't go the way that we had hoped.
-
It didn't go the way we prayed.
-
Politicians are doing the same thing they normally do.
-
It's just, you know, wet their finger and throw it a whichever way.
-
The wind is blowing and some good people, well-meaning people, are doing the same thing.
-
But you know, it's beginning to change and we're gonna make our voice heard.
-
That's our job is to make our voice heard.
-
So in week two, the foundation for us to be positioned for God's power to flow.
-
And it's gonna flow through the church and everybody say I'm the church.
-
Come on, lift your hands and remind yourself I'm the church.
-
See, we get the church mixed up with a building or an assembly.
-
Well, you know, you're the church, we're members, in particular, of the body of Christ and so if his power is gonna flow, it's gonna flow through you and there are no big eyes that it'll use.
-
There's no favorites, there's no important people.
-
We've allowed ourselves to look around for other people to pray for us and do things for us.
-
Listen, you've got the same power that raised Christ from the dead.
-
Well, when I got a hold of this 40 some odd years ago, it changed my life, it changed my impetus, it changed my attitude going through life.
-
I quit looking for other people to do the job that I can do.
-
But I can't do it without him and prayer is the central way.
-
We must have a prayer life.
-
It's not optional anymore.
-
You know there's been times when the church could just kind of kick it, think come to church, you know, when we feel like it and pray a little bit.
-
When it's been.
-
You know we have emergency prayer and everything is falling apart and then we pray and you know God, you know really, we live more by mercy than we did by faith.
-
Those days are gone, folks.
-
We're gonna the just shall live by their faith.
-
It's gonna be a prayer life or you're gonna perish.
-
You're not gonna make the, you're gonna get on the sidetrack.
-
It's what's gonna happen to you.
-
I've seen it.
-
I've seen preachers, I've seen believers that were on fire at one time in their life being very effective and the next thing, you know, they're doing nothing, sitting at home watching nothing on TV.
-
Listen, it's happening.
-
Everybody say it's not happening to me.
-
So we gotta have a prayer life.
-
You know James 16, the effectual, fervent, continued prayer of the righteous man or woman, a valeth, much brings much power to bear, dynamic in its working.
-
I like the amplified version of that.
-
If you want the power to flow, you're gonna have to have a prayer life so that God can direct your steps.
-
You know we can make plans all day long.
-
We always.
-
You know, if we're working, we have to make plans to get there.
-
You know we have to get back and but you know, in between, if we have a prayer life.
-
God can alert us, god can guide us, god can show us certain things that we need to do.
-
He can regulate everything.
-
And that's what it's gonna take.
-
We're gonna have to have to be people of strategy.
-
You get that in prayer.
-
Lest the Lord builds a house, psalm 127.
-
And lest the Lord builds a house, they labor in vain.
-
That build it.
-
You can.
-
A lot of people are building their own kingdom.
-
They're building churches, they're building ministries, they're building all kind of do good kind of things and it might be good but it ain't God and it's gonna profit zero.
-
It profits zero.
-
It's gonna be a lot of blood, sweat and tears expended to build it and it won't be God and it won't be God's plan.
-
See, if we pursue something that's our plan, it can't succeed.
-
And I gave some examples of my own life and I've lived it.
-
I know it's true.
-
This church was born in prayer.
-
This church is sustained through prayer.
-
We've got to have guidance from on high and we've got to have.
-
We got to hang out with the one that has the power.
-
He's the one that gave the power, amen.
-
And so everybody say position in prayer.
-
And then today I want to talk about God's healing power.
-
So let's look at Mark, chapter 16 first.
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
These are the things that I want to, you know, underline as being a year of God's unprecedented power that he wants to put on display, and God's healing power is one of those powers.
-
Mark, chapter 16, Jesus is about to be taken off the earth.
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
I want to read verse 14.
-
Afterward he appeared under the 11, as they said.
-
Why wasn't there 12?
-
Well, you already know Jesus committed suicide.
-
I mean, even Jesus didn't have 100%, so we ought to not get all hung up on results.
-
Sometimes we're not responsible for results, folks.
-
Well, you know, I've got blah, blah, blah and they didn't get.
-
I've been praying, they didn't get.
-
They were not responsible for the results.
-
We're responsible for speaking and proclaiming good news and then get people in a position to accept or reject.
-
He appeared under the 11 as they sat at meat and up braided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart.
-
There's a little different picture than what we're he gets us.
-
You know that I'm still irritated by that.
-
The implication is, you can just live any old way and God just winks at it.
-
And that's not true.
-
He didn't wink at them, he rebuked them, he up braided them.
-
He chewed them out.
-
Folks, they've been chewed out real good.
-
Woo, my pastor chewed me out one time.
-
I was like a puppy dog with my tail between my legs and I didn't even deserve it.
-
I mean, he'd got it all wrong and I didn't deserve what he gave me.
-
But he gave it to me.
-
Oh man, that hurt, but I just kept my peace and, you know, tried to laugh a little bit.
-
Oh, john, I'm so sorry.
-
He found out what the truth was.
-
After the fact, I'll tell you God would vindicate you if you just let him have a chance.
-
He appeared under the leaven and he sat at me and braided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart because they believed, not them which had seen him after he was risen.
-
And he said unto them I'm through with you.
-
Just forget about it.
-
I'm putting you on the scrap heap right now.
-
Yeah, huh.
-
No, he said to them, this group that he abrated, go ye unto all the world, except for the politicians.
-
Don't bother with them.
-
I'm done with the politicians.
-
To get out of politics.
-
Don't you dare go into politics.
-
Don't go to work for Disney.
-
No, he said going to all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
-
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.
-
He that believeth not shall be damned.
-
Kind of cutting dry, isn't it?
-
I mean, not everybody's going to heaven.
-
You read these funeral notices of these Hollywood stars.
-
You'll see them again.
-
No, well, really, you know that they were talking about.
-
Let's see one of Priscilla.
-
Not Priscilla, but Lisa Marie Presley died 54 years old and one of her ex-husbands said oh, I know we'll see each other again.
-
I thought, yeah, that question is where you're going to see her.
-
I don't know that.
-
She said I have no idea and I know he's not.
-
He's one of these weirdos like Tom Cruise.
-
What is the name of that cult?
-
Scientology is a cult.
-
You're not saved as your Scientologists.
-
They don't even believe in heaven and hell.
-
They believe in afterlife.
-
Are you with me now?
-
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.
-
He that believeth not shall be damned.
-
So our job is to get people to that point of decision, not to have the results.
-
And these signs shall follow them.
-
That are apostles in the first century AD and after that.
-
It's going to pass away and there will be no more miracles.
-
These signs shall follow who Believers?
-
So this is the believers, yeah, but.
-
But.
-
But, pastor, he's talking to the apostles.
-
He's talking to the apostles who are going to talk to lots of other people.
-
Everybody say the believers ministry.
-
That's what Jesus is talking about here.
-
These signs shall follow.
-
Them that believe, not, them that are pastors, them that are famous, them that are, you know, got a television program.
-
They, them that believe.
-
What signs?
-
Well, he goes through these signs.
-
First one on the list and my name, say, or in my place, because why he's leaving.
-
But he's going to see, keep us here as ambassadors.
-
He's keeping us here as his representatives.
-
Really, we're in his body, we're.
-
He's the head and we're the body.
-
They didn't know all that yet.
-
They hadn't.
-
They hadn't, they hadn't gotten revelation of what he had done.
-
That came later.
-
Paul, mainly, was the one that that came up with the head and the body.
-
But we're just as much available as a believer as anybody else to enter into.
-
These meant this ministry of preaching the gospel.
-
What is preaching Meaning?
-
Just means declaring that's all.
-
It doesn't mean you're going to have a pulpit.
-
It doesn't mean you're going to have a church.
-
It just means that God wants to use you as his vessel.
-
I like what Catherine Cooman said one time God's not looking for gold vessels, he's not looking for silver vessels, he's just looking for yielded vessels.
-
Are you available?
-
That's the point.
-
Are you available to use your mouth and say hey, you know, let me tell you what Jesus did for me.
-
Get in the witness chair.
-
You know people can argue doctrine all day long, but they can't argue against your testimony.
-
You lived it and it's yours.
-
You own it.
-
You can talk about it.
-
They can do a thing about it.
-
Don't get intimidated about doctrine and all that.
-
Just tell your story.
-
These signs should follow them.
-
Believe in my name, and what name?
-
The name of Jesus.
-
They'll cast out demons.
-
And then I'm going to skip down to the last one.
-
And they, in my name, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
-
Notice.
-
It said recover Didn't say instantly healed.
-
It said recover.
-
The literal Greek is hands.
-
They shall lay, who's they?
-
Believers.
-
Hands.
-
Believer shall lay shall lay.
-
Healed they, who, they?
-
The sick?
-
Healed they shall be.
-
He said lay hands on the sick.
-
That's a sick.
-
Does anybody know anybody is sick?
-
I mean, the world is full of sick people.
-
It didn't say the Christian sick.
-
It didn't say the sick that have it all together, except for the fact they're sick.
-
I mean, the sick is a big, big.
-
I mean it's just anybody and everybody.
-
It's a Hindu, it's a Muslim, it's an atheist, it's whoever.
-
I will say it's always better to get somebody to at least cooperate with you before you lay hands on them.
-
They might, you know, issue a complaint of assault or something you know who knows.
-
All right, so these signs shall follow.
-
Now let's keep reading here, verse 19.
-
So then, after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God, and they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word, with signs following.
-
Now, you know, you're going to have to say some things to people.
-
You can't just run up on them and sneak up on them, and just lay your hands suddenly on somebody and all of a sudden, presto, change, oh, they're going to get healed.
-
I mean, you've got to kind of prepare them a little bit.
-
You've got to preach a little bit.
-
You've got to teach a little bit.
-
You've got to get to know them a little bit.
-
You've got to have, you know, be able to read somebody's body language, train yourself to kind of watch and listen to people before you just go off into never, never land with them.
-
Are you with me now, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following Amen.
-
You know Jesus had a prayer life.
-
I mean, you know he went out, he took himself.
-
You know, in Luke chapter five he prayed and separated himself and went away and prayed.
-
I mean, if Jesus had to pray, we're going to have to pray, right, but once we prayed, then there's another action that brings us to the place of sensitivity, to knowing when we have, or in the presence of someone that we can possibly minister to.
-
We know we need to be more sensitive.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Let's be sensitive to the people that we're around.
-
Maybe people that we've been talking to are not sensitive but and they don't want to hear it and they don't want to talk about it and we kind of ride them off.
-
We don't ride them off too fast because they might get to a place where you can minister to them.
-
You know God desires to confirm His Word, amen.
-
You know Raymond T Richie said that healing is God's dinner bell.
-
Let's look at an example here.
-
Mark's Acts, chapter three.
-
This is not very long after Jesus went to heaven, you know.
-
Then there was a few days, and you know the penny cost was 50 days after Passover, essentially 50 days after His death.
-
And and then after that they were filled with the Holy Ghost and they went about and there's some records of them doing great miracles and here's one of them Acts, chapter three, and this is when Peter and John were going up to pray our prayer to the temple.
-
And on the way they see the lame man.
-
Later we find out that he's over 40 years old, lame from his mother's womb.
-
This man had never walked, never walked, never walked, never walked.
-
That's kind of a hopeless thing.
-
Always down on the ground, always have to have somebody carry you Never walked.
-
And so I saw a guy like that in India.
-
Second, to the last night of the crusade in Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, where those things was preaching, I got to sing and give some of my testimony to 90,000 people.
-
It was quite a thrill.
-
But when he was preaching, there's this Hindu man that I've been seeing every night.
-
He was sitting right up close to the front.
-
He had this he was a Sikh, s-i-k-h.
-
He had a turban on and you know, our, our symbol is the cross.
-
They're symbol is the cross swords.
-
You know kind of violent people you don't mess with the Sikhs, especially in India.
-
They're the violent ones.
-
And he was there to hear the gospel.
-
He was there every night and brother Osteen had.
-
You know, if you want healing you just stand up.
-
And I and you know, and this guy couldn't stand without a stick and he and I saw him walk and he would just kind of swivel around this stick.
-
He was laying in one leg and couldn't put any weight on it and he used this stick.
-
Like it was real unusual to see him walk and he just kind of, you know, dweiggled and somehow would make a little progress.
-
I saw him throw the stick down and walk right up on the platform, give his testimony.
-
Oh, glory to God.
-
The gospel is the power of God.
-
Well Acts, chapter three.
-
They go and they're on their way and they and they're going to prayer but they're, you know, obviously full of the Holy ghost and they see this man that they've seen before.
-
He's a beggar.
-
He's a certified beggar by the temple executives.
-
I mean, you had to be certified in order to have credit for your alms giving.
-
You couldn't just give alms to your relatives.
-
You had to give alms to people that were investigated and found to be in need, and he was one.
-
Everybody knew who he was, everybody.
-
Later on it came out, everybody knew him.
-
He'd been laying there.
-
Oh, no doubt Jesus went right by him and didn't do anything for him.
-
He didn't ask for anything and this is the day he didn't ask for anything except money.
-
He was held his hand out.
-
He's looking for money and Peter says silver and gold have I?
-
None, we're six, but such as I have give either.
-
You know we got something.
-
They knew they had something.
-
We've got something to give.
-
It's not just Peter and John.
-
We've got something to give people.
-
You might just need to send your brain an email and let them know a text message hey, I got something to give now.
-
We're gonna give it away today.
-
You know, the Holy Ghost can kind of give you a heads up.
-
He will if you'll just spend some time in prayer.
-
That's what they did.
-
They had spent some time to prayer and they're gonna go pray some more.
-
And he looks on him and he just you know I'm not here to help you with all them silver and gold.
-
Have our numbers, such as I have get by thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
-
And he didn't move fast enough.
-
So Peter just reached down and picked him by the hand and jerked him to his feet and immediately he received strength in his feet and ankle bones.
-
Evidently that was the source of the lameness.
-
I don't know if he had club feet in both feet, I don't know if he had malformed ankles, birth defects, we don't know what the issue was.
-
But the Bible says he received stability, he was able.
-
I mean, his feet and ankle bones previously could not support his weight and suddenly they could and he went walking and leaping.
-
He had leaped up and walked and was holding on to John.
-
And you know, you just, you ever see these.
-
Well, the Astros, when they won the World Series, they were all going like this, you know, and some of them were going like this, you know, bouncing around the field, you know, rejoicing that they'd won the World Series.
-
Well, he did more than win the World Series.
-
I mean, poverty has been broken over his life.
-
He never has to depend on anybody else Again.
-
He's gonna be able to work, he's gonna be able to have a normal life.
-
He's 40 years, over 40 years old.
-
So you know, raymond T Richie said you know, healing is God's dinner bell.
-
Great pastor of Evangelistic Temple here in Houston.
-
A lot of people said that his healing ministry, brother Osteen's ministry, was a lot like Raymond T Richie Powerful assembly of God.
-
Pastor, healing is God's dinner bell.
-
It always attracts a crowd.
-
It attracted a crowd where Peter turned around and started preaching to this crowd of Jews.
-
They were all amazed, they were in wonder.
-
They knew this man and all of a sudden, after all these years, he's leaping around, jumping around, walking and leaping and praising God, going into the temple, get the picture.
-
And so Peter turns and you know, later on we find there's 5,000 men that got saved, that's 20,000 people If each one's got a wife and a couple of kids.
-
And he said Peter saw it.
-
Verse 12, he answered under the people, you, men of Israel, why marvel you at this and why look so earnestly on us as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
-
So it was God's power that made him walk.
-
Duneimus, duneimus, power, that's what we have, such as I have give IV.
-
He knew he had the power.
-
We've got the power.
-
Jesus said in Acts 1-8, you shall receive power, duneimus.
-
After that, the Holy Ghost comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses.
-
I mean, when we get baptized in the Holy Ghost, the power comes upon us.
-
We have something to give people.
-
We don't have to take them to church to get them healed.
-
We don't have to take them to church to get them saved.
-
We can get something done right on the spot, right at that moment.
-
If you wait around and invite them and all of that, all kinds of things can happen and they might not ever show up.
-
And you've missed the intersection of when people can get saved.
-
Listen, this is the year of God's power.
-
I believe the church is gonna be the church out there in the marketplace.
-
Yes, when you arrive on the scene, the power's there.
-
But the power by itself is not enough.
-
It has to be directed, it has to be talked about, it has to be not manipulated, but it has to.
-
You know, we have to release it in words and our hands, somehow our hands, are involved.
-
That's what Jesus said.
-
These signs shall follow them that believe.
-
Yes, by the law of contact and transmission.
-
What you have flows sort of like electricity.
-
It's not electricity, it's greater than electricity and it's not something you necessarily feel.
-
More that you perceive.
-
And after you've done it a long time you might start feeling some things.
-
But I'm not moved by whether I feel anything or not.
-
I'm just moved by what the word says.
-
I just act on it.
-
That's all I do.
-
I can perceive when people don't receive.
-
I mean it's just, you know, it's like laying hands on a doorknob.
-
You know it's just not going out of you, it just doesn't do anything.
-
Are you with me now?
-
Y'all are looking at me funny.
-
Oh, pastor, I'm not a minister.
-
Yes, you are.
-
You've got a believer's ministry.
-
Every one of us need to start stepping into our ministry.
-
Well, yeah, but God doesn't use me in healing.
-
That's because you're not available.
-
Are you available or not?
-
Are you yielded or not?
-
I want to blast all this stuff.
-
There's a legitimate healing ministry, but you don't have to have a healing ministry.
-
If you're a believer, you've got the believer's ministry.
-
You're the jack of all trades, so to speak.
-
God can use you in any way he wants to.
-
Or is he your Lord or not?
-
Are you available for him to tell you to do this, that and the other?
-
Amen?
-
Well, come on, lift your hands right now.
-
Glory to God, you know.
-
Later on, in chapter four, we see that the jealous ones, the Pharisees, the wooden seas, the couldn't seas, the sunken seas and everybody else, they did not.
-
They were not impressed, they didn't like it.
-
What are we gonna do?
-
We go around with that man's name, trying to hang his death on us.
-
But that a notable miracle has been done.
-
It cannot be denied.
-
See what is a notable miracle?
-
Widely known and undeniable.
-
Everybody knew the man and they couldn't say one word.
-
It ended any controversy.
-
This is what I believe notable miracles are gonna be.
-
We've had some notable miracles, but we need more.
-
We need a lot more.
-
Everybody say notable miracles.
-
We need more.
-
He desires to confirm his word with signs.
-
That's why we've gotta say something.
-
We've gotta talk, we've gotta get in the witness chair and tell.
-
Instead of trying to preach doctrine and trying to all of that, let's just tell our story.
-
Every one of us has got a test on Now.
-
Don't go on and on and on to learn.
-
Get God to help you.
-
Just share little bits and pieces of it.
-
It doesn't take long Again.
-
Start looking at people and when they start looking at their watch and they're standing on one foot and another.
-
It's time to shut up.
-
And maybe it'd be a good idea to have some breath mints, especially if you take garlic.
-
I used to eat them by the I mean I'd have three or four tubes in my body to eat all of them.
-
During the service he said it's the gospel.
-
We have good news.
-
We can tell people.
-
You know what I want to pray for your healing.
-
You know Jesus already healed you.
-
All I've got to do is release it.
-
Can you just accept it?
-
Just believe that when I lay hands on you, that his power is going to come into you to affect the healing and the cure.
-
Just like that, just that quick.
-
Are they gonna argue?
-
When they argue with old God, just see if you're open.
-
If you're not open, that's just no problem.
-
No problem.
-
But most people when they're sick, they'll take anything they can get.
-
Oh, glory to God, there's a ripe harvest out there and some of them are gonna surprise us.
-
Some of them, their hair color is weird.
-
Maybe they got all kinds of holes in their face, maybe they've got a dragon up their neck and it goes and curls around their eye Tattoo.
-
They're tatted up.
-
Listen, we're gonna have to get over ourselves.
-
We're gonna have to get over and be available for Jesus.
-
There's people that are out there that are ripe.
-
Are you with me now?
-
Praise God.
-
He said hands, they shall lay.
-
Healed, they shall be.
-
That's what Jesus said.
-
Do you think he lied?
-
Brother Hagin was laying hands on somebody and he had arthritis to the spine.
-
He was stiff as a board, couldn't bend over, and people were getting healed with this man.
-
He came up and Brother Hagin laid hands on him and it just didn't seem like anything happened.
-
He said now bend over and see if you can touch your toes.
-
And he couldn't.
-
Well, I'm pray for you again, bend over, see if you can touch your toes Nothing.
-
And so he went on down the line.
-
I prayed for him twice.
-
I said you know, I'm gonna get on down the line here.
-
I don't know what the problem is.
-
And Jesus, when he thought he was finished, he said I want you to call that man up there and lay your hands on him again.
-
He said well, lord, I did, but he didn't get it.
-
He said well, I said that if you lay hands on the sick, that he would recover.
-
I say he's healed.
-
Yeah, I know, lord, you said that.
-
But I mean he didn't get it.
-
I said, I said, I said three times See, brother Hagin just kept arguing with Jesus.
-
Jesus appeared to him.
-
I don't think I'd argue with Jesus if he appeared to me.
-
I'm so thankful that he's humble enough to tell the stories on himself.
-
That's what I.
-
That's the kind of people I was around.
-
I was around people like Brother Hagin and Brother Osteen who weren't afraid of just saying things that happened to them.
-
Don't look so innocent.
-
I know you've argued with Jesus before.
-
You might not have seen him, but you argued with him.
-
Amen.
-
Anytime you differ with this word, you're arguing with the word.
-
You're not letting your heart agree with it, are you?
-
I said lay your hands on him and he would be healed.
-
And then he saw it all of a sudden, after a third time, he said you know?
-
I said if if is the language of doubt, if you can see it, if you can bend over and touch your toes.
-
And that was just enough doubt to keep the man from being able to do it.
-
So he did the whole thing again, laid his hands.
-
He said bend over and touch your toes.
-
A man bend over his, touches toes completely healed right then, on the spot.
-
Now, you know, sometimes miracles are like that, but most of the time miracles are gradual.
-
They're not instant, they're not expect.
-
I don't know how many people that I've.
-
You know, when I say pray for, I don't pray for the sick.
-
I lay hands on them.
-
I don't ask God to heal them, I lay hands on them in Jesus' name.
-
I said I lay hands on them in Jesus' name.
-
We're not praying and asking God to heal them.
-
He's already done it.
-
What are we doing?
-
We're giving them something.
-
We're releasing God's power for them to receive.
-
Are you with me now?
-
Jesus said hands, they shall lay heal, they shall be.
-
It doesn't leave any doubt.
-
That way we can say well, you're healed in Jesus' name.
-
Now, you don't be worried about the symptoms.
-
I like to tell people after I've laid hands on them.
-
Give them a little instruction Now, from now on, when you feel these symptoms come on you, if they don't instantly leave, then you just say well, I'm not going to heal them.
-
See, then you just say well, I know God's healing power was administered to me and it's alive in me to affect the healing and the cure.
-
That's a lot of words for some people.
-
But you know, if they're desperate they're going to think about that.
-
That's a great confession for them to have.
-
Most people don't go to Word of Faith churches.
-
Most people don't know anything about that.
-
They can have what they say.
-
So if you give them something to say, they'll say it because they don't know any better, and God will honor it.
-
Hallelujah, god's healing power has been released to affect a healing and a cure.
-
Glory to God.
-
So let's stir ourselves up, starting right now to be sensitive to people's needs that are around us.
-
Let's not just be go through our life with our own issues that we're consumed with and we have no notice of those that are around us, that are perishing.
-
I mean, people around us are perishing.
-
People around us are desperate and they might not say anything to you.
-
That's what makes it so wonderful, because sometimes you can be attracted to somebody without even knowing why and it just touches them.
-
It breaks the barriers and the Holy Ghost can minister to them.
-
Just tell them Jesus is the healer.
-
Now I'm gonna lay hands on you according to His Word and I just receive His healing power right now.
-
That's so quick, that's so easy, it's not hard.
-
Let's not be ashamed of the good news that we have Now.
-
Many times I don't know if it's most times, but many times people get healed before they get saved.
-
Thank God for brother Ovestain Doty.
-
They taught me better than what a lot of people will say.
-
I went to a full gospel business meeting.
-
I'm a lifetime member, in case you're interested.
-
I hadn't been to a meeting in years but when I first started out I was a member of the full gospel business and fellowship international and the way that that operates is that businessmen to get together and they have a dinner and they have a main speaker who gets up and gives you Christian testimony and then ministers to people at the end.
-
And it was a good experience and part of my discipleship came through that organization going to different meetings and going to advances.
-
We didn't believe in retreating, so we didn't have retreats, we had advances and just hanging around people and they were all different.
-
Some of them were Methodists, some of them were Baptists.
-
I mean, the chapter president when I first started going was Baptist.
-
I don't think he ever did really go to a full gospel church.
-
As far as I know, that's when I met JD and Loretta Dyer.
-
Loretta would come.
-
He, that chapter president would ask Loretta to sing.
-
The first time I ever met Loretta and heard her sing was at one of those full gospel meetings all those years ago.
-
And so this banker was giving his testimony and he was talking about how he has customers come in and just chatting with them and he finds out if they need healing.
-
He said, no, I never pray for anybody that needs healing until I get them saved.
-
I make them say the sinner's prayer.
-
Well, when he said that, I knew that was poppycock, he didn't know any better, and so he had this religious idea that he had to clean the fish before he could pray for the fish.
-
Well, jesus didn't do that, and I'm kind of a baby Christian.
-
I mean, I think I'd been saved a year, but I knew better than that why?
-
Because I went to a church that taught us better than that.
-
No, you don't have to be saved to get healed.
-
You can get healed and then get saved.
-
A healing is God, and I'd never heard healing as God's dinner bell, but that's the proof of it.
-
I mean, when God starts healing people, people come and they do get saved.
-
Years ago I was driving through San Antonio or a way back home from a trip to see my brother.
-
Then those years they lived in a little town called Vanderpool, just north of Utopia, north of Sabinelle and Sabinelle River, and we would see each other from time to time, didn't have?
-
We were very close.
-
When he lived here he was taught me the building business.
-
We're really my best friend.
-
We were eight years.
-
He's eight years older than I am, but we spent a lot of time together in a certain period of time and then, right after he left to move out there, it wasn't very long that I got saved.
-
I mean, god just knocked a crutch.
-
I was always dependent on my brother and leaning on him for everything and when God knocked that out I wound up getting saved not very long after that.
-
So then I went out there and his whole family got saved and anyway we were headed back.
-
My mother was with me and Gladys, of course, was with me.
-
I don't remember where the kids were.
-
I don't remember now, I don't remember why, whether we left them there to stay there or whether they were somewhere else, but anyway, just the three of us were traveling.
-
It was Monday morning, we had spent the weekend.
-
I got there Friday night, left Monday morning, go back to Houston and I thought, well, I'm gonna pray in tongues all the way home.
-
Well, that lasted about 20 miles.
-
I think I stopped about between before I ever got to Sabinelle.
-
Actually, I think I wasn't even out of Utopia very far until I quit praying in tongues and just kind of settled into a funk Because I just thinking about my problems, thinking about getting back to my business, and I had some challenges and things, and you just kinda.
-
And so we get to San Antonio and I had to pull over and get fuel.
-
It was a diesel van.
-
So we stopped at the Texaco station, i-10, 36th Street, and I started pumping the diesel into the van and the girls went inside and to go to the ladies room and mother came out first.
-
She says, son, there's a man in there that's got a terrible migraine.
-
He's got it right now.
-
He's really hurting.
-
You need to go in there and pray for him.
-
I said yeah, and I thought why didn't?
-
And I talked to myself why didn't you pray for him?
-
You saw him, you can.
-
Can you feel the anointing dripping off of him?
-
You just feel how, how open I am, what a willing vessel.
-
And I just keep pumping, pumping the fuel.
-
All right, all right, all right.
-
And then Gladys comes out.
-
John, john, john.
-
I always know that when it's three times, there's trouble I'm going to get involved with pretty quick.
-
John, john, john.
-
There's a man in there.
-
Yeah, mother told me he's got a migraine.
-
John, he's really hurting right now.
-
You need to go in there and lay hands on him now.
-
Why didn't you?
-
No, I didn't say that.
-
I knew better than say that.
-
She had her purse in her hand.
-
She probably would have hit me.
-
It's a big old purse man, 50 pounds, 50 pounds.
-
Can you feel the anointing dripping off of me?
-
Yet I mean, it's just whoo.
-
So they had a window outside the station, so I went to the window.
-
I didn't go inside.
-
I went to the window and the guy that waited on me, you know.
-
I gave him my card and I looked at him real close and as I looked at him I could see that he had been in a knife fight at some point in his life and there was a scar.
-
I went right across his eyelid, across his nose, all the way down to this ear and just somebody went like that and I'm looking real close to see how fresh that wound is.
-
It's an old one, it's a scar.
-
Scar.
-
It's not hadn't happened last week.
-
And I'm looking and looking, trying to, and then a guy comes up behind me and he's ready to pay for his gas and he runs the card and I signed and I just I couldn't say anything to him.
-
I didn't.
-
He didn't look sick to me.
-
Did you pray for him?
-
Did you pray for him?
-
I said he was fine, I didn't see anything wrong with him.
-
Oh, no, he was.
-
He added migraine.
-
I said well, all I could see was a scar across his face.
-
I couldn't see anything wrong with him.
-
As far as you know how he felt and I was irritated.
-
Can you feel the anointing dripping off of me yet?
-
So I get you know.
-
I drove, drive down the road and the further I got from San Antonio, the worse.
-
I started feeling grieved in my spirit and I just I'd grieve the whole together and I knew it.
-
I knew that I had not, I'd missed something, and so I started asking more questions.
-
I found out that he was inside the station sitting at a card table on one end.
-
If I didn't go in, I wouldn't see him, because I'm just on the outside, you know, at the window, and I thought I'm gonna have to go back.
-
And so I got off the freeway and you turned, and boy.
-
I mean as soon as I was headed toward San Antonio, that's when the anointing started flowing.
-
That's when I started getting excited in my spirit.
-
That's when I knew that my obedience was key and that God was gonna do something for this man.
-
I just know all this stuff, you just know.
-
All of a sudden, my faith was way up.
-
Just instantly.
-
I went from being in a funk to being, mentally, I'm looking for somebody to pray for me.
-
Why don't you pray for me?
-
I'm the one that needs prayer to.
-
Suddenly, now I am ready, and by the time I got it's 30 minutes, by the time you do two U-turns.
-
I had to U-turn again to come back to 36th Street, to the Texaco State, you know, at 30 minutes at least, and get out of the truck.
-
I bound through the door bus, through the door, you know, and there it's just like they said.
-
He's sitting in a card table.
-
It's like this I said sir, my wife and my mother were just in here a little bit ago.
-
I didn't come in, but they told me about you that you were really feeling bad, that you've got a migraine headache.
-
He said, yeah, you know, he started getting a cigarette out.
-
That's no different than the last 32 years.
-
I get them time to time, you know.
-
He starts to light up and so this hand reaches between me and him to get a quart of beer out of the cooler.
-
There's another guy standing right there and he just you know little old place he just reaches between me and the guy you know with his hand, pulls out a quart of beer and I said, well, I've got something that'll help you.
-
And he looked at me and he kind of just tried to lean back away from me a little bit because he thought I was gonna push drugs on him.
-
He thought I was gonna sell him some drugs.
-
He said I've got something that'll help you.
-
He said, oh yeah, oh yeah, what's that?
-
Jesus, I'm gonna drop you.
-
A cigarette got in his lap.
-
You know he starts trying to get the cigarette lit, cigarette out of his lap.
-
I said, jesus, I was headed to Houston.
-
I came in here, you know, and God had me turn around.
-
Jesus had me turn around on the freeway.
-
It's been 30 minutes and I know he wants to heal you this morning.
-
Would you let me pray for you.
-
And he's looking around like are you kidding me?
-
You gonna pray for me in here?
-
You know people are in there.
-
You know.
-
I said just step out into my van, I can pray for you out there.
-
He says, oh okay, oh yeah.
-
Does he sound like a candidate that's really fired up?
-
Does he look hungry for God?
-
He's a guy about 60, maybe, and he did.
-
He was Hispanic, but his face was pale.
-
His face was pale.
-
He was so sick and hurting so bad.
-
So we went out the door of the station, over to the van that I had parked, over to the side, and I said what's your name?
-
Ed Rogers?
-
I said, ed, today's your day.
-
And I slapped him on the back.
-
I thought what did I say?
-
That for God, lee, I'm putting myself in a, and I just said it out of my spirit.
-
I'm talking about the Holy Ghost.
-
Now, when you yield yourself to the Holy Ghost.
-
So he sat in the passenger side.
-
I said, okay, I'm gonna lay hands on you.
-
The Bible says lay hands on the sick, now recover.
-
And I said so, just close your eyes and I'm gonna lay my hands on you.
-
So I leaned over toward him and I put my hands on either side of his head up here, and I had to turn in my seat to kind of do that because he's sitting beside me, and I began to pray softly in other tongues, as I did, because I wanted the Holy Ghost to direct my ministry to him.
-
I didn't know exactly how to approach this infirmity of this migraine headache and so, as I did under my breath, not out loud, I had a vision of him and his eyes were closed and he looked so miserable.
-
I mean, he looked so tormented, he looked so sick.
-
In my vision, and around his head was a worm drive clamp, one of these stainless steel clamps that I use under the hood of my car.
-
It's a radiator hose clamp.
-
A lot of times you turn the screw and it gets tighter and tighter.
-
Well, this one was bigger and it was a half inch wide around his head and it was just.
-
I could tell it was real tight and causing this pain.
-
And of course I didn't know what I was seeing, what in the, and so I said out loud he could hear me.
-
I said Lord, what's that?
-
What do I do with it?
-
That's what I said.
-
I didn't say what's that.
-
I knew what it was, but I didn't know the significance of it.
-
He said I said what do I do with that?
-
That's what I said.
-
What do I do with that?
-
He said break it in my name.
-
So I said you foul clamp of the devil, I break your power over Ed Rogers and I release him to receive his healing from migraine headaches in Jesus name.
-
And that was it.
-
That's.
-
I mean, it's really not a prayer.
-
And so I leaned back and said how we do it, ed?
-
He said all the pain is gone.
-
That's all glory to God.
-
Of course, the girl, my mother and Gladys.
-
They started praising God.
-
I mean, he was in suddenly in an atmosphere that he's not used to Praise meeting, is broken out in my van and he's looking like the proverbial person in church, but anyway, so you know what I mean.
-
So I said you know, ed, let me just talk to you a little bit longer.
-
I said I'm just so impressed with how God turned me around on the freeway, got him back here.
-
I told you it was your day.
-
I just, the only way I knew that was Jesus wanted to heal you.
-
I said you know, wouldn't it be a shame if you left here today and go, went back home and you got killed in a car wreck, went to hell after being healed.
-
You know Jesus is a great man, he healed.
-
You know Jesus healed you without any preconditions, he didn't have any strings attached, he just healed you.
-
And if you don't decide to accept him, well then you know he or he healed, but I don't know how long it'll last.
-
But look, why don't you accept Jesus?
-
Why don't you just let him take your life, take over your life?
-
Why don't you live for him?
-
He said, all right, so I let him in a sinner's prayer.
-
And after he got through saying that sinner's prayer of tears started running down his face like that.
-
And I said oh, ed, doesn't it feel good to be without pain?
-
He said well, yeah, but that's not why I'm crying Really.
-
Well, why are you crying?
-
He said look out there, look where.
-
He said look at that grass.
-
And we were parked, you know, in the service station and on the side of the freeway and it's overpass over 36th Street, so it's elevated, so it was an embankment of green grass.
-
It's March of that year, it's green, the grass had greened up, but at San Antonio it had got some rare rain and it was all green there.
-
It's beginning of the spring and no flowers though yet.
-
And he said that grass is so green.
-
I've never seen it like that.
-
I've just never seen grass like that.
-
And he's crying over green grass.
-
Come on, and God reminded me how that the God of this age has blinded the minds of the lost lest they receive the glorious gospel of Christ.
-
Oh hallelujah, come on, lift your hands.
-
God wants to do a mighty display of his power.
-
What pastor I know?
-
But that was you.
-
You're a pastor.
-
I wasn't a pastor, I'm a believer.
-
This is the Believer's Ministry.
