Breaking Through The Wall

Lift your bibles up and wave them around.

Make Jesus glad, the devil mad.

Let's say this together say, heavenly Father, the words that you speak to me, they are spirit and they are life.

I depend on the life of the Word.

I'm a Word person.

I put the Word first place.

I let the Word govern my behaviors, my appetites.

Jesus is Lord.

Therefore, the Word is Lord in Jesus' day.

Let's look at First Chronicles, chapter 14.

1 Chronicles 14 · chapter mention

And then First Corinthians 9.

First Chronicles 14.

Now this chapter is after that, seven years, david was king only of Judah and Benjamin.

There was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David, and David prevailed.

And so then, finally, they all came under David's leadership.

In verse two of chapter 14, david perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high because of his people.

Israel and David took more wives.

At Jerusalem, david begat more sons and daughters, and we'll skip all the names of those.

Verse eight.

And the Philistines were jealous.

That's the bottom line.

When God starts to lift up his people, the devil hates it.

The devil always opposes God's plan for your life.

God has in mind favor for you.

He has in mind promotion for you, blessing for you, and the devil hates it.

He gets jealous.

He doesn't like it.

And so when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David.

In other words, they wanted to confront him.

And David heard of it.

Thank God he wasn't asleep, he heard of it.

They had put the battle in a ray.

Doesn't say that in this verse, but it uses that term.

You know, when military outfits went against you.

I mean, they put everybody out there and organized fashion to win the battle.

And they came to the valley, they spread themselves in the valley of Raphahim, valley of Raphah.

In other words, raphah was the king of Israel.

Raphah, in other words, raphah, was the name of a giant.

I guess they're clueless because he'd already killed Goliath.

I don't think David was intimidated by Raphah or the memory of Raphah.

But there they were, they picked their battle.

Let's take him in the valley of the giant.

And David inquired of God saying shall I go up against the Philistines and will you deliver them into my hand?

And the Lord said unto him go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.

So they came up to Bail Parasim and David smote them there.

More about Bail Parasim in a minute, because that's not the name of it.

We already know it's the valley of Raphahim, but here it says Bail Parasim.

That's what it was named after the victory.

So they changed the name of the valley.

So they came up to Bail Parasim and David smote them there.

And David said God has broken in upon my enemies by my hand.

Therefore they call the name of the place Bail Parasim, or the Lord of the breakthrough, the Lord of the breakthrough, all right.

And then in 1 Corinthians 9, and you put me on the NLT version of that please 1 Corinthians, chapter nine, verse 24.

I just like the NLT on this particular, these verses.

Paul is writing to the church.

He says don't you realize that in a race everyone runs but only one person gets the prize?

So run to win.

All athletes are disciplined in their training.

They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

So I run with purpose in every step.

I'm not just shadowboxing, I discipline my body like an athlete, training it, training it to do what it should.

Otherwise I fear that after preaching to others, I myself might be disqualified.

And so tonight I just wanna share a message entitled Break Through the Wall.

Break through the wall.

You know Paul speaks of a race.

He compares our journey as Christians through life with an athletic contest.

I think about Hebrews, chapter 12,.

Hebrews 12 · chapter mention

You know, run your.

You know, let's run with patience the race that is set before us.

You know we don't get to choose the race or where it's run.

Only choice we have is whether we're gonna run or not, or whether we're gonna run in a manner that God approves.

Some people try to take shortcuts.

Some people try to run their Christian race by the rules of the world, by stepping on others, cutting people off, getting on the heads, you know, climbing up on the shoulders of people like they do in the corporate ladder.

You know the corporate ladder is fraught with danger, because people are always trying to step on you to get up to the next rung.

They're not waiting for you, they're gonna go right over you.

And so Run though as to win the prize, not just finish.

Yeah, we can finish, but we ought to run with more intensity than that.

Some people never finish.

I guess to finish is one level, but to win, or to run as if to win, is a whole other level that I believe God has rewards for, and his rewards are not temporary, his rewards are eternal.

I mentioned these verses in 2 Timothy, chapter four, this morning.

Paul said I fought the good fight, I've kept the faith, I finished my course.

He said, therefore, there's a crown of glory laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day, and not to me only, but to all those who love his appearing.

That crown of righteousness doesn't last for a few weeks or a few years or a few decades, it's forever.

You have that crown forever.

How long is forever?

Well, we don't know how long it is, it's infinity.

Wouldn't it be worth winning?

And the price to do without it, the price to just barely squeak by?

Yeah, we're in heaven, okay, great.

But everybody's got their crowns, everybody's got their rewards, and we're sitting there with a pup tent on the far side of heaven.

I don't know.

I've got a bigger vision than that.

I kind of think my mansion is gonna be kind of cool.

It's gonna have a foyer.

So an athlete has to strengthen himself, he has to train himself.

I mean, you know, claire's run a couple of marathons.

Carol, did you ever run the marathon you were gonna didn't work out for you.

But you don't just run a marathon, you train.

I mean, you've got a certain thing that you have to do to prepare your body to run 26 and a half miles.

I've never I don't think I've run 26 and a half feet, but anyway, but in a long time.

No, I am training now.

I'm not training for a race, I am doing some things that I used to not do and I do feel better.

It's I don't like it, who likes you know who likes it, but you do it.

Why you have to train your body, you have to train it.

You have to train your mind to be able to endure the race.

Because, especially in the marathon, you hit a wall.

You hit the place in the race where your body and your mind say uh-uh, that's it, we're done, there's no more left in the tank.

And if you have trained properly mentally and physically, then you will keep on through the wall and when you break through you get a second wind.

Everybody say a second wind, second wind.

It's kind of like the Holy Ghost coming up.

It's kind of like the Holy Ghost comes upon you when you think you're done.

The Holy Ghost can come upon you for it with a second benefit.

He can come upon you with another anointing, a whole another anointing that you hadn't tapped into because you didn't quit.

A lot of people never experience it because they just go ahead and they go along with their mind and they go along with their flesh and they just say I just can't do it.

Yes, you can, we can do all things through Christ, who's strengthened with us.

We're talking about breaking through the wall, and life is long enough to where it's going to take more than one breakthrough.

One breakthrough is not going to get you through.

It's going to take a number of breakthroughs in your life.

There's going to be a number of walls that you have to break through.

So let's just determine right now, up front we're going to break through every one of them.

Glory to God.

So here in chapter 14, david is running the race that was set before him.

Pretty sure he didn't choose the race.

I'm pretty sure he didn't ever dream when he was watching his daddy sheep the back 40, that he would ever be king over such a kingdom.

A man of renown, a warrior I mean, he's just a shepherd boy, oh.

But he loved God.

He was a worshipper, worshipers.

The Bible says the Father seeks those to worship him in spirit and in truth.

You're listening, you're on God's short list and you're a worshipper.

There can be a whole list of people over here with a better pedigree, a better you know set of natural abilities.

Their resume might shine brighter than yours, but when you're a worshipper, you're God's default choice.

Amen, because when you're a worshipper, you know the source of his power, you know the source of the love that drives you.

You do it because you love him.

And if he were to say, I want you to run over here, you wouldn't have any second choice about it.

You wouldn't gripe, you wouldn't complain, you wouldn't wish for a different race.

You'd get in there and you'd run and you'd overcome and you'd break through.

Hallelujah.

I think about you know, david wasn't perfect.

He made a few mistakes.

Even early on.

He made some mistakes.

After he was king.

He decided okay, I don't like the fact that the Ark is over here, I'm going to go get the Ark and bring it back to Jerusalem.

Well, he didn't pray, he didn't ask God and he didn't consult the word.

He just went over there with an ox cart, a couple of guys, and you know the story.

I mean, didn't get very far and when the ox stumbled and the cart almost flipped over, uza put out his hand to stop it and he was dead.

On arrival, bang.

And God was.

You know, david was kind of mad at God a little bit, he pouted a little bit.

But God Lee, I'm doing a good thing.

What's the deal?

It took a while to find out.

Well, the Bible says this is how you transport the Ark.

You got to have the Levites and they're going to carry him on their shoulders.

That's why you got the poles.

Doesn't have anything, you don't have no cart.

So finally, when he got the right plan God see God's plans already blessed, david's plan ended in tragedy for Uza.

You know that had to be hard on David.

You know he was responsible for that guy dying, young, strong man.

He was only trying to do good.

But you know it.

Just that's the old covenant.

Aren't you glad we don't have that kind of thing to concern ourselves?

Blood has cleansed us and made us worthy, amen.

So he brought back the Ark.

He was blessed on every side.

He's got children, he's got wives, he's got riches, he's got a beautiful home.

God told him I'll build you a house.

He built him one.

I mean, you know I don't have a house, but when the challenge came down from the Philistines, he would not move until he got God's plan.

He wanted to know, he didn't presume and he didn't assume.

Presumption and assumption will cause you not to be able to break through your wall.

He got God's answer.

And what God's plan?

Well, you're gonna give me this victory.

Are you gonna get them over in my hand?

Yep, yep, sure am.

You go ahead?

You go down, I'll give you the victory.

And he did.

And so Baal paraisum, the Lord of the breakthrough, renamed the whole valley.

But, as I said, there's more than one breakthrough.

It's gonna take for you.

We can rejoice all we need to on one breakthrough, but let me tell you there's gonna be a series of breakthroughs, especially right now, before the Lord comes.

I mean, this is the time of the pressure.

This is the time when the hourglass, what we call the compression of the ages, everything is pressurized.

Right now you turn an hourglass over.

At first it's just young, you can't even tell the level is falling.

You see the sand dripping through there, little neck.

You know it's dripping into the bottom and you see it piling up, but it doesn't even look like it's moving.

But the closer it gets to that neck it starts accelerating.

It starts moving faster and you can just sit there and watch the last minute or two of it.

If it's an hourglass, one hour, you can really look at the last two or three, four, five minutes of it and you can see that level falling pretty quick and it accelerates as it goes through that neck.

It goes whoosh and then it's over.

The pressure in that neck is where we are.

We're gonna have to have a series of breakthroughs before Jesus comes, because the devil knows his time is short and he's crazy mad.

Who's he mad at?

The guy sitting on the bar stool?

No, he's mad at the church.

He's mad at churches like this.

That's why everything we do has to be bathed in prayer, to make sure we have God's plan and not ours.

Our plan is fraught with danger.

Our plan is exposed to the enemy's attacks.

Well, why does God do that?

Well, god has given us His Word.

We're not supposed to follow it.

He's given us His Holy Spirit.

We're supposed to follow Him.

So we don't have any excuse.

If we have a failure, it's not God's fault.

He's given us all the tools to have victory.

I'm talking about victory tonight.

I'm talking about destroying and breaking through the wall.

You know I didn't say it wouldn't be taxing on our physical body and our mind.

That's the discipline part.

Sometimes you just gotta do without some things.

Get up a little earlier, stay up a little later, do a little fasting.

That's something nobody talks about much, you know.

You don't fast to get something done.

You fast to discipline yourself.

That's why you fast.

You don't fast to get healed.

You don't fast to make God do something.

I'm gonna fast for 40 days and 40 nights.

Then God, no, that's not what you do it for.

You do it for you.

You do it to discipline your flesh and say, look, flesh food is not my God.

I'm gonna pray.

See if you don't pray instead of eat.

You haven't done anything.

You've done all this limp stuff and all that nuts Worthless.

I lived all that.

That's why I could left the Catholic church.

I knew it didn't make any sense.

It just didn't sound like God to me.

I know I wasn't saved at the time, but I mean I got a brain.

God gave me a brain, and when you see religious tradition that's just dead.

Are you with me now, yeah, yeah.

So David annihilated the Philistines in the Valley of Refaim and he gave God all the glory.

He said God has broken forth on my enemies.

Yeah, he used my hand, but he did it.

He took not one shred of the credit.

Now you know they came again.

See, that's the thing, right there.

Let's look at it.

Verse 13, the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the Valley.

Now, the devil, he doesn't quit.

He gonna move you.

Try to move you off and he's gonna move you off.

He's gonna move you try to move you off of your race.

He's gonna try to move you off of God's plan that you're moving through in your life.

All of us have a race to run.

We're not running against each other, running in cooperation with each other.

Yeah, therefore, david assumed.

Well, you know I beat him there last time, I'm gonna do the same thing this time.

Is that what it said David?

Verse 14, inquired again of God.

See, don't assume and don't presume.

Pray, yeah, we've got to bathe everything in prayer.

My brother passed that his home going service last Saturday, a week ago, one of the while he was in the hospital about two weeks, I mean from the first day he went in.

I wanted to go, my flesh wanted to go, my emotions wanted to go.

He's my best friend.

We talk all the time.

I called him on the phone and I kept gaging my spirit and I told the Lord.

I said, lord, I haven't heard from you about going.

I don't have a release to go, but I'm willing to go.

I just I didn't say I wanted to go.

I said I'm willing to go If you want me to go, give me a witness to go, because in our relationship we, I have a supply of the spirit for him.

Many times God's used me to extend his life.

At least once the doctors wanted to do surgery, remove six inches of his colon about 10 years ago, and I knew as soon as I heard that report.

I knew he was going to die.

I knew it.

I knew he couldn't survive the surgery.

I knew it.

I said I'll be there and I drove to San Antonio, sat on the side of his bed, preached to him in Silvia for about an hour and just went over the healing scripture.

This is a mature Christian.

I mean he's a missionary to Mexico.

I mean they don't need me like that.

But at the same time I had, I knew I had something for him in my hands, I had something in my spirit for him and I laid hands on him Actually, I know him with oil and I said there are too much of a hurry, they need to slow this thing down.

They're just way too.

They're calling this an emergency.

They just need to cool their jets.

And I left, went back home.

I mean within 15 minutes of me walking out the door, the doctor came in.

The head guy that was heading up all of his carry said Mr Griner, we're going to slow this thing down, we're just going too fast, we're just going too fast.

He never did have to have surgery.

Oh, come on, let's lift our hands, thank God, for the Holy Ghost.

So with that in mind, I mean my brother's kind of suffering.

He's bleeding in the lungs, coughing up blood.

So much blood is coming out his digestive tract.

I hate it.

I wanted to do something about it.

No one looks the innocent, but I couldn't get a release.

I kept you know.

I said it again Lord, you want me to go?

Just give me the, give me the go ahead.

See, if I'd have gone, it would have been presumption, and in my case I meant nobody's case.

Right now we can't afford to do our own thing.

We've got to be governed by the Holy Ghost.

We've got to discipline our emotions and our minds and our flesh to run our race.

Well, what do you think would have happened?

Well, I don't know.

But I know one thing you get on I-10, you better have the Holy Ghost with you.

I mean, it's bad enough when he says go, it's crazy.

All that construction, all those 18-wheelers thank God for the 18-wheelers.

That means that something's going on in this country.

I've been out there when it was like a ghost town.

At least things are moving now, anyway.

So he went to the Lord and verse 14, david inquired of the again of the Lord and God said unto him Go not up after them, don't show yourself, don't go up after them, turn away from them and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

So he came in stealth and it shall be now.

This is God still talking to him, and it shall be when you shall hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees.

The word going means marching.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, what is that all about?

That's angelic beings.

He's going to go out, all right, but there's going to be an army of angels going with him.

When you hear him marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone forth before you to smite the host of the Philistine.

Hallelujah.

There's going to come more and more angelic appearances and activities.

David therefore did as God commanded him and they smote the host of the Philistines, from Gibbian to even to Gaser.

They cleaned their clock and the fame of David went out into all lands and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.

Hallelujah, I guess you could say.

His footprint grew.

That's where this church is right now.

Our footprint is growing.

Why?

Because we've bathed everything, we've done in prayer, we've obeyed God to wake up the church in every way, and then, all of a sudden, he just adds all these things that we never dreamed would happen.

Who would ever dream you're going to have church in the capital that pastors from all over the state of Texas want to be part of it when they hear about it, they all.

How can our church do more?

See, there, god is using this church to wake the church up After all.

This time I've done everything I knew to do.

I wrote a book, I went here, I did this, I talked to that one and this one and all of a sudden, since COVID, since we opened, you know, palm Sunday three years ago is when all this started happening.

God said I'm going to increase your footprint.

And he is, it's him, it's, he's doing it.

This is how God can use I mean, we're not exactly a mega church.

He's not using a mega church, he's using this church.

He can use anybody.

He'll use worshipers.

I said he'll use worshipers.

You getting anything out of this?

So God gave David a different plan, but even greater results.

Really, you look at the results of results were even greater.

Well, what is the wall?

Well, it can be almost anything.

It'd be moral failure.

About the time you've done something you're ashamed of.

You think it's all over.

Well, god's not necessarily through with you.

Get it under the blood and go on.

Leave all that to God.

God can?

God's not going to give up on you.

Marriage trouble If God had to exclude everybody that had marriage trouble, he wouldn't have very many people left.

Do anything.

Don't let the devil accuse you.

Don't let the devil give you a hard time about the fact that you're attached to a bag of flesh, you know pretty soon we're going to get rid of it.

Just keep discipline in your foot.

Just keep on.

Just keep on discipline in your foot.

Just keep on saying to your flesh no.

You know, if Paul, who wrote two thirds of the New Testament, had trouble with his flesh, don't you think you're going to have some trouble with yours?

He said I have to keep my body under subjection.

His body wanted to keep doing things that were not right.

You show me somebody that's so holy that they don't have any trouble with their flesh.

I'll show you a liar Woo Health.

Well, you know, devil thought he had me, but he didn't have me.

God reset my clock.

Keep on running, keep on training, keep on disciplining your mind and your flesh.

Finances.

Oh, I tell you, God has got a financial breakthrough for the church that we haven't even tapped into.

He keeps giving us little previews.

In this church's history we've had some previews of financial breakthrough and you know what they're about.

Like this compared to what he wants to do, he wants to do more.

He is willing and able to do more if we can just believe him for it.

Amen.

Jesus said that that wall, whatever it is.

I just described several of them as part of living in this world.

He said in the world you shall have tribulation, anguish, trouble, contrary circumstances.

He said be of good cheer, be of good courage.

I've overcome the world, you can too.

I've given you the Holy Ghost.

You're an overcomer, you overcome the world.

This is the faith, this is the victory that overcome the world, even our faith.

And so one of my favorite scriptures I've been quoting it for years In first Peter, chapter four, verse 12, think it not strange, brethren, concerning the fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing has happened to you?

But rejoice, isn't that sort of counterintuitive?

Doesn't that take discipline?

That's not that.

Look, your flesh doesn't want to rejoice when trouble hits.

Fiery trials hit you.

You look for the fire extinguisher, don't you?

You know your first impulse is not to rejoice.

Your first impulse is to find somebody and tell them all about it.

Call the prayer line oh, I have a fiery trial, pray for me.

We try to get about 5,000 people praying for us, thinking that that's the answer.

No, he said rejoice Inasmuch that you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, that when his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad, also with exceeding joy.

You didn't get this thing cheap.

You overcame every wall, you broke through every wall that came against you, you smoked the devil right in the mouth and you kept on running to win.

Hallelujah One of my other favorite scriptures of Psalm 3119.

Oh, how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for those who fear thee, which thou hast wrought or performed or released for them who trust in thee before the sons of men.

I came across that verse years ago when things were tough, rough a wall.

But I just imagined the goodness of God like holding back this huge lake of blessing.

You know, you've got this big old dam.

It's dammed up, this huge lake, and this lake is just full of blessing, full of blessing.

But you're on this side of it.

You know, having gotten the blessing hadn't come this way, the goodness hadn't come this way.

What do you do?

You just, you know, do you have to knock the entire dam down?

You have to blow it up?

No, all you've got to do is punch a little hole in it.

You punch a little hole in that dam and that that blessing starts coming out of there.

It starts running out of there, and it's not enough to wet your big toe, but it's coming out.

And it's coming out.

If you can just get it to start leaking a little bit.

If you can just get it to leak a little bit, that water will finally just keep eroding the dam away until boom.

Now all the blessings of God are going to rush over you and overtake you.

Hallelujah, hallelujah.

It doesn't take a damn breaking bunch of faith, it just need.

All you need is a little crack in the wall.

Your faith is enough.

And your faith is released.

In what Words?

Right, all right, all right.

So break through the wall.

Number one seek God for his strategy.

That's what David did.

1 Corinthians 10, 13.

There's no temptation, test or trial or wall taking you but such as common to man.

But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted, tested, to try it above what you're able, but will, with the temptation, test or trial, also make a way of escape that you may be able to bear up.

Under it, you may be enduring till you get the wall broke, until you get the dam broke.

I mean, there's always a time between the amen and the there it is.

The amen is when you prayed about it, and the there it is is when it actually happens.

But there's, you know, in between.

You can depend on God.

He's always faithful and he will give you the grace and you're going to keep running.

You're going to break through the wall.

You're not going to stop running.

Number two speak the word of that wall, based on your covenant, mark 11, 23.

You don't pray about the mountain.

What do you do?

You speak to it.

You speak to your mountain.

You speak to your wall.

You speak to that adversarial situation.

Speak to it.

And then finally comes the rejoicing part.

You have to act like the word is true.

What does that mean?

That means you rejoice.

That's when you start rejoicing, when you've taken care of your side of it.

It's just a fate to complete.

I mean, it's going to happen.

You don't care how long it is.

Your mind is not on the calendar, your eyes aren't on the calendar, you're not looking at your watch.

You've dealt with this situation.

You've spoken.

You've gotten God's strategy, you've spoken the word of God and faith toward it, and now what's left is for you to rejoice.

Thank God.

Hallelujah, I broken through the wall.

Hallelujah, the Lord has broken through upon mine.

Enemies by my hand, come on, lift your hands tonight.

Glory to God, glory to God, glory to God, hallelujah.

There's an anointing in here tonight.

My goodness, I think we ought to stand up and do a little shouting right now, just judging from how you've received this word Hallelujah, hallelujah, lord, you're breaking through upon our enemies by our hand, oh, hallelujah.

Glory to God, glory to God.

Thank you, jesus.

Hallelujah, oh, hallelujah.

Just get a picture of that damn breaking and all those blessings coming through, all the goodness of God flooding over you.

Hallelujah, thank you, lord.

A tsunami of blessing, a tsunami, I mean you can't even stand up.

It's going to sweep you right off your feet.

What happened to you?

I've been washed away in the river of blessing.

I've been swept downstream.

I don't even have to paddle.

Hallelujah, glory to God.
