Let's wave our Bibles around Jesus, let's thank you, father.
-
We thank you today for the Word of God and the Holy Ghost.
-
I'm a teachable person.
-
I don't know everything, but I have a willingness to be taught things that I haven't considered to be reimagined, about things that I used to have, that I've let slip.
-
I want all you've got for me.
-
The only way I can repay you is to get into position to receive all that.
-
The blood is purchased in Jesus' name, amen.
-
You can be seated, turning your Bibles pleased to Acts, chapter one.
-
Well, that sounds familiar.
-
Yes, it's the same verses I used last week.
-
We talked about resurrection readiness.
-
Last week we talked about the fact that church isn't ready for the second coming.
-
The second coming is in two parts it's coming for the church and it's coming back with the church.
-
Millions of Christians don't know squat about it.
-
Isn't it pitiful that we have people that I have their double D, doctor of Divinity, which I mean dumb, dumb really that they don't teach this.
-
They don't know it themselves.
-
The faith was drummed out of them in Bible school or in Divinity's theology school.
-
Well, you know, thank God, god drummed some things into me and I'm gonna keep teaching these things because I know them to be true.
-
But Acts, chapter one, let's start with verse one.
-
And of course Dr Luke wrote Book of Acts and of course he wrote the Gospel of Luke and Luke, just to let you know, the Luke had a more of an insight into the Holy Spirit than the rest of the apostles.
-
He spoke about the Holy Spirit more and he says the former treatise, have I made, o theophilus, of all that?
-
Jesus began both to do and to teach.
-
Just think about what Jesus said was just the beginning, folks.
-
And what I see people all fouled up on the rapture and all fouled up on the end times is they just take what Jesus said.
-
Well, jesus barely touched the subject.
-
I mean, he didn't really talk.
-
In fact he wasn't talking to you and me, he was talking to the Jews.
-
So don't get all confused.
-
You can start saying everything that Jesus said about the rapture.
-
He didn't talk about the rapture.
-
He didn't talk about the rapture.
-
So what he said about he didn't say anything about it because it didn't apply to the Jews.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
He began both to do and to teach until the day that he was taken up.
-
After that he, through the Holy Ghost had given commandments under the apostles whom he had chosen.
-
And when you read the commandments, it references you back to the Great Commission, going to all the world preach the gospel to every creature.
-
That's what he commanded them.
-
He commanded them, he said those that believe in under baptize shall be saved.
-
Those that don't believe will be condemned.
-
And these signs will follow them that believe.
-
And then you know then, another place in Matthew all authority in heaven and earth given unto me, go.
-
Ye.
-
Therefore, see, he commanded it in samples to go Now, to keep that in mind.
-
That command, he commanded them to go, and that was leading up to this moment right here.
-
What is this moment?
-
We're going to read it To whom?
-
Also, he showed himself alive after his passions.
-
He had 40 days to do that 40 days.
-
He showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs.
-
Another version says, in convincing evidences If they needed proof and evidence, well, how much more does the church need to offer some proof and evidence now to a lost and dying world?
-
What's it going to take?
-
The supernatural Not being able to argue with people and all that?
-
There's a place for debate and all, but it's minor compared to the miracles that we've got to manifest, being seen of them 40 days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God and being assembled together with them, commanded them.
-
Now here's another command on top of the other commands.
-
Everybody say he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but, quote wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard of me, for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with a Holy Ghost not many days from now and, as a matter of fact, 10 days from that moment, they were all filled with a Holy Ghost.
-
Acts, chapter two and began to speak with other tongues.
-
As the Spirit gave the motherhood.
-
Jesus said don't leave Jerusalem to obey my other commands.
-
I commanded you until you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, verse eight.
-
But you shall receive power.
-
After that, the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses under me, both in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
-
So, in other words, you said don't leave home without it.
-
What's in your wallet Not enough, not enough at this present time is in your wallet.
-
You're gonna have to have something more in your wallet.
-
You're gonna have to have the power of the Holy Ghost to do the ministry I've commanded you to do, and it's the same with us.
-
Folks you wanna know why the world is fouled up is because the church is fouled up.
-
The church has not walked in the power of the Holy Ghost.
-
But you know what?
-
God's got a plan.
-
I said God's got a plan and so I'm gonna talk about the baptism of the Holy Ghost right on the heels of last week, because we had I don't know a dozen people who were more up here to get right with God.
-
Some got saved, some got recommitted, some are just wanting to just let God know that they're on fire for him.
-
And it was a wonderful service on Resurrection Sunday.
-
And we have a lot of new members and that just discovered that this is their church and I'm their pastor and I don't know what all their backgrounds are, but every one of you need to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
You need to be number one.
-
You have to be baptized with the Holy Ghost first and there's one baptism that happens one time in your life, just like when you got saved.
-
That happened one time.
-
You don't get saved over and over.
-
You get saved once you get baptized in the Holy Ghost once, but there are many fillings.
-
We have to stay full of the Holy Ghost.
-
So, as a church, without the baptism you're not gonna walk in the fullness of what I'm teaching, you're not gonna accomplish or help us accomplish our mandates.
-
You know, this past Tuesday night we had Doris Way Church night at the capital of the state of Texas and you ought to get on Facebook and see that service.
-
I mean it was so powerful to worship.
-
I mean our worship team was there and forced every member of our worship team I mean you had Carol and Asian, a and J and Ethan and Bob and they just, I mean it was so anointing was dripping off the walls in the middle of the capital, in the belly of the capital of the state of Texas, where they're arguing and screaming at each other.
-
You've got all these nut jobs.
-
They're crazy, demonized, demon, possessed some of them.
-
Oh, but here we are bringing the demonstration of the spirit and James preached a message.
-
I'm telling you it was so powerful, it was just anointed as it could be, and I just how did that happen?
-
I'm gonna tell you something God had processed that plan long ago in prayer, when we prayed in tongues, I don't know how many.
-
I never had any idea that this church would be involved in worship at the capital and we're right in the big thick middle of it and we're recruiting pastors from all over the state.
-
We're gonna eventually have enough and they're gonna.
-
It shouldn't be our job to do the whole thing.
-
We've gotta have help and God's getting that.
-
I was not in my heart.
-
God didn't say I want you to go to the capital and I want no, I never heard about it.
-
God had it in his vest pocket and he pulled it out here.
-
Next thing, I know we're doing it.
-
You know, literally.
-
Jesus said the literal Greek here is that you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you After you get baptized, and the Holy Ghost.
-
You'll get the power of the Holy Ghost.
-
So you get the Holy Ghost and then you get the power of the Holy Ghost.
-
That's the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead.
-
That's the same power that raised Christ from the dead.
-
Resurrection Sunday.
-
I mean that's what we talked about resurrection power.
-
This is how you get resurrection power.
-
You think you're gonna accomplish anything in this world with just regular old church as usual?
-
It ain't gonna happen.
-
It ain't gonna happen.
-
It's gonna take the church on fire.
-
Amen, filled with and controlled by the Holy Ghost.
-
So why should I receive the baptism?
-
Well, the shortest answer.
-
I went to a long, a long way around, but the shortest answer is Jesus commanded it.
-
Is he your Lord or not?
-
A lot of people are just resistant.
-
Well, you know, that's speaking in tongues, that's of the devil.
-
Oh really, where's the scripture on that?
-
Would you show that to me, because you're full of beans?
-
I heard one of the leading pastors in this camp town 40 years ago say that on television and I flicked my television off.
-
I said I'm through listening to him.
-
He had no squat.
-
He had his DD, his dumb, dumb degree.
-
That's what he's repeating.
-
What he heard in seminary cemetery Speaking in tongues is of the devil.
-
Paul said I speak in tongues more than y'all.
-
I'm so filled with the devil.
-
I speak in tongues all the time.
-
Read your Bible.
-
Looks like anybody could read their Bible and come up with a better answer than that.
-
That's right.
-
I'll tell you what it's stinking pride Cause Pentecostals had a reputation for being holy rollers.
-
They roll on the floor, they do all kinds of crazy things that people that didn't have the Holy Ghost didn't understand, and they criticized them, make up stories about them.
-
Well, okay, yeah, they've got some doctrines that I don't agree with.
-
Like you know, making their women look like, you know, an old mud fence instead of letting them put on a little makeup.
-
I mean, that's not in the Bible either.
-
See, they're not perfect.
-
Nobody's perfect.
-
Nobody's got a corner on the whole Bible.
-
Everybody's got weaknesses, but let me tell you something One of the weaknesses is not being baptized in the Holy Ghost.
-
That's a strength.
-
I said that's a strength.
-
So every believer has a ministry.
-
You've heard me say that.
-
I want to say it again Every one of you has a ministry.
-
It's a supernatural ministry.
-
So it follows, then, that you need supernatural power, you need the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you for you to do that ministry.
-
In Acts, chapter six, there was an argument about the Grecian widows and they weren't getting their share of the food at breakfast time, and apostles were doing double duty.
-
They were waiting on the tables, they were cooking the food, they were doing, they were trying to administer, and finally they said you know, it's not a reason that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
-
Look out among you, seven men of honest report and full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom to appoint over this business, and we will give ourselves.
-
Continue to the word of God in prayer.
-
I mean in the early church.
-
In order to be an usher, in order to clean the tables, you had to be full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom.
-
Amen.
-
So it must be important.
-
So baptism of the Holy Ghost is the doorway into the supernatural.
-
Amen.
-
So you know, 2023, god told me this is the gear of God's power and I just, I just can't let another Sunday go by without having a separate opportunity for you to receive.
-
If you haven't received yet, that's my own.
-
I'm aiming that way.
-
I want you to know upfront we're gonna have another altar call.
-
I'm aiming at getting each one of you filled with a Holy Ghost.
-
If you haven't been filled, or if you have been filled, you've kind of let it fall and you haven't really kept it up and you kind of don't pray in tongues anymore, you did it one point.
-
Well, we're gonna get it fired back up.
-
You can get refilled.
-
You won't get re-baptized.
-
You've been baptized already but you can get filled again.
-
The Bible says in Ephesians 5, be being filled, be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
So it's so important for so many of the churches to ignore the powerful revivals that the churches had over the 2000 years.
-
We've had revival after revival, after revival and the Holy Ghost has been the middle of every one of them.
-
But you take Martin Luther.
-
That was the revival and overturned the Roman church.
-
The sale of indulgences, the corruption in the Catholic church, the Roman church.
-
And here's Martin Luther, one of them, and he said no, salvation through grace, by faith alone, not by works.
-
They were basically preaching salvation by works and that's what most Catholics get out of what they're taught.
-
I confronted my local parish priest after I got saved.
-
He said oh, that's Baptist.
-
We can't preach that.
-
Everybody would think we're turned Baptist.
-
That's what he said to me.
-
I knew that moment I was out the door.
-
Goodbye, you don't have enough.
-
I mean, you went to seminary for 12 years to learn junk like that.
-
I just got saved.
-
I know more than that.
-
I can read my Bible and know that that's bunk.
-
Jesus said it you must be born again.
-
You must be.
-
Didn't say it was optional.
-
They go to Mass on Sunday.
-
He didn't say that.
-
He didn't say that.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Picking on the Catholic says I was one.
-
All right, you know some say so.
-
You've got to receive the baptism, you got to stay full.
-
Those are the two things you walk away from church this morning with receive it.
-
Once you've received it, stay with it, stay full.
-
And that takes time.
-
It takes a reprioritization of what you're doing.
-
Got examined kind of how you live.
-
I mean you live on the edge of just empty.
-
How far can you get on an empty tank and these modern cars with all the fuel injection and all of the stuff, and you run those cars out of gas and, man, you might have to haul it into the dealership to get it started again.
-
I mean it messes everything up.
-
It's not like the old, old time cars.
-
So let's not run out of gas, let's run out of power.
-
This is the time.
-
The devil is crazy mad.
-
He knows his time is short and he's pulling out all the stops to kill you.
-
He's not trying to give you a bad hair day, he's trying to kill you.
-
Are you with me now?
-
Well, some say you know I got the Holy Ghost when I was saved.
-
Well, that's true.
-
You did.
-
You got the Holy Ghost when you were saved.
-
You know Titus, chapter three, verses five and six, not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost which God has shed forth on us abundantly through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
-
So that washing of regeneration, you have the spirit.
-
By regeneration, the spirit came into you and made you a new person.
-
The new birth is the greatest miracle.
-
There is this resurrection power.
-
And if Christ raised the dead by the Holy Ghost, then you couldn't have been saved without the Holy Ghost.
-
You had the Holy Ghost.
-
The Holy Ghost came into you and just like this cup right here, it's got some water in it.
-
You've got Holy Ghost in you right there.
-
Jesus told the woman at the well.
-
He said you know, if you just wanted to, until you could ask me and I'd give you a living water, I'll give you some living water.
-
See, living water is a type of the Holy Ghost.
-
He said I'll give you the.
-
She's a Samaritan woman.
-
She's a woman that's living with her fifth husband.
-
It's not even her husband living with a man.
-
She's had five husbands and this guy's not her husband.
-
And Jesus didn't condemn her.
-
He said I'll give you some living water and it'll be in you like a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
-
Jesus and John chapter four likened salvation to a well of water.
-
Everybody say a well.
-
See, that's for you A well.
-
What's a well for?
-
A well is for you, it's for your life, it's for you to drink from.
-
But in John chapter seven, on that last day of the feast of tabernacles, all of Judaism was in Jerusalem to celebrate.
-
For seven days they were commanded to rejoice.
-
The whole time they had these little booths, little things made out of wood and little palm branches on the top that they could see through.
-
They were supposed to sleep in those.
-
They're supposed to live in those.
-
They're supposed to eat their apples and their honey.
-
They did that.
-
They sang, they danced through the streets.
-
They were commanded to do all that.
-
You would think that after seven days of that that they would be just on a sky high.
-
They would be so happy.
-
But Jesus stood on the last day, that great day of the feast, and he said if any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink.
-
See, they were just as empty.
-
They left just as empty as they arrived.
-
Religion will do, that Religion will never satisfy you.
-
He said if you thirst him for something real, come to me and drink, and out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.
-
Well, there's a whole big difference between a well of water and rivers of living water.
-
See, there's two different experiences that Jesus talked about.
-
But this spake he of the Spirit which those who believe on him should receive.
-
But the Holy Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified, see.
-
So he wasn't talking about them right there, he was talking about us.
-
He's talking about after the resurrection.
-
He's talking about after he goes up into heaven.
-
He's talking about his disciples waiting in Jerusalem until they be in dude with power of Moan High.
-
And now they're gonna have something.
-
They're gonna have a well, all right, but then they're gonna have rivers.
-
I keep thinking about one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi.
-
I mean just think about six Mississippi's running out of you.
-
I mean that's a lot of water.
-
Most Christians don't have enough water to get their big toe wet.
-
We need rivers.
-
We don't need just one river, we need rivers.
-
We need multiple rivers to overcome.
-
In these last days especially, are y'all with me now?
-
So, yeah, you got the Holy Ghost when you were saved, but have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe?
-
See, that's what he asked them in at Ephesus.
-
He asked them a very curious have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe?
-
Well, why would Paul ask a question like that in Acts, chapter 12?
Acts 12 chapter mention
-
Well, he asked that question because there's a subsequent experience to getting saved.
-
It's called the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
-
You know, when you get saved you get a well of water.
-
But when you do have to ask, jesus said if you'll ask the Father, he'll give you something.
-
Asking you shall receive, seeking you shall find, knocking it shall be over.
-
Matthew wrote about it and he said if you, being natural fathers, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more should your heaven and father give good things to them that ask?
-
Matthew said good things, but when Luke wrote about the identical time, luke who wrote the book of Acts, who traveled with Paul and Peter and all that, he was there.
-
He was there during all of the Acts of the apostles.
-
That's why he wrote it.
-
He put it this way.
-
He said if you, being natural fathers, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more.
-
Should your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask.
-
Now, you don't need to ask for the Holy Spirit when you get saved.
-
It just comes with this experience.
-
It comes with the package.
-
I mean, you go order a new car, you're gonna say I wanna make sure it's got an engine.
-
No, you don't need to order the engine, it comes with the car.
-
When you buy the car, it comes with the engine.
-
It comes with tires, comes with the transmission, comes with doors.
-
You know all that right.
-
But now, after you get saved, if you want something else, you're gonna have to ask for it.
-
You're gonna have to thirst for it, is it?
-
Amen, thirst.
-
I'm making you thirsty right now, some of you getting thirsty while I'm preaching.
-
That's the aim of this.
-
I could teach and teach and preach.
-
I mean, you know, I wanna just I just wanna lay my hands on you and get you filled.
-
Well, I have a lot of questions.
-
Well, you gotta answer them after you receive.
-
Sometimes people just wanna think their way into oblivion.
-
They think about something for 50 years and never receive.
-
Listen, you need it and this is an opportunity.
-
It's not the last opportunity, it's just a great opportunity to get filled.
-
I just go back to that night that we had Tuesday night.
-
There's no way that would have happened if we hadn't been partaking of what we're talking about baptism of the Holy Ghost.
-
God, that prayer language that you have when you get baptized in the Holy Ghost is the most powerful thing.
-
I mean you pray things that your brain can't even understand and you're praying it out and God is using you to process the plan of God for your life.
-
You can pray things into place that you never even dreamed were part of it.
-
That's why the world is so fouled up, because the church hasn't done its part.
-
Now we're here to wake up the church.
-
Amen, everybody say.
-
A subsequent experience yeah, another falsehood, and I'll just end with this one that I could go on on.
-
You know I already mentioned one speaking tongues of the devil.
-
That's almost embarrassing for somebody to say that, but people have heard that I won't ask for a show of hands because I don't want to embarrass you, but Another common thing to say is well, you know, I'm filled with the Holy Ghost, I just don't speak in tongues.
-
Okay, mr Rarity, I mean, you're totally different than all the people.
-
In the Bible there's six different instances where people got filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues, and you're the exception.
-
No, speaking in tongues is the evidence that you're full.
-
You know, gladys has lived by a little creed all her life.
-
If a little bit's good, a whole lot's better, she just liked that.
-
A little bit's good, a whole lot's better.
-
So you know, a little sparkle, a lot of sparkle.
-
A little pastor.
-
You're wearing a lavender jacket, I know that, but I get it from her.
-
She's flashy.
-
When she fills a coffee cup, she doesn't just you know, most people just put like three quarters full.
-
You know, she pours it until it's overflowing.
-
It gets in the saucer Old timey cups and saucers, you know pours, it gets all over the outside of the cup, it goes down in the saucer.
-
So when she picks it up, it drips all over the front, drips on her skirt, drips on her pant.
-
Whatever she's wearing, if she's going somewhere, she's walking through the house, it's spilling.
-
Why?
-
Cause it's just over full, it's.
-
You know.
-
That's just how she is A little bit's good, a whole lot's better.
-
She doesn't want to run out.
-
She was a seventh out of eighth kids and she knew what it was like to run out.
-
It usually ran out.
-
Before it was her turn.
-
It usually ran out.
-
The clothes ran out, the shoes ran out, the food ran out by the time it got to her.
-
So she likes over the top, she wants more than enough.
-
And so when you get filled to overflowing and rivers are flowing out of you, english or your natural language is not good enough.
-
You're going to have a language that comes from heaven to praise him with Whoa.
-
Come on, lift your hands right now.
-
Glory to God, hallelujah.
-
No, we're not ashamed of Holy Ghost power.
-
No, we're not ashamed.
-
So you know, on the day of Pentecost, 120 people spoke in tongues.
-
Included in that 120 was Mary.
-
Mary, blessed Virgin, spoke in tongues.
-
Dummy, it's from the devil, really.
-
And then you go on down the list.
-
I mean, you got the Samaritans.
-
When Philip preached at the Samaritans, they had miracles.
-
And then he called Peter and John.
-
They went and laid hands on the people in Samaria and they overspoken tongues Fill with the Holy Ghost, cornelius's house and his kin folk.
-
They spoke in tongues.
-
I mentioned the people at the 12 at Ephesus.
-
They spoke in tongues.
-
Paul laid his hands on them.
-
They spoke in tongues.
-
Are you with me now?
-
And then, of course, paul himself.
-
I thank my God, I speak in tongues more than you all, so you're going to be the exception.
-
So really, it's just your stinking pride.
-
You don't want to speak in tongues.
-
It's that identifies you with Pentecostals.
-
I heard one famous Baptist I won't pick on him, I want to use his name, but he's on television saying that kind of.
-
He came to Lakewood one time and said that Brother Osteen had to come behind him and correct him when he left town.
-
We had pastors I mean, you get just any Joe Blow and behind the pulpit saying things you know.
-
You got to be prepared to correct the mess that they leave behind.
-
And he left a mess.
-
It's a big old crowd, 5,000 people.
-
He said oh, I've been filled with holy ghost a long time.
-
I just don't speak in tongues.
-
Whatever, mr pompous, it's just the Bible ignorance.
-
Let's stick with the Bible.
-
Let's stick with the Bible.
-
You don't have to, you get to.
-
I have a message 32 benefits of praying in other tongues, 32, wouldn't you want 32?
-
I would want three, I would want one.
-
There's 32.
-
I can give you out of the Bible Benefits of praying and other tongues and speaking in tongues.
-
Are you with me now?
-
So what a glorious, powerful help God has provided for us to have.
-
He paid the price for us to have it.
-
Until Jesus died on the cross, no man could have it.
-
God could not live in man.
-
God couldn't even hardly live with man.
-
They were always running afoul of his, of his shekinah glory.
-
I mean, if they just got one.
-
I mean the high priest was the only one that could go into his presence just once a year, and I mean, if he had so much as a freckle, if he sweat just a little bit, if he had one little Carbuncle on the side of his head and whatever it was, I mean the glory could break in on him and kill him right there in a spot.
-
That's why they had to wear a rope around their waist.
-
When the bells on the bottom of their vestments quit ringing, they knew that high priest had died.
-
So then they had to pull him out of there with a rope.
-
It was a fearsome, awesome thing to be in God's presence.
-
I Mean Moses was up there on the Mount 40 days.
-
He said Lord, show me your glory.
-
You can't take that.
-
I've got a little place here behind the rock.
-
I've got a cleft in the rock.
-
I'm put you over there and I'm gonna hide you and I'm gonna pass by and you can just see my, my rear parts as I go by.
-
That's all you can stand.
-
I mean, he couldn't see.
-
He couldn't see the whole shekinah glory.
-
He had to be protected.
-
And just what little bit he saw.
-
It turned his face glowing.
-
He's so bright that the children of Israel said it will put a veil over your face.
-
We're afraid, right, we're afraid to be around you.
-
You've been with God and here we are.
-
We can have him live on the inside of us, and not only that, every born-again believer has that but we can have a Subsequent experience that I want to lay my hands on you To receive.
-
I Want you to receive.
-
Yeah, it's something you have.
-
You have to ask for in your receipt.
-
I'm gonna lead you in a prayer in a moment and lay hands on you and you'll receive and you'll speak in other tongues.
-
You'll be changed.
-
I'm telling you I've been changed forever.
-
It took me about 30 days to find out about the baptism after I got saved.
-
Took my whole life to find out about how to get saved.
-
Thank God, he found me.
-
I was lost.
-
He found me.
-
I didn't find him.
-
But, boy, when I heard about the baptism, I said I want that, I need that and I got it.
-
And if there's anything that changed my witness to People that I worked with, which are home builders mostly and people that I'd known a good while, drank with, sinned with, you know, and they see me all of a sudden change, and they see me all of a sudden talking about Jesus and they knew something that happened to me, or you with me.
-
So my witness became one with evidence.
-
That's the, that's the power of the Holy Ghost.
