  1. It's a good day to be in the house of the Lord, amen.

  2. It's always an honor to share the word.

  3. I don't take it lightly.

  4. You know I'm usually in the back, not in the back on the other side of the building with the teenagers.

  5. I'm the youth pastor here and so I'm back there with the teenagers and it's a joy to get to teach them the word of God.

  6. You know, us adults need the word of God, but how many of you know teams need the word of God?

  7. Amen, especially nowadays, is different growing up back in the 80s versus now, and so so again, it's an honor to share the word.

  8. Let's just start off and pray our Father, god.

  9. We just thank you, lord, for tonight.

  10. I thank you, father, that as I share your word, father, as I teach your word, that is not my words, but it's the Holy Spirit working in me, father, and I just thank you that our eyes are open, the eyes of our spirit are open to what you have to say.

  11. Our heart is a teachable and moldable, father.

  12. I thank you that as we listen, we listen for ourselves, not for somebody else, father.

  13. But I thank you, father, that you wanna see growth in your kids, and so I just thank you, father.

  14. As we learn your word, father, that we will grow in you.

  15. In Jesus' name, every say amen, amen.

  16. So before I get started I have a couple of mom quotes, of course.

  17. So just a couple.

  18. Number one stepping on a Lego land mine at 4.30 am while holding a baby and not falling should be an Olympic sport.

  19. That almost happened to me many times.

  20. Ethan was our oldest.

  21. Who's our drummer that played tonight.

  22. He was into Legos and we did our very best to clean those up.

  23. But how many of you know they're itty-bitty pieces and they get lost everywhere and many a times my toes felt the Legos.

  24. Bedtime is the leading cause of dehydration in children.

  25. I don't know if you knew that, but I just always told my kids hey, you know what you have between the hours of like you know when we wake up to go to school 7 am to 7 pm but you're really thirsty at like 11.

  26. You get out of bed and you're like mom, I'm thirsty, I wanna drink a water.

  27. You know, our oldest didn't do that very much, but Allison did.

  28. If at first you don't succeed, try doing it the way your mom told you to do it from the start.

  29. Just saying Motherhood is basically finding activities for children in three hour pockets of time for the rest of your life, right and so, anyway.

  30. So Psalm 127 says children are God's love gift.

  31. They are heaven's generous reward.

  32. So it's an honor to be a mom.

  33. So we just say happy Mother's Day to all the moms, all the grandmas.

  34. We love you guys here at Glorious Sweet Church.

  35. Amen, amen.

  36. Okay, so if you're taking notes, the title of my message is let's Get Along.

  37. I was going back and forth on all.

  38. Sometimes I do that when youth, like you know, I always try to have a title or a catchy phrase, or you know, and sometimes I put it in a question like can we get along?

  39. But it's just let's get along.

  40. You know the Bible has to say a lot about unity and being united, amen.

  41. And so I'll just share a couple of scriptures tonight on what the word of God says regarding that.

  42. So my first scripture is Psalm 133, one in the New King James says behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity, amen.

  43. God says it's good, right, behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

  44. And so God's saying hey, it's a good thing to be united, amen.

  45. In our relationships, in our marriage, in our supernatural relationships, when we come here to church, it's good to be on one page, on one accord, amen.

  46. Next scripture, first Corinthians, 110 in the amplified, says but I urge and entreat you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in perfect harmony and full agreement in what you say and that there be no dissensions or factions or divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions and judgments.

  47. And I wanted to read that in the message Bible.

  48. I have a serious concern to bring up with you.

  49. This is serious, serious matter right here.

  50. My friends, using the authority of Jesus, our master, I'll put it as urgently as I can.

  51. You must, it's not like maybe, it's not like if you want to, if it's convenient.

  52. You must Get along with each other.

  53. You must learn to be considerate of another, cultivating a life in Common.

  54. So here he's saying hey, you must get along with each other.

  55. We have this pastor has this, I'll say, slogan, but it's a, it's a phrase that God gave him love plus unity Equals miracles.

  56. And jay taught on that, I think it was last week or the week before, two weeks ago, but it's so important to be united, to be as one, we must Get along with each other.

  57. Amen.

  58. Matthew 12, 25.

  59. And the new king James Says but Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house Divided against itself will not stand.

  60. It's not like a maybe, it will not stand.

  61. So here he's saying hey, you know what we have to be united.

  62. Every kingdom divided against itself, every house divided against itself, cannot stand.

  63. You know, and youth, we have Zoe.

  64. Life is our, is our theme, theme and our theme.

  65. Scripture is John 1010.

  66. The enemy comes to steal, to kill and to destroy, but Jesus came that we may have a rich and a satisfying life, an abundant life.

  67. So the enemy, he's out to destroy.

  68. He's not just here to give you bad hair day right, or frizzy hair when it's pouring down In the morning, this morning, and your hair is for.

  69. No, the enemy wants to steal and to kill.

  70. Him to destroy you.

  71. But Jesus came, that we may have.

  72. He wants to divide.

  73. The enemy wants to divide families, right, but Jesus came that we may have a life that is rich, rich and a satisfying life, an abundant life.

  74. First, peter, 3, 7 and 8 in the new king James Says husbands likewise, dwell with them With understanding, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life.

  75. That your prayers may not be hindered.

  76. In verse 8.

  77. Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another, love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.

  78. So here he's saying, he's talking to the husband hey, dwell, Dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, being one, being one.

  79. It starts in the house.

  80. Yes, it's good to be united.

  81. We need to be united in this house, but we also need to be united in our homes, with the kids, with the teenagers.

  82. Someone nowadays, just everybody's just doing their own thing and they just kind of get together, maybe on the weekends, or you know, the bomb has a job, the dad has a job and the kids are all involved.

  83. And I'm not all about the kids being involved, because our kids were very involved Sometimes.

  84. You know, j would have to take Ethan to baseball and I would have to take Allison to piano lessons or volleyball, and so we were.

  85. He was there, I was over here.

  86. And.

  87. But we have to be united.

  88. So easy to be divided, it's so easy for everybody just to do their own thing.

  89. When God here clearly states in the Word of God that he wants us united, he wants us together, one accord, amen, amen.

  90. Colossians 3 14 in the new king James says but above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

  91. And then I'm gonna read it, verse 14 so in the message says be even tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense.

  92. Forgive as quickly and completely as the master forgave you, and regardless of what, what else you put on, where love, it's your basic, all-purpose garment, never be without it and so be here.

  93. He's saying be even tempered, Content with second place, quick to forgive an offense.

  94. You know, sometimes it's easy.

  95. The enemy, of course, wants you to be offended, he wants you to get hurt.

  96. He wants, like you know, look at them, they said it that way, or they looked at me that way, or this is it.

  97. And so he is the author of confusion, the enemy.

  98. And so sometimes we can get offended, but then also we can wear somebody.

  99. It's easy to wear somebody else's offense.

  100. So I have this little story that we went to.

  101. We usually get to go on Sundays.

  102. It's very busy, we don't go out to eat.

  103. I used to cook on Sundays crock pot.

  104. I need to get that back out, but I haven't done that in a little while.

  105. So like a month ago maybe, like four weeks ago, we went to Lupitorte or we got it to go.

  106. We called and like, okay, let's get Lupitorteas to go, so right by the house, we'll quickly pick it up and we'll take it home.

  107. And then we got it.

  108. We were there for a couple of hours and then we're back for because we have praise and worship early with the teenagers.

  109. And so we got it just quickly.

  110. And so Jay, he backed up.

  111. So the Lupitorteas like to go parking a spot.

  112. They're like itty bitty.

  113. And so we have a big truck and Jay's like, oh, I'll just back in.

  114. I'm like there's a cone right there.

  115. He drove over the cone, anyway.

  116. So we parked in the back.

  117. I was like park in the back, I'll go in, I'll grab the food.

  118. And so I walked in and so I'm right by the bar, right by the restrooms.

  119. It's loud.

  120. There's this lady there and she is just so obsessed.

  121. She's like I've been here for 30 minutes.

  122. I walk.

  123. You never know what you're gonna walk into Going anywhere, right, you always have to be on guard.

  124. You always have to wear, put your best garment of love on.

  125. So she was very upset.

  126. She was like I've been here 30 minutes and they haven't brought out my food.

  127. My daughter ordered it and it was just all this.

  128. And she was upset.

  129. She went on and on and she got the manager I'm gonna get the manager.

  130. And so she got the manager and then she tried talking to me, like when did you order your food?

  131. It's like, oh, just ordered it, you know what?

  132. 15 minutes ago, and not a big deal.

  133. I was chill, I was not gonna go there, I was not gonna.

  134. She was offended, she was upset.

  135. And eventually she saw that I wasn't upset.

  136. She's like, well, yeah, I just got out of church.

  137. And then she's like I'm working on my patience and I just smiled, yeah, anyways.

  138. But so she got the manager and she's like, oh, I've been waiting and she spent.

  139. So she was like I've been waiting on my food for like 30 minutes and she was just, and she's been waiting on her food too, and she was like trying to drag.

  140. It was like, no, I'm good, I'm good, I'll wait, we're good.

  141. But somebody, when you know people, my point is like somebody else is offended, somebody else is mad, you know they're righteous cause and they're, and they're gonna drag you into it when, hey, sometimes she was like I'm cool, I'm not, I'm not taking that on right, it's not worth it, that's like the enemy's territory, right?

  142. So we should have patience right, just like the word says, right here.

  143. Be even tempered, quick to forgive an offense.

  144. Right.

  145. Forgive as quickly and completely as the master forgave you.

  146. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love.

  147. So we must wear it to be united to hey, let's get along.

  148. Not everybody will get along, not everybody will say the right thing, not everybody will give you the right look.

  149. But you know we can do our part.

  150. We wear love, we put it on.

  151. It's not naturally gonna come on right.

  152. We have to put it on on purpose.

  153. On purpose, we have to speak the word of God On purpose, we have to walk by love.

  154. On purpose, we have to do the right thing, amen.

  155. And then let's see Colossians 12 through 14.

  156. I wanted to read it in the Passion Translation because I thought it was really good.

  157. You are always and dearly loved by God.

  158. So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy.

  159. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others and be compassionate, showing kindness towards all.

  160. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others, tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another.

  161. In the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ.

  162. If you find fault with someone, release the same gift of forgiveness to them, for love is supreme.

  163. I like that.

  164. It made me think of supreme pizza.

  165. Love is supreme.

  166. It just did sorry.

  167. And must flow.

  168. Through each of these virtues, Love becomes the mark of true maturity.

  169. So true maturity is not I went to this college and I got this many degrees and I have this much money, and look at the way I walk and look at the way I dress and look at who are my friends and look at.

  170. That is not true maturity.

  171. It says here.

  172. Love becomes the mark of true maturity, and so God doesn't want us to remain baby Christians, right?

  173. So there's two kind of Christian, but there's two baby Christians One's who accepted Jesus as a personal Lord and savior one day, and then, like you, have Christians that have been Christians a long time but they act like babies.

  174. No, god doesn't want us to be baby Christians.

  175. Love becomes the mark of true maturity, amen.

  176. Psalm 101, and Jay was reading the passion translation this week.

  177. He was reading out loud at the house and he came by and never read it in the passion translation.

  178. I was like stop, I'm putting that in my notes.

  179. It was so good.

  180. Psalm 101.5,.

  181. My innermost circle will be, will only be, those who I know are pure and godly.

  182. They will be the only ones I allow to minister to me.

  183. And so I wanted to read to you Rick Renner's I've read from this before last day's survival guide and give me a quick moment when I find the page.

  184. Who we allow, you know keeping the peace, let's get along.

  185. You know Families, families that we gotta live with them.

  186. You know we get to, we get to right.

  187. But when Jay read that, that scripture this week my innermost circle it really brought me to, made me think of the.

  188. I had just read this.

  189. Who we allow With our relationships are so important.

  190. Who we allow you know what they say, what they think about opinions like.

  191. It's just so important.

  192. And so I'm gonna read Be patient with me please.

  193. Second Timothy 3 6 says Paul went on to say For of this sort are they which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse Less.

  194. The phrase of this sort refers to those who have a form of godliness but deny the power of authentic godliness.

  195. According to Paul, these end-time truth modifiers will attempt to creep into houses at the end of the age.

  196. The words creep into our translation of the Greek word and do know, which in the case means to dress in as a disguise by wrapping oneself in a garment, and and describes the stealth operation of one who wears a disguise to make himself or his message More appealing so he or it can gain access into people's private spaces.

  197. The word houses in this verse is a translation of the Greek word okoya Excuse me, I don't know if I'm saying these rights right which describes household homes or residences.

  198. This depicts An undercover operation to gain access into people's homes.

  199. In the years past, the idea of creeping into houses left many wondering what Paul meant.

  200. This is an example of how words once difficult to understand can mean so much more with the passing of time.

  201. From the vantage point of our present high-tech age, we see, the Holy Spirit was likely referring to the age of technology, when radio, television, cable systems and the internet create an environment that makes Creeping into houses very easy.

  202. For example, at the time I'm writing this chapter, there are approximately 4.33 billion people who are active internet users in the world.

  203. This means Approximately 57% of the world's population has access to the internet.

  204. Even those who live in remote places on the planet can tap into a seemingly limitless source of information and media through all kinds of devices, including computers, tablets and cell phones.

  205. This must be what the prophet Daniel alluded to when he said that knowledge shall be increased in the last days in Daniel 12.

  206. For, on one hand, we would all agree that this easy digital access to information has created wonderful possibilities.

  207. However, it has also opened the floodgates For nonsense to creep into houses, just as the Holy Spirit foretold in 2nd Timothy 3 6.

  208. Because of this non-stop infiltration of information, we must use caution Caution about what and who is channeled into our devices and into the privacy of our homes.

  209. Anyways, and then it just goes on.

  210. Do it is extremely important for you to know who is speaking the word of God to you through various media and coming into your home or your private spaces.

  211. Do you know what they really believe on topics that are non-negotiable to you?

  212. Don't wait until you are tainted, defiled or vexed in your soul to find out what they really Believe concerning basic doctrine and the moral absolutes of the Bible.

  213. And then he goes on to say just guard your ears and your eyes.

  214. And so that Verse made me think of, hey, our innermost circle.

  215. What innermost circle actually meant back in the day?

  216. A way different now, totally different.

  217. And Techno, hey, technology is great, but you have to watch it, and especially if you have teenagers or kids, or you have to.

  218. Again, I'm talking about being united, united, right.

  219. And so these things, these things that creep into our houses, you know what?

  220. What are your kids watching?

  221. What do you?

  222. What's on the television?

  223. What's going on?

  224. You know, is it?

  225. Is it Tearing us apart?

  226. And so we have to be vigilant, amen.

  227. So again, psalm 101, 5, my innermost circle will be only those who I know are pure and godly.

  228. They will be the only ones.

  229. I allow a minister to me, right, amen.

  230. And so we have to guard that.

  231. I have two slides that I quickly want to show on the screen.

  232. Back when we went to Believe it was supernatural leadership.

  233. With Mark Hankins, pastor Aaron was talking about unity and he put these up on the screen.

  234. I was like jotting him down and I want to share him with you because I thought they were really good.

  235. So I want to mention too and I'll wrap it up here unity killers and unity builders.

  236. So, unity killers let's.

  237. Let's go over the unity killers.

  238. First.

  239. I'm just gonna list them.

  240. Dishonesty so these are things that kill unity.

  241. Right, god talks.

  242. I just mentioned a couple of scriptures God mentions in the way, he's very clear about being united, being as one, one mind.

  243. And so unity killers.

  244. Dishonesty, dishonor, negative, hurtful words, loose lips, sink ships you've heard that, proverbs 18, 21,.

  245. Disrespectful, rude behavior, pride I'm always right.

  246. Right, you're wrong, I'm right.

  247. Negative, wrong, ungodly relationships.

  248. Always say to the teens hey, there's no neutral ground in your relationships.

  249. Right, those people are.

  250. Either your friend is either bringing you closer to God or they are taking you away.

  251. Right, and so there's no neutral ground, and so it's very important.

  252. You know who we're hanging with.

  253. Financial pressure and instability, lack of time together Right, everybody going their own way, doing their own thing, and then we just meet up, have dinner, go to bed.

  254. That, right.

  255. So lack of time together, or communication, selfishness, which is the root of marriage problems, and then sin sin always separates, and so those are.

  256. Unity, those are just some of the unity killers.

  257. I'm sure there's many more, but those are the main ones, and so it's good to know those.

  258. It's good to know how the enemy creeps in right into the household and make sure we're.

  259. You know, we don't want that in our house and in our home, so let's go to the next slide.

  260. Okay, and then these are the unity builders.

  261. Unity builders honesty tell the truth, right, we say that to the little ones, but the big ones need to hear that we need to do that as well.

  262. Tell the truth.

  263. Humility, repent.

  264. Hey, I messed up.

  265. Hey, it's not all about me.

  266. Purity, living a godly lifestyle, and what we say, what we do, what we think, what our conversations, what you know, what we're saying to each other, always just above, you know, living a godly lifestyle, put in the word number one, priority, making time for the relationship to flourish, right.

  267. So God sends us these supernatural relationships, or, you know, even with your kids, like asking, like little, simple, little things.

  268. Like ask how'd your day go?

  269. And you know, show me your work, what's going on Like just communication, making time for that relationship to flourish.

  270. And it takes time, and again, when we don't have time, when everybody else has our time, but the ones who really need our time and should have our number one time don't.

  271. Again, the enemy wants to divide families, divide homes, and so we can't allow that.

  272. We have to make sure, you know, we make time for those relationships to flourish and focus on the things that really matter in life Family matters, right and encouraging and kind words, respectful behavior.

  273. And I with the hey, working with the teenagers I still I mean, justin and Rachel are back there now, but like we used to, we go over rules.

  274. Like for a while we got about you know rules and I saw some like stank attitude and I was like we're going to go back to rules and just encouraging them and showing them modeling respectful behavior, easy reliability, being consistent.

  275. You know, maybe Jay and I this year started just praying more together, reading the Bible more together, having a plan of like this is what we're doing we're having the devotional every day and we're reading together and we're doing marriage things together.

  276. So all of that.

  277. If you're never, you know again, unity, you have to be consistent with it.

  278. You can't just be like, oh, it was New Years and you know I wanted to work out and I wanted to read my Bible more, but here it is and like I'm A and you know, no, be consistent with the things that matter, amen.

  279. Flexibility agree to disagree sometimes.

  280. Yes, we agree to disagree sometimes.

  281. Right, focus on, don't focus on the minor things like hey, like just let you know major, like the big things, yeah, but like hey, does it really matter?

  282. Do I need to bring that up?

  283. Like do I need to talk about the dishes again?

  284. It doesn't matter, I'll just do the dishes gladly, it's not a big deal.

  285. Or I'll take out the trash.

  286. It's an honor to get to take out the trash.

  287. It's an honor to you know, pay monthly that they can take our trash, because we would have trash buildup in the backyard.

  288. That wouldn't be good.

  289. So, being flexible, positive relationships and inner circle just what I talked about, our inner circle it matters who you allow in your life.

  290. It matters what you're listening to.

  291. It matters it's not an again with all the worldwide web and we, you know, listen like you got to be careful with that Just because you knew so and so from back in 1988, doesn't mean, like you got to, hey, I remember, no, cut those relationships off, right.

  292. So you have to build the relationships that God has placed in your life, amen.

  293. And so inner circle, that's really important.

  294. And then forgiveness you have to budget for forgiveness, right, we've been forgiven, and so we bestow that on others.

  295. We forgive because that's how, that's how our prayers are heard.

  296. And so we can't just hold this bitterness and hold all this and then pray to God and expect God to hear us.

  297. Well, we're, you know, have this bitterness in our heart.

  298. No, we got to let it go, we got to just let it go.

  299. Amen, amen.

  300. And I wrote this down Offense is a moment, offended as a decision, right.

  301. So you may, offense was there, but staying offended is a decision.

  302. And so God clearly states hey, he doesn't want us to be offended, he wants us to be united, amen.

  303. So love plus unity equals miracles.

  304. I hope that blessed you guys, amen.

  305. So it blessed me looking up these scriptures and being united.

  306. You know, let's get along, amen.
