Turning Things Around 2

Let's lift our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad the devil may have.

Say this together, say, heavenly Father, I'm glad to be here today.

I'm so glad that it's back to school.

Our kids are gonna go off and learn more things, but I'm a member of the school of the spirit.

Class never adjourns.

I'm in class this morning.

I have need to know you better and better.

I'm coming up higher.

I'm seeing things the way you see them and, most importantly, I'm seeing the things that you say In Jesus' name.

Amen, praise God, turning your Bibles first of all to Romans, chapter four, and we'll read our foundation scripture.

I'm bringing a message, a second one on turning things around and if you weren't here last week, be sure and get the media on that so you can catch up.

Romans, the fourth chapter, and then first Corinthians, chapter one.

I'll go with Romans four first.

This is talking about Abraham and how God named him a new name.

He was Abram and he became Abraham, verse 16,.

Therefore, it is a faith that it might be by grace, that to the end or for the purpose that the promise might be sure to all the seed.

You know we're the seed of Abraham and the promises have been made.

But there has to be our side.

We've got to make it sure.

In other words, we've got to actually have that thing that was promised.

So this is a secret right here.

The secret to having the promise come to pass in my life is this that not only that which is the law, of course, that's talking about the Jews but also that which is the faith of Abraham, who's the father of us all.

He's talking to Christians.

As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations before him, or like unto him.

My margin says like unto God.

See, abraham was like unto God, whom he believed, who quickeneth the dead and calleth the things that be not as though they were.

God calls the things that be not as though they were.

When he named Abraham, was Abraham the father of many nations?

Well, no, he wasn't.

He's a hundred years old.

He's past being able to have kids.

His wife certainly is, but she never had been able to have kids anyway.

She was barren anyway.

Now she's 90.

Here God is named.

Okay, abram, your name is now father of many nations, and your wife's name is mother of all living.

Is mother of all living, princess.

Well, it wasn't really.

In the natural.

That couldn't be really right.

But God called the thing that be, not as though it were.

And it was three months later Isaac was conceived and he was a child of promise.

Okay, now that look over here a few pages to the right verse, corinthians, chapter one, verse 26.

For you see, your calling brethren.

How that not many wives been after the flesh.

Not many mighty, not many noble are called.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world that confound the wise.

He's chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things that are mighty and base things of the world and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yeah, and things which are not to bring to naught, things that are that no flesh, no flesh should glory in his presence.

But of him are you and Christ Jesus, who have.

God has made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption that, according as it is written, he that glory has.

Let him glory in the Lord.

So we're talking about turning things around.

Are there things in your life that need to turn around?

And my guess is there always.

Are there either?

Something needs to turn around right now, something needed to turn around back behind you, and you know we've had enough experience where we've seen God turn some things around.

One thing about it I was headed to hell and God turned things around and I got saved.

I mean, at least we got that, and it might seem like nothing has ever worked out, but if you're saved, something big, the most important thing, has already been worked out for you.

I talk about turning things around, I talk about heading south.

Then you were headed south, man.

South means down, or you know, there's something gonna happen that needs to turn around.

You hadn't hit there yet, but it's about that.

But don't say that.

Well, jesus said it, I didn't say it, jesus said it.

In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good courage.

I've overcome the world, you can too.

You don't have to put up with things going in the direction.

You can turn them around.

I mean, what is it that needs to turn around?

Finances?

A lot of people's finances need to turn around right now.

We've got to get out of the bydonomics and get into God's economics.

Godonomics is a whole.

It trumps bydonomics.

I'm sorry, I didn't plan on saying that, it just slipped out.

Only in America have a candidate that's been indicted four different times, impeached and everything I mean, you know, this guy's like the ever read the battery bunny.

I mean he just keeps on trucking, it doesn't seem to matter, he just keeps on going.

What has to turn around your finances, your health?

Things are going south in your health.

Relationships, sometimes relationships I mean you know, all good marriage suffer trouble.

You might be in a tough spot in your marriage.

Maybe things might be tough right now.

Well, you know, god can turn those things around.

I'm teaching you something that'll turn things around in your marriage, your relationships, maybe with your children.

There's a lot of differences now between the generations.

That's all by design, folks.

That's the anti Christ spirit at work to turn the fathers against the children, children against the fathers.

But God said in the last days he's going to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, the children of the fathers.

See, we're headed into that spot right now.

We turn this thing around.

Where do you get that?

Well, second, peter 1.3 said, according to me, as God's power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life in Godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue, I mean, god's power has given us this ability to turn things around, that's all things that pertain to your life and to your ministry.

Your life is really a ministry.

You don't need to start looking at your life, the life that you're living.

It's a life of ministry, or you wouldn't be living in the last of the last days.

People are looking at you.

They're looking at you that sideways.

Maybe they raised their eyebrows, maybe they rolled their eyes.

Maybe your kids rolled their eyes.

When you talk, give them a little space.

They'll become a day when they'll realize you're the smartest thing they've ever met.

Might take a while, but they're gonna come to that conclusion.

Why?

Because God's turning things around.

So here in verse 28 of 1 Corinthians 1,.

Let me just let me rephrase it a little bit clearer, because the King James can get a little confession.

One thing about it it says things there over and over.

God has chosen foolish things.

He's chosen the base things, despised things and things which are not to bring, the things that are things.

Well, the word things there can also mean people, it can also mean words.

So, literally, then, god has chosen the words that describe the things that are not manifest, that have not.

You know, god has chosen the things that are not yet manifest, the words that describe the things that are not yet manifest.

What's not yet manifest your healing, your ability to pay your bills, your solid, happy marriage, your great relationship with your children, on and on, anything that needs to change.

That's what hasn't shown up yet.

That's what you wanna see.

So he chooses words that describe that, to bring to naught, the words that describe what is going on right now.

Now, does that help you a little bit?

See, word.

Everybody say words.

I mean there's no change without some words being spoken.

You're not gonna hear this at First Baptist, you're not gonna hear this at the Presbyterian church, you're not gonna hear it at the Catholic church, you're not gonna hear this anywhere.

But a church like Glorious Way Church.

God told me I want you.

I gave me the name.

I said Lord, it's too long.

Glorious Way, it's hard to spell.

It's even hard to say God, come on, give me a better name.

How about just Glorious Way?

It speaks of the Word and the Spirit.

See, we need the Word and the Spirit.

The Word of Faith.

Revelation is the greatest thing I've ever known, and I'm never gonna stop preaching the Word of Faith, because that's the Word that Paul preached, that's the Word that Jesus preached, and I'm gonna prove it to you today.

It's all in the Bible and people that say the Word of Faith is a cult or it's wrong.

One guy that I was subscribing to his newsletter is $58 a year, I think.

I send him every year for about 15 years.

He's a Jewish guy that became saved and I was following him for Israel's sake.

He had a lot of things to say about Israel and I was interested and I still.

He got some good things, but he's stupid when it comes to the Word of Faith.

Because he called the Word of Faith error.

He called it false teaching.

Were you an idiot and I'm not paying you $59 ever again.

And I wrote him a hot email.

I rebuked him.

I said I better see.

You know he was criticizing some men of God that I love in print.

Well, how foolish are you?

You hadn't even read your Bible to do that.

You calling Kenneth Copeland a false teacher, are you nuts?

What have you done compared to him?

And I could go on.

He named some other names.

I mean, I got hot.

I don't believe Jesus is pleased with that kind of attitude.

You talk about somebody that needs to change their attitude.

Well, he's just stupid.

That's all he believes what he was talking.

Cemetery, I mean a cemetery, anyway, all right.

So God calls the things that be, not as though they were, say we've got to change what we're speaking.

And last week we talked a lot about internal dialogue.

Your brain is fearfully and wonderfully made.

God made your brain to function a certain way.

It's got electrical circuits in it.

It makes it easy for a thought to travel along this pathway in your mind, much like an eight track tape.

It just endless loop.

And the problem with that is, if you think like the world thinks, the world is programmed negatively.

The world is programmed to fear, the world is programmed to doubt.

The world is programmed that way, so it's leaking into the church, the way the world thinks is leaking into the church and the church members of the church think and they have fear in there, and it's going back and forth.

I just don't know.

I don't think I can do, oh, I don't think I can do.

I don't think I'm going to run out of money this month.

Oh, I don't have enough money to pay my bills.

Oh, I don't know whether, oh, I don't know if, I can pay my rent.

Oh, the rent has gone way up.

It's a bit of a bi-nomics.

Oh, I don't know the COVIDomics.

Yeah, covid and all of that.

It's all about design folks, every bit of it.

Oh, you're one of those conspiracies.

Yes, come on.

What does it take for you to wake up, little darling?

You're awake.

I keep you awake.

I, you know if you're asleep.

If you ever had the teacher throw a piece of chalk at you and hit you in class, that hurts you, kind of, doze off, wow, they don't do that anymore.

They get fired.

If they did that, it was assault and battery.

In my day the chalk was flying in the classroom, all right.

So so this, this loop, this endless loop, is going around.

You're going to have to interrupt that thought process.

You're going to have to get a hold of your thinking and change your thoughts, what you're constantly thinking about, because it's going to eventually come out your mouth and you're going to reinforce the trouble with your mouth, you see.

So if you're ever going to change anything, it has to start right up here in this, right in here, between these ears, right here, this brain tissue.

It's got to start right there, and you've got, and see, you've got the power to interrupt that.

God tells you what to think about whatsoever.

Things are good, whatever things are lovely, a virtuous, if there's any praise, if there's any virtue, think on these things.

You don't think about the trouble, trouble, the trouble or the possible trouble.

So and then when you start to speak, it's got to be more than one day.

You're not going to speak about something for a day and have it change, because the trouble you're in didn't happen overnight.

Most likely you contributed to it.

For real honest, you know the old adage I have met the devil and he is me.

Met the enemy and he is me.

Met the enemy.

That's what it was.

I have met the enemy and he is me.

Sometimes we're our own worst enemies because of our thinking and our mouth.

Devil doesn't have to do very much.

He just throws that thought Okay, that's taken.

Okay, let's go to the next.

One, throws another thought no, we've got to wake up and have a systematic discourse.

See Epo, lego, epo, mark 11, 23.

Three times the word say has said two different Greek words.

One means say, one means having a systematic discourse.

In other words, over and over.

The woman with the issue of blood had a systematic discourse.

Every step she took to go to Jesus she said if I just touch the hymns of garment, I shall be whole.

She kept saying I shall be whole, I shall be whole, I shall be whole.

By the time she got to Jesus, the power of God leaped out of him into her.

It came out of his garments.

Woo glory to God.

So we have some Bible examples today of these words that God chooses to turn things around for other people.

The first one I like to talk about is first King 17 and the prophet Elijah.

It's the first time we hear about Elijah, elijah the Tishbite, and God told him.

He said it's not gonna rain till go tell Ahab I'm pronouncing judgment on Israel because of their sin.

And to go tell Ahab, it's not gonna rain till you say so, that's pretty dangerous for the prophet to go to a king like Ahab.

But he did it.

And then of course, it dried up.

No rain, that means famine.

That means broke.

That means no food.

That means hard times.

It means by dynamics, america is suffering judgment, but we're not included in that.

The church should be separated from America, because the church is the church.

We have a covenant, america has one.

America has a covenant with God.

Mayflower Compact contains it.

The constitution ensures it.

Declaration of Independence talks about it.

And what have we done?

Well, in God we trust.

We said we were lining things up with God's word.

We didn't do it.

We haven't done it.

So the nation's under judgment.

It's time for the church to rise up and inform the rest of the country what our roots are.

And that's what we're doing.

What we're doing, okay.

So God said okay, go to the brook.

I've commanded the ravens to feed you there.

And you imagine, depending on birds to feed you.

But he did the birds twice a day.

Bread and flesh, sloppy joes, twice a day, twice a day.

Where did they get the meat?

I don't know.

I don't want to know.

Was it roadkill?

I don't know.

I don't know what it was, until the brook dried up.

Can you imagine when the brook started drying up?

It's getting muddier and muddier, thicker and superior.

And then, finally, one day, god said okay, go to Zarephath.

I've commanded a widow woman to feed you there.

I'm a place called there.

See, there's a place called there.

There's not, you know glorious way.

Church is your place called there.

This is where you belong, right here, until God says different.

Anyway.

So he goes to Zarephath and he comes across this woman and he said you know how?

About some water?

Can you get me some water?

She says yeah, but I just want you to know, I'm gathering sticks, I'm gonna build a fire and I'm gonna bake a meal and die.

Now, whoever heard of starving to death after their last meal, say you don't die after you eat.

You have a long, long way to go before you're weak enough to die for starvation if you've eaten something.

So what was she gonna do?

She said I'm gonna kill my son and I'm gonna commit suicide.

What did I say?

That, what do you mean?

Implies that this is what man, this woman, needed to have a turnaround, and so did the prophet.

I mean God, said I've commanded a widow woman to feed you there.

Well, you know he.

She's not even she says the Lord, thy God, liveth.

So she's not even Jewish, she's not even a covenant woman, she's a Gentile.

God used Jesus, used this testimony in First King 17 as an example of the gospel to the poor.

In Luke, chapter four Made the Jews mad.

They got so mad after he.

He got three points of a five point sermon out before they tried to take him and throw him off the brow of the hill.

The first point of his sermon was this one right here.

This is an example of the gospel Good news.

Good news, lady.

Do as you said.

This is what he told her.

He said, yeah, go ahead and do what you do what you hadn't planned, but bake me a little cake first.

Can you imagine the headlines of the Houston Chronicle that they found out that a preacher who was taking advantage of some poor widow and telling her put me first, bake me a cake first, before you feed yourself, feed me first.

That's exactly what he did.

As he said thus, saith the Lord, the barrel of meals shall not waste, neither shall the crews of oil fail till God sends rain upon Israel.

Gave her a promise.

And here's this woman.

It's not even a covenant woman and she did as she was told.

She went in there and baked, fixed the last meal, but she reserved some of it first for him and put him first, and they both ate, all three of them ate.

For a whole year there wasn't an 18 wheeler of meal coming up.

There wasn't a tanker truck full of oil coming up Every time she went to cook.

She had to remember that promise.

She had to remember that word.

She had to overcome her fear of running out.

Are you with me now?

What did he do?

He used words.

What did he do?

He used words to bring the, not the thing that was oh, come on, lift your hands right now.

Glory to God.

You know people say well, where did God commander?

Through the prophet, I've commanded a widow woman through your lips to feed you there.

Can you imagine?

See, in the Old Testament the prophet was God, he stood for God.

Whatever you did to the prophet, you're doing to God.

Whatever you listen to the prophet, you listen to God.

Because they people were dead, spiritually dead.

They had no access to God except through the priest, the prophet and the king.

Are you getting anything out of this?

All right?

Second one so it's all through your Bible.

Just gonna give you a few.

I don't have time to give you all of them.

I'm gonna give you a few of them.

Here's one Elisha the prophet.

Second Kings, four and there was a great woman in Shunem who observed this man of God and she said Henry.

You know, I just believe.

I don't know if his name was Henry.

Her husband was old, old guy.

He said Henry, I don't know this is.

I perceive that this is a holy man of God that's coming around here.

I think we need to build us a room for him.

We need to furnish it with a bed and a table and a chair and a candlestick.

Let's start feeding the prophet when he's in town.

Let's make sure that we honor the prophet, the man of God.

I can perceive that this is a holy man of God that's coming to see us, that right there will preach.

There's so little honor for the man of God anymore.

Such skepticism, such open criticism sometimes, and some of them, you know, some of them are really not that holy men of God.

They're kind of pretenders.

But that doesn't mean that there aren't some that are worthy.

So he said you know, gahazai, what?

This lady's taking care of us.

She's feeding us.

I'm man.

That chicken fried steak is like your lights out.

What can we do for this woman?

Call her over here.

Would you like me to talk to the king for you?

No, I live among my own people.

Would you like this?

Would you like that?

She said, no, I don't see.

She didn't do anything to get something.

She was honoring the man of God, honoring God with her substance, and she didn't want anything in return.

And he said, gahazai, she didn't want anything.

He said well, she doesn't have a kid and her husband's old, oh, that's it, call her.

Have her come over here About this time next year you will embrace a son.

Woo, glory to God.

Come on.

She said, don't you mess with me.

Oh, you don't mess with me, preacher, don't you be saying that unless you mean it, don't you?

And I mean?

She backed up.

She did not like him touching that very raw nerve.

She didn't want to be trifled with, she didn't want to be mocked, she didn't want to have some false hope of having a child, because that was what she'd wanted all of her life.

But she didn't say so, it was unspoken, until the man of God got a revelation.

And that's exactly what happened she had a baby.

Oh, henry wasn't so old, after all, I guess If your name is Henry, I'm not talking about you, anyway.

So, but we know the story If we keep reading there.

Second Kings four.

The child died Two or three years old, coddler.

And so she laid the child on the prophet's bed and she quickly got a mule and told Henry I've got to go, I'll be back.

Oh, what's wrong.

What's wrong?

She said shalom, shalom, see, that's it shall be well.

The word well is shalom shalom.

See, the Jews would?

They don't just say shalom, they say shalom shalom.

Well, what did she do?

Well, she called the thing.

That being honest, so they were, though it was, she used a word that that was going to bring to naught her dead child Wonder, where she learned that, probably from entertaining the prophet.

I tell you, you know what you want some revelation.

You start honoring the man of God that's bringing that word.

You're going to get something more than if you criticize.

You can't criticize somebody and receive from them at the same time.

All right, so she gets on her donkey and she's riding to the prophet wherever he was, and he saw her coming.

Gaze, I get out there, find out what's wrong.

Ask her is it well with your husband, is it well with you, is it well with the child?

She Gaze.

I gets out there and says that, and she said it is well, shalom, shalom, oh, glory to God.

And so then he comes and runs and falls at the feet of the prophet.

Did I not tell you not to lie to me, not to deceive me?

He said, oh, leave her alone.

See, gaze, I was going to try to wrestle her away.

Get her away.

He said leave her alone.

Her soul is vexed with him and I don't know what's wrong.

God has hidden it from me.

God has not showed me, see.

I mean, the prophet didn't have.

He couldn't just turn on the spigot and fight.

He didn't know everything, he only knew what the Holy Ghost revealed.

Could it be that he wanted to exercise this wonderful testimony to prove to us the power of our words?

Because he knew the end from the beginning.

He knew that baby's going to be raised up.

It's a matter of time.

And he said and so he said, let's go at once.

He said here, it's the child.

You just listen.

Here's my staff, gaze.

I get over there, go ahead of us and lay the staff on the child's body.

Well, he did that.

It didn't work.

Gaze, I turned out to be kind of a rascal.

You find that out later.

That's one of my questions for God.

I mean, here's Elisha.

He had sown such good seed with Elijah and yet he had Gaze, which was kind of a not so good Round up with leprosy for his disobedience anyway.

So he gets there and he lays on the child and raises the child from the dead and said call her in here and let her take up her child.

Oh, glory to God.

She kept saying it is well, it is Shalom shalom.

Everybody says shalom shalom, shalom, shalom.

Instead of calling the prayer line, oh, are you prayer line?

Oh, calling somebody's prayer line, oh, you gotta have.

If some people have the idea that if more people are praying, the quicker the prayer, you see, you gotta grow up.

The answer's right here and the answer's right in between your ears.

Right here.

We have this power already.

It's not about begging God to do anything.

God's already done it all.

Are you getting anything out of this today?

All right, let's get over to what Jesus did here in Luke 17.

I've got several I could do.

I'm gonna pick this one out.

In Luke 17, 10 lepers came to see Jesus and they said master, have mercy on us.

10 lepers at one time, and it turned out nine Jews and one Samaritan.

The Samaritan doesn't have a covenant.

Samaritan is a mixed race person.

He's not Jewish, so he's not, doesn't have a covenant.

And so Jesus said go, show yourselves to the priests.

Now, what is that about?

Well, in Leviticus, chapter 14, it tells you what all has to happen for a Jewish leper to get cleansed.

Leviticus 14 · chapter mention

If you think you're cleansed, you have to go and show yourself to the priest.

He goes through this whole process of scraping your skin and doing all this stuff and running all these tests.

It's all has to do an offering and all of that.

And the priest is the only one in Israel that can certify you as healed.

Otherwise you've got to say unclean, unclean.

Nobody can come near you and you've got to live in a separate place.

So in order for that to be lifted, those restrictions, you've got to go to the priest.

So he's in effect saying to the 10 lepers go act like you're healed.

Are y'all with me now?

Go act like you're healed.

And as they went, they were cleansed.

Oh, that means that when he spoke it, they were still leprous.

It was down the road, it was down.

We're always looking, for instance, but sometimes, as we go, they were cleansed.

And one of them, the Samaritan, has it turned out.

We're so overwhelmed.

He come running back to Jesus, fell at his feet and worshiped him and thanked him.

Thank you, jesus, thank you for healing me.

You don't talk about life changing.

Talk about turning things around.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Do your finances have leprosy?

Oh, I'm telling you, he's just amazing.

He's so, filled with gratitude, he said wait a minute.

Wait a minute.

Weren't 10 cleansed?

Where are the nine?

Is there no one to give me thanks, except this stranger Jesus is always stabbing the religious crowd right in the eye, you know, like the three stuges, you know, and Larry Curley and Moe.

He hits him in the eyes with both fingers, like this, you know.

And so go, act like you're healed.

See that one word nullified.

It brought to naught leprosy in 10 persons.

Oh, come on, lift your hands right now.

Well, yeah, but, pastor, that was Jesus.

Okay, I thought you'd say that.

Acts, chapter 14, paul is preaching in the regions of Derby and Lystra, and there Paul and Barnabas preached the gospel.

Acts 14 · chapter mention

It must have been something about healing.

The gospel is the full gospel.

It's not just how to get saved, it's about everything that Jesus bought and paid for.

He said the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he's an ordinary to preach to five kinds of people the broke, the brokenhearted, the blind, the bound and the bruised.

Five groups of people.

So the gospel is very inclusive.

We talk about inclusive, boy.

That's about as inclusive as you can get.

It covers all of the human condition in every detail.

We have good news.

And so there was a man that was lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.

Think about that.

Lame from his mother's womb Must have been a birth defect, we don't know.

It doesn't describe exactly.

In fact it uses the word cripple.

The word cripple is no longer used anymore.

It's like insensitive or something I just believe in the English language Somebody's cripple.

All this is stupid.

I'm not participating in the redoing of the English language and making everything evil that has ever been in it.

The Bible says cripple.

Somebody that can't walk is crippled, anyway.

So Paul was preaching and he fixed his eyes, not unlike Peter and John at the gate beautiful.

They fixed their eyes on this man at the gate beautiful who was lame, very similar.

He noticed this man sitting on the front row never had walked.

He's lame from his mother's womb.

We don't know whether he knew all that or not, but he just had faith.

He perceived that the man had faith in his heart to be healed.

He perceived it.

He didn't say the Holy Ghost showed him.

He didn't say the Holy Ghost told him.

He perceived.

There's a certain knowing.

You have a knowing.

We're not just servants, we're associates, we're participators in kingdom business.

God shows us things.

He knew that man had faith to be healed.

He lifted his voice, with a loud voice, he said stand upright on thy feet.

And the man leaped and walked.

In other words, do something you ain't never done.

And he did it.

Oh, come on, lift your hand right now.

What did he do?

He used words.

He didn't even lay hands on him.

He used words to pull the knock.

A birth defect.

Glory to God.

So, in order to turn things around, we have to say what God's word says about our situation and we have to say it with a systematic discourse and inconsistency.

You have to be consistent.

If you're really honest, you've probably been consistent about speaking some things you shouldn't speak.

We're human beings and sometimes we lapse over.

Instead of being new creatures, we get persuaded to move over into being mere men.

That's what he told in 1 Corinthians.

There, in chapter one or chapter three, he told the Corinthians.

He said you're so carnal, you're immature and you're living as mere men.

See, we're supposed to live as supernatural, new creations.

We ought to be speaking in line with the word.

We ought to be thinking in line with the word.

Amen, all right.

So, turning things around, call those things that you desire.

Have you ever had a stray cat come up on your front porch?

Now, if you're a cat person, you'd be tempted to put some milk out.

And then, all of a sudden, now that cat is your cat, and I know people like that that they just collect cats.

I'm not one of those.

I have one cat.

It's a jaguar.

It's a mean, a very mean cat.

I'm gonna mess with that cat.

You better have all ears and eyes open when you get behind the wheel of it, but anyway, no.

So where you've got the cat on your front porch, what are you gonna do?

Get out of here.

Have you ever had a cat do what you told it to do?

See, I've never encountered a cat that was obedient.

You don't have a trained cat.

This is my trained cat.

There aren't any trained cats.

They do exactly what they want to do.

When they want to do it, that's it.

They have their own way, that's all.

If you're a cat person, you know I'm not one, but if you are, well, you know that's true, and so so what do you do to get rid of the cat?

We'll call the dog Butch.

Come on, butch, come on.

But when but shows up, it's bulldog.

When, but shows up, boom, the cat's gone.

Say one word, put the knot.

The thing that was See, that's all it is.

I mean you call what you desire and the bad thing has to leave.

Call healing and sickness goes.

Call strength and weakness goes Amen.

So we're talking about this internal dialogue and you know, right now there's a lot of fear.

Fear has gripped this entire world since before COVID, but especially during COVID.

I mean they, they made everybody wear the fear on their face.

It still irritates me to see people wearing masks.

I get so irritated I think, godly, I wish they came to Glorious Way Church, we'd ripped that mask right off.

No, we wouldn't, we'd let them wear it.

But they, they'd feel.

I mean, they look around, people do they look around, they go.

Oh, okay, all right, I'll take it off.

It's not about the mask, it's about the fear.

And so you know, there's all you know.

The fear of death is, is the basis of all fear.

But people have different fear.

They have fear of rejection.

Oh, I don't know if I.

I don't think I could apply for that job.

I just don't think they would.

I don't think they would hire.

See, fear of rejection.

You're afraid to approach someone maybe be, have a friendly gesture.

Well, and I don't know if they'll like me, see fear of rejection.

Sometimes, if you've been, if you've been beat up in life, sometimes you have that fear of rejection and you just want to close yourself in and have your own little world.

That's, that's fear.

First, second, timothy, one seven God didn't give you a spirit of fear or spirit of timidity, but of power and love and a sound mind.

I, like the amplified says, a calm and well balanced mind with discipline and self control.

Is your mind just wildly going off of all these negative things?

You know, God didn't give you that kind of a mind.

He gave you a mind, a calm and well balanced mind.

The fear of running out, the fear of not having enough money to pay your bills, it's real Rents going up, houses are going up, oh, I just I fear, fear, fear, fear of injury, fear of driving.

I had a woman one time that wouldn't drive at night and she was a young woman.

I said that's the devil.

The devil's trying to keep you from having a normal life.

You live in Houston.

You're going to have to drive at night sometime.

You're going to have to drive on the freeway If you're going to get anywhere.

I can understand if you're, you know, got eyesight problems or hearing problems.

You may be elderly okay, it's time maybe to hang it up Okay, got that.

But if you're young and vibrant, you have no business obeying that fear.

You need to get rid of that fear.

I don't know who that's for.

I cast a devil out of her and she started driving at night.

Are you with me now?

So, second Timothy, one seven, god's not giving me a spirit of fear of a power, love and a sound mind, well balanced and calm, and well balanced mind, discipline, self control he gave to me.

I had to use that verse all night long, starting the night after my open heart surgery five and a half years ago.

I couldn't, I couldn't sleep.

Every time I'd fall asleep and I was so ready to sleep, I needed to sleep.

I all plugged in with all these wires and, you know, got IVs everywhere, blood pressure cuffs at every 15 minutes, gripping my arm.

I was like that and you know, you just heard everywhere I couldn't sleep.

And then you get sleep deprived and you find out sleep deprivation is a way of torture.

That's how they get information out of it.

They deprive them of sleep.

I was one, and every time I'd nod off I'd wake up with a start, I'd nod off and wake up with a start.

And it got to be such a fear, it got to be such a oppression.

It was just meant.

It wasn't a demon, it's just.

My mind is scrambled eggs.

But I laid there and I said you get it all night long.

They tried to put the CPAP on me, didn't do a thing.

If it helps, you find great, but it wouldn't.

I mean, I got no sleep, but I did all night long.

Well, thank God you haven't given me a spirit of fear, but a power and love and a calm and well balanced mind, disciplined, self control, all night long.

Well, did anything change?

Nothing changed.

It didn't really fully change for me.

It didn't change for about two or three weeks after I got home, where I could really sleep normally.

But I stuck with my confession.

You know, don't be worried about how long it takes, I mean.

You know.

I mean, when I look back on what my body went through, what they did to me to keep me alive, you know I just have to praise God that I'm alive.

So what?

It's just a little ripple in your whole life.

So what it's gonna end, it's gonna turn around in your favor.

You'll stick with your confession, praise God, all right.

And then, of course, there's this doubt, that endless loop of doubt.

Well, I just can't.

Well, I, you know, I don't, I don't, I just don't, I'm not ever gonna be able to afford a house, I'm not ever gonna be able to afford a new car.

I'm not, I'm not, I can't, I don't Say negative.

You've exed yourself out.

This is this negative.

This is the world creeping into your thinking identified.

So, uh-uh, no, no.

The Bible says 1 John 4, the greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world.

I have the Holy Ghost living on the inside of me.

I can do all things through Christ that you strengthen with me.

Philippians 413.

He helps me in all of the affairs of life.

He gives me the way of escape, he gives me the strategies that I need.

Praise God, my God, my Father, always takes care of me in grand style.

I like that, that interpretation.

My God supplies all my need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus.

What need is that?

Every need.

Every mental need, every financial need, every health need, every need, every social need, every emotional, every need.

What need have you got?

He's a supplier of it.

Are you with me now?

So I think about Brother Osteen, tells the story on himself.

I appreciate men of God that just tell stories on themselves.

Brother Osteen, back in the early days of Lakewood, he had just moved back there and he was gonna have a fundraiser barbecue and Brother RW Smith is one of his deacons, angela and RW.

Angela would always come up to me or not always, but several times, come up to me after a service and encourage me and just tell me what a blessing I was to the church and all of that kind of thing.

She was just a school teacher and of course her husband, rw, was one of Brother Osteen's deacons, I think from the Baptist church, and they were just fine people.

He was in charge of the barbecue.

So they were gonna have this barbecue and they were believing for two calves to barbecue the meat they believed in for the meat to be supplied so that they could maximize the fundraise cell plates of barbecue and raise money for the new building or whatever it was that they were building fun.

And so it got close to the time, close to the time and still no meat.

Nobody had showed up and it was just a few days and time is clicking on down and finally Brother Osteen called.

Brother RW, said Al, I said you know that meat hadn't come in.

I think you better just go ahead and go to the store and buy the meat.

And so he did.

He went to the store, bought all the meat that they needed to barbecue, and of course that's gonna reduce the amount of fundraising.

You know they gotta buy the meat now instead of the meat being supplied.

They'd all prayed and believed.

You know they didn't get it.

It hadn't shown up.

And so that night Brother Osteen has a dream, has a dream, and in the dream he comes up and he sees this cow and he was like it was a cow, but it was a mean cow.

It was a mean looking cow and it had this calf and it ate the calf.

And there were two of those in the dream, two ugly mean looking cows that ate two calves.

And when, after they ate them, you could see the outline of the calf inside those mean cows, it was just like a cartoon.

And he woke up and the Holy Ghost said I just want you to know that you let the devil steal your calves.

He gave up too soon.

See, sometimes we just think, oh, it's not gonna happen.

It's not gonna happen.

Stick with it, keep speaking right, keep thinking right.

Turn things around, come on, lift your hands and receive it.

Glory to God, hallelujah, hallelujah, glory to God.

Everybody say I'm turning things around in my life.
