Stick With Wisdom & It Will Stick With You

It's an honor to bring the word.

You know, the word of God works when we put it to work, and so let's start out in prayer before we get into the word.

Father.

We just thank you, lord, for tonight, father, we open our hearts to your word and our ears are open to what the Holy Spirit is saying.

Tonight, father, we just thank you that it is not by our might or not by our power, but it's through you, father, that we do mighty works.

Father, it's not in the natural we we, it's not in our natural mind, but it's in the supernatural, father, where we do your mighty works.

And so we just thank you, father, that you gave us your very best when you gave us Jesus Christ.

So we just grab ahold of your word tonight in Jesus' name, amen, amen.

So the title of my message tonight is stick with wisdom and it will stick with you.

Let me say that again stick with wisdom and it will stick with you.

So I'll be teaching on wisdom.

The first scripture is Proverbs four, six, and the passion translation says stick with wisdom and she will stick to you, protecting you throughout your days.

She will rescue all those who passionately listen to her voice.

And so my question to you is who, whose voice are you listening to?

Wisdom?

Here the scripture says wisdom has a voice, and so it's saying hello, I'm wisdom, I have a voice.

And so you know, king Solomon was the richest man who ever lived, and so he, the Lord, came him in a dream and he could have asked for anything.

He's like what do you want, king Solomon?

He could ask for anything, and he asked for wisdom.

How can I lead your people?

Well, and so wisdom is an important thing.

Wisdom, we need wisdom here.

It says in Proverbs four if we stick with wisdom right, and she will stick to you, protecting you throughout your days, and so it's very important in life when we make choices you know, I Google that today like why decisions, how many?

How many decisions you know as a person A day?

And Google said every day we have about 35,000 decisions we make.

Like how does somebody know how many you know decision?

How do they come up with that?

But 35,000, that's a lot, and how many of those are those are wise decisions.

You know we have a lot of decisions that we make throughout life, and so we want to make choices, blessing choices, right Life choices that are good, that'll benefit the kingdom of God.

And it's up to us.

God gave us a free will.

You know we can choose life.

For death Blessings are cursing.

So you know, choose life.

And so it's up to us the choices that we make.

You know, if we're going to allow God to.

You know pastors have been talking about cooperating with the Holy Spirit.

You know it is up to us.

Are we cooperating?

Are we cooperating with the Holy Spirit?

Are we cooperating with the Word of God?

Are we cooperating with His Spirit and with His Word and what His plan is for our lives, or are we cooperating with the devil?

He has a plan too, and so wisdom.

We have to stick with wisdom.

It'll guard us, it'll protect us.

Ephesians 5.15 in the Good News translation.

Ephesians 5.15 says so be careful how you live.

Don't live like ignorant people, but like wise people.

Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days.

Now, if he wrote that back then, how much more now, right, don't be fools then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.

So let me read that again so be careful how you live.

So he's saying watch out how you live, don't live like ignorant people, but, like wise people, make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days.

Don't be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.

So live with wisdom.

Right, you know, I wrote this down.

Make decisions today with tomorrow in mind, right, and so our decisions, you know.

In the moment, you know a lot of times, like if we see a, you know we go to the car lot or we drive by you know nice, shiny, brand new cars and you go get nothing wrong with getting a new car.

God wants us to be blessed, right.

But you know, or you make an impulse purchase and then you're stuck with, like, a high payment.

And was that a wise decision?

Was that a God decision?

If you can, if you have the money to pay for it, yeah, that's good.

But if you're going to go in debt over that shiny new car, maybe not a wise decision.

And so you down Все the way you go.

Wisdom again, god.

We have godly wisdom, but it's up to us, you know, not to live as ignorant people, but wise using wisdom.

Let's see, one pastor said don't make a permanent decision based on a temporary feeling.

When emotion is high, wisdom is low.

Let me say that again Don't make a permanent decision based on a temporary feeling.

Right, we have feelings.

God gave us feelings sad, mad, upset, happy, you know but we're not led by those feelings.

Feelings come, but our decision, our choices in life aren't.

We.

Don't make those choices based on an emotion.

Right.

When emotion is high, you know, when you're upset, you you got to offend him.

This, this emotion that's on you is high.

Wisdom is low because you're being led by your emotions instead of being led by the word of God, which is full of wisdom, right.

And so we have to make sure that we are being led by wisdom, godly wisdom.

And Proverbs four like if you just I don't want to throw away all the Bible, but if you, if you just did Proverbs four through six, those three chapters, like that covers almost everything.

I mean, there is so much wisdom packed in Proverbs Like if we just do that, we would be good, we would be set.

Proverbs four, five and the new living translation says get wisdom, develop good judgment, don't forget my words or turn away from them.

And then, if you go further down in verse 20 through 22, my child, pay attention to what I say, listen carefully to my words, don't lose sight of them.

Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them and healing to their whole body.

And so here he's saying hey, get wisdom, develop good judgment, don't forget.

If he's saying hey, don't forget my words, that means you can easily.

There's a chance that you can forget your, his words.

And so you know it's up to us on the daily.

Are we reading our Bibles?

Are we digging into the word?

Are we praying much in the Holy Spirit?

Are we digging time out of you know whether you're a morning person or a night person?

Are you digging into the word and finding that treasure?

The Bible is the treasure.

It's not hidden from us, but for us, and so we have to dig into the word and find it.

It's full of wisdom, and so it's up to us to seek him and to seek his word.

Proverbs two, six and the CV says all wisdom, everybody say all wisdom, all wisdom comes from the Lord, and so so does common sense and understanding.

All wisdom, all wisdom comes from the Lord, and so does common sense and understanding that good.

Proverbs four, seven and the new King James says wisdom is the principal thing.

Therefore, get it Again.

God is telling us to get something.

So we better get wisdom, and in all you're getting, get understanding, not good.

Proverbs 16, 16 and the new King James how much better to get wisdom than gold.

And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

When I read that scripture, I thought of you know, I've seen on TV just the lottery store.

I haven't watched those in a long time.

But you know the people who win the lottery.

You know they're millionaires, billionaires, have mega millions.

And then you see these stories on TV like all their money is gone, like what did you family people come out of the woodwork?

Oh, you know, second cousin wants removed, you know great uncle and this and that, and they give all their money away or they waste it away.

And they had the opportunity to invest and to do something with that money, right, and so it's not money, it's not.

It's not money, it's not.

That's not the issue, right, it's wisdom.

They weren't wise with their money, right?

And so God here is saying get wisdom, get understanding, don't forget it, don't leave it on the table.

Get it, it's available to you.

You know the good news.

This is a good news message it's wisdom's available for your situation, whatever you're going through.

You can find it in the word healing Get wisdom about that.

Marriage problems Get wisdom about that.

Friendship problems Get wisdom about that.

Business maybe having problems in finances business there's wisdom about that, we get it.

God's saying here get wisdom and get understanding In life.

We have to make sure to get wisdom, that we have wisdom, you know, about whatever Situation or area in life.

Or maybe we're struggling in, or or we don't see the victory, and there's wisdom.

It's a good thing, there's wisdom available.

And so here the Lord saying get wisdom, it's so much better than gold.

Proverbs 3, 14 through 18 in the new King James says For her proceeds are better than the prophets of silver and her gain than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

Talking about wisdom.

Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand.

Riches and Honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, in all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who Retain her.

And so here it's saying hey, wisdom it'll get.

It'll bring you long life.

Sometimes life is cut short, not because of God, but because of foolishness, but because of walking in the flesh, because of doing your own thing, because of sinning.

You know, last time I talked, I talked about being deceived and Ways that believers get deceived.

Oh, I'm not deceived.

No, you're deceived.

You just don't think you're deceived.

Hello, like here, wisdom.

Get wisdom about the situation.

Don't just get wisdom when everything's fine and didn't know it all throughout life.

Forget wisdom.

It's better than silver, it's better than than rubies.

Length of days Wisdom is taught isn't correlation with the length of days is in her right hand.

I don't want to do that.

God's telling you to do something right.

Holy Ghost is turning on the inside of you.

I don't know, I don't.

I don't want to get the mic.

I don't want to do that.

I don't want to go say something to that person.

No, hey, listen you better.

We have to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

That is wisdom, right, and so we have to make sure Our life isn't cut short.

We can't blame God for foolishness.

We, we shouldn't, we shouldn't blame God for foolishness, foolish decisions.

God wants us to make wise decisions, amen.

All wisdom comes from the Lord.

James 1, 5, actually before that.

Proverbs 13, 20.

One area to be wise is and your friends, show me your friends and I'll show you your future Right?

So are we being salt and light?

Who we're hanging with, right?

Who are associations, who are supernatural?

I believe in supernatural relationships.

You know somebody's either bringing you closer to God or taking you away.

Are they gossiping in your ear, are they murmuring, are they complaining, are they taking you away from church?

And so you have.

You need wisdom.

And who you're hanging with.

Again, all wisdom comes from the Lord.

James 1 5 in the new King James says if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.

Good news.

We can ask, we can ask of it.

God, give me wisdom about this situation.

You show me, show me how to be, you know, a good husband, a good wife.

Show me how to be a good sister, a godly sister.

Show me how to be a godly daughter.

Show me how to to proclaim your word, you know, in a situation or with a family member.

Show me the wisdom and what to say.

You know he'll show us.

Or show me what, which doctor to go to you know.

So it's, it's important.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him.

James 1 5.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all, liberally and without reproach.

God wants to give us wisdom.

He's not keeping it from us.

He's not like I'm gonna give you wisdom and then you, you're gonna be dumb.

No, he wants to give us wisdom.

There is wisdom Available for us, there is wisdom available for you, and so if we ask him, he gives it to us without reproach and it will be given to him.

So we have to.

You know, some people aren't self-aware, maybe that they're lacking wisdom.

Oh, I know I'm, I'm, I'm good, I'm yeah.

Well, that's a whole nother message about self-awareness.

And you know I don't, I don't need wisdom.

No, well, the fruit, right, if you are, we should be growing in the things of God, and so if you're not Bearing fruit godly fruit you know you might need wisdom in that situation.

You might need wisdom on how to walk in love, how to say things nicely.

You know just your approach in life.

And so, god, we can ask him, and he freely gives it to us.

Proverbs 4, 23 to through 27 in the message Says keep vigil and watch over your heart.

That's where life starts.

So this is another wisdom nugget right here about our heart.

Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth.

Avoid careless banter, white lies and gossip.

Keep your eyes.

This is wisdom.

Wisdom says keep your eyes straight ahead.

People talking over here.

There's temptation over here, there's someone.

Social media over here.

God's name, the word proverbs not me, I'm not making this up Proverbs four, right, 23 to 27,.

It says keep your eyes straight ahead.

Ignore all sideshow distractions.

And boy, are there some sideshow distractions.

It says to avoid them, don't look over here, don't look over there, but look straight ahead.

God, what do you have for me?

What do you have straight ahead for me?

Watch your step and the road will stretch out smooth before you.

Look neither to the right nor left.

Leave evil in the dust.

Isn't that good?

So wisdom says hey, ignore.

You're gonna have to ignore some things To be full of wisdom, to have godly wisdom, to walk in the wisdom that comes from him.

Right, because that's true wisdom, not worldly wisdom, true wisdom that comes from him.

You're gonna have to ignore some things in life.

You might have to ignore some people that are bringing you down.

You have to ignore sin.

You're gonna have to say no to some things.

You get to say no, you shouldn't.

Even that should not be difficult for you If you were born again, child of God, on fire for God.

It should not be difficult.

Ignore it, right?

Wisdom says, hey, look straight ahead, watch your step.

And so we don't look at what so and so is doing and how they're running their race and what, and look at them.

You don't know about them, you don't know what goes on behind closed doors, right.

And so we here, he's saying to keep vigilant, watch over our heart.

So that's where life starts.

And so I mean my notes I put people keep their education diligently at the expense of their heart, right.

And so people swap that scripture.

Or people keep money diligently I'm gonna hold on to money at the expense of their heart.

Well, I'm not gonna marry, so.

And so they don't have much money.

Or I'm gonna go to that college because maybe in the long haul it'll make me more money, and that's a four year college, university, that.

But God, where do you want me to be?

What is your heart saying?

What is your spirit saying?

Are we cooperating with the Holy Spirit?

People keep their pride diligently, right.

But if we swap it around, just like the word say, if you keep your heart right, money will be easy.

If you keep your heart right, humility will be easy right.

If you keep your heart right, you won't fall.

And so we have to make sure to be tenderhearted.

The word of the word says hey, remain tenderhearted.

Tenderhearted people want to do the will of the Father.

They don't wanna do their own thing and we have to every day.

It's a tenderhearted right.

We have to remain tenderhearted.

So a couple of things that wisdom does.

It preserves you, it promotes you.

You can put these in the comments if you want.

It preserves, it promotes.

You.

Don't even have to do self-promotion.

You don't have to be like here I am, I showed up, I'm the me, hear me out, talk, talk, talk.

I'm here.

Now the party can start, I'm promoting myself.

No, god will promote you.

You don't do self-promotion.

Nobody wants to see that.

Wisdom promotes you.

Godly wisdom promotes you.

When you submit to it and when you say yes to Godly wisdom, it'll promote you, right?

You don't have to come up with your own ideas and you don't have to shove it and force it and no, just pretty much in the Holy Ghost, god will promote you.

You don't have to be like well, they got, they got called out or I didn't get called out or they no, listen, listen, that's not wisdom.

Wisdom preserves you, wisdom promotes you.

Wisdom brings you honor.

When you hold on to wisdom, it'll bring you honor.

It places grace on your head.

It crowns you with glory.

Wisdom does Not you, me myself and I right, that's the counterfeit of the Trinity Father, son and Holy Ghost, me, myself and I.

Hmm, no, wisdom adds many years to your life, many years.

If you pursue wisdom, if you say yes to wisdom.

Right Proverbs, you know you can read the whole book of Proverbs in a month, right Today, august 30th, read Proverbs 30, september one read Proverbs one.

Wisdom protects your steps from being hindered.

These are all in the Word of God.

Wisdom will protect your steps from being hindered, but some of the times we just do what we want when we want.

How is it?

How we want?

Say what we want.

No, wisdom is what I'm about to say gonna glorify God.

Is it full of wisdom or do you sound dumb?

Listen, without God we are, but with God he makes us a genius, and so we have to make sure to grab ahold of wisdom.

So it protects your steps from being hindered.

You will run and not stumble.

So, again, it preserves, it promotes, it, brings you honor, it places grace on your head, it crowns you with glory, adds many years to your life, protects your steps from being hindered.

You will run and not stumble.

And so he's given us, you know, these benefits of when we take ahold of wisdom.

It protects, it promotes long life, and so we have to make sure to go get wisdom.

And then, just my last scripture is Romans 8, 14.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.

And so, you know, pastors have been preaching about cooperating with the Holy Spirit, and we have to make sure we are led by the Holy Spirit.

We can't be led by people's opinion, we can't be led by what the media is saying about this and that and that's gonna come again and that.

No, listen, we have to be led by the Holy Spirit, who is wise?

He is wise, and Jesus was wise when he was young.

He grew in stature and wisdom, and we can grow, you know, in wisdom, but we have to do our part.

So I just wanna encourage you.

Whatever you're facing, there's no such thing, as you know.

Oh, there's no hope.

There's, you know.

No, I can't make no.

No, listen, god's given you the Holy Spirit.

He didn't leave us as orphans, but he gave us the Holy Spirit who's full of wisdom.

And we have wisdom, but we have to make sure to grab ahold of it.

So I just wanna encourage you grab ahold of wisdom, whatever you're facing today.

You are wise God with Godly wisdom.

Dig into the Word and find out what he says.

Find out His benefits With long life.

He will satisfy us, but we have to grab ahold of it.

We can't just be doing our thing and expect God's benefits to fall upon us.

It doesn't work that way, right?

Yes, now, yes, this was written before Jesus died on the cross, and thank God for grace and thank God for mercy and thank God for what the blood has done.

Listen, yes, thank God for all of that, but it doesn't mean that, hey, I'm gonna do what I want when I want, I'm gonna act foolishly, but the cross is there.

No, listen, we don't wanna frustrate the grace of God.

We wanna walk full of wisdom.

We wanna make sure our steps are ordered by God, because it's a life or death situation.

Your life depends on it.

What you walk in in wisdom, your life depends on it.

And so in every area of life and how we take care of our body our body is not our own, for you were bought with the high price.

So how we take care of our bodies, what our thought lives, every piece of the pie needs to be wisdom, wisdom, wisdom, wisdom.

And so we have to.

So I just wanna encourage you get wisdom, get understanding.

It will preserve you.

And so God wants us to live a life, that's, he wants us to enjoy life, he wants us to have joy right.

And so I just wanna encourage you with that.

Get wisdom, get understanding, stick with it, stick with wisdom, it will stick with you.

And so the more you dig into the word, the more you say those scriptures and confess those scriptures.

It's just gonna be in you.

And so when tough times come, hey listen, what's gonna be coming out of your mouth?

Doubt and unbelief.

No, we have to make sure hope, and we have to make sure the word of God is coming out of our mouth, and we have to make sure that not fear but faith is coming out of our mouth, because that's what pleases God is faith.

Amen, amen.

So I just wanna encourage you with that.

Stick with wisdom and it will stick with you.
