  1. Reach down and pick up our Bibles and lift them up and wave them around, make Jesus glad in the devil mad.

  2. Thank you, worship team, beautiful job, hallelujah let's, let's say this together Say heavenly father, thank God for a holiday weekend, thank God for Labor Day.

  3. But my concentration this morning is not on just relaxing, but I want to press into the things of God.

  4. I want to receive revelation that will change my life, develop my spirit, renew my faith, give me the power to possess what belongs to me in Jesus name, amen, amen.

  5. Let's turn in our Bibles to first Corinthians, again, chapter six, and continue.

  6. I think I'll finish today, but you never know, sometimes we just, you know, like last week we took a deep dive and, uh, you know, just dissected.

  7. You know we need thank God.

  8. Jesus went about preaching, teaching, preaching and healing and, uh, preaching is powerful.

  9. Like I laps into preaching from time to time, but mostly I teach, and teaching is necessary because people need to to delve into the word and have it rightly taught and divided.

  10. You know, faith, faith is built.

  11. You know, when Jesus appeared to brother Hagan he said you know, go teach my people faith.

  12. Preaching is good, we can get all excited with preaching, but teaching is where we're going to get something that'll stick to our ribs and hopefully this, this series of messages, will uh give you a better perspective on what God expects us as Christians, how we ought to live.

  13. So first Corinthians, chapter uh six, verse 19,.

  14. What Know you're not?

  15. That your body is the temple of the Holy ghost which is in you, which you have, of God and you are not your own.

  16. News flash You're not your own, for you are bought with a price.

  17. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are gods.

  18. So we've been uh teaching on this subject, cooperating with the Holy ghost.

  19. I won't go back over everything that last two weeks, but, as I mentioned to you, thank God, listen, you know, thank God for the Holy ghost.

  20. I mean he, he lives inside, the third person that God had lives on the inside of us, in our body.

  21. This same body that was alive, the same body I talked about when we were open to service, that used to make its own beer.

  22. I mean, my body still remember, my mind still remembers how to do it.

  23. I just don't do it anymore.

  24. I don't need beer.

  25. I got the Holy ghost.

  26. I needed beer before to give you.

  27. Call my nerves, make me happy, because everything around me was sad, because my business was going down the tubes and the worst it worse it got the more I drank and it didn't help.

  28. You know, I found out, it just didn't help anything.

  29. In fact it probably hurt.

  30. Something makes you dull and uh, but uh, the Holy ghost lives inside that body same body.

  31. I mean, I didn't.

  32. When I was born again, my body was the same body and I have a brain.

  33. My brain remembers what it was like when I was lost.

  34. But oh, thank God, my spirit was saved.

  35. My spirit is new.

  36. I was born again.

  37. The old went out and the new came in.

  38. But these verses talk about glorifying God in your body.

  39. So, uh, cooperating with the Holy ghost is so good.

  40. If you learn how to cooperate with the Holy ghost, what a joy it is when we're faithful to cooperate with the Holy ghost, what a difference our lives become.

  41. So, um, we talked about how, in Jesus, talk and call the Holy ghost the comforter, which really the Greek is paraclete.

  42. Comforter is not the most accurate translation of that word Paraclete that Jesus used in first and in John chapter 14, 15 and 16, he's teaching his disciples a little bit about the Holy ghost.

    John 14 chapter mention

  43. He said I've got many things to share with you, but you're not able to bear them now, wow, cause they hadn't been saved yet.

  44. So a lot of stuff he was talking about, about the paraclete, was going over their head.

  45. But now we're born again so we can receive more information about the Holy ghost.

  46. We ought to know more about him because where he lives inside of us and we can cooperate with him.

  47. And so we talked about, uh, the fact that really a better translation for comforter is helper.

  48. He's our helper, he's in there for our benefit.

  49. He's in there, he's, he's.

  50. He's not just hitchhiking to get from point A to point B, because he don't need you for that.

  51. He can get wherever he's going without you.

  52. So it's for our benefit that he decides to come and live in that same body that used to do all the things you used to do, and I still remember what I used to do, and you know my body does too.

  53. And sometimes you know muscle memory.

  54. You ever heard of muscle memory?

  55. Well, you know golfers know about muscle memory.

  56. You know you take muscle memory or develop a good swing.

  57. Uh, I guess my, my muscles were ignorant in that case, cause I never was any good at golf.

  58. I'd hit the ball but it'd go sail over into the next fairway, next over over the rough into the next fairway.

  59. It's not how you play golf, but anyway.

  60. So, uh, he's not just there to hitchhike, it's not, and he's not there temporarily, he's not going to be here today and gone to more, he's there forever and so, um, it's our advantage to cooperate with him.

  61. Especially.

  62. It's vital for us to cooperate in four areas.

  63. First of all, incorporating with the Holy Ghost by being controlled by the Holy Ghost, being led by the Holy Ghost, being filled with the Holy Ghost and having fellowship with the Holy Ghost.

  64. So we covered those first two pretty extensively last week.

  65. And if you weren't here, you can get the media.

  66. We do have a new podcast deal that you can get podcasts a lot easier.

  67. Now that we don't have DVDs and CDs, you can't watch it, but you can listen to it on your smartphone or on your computer a lot easier.

  68. If you have podcasts, you can subscribe to our podcast and they'll download automatically into your device.

  69. It's just I've already tried it out.

  70. It's really cool and works great.

  71. And so, going down the road, you can listen to the messages or you can listen to them at home or wherever.

  72. But Jesus gave us the Holy.

  73. He said you know, the Father is gonna send the Holy Ghost in my name.

  74. So the Holy Ghost lives in us in the name of Jesus, in other words, to take His place.

  75. And so all this, you know, what about the Father?

  76. What about Jesus?

  77. Well, you know, they're both in heaven.

  78. The part of God it's just one God, but he's in three parts.

  79. So the part of God that we have personal fellowship with inside of us is the Holy Ghost.

  80. So it just follows that we need to know more about how he operates and what he does so we can cooperate with Him.

  81. So we talked about being controlled by the Holy Ghost.

  82. If we're not controlled by the Holy Ghost and we're controlled by the flesh, then essentially, then in the flesh you can't please God, you can't have faith in the flesh.

  83. Your flesh cannot please God.

  84. So therefore, if you're gonna do your own thing a lot of baby Christians, that's what babies do Babies, they do their own thing and you've got to kind of bend yourself around the baby's schedule.

  85. If the baby wants to stay up all night long, you're up all night long.

  86. I forget which one of them we used to have to take for a ride in the car to get them to go to sleep.

  87. I don't know I might've been Jay.

  88. I don't think I might've been Jay.

  89. I think we might've had you know, he just, you know, was up and he's getting old, fussy and having a hard time, and we just got him in the car, drove around the subdivision.

  90. You know, three o'clock in the morning, you'll do anything to get a night's sleep.

  91. You do anything for an hour of sleep.

  92. Thank God, they grow up though, they get out of that stage, and so it is with believers, and we all start off as babies and hopefully we grow.

  93. The word will make you to grow into better things, and so the problem with many Christians is that after they've been saved a while, they just think that they know it all.

  94. Well, you don't know it all, and if you're treading water, you're actually going backward.

  95. And that's what happened to the Corinthian church.

  96. You know that's what happened to the Hebrews.

  97. You know when, for the time, you should be teaching others.

  98. You have need again to learn the first oracles of the principles of God.

  99. And Hebrews, hebrews, chapter five.

  100. He's fussing at them.

  101. He said basically the same thing about the Corinthians.

  102. In chapter three.

  103. He said it's reported that you've got strife and division and factions, cliques, and how is it that you're living as mere unredeemed men?

  104. So we're supposed to be living as what New creatures?

  105. So the churches?

  106. They're churches out here that teach victimhood.

  107. They're always about the victimhood.

  108. They're always looking back at what happened to their history and oh, we're just low down and we're just bent over and we're disadvantaged.

  109. You know that's not God and that's not the Holy Ghost teaching them that mess.

  110. They're focused on their race.

  111. We ought to be focused on the new creature.

  112. We're new creatures.

  113. Look around, you're gonna see every race and every kind of background in this church.

  114. That's the way heaven's gonna be.

  115. Amen, all right.

  116. So anyway, getting back to being controlled by the Holy Ghost, it doesn't happen by itself.

  117. You have to cooperate in that area.

  118. You have to identify when you're walking according to the flesh and then you have to say, no, I'm not gonna do that.

  119. I'm told a story on myself about getting so mad that I'm the woman who stole my seat.

  120. Now, I wasn't a baby Christian, I was.

  121. Hey, I was old enough to know better, but it just felt good to be mad.

  122. Well, what is that?

  123. That's the work of the flesh.

  124. Anger is a work of the flesh.

  125. It's not a demon.

  126. We call flesh demon a lot.

  127. Well, let's get out of the habit of that.

  128. That's charismatic.

  129. Charismatics were big on casting the flesh out of people.

  130. And guess what?

  131. You can't cast a flesh out of people.

  132. Amen, amen.

  133. So I got some mad and Brother William, he just grabbed ahold of me.

  134. I went and complained.

  135. I mean she threw my jacket on the floor, my Bible is upside down, just all.

  136. And I mean I'd gotten there extra early to get those seats.

  137. Now we get the first three rows.

  138. As a counselor at Lakewood we got three rows.

  139. I mean what's the big deal?

  140. I mean you know, it's kind of silly of me to wanna be on the front row.

  141. I just had to be on the front row and we got there real super early to get those seats.

  142. And I come along and here she's throwing my stuff on the floor sitting there so proud of herself.

  143. Lady, you're sitting in my seat.

  144. I knew her, but I didn't know her well enough to have a conversation.

  145. I just knew her.

  146. Knew her because she's one of the group of people, but I don't know how many.

  147. There were a couple of hundred of us out of 5,000.

  148. It's a pretty honored position to be in and I was not doing myself any good by being so ugly.

  149. I didn't say much.

  150. I said you're sitting in my seat.

  151. She said well.

  152. I said I had my stuff there.

  153. It's laying on the floor.

  154. Well, I didn't see it.

  155. I didn't change anything and I thought you lying thing.

  156. But I didn't say it, I just thought it.

  157. I picked up my stuff, marched away.

  158. By that time we had to sit on the 10th or 12th row or something you know, and I'm you know.

  159. I went to brother and I'm telling the story again because it's just a great illustration.

  160. I don't mind using my own sin.

  161. That's under the blood.

  162. See, I don't feel any regret for it anymore because it's over, but we all go through things and I'm not the only one that gets mad in church.

  163. This was in church.

  164. So I went to brother William.

  165. I said he's throwin' my seat.

  166. Oh, you'll be all right, huh.

  167. And he just grabbed me by the shoulders.

  168. And then he grabbed me and he just hugged me and he just oh, you're gonna be all right, it's gonna be all right, it's all.

  169. He didn't rebuke me, he didn't tell me I was, you know, being carnal.

  170. And so I said, yeah, you're right, and I got back to my chair and, oh, it was so hard.

  171. It was the song service that started and it was hard to worship, you know, because I'm still aggravated.

  172. Oh no, don't look at me so innocent.

  173. You know what I did.

  174. I said the Holy see, the Holy Ghost is so, he's in there.

  175. He's in there to help you.

  176. And I don't know that he said this, but just in, you know, just in the sudden, you know, just a knowing.

  177. You know, give her your seat.

  178. See, I hadn't given her see, I'd still said she stole it.

  179. And as long as I had that attitude, I was angry.

  180. And somebody stole something from you and you don't get that under the blood, well then, you're a victim, aren't you?

  181. I'm just perfectly happy being a victim and mad.

  182. Except the Holy Ghost didn't want me to be in that shape because he had some good things in store for me in the service that I needed to get over that.

  183. So you know, I just well, lord, I just give her my seat.

  184. That's not my seat, in fact, I don't have any seats here, they're all your seats and I'm just glad to get to sit down anywhere in this place.

  185. So I had to change my attitude as soon as I did.

  186. See faith, your feelings will follow your faith.

  187. You know it's not the other way around.

  188. You can hang on to emotion all you want.

  189. I don't know why I'm visiting this again.

  190. I thought we'd get past this chapter number two there, number one, but they're all connected, these four things.

  191. So you know, if I had just done that and done that and done that, well then, number one I'm not walking in love because love takes no account of a suffered wrong.

  192. Read 1 Corinthians 13 in the amplified One of these days, when you want to challenge, when you're thinking that you're doing really well, read that and examine your conscience.

  193. That's what the nuns taught me in eight years of Catholic school examine your conscience.

  194. That's a good one.

  195. That's a good one.

  196. They taught me right in that.

  197. In other words, check up on yourself.

  198. How am I lining up with 1 Corinthians 13 where it says love takes no account of a suffered wrong?

  199. It was when I took no account of it and said I give her my seat.

  200. She can have it.

  201. It's not my seat.

  202. It's not my seat.

  203. See, as soon as I released it, did I feel like it?

  204. When I said it?

  205. No, and I said it under my breath, nobody knew it but me and God.

  206. I didn't go back to William and tell him that.

  207. I didn't go to her and tell her that, well, you know what?

  208. I just gave you the seat it was.

  209. You know, I didn't do that.

  210. What is that gonna do?

  211. No, I just got it right, and when I did the right thing, my feelings followed my faith.

  212. That's what forgiveness is.

  213. You do the right thing with your lips and your mouth and your feelings eventually will change.

  214. Are y'all with me now?

  215. All right, so then we'd be led by the Spirit.

  216. We got all into that how he leads you.

  217. He leads you primarily by the witness.

  218. A week before last, I came up with a prophetic utterance that I'd never taught and never said, never even thought about before.

  219. It just came right out of my mouth, and that's a product of being full of the Holy Ghost.

  220. When I'm preaching, I've heard preachers that weren't.

  221. They were full of golf, they were full of vacation, they were full of a lot of things, but they weren't full of the Holy Ghost.

  222. And so when they teach it just kind of you know, it just kind of falls flat.

  223. There's no anointing behind it.

  224. When you're full of the Holy Ghost, your words are coming with a power and a force that puts people in a place of decision where they have to choose to receive or not.

  225. And so I said this about hacking.

  226. I said God, the witness of the Spirit.

  227. We have the witness of the Spirit in us.

  228. 1 John, romans, 6, 8, 16 says we have, we've witnessed, we, by the witness, we know we're saved.

  229. So the witness of the Spirit we talked all about what it is.

  230. It's not a voice, it's not a dream, it's not a vision, it's not God riding across the sky.

  231. It's a knowing, it's a peace or else a red light, a hesitation.

  232. It's like an inward intuition.

  233. Women know about intuition and I said all of the other ways that God leads spectacular, spectacular.

  234. The voice of God.

  235. I've heard the voice of God speak.

  236. Voice of the Holy Ghost.

  237. It's authoritative, I've heard it.

  238. It's not something I pray for and ask him for, because in most cases when he starts having to tell me something out loud, you know it's either there's gonna be some rough sailing ahead or I am in jeopardy of something.

  239. It doesn't ever condemn you anyway.

  240. Voice of God, the voice of the Spirit.

  241. Visions, dreams, what I call spectacular.

  242. You know, all of those can be hacked, see.

  243. I never said that before.

  244. The devil can hack those.

  245. If you're waiting for a voice, you'll get a voice, and it won't be God.

  246. There are many voices, none without significance.

  247. You're doing wrong by waiting for a voice to tell you every little thing to do.

  248. I know you need to learn to walk in the witness, cooperate with the Holy Ghost.

  249. That's the way he works.

  250. So I'm, we're teaching this.

  251. All right, so the wit.

  252. Everybody say the witness of the Spirit.

  253. So now, today, let's look at Ephesians 5, 18.

  254. I gave it to you last week, just a little bit of it.

  255. Let's do it again Ephesians 5, 18.

  256. All the Bible is for us, but not all the Bible is to us.

  257. The epistles are to the church.

  258. You want to read about how to live?

  259. Read the epistles.

  260. Well, what Jesus?

  261. I always just do.

  262. What Jesus?

  263. What Jesus wasn't talking to you in most cases.

  264. Jesus, see, always find out who is being.

  265. Who is the message sent to?

  266. And Jesus himself said I'm sent not, but except for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

  267. Everything he had to say, applied to Israel.

  268. The church wasn't in existence then.

  269. And I like what one Bible scholar said, that the revelation that Paul received is what Jesus took with him back to the father, unuttered.

  270. You know he had to bring.

  271. You know Paul talks about in 1st, 2nd Corinthians, 12,.

  272. There was a man, you know whether in the body or out of the body, I cannot tell who saw things or not even lawful to speak about.

  273. He went, he was taken to heaven and God gave him the revelation of in Christ, through Christ, with Christ.

  274. That's where you get all that in the Pauline revelation.

  275. Now there, john's got revelation you need.

  276. Peter's got revelation, jude's got all of it's got revelation.

  277. All of the epistles are written to you.

  278. So it'd be do you good to always.

  279. You know you think.

  280. Well, I need God to speak to me.

  281. Open your Bible and read the epistles.

  282. They're all speaking right to you, right to you.

  283. What's the will of God?

  284. Well, read those.

  285. And where people get all fouled up is they start comparing what Jesus said to what Paul said, for instance, about women, about marriage.

  286. Are you with me?

  287. It's a little different.

  288. Why?

  289. Because he's dealing with the law.

  290. We're not.

  291. Christ is the end of the law.

  292. We're not under the law anymore, right?

  293. All right.

  294. So Ephesians five, verse 18.

  295. Well, let's go back to 17.

  296. Wherefore, be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is, and be not drunk with wine, whereas in excess, but be filled with the Spirit.

  297. I like that you wanna know what the will of God is, that you be filled with the Spirit.

  298. Don't be unwise.

  299. Don't be unwise, don't be ignorant about the will of God.

  300. The will of God is for you to be filled with the Spirit.

  301. I still don't understand why people think that they can just get by with just salvation and leave the baptism of the Holy Ghost off.

  302. That's not true.

  303. If you're a true disciple of Jesus, if he is your Lord, and he told you to get filled with the Holy Ghost, he said it.

  304. He told the disciples don't leave Jerusalem until you be in dude with power from on high.

  305. For John, truly baptized with water, but you should be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

  306. Not many days hence he appeared over 500 people at one time.

  307. After the resurrection, only 120 showed up in the upper room.

  308. Makes me wonder about the 76% that didn't obey him.

  309. And it's still the same today.

  310. You've got people there.

  311. They are saved.

  312. I've met them and, oh, they'll fight you over speaking in tongues.

  313. Oh, that's up the devil.

  314. Well, you're stupid.

  315. What is wrong with you?

  316. I heard a preacher here, until he's dead now, or no, is he?

  317. Yeah, he died just recently.

  318. I won't tall his name, it's not.

  319. I'm not trying to spoil your opinion of him, but he's on television and in the 80s I heard him with my own ears say that speaking in tongues is up the devil.

  320. Very influential pastor man.

  321. I don't know.

  322. I don't know if I'd have wanted to go to heaven with that opinion.

  323. But anyway, don't be unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is and be not drunk with wine, whereas in excess, but be filled with the Spirit.

  324. The word be there is be being filled, and the linguistic key to the Greek New Testament.

  325. I'm not a Greek scholar, but I've got a book and I read that book and I find out the word be means be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost.

  326. Not about just receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost 55 years ago.

  327. It's about every day staying filled.

  328. Staying filled what?

  329. How Well, that implies something.

  330. It implies that you're gonna have to control your flesh because your flesh doesn't wanna spend the time it takes to stay full.

  331. It takes time to be full Takes a little time in the morning in prayer and then all day long you just, you're God inside minded, and you can just, really you can stay full all day long.

  332. By just, we'll get into all the ways that you can stay full.

  333. Praise God, but you gotta be thirsty.

  334. Jesus said in John seven you know, if any man thirst, if there's the word, if any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink and out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

  335. But this spake he of the Spirit which those who believe on him should receive.

  336. But the Holy Ghost had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

  337. So he's prophesying.

  338. That's one rare time that that small little space of in John chapter seven, jesus is talking about the church.

  339. And then he verified it at the end, after the resurrection, when he challenged the disciples, commanded them to wait in Jerusalem to be baptized in the Holy Ghost.

  340. So he talks about rivers of living water.

  341. Well, the woman at the well.

  342. He said you know, if you come unto me I'll get.

  343. You know, you're here at this well and you get this water, this water not gonna last you.

  344. You'll be thirsty again when you come unto me.

  345. You come unto me, I'll give you the life that will be as a well springing up into everlasting life.

  346. So he's talking about salvation.

  347. He's not talking about this.

  348. This is not salvation.

  349. This is rivers versus a well.

  350. They've got a huge wildfire going up in Walker County Last night.

  351. It was up to like 4,300 acres burned and just a day started Friday afternoon and by Saturday night 4,500 acres burned up and people are being evacuated up in there.

  352. You know just one little.

  353. You know so dry hadn't had any rain, but just one little.

  354. You know it's gonna take more than a garden hose to put that out.

  355. I mean it's gonna take.

  356. It's gonna take a mountain of water, it's gonna take rivers.

  357. And so this is what we have in us when we're baptized in the Holy Ghost.

  358. We've got the capacity for the Holy Spirit to be released in ministry to people.

  359. It's coming out of me this morning.

  360. Rivers are coming out of me this morning.

  361. But listen, rivers come out of you.

  362. So what does that mean?

  363. It means you've got to be replenished.

  364. It means if rivers are coming out but rivers better flow back in, I mean you better get into place where you can replenish what went out.

  365. And therein is what happens when people just relax and take spiritual vacations and they can be controlled by their flesh.

  366. When you're controlled by your flesh, you do what you get hardened, you get hard hearted, you get.

  367. Your spirit is where you receive this wonderful rivers and where you release it.

  368. And so when you are controlled by the flesh instead of by the Holy Ghost, it's like the Holy Ghost is locked in a prison.

  369. It's like you tell the Holy Ghost I've got you under house arrest, I want you to live in this closet back here.

  370. I've got this linen closet.

  371. It's not even a walk-in closet.

  372. You put him in a linen closet and shut the door the furthest.

  373. No windows, no doors.

  374. Put him back there and don't let him out under any circumstance.

  375. I want to do my own thing.

  376. I'm gonna walk through.

  377. I'm saved.

  378. That's all I need to know.

  379. I'm saved.

  380. Praise the Lord, that's it.

  381. And so the Holy Ghost is like a prisoner.

  382. Think about how humble he is, think about how he's the third person of the Godhead and he allows himself to be locked in a closet like a prisoner and he will not try to bust out.

  383. He will not tell you anything.

  384. He'll send the signals but you won't be able to hear him.

  385. Why?

  386. Because you've hardened your heart.

  387. He's hollering behind the door.

  388. Let me out.

  389. So and so needs prayer, so and so needs ministry.

  390. Let me out, oh no, but we're hard hearted.

  391. We're just too busy doing our own thing, too busy making our own living, too busy with our social life.

  392. Too busy, too busy.

  393. Are we busy or are we busy?

  394. I mean we're busy people.

  395. They teach us how to multitask.

  396. I mean you got 14 things going on all at one time.

  397. I don't think we're designed for that.

  398. I don't think our brains can take it.

  399. I think after a while you just go tilt and so, no, let's let him out.

  400. Let's let him out and see he subjects himself to you.

  401. What, how humiliate, how humble is the Holy Ghost, and yet he's God.

  402. He's God.

  403. So it tells you.

  404. Don't be ignorant, don't be unwise, be to understand what the will of the Lord is.

  405. Be not drunk with wine Whereas in excess.

  406. Don't get sidetracked with side issues.

  407. You know, be filled, be being filled, be continually and habitually filled with the Holy Ghost.

  408. And then verse, next verse, verse 19,.

  409. Speaking to yourselves and Psalms, hymn, spiritual song singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

  410. So here it is.

  411. Your tongue is again a major part of getting filled.

  412. You gotta, you gotta open your mouth and say something and tells you what to say.

  413. Psalms and hymn, spiritual song singing, making melody.

  414. You know, when you're filled with the Holy Ghost, you've got a song in your heart, you know, and it's not a sad song, it's a happy song, it's a victory song, amen.

  415. So when you're filled with the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost, the word will just pour out of you.

  416. So that may, that kind of means then that you've got to read your Bible.

  417. I mean you've got to program your spirit with the word.

  418. You've got to read it in order to know it.

  419. If you read it enough, I mean I still remember when I first got saved I just couldn't even believe that somebody could stand on their feet and quote almost the whole book of Ephesians.

  420. Like brother Osteen, would Pastor Osteen get up there and quote, almost quote the entire book of Ephesians?

  421. I mean, he just go on and on and on and I'm sitting there going what?

  422. How many hours did it take for him to memorize?

  423. He didn't memorize it, it was coming out of his spirit.

  424. Anybody have a dakes Bible?

  425. I find this dake.

  426. You know he had a Bible where he did the commentary and it's famous.

  427. And I met his son and his grandson a few years ago and Denver at a convention and he gave me some material and everything and he would regularly get in a storefront in the main street.

  428. You know, back in the old days you had these storefronts with glass windows on the main street and people walk down sidewalk and they'd look at shoes or they'd look at dresses or they'd look at mostly dresses.

  429. Men didn't shop that way but anyway.

  430. So he would pay somebody and he would sit in that storefront with a little speaker and he would start at Genesis, chapter one, and go all the way to Revelation and just recite the Bible.

  431. It just come right out of him In the beginning was the word and the word was he just started and he just kept going and hours and hours, and hours.

  432. You know I guess he'd take a break every now and then, but people, it was just sign and a wonder, just sign and a wonder.

  433. Would he memorize?

  434. No, it was in him.

  435. Your spirit has got such capacity and capability, that's being, it's untapped.

  436. The church has got to grow up.

  437. The church has got to grow up into him and to tap into that supernatural power.

  438. This is part of it right here, speaking to yourself.

  439. So when you first start out you're just reading your Bible.

  440. I'd start it out just where I was, you know.

  441. The other part of speaking is praying in other tongues.

  442. 1 Corinthians 14,.

  443. He that prays in an unknown tongue speaks not into man, but unto God.

  444. His understanding is unfruitful, so you don't understand what you're saying, but you're speaking to God.

  445. When a man prays in tongues, his spirit prayeth.

  446. So praying in tongues is spirit activation.

  447. Your spirit is activated, but your mouth has got to activate too.

  448. Such a where is your mouth?

  449. It's in your body, and so your body has got to be trained to let your tongue speak in tongues for a long enough time.

  450. Are y'all getting this now?

  451. See how they all connect.

  452. They connect being controlled by the Holy Ghost and being filled with the Holy Ghost.

  453. You're not ever going to be filled with the Holy Ghost if you're not controlled by the Holy Ghost to some degree, because why?

  454. You harden your heart and you don't have the desire.

  455. You're not thirsty.

  456. If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

  457. And this is interesting.

  458. We drink by speaking.

  459. We drink by laughing.

  460. We drink by laughing.

  461. We drink by laughing.

  462. Yeah, quit crying and start laughing.

  463. You know most of the tears, I know.

  464. We get all involved with God and it's always presence just makes me cry.

  465. Well, do the adjustments.

  466. Flip the switch, because it ought to make you glad.

  467. His presence would kill people in the Old Testament.

  468. They didn't feel like laughing.

  469. They were afraid of God, they were afraid of His presence.

  470. I can laugh because ha ha ha ha.

  471. Jesus blood has made me acceptable to Him.

  472. I can be in His presence.

  473. I glory that, god.

  474. Can you imagine me?

  475. God does not cry.

  476. The Holy Ghost ain't sad, he's glad.

  477. I will be glad in the Lord.

  478. Not I'll be sad in the Lord, I will be glad in the Lord.

  479. All right.

  480. So the Bible says you know Jude 20, building up yourself on your most holy faith.

  481. Pray it in the Holy Ghost, say you build your spirit up, your spirit gets stronger.

  482. He that prayeth in an unknown tongue, first 14, first Corinthians 14, he that prays in an unknown tongue edifies himself.

  483. That's a positive statement Edifies.

  484. How can you edify anybody if you're not first edified?

  485. See, you build yourself up.

  486. You have spiritual exercise when you pray another tongue.

  487. And so when you do that long enough, after a while, if you've read your Bible, all of a sudden there'll be Bible verses coming out of your mouth and you'll start quoting a verse or you'll start confessing the word.

  488. You'll start, you know, and you'll get into the second one, giving thanks, the second one, the next one.

  489. It's all kind of seamless Speaking to yourselves in Psalms, hymn, spiritual song, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always.

  490. And it says for all things.

  491. Well, you know, that's the King James translation.

  492. It says that, but that's not what it really means.

  493. It doesn't mean giving thanks for what the devil did.

  494. I'm not thanking God for what the devil did, because that would imply that God stamp of approval is on that.

  495. I'm sick as a dog and I'm thanking God.

  496. Oh God, I'm so glad I'm sick.

  497. No, you don't thank God for sickness.

  498. You don't thank God for car wrecks.

  499. You don't thank God for what the devil does, but you thank God during that ha.

  500. Whatever happened, you thank God on that occasion.

  501. You give praise to him anyway.

  502. That's really what it means.

  503. In fact, the passion translation says giving thanks for every person God sent into your life.

  504. Where did they come up with that one?

  505. See, when you delve into the Greek, you've got to kind of go a little deeper and really find out what it's saying.

  506. There's people that gotten off and they just go around acting like the devil.

  507. Everything the devil does is thank worthy to God.

  508. No, that's not what you did.

  509. He delivered you.

  510. He's the deliverer, he's the healer, all right.

  511. So when you're speaking in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing, making melody in your heart, you prayed in tongues for a while.

  512. It's just.

  513. What is it then, brethren?

  514. I will pray in my heavenly language and I'll pray in my understanding also.

  515. I'll sing in tongues, I'll sing in my heavenly language also.

  516. You do both.

  517. I'd sit there with my Bible open in my lap and I'd pray in tongues a while, and then I'd speak some Psalms, I'd have a confession, or I'm so glad I'm saved, I'm so glad I'm healed today.

  518. Thank you, jesus.

  519. Well, I'm just, I'm giving thanks, I'm filled with the Holy Ghost, I'm drinking of His presence, and so it's just seamless.

  520. You know, there's times when I would have a song and it would come to me just in a moment and I'd sing to Him.

  521. A lot of times when I'm playing my Omnicord.

  522. I had a little.

  523. I learned to play a little electronic auto harp and I'd have it in my prayer closet on my coffee table next to my chair that I'd sit and pray in and I would play it and sing to the Lord songs that I knew.

  524. And then sometimes I'd sing in tongues and sometimes I'd just have a song and I knew it was for the Lord and I didn't try to write it down.

  525. Other times I had a song and I wrote it down and we sing it here.

  526. There's a number of songs that I wrote over the years.

  527. When did I write them?

  528. When I was filled with the Holy Ghost.

  529. Are y'all getting anything out of this?

  530. Well, I'm not a songwriter.

  531. Well, I'm not saying you're a songwriter, but you can get filled with the Holy Ghost.

  532. You can speak His Word, can't you?

  533. And then what happened to me is I'd get out in the backyard and I'd be praying in other tongues, walking up and down and just.

  534. And you know the next thing?

  535. I know I'm encouraging myself with a prophetic word Son, what you're doing is building your spirit up.

  536. You are going to overcome every obstacle today because you've spent this time praying.

  537. Well, you know, god is talking to me and I'm prophesying to myself Amen.

  538. I heard a preacher say that's flaky, well, baloney on you.

  539. It's right here.

  540. It's right here.

  541. I'm speaking to myself and God is saying calling me son man, I got encouraged.

  542. What do you think David did?

  543. David encouraged himself and the Lord.

  544. What do you think he did?

  545. You know, at Ziklag everybody was talking about stoning him.

  546. I mean, he'd lost his kids and his stuff.

  547. Everything was gone.

  548. Ziklag had just been burned and it says David encouraged himself and the Lord is God.

  549. What do you think he did?

  550. Oh, god is the Lord.

  551. No, he said God, I still remember what you, how you call me.

  552. I remember that horn of oil that you poured over my head.

  553. You've anointed me to lead these people.

  554. I'm not going to sit here and cry any longer.

  555. I'm getting up.

  556. Shall I pursue them.

  557. You want me to go after them?

  558. I'll go after them.

  559. And the Lord said yeah, I'll go after them.

  560. You'll surely recover all Hallelujah.

  561. And he did.

  562. Are y'all with me now?

  563. Yeah, all right.

  564. The third one here, giving thanks always under the Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, number 21, submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

  565. So there again, that is subject to being controlled by the Holy Ghost, because submitting means yielding.

  566. It means really the.

  567. It's really the act of love.

  568. Love seeks not its own, love seeks the other person's welfare.

  569. Love is other person oriented.

  570. It's not self seeking, it doesn't insist on its own way.

  571. Yeah, go back and read 1 Corinthians 13 and amplify.

  572. You could kind of judge yourself, if you should.

  573. You should.

  574. You should judge yourself about how you're reacting to your brothers and sisters, especially right here.

  575. Because it says to be filled with a Holy Ghost, you need to submit yourself one to another in the fear of God.

  576. Why?

  577. Because God lives in them as well, as you knew.

  578. So when you don't rightly discern, you know one thing that Paul said about communion that Jesus didn't say.

  579. You know you read when Jesus, when he instituted communion, he said some things.

  580. You read those, matthew, we do it every time, but sometimes I read it out of 1 Corinthians, chapter 11, that's Paul got it.

    1 Corinthians 11 chapter mention

  581. When Paul went to heaven, he got communion.

  582. He said you know you need to discern the body.

  583. What does that mean?

  584. It means you need to realize that God lives in your brother and your sister and how you treat them If you don't discern the Lord's body.

  585. That's the reason you receive communion and you haven't rightly discerned the Lord's body.

  586. In other words, you haven't submitted yourself one to another in the fear of God For this cause.

  587. Many are weak and sickly among you and many sleep, in other words, premature death.

  588. Now that Paul said that.

  589. Jesus didn't say that.

  590. Paul said that.

  591. But see it all lines up with the scriptures.

  592. It gets back to being controlled by the Holy Ghost when you get hard hearted with each other and you start just kinda throwing your weight around.

  593. Well, you know what Brother Hagin talks about.

  594. When he first started pastoring he's a little teenager about 19, pastored his first church and he lived with a gentleman that was members of the church that he was pastoring and had a room there and he said you know, this man was a fine old gentleman and all that.

  595. But he had this attitude that you know, I'm a member of that church as much as anybody else and I'm gonna have my say.

  596. And he did have his say until that church split and here's little town and it's only a couple of churches in town and that's one church, and then he just kept on insisting on his way.

  597. It's my way, or the highway.

  598. This is.

  599. I'm insisting, I'm a member of this church as much as anybody else.

  600. I'm gonna say this.

  601. And so he kept insisting and have his way and it split the church up.

  602. Well, you know, he wasn't submitting himself one to another in the fear of God.

  603. So that's a what is that?

  604. That's a sign of being filled.

  605. You know, when you're filled with a Holy Ghost, you're easy to get along with.

  606. You don't have to have your way.

  607. If somebody's got another direction, well, you can just yield right away and leave it to God.

  608. Love on them.

  609. That's not my seat anyway, lord.

  610. I give you, lord, I just give her my seat.

  611. I don't have any seats in here.

  612. That's what I had to do.

  613. I think back.

  614. If I hadn't done that, no telling what would have happened to me.

  615. I might not even be here.

  616. Some of these things can cause your life to be cut short.

  617. Some of these things can cause you open, not because God's mad at you, but you leave the door open for the devil to come and clean your clock.

  618. Are y'all getting anything out of this?

  619. Y'all to be running around the church by now?

  620. Come on, come on.

  621. Let's lift our hands.

  622. Father, we thank you that you're giving us the ways that we can cooperate with you.

  623. What a joy life is when we're faithful to cooperate with the Holy Ghost.

  624. All right, let's get on to the next one.

  625. So these three things I mean you know, really, it starts with speaking in other tongues, though.

  626. That's why you need the baptism.

  627. If you hadn't received the baptism, receive it.

  628. Quit putting it off.

  629. You need it.

  630. You need the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

  631. You can't have access to the fullness.

  632. I'm not saying you're gonna go to hell.

  633. It's not about your salvation.

  634. It's about your Christian life being fruitful.

  635. It's all about that.

  636. See, you got saved for you, but when you get the baptism, it's for your ministry and for everyone that's under your influence.

  637. That's the best way to say it, and we all have.

  638. Every believer has a ministry, so that's why every believer needs the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

  639. All right, and so the last one here.

  640. I think I can get through this one.

  641. First, corinthians.

  642. Second, corinthians 13,.

  643. Verse 14,.

  644. Second, corinthians 13.

  645. Again, the Corinthian church.

  646. See, they became behind in no good gift, and yet they were coronal.

  647. They had sin in the camp, they had things that had to correct.

  648. They weren't totally controlled by the Holy Ghost and so he had to give them a lot of teaching to bring them along as a church.

  649. And second, corinthians 13,.

  650. The very last verse, verse 14, he ends all of his remarks to them by saying this the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God.

  651. Everybody say grace, everybody say love, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all.

  652. Everybody say communion, the communion of the Holy Ghost.

  653. They notice it's the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God.

  654. See, all three parts of the Godhead are mentioned in this final verse and he says the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all.

  655. The word communion is coininia.

  656. It means communion, it means common union, it means partnership.

  657. I like the message Bible.

  658. They call it the intimate fellowship, and so one of the ways to cooperate with the Holy Ghost that's necessary for us is to have fellowship, coininia with the Holy Ghost.

  659. Well, pastor, that's just.

  660. I thought I was supposed to pray to the Father in the name.

  661. Well, you do.

  662. You pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.

  663. Not talking about prayer, I'm just talking about fellowship.

  664. It is prayer, but you're not asking for the Holy Ghost to do something.

  665. You're, you're fellowshipping, you're having partnership, you're having really you're having intimacy with Him, intimacy, intimate fellowship.

  666. And so years ago, as I mentioned, you know, I'd read my Bible and pray and sometimes I'd start off by just laying on my face and praying for a while.

  667. Then I'd get up and read my Bible and pray some more and sing and do all the things and I'd take two and a half hours or so in the beginning of every morning.

  668. I don't do it all at once now anymore, but I used to do it when I was beginning because I felt like I had to catch up.

  669. I was 33 when I got saved.

  670. I felt like I was way behind and I knew I had a call on my life.

  671. So I wanted to, I wanted to put the pedal to the metal and I did.

  672. And one time I was praying in the Holy Ghost and I sang a little bit and then I just leaned back in my chair and rested my head, closed my eyes and was silent for a little bit, just because his presence was there.

  673. I mean, you can't do that without his presence coming in.

  674. I'm not talking about goosebumps, I you know.

  675. Yes, sometimes you have them.

  676. But it's not about the goosebumps, it's about his presence.

  677. His presence sometimes manifests a certain way and sometimes you don't, you just know, say I just knew he was there, that's all.

  678. It was peaceful.

  679. And I've got my eyes closed and this sweet voice and I did hear a voice, I didn't ask for one, and he said you are my intimate companion.

  680. And I I mean I, you know water came out of my eyes.

  681. I mean I didn't lot so much tears, it just went, you know.

  682. I mean it just touched me so deeply that God, the Holy Spirit, the third person that God had the executive power of all mighty God, said to me you are my intimate companion.

  683. Oh man, that was just almost more than my brain tissue could take in, but I received it.

  684. I've never forgotten it in 43 years.

  685. I never will.

  686. I mean I'll never forget it.

  687. And I remind him you know, you're my intimate companion because he goes everywhere I go and I don't have him locked in the back room, I don't have him locked in the closet.

  688. I got him right by the front door where he can get out anytime he wants to, where he can look out and see what's going on down the street.

  689. Look out over my hood and watch what's going on in front of me.

  690. And I'm on the freeway or anywhere else, somebody cuts me off, he helps my foot get on the brake, shuts my mouth from saying what I want to say.

  691. Sometimes he does, sometimes sometimes he doesn't.

  692. I'm still working on some things, folks.

  693. Yeah, the father guests.

  694. Pray to the father in the name of Jesus.

  695. Talk to the father, magnify him, love on him, love on Jesus.

  696. Tell him how much you love, yeah, but the Holy Ghost, yeah, love on the Holy Ghost, lean on the Holy Ghost.

  697. Praise God for the Holy Ghost, praise the Holy Ghost, thank him.

  698. You can do that all day long.

  699. You can fellowship with him all day long.

  700. You don't have to just do it for 30 minutes in the morning, you can do it all day long.

  701. You can breathe.

  702. You can breathe, oh, holy Ghost.

  703. Thank God, you're with me and for me.

  704. Thank you.

  705. The tougher things are looking, the more I talk to him, I remind myself who's myself, my spirit, who's really in there?

  706. Who is the one in there helping me?

  707. Oh, he's helping you.

  708. Glory to God.

  709. Oh, now the Holy Ghost is gentle, he's deflecting, he's deferring to the father and the son, which is why he's the one that inspired holy men of God to write what they wrote down in the scriptures.

  710. And there's not a lot written about the Holy Spirit because he doesn't talk a lot about himself.

  711. So it's when you find information about him, it's imperative that we know that information and apply it, because he does live inside of us, because he's so gentle and deferring and deflecting.

  712. He does not insist on his own way.

  713. He will not bulldoze his way to the front door, he will not make you, he will not rebuke you.

  714. He's for you, he's there to help you.

  715. So let's make sure that he's not shut up in prison.

  716. I mean, really, the church is filled with believers where the Holy Ghost is shut up in prison.

  717. Their own spirits are really shut up in the prison of their flesh and it's time for us to let all of that out.

  718. It's time for our spirit to have free reign.

  719. It's time for the Holy Ghost to come out and let's capture this world for Jesus.

  720. Hallelujah Over to God.

  721. Oh, what a joy life is when we're faithful to cooperate with the Holy Ghost.
