  1. Let's pick our Bibles up and wave them around.

  2. Make Jesus glad the devil made.

  3. Let's say this together say, heavenly Father, I'm here on Sunday night because I'm hungry and thirsty for more, more of your spirit, more of your presence, more of your glory.

  4. I want to have tonight in my heart the raw material for victory and I will put it together and manifest that victory in this life in Jesus' name, amen.

  5. Let's turn in the book of numbers tonight, back in the front of your Bible, numbers 27, verse 18.

    Numbers 27:18

  6. We'll start reading with verse 18.

  7. The Lord said unto Moses take thee Joshua, the son of none, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him and set him before Eliezer the priest, before all the congregation, and give him a charge in their side.

  8. Now, this was public, all of Israel, I mean.

  9. You know God is marking Joshua and thou shalt put some of thine honor upon him.

  10. That is some of your glory, some of your splendor, some of your majesty on him.

  11. You know Moses was the greatest prophet in the Old Testament, an awesome man, revered, feared.

  12. Put some of your honor on Joshua that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient and he shall stand before Eliezer the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim.

  13. You know Urim and Thumam.

  14. You know we've talked about that.

  15. That's in the Ephod, the stones that are in the Ephod of the High Priest, and that's how people who were spiritually dead could know what the will of God was.

  16. Those stones would light up and they would know a yes or no or they would get messages from God.

  17. That way, I mean, it was.

  18. You know, they didn't have the witness of the Spirit, they didn't have the presence of the Spirit inside.

  19. And so the High Priest had the Urim and the Thumam, and at his word shall they go out.

  20. See, at Joshua's word, israel shall go out and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

  21. And Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and he took Joshua and sent him before Eliezer the priest and before all the congregation, and he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.

  22. All right, let's turn over to Deuteronomy 31.

  23. A few pages to the right, verse seven.

  24. And Moses called unto Joshua and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, be strong and of a good courage, for thou must go with this people under the land which the Lord has sworn under their fathers to give them, and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

  25. And the Lord, he, it is that doth go before thee.

  26. He will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee, fear not, neither be dismayed.

  27. So now, here Moses is charging Joshua again in front of Israel, and then finally, over at Deuteronomy 34, a couple more pages over verse nine.

  28. And Joshua, the son of none, was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, as did the Lord, commanded Moses.

  29. So I wanted just to share a message entitled the laying on of hands, the laying on of hands, and I wanted you to see how important the laying on of hands is.

  30. This is just one little bit of the testimony of the power of the laying on of hands in the Bible.

  31. The anointing is transferable.

  32. We just laid hands tonight on people that had earthquakes.

  33. Well, the anointing is transferable.

  34. There's an anointing, the spirit of God flowing from their pastor into them, to go into them, and also then, whenever they're acting upon the situation.

  35. I mean, they've got a special anointing on their side.

  36. And so Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom.

  37. It says why?

  38. Because Moses laid hands on him and gave some of his, some of his majesty, some of his splendor, some of his glory to him.

  39. And see, god commanded Moses to lay hands on him.

  40. God, it was God.

  41. He didn't just dream it up, he didn't say well, you know what Josh is?

  42. A good guy, and they call it lay hands.

  43. No, god had this line of succession.

  44. He couldn't have just chosen him.

  45. God had to do it.

  46. But he used Moses, he uses, used Moses hand.

  47. So, after Moses death, let's turn over to Joshua, chapter one.

  48. I want you to see this.

  49. This is so interesting.

  50. Now Moses is dead.

  51. So in verse Joshua, joshua, 1-1,.

  52. Now, after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spake unto Joshua.

  53. Now he's speaking directly to Joshua, before he was speaking to Moses to tell Joshua.

  54. But now he's speaking directly to Joshua, why?

  55. Because Joshua was in charge of Israel and he spoke unto Joshua, the son of none, moses, minister, saying Moses, my servant is dead.

  56. Now, therefore, arise and go over this Jordan, thou and all this people under the land which I do give them, even the children of Israel, every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses, from the wilderness in this Lebanon, even under the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and under the great sea, toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

  57. There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life.

  58. As I was with Moses, so I will be also with thee.

  59. I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.

  60. I mean identical words.

  61. God is speaking to Joshua that Moses spoke to Joshua just in the previous chapter.

  62. Be strong and of a good courage, for under this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land which I swear unto their fathers to give them.

  63. My margin says it this way.

  64. In verse six, my margin says you shall cause this people to inherit the land.

  65. That was his task.

  66. It's really the task of all of the five fold minister.

  67. My task is to see to it that you inherit your promises.

  68. And how do I do that?

  69. Well, by ministering under the anointing and teaching and preaching the Word of God, giving you your rights and privileges and teaching you about your covenant.

  70. Amen, watching that, you know, listening to the whole thing.

  71. Go stretching out my rod over difficulties, like we did tonight on these earthquakes.

  72. I'm teaching this about laying on of hands because I see so little of it in the church, even full gospel churches.

  73. I know a guy from Lake Wood.

  74. I knew him well.

  75. He was at Lake Wood.

  76. He had an example.

  77. Brother Osteen, doty were his examples.

  78. But you know, I heard about his church.

  79. He's got a church here in town and they don't even pray for people.

  80. They don't lay hands on anybody, they just say if you need healing, we'll just wait until after the service and somebody will come, and somebody not me, but somebody will come and pray for you.

  81. Like it's an afterthought.

  82. It's never been an afterthought here.

  83. In the beginning, gladys and I did all the praying because we were just getting started.

  84. But you know, you notice we have live team members.

  85. Now we delegate that.

  86. Why?

  87. Well, because it just makes it faster.

  88. We don't have to spend so much time doing it.

  89. We just like Moses, just, you know, he delegated to Joshua.

  90. I mean, god showed me how to do that.

  91. We did that at Lakewood, you know, brother Osteen and Doty delegated their authority to Gladys and I, along with a couple of hundred other people.

  92. We did a lot of laying on of hands there, but they always laid hands on every, at every service.

  93. You had laying on of hands and it's gone out, it's lost, it's it's lost use.

  94. So I just want to tell you how important it is.

  95. I think you need to know.

  96. So we see here that the anointing upon Joshua came from Moses and really he had an increase, because you know what Moses couldn't do, joshua did.

  97. Moses couldn't get them into the promised land.

  98. His anger and his temper kept him out.

  99. He got mad one time and struck the rock the second time when God told him to speak to the rock.

  100. The second time, you know, he struck the rock.

  101. They were without water.

  102. God said strike the rock and water came out for three million people.

  103. Do you realize how much water that is for three million people out of a rock.

  104. And then it happened again and God said okay, this time go to that same rock, but this time speak to the rock.

  105. And this was a type and shadow of Jesus.

  106. Jesus, the rock was struck once.

  107. The rock was struck once for our salvation.

  108. So when Moses got mad, I tell you people, you just make me so mad here you want some water.

  109. Here it is.

  110. He struck the rock the second time and violated a major type and shadow of Jesus, one time dying on the cross.

  111. And he messed that up.

  112. And God said I'll tell you what.

  113. You're not going into promised land I'm gonna punish.

  114. You Say we got a better covenant.

  115. I'm so glad I'm not getting punished for the mistakes I've made.

  116. Neither are you, as long as you own them.

  117. Amen, keep short accounts with him.

  118. And then we see the anointing transferred from Jesus to the apostles.

  119. You know, in Luke 4, 18, he stood up in his hometown at the synagogue where he was raised.

  120. He said the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he's anointed me Preach the gospel to five kinds of people.

  121. And so he boldly proclaimed that he had the anointing.

  122. And then, in verse 39, let's go back there real quick.

  123. Luke, chapter four, take but a minute Talking about the laying on of hands.

  124. And I want this and the importance of it for you to have a revelation of it so that you can use your influence in places you never know who you'll be talking to and who you can help out All right.

  125. In verse 39, 38, he rose out of the synagogue and entered into Simon's house.

  126. This is after he's anointed.

  127. You know he's announced that he's anointed.

  128. You know, he entered into Simon's house and Simon's wife's mother, his Simon's mother-in-law, peter's mother-in-law, was taken with a great favor, mega favor, and they besought him for her and he stood over her and rebuked the fever and it left.

  129. And one version says that he touched her hand.

  130. He touched her hand, see, he gave a pathway for the anointing to travel from his body into hers through the laying on of hands, the law of contact and transmission, much like electricity.

  131. That's why it's so important to have the laying on of hands.

  132. Can people get healed other ways?

  133. Well, yeah, but it gets back to the manifestation of the spirit.

  134. Sometimes, if the manifestation is not real strong, you need the laying on of hands.

  135. So, and then in chapter, in verse 40, it says now, when the son was setting, all they that had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto him and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.

  136. Wow, so there you have the laying on of hands.

  137. Jesus laid hands on people himself.

  138. And then you know, in Luke chapter nine and Luke, chapter 10, it doesn't say he laid hands on the apostles, but he gave them power and authority to cast out demons and to heal the sick.

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  139. And you know, he was very demonstrative with the disciples Just think about John's always laying his head on his breast and all that kind of I mean he, you know, he was a very loving master, and so it doesn't say specifically that he laid his hands on them, but they definitely had that anointing.

  140. They had to have gotten it from somebody.

  141. Well, jesus gave it to them and they went out by two and two.

  142. And I mean, you know, and then he did the next chapter in chapter 10, he sent out the 70 to do the same thing and they came back.

  143. Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name, wow.

  144. And he said well, that's not a big deal.

  145. You ought to be rejoicing that your name's enrolled in heaven.

  146. Don't be so worried about picking a tick off of somebody.

  147. That's what.

  148. See these demons?

  149. They're nothing to the anointing.

  150. The anointing drives them out.

  151. The anointing destroys the yoke the devil tries to put on people.

  152. Really, all believers should lay hands on the sick.

  153. All believers should lay hands, period.

  154. We used to lay our hands on our kids every day before they went to school.

  155. If I didn't, if you know, they'd stand around.

  156. If we forgot, somehow we got too busy and they'd stand around.

  157. Are you gonna pray for us?

  158. Oh yeah, she a honey, okay.

  159. And if I wasn't there, glad, as always, did, and she did a lot more of it than I did really.

  160. And in Mark 16, let's look at that, mark 16.

  161. Laying, everybody say laying on our hands.

  162. Mark 16, verse 17.

    Mark 16:17

  163. And these signs shall follow or shall accompany those that believe.

  164. Notice it didn't say the apostles.

  165. Notice it didn't say those that went to Bible school.

  166. Notice it didn't say that people had to be real mature.

  167. It just said them that believe, are you a believer?

  168. These signs shall accompany you.

  169. They shall cast out demons.

  170. That's not talking about, you know, exorcism.

  171. I mean a lot of people would go to seed on this kind of stuff and they go kind of extreme.

  172. Well, I mean the deliverance ministry.

  173. Well, I don't see that in the Bible.

  174. I just see casting out demons.

  175. That's not.

  176. I mean people that say they're in the deliverance ministry.

  177. I mean they're the ones that are just kind of demon conscious.

  178. There's a demon everywhere and everything's a demon.

  179. That's the charismatic.

  180. If you ever come across a book, pigs in the park or throw it away.

  181. I believe in throwing bags, and throwing bags and throwing bags, throw it away.

  182. I believe in throwing bad books away.

  183. There it is Pigs in the park or I'm just giving that to you for free, no charge.

  184. It's a bunch of bunk.

  185. Got a whole list of all the demons the Bible.

  186. Spirit of infirmity is in the Bible.

  187. Unclean spirits in the Bible.

  188. There are very few spirits.

  189. God last week we demonstrated God has given me these ways of naming these demons.

  190. I don't see that in the Bible either, but there's a lot of things that we're coming into that.

  191. The heart of it is in the Bible.

  192. But we can all deal with demons.

  193. We can get them out of the way.

  194. Cast them out means to get them out of the way, stop them from operating in your life.

  195. But the last one there is in the name of Jesus.

  196. We use it.

  197. We use the name of Jesus.

  198. We do it in the name of Jesus.

  199. We don't do it in our name, we do it in the name of Jesus.

  200. In the name of Jesus, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover?

  201. Who shall lay hands on the sick Believers?

  202. And it just says the sick.

  203. It doesn't say the Christian sick, it doesn't say the worthy sick, it doesn't mean the wonderful, holy sick, it just means the sick anywhere.

  204. Wherever you see somebody that's sick, you can lay your hands on them.

  205. Lay your hands on them and pray all the way from Genesis to Revelation.

  206. No, it doesn't even say pray, it just says lay your hands on them in the name of Jesus, up here at the front.

  207. Many times we pray for people because they come up with complex situations that require a prayer.

  208. But really, if people are coming up for healing, they don't really need a prayer, they just need the hands laid on them in the name of Jesus.

  209. My mother was 70, catholic lady, and we went to a full gospel business meeting.

  210. She hadn't given her heart to Jesus yet.

  211. That I know of and the same couple that was instrumental in getting me saved.

  212. I got saved on a Friday night and then Saturday night we went to full gospel in Conroe and my mother went with us.

  213. She had osteoporosis and her spine had deteriorated to where she had a lot of pain.

  214. She couldn't sit, she couldn't lay down, she was just miserable all the time and I was really concerned had been concerned for her for several years, ever since my father died that she was gonna lose her will to live and she was in such pain.

  215. She had in mind maybe traveling.

  216. They never got to travel like they wanted to and she thought maybe she might wanna travel and she couldn't even sit in an airplane and she couldn't really do much.

  217. And so on the way home from the meeting we went with that couple from Lakewood Church and the lady said "'Liz, I just I wanna pray for your back.

  218. Would you let me pray for you' and she said oh no, you don't have to do that.

  219. Save it for my sister.

  220. She needs it a lot worse than I do".

  221. Her sister was in a nursing home in Conroe and she was paralyzed.

  222. She had something wrong, she had a tumor on her spine anyway, and she said I'll never forget.

  223. I'm brand new, I hadn't been around this at all, I didn't know.

  224. She said, oh, there's plenty to go around, there's plenty to go around.

  225. And so we went in my mother's house, went in the living room it was my sister and her husband, gladys, and I and my mother and this couple from Lakewood and Linda put her hands on my mother's head and she never prayed, she just said, in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, just like that, over and over about a half a dozen times.

  226. And you know, we're just watching, watching, you know, watching for whatever.

  227. I don't know what I was looking for, but suddenly my mother's hands went up like this, just slowly went up, up, up, up, up, up, all the way over her head like that.

  228. I hadn't seen her reach that high in a long time.

  229. You're reaching for the sky.

  230. Nobody told her to do it, she, her hands were all the way up here and the name of Jesus, and all of a sudden she just fell and my brother-in-law was kind of not very far from her, sitting down a chair in the entry hall and he said no, mom, and he leaped over there to try to catch her.

  231. Of course he missed her and she hit the floor and it was so funny.

  232. I just said, oh, you have little faith.

  233. And we all laughed.

  234. Everybody laughed and my mother got appealed.

  235. She was instantly healed of osteoporosis and they found no trace of osteoporosis until she was 93.

  236. She was in the nursing home and she did fall and break her hip and by that time, 23 years later, she finally, without being ministered to, I mean, she had Alzheimer's and was in the nursing home for several years.

  237. Hallelujah, come on, let's lift our hands.

  238. Thank God for the laying on of hands in the name of Jesus so powerful.

  239. Oh really, god.

  240. Now this was instant.

  241. But you know we don't have grounds to believe for instant.

  242. It says recover.

  243. So because it says recover, a lot of times you're gonna lay hands on people and you're not gonna know what the results are.

  244. Well, that's not our business.

  245. Our business is to do it.

  246. The results don't matter, the results are up to God.

  247. We do the laying on of hands and he does the healing and they do the recovering, amen.

  248. And so everybody say transfer the anointing, see 1st John 2,.

  249. 27 says all believers are anointed.

  250. The anointing which you have received dwelleth in you.

  251. You have the anointing or you have the Holy Ghost living on the inside of you.

  252. The anointing is the word.

  253. Anointing means a smearing, it means charisma, it means like grease, it's like you're marked.

  254. I have a story about a missionary in Africa and he tells a story about praying for a witch doctor.

  255. Somehow the witch doctor of the village got in position to get saved and he got him saved and he said you know I just want to tell you this because everybody in the village knows you because we travel outside our bodies.

  256. We have astral projection.

  257. You might have heard of that.

  258. It's an occult term where people leave their bodies and travel.

  259. We used to have a lot of trouble in Malawi with the grandparents of the orphans that were orphaned by.

  260. Their parents, died of AIDS and now they're orphaned.

  261. So they come to our facility and we had trouble with the grandmothers especially.

  262. They'd get lonesome for their grandchildren and they would call their spirits out to come and visit.

  263. We don't know much about the spirit realm like they do over there.

  264. They know the bad side of it and the kids were just getting bad grades.

  265. They were tired, they were up all night visiting with grandma across town and they started figuring this out.

  266. So they'd have a meeting, say look, please don't do that.

  267. That's not first of all, that's against God.

  268. They were claimed to be Christians but they didn't know any better.

  269. Nobody taught them what was right.

  270. But anyway, getting back to the witch doctor that got saved, he said you know, you're known because you know we would be traveling through town, looking, you know, looking for the next victim, and we'd travel by where you were and there'd be light shining out of the window and we'd say, oh man, we gotta stay away from there, don't ever go in there, don't dare go in there.

  271. That guy was born again, he's got the Holy Ghost.

  272. Oh, I tell you what we have.

  273. We have an anointing on us, we have a smearing on us, we're marked.

  274. The seven sons of Sceva tried to cast a devil out in the name of Jesus.

  275. Paul preaches.

  276. And the young man said well, you know Paul, I know, and Jesus I know.

  277. But who are you?

  278. You don't have a right to use the name of Jesus.

  279. And they jumped on this young man, jumped on the seven and beat them up and stripped them and sent them on their way.

  280. So we're marked.

  281. It's not about going to Bible school, it's not even being mature.

  282. You don't have to be mature and know everything about the Bible to lay hands on people in Jesus' name.

  283. You know Jesus' name, don't you?

  284. You're a believer, aren't you?

  285. That's it.

  286. That's it.

  287. So it's a foundational doctrine that has gone out of the church and we need.

  288. Let's look at Hebrews, chapter six.

  289. You get anything out of this.

  290. I'll tell you, this church is what it is, in no small part because we do believe in the land on of hands.

  291. Hebrews six one, therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ.

  292. Now, in the thing before the verse in chapter five and the verses right above that, he's rebuking the Hebrew Christians because he said you know, you people have been saved long enough.

  293. You ought to be teaching others, but you're carnal and you have need of others to teach you what are the first principles of the doctrine of Christ.

  294. And you have become such as need milk and not meat.

  295. So he's already kind of getting on their case that they are lazy and say I'm sorry, but there's a lot of Christians and churches in America where we ought to be way ahead, and we're not.

  296. We're, we have left a whole doctrine off.

  297. No wonder the church is weak and hasn't exhibited any influence in the political realm or the social realm or anything else.

  298. It's going to change though.

  299. All right, so, and then then, in verse one, chapter six, therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection or under maturity, not laying again the foundation of.

  300. And then he lists the foundation Number one repentance from dead works.

  301. You can't get saved without repenting.

  302. No, there's, no, there's no savior without Jesus being Lord, and Jesus is not the Lord of sin, he's not the Lord of your old lifestyle.

  303. That's why you can't get saved being a homosexual.

  304. You've got to turn away from it.

  305. Sorry, in fact it fins you, but that's the truth.

  306. It doesn't work.

  307. There is no, there are no Christian bank robbers associations.

  308. Oh yeah, I, I robbed banks for a living.

  309. Yeah, I'm a Christian.

  310. Oh yeah, I prayed the other day for God to open a door for me to get a hundred thousand dollars on my next job.

  311. I mean, we throw rocks at somebody like that.

  312. Okay, so that's that.

  313. Repentance from dead works is one faith toward God.

  314. You imagine having it never being taught about faith and how to use it?

  315. Most people think about clarinine.

  316. We're talking about this the other day.

  317. Most people think when you talk about faith, they think you're talking about Catholic Baptist, a denomination.

  318. No, that's not what we're talking about.

  319. We're talking about your faith.

  320. Faith changes things.

  321. Of the doctrine of baptism plural.

  322. We teach that Faith foundations Baptism in water.

  323. It's immersion, baptism into the body of Christ, where the Holy Spirit takes you and baptizes you into the body of Christ when you get saved.

  324. That's one second baptism.

  325. The other one is baptism of the Holy Ghost, where Jesus takes you and plunges you and fills you completely up with the Holy Spirit.

  326. Three baptisms, that's a doctrine of the faith.

  327. It ought to be how.

  328. Anybody took one or two of those baptisms out of there and gave themselves permission to say well, we just don't believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

  329. That's speaking tongues of the devil.

  330. Where do you get it?

  331. Where is it?

  332. Show it to me, they don't have it.

  333. Man, I would run out of a church that said that.

  334. And of laying on of hands there, it is right there In verse two.

  335. It's right there with faith, with baptisms, with repentance from dead, work, laying on of hands Right there, and of resurrection of the dead.

  336. And of eternal judgment.

  337. Oh well, we don't talk about judgment in our church.

  338. It's just too depressing.

  339. Well, you know, I don't know, but it says right here into the foundational.

  340. Again, if you weren't here this morning, you ought to get the media is.

  341. You'll learn some things about judgment.

  342. We have to talk about it because we're near to it right now.

  343. We're not the ones that are going to get judged.

  344. It's the unbelievers that are getting judged.

  345. So, um, now we've talked a lot about healing, but besides healing, there's all kinds of reasons to lay hands on people.

  346. The anointing can be transmitted.

  347. We already found out for wisdom and strength, courage, I mean Joshua and Moses, uh, ministry, gifts of the spirit.

  348. Let's turn over to 1st Timothy.

  349. 1st Timothy, timothy, timothy, where aren't down Back to the left?

  350. Bible is falling apart.

  351. Pages are coming out.

  352. Time for a new one.

  353. I'm putting that off because I write in my margins.

  354. So you write in your margins, do you underline?

  355. That's why I don't want to get another one.

  356. All right, 1st Timothy, chapter four, verse 14, neglect not the gift.

  357. This is Paul talking to Timothy.

  358. Neglect, not the gift.

  359. That is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

  360. So there had to have been a time when a prophetic word came in a service over Timothy and a group of ministers laid their hands on him and imparted to him some gifts and ministries.

  361. So, um, neglect not, neglect not the gift, Don't be careless, don't ignore, don't make light of the gift.

  362. You have to watch carefully over and protect and give attention to the anointing.

  363. And again, every believer is anointed.

  364. Every believer has the anointing, but then there are other anointing, there's other things that God will add to you through the lay on of hands and you, you have to regard those things, you have to watch over them.

  365. You know you have to be careful about who it is that's laying their hands on you.

  366. I mean, you know you can get something you didn't want, huh, I mean, you know, when people are out of order and they got, they're flaky and they have all kind of uh, I won't say demons, but sometimes people do have them.

  367. Well, you know what.

  368. You can let them, those kind of people, lay their hands on you.

  369. Well, you know, I don't know that.

  370. I just wouldn't do that.

  371. I'm real particular about who does that for me.

  372. I don't enjoy that.

  373. And yet there's some charismatic church churches.

  374. They just turn the spigot on and just everybody goes across.

  375. I remember I was in a meeting Uh, I won't say who they were, but they're from another country.

  376. They were about the turn of the century of 2019.

  377. 99.

  378. I don't know.

  379. I'd heard about them went to a meeting.

  380. Gladys and I were there with some other people and they had teams going across the place to lay hands on, and I had watched them on television, I'd heard their message and I thought, well, I wouldn't mind them laying hands on me, but I don't know About these teams.

  381. I don't know where they got them.

  382. And I mean, there were, there were women in the teams that were dressed so inappropriately that I just wouldn't even.

  383. Not only do I not want your hands on me, I don't want you in my eyesight.

  384. I mean, where are you?

  385. You belong at a club who told you to dress like this?

  386. Let's be modest, good Lord, you can't walk around like the.

  387. Well, it's two of them particular.

  388. Just, I started looking for a way out, but then, finally, this couple came down and and the two of them laid hands on Gladys and I, and it was good, I received.

  389. And then chapter.

  390. Second Timothy, chapter one, talking about now neglect, not say pay attention.

  391. Second Timothy one, verse six, wherefore I put the and remembers that thou stir up the gift of God.

  392. See, it's still talking about the anointing.

  393. Stir up the gift of God, which is in thee, by the putting on of my hands.

  394. There it is.

  395. Paul wasn't bashful, he wouldn't, he didn't have false humility.

  396. He said you've got a gift that I gave you through the laying on of hands.

  397. Stir it up.

  398. Stir it up, in other words, rekindle, fan the flame, keep burning the gracious gift of God, amen.

  399. I mean, instead of complaining, instead of murmuring, instead of poor me and everybody's mistreating me, I mean hey, you've got the anointing.

  400. Come on, stir it up.

  401. Thank God, I've got the anointing.

  402. It's not the Holy Ghost, didn't just hitchhike in a cross town with me.

  403. I'm ready to minister to those that have need.

  404. Praise God, thank God for the anointing.

  405. Practice, cultivate, meditate.

  406. The Bible says in Thessalonians first, thessalonians five don't quench the Holy Ghost.

  407. What does it mean to quench it?

  408. Just shut it down.

  409. Don't grieve the Holy Ghost, make the Holy Ghost sad.

  410. Brother Osteen told the story one time he had burning in his hands that whenever he had the manifestation of burning in his hands he knew somebody needed healing and he would be looking for who it was and sometime, driving down the freeway, his hands would start burning.

  411. Invariably there's a hospital right there.

  412. He'd get off the freeway and go in the hospital and just the Holy Ghost had guide him until he'd go and until that burning subsided.

  413. I mean he just was on a mission.

  414. You know he was obeying that anointing, he was not neglecting it, he was respecting it.

  415. And then, you know process of time, you know he got busy and as people do, and I mean you know being a pastor, you're busy and going from here to there and going to the one meeting, another.

  416. And one thing he just, all of a sudden, had been in weeks and months so he hadn't felt any burning, and he got to thinking about it and he grieved him and he was crying to the Lord.

  417. He said, lord, I don't know what I've done.

  418. I want that gift.

  419. He said well, and he said you know, the last time that, you know, you kept quenching it.

  420. I mean, you know I'd burn your hands and you were on a way to a meeting and so you didn't, you didn't do what you used to do.

  421. He said you know what, I'm the one that gives those gifts and I can sure, if it's too inconvenient, I'd be glad to take it off of you.

  422. Woo Brother, those things said that publicly.

  423. Five thousand people heard him say it.

  424. Say I appreciate that kind of transparency, I appreciate that kind of heart that he's going to use his own testimony and humble himself for the benefit of the congregation.

  425. That's a true pastor, if you ask me, but I've never forgotten it.

  426. And one more little testimony in 1990, I had been ordained into the ministry in 1988 and I was working in ministry.

  427. You know I'm not full time, but you know I just sent on errands and whatever brother those things needed done.

  428. He sent me on some marriage people that are having trouble with marriage or whatever.

  429. I went to somebody's house one time with that and then I had a couple of a pastor and his wife that were hurting real bad assembly of God and they couldn't go to anybody in their town or in their church and they call brother.

  430. Oh, stan.

  431. He said I want you to go down to meet them.

  432. I didn't have an office.

  433. I took them in my car and drove around the subdivision for two and a half hours.

  434. They let them cry and let them pour out their difficulty and adultery had been committed and it was so hurt.

  435. They were hurt at each of them and they had issues and I just let them speak and I loved on them and I laid hands on them and prayed over them and they agreed that they are, you know, forgiving each other and they don't owe any explanation to their congregation.

  436. In fact that's none about anybody's business.

  437. You've already got that.

  438. It's under the blood, that's it.

  439. I mean that kind of thing.

  440. You know it was always in weddings and funerals and kind of opening, closing services and prayer was the public side of it, but there was a lot of private stuff.

  441. And anyway, in 1990, I had a dream and in the dream I was on a boat or some kind of cargo vessel.

  442. It didn't have a superstructure, it was just flat and it had cargo doors.

  443. And in the dream I happened to know it had oil in it, it was carrying oil.

  444. It wasn't a big oil tanker, it was just a boat about from here to that wall, you know 50, 60 foot long, and I recognized the ship channel, not because I've ever been on it but because of the refineries.

  445. And in the dream I just knew where I was and I'm all the way in the very rear of the boat with almost my heels almost hanging off the back and the whole boat is stretched over before me.

  446. And you know the wind in my face and the vibration through the floor.

  447. And in the dream I thought and I saw this refineries, the oil storage batteries out there, tanks and stuff, and then that vibration I thought what kind of engines under here.

  448. I'm a motor head.

  449. I had to find out what was powering this boat, and so the hatches were right in front of me.

  450. I pulled the hatches up, double hatch like that, and the heat from the manifold exhaust manifold hit me in the face and that diesel, big old diesel engine is powering that boat.

  451. And then I had another segment to the dream.

  452. It's not really relevant to this part, another segment but then after that part I woke up and so I prayed for the interpretation.

  453. It was really the first dream I'd ever had from God.

  454. That I knew was from God, first time I'd ever had a dream.

  455. And so I consulted a profit friend of mine, told him the dream and so I gave, I put a stab at it and I was pretty close.

  456. But the dream meant this that I'm discovering the power of my ministry.

  457. I wanted to see that diesel engine and I'm carrying a blend of oils of all the different ministries that had come to Lakewood Church.

  458. A blend of oils was in my vessel.

  459. You know, a vessel like that is a type of a ministry.

  460. If you're in a car, if you're on a train, if you're in an airplane, if you're on a boat.

  461. That vessel is a type of your ministry and so my ministry is loaded up with all this oil.

  462. You know, we've got pastroasting and dodie, we've got Kenneth E Hagan and TL Osburn and Orle Roberts and Norville Hayes and Charles Caps and Lester Sumerall and Kenneth Copeland.

  463. And another side one that never came to Lakewood was Derrick Prince.

  464. I got a lot out of Derrick Prince.

  465. I listen to Derrick Prince every day for years, that Cambridge English accent.

  466. And then later in his life, about I don't know 12, 15 years ago, I was glad to see I was hosting at TBN here in town and he was the guest for that day and we got to Neil in the green room and he laid hands on Gladys and I the year before he passed and went to heaven.

  467. Isn't that amazing to be able to have that, to have that oil, that blend of oil.

  468. Oh, I tell you, I treasure that.

  469. I treasure the fact that the who's who of the word of faith movement I've sat under and been able to receive and of course you know all these people.

  470. At one time or another we were either partners with them or we gave in the offering toward them, or whether that's the way that you get it.

  471. You get it by the laying on of hands and you get it by sitting under their ministry.

  472. Are you getting anything out of this laying on of hands?

  473. So I just leave you with this.

  474. Just treasure the anointing that you have and give it away as fast as you can.

  475. Come on, lift your hands and receive.

  476. Praise God, you get anything out of this tonight.

  477. Glory to God.

  478. Thank you, lord, for the laying on of hands.

  479. Thank God we've had it tonight.

  480. Thank you, jesus.
