El Shaddai 2

Let's wave our bibles and make Jesus glad, the devil mad.

Let's say this together say Heavenly Father, I am so glad for the covenant that you've cut.

I have a better covenant founded upon better promises and Lord, today, because of the Word and the Spirit, I'm being transformed as a believer in that covenant.

I'm a witness to your mercy and your grace.

I'm being changed and transformed continually to your glory.

In Jesus' name, amen, praise God, let's turn in our bibles to Galatians, chapter 3 first, and also Genesis 17.

Galatians 3 · chapter mention

And I want to continue my message on El Shaddai that we began last week and if you weren't here, be sure and get the message.

Enough of politics.

He's politicking again.

Mildred, yeah, that's right.

Genesis 17.

Genesis 3, first Hallelujah, and it says in verse 26, for you are all the children of God just by virtue of the fact that you were born into the world.

We're all the children of God, aren't we?

That's what President Bush said right after 9-11, after the Muslims blew us up.

He said we're all children of God.

They're children of God.

They're just friendly religion.

They have a good religion.

No, they don't.

No, you're only a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

That's the only way you're a child of God.

Folks, I mean just right here, black and white, all right, for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

That's not talking about water baptism.

That's talking about the baptism into Christ.

When did that occur?

When you got saved.

As soon as you were born again, the Holy Ghost took you and baptized you into Christ.

You became in Christ.

At that moment, when God looks at you, he looks at you in Christ.

So then it's imperative for us to look at ourselves in Christ.

You know that song is just.

You know I'd like there's one.

I love that song, but it's got one little phrase in there that more than we deserve, we deserve every bit of what we're getting because we're new creatures now.

We didn't deserve it before but we deserve everything now.

So get deserve out of your listen if we went by deserve.

We all deserve hell, but we're not going to hell.

We deserve what Christ deserves because why we're in Him.

It's sneaky, isn't it?

Little songs you know we have to constantly rewrite songs and we get.

These songs are really nice, but then they have a phrase in there and just goes right against what I've been preaching, goes right against what God's word says.

You know it's pretty hard to for some folk to understand what the work of the blood is.

And listen, you're not glorifying God by having false humility and saying, well, I'm just, I just need mercy, lord.

See, we're talking about that word, mercy again.

See, no, no, we're not headed to the execution chamber.

Praise God, we're in Christ.

Then it goes on to say verse 28.

There's neither junior Greek, there's neither bond or free, there's neither male nor female, there's neither black or Hispanic or Indian or any other race.

You can describe why, when you're a new creature, you're new.

I mean it has.

No, it's irrelevant.

Your skin color becomes irrelevant, your family line is irrelevant.

Why?

Because you've got a new family.

When are we going to get this?

We're not going to get in if it's not preached.

You know, we sang about the blood, but we're going to preach about the blood because the blood made all the difference.

There's neither junior Greek, there's neither bond or free, there's neither male nor female, but you are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if you be Christ, and we are, then are you Abraham, seed and heirs according to the promise?

Romans eight says that we are heirs of God and joint heirs or equal heirs with Christ.

So if God has it all and he does, then Christ has it all and he does, then we what have it all?

We're not coming up slack, we're not coming up scant, barely good, along Boulevard, barely hanging on to life, just barely able to breathe, barely able to make it.

No, no, no, we, we have eternal life.

Praise God.

All right, let's turn over Genesis 17 and let's look at these verses, and if you weren't here, get the media please.

Genesis 17, because I can't read.

Preach everything I preached last Sunday, that's one.

And when Abram was 90 years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, the Lord.

Now that word Lord, there is Jehovah.

When you see Jehovah, that implies covenant.

Jehovah is covenant, keeping God.

There's a lot of names for God.

There's Elohim, you know, we read about Almighty God here in a moment We'll talk about that.

He's got a lot of.

He's got a lot of names for himself Elohim, el-alyon, the Supreme Elohim.

But here the writer, which is Moses of Genesis, was inspired by the Holy Ghost to say the Lord, jehovah appeared.

Jehovah, the covenant side of God appeared.

Just think about Abraham.

God appeared to Abraham and said unto him I am the Almighty God, I am El-Shaddai.

Nobody ever heard of him.

See, nobody hears of anything about God unless God does what reveals it.

God reveals himself and then later on, in Exodus, numbers, deuteronomy, he reveals himself as Jehovah Shalom and Jehovah Rafa and Jehovah, all the covenant names of God.

But here to our man, abraham, when he's 99 and his wife is 90, he said I am the Almighty God, I'm El-Shaddai, which literally means the God who's more than enough.

Amen, the all-sufficient one, whoo, he never runs out.

Well, I'm gonna have.

I don't have enough right now, I'm gonna wait by next, next month, little darling, I'll have enough finances for you.

You're gonna, but until then you're gonna have to know he's got an overflowing stream.

Why isn't it here?

Because you hadn't believed it yet.

Most likely you're not talking like it.

Amen, so he's.

He's revealing himself as they all sufficient one.

The God is more than enough to Abraham, he said.

Then he goes on to say walk before me and be thou perfect or be thou blameless in the covenant.

The covenant is always two ways.

Where you get into covenant a little bit deeper, today it's a two-way covenant.

God cut the covenant with him and he's obligated himself.

But then Abraham has got his side of the covenant to perform.

He's got to obligate himself.

We have the same thing and our new coven.

We'll get into that in a little while and I will make my covenant between me and thee and will multiply thee exceedingly.

And so the word covenant there means to cut, so it implies.

But when you see the word covenant, it means blood shed.

It means blood was shed, wasn't spilled like somebody tripped and fell.

No, it was on purpose.

There was a cutting and blood was shed to back up a covenant.

And so last week we we talked about these things winded when God had revealed himself.

He could have revealed himself at any stage of this of his development.

I mean age 60.

He left, you know, or the Cal days.

He was told by God to leave his father and mother and all of his kin folk behind.

He didn't, he didn't.

He kept, kept his daddy, and then he went to Haran and sojourned in Egypt for 15 years and then, at 75, he finally, his dad died.

He was able to go on down his journey and so forth.

It was, there were stages of of his, of his dealing with Abraham over and over.

He could have, he could have revealed himself as El Shaddai, but he waited until Abraham, or Abram and Seirai that was their name at the moment had no ability to have children.

So, therefore, the promises that God had made him about his descendants being greater than this, the dust of the earth, the Sand of the seashore, the stars of heaven I mean, are you kidding me?

You talk about over and above anything you can think about it didn't seem to rank ring true.

He's old and he can't father a child, and by side that, his wife is so I said last week, double dead.

She had a dead woman.

She was a young woman.

When they married her womb was dead.

She couldn't have children and Back then they blamed God who God has restrained me from childbirth.

No, he didn't.

The devil did say they didn't know about the devil.

Well, it says that in the by.

I know it says that, but you've got to read the Old Testament with the New Testament eyes and New Testament Revelation.

We know things they didn't know.

It's progressive revelation.

The Bible is progressive revelation.

What a what an awesome Honor it is for him to have chosen us to live in the last of the last days.

I believe that all of us here present, I really believe this.

I believe we're gonna live long enough to see the door of the Gentiles be shut.

No more people getting saved.

God is gonna take the church off the earth.

You mean nobody's gonna get saved during the, during the Tribulation?

Well, not like we're saying.

They're not gonna be members of the church.

They won't be born again.

If the only way they can get saved is to avoid the mark of the beast, they'll go to heaven, but they'll never be new creatures like you and I.

Let me tell you something we are part of a mighty Number that are going to be Revered in all of eternity.

We're not very much revered right now.

I know that's not my motive or your motive, either one, but I'm just telling you what, what a status we have, and we didn't do anything to deserve it.

Who did Jesus?

Did it all for us, all right.

So here she is.

She's unable to have a child, even if he's able to father one, and God said don't worry about that, I'm El Shaddai, I'm the God.

That's more than enough.

I've got more than enough power to release over you two old people that a ARP will ask you to resign.

And if you're a member of that thing, stop it, because it's a liberal, crummy, left-wing organization.

Anyway, I've meddled enough for one day.

All right, here we go, so.

So we talked about that.

They had to change their name so they could talk back.

Talk right, he.

He named him Abraham, which means father of many nations, named her Sarah, which means mother of all living, or princess, and Within 90 days, let the record record that, within 90 days of this visitation, they conceived a baby Isaac, the child of promise.

Through Isaac, so what, he'd good.

And come through ish mail.

That was a child of Abraham, all right, but that's not the seed of promise.

God, god gate made that very clear.

So we see this mighty power.

We talked about how that a young they were, that that before she became pregnant, a A bimilek wanted to bring her into his harem.

A 90 year old woman Are you kidding me?

No, she didn't look 90 anymore.

We, as we sell the word of God short, we sell L Shout I short almost every day of our life.

Because why?

Because we've been raised in a in a negative connotation.

God is mad, god is mean, god is judgmental, god is looking to hit us in the head.

No, god is.

He has already released all these blessings on.

He said if you'll just do your part of the cut this is old covenant, by the way and Deuteronomy 28.

He said if you'll just observe, do everything I've told you and keep the covenant, all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you.

I mean, they will chase you down the road.

What's why come?

They haven't made it because you hadn't received them.

You're not.

You're not receiving them.

See, I, the purpose of this message is to get your receiver built to where you can start to open up your spirit and realize how big God is and how much he wants to get you the blessing he wants to put you on display, amen, and show the rest of this world that's perishing, that there is a God in heaven and that it pays to serve him, it pays to love him, it pays to become a.

You know, get born again and come into the kingdom, amen, all right.

So all through the Bible we see this, this, this idea of overflow.

You know Psalm 23 my cup overflows.

He talks about Jesus said giving.

It'll be given unto you.

Good measure, pressed down, shaking, they got the running over.

I Mean all through the Bible.

We talked about the loaves and the fishes 20,000 people.

They were eight till they were gorged on the multiplication.

He, he didn't just give them a snack out there in the wilderness, he gave them a bountiful feast and they filled themselves till they couldn't eat anymore.

And they took up 12 baskets left over, enough for leftovers next day.

And Then he did it again with the 4,000.

Are y'all with me now?

Talked about them?

The the boat, luke, chapter 5 or.

Luke 5 · chapter mention

He bored Peters both to preach off of and then, after he was through preaching, he said well, just launch out here in the deep and and let down your nets For a draft or for a catch and said Lord, I, you know, we've toyed all the night.

We've taken nothing.

Nevertheless, at thy word, I will.

In other words, it's daytime.

Nobody catches fish in the daytime, and certainly not here.

This is not the place to fish, this is the place where I'm cleaning my nets.

But okay, if you say so.

And he let down one net and they got what a net breaking, boat sinking partners training, mind-blowing catch.

And Peter says oh, depart from me, I'm a sinful man.

Say he knew he wasn't really believing, he knew he was just Humoring Jesus.

He didn't have any expectation.

Come on, let's be true about it, he didn't have any expectation.

Expectation that anything would change is nevertheless, at thy word, I will.

Another, I'm just obedient, I'll do what I'm told.

No, that's not what God expects me, wants us to be obedient, but he wants us to expect what he said to come to pass.

Depart from me, oh Lord, I'm a sinful man.

It's, I don't worry about it.

From hit, from now on, you're gonna catch men.

We're catching men and women.

We're catching men, women and children.

I'm telling you we've got the net out, we've left the net down for a draft.

We're getting them out of every aspect of life.

I mean, you know, we decided no, the politicians need to get saved too.

We're a witness in the political realm.

We're a witness in the, in every, every realm, not just picking and choosing which realm, a man.

And so Jesus said it this way in John, chapter 10.

John 10 · chapter mention

He said the thief cometh not before to steal, kill and destroy, but don't get me mixed up with him.

I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.

Life is life as God lives it.

Zoe, I Came to give it to you more abundantly.

Purisos is the Greek and it means super, abundant in quantity, superior in quality.

He's the God of more than enough.

He's El Shaddai to you and I, as much as he was to Abraham, and he lives on the inside, because God is one.

He has three persons, but he's one.

There's just one God, and he's three persons.

And so the Holy Ghost is the person that lives inside of us, right in here.

And the Holy Ghost lives inside of us Corporately, and guess who that is?

It's El Shaddai.

It's the God is more than enough.

Oh, so we went over all these things last week.

In other words, the God of too much and too nice.

You know, our God is excessive.

See, we have a negative connotation.

I mentioned this last week.

When we say that it's, there's a little kind of a catch.

It was there in me too.

I mean, we have this religious idea of God that you know that's kind of wrong to want that, because you know that's just greed.

No, it's not greed to have what God has earmarked for us, it's greed to go out and try to make it happen with a credit card.

I, how you been.

No, you've got a, you've got a.

You didn't, you didn't start off your, your, your career in education as a high school senior used probably started off in kindergarten.

They didn't even I'm so old, they didn't have kindergarten when I started off, they just had first grade.

I have a little great, great niece that I got a picture of four years old stand out in the front yard next to her mommy and and she's all grinning because she's gonna Go to pre-k.

See, she's not a senior in high school, she's going to, she's a pre k.

She's, and probably her mother's, already taught her to read.

I mean, that's these kids today.

I think mommy's that she's a stay-at-home mom and she taught.

I'm sure she knows how to read, and it took me till second grade to learn how to read.

You know, in that generation we just didn't learn.

These things are early on.

Well, you're not gonna learn everything you need to know at first either.

It's gonna take a while, amen.

So he's the god of too much and too nice.

It's not greed to have what God tells us to have.

I mean, he's got more than enough health.

He's got more than enough peace.

He's got more than enough, amen.

Finances, all right.

So he's excessive.

Our God's it.

So you get to know, you know him as he really is.

You realize he's got more than enough of anything.

It is that you require.

All right, let's look at today at Second Corinthians, excuse me, second Samuel, chapter 9 in the Old Testament.

2 Samuel 9 · chapter mention

We're gonna look at this idea of covenant.

Second Samuel, chapter 9, verse 1, and this is the story of David.

2 Samuel 9:1

David has just been crowned king of all Israel, that's, the northern and the southern kingdom.

You know, remember, at first he was just the king over Judah, and the house of Saul resisted him, even though Saul and Jonathan were both dead, killed in battle on the same day.

The house of Saul resisted mainly because the, the head of the army, Abner, just didn't want to give in, and so there was war between the two houses of David and Saul, long war, and then finally it turned to where David became king of a whole thing.

They finally gave up.

Abner was killed and the only other son of Saul is both.

Seth was murdered by his own people and so he became the king of the whole deal.

Just like God had prophesied, and it says here in verse 1, david said, as king now of the whole thing, is there any that is left of the house of Saul that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake, that I may show him kindness?

Now, that word kindness is Not kindness.

Like you know, like we understand kindness again, as I mentioned last week, there are Greek words and Hebrew words for which English has very little Interpretation.

They can't find an English word that gives you the sense of the Greek or the Hebrew.

They have that in common.

So this Hebrew word, translated kindness, sometimes is just as count, its try translated mercy, it's translated Compassion, but it's the, the Hebrew word hessed hard H.

You kind of have to to say it, right, you have to kind of growl a little bit.

Yes, it Not?

He said that's South Texas.

South Texas, says he said, but I don't speak Hebrew, but I've heard it spoken and it's hesset kind of a hard, kind of a growly H and it it means a covenant obligation.

It means that when someone is going to perform Hesed for you as part of their covenant they have with you, they cannot not grant it.

Not doing it is not an option.

Why the blood has been shed.

Now see, we don't know that in our Western sterilized society we don't have a culture of blood covenants and the further we get from God, the the more further we get away from the blood.

You know, there's churches that never even sing about the blood.

We sang about the blood.

Today we talk about the blood.

We preach about the blood.

We sing about the blood.

Why?

Because our covenant comes from the blood of Christ.

Our redemption is because of the blood of Christ.

If we get away from the blood, we get away from everything that is real.

But what you have to understand is once that blood is shed and once that covenant is entered into, there's no option for the partners in that Covenant.

They have to perform, has said toward each other, they have to give what is required.

So let's.

So there's evidently there's something he said for Jonathan's sake.

Well, let's turn back.

Second Samuel, a First Sam, excuse me.

First Samuel 18.

Hold your place there in 20, because we're gonna go back there.

But first Samuel 18.

And this is back when.

Remember Goliath you know, david is young man.

He killed Goliath as a teenager and the maids of Israel started singing about him.

They were smitten by the young man.

I mean, he's a hero.

And they're singing about him and dancing around in the streets and saying, oh, you know, saul has killed his thousands and David is 10,000.

Well, you know, david heard that got jealous.

He's a goofball, insecure.

God knew that when he selected him.

He knew he had heart trouble.

He knew he wasn't really up to the task.

The reason he chose him is because Israel was sinned in warning a king.

God wanted to be the king and he wanted to use judges.

You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

He never intended to Israel have a king, and and and Samuel the prophet protested.

You know he God told him to go ahead and give it to him.

See, be careful what you demand.

They demanded a king.

God gave them kings and if you go back and look at the record of the kings, none of them live that long, even the ones that did right with.

Most of them did wrong.

Most of them were failures, if you really want to know the truth.

But none of them lived as long as Abraham.

He, I think last week I said 150 acts, was 175.

He lived 175 years old and had a bunch of kids.

You know.

He learned how to be a daddy I guess 175.

She, sarah, lived 127.

None of the kings live that long 60, 70 years old.

You can't find some of them, 50, see, being a king.

All of the reproach comes on you.

I mean, when you do wrong it comes on your head.

And I'm not saying God killed him, I'm saying that they get out from under God's protection.

All right, so and say and first, samuel 18, verse 3 so Jonathan, david, jonathan is a son of Saul and Jonathan and David made a covenant because he, jonathan, loved David as his own soul.

He loved him and he saw that his daddy was not treating John David correctly.

He saw that his dad was unfair, pity, and also he was being troubled by demons.

And the only way that he got relief is when David came into the house and played his harp and began to sing the Psalms and the devil would take his hands off, the demons would take their hands off of Saul, he'd have some peace.

So I mean, on David's side, he walked in love towards Saul.

He did everything he could as part of the kingdom to honor the king.

But Jonathan saw that he wasn't treated fairly.

And so then in chapter 20, verse Samuel 20, let's look at that one, verse 18.

So they cut the covenant, verse 13.

It says in the last part of verse 13, and the Lord be with thee, as he hath been with my father, and thou shalt not only, while yet I live, show me the kindness of the Lord.

What is that word Kindness?

It's hessed.

Even while I live, you're going to show me the kindness of the Lord.

Now I want you to know something.

While he lived, while Jonathan lived, he wasn't in any position to help Jonathan.

He's on the run.

He's running for his life.

He's hiding in a cave.

He became the leader of a group of men, 400 men that were, you know, in debt, discontented, you know, just a bunch of losers.

I mean, he couldn't help Jonathan.

Jonathan couldn't gain anything by cutting a covenant with David.

David was the gainer.

David was the one gaining influence from Jonathan.

Jonathan covered for David long enough for him to get out of town and hide from Saul.

So he's saying to them and you shall, not only, while yet I live, show me the kindness of the Lord that I die not, but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness, thy hessed.

You will not cut off your hessed from my house for 10 years, forever From my house.

Forever, no, not when the Lord hath cut off the enemies of David, everyone from the face of the earth.

So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David saying Let the Lord even require it of the hand of David's enemies.

Woo, let the Lord.

Where did the Lord come in?

Because those covenants were always in the presence of God.

Now, just briefly, a covenant that when they cut the covenant, it says in there that they exchanged coats, they exchanged weapons, they cut their hands or their wrists and they joined their hands when we get the handshake from.

And then they lifted their hand to heaven like this and the blood ran down their forearm and they swear that hessed will be in effect to their entire family line forever.

And God is the third witness between the two.

So God is watching over everyone.

This is what happened in all the ancient civilizations it wasn't just the Jews, I mean, all of the ancient civilizations had this type of custom of blood covenant.

We have not had that in America.

It's not part of our culture, and so we're ignorant about how solemn and how sure it is.

That's why I'm teaching this, because it has everything to do with you receiving everything that Jesus blood has bought and paid for.

He cannot not bless you.

Woo, come on, that's time to shout right there.

Everybody say he cannot not.

Well, I just don't know.

If I don't know if the Lord will.

Yes, you do, yes, you do.

You think it's going to bother him?

You think it's going to bankrupt heaven for you to have a new car when your other one is just running on fumes and fenders are flapping.

Cars are made a little better than they used to be, but they used to just rust out so bad that the fenders would flap.

I knew one guy that had baling wire.

He tied his front fender on with baling wire and duct tape.

Otherwise, you know, he's driving down the freeway and his fender is going like this.

I had a Mercedes Benz, five cylinder diesel.

You know, I claimed it because my other car was war out.

And God, you know I've sewn cars.

It's time for me to reap a car.

I have a need right now.

This car that I've got has got 280,000 miles on it.

I just signed a contract to build a house in Rosenberg, texas, 57 miles each way from my house to that job site, and I said I don't have any confidence that it's going to last.

I mean, it's war out.

I need another car.

And so, lord, I know you've got a car for me.

I'm not particular about what color, what kind, just a car that runs.

I mean, I saw my face.

I was not believing for a Mercedes, I can tell you that.

But this Mercedes had 160,000 miles on it as a diesel and it's just getting broken.

It did run like a top and it had a mashed in door and the guy fixed the door, fixed the crack windshield.

I mean he did not give me a one-eyed lamb, he gave me a perfect car and I drove that thing and put 300,000 miles on it toward the end of its life.

You know we're driving, you know, to Lakewood four times a week back and forth, back and forth.

I got a letter in the mail from the Texas Air Quality Board.

It says Mr Griner, you were spotted on 610 East with a massive amount of smoke coming from your tailpipe.

Please have your car serviced or remove its presence off of the roads.

Thank you very much.

So help me.

I mean that thing was so worn out by the time I got rid of it.

I mean it would pour out smoke.

I mean it was so worn out In order to shut it off.

If I shut it off, I couldn't start it again when we started the church.

We started the church in January and that was my car for three months and I'd wait for everybody to leave the church and then I'd go out in the parking lot, pop the hood and squirt ether down the intake so that I could turn the motor off and it would explode.

Boom, you know.

And then it would start and I could drive home.

Is that abundant life that El Shaddai have something better for me?

And he did.

He performed Praise God, all right.

So El Shaddai is all about covenant, to cut the shedding of blood.

David and Jonathan shed blood and Jonathan required him to do kindness to his family line even after he was dead, and also David's enemies, and he prophesied essentially that David was going to be the king and all his enemies were going to die, which was included him and his daddy.

Think about that prophecy.

Think about what he was believing he was going against his father.

So blood covenants, everybody say the blood is real.

This wasn't the Mosaic covenant.

This was a covenant between two individuals, two individuals.

I mean it didn't have anything to do with the Mosaic law and all of that and the law and all that kind of thing.

So let's go back to 2 Samuel 9.

So he said is there anybody that I can show kindness to left in the house of Saul?

I mean, the house of Saul is vanquished, they're defeated.

The other son is dead, you know, he just knows.

But what's weighing on him?

Well, that has said he's got blood, a blood covenant that's outstanding and he's got to inquire as to is there anybody left that I owe something to?

I need to pay this debt?

I cannot not bless Jonathan's land, which happens to be Saul's land, all right, so in verse 2 Samuel 9, verse 3.

2 Samuel 9:3

And the king said is there not yet any of the house of Saul that I may show the kindness, the hesset of God under him, of God, see the hesset of God.

Why?

Because God was the third person, third part of the covenant and David knew that in order to really be able to perform adequately, he needed to tap into what El Shaddai you know.

El Shaddai will back you up if you're a person of your word.

When you sign your name to something, you ought to do the best you can Instead of finding ways to escape.

See our culture.

I mean, you know, I grew up with sports heroes.

You know Mickey Mantle.

I love Mickey Mantle.

He was a New York Yankee all the way through.

He didn't move to, you know, canada, toronto.

He didn't become a Toronto Blue Jay.

He's a New York Yankee his entire life.

See, it's different now.

They just go where the money goes.

They're not faithful to anything.

They're faithful to their own bank account.

I can't blame them, but it's an example of the opposite of what I'm talking about here this morning.

You've got to understand God's not like that.

If he said it, he will do it.

If he spoke it, he will make it good and he'll help you make your agreements good if you'll trust him.

So he said is there any in?

Zeba said under the King Jonathan hath, yet a son which is lame on his feet.

The word Lodibar there means no pasture.

If you live in a place of no pasture, that means you have no wealth, because there's no, there's no money there, there's no animals, there's no crops.

I mean it's an agricultural society.

You know, they're not making electric cars, they're not manufacturing washing machines.

So the wealth is agriculture, the wealth is sheep and cattle and goats and all of that ox, and then the crops.

Lodibar means there's none of that, none of that.

So then King David sent and fetched him out of the house of Baker, the son of Amiel from Lodibar.

Now, when Mephibosheth, I'm going to, if you don't mind, I'm going to call him Phoebe, because Mephibosheth, you know, I have to wet my face, you know, mephibosheth.

So, phoebe, when Phoebe, the son of Saul, was coming to David, he fell on his face and did reverence.

And David said Phoebe, and he answered.

He answered Behold, I servant these, lame on his feet, he can't walk.

And David said unto him Fear not, for I will surely show thee hessed for Jonathan, thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul, thy father and or thy grandfather and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually, continually.

He's son of the vanquished.

All of Saul's land was absorbed by David.

David is the king.

They have nothing.

He's living on charities, living in somebody else's house in a place that's destitute.

He's eating whatever chicken feed or whatever they can bring him.

Been to Philippines.

They had chicken feet hanging up all over the biggest mall in Manila, on the food court, food court six stories.

I never saw so many chicken feet in all my life, but I don't know.

They, those people eat it.

Fried chicken feet Wouldn't be my, my pick.

I Would rather eat at the king's table.

And so, and Then the king Called to Zeba, saul's servant, and said unto him I have given unto thy master son all that pertain to Saul and to all his house.

Thou, therefore, and thy sons and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shall bring in the fruits that thy master son may have food to eat, but, phoebe, thy master son shall eat bread always at my table.

Now.

Zeba had 15 sons and 20 servants.

Suddenly now they're all Phoebe's.

There's suddenly all Phoebe sons and suddenly all of Saul's former territory that he had when he was king.

It belongs to Phoebe.

He's no longer broke in Lodobar, he's sitting at the king's table and he's a man of means.

But he doesn't even have to tap that to eat.

He's gonna eat at the king's table.

Phoebe, said the king.

He shall eat at my table as one of the king's sons.

He just changed families.

He just moved out of the vanquished into the victor.

Micah's really got his hand raised up back there.

I mean, he was the son of a poor guy that's lame in his feet in Lodobar and now he is the heir apparent of everything his great-grandfather saw a Master's king of Israel, come on, lift your hand right now.

And all that dwelt in the house of Zebra were servants under Phoebe.

So Phoebe dwelt in Jerusalem, for he did eat Continuity at the king's table and was lame on both his feet.

If he only knew how to tap that that covenant fully say he could.

He didn't have to stay late.

But they said again the Bible's progressive revelation is no, I'm much about healing, but healing was part of the old covenant.

He's part of the old covenant, but this covenant not even the old covenant this covenant is a covenant between Jonathan and David.

Are you seeing the power of this, the power of the blood covenant?

Well, we've got a much better covenant, much better covenant, and hardly any comparison.

So I mean, look at the servant.

He's got all these servants, he's got all this land, he's got crops coming in, income coming in.

He's got something to give his son.

But before that I just wanted to share this message About Hesad and about our covenant so that we could really, by faith, remember.

Jesus said do this in remembrance of me.

The word remember is a covenant term.

What happened?

Jonathan remembered his covenant.

I mean, david remembered his covenant with Jonathan.

He remembered it when he was, so to speak, fat and sassy.

Years of battle, years of running for his life.

Then he got to be king over part of the Prop, the part of it, and then seven and a half years later he became king of all of it, defeated the Philistines twice and everything is cool.

And and then suddenly he remembered Remember is a covenant term.

Remember when the children of Israel there in Genesis, they were or exodus, rather in exodus, they, in chapter 3, god came down.

He had heard their cry.

God remembered a covenant with Abraham and he heard the cry of the children of Israel in Egypt, under the whip of the Egyptians as slaves.

And God remembered the covenant with Abraham and he heard the cry of the children of Israel in Egypt.

God remembered the covenant with Abraham.

Aren't you glad?

God remembered it and he came down to deliver his people.

Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 12.

If you're Jew, it doesn't apply to you.

Then you were Jew.

Well, I'm a completed you.

I'm a Messianic Jew.

Well, I don't even like that term, because the Bible says there's no more Jew or Greek.

That's.

That's one of arguments that I've had with Jewish people who get saved, rabbis and so forth and so on.

They hold on to Judy their Judaism.

I'm be a proud German, irish, cajun, whatever I am Hines 57, most of us.

So anyway, remember that in time past you were Gentiles in the flesh who were called un-circumcision by that which is called the circumcision, the Jews in the flesh made by hands.

That at that time See, when you were lost, at that time he always, always, would have remembered when you used to be lost.

Don't forget that.

Don't get so sanctified that you can't remember what it was like to be lost, that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

But now, in Christ Jesus, you, who were sometimes far off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Isn't that a picture?

Isn't Mephibosheth a picture of our salvation?

He had nothing to offer David.

David had nothing to offer Jonathan.

The debt came later and, thank God the two you know Jonathan performed his end of the bargain.

He ran interference for David.

I mean, he did everything he could, he tried to persuade his father.

He did everything right and then, later on, the debt was.

I say a debt.

Because why?

Because he obligated himself in a covenant.

Are you with me now?

Well, jesus paid the price to get us out of Lodibor.

We've been brought out.

We're no longer alone and without hope in the world.

Thank God, we're sitting at the King's table.

We're enjoying the King's meat.

Come on, lift your hands right there.

Thank God for His mercy.

Now we have a little better insight about mercy.

Mercy is not this on your way to the gas chamber, may God have mercy on your soul.

But it's a covenant obligation.

And I'm gonna tell you something God gets delight when His people know what is do them, when they make a legal request.

We could call it a demand.

We're not demanding of God, we're simply reminding Him.

Remember what you said, and I need it now, and then you can say I believe I receive it now.

See, then, when you receive it, you really do receive it.

You might not see any difference right away, but when you believe you receive, you did it based on His Word, based on what he said Amen, praise God, thank you Lord, thank you Jesus.

So, as we get together right now and let's go back to Matthew, we're gonna receive communion together.

We're gonna seal up this part of the message.

I feel like there's other aspects of this.

That's the great thing about being a pastor I don't have to.

I can just kind of go with the flow.

There might be something else that comes along, but I've been thinking about some other aspects of has said that we need to look at.

But I wanna read to you what Jesus said on the night before he was crucified he was eating with His disciples and a covenant, always between two parties, depending on the parties.

If you had a very strong party and a very weak party, then there was a lot of communication or negotiation that had to be said.

If I'm gonna use my influence over and bless someone, why am I doing it.

Well, partly because I love them but partly because I need what they can supply me back, and sometimes that, in Jonathan's case, he didn't need anything right then, what he was concerned about was his lineage.

You're gonna do kindness to my lineage.

You're gonna do kindness to my descendants forever, and not only that, you're gonna require it of your enemies.

When you defeat your enemies, you're gonna make them get involved in that.

Oh, lord of God, it kind of reminds me of Elisha asking for the double portion.

Boy, you've asked a hard thing.

Well, you know he had sown to it.

Thank God, he knew what he had coming.

Elijah could not not give him that.

Oh hallelujah, thank you, lord.

So they're negotiating and he's telling them, preparing them for when he's leaving.

And verse 26, matthew 26.

As they were eating, jesus took bread and blessed it, broke it and gave it to his disciples and said take and eat.

This is my body.

Jesus became our substitute.

The Jewish fellowship, highest fellowship, was eating around a meal, a Seder meal.

It's a time of intimacy.

They spoke in terms of the covenant.

This is blind us in the Western society.

It's not at part of our culture.

So we don't understand the significance of the word.

We don't understand the significance of the word.

But the words point to blood.

It points to substitute.

What did David become?

He became a substitute for Jonathan.

He said okay, your daddy's dead, but I'll take his place.

You're gonna sit at my table.

As a son, I've got control of all your grandfathers and father's property.

Your father didn't ever get the property because the grandfather and father died the same day.

It really is your property, but that was interrupted because of me.

But I'm gonna give it to you like it never happened.

So really, I'm giving it to you.

So I'm substitute.

So Jonathan wasn't there, but David became a substitute.

Are y'all following what I'm telling you?

We don't get it, though.

We don't get it in our Western society.

We don't understand substitution identification.

But that's what blood covenant was all about.

He said I'm gonna be your substitute.

This is my body, which will be broken for you in another translation.

Take, eat.

This is my body, which shall be broken for you in your place.

And so let's judge our bodies, our physical bodies.

If there's sickness there, there's hesset, by his stripes, you were healed.

If there's lack there and lack of finances.

Hey, my God shall supply all your need according to his riches and glory, by Christ Jesus.

I've not seen the righteous begging bread, the righteous forsaken or received begging bread.

I've never seen it.

Let's judge ourselves.

Let's judge our flesh.

Is there a need there?

Is there a physical need?

Is there a mental need?

Are you suffering from lack of sleep?

Are you suffering in any way, shape or form?

I mean, jesus was broken so we could be whole.

And this blood covenant, he said do this in remembrance.

I mean, remember the covenant that you've got.

You're in covenant with El Shaddai.

Not only that, he lives on the inside of you.

You don't.

It's not like he's way up there and you're way down here.

No, he's right here with you.

Holy Ghost is just as much El Shaddai as the God that appeared to Abraham that day Later on, jesus in his pre-incarnate form asked Sarah, or Sarah?

She was already Sarah or already had her name changed.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

When she laughed at the prospect of becoming pregnant, he said you laughed, oh, no, I didn't.

Yes, you did, no, I didn't.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

Let's just take this bread and let's remember the covenant, with whom we have the covenant.

He's the cutter of the covenant.

Let's take the bread and receive the benefit, black wise.

He took the cup, he gave thanks and gave it to them, saying drink all of it, for this is my blood.

Of the New Testament, which is said for the remission of sins, the blood of bulls and goats covered sin.

I like what Brother Osteen used to say about the Old Covenant they were saved on credit.

You have to think about that a while.

Their sin was just covered.

It wasn't done away with.

That's why they had so much trouble.

That's why they sinned over and over and over and over and had.

The blood that had to be shed of bulls and goats was incalculable.

In fact, when they dedicated Solomon's temple, they killed so many animals you couldn't measure how much blood.

There was so much blood flowing.

Why?

Because that's how much sin had to be covered by that blood.

It was just covered.

But Jesus one time shed his blood one time, forever, and remitted, paid in full, erased, blotted out our sin.

There's no more remembrance of the sin.

God doesn't have a record of you ever having sinned.

So since he keeps short accounts with us, we need to keep short accounts with each other.

Maybe somebody's offended you.

We'll forgive them and get them move on down the road.

Don't hang on to offense, don't hang on to trouble.

You're cheating yourself.

You're cheating yourself when you don't forgive.

You have to forgive.

You forgive If any's wronged you.

We've wronged the Lord.

Did he forgive us?

Yes, and he did something better than we can do, because we can't really.

We don't have the capacity to forget.

We have the capacity to think about something else, but God forgets.

He's God.

He can do anything except lie.

He does not remember.

He literally does not remember your sin, so don't ever remind him of it.

Instead, remember the blood that he shed for you.

Lord, we forgive those that have wronged us.

We hold no grudges because you've forgiven us and you don't remember our sins.

We thank you for the precious blood.

Let's take it.
