-
Let's lift our Bibles up, wave them around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad.
-
Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, I'm so glad to be here today.
-
Thank God for the Word of God, thank God for the Holy Ghost.
-
It's the Word and the Spirit working together in my life to bring me into victory and keep me.
-
Oh Lord, I've committed my life to you and you've kept me all this time in Jesus' name.
-
Thank God, he's our keeper.
-
You can be seated.
-
Let's look at 1 John, chapter four and chapter five.
-
They're right there next to each other, and we're gonna continue our message on the overcomer.
-
Thank God that we.
-
God just counts us as that.
-
I mean, that's what he calls us.
-
1 John, chapter four, in verse four, you are of God, little children, and have overcome them.
-
Now, who's the them he's talking about?
-
Well, he's talking about the spirits that roam around this earth, if you read up the previous verses, and of course that includes the devil.
-
So you are of God, little children, and have overcome them.
-
Or you've overcome Him because greater.
-
Because what?
-
Because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
-
The greater one lives on the inside.
-
Even baby Christians can overcome the enemy.
-
When you think about it, the moment we're saved and come out of darkness and delight, out of death and to life, the moment we're saved, that's the greatest moment of overcoming.
-
Right there, the devil had total control and all of a sudden, god just delivered you.
-
He've overcome.
-
Well, I thought Jesus, what Jesus did it, but it's marked to your credit.
-
It's as if you did it.
-
See, all the redemption hinges on identification, substitution.
-
You start thinking about things correctly.
-
It won't always be God doing this and God doing that Really in God's eyes.
-
I know Jesus did it, but you did it.
-
Hello, you know it'll change your prayer life and keep you from begging God to do a bunch of stuff he's already done.
-
Amen, when you see yourself accurately, how, what's accurate?
-
Well, the word.
-
That's how you see yourself.
-
Everybody say I am an overcomer, I'm not gonna be an over, I am an overcomer, all right.
-
And then first, john 5, 4.
-
For whatsoever, or better, whosoever, is born of God, everybody shout that's me.
-
Overcome is the world.
-
I mean, it's just a fact.
-
If you're born again, you overcome the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith, and so the overcomer.
-
I wanted to get into this.
-
We talked about it last week.
-
If you weren't here, make sure you get the podcast, get the media and listen to the first part of the message.
-
We're gonna go into the second part today.
-
But because of Jesus, we're all overcomers.
-
You know, I think about John 1633, jesus said this to the disciples.
-
They didn't understand the import of what he said.
-
Remember what Jesus told me.
-
He says you know, I've got so many things to share with you, but you're not able to bear them now.
-
See why?
-
Because they weren't saved yet.
-
But you know, he's looking through His crucifixion to our day in John 1633.
-
He said in the world, you shall have tribulation, trouble, you're gonna have trouble.
-
I mean, he said it, I didn't say it In the world.
-
See, we're in the world, but we're not what Of it?
-
But we're in it and we're gonna have trouble.
-
I mean this just comes with the territory.
-
Instead of wondering, being so amazed at the trouble, people are amazed right now at how much trouble there is, and sometimes that trouble is aimed right at us and if we're not careful, we can be amazed at the wrong thing.
-
Let's not be amazed at the trouble.
-
Let's be amazed at the amazing grace, the amazing power, the amazing authority that we have, the greater one is only inside me.
-
In the world.
-
You shall have tribulation, but be of good courage.
-
I have overcome the world.
-
The Amplified says I've deprived of His power to harm you.
-
I have conquered it for you.
-
Oh, my goodness Now.
-
They didn't understand that, but now we can get some light on that.
-
Now John was there when he said it and now fast forward.
-
Now John is saved and filled with a holy ghost.
-
He's an apostle and he's gained some revelation of what Jesus meant.
-
So he's writing to the church here with that revelation.
-
We're overcomers.
-
Anybody that's born of God, anybody that's born again, has got the greater one lives in them and they overcome the world.
-
And then, of course, this is the victory that overcomeeth the world, even our faith.
-
Every believer has been dealt the measure of faith Romans 12, 3.
-
You've got the measure of faith it took for you to get saved.
-
It hasn't gone anywhere.
-
You still have it.
-
If you're wise, you'll keep building on it.
-
You'll exercise that faith and cause it to get stronger and cause it to be more effective.
-
You know, anybody can grow in faith.
-
We don't have to just stay the same.
-
We ought to be growing, like the Thessalonian church.
-
Their faith grows exceedingly.
-
Paul said so.
-
But it doesn't take a whole big mountain of faith to move a mountain, it just takes a seed, if you have faith as a seed.
-
When I looked up that word, faith there in 1st John 5.4, it's called a weapon of war, and when I saw that you know that's what the implication of the Greek is your faith is a weapon of war.
-
We, each of us, have weapons of mass destruction.
-
That's what I like to think about.
-
I think about us having weapons of mass destruction.
-
Hallelujah Jesus destroyed the devil.
-
He destroyed him that had the power of death, and Hebrews 2.14 it says he destroyed him that had the power of death.
-
We were all our lifetime subject to the fear of death and Jesus rendered him null and void.
-
He re Jesus at the cross and when he rose from the dead, rendered the devil null and void, amen.
-
Now we talk a lot about the devil, but always think about him as fact, that he's basically.
-
He's been just, he's been dethroned.
-
You know he was a king, but now he's.
-
He's dethroned, he's been defanged.
-
He was as a lion, but he doesn't have any teeth.
-
Now About the most he can do is gum you to death, amen.
-
And so this faith that we have enables us to overcome the world.
-
It's like a weapon.
-
Of what mass destruction?
-
And, of course, what's in the world?
-
Well, we talked about that.
-
There's the devil and demon powers, there's sin, there's sickness, there's there's all kinds of trouble, seeming impossibilities.
-
Have you ever come up against something that seems impossible, that's been thrown at you?
-
Well, listen, you know you're well, well able to overcome that.
-
Why?
-
Because the greater one lives inside, amen.
-
You know, when you get a whole revelation of the overcoming life, you'll get to the place where you can laugh at these things, instead of crying, instead of having a pity party, instead of being amazed at the trouble.
-
The news came and, oh, instead of that, you get this.
-
You're so grounded in this word that you can actually laugh at the trouble, and it just goes.
-
When it hears you laugh, it's looking for a place to hide.
-
I mean, you know that's the devil.
-
He's afraid of you, he's afraid of the believer that knows who he is in Christ, amen.
-
And so last week we talked about, you know, that the believer, or that the overcomer, rather same thing thinks right, talks right and then, of course, walks right.
-
So those three things are the marks of the overcomer.
-
You know, you say, when something happens, you say you know, if I can't get over you, I'm going to get under you, if I can't get under you, I'm going to get around you.
-
If I can't get around you, I'm coming through.
-
You See, that's what an overcomer says.
-
You say, you start saying it Well, I don't feel.
-
Yeah, see, that's the whole point of faith.
-
You say it when it doesn't feel that way.
-
You know, faith doesn't go by feelings.
-
Faith doesn't go by the five senses.
-
I don't consult my five senses, I consult the Word of God.
-
I consult the greater one on the inside.
-
Now let's look at Revelation, chapter 12.
Revelation 12 chapter mention
-
I want to shift gears and build on what we talked about last week.
-
We're coming at it from a little different standpoint.
-
There again, john is still writing this and this is toward the end of his life, in his nineties, been banished to the Isle of Potmos.
-
Revelation, chapter 12, verse seven, and he gives us some information here.
Revelation 12 chapter mention
-
And there was war in heaven.
-
Did you know we're in a war?
-
You know, we sang Holy Ghost.
-
We talked about being in the army of God.
-
I mean, you know we're in the army man.
-
You're in the army, you get shot at, you get shot at.
-
There was war in heaven.
-
Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the dragon fought in his angels and prevailed not.
-
He prevailed not.
-
Neither was there place found any more in heaven Talk about getting dethroned.
-
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan.
-
Just in case you thought he was talking about a real dragon, he's talking about an entity that a whole lot of Christians don't even believe exists.
-
How stupid are you?
-
Do you not read your Bible?
-
Well, that's just a fables.
-
Okay, good, how's that working for you, especially this time of the year when everybody's celebrating death and darkness?
-
I never saw say it just seems like every year it gets darker and darker.
-
I mean, people just go crazy about Halloween.
-
Well, we're having Hallelujah Day, we celebrate life, we celebrate Jesus.
-
Anyway, that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth 98% of the world, 49% of the world, the whole world.
-
He's you know.
-
I will give him credit.
-
He does know how to deceive and he is an enemy and we need we need not to underestimate his power to deceive.
-
And so he deceived at the whole world.
-
He was cast out into the earth and his angels were cast out with him, and I heard a loud voice saying in heaven now, everybody shout.
-
Now, see, this is a now word for right now.
-
See, this was written 2000 years ago and the now is extended to right now.
-
This is an age in which this is real.
-
This applies to you and me, not just back there 2000 years ago.
-
In fact, if anything, it applies to us even more so.
-
Why we keep reading?
-
Now has come salvation and strength in the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ for, or because why the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God, day and night.
-
That's where he used to be.
-
He used to be able to do that.
-
He used to have access to the throne of God to accuse us.
-
He doesn't have any more access, but he does have access where?
-
To your brain tissue, and day and night he is going to accuse you, he is going to harass you.
-
What a could, a should, a?
-
Then we got to think right.
-
It goes back to last week.
-
You know, you're, you're.
-
You've got to develop a way of thinking that's consistent with the Word of God and they overcame him.
-
Who's they?
-
The ones that have been accused as the believers, the brethren?
-
They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they love, not their lives unto the death.
-
Therefore, about this now word, therefore rejoice, rejoice.
-
See, that goes counter to what we just read.
-
It just seems like we ought to be afraid.
-
It looks like we ought to look for a rock to hide.
-
No, he's the one looking for a rock to hide behind.
-
He's the one that's afraid of us.
-
He's afraid of that name, he's afraid of that blood, he's afraid of what we know and what we're able to employ with our faith.
-
Rejoice, you heavens.
-
And you heavens See that dwelling them Whoa, whoa To the inhabitants of the earth and the sea.
-
Now, who is that?
-
Well, that's everybody else.
-
Whoa to everybody.
-
Doesn't have this covenant that we've got.
-
I mean people, I mean, you know, you happen to be standing around in Maine the other day, going to the bowling alley and the next thing you wake up dead 18 people shot dead in a gun free zone.
-
Isn't it amazing?
-
All these mass killings occur when no one's armed.
-
How stupid Democrats are?
-
They really are stupid.
-
You know, if all those people at the bowling alley had a you know 40 caliber automatic like mine, he might get a shot off, but it wouldn't be more than one or two.
-
One or two, he'd be eating lead for dinner.
-
So, whoa to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down under you, having great wrath.
-
Know it, because he know it that he has but a short time.
-
Well, this is written 2000 years ago.
-
Guess what the devil knows.
-
He's got a shorter now than it was then, so he's even more crazy.
-
And the woe, see the woe.
-
We don't have to have the woe, we can rejoice right in the middle of all this danger.
-
In the last days, perilous times shall come, paul told Timothy.
-
Well, we're living in them right now.
-
Perilous out there, without the Holy Ghost, without the Word of God, without your faith being active.
-
It's perilous out there, but thank God, we can rejoice, amen.
-
So it's a now time and Jesus is coming soon, and this time being short has caused him to go even more extreme.
-
But we become the victor on the grounds of the basis of number one, the blood.
-
See, we've got to know something about the blood.
-
We talk a lot about the blood.
-
What is the blood?
-
It's the blood of our covenant, and it happens to be not the blood of bulls and goats, which is Israel's covenant, but we've got the blood of Jesus and then our testimony of what the blood has done, is doing and what it shall do, what it will do in the future.
-
You've got to know something about your covenant, you've got to be covenant minded, and we've talked about this quite a lot in the last while.
-
You know, god gave me a year ago, when I went to pray about 2023 and what should we be looking for?
-
He gave me this fact 2023 is the year of God's power.
-
Well, there's power in the blood, and so, when we are strong in our covenant knowledge of what Jesus did at the cross and what that blood did, what is doing right now?
-
Did you know?
-
The blood is doing something right now and it's going to continue to do that?
-
It's going to continue to do that.
-
You've got to know that.
-
And then you've got that testimony of what it's done for you.
-
What does that do?
-
It eliminates the accusation.
-
The devil's accusing you all the time.
-
He'll try to get you talked into the fact that you're a second-class Christian that you're just not able and you're just not gonna.
-
Well, that's for other people.
-
You're not holy, you don't know enough.
-
You hadn't been to Bible school.
-
Well, I never been to Bible school.
-
I went to John Osteen Bible school, kenneth Hagen Bible not literally the Bible school but I mean I sat under that teaching all those years.
-
I'm gonna tell you something I'm fine, I didn't need, I'm glad for Bible school, but I mean you know you don't have to go to Bible school to know the Bible.
-
So it's a now time.
-
And so we overcome and we're the victor, on the grounds of the blood and our testimony about what the blood is purchased and then loving not our lives to the death.
-
What does that exactly mean?
-
It just means you never give up, no matter what you keep the switch of faith turned on, no matter what the report is, no matter what your five senses are telling you about the situation.
-
You know you can get some situations you get informed about you don't know all about it and your mind starts going.
-
You know 90 miles an hour and if you listen to your squirrely brain tissue you might get in a mess.
-
No, let's consult what the Bible says.
-
And what have we been saying anyway, most of the time when I've got a report coming at me, I've already answered that thing for it ever got there and I've been saying something about it all this time.
-
For instance, when I was in the ECU and they did a triple bypass on me and I'm just all disc and bob bled, hadn't slept in days.
-
And you know, when you get sleep deprivation, everything starts moving in the room.
-
You know, I mean the smoke detector moved up in the ceiling.
-
I know I knew it wasn't moving, but it looked like it was moving.
-
If I looked at my with my eyes wide open, it's going whoop, whoop.
-
And then there's things going on all over the room just whoosh, whoosh, whoosh and it was like spider webs.
-
They're hanging there and you know the devil was trying to take credit.
-
He was trying to get me convinced that these were demons.
-
No, it was just my mind.
-
My mind was on tilt and I had to grab.
-
I said, well, I've already answered all this.
-
Before I ever got here, I've been speaking, I've been speaking about my health.
-
The only thing I believe is that I am whole Jesus.
-
By His stripes, I'm healed, I'll live and not die.
-
Declare that I've got a testimony developing right here and I say, yeah, I've got a testimony developing.
-
Did I feel like?
-
No, I felt terrible.
-
I mean you know, if you've had sleep deprivation, I mean my heart goes out too, because I know how that is.
-
I've had it happen to me about three or four times now since all this happened.
-
I mean you go through things sometimes, but you know, what got me through is what I knew about the blood of Jesus, what I knew about the Word of God, what I knew Amen.
-
And then that's what I say right in the middle of all of that Glory to God.
-
So you never give up you love, not your life under the death.
-
Really, you just get free of the fear of death.
-
That's what Jesus rendered irrelevant.
-
He rendered the devil irrelevant.
-
He rendered death irrelevant.
-
Did you know?
-
Death is really irrelevant.
-
We're not ever gonna die.
-
We might move out of this body and go into heaven, but we're never dead, we're never gonna die.
-
Once you get that settled, I mean, you know the devil can't.
-
He doesn't have any ground to make you afraid.
-
Come on, lift your hands right now.
-
Glory to God.
-
Everybody say I'm not afraid.
-
You know, some live to die and go to heaven.
-
That's most Christians.
-
They live to die and go to heaven, but thank God, at least they know they're going to heaven when they die.
-
But then there's others who die and live to bring heaven down to earth.
-
See, that's Paul.
-
Paul said I die daily.
-
Paul said it's no longer I that liveth, but Christ liveth in me, for the life that I now live in the flesh.
-
I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
-
How many he just?
-
He said I just count myself dead already.
-
You know when you're dead already, how can you be afraid of death?
-
But you live to bring heaven down to.
-
Oh, come on now.
-
Some of you get this this afternoon about three o'clock.
-
So we ought to rejoice and not suffer woe.
-
See, woe belongs to the Pharisee.
-
Who did Jesus say woe to?
-
He said woe to the Pharisee.
-
Woe be unto you.
-
And they suffered woe.
-
I mean there was a penalty for rejecting Jesus and Messiah.
-
There was a penalty for being trying to hold others in bondage to dead religion.
-
Woe unto you.
-
You're like, why did sepulchres full of dead men's bones you start reading what Jesus said?
-
I mean, he told him how the cow ate the cabbage.
-
So we ought to rejoice because our citizenship is in heaven, amen, and we have authority.
-
So let's look at 1 Peter 5 now, and while you're turning over there.
-
Right before that is James, chapter four, verse seven, and we've got three more thoughts that I want to leave with you before we leave the subject of the overcomer.
-
I want you to identify with the overcomer, because, legally, that's who you are.
-
Vitally, though, or functionally, it's what you have put to work with your faith and your words.
-
So we all go in different results of overcoming.
-
Sometimes we have no overcoming, sometimes we have partial results.
-
My aim is to get you in 100% results, all right.
-
James, chapter four, verse seven.
-
Submit yourselves, therefore, to God.
-
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you and the devil.
-
I just put in their sickness, I put in their sin, I put in their, you know, poverty and lack.
-
Whatever the devil authors I substitute for for resist the devil, I just put whatever he's doing.
-
I resist that.
-
What does it mean to resist?
-
Stand up against it, stand up against it, withstand, in other words, don't quit till you've defeated it.
-
Keep the switch of faith turned on, all right.
-
And then first, peter, chapter five, verse eight Be sober, be vigilant.
-
Why?
-
Because you're adversary the devil as a roaring lion.
-
He's not a lion but as, like a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.
-
Whom resist?
-
There's that word again.
-
Stand against, withstand, resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
-
So I've got three things that I get out of these verses that I think that will help you to be an overcomer and to be more consistent when trouble comes putting it behind you.
-
Remember, you're gonna get through it, you're gonna get around it.
-
You're gonna get under it, you're gonna get over it, but you're gonna get on the other side of it, whatever it is.
-
Whatever it is, the first thing I see is vigilant.
-
B the overcomer is vigilant.
-
I think the opposite of vigilant is clueless.
-
Some people are just clueless.
-
They just things are blowing up and they're just ignoring it.
-
They've got stuff over here, they've got over here.
-
Then they're just kind of going through life like Pollyanna and you know, I mean, they're just not really.
-
They're not answering the trouble.
-
They kind of think you know, if I don't say anything, maybe he'll forget me and just keep on get past me.
-
No, you've got to answer trouble.
-
Jesus answered a fig tree.
-
I mean, the fig tree didn't have any figs, it wasn't even seasoned for figs, and the Bible says he answered the fig tree.
-
Say it no man, eat fruit of thee forever.
-
I mean, if Jesus can answer a fig tree that didn't have any figs when he was hungry, you can answer whenever the devil is stealing your finances.
-
You can answer the devil when he's trying to put sickness and disease on you.
-
God, I'm gonna commit it.
-
Vigilant, as I said, you know, literally it means to be awake, it means to be alert.
-
I don't mean sleepless, I don't mean staying up at night.
-
I mean you are alert, you're watching in prayer, you make yourself available for the Holy Ghost to give you warnings, to give you one ups.
-
Yes, sometimes the Holy Ghost can just make you aware.
-
And when I say that, it's not even so much a voice as it is just all of a sudden you have a knowing that something's going on.
-
Vigilant, vigilant.
-
I mean you know, in a war, even in peacetime, you know if you're in the army, if you're in the armed services, they have a watch.
-
You've got a stand to watch.
-
I mean you've got guard duty out there.
-
What are they guarding against?
-
I don't know, but they have guard duty.
-
They got soldiers out there standing to watch, don't they Pete?
-
They got a weapon on their shoulder and they're watching.
-
If somebody comes along, their superior comes along and finds them sleeping, or buddy, they're gonna go to the brig.
-
No, you stand to watch.
-
How do we watch?
-
We will watch in prayer, we watch in the Holy Ghost.
-
We're in a war, we're being fired upon.
-
So it's time and especially now.
-
I mean, he's got great wrath.
-
He knows his time is short.
-
He's looking who can he take out of commission?
-
Well, it's people like us that he concentrates his firearm.
-
He doesn't have to worry about the guy sitting in the bar on a bar stool, sitting in Southern comfort.
-
No, he doesn't have to bother with him, he's already got him.
-
He's gonna come after you.
-
You're the one that's a threat.
-
You're the one that's given your testimony.
-
You're the one Amen.
-
So be vigilant.
-
You know you're either about to be attacked, you're in an attack or you're just coming out of attack.
-
Just quit being amazed at the attack.
-
Quit being amazed when it happens.
-
Oh, what did I do?
-
No, don't.
-
Just don't worry about it.
-
It just comes with the territory we're living right now and it comes with it.
-
If you did leave the door open, so to speak, if you did do something that cooperated with the attack, well, you know, don't worry about that, that'll come later.
-
God took three years to tell me what I had done.
-
One time, three years after I had done the deed, and the devil attacked my finances.
-
He didn't figure I could bear it.
-
He had mercy on me.
-
Well, leave him alone.
-
He's doing all right.
-
When he gets stronger I'll tell him so he doesn't repeat the problem.
-
Of course I'll repeat it two more times.
-
I'm not a quick learner, I'm a little slow.
-
I was, I was a little slow.
-
I had to quickly correct that.
-
All right.
-
The overcomers number one vigil Number two.
-
The overcomer is not easy prey, just not easy prey.
-
He's seeketh.
-
He walketh about seeking whom he may inconvenience Steal their parking place at the mall, give a bad hair day.
-
Seeking whom he may devour.
-
He's wanting to devour you.
-
Don't be easy prey.
-
You know he's as a line, as a roaring line, your adversary.
-
The word adversary means a legal opponent in a lawsuit.
-
Isn't that interesting Really, this whole thing is all about legal, it's all about the word.
-
It's all about what God already said.
-
It's all about what you have, are testifying to and when he comes against you, it's not about you crying, it's not about you whining, it's not about you going into emergency tongues.
-
It's about you presenting a case that this attack is illegal and it will not stand.
-
See, when you get, it'll transform your prayer life.
-
It'll transform how you respond to trouble.
-
You're not easy prey.
-
Your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion.
-
Now, anybody knows anything about lions.
-
I don't know that much.
-
I'm not.
-
Siegfried and Roy.
-
One of them died, got bit and had a stroke.
-
I don't know.
-
That didn't turn out too good for his career being a lion trainer in Las Vegas.
-
But anyway, I know this that lions do not roar, they're very silent with their prey.
-
I mean, they sneak up on their prey.
-
Even a big old lion, the male lion, can be 600, 800 pounds.
-
They don't just come pounding out of there and just attack.
-
They creep up on them and they get real close.
-
Then they run and they don't roar until after they kill the prey.
-
Of course it's the whole process to kill the prey, because they don't die from the bite.
-
They get them under the throat and they get them down on the ground and they suffocate them.
-
Sometimes they'll grab them all the way over their nose and mouth and a big lion, like a male lion, has got big enough jaws They'll crush that front of their nose and mouth.
-
It's horrible to watch and the poor animal can't breathe and it's bleeding and so it sucks the blood down into his lungs and it basically drowns in its own blood.
-
Is how they kill it.
-
But once it's dead, now they start eating.
-
And once it's dead, that's when they roar.
-
They roar to get the pride over there to have a meal.
-
So the roaring comes after the kill.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
So how dumb is the devil to roar before.
-
He's a big mouth he can't contain himself.
-
He's, as a lion, but not a very good lion, kind of a dumb lion.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Don't be easy prey.
-
One thing about prey is if they're sick, are they're old or they're feeble or they're lame, you know they'll go after the weakest one.
-
They don't look for the biggest, hardest challenge, they're after a meal.
-
They go for the little one, they go for the brand new baby, they go for the.
-
You know they go for the old one.
-
It's just on its last legs, they go for the one that's lame, and then their job is easier.
-
So you know, when you get offended, you're just look, you're just meat.
-
When you start letting yourself get offended, walking around like you're just all hurt, and you know, man, man, man, man, man, man.
-
Well, you know what You're.
-
Just, you're being easy prey.
-
It's not gonna have very much time taking you down.
-
You're already taking yourself down.
-
When you don't ever read your Bible, you don't ever pray, don't have a prayer life, come to church when you feel like it.
-
Hey, you're weak, he's gonna take you down.
-
It won't be much of a battle either, and once he got you down, you don't have much in you to fight.
-
So I was watching this one encounter with a giraffe.
-
You know a giraffe's pretty big animal, you know.
-
But this poor giraffe had a broken leg.
-
I don't know what happened to her.
-
Her rear leg was broken so she couldn't.
-
She was hobbling man.
-
I mean she was struggling.
-
Of course that lion saw that and that's a big meal.
-
I mean that's gonna feed a whole group of lions for a while.
-
And you know she put up a really good fight.
-
But I mean, eventually he got her down.
-
Once they're down.
-
That's it.
-
It's over Once they're down.
-
And so it was over because she was wounded.
-
So don't be easy, pray.
-
He accuses and attacks our righteousness.
-
Answer that.
-
Don't let your mind go crazy when he starts telling you things and attacking you in your thought life.
-
Answer it out loud, let him know.
-
You know what he's doing.
-
Don't just have one of these thoughts and then just oh, I bet I'm not gonna think that.
-
No, say something out of your mouth, turn it back on him.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
See again the word.
-
The blood and the greater one are our greatest, our greatest thoughts, our greatest weapons.
-
So you have to speak, you have to act.
-
Don't be easy pray.
-
Don't be a clueless.
-
Be vigilant.
-
Don't be easy, pray.
-
And then the last one is be steadfast.
-
In the covenant.
-
James 4-7, resist the devil First.
-
Peter 5-9, resist steadfast in the covenant.
-
What does steadfast mean?
-
Unwavering?
-
James 2, says he, that wavers is like the waves of the sea.
-
In other words, you go back and forth and back and forth, wavering.
-
There's no wavering in faith.
-
Faith does not waver.
-
Your mind wavers, but make sure your words are consistent with what you believe in your heart.
-
No wavering.
-
You have to be steadfast and unwavering in the covenant.
-
Psalm 78-37 says that Israel in the wilderness was not steadfast in the covenant and they limited the Holy one of Israel.
-
They limited God because why they were not steadfast in the covenant?
-
They kept wavering.
-
They'd be happy when times were good and then, when times were not so good, they'd be murmuring, murmuring and complaining, whining and having a pity party.
-
Where's the water?
-
Why did you bring us all the way out here to you know, to die at first?
-
Oh, what that?
-
We were back in Egypt.
-
There was plenty of water there.
-
There were cucumbers.
-
Where's my cucumbers?
-
Didn't you imagine anybody getting all excited about cucumbers?
-
Now, pickles is a different thing, but just plain old cucumber.
-
I mean, come on, we need a break Anyway.
-
So they weren't steadfast in the covenant.
-
But if we resist the devil steadfast, see, stand up against him with stand.
-
He will flee from you.
-
James 4, 7 says the word flee means flee, as in terror.
-
See, there's the part that we have got to know that the devil is more afraid of us than he lets on.
-
He is afraid of anybody that's got Bible knowledge, that's got revelation knowledge about their covenant.
-
He's afraid of anybody that knows who they are in Christ.
-
Come on.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-
He's looking for a place to hide.
-
Then Amen, you getting anything out of this.
-
So, talking about this giraffe, you know we've talked about the one that was easy prey.
-
It was lame.
-
Well, you know, I saw another mama about the same size, big man, these mamas are big but she had a calf and of course the calf is under attack.
-
I mean the lions are gonna get that calf and they got the calf by the neck and got it down on the ground.
-
But mama come, and when mama got there, mama took her front paw and just kicked that lion while he still had a hold of her baby and man, I mean that lion moved boy.
-
And then another one came around and came around behind mama and she kicked from the back like that and hit him right under the chin and he turned a whole summer they're talking about a 500 pound lion Kicked that lion under the chin, he went over like that and laid I don't know if he was dead or just unconscious, but I mean they left her alone, left the calf alone.
-
I mean she was resisting.
-
You wouldn't think.
-
I mean she can't bite you.
-
I guess she could, but I mean it'd take a long she gotta get weighed in.
-
It's just easier for her to kick.
-
And boy, can they kick.
-
I mean it's amazing.
-
I mean how big an animal they are when they kick.
-
It's lethal.
-
Listen, I'm telling you right now we have weapons of mass destruction.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-
Yeah, those things in the world are gonna attack you.
-
Jesus said they would.
-
But we don't ever have to be afraid.
-
All we've gotta do is lift up our voice, use our faith, lean on the greater one on the inside of us, and those things will run off and hide.
-
Come on, lift your hands and receive.
-
Today, everybody say I'm an overcomer.
-
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-
Thank you, jesus.
